Molly is overwhelmed with her mother’s illness and her father’s anger, while her brother lives elsewhere. She is nineteen and knows she could leave home, but then who would take care of her mother. Her father wants her to be responsible for her mother when she disappears often.

On one such disappearance, Molly will discover a house in the woods. She followed her mother there and becomes fascinated with the house and her mother being there. What she will soon discover will change everything she thought she knew about her family.

This book keeps you trying to figure out each twist and turn to the very end. You think you have an idea of what happened, only for it to be shattered by the next turn of events.

Oh what a web we weave when we deceive! Nadia has woven quite the web when Cade runs into her again several years after she has rescued him from drowning. The spark is still there but secrets are being hidden under the surface. Can this romance hold up once the secrets are out? Is it strong enough to stand? Cade and Nadia are so well-written that you can feel every feeling they have as you read this story. The plot, twisted as it is, kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1.

Riley is in grad school working at the local coffee shop. In a relationship that is turning bad, she starts thinking the past is repeating itself. The guy she thought she wanted, isn’t really who he says he is.
Xander is a Navy SEAL and is on forced leave. He’s just recovering from an injury after a failed mission and a breakup.

He meets Riley and he can’t help but want to be near her. Can’t keep his mind off of her. He knows that he wants to give a relationship a try, but will she?
I like the way that the secondary characters are introduced and weave their own story giving you little hints of what’s to come. There are several little mysteries going on all at once and there is always something lurking around the corner, but will they be ready for them?

I have a bad habit of finding new series but starting out of sequence. This is another case of that but I am not at all put off or feeling a bit out of sense. I found that the author has a very unique batch of characters and find it a really great read.

I really was glued to the pages to see how the story would play out. I found that this was such an easy read that I just got lost in the pages. I felt as though I was right there in the midst of the action. I like how even though it is a paranormal book the characters just seemed real and jumped off of the pages. The author has a great way to grab the reader and keep you hooked. I will definitely read more from this author in future.

I absolutely loved this novella! Sons of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus & Cam Johns is a captivating suspense filled novella to start off the Sons of Sindicato series and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Braelynn and Seth!

Braelynn is a successful criminal defense attorney who put everything she has into her career. And it could all be lost in a blink of an eye. Not only is she having a secret affair with a client but she just committed murder. Surely that would get you disbarred.

Seth is the son of the leader of the Sindicato. He finds himself needing a good attorney to help get him out of the trouble he was in and man did she do her job! But from the beginning, Braelynn had his attention and he’s not sure that’s a great idea considering how his family fells about it. But he’s willing to do anything for her. He would even help cover up a murder. Will he go as far as walking away from his family?

This was an amazing story. Yes, I do wish it would have really gone into their story more but wow did it pack a punch! I will be adding Sonya & Cam as my list of “must-read” authors!

Denise did a fantastic job getting this story started. I have always been a fan of stories about people out of time. Add in magic, a coven, and a story with ENORMOUS potential for growth?! I’m hooked. I read it so quickly I wanted to re-read it and get started on the rest as soon as possible. Cassie is a witch out of time with a story of her own to tell. Nick is running away from his magic, but cannot help the pull of Cassie and their interwoven destiny. I am so glad to have found this author! The mystery surrounding everything that has happened since Cassie was transported through time and what could potentially happen now that they are on the right track is gonna keep me addicted to Denise’s writing for as many books as she has to offer! Don’t pass up the chance to read this story and follow this author. I know I’m glad that I did.

Wow!! House in the Woods has been a truly unforgettable read, it’s intense, suspenseful, detailed, gripping, spine tingling and just so captivating.

Right from the get go I was intrigued, I loved how the author was able to pull me in with all of the detail. I had so many questions throughout the story, at times it was frustratingly suspenseful but in the best way possible. This author had me sitting on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the very end.

If you are looking for a one of a kind suspense read look no further, this is the book for you!!

This is the third book and my third audio by this author.  I couldn’t wait to listen to it.  I loved the previous two audiobooks which I would highly suggest before this one to help enhance your enjoyment of this series.  I loved being pulled into the story of Alexander and Krystina by the narrator’s voice from the beginning.  This is their conclusion to their story which I will miss but I can’t wait to see what this author has for us next.  Their story is one of heart, secrets and an attraction like no other.  Krystina is faced with a decision that will either make Alexander’s life come tumbling down or save his life.  What will she do?  I highly recommend this audio and this series.  You don’t want to miss Alexander and Krystina’s story.

I have read a few of Ms. McKinley and I am hooked. The characters are amazing and well written. I loved the way these characters played off each other. Again Ms. McKinley did it again with her description of Italy and the cobble stones.
Gianna Bellini is an artist and conservator and lands her dream job in Venice to restore and complete a century-old fresco painting, she packs her bags and hops the first flight to Italy. While walking the cobble stones she felt Deja’vu she has been to this wonderful floating city before.
Venetian native Sergio Vitale rescues Gianna from a chilling plunge after a misstep at a canal-side café. She is making great progress on the restoration of the painting but as she works she finds that fresco painting is missing a panel. As these two get closer she turns to Sergio for help.
While trying to discover the fresco painting Gianna is having these dreams with haunting whispers where century-old Venetians have met their end.
Can Gianna and Sergio discover where the missing panel? Can Gianna fight her destiny as Sergio fights for a future that includes Gianna in it?

Beneath the Surface is the third book in the Gray Ghost series by Regan Brown. This series keeps getting better and better. This book features Jack and Hannah. The timeline in this book is simultaneous with book two Eye of the Storm. You really should read/listen to this series in order to get the full effect of how all of the characters interact with each other. Hannah, is a tough as nails, able to take care of herself kind of girl. Jack is a great match for her and their chemistry is off the charts. I just can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. 

Regan Brown has narrated the first three books in this series. She makes the characters pop and her voice is easy to listen to.  This was a really pleasurable way to spend time with the guys and gals of Gray Ghost!

This is the 3rd book in the Of Magic and Scales series and what a good read it is. I would recommend reading the first 2 books in this series as it follows on with the same characters and storyline. I love the fantasy aspect and how fantasy mixes with reality. There is also an element of danger and romance that keeps the story interesting and flowing. The characters are really well written and you can feel the emotional journey that Aiden goes on from feelings of betrayal and abandonment from his parents, to fear and helplessness when his loved ones are targeted. You feel all the love, hate and pain every step of the way.

Aiden  is happy and settled with his merman mate but there is a dark cloud on the horizon in the shape of  the wicked god Baburaj and his mother, Jhanvi. They have made several attempts at destroying Aiden and his family of friends and his lover. Will they succeed this time?

With the added complication of Aiden finding his real parents in the form of a godess mother and a powerful druid as his father, Aiden starts to wonder just how powerful his magic is and why Baburaji and his mother are so determined to destroy him.
Can Aiden stop them before they hurt someone he loves? Will his parents help him or become part of the problem? Can Aiden get his happily ever after with his partner or will they be ripped apart and destroyed?

This was the first novel that I have read by this author but it hasn’t turned me away from reading another novel by this author.

This is a simply adorable picture book for kids with lots of fun illustrations and songs. I really liked that it showed children how they can make an impact, no matter what their age. If a cardinal can do it, so can a small child! It described some of the problems with hunting and deforestation, and how education and activism is important for all of us to take part in. It gave lots of concrete steps that kids could take to help the planet and their cute animal friends. And it can be fun! An excellent read for littles to teach them about helping our planet in a way that isn’t scary or overwhelming. Definitely recommend.

A timely novel that just makes your heart flutter. The story of Gianna and Sergio. Gianna comes to Venice to restore a mural. She feels the pull of Venice and experiences some deja vu. She feels Giovianni and memories of Sophia. She meets Sergio, her soul mate. Together, they must sort out what is going on and figure out the figure out the mystery of who is trying to get rid of Gianna. You will end up feeling all the emotions. Amy McKinley never fails with her books. A winner right here!

Carnival of Shadows is the second book in the Black Water Magic series. I didn’t realize this was the second book in the series when I picked it up, but you can catch on to the story fairly quickly without having read the first book. Although, I feel like I would have connected better to the characters if I’d read the first one. Especially since it felt like Teagan went from one guy right to the next when it’s clear she still has feelings for the first guy. I think if I’d read book one, maybe that wouldn’t have seemed so abrupt. Context matters.
The story line was interesting. Teagan seems to be a bit rough around the edges, but that could just be because her character is still mourning the loss of her grandmother and trying to deal with everything at the same time. The only character that I really connected to was Sean. So, again I’m going to say, it’s probably a good idea to read the first book before this one.
All-in-all, it was a good read. It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.

This book was very interesting and different from what I’m used to reading. It took me a little to get use to it and the way it was written, but once into it, I found it interesting to see how the author was able to write about civilization and the way that every type of person thinks differently towards there environment. Example is a ship lands on a new plants there are animals and plants around, this group starts killing the animals and really not caring what they do while another group of people, who got ran off by the first people, used the plant as a resource and, growing fields for harvest, saving the animals. The women in this book thou are considered less then men at first, but they influence the men and trick them into doing what is right in some instances. This book makes me feel like its world starting all over like us, were we didn’t have cars or mirrors, and that they evolved to make things and start civilization. All in all, a really interesting and enjoyable read.

I loved this book! It was a very cute and educational way to teach children ways to help the earth by playing to their love of animals. I myself am a bird lover, especially owls, so even though I am an adult I enjoyed it.

Its about a young bird named Mornin who decides to tape his flying adventures. He comes across sculptures of birds that no longer exist and is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen again. He gathers up all his animal friends and passes on his findings. The book then gives children ways to help make sure that the birds stay safe.

I would definitely recommend this read to anyone with kids!

I would have liked to see more depth of the characters though I do understand that since it was short that is not always easy to do. The base of it is enjoyable and I really liked the character connections between Fiona, Connor and Lach. I would read more from this author and would like to see other types of books from her.

Jumping into this story, I knew I would be in for a wild ride. What really pulled me wanting to reading this story all starts with Sophie. Sophie had been injured, losing a leg below the knee and is a wheel chair. She’s being hunted by her best friend’s ex boyfriend and her saving grace is a biker gang called the Satan’s Devil.
My favourite thing about Sophie is she isn’t just the girl next door. She’s got a mouth and isn’t afraid to use it. She struggles with her trauma and tries to overcome it and grow from it too. The helping hand comes from the most unlikely of places, from Wraith. Meeting Wraith, the VP in the gang, he is the walking-talking epitome of a VP biker gang member. His inner thoughts are laughable but when I wasn’t in his head, it felt like I was reading a totally different character.
This story felt like a movie, as it is fast pace and full of action, and if your into biker gangs than this would grab your interest.

This story was laid out nicely. The strong memory that Cade had of Nadia was well thought. I also liked the personal reasons that guided them together. The connection from their past encounter and their present was clever. I didn’t get a strong sense of suspense as I’ve seen in other reviews but the story was carefully thought through. I appreciated the shorter story because I feel that the length may have drawn it out and impacted the feel of the story.

This book had a nice story but I had difficulty embracing Giana’s character. Sergio’s romanticism was great but their chemistry wasn’t a complete sell for me. I did appreciate the women tapestry of the past and present, mirroring what was god on against what had already transpired. I loved the pieces of history and the connection to art. I also enjoyed how the characters fit in together and Giana’s relationship with the parties that were her present but also how it connected with her past. The fountain scene was my favorite!

This is one twisty thrilling ride! I loved every second! I never knew what was going to happen next. The story and the characters are both unpredictable. There are many twists and turns that had me going “wait…what just happened?” I could not read this book fast enough. It really drew me in and kept me entertained.

The characters are plentiful but the main ones are Divine and his team. There are also those characters I love to hate. To pick a favorite character is tough. Valerie is cold and calculating but she also embodies strong female. I was impressed with the devotion Lance showed the family. Hunter is a strategically smart guy. I also liked the random “muscle guys” that were in here..they added some comic relief the second time we see them.

I enjoyed this intricate puzzle piece thriller. The author did an outstanding job putting this all together. I really enjoyed the very end of the epilogue. It rounds it all out nicely.

I eagerly look forward to more!

Manda Mellett is a new to me author, thank goodness for my Kindle Unlimited subscription I get to meet all these new authors and fall in love with their characters and stories.
Turning the Wheels is a 1% Motorcycle Club book about the Satan’s Devils and Sophie. Sophie came to them to hide from a man who was trying to hunt her down to torture and kill.
Wraith turns into her hero in this story, among other things.
There are many twists and turns to this story and to find that Sophie acutally has a few things in common with the men in Satan’s Devils is really cool. The way they come together to help each other is pretty cool.
Loved this book and I will be picking up more of them.

Mornin the Super Bird: Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction is such a cute book and the illustrations are to die for. I was able to read this book to my granddaughter, who just fell in love with Mornin and the quest to stop extinction. I think it was a great way to show how all species and living beings can and should work together to save species from going extinct. Mornin is such a sweet character and really inspired my granddaughter to do better in her treatment of all living things. I am in love with this book and the author. It is so important that children learn to work together for a greater cause and this book provides the inspiration to do just that. What a great lesson to learn in such a cute and easy to understand way.

I’ve read the two prior books in this series and I have enjoyed them all. I appreciate this book because it gave us more of a story within the SEAL team dynamic and how all the storylines are intertwined. Malina’s backstory is actually my favorite of the main female characters of this series. She brings more depth to the series by the past she has endured and it adds to the level of trust and faith she places in Tyler to help her when she is framed with treason. Also, the level of respect within the main male characters of this series, all brothers, is fantastic. All the main characters are likable and have been fun to get to know throughout all 3 books.

Mornin The Super Bird: Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction is a wonderful children’s book with a major teaching moment by Jules Heartly. This is the first book I have read by Jules Heartly. I look forward to reading this book to my grandchildren. This story features Mornin, The Super Bird, as he flies around taking videos. One of his videos is of statues of extinct birds and other animals. When he showed it to his friend they decided to get the information out to everyone. This story is filled with hints about saving the world. I would definitely recommend everyone read this book to children of all ages.
