If you like cozy mysteries set in the past this book is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this historical fiction cozy mystery. Emma was a well-fleshed-out character with tons of spunk. While reading I felt like I have dropped into 1883 Chicago. The mystery portion of the story was so good. It was a complete nail-biter till the very end. As an avid reader of mysteries, I didn’t see any of the twists coming. Some of the twists were even a bit shocking my jaw dropped.

Notebook Mysteries Decisions and Possibilities follows Emma as she sleuths her way through a variety of unusual activities.
I found the idea to be intriguing, following a girl through journeys of crime isn’t new, but the idea of following through her journal entries is. While this book started out in this sense, sort of falling back into written accounts that Emma made, it didn’t stay like this. The reader starts out with Emma reminiscing about a previous case after stumbling onto the notebook where she writes about the case.
As we move forward we are introduced to other characters including her partners in business and others. One thing I found interesting about this book was the use of the Narrator as a character, a character with its own thoughts and comments, mostly directed to another known as Dear-One. We don’t get many inserts from these two characters, but I feel if there were more I think the story could gain a lot of details.
Throughout the course of the story, we hear about three different cases and a separate account that is related. For me, as a reader, I felt that three cases in a short book was too much and that it would have been more beneficial to the story and characters to spend time on one case and perhaps introduce a second one to entice readers for the next installment.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and felt that Kimberly Mullins had a strong grip on an amazing idea. I’m excited to see more from her as she continues to write and become stronger in her style.

I really enjoyed reading this romance. Even though it’s a short story it is a complete one in the sense it all flows and makes sense. I also loved the characters and the twist at the end I didn’t see coming.
Kyra is kinda caught between 2 men. Jake who’s a heart throb and ladies man, who claims to share her passion for nature and preserving wildlife and Dylan who is her mentor, who’s life is based around saving the turtles and preserving their life. Her attraction to both men is intense but she is unsure where her heart truelly lies. Add to this story a mystery over who is poaching the turtles eggs and its an adventure which will leave you shocked when the person behind the thefts is revealed.
A Natural Passion is a standalone romance by Tammy Mannersly. It’s a sweet story that centres around turtle conservation, raising awareness of the risks this species faces (and providing an excuse for plenty of swimwear and beach scenes…) Mannersly introduces the love triangle from the get-go, and in many ways it’s the classic “girl choosing between a bad boy and a nice guy” setup but there’s more to it. Dylan is reluctant to make a move, aware of how he could end up taking advantage of his position as Kyra’s mentor. Jake has also been playing the long game, waiting until he had enough money saved up to treat Kyra to ask her out. But there’s something about his behaviour that bothers her. I found aspects of the story a bit predictable, but there’s something comforting in reading a story where you’ve got an idea how things will pan out. There’s still plenty of tension, both between the characters and with the fact that the turtles are in serious danger. My favourite thing about it was the seaside setting. I felt like I was with Dylan in his kayak, exploring the coast. A mini-break in a book! This book gets four stars from me. I would recommend it to animal lovers looking for a light, romantic read.

Kiss Me Before Flight by Thia Finn. I loved this book. Its the story of Trident Security’s pilot Conrad “CC” Chapman who has been asked by his sister in law, Jane to help her friend, Callie, who is trying to get away from her abusive husband. Callie has been in this relationship/marriage for over 20 years and he has made her believe that she deserves nothing more. The Trident Security team is used to tackling messy situations but CC is concerned about this one because Callie is very attractive and sparks fly whenever he is near her. He doesn’t need that complication in his life. They end up sending her to a private island in the Gulf by the team. While she is there she begins helping by doing housekeeping but sparks continue to fly between her and CC. Callie’s ex will never let her go and he’s made more threats. She seems to be in more danger than ever before. Will CC be able to keep Callie safe and will they be able to let down their walls and see where their relationship might go? The Boss Prince was exactly what it promised to be. It was fun, flirty, and mysterious. With that being said, I thought it was okay. It was a fun ride with steamy moments. But the heroine is a little too gullible for me. She also devolved from a responsible adult to reckless but in an irresponsible way. Like you are SO handsome, of course I will break the law for you! It was a good idea, and it was a fun read, but not my cup of tea. So if you are looking for a light-hearted, easy read, give it a shot!

I’ve realized after reading this novel that this is the second generation from the Lochlann feuds. Princess Rowan is a very strong and independent young lady that is comical, sarcastic and witty. The two feuding kingdoms don’t seem too far off from each other, and yet they are completely different. As a mother of four girls, I would say that this book is clean enough for most teens. There is a bit of romance in it, but nothing too dirty.

Mafia action and romance What a thrilling ride this book was. I could not put it down and ended up reading until the early hours – so be warned. Amazing writing, characters and what a world!! This was my first book by this author and I am hooked! This is a fun, YA book, with a female Sherlock Holmes-like main character. Decisions and Possibilities is the second book, and I am going to be reading the first one. The storyline kept me interested through to the end. Emma is a strong character that makes you instantly want to be her. She has been brought up learning many skills, from cooking and sewing, to defending herself. I will definitely be sharing these with my young granddaughter.

Forever Valentine: A Sequel to Professor Valentine is book six in the Kirk University series by Diana Vale. Forever continues for Cassie and Diego. Their forbidden tryst blossomed into love and we get to find out what has been going on in their lives. As far as short stories go, this one isn’t to bad. It kept me turning the paged and nicely enthralled from the start. Their story was a good one and flowed energetic and easily. The play on words was clever. The characters relatable and likable. A lovely short and sweet delight. 4 stars.

Amy McKinley’s No Way Out is one of the most character intense stories I have ever read. The story of the Chicago’s Italian-American Mafia families showed how they had their own political agendas. Lilianna Brambilla’s role as a Mafia “princess” made her an asset to her father. Benito Brambilla’s power was crumbling from the destruction of several warehouses he used to store drugs. The Council of the Mafia frowned upon drug dealings, but Benito did not care.
Max Caruso’s, along with his cousins, directions are to protect Lilianna and to reintroduce her to her Grandfather VIncenzo. After her mother had died, Benito refused to allow any contact with VIncenzo. Max infiltrates Benito’s home as Matteo “Matt” Trambino, with a reputation for being a hitman for the original families that never failed to get a job done. Benito assigns Matt to guard Lilianna. After a dinner with the Mexican cartel and Matt protecting Lilianna from the unwanted attention of an ambitious youngster, she begins to trust him. She also feels something different about Matt, but dismisses her underlying feelings, knowing her father would never allow her to date an employee. Little does she know, but Matt has grown a much larger attachment to her and intends to get her out of the prison life she lives. When Antonio Caruso strikes a deal with Benito, Lilianna goes into panic mode. She was to marry the oldest son of the Caruso family, Tony. Suspected of killing his previous fiancé, Tony is despised by Lilianna. She fakes her escape and finds herself losing her thoughts of control when Matt foils her plans.
This is a stellar 5-star thrilling romance. The alternating narrative between Max and Lilianna is seamless. I loved how McKinley was able to bring the characters alive with rational thoughts and how easy it was to connect with them. The outward appearance of Lilianna was a farce of someone that feared nobody, but underneath she ran on fear. The amount of weaponry she carried with her everywhere was overkill, which in her shoes, I probably would have done the same. Living in a house where your mother died, and being treated as property by your father, would break just about anyone. The ending of this book fits and doesn’t feel rushed like other romance novels tend to be.

What a way to find a house you want to sell of course it has to be me. The people of this town loved my gran as hee granddaughter Lucy seem to be a patriarch of this town. I actually enjoyed reading this more than I though. Jane is extremely relatable and I really like her character. Tripp I like him. I want to read the next book now. This is amazing book 5/5

This book is a bit steamy, however it’s very much on the dark side. I am on the fence with this one I don’t know if I love it or hate it I feel like there is no in-between. I understood the plot but I expected more romance but romance Kim of fell flat. There is really great character development as you would expect in the first book of a series. Something seems to be missing I don’t know what yet, maybe because it is book 1 questions get answered in book two or things will just make more sense. Would you sell your soul to the devil for the love of your life ?! The “bad guy” of the story really was the best part all the best villains have the name Kai or some variant lol. I am looking forward to book two. I hope there is more steam then darkness in the next read. I will give it four stars because it is book one and it keeps you reading it has a good plot I just don’t think this is my type of book something I am willing to get use to.

There are a lot of characters I started to lose track but it was okay because the story is so good. I don’t know why I connected with this book more then book one but this deserved all the stars because I will be giving this to my children as summer reading. What is going to happen next and will we get all the answers?

This story was very unexpected! I started in one mindset and ended in a completely different one! There was sooo much involved in this storyline itself. The characters were very well developed and the story itself was original and intriguing. This paranormal romance took me some place I did not see coming at all. The amount of suspense, mystery, drama, romance, as well unexpected twists just made the story even more exciting. When Celine’s husband is murdered she is devastated and angry. She wants revenge and is willing to sell her soul for it. When she meets a demon named Kai the night of her husbands murder he gives her just that option, and she takes it. As the pair start to explore Celine’s former life they discover a lot of hidden secrets that inspire more questions than answers. Kai knows more than he lets on, and as he Celine go thru this vengeful journey we discover that sometimes things are not at all how the seem.

This book absolutely blew me away! Amy McKinley is such a talented author. Liliana and Max are both extremely multi-dimensional characters and I really enjoyed getting to read the story from the view point of each of them. Liliana comes across initially as a cool and indifferent, but a total kick-butt woman that takes crap from no one. However, as the story develops, you get to see a completely different side of her-a side that is scared and lonely and craving a sense of belonging. Then there’s Max. He turns out to be so much more than just a hunky, muscular man that won’t let anyone stand in the way of his end goal. Max and Liliana bring out the best in each other and I was rooting for them the whole way! This book truly has a little bit of something for everyone-romance, suspense, action and heat. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the next book in this series.

This book is so good amd the whole time you are reading you think you have everything figured out amd let’s just say nothing is as it seems. Never would I have thought the ending would be as it was. This is a really good book amd I love how the Author does not leaving you hanging until the next book to find out important events! There are some really good steamy scenes in this book very interesting and ummmmmm imaginative! All in all I really liked this book and am excited to read the next one in this series!

The third in the Her Three Immortals series. I have enjoyed the books in this series, and this was no different. This book begins where the last one ended, Vanessa is standing in front of the Queen of the Underworld. The Queen of the Underworld has a task for Vanessa to complete, and she has exactly 24 hours to do so. This wouldn’t have been so hard if she hadn’t been thwarted. I love the characters in this series. The writing is excellent and has me turning pages as fast as I can read. I love that this is a hot and steamy reverse harem story. Aroz, Raef, Grey, does Vanessa have to choose? Why can’t she keep them all? Romance, lust, kidnapping, quest, this book has it all! Thank you so much Hazel Storm, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Book 4.

This is the fifth book in A Backyard Farming Series, but the first one I have read. I did not feel as if I was missing anything by jumping feet first into this book. Anne helps town residents create beautiful gardens, but things take a turn when she finds Billie underneath a bookshelf deceased. Anne’s gut tells her this was not an accident as first thought. I am not normally very oblivious to clues in a mystery, apparently my brain doesn’t quite work that way. I was very excited that I was able to follow some of the clues in this book. Who in the garden club has the most to gain? Or lose? This was a well written story, I really enjoyed it.

Potager Plot is book #5 in the Backyard Farming Series by Vikki Walton. For me it was the first book I have read by this Author and I really enjoyed it. Not having read the previous 4 books did not diminish my enjoyment of this book but I definitely will be going right back to the beginning to better follow this wonderful series. I also loved that while this is a mystery it is not dark, it is quite light hearted.
Anne is a very charismatic, likable character with a knack for mysteries. When she finds the Garden Clubs President dead in her home the circumstances just don’t sit well with her. Suspicions grow within her as she looks into the comings and goings of various people in the life of Billie. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you captivated as you follow Anne as she tries to solve this mystery. Come on grab yourself a copy of Potager Plot and join Anne and the wonderful people of Carolan Springs…you won’t regret it!!

This is the second book by Ms. Marie I have had the pleasure of reading and I have no doubts that I will be reading more especially this series.
I read a lot of books and there are some that I read pretty quick while others not quite as fast. This was one of the books I read pretty quick because I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen between Craig and Rachel and how it all went down.
I’m lucky to have a few friends from my high school years that I’m still close with and each time we get together it’s like no time has passed which is what I saw with Craig and his friends.
I throughly enjoyed this Book and can’t wait to read the next in this series.

Winner winner chicken dinner! Now this is a book I would recommend to any and all. I am a huge fan of time travel and adventure. Have you ever see the show Timeless? Now think of that in the fantasy world of space. Now this adapts the love of ancient Egypt and different times of the human world into the sci-fi world and it sucks you in with amazing character; that honestly, should each have their own spin-off okay. With these characters they are so well explained and the details are so precise that you want to be their friend or their worst enemy. While reading this I didn’t want the story to end but it is beautiful all the way around till the very last page. Five stars I wouldn’t give it anything else!

This book starts out like most romance novels with the boy meeting the girl but that is about all this has in common with traditional romance books. We are automatically thrust into the action and mystery as we follow Danielle in her quest to obtain the relic her mentor has imparted knowledge about. When a mysterious stranger steps in to claim the relic and sends Danielle down the rabbit hole. This leads her to being kidnapped as she is tied up in something she doesn’t fully understand. On one hand Danielle has a secret that she needs to keep but as she gets closer to vulture and his unique tastes little by little her guard slips away. As more of the story is revealed we discover things are not as they seem and the lies piling up around Danielle, vulture, and the contract are not what they seem. Can Vulture keep Danielle safe as he learns she truly is his fated mate? What does the secret Danielle is told to keep have to do with Vulture and the contract? Will their relationship lead to salvation or ruin? This is an edge of your seat read that hooks you right from the beginning and continues pulling you in all the way to the last page.

This is the first book I’ve read by Fréchette. My Soul to Give is the first book in the A Demon’s Love Series and will need to be read in order. This is a great page turner.
Kai is a demon and has been following Celina since she was a child. When he finds her after her husband does things change. He finds that he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her. Celina has lost her parents and now her husband. When she is hunted down by the people who killed her husband she comes to the black tree. Her black tree. She finds that Demons are real. The quote I chose for Celina is: “So, my aunt paid someone to kidnap Lumen male children to gain immortality?”

First, I absolutely LOVE the cover of the book….can you say stunning! Second, I cannot get enough of this series….it is truly a book lovers delight for sure and I am one very happy girl to know there is a 4th book coming!!! “The Bow” is book 3 in this series and I do recommend reading this series in order. I am addicted to the characters. There is love, suspense, with some magic and I love each character. Vanessa has been assigned a task to complete by the Underworld Queen and she must succeed. Just when she believes everything is going according to plan, here comes Aroz. I love how the story unfolds and you really get to know the characters.
