I have read books by this author previously and I know how can be so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy listening to them bit, I actually did. They narration was good – the stories definitely came across as delicious and sinful as intended. There were 7 books in total – some shorter than others but generally around an hour for each one give or take. They were as I expected – a little bit naughty and a whole lot of sinful! I really like this author and his writing style it is very engaging and not too over the top.
Author Misty Hayes has hit a winner out of the park. This book was an amazing suspenseful, thrilling, tear inducing, emotional ride of teenager Zoey. Zoey is a high school student who has been having nightmares of being abducted when she was 5 years old. No one in her family will speak about what happened but they are very protective of her. Zoey likes to keep to herself and doesn’t have many friends except for the gorgeous all around all star Trevor until Cruz shows her friendship.
Life as she knows it, changes when Gabriel Stanton shows up at their door on Thanksgiving. The truth is exposed and all heck breaks loose. People are going in all different directions. Some to safety and some to another realm. Hold onto your pants because this is a tension filled ride. Just when you think the author has gotten to the pinnacle height she tops that and has you gaping. I found I was holding my breath as I read. Misty Hayes… wow wow wow. I need more of this.

This is book 1 of The Mountain Series. In this first book we are introduced to the main characters, Sarah and James. Sarah is a single mom with two kids doing all the normal things, work and taking care of her kids. When she meets James. This book is a great introduction to a good series and I can’t wait for the next book. It has good love scenes and a good story line. You will enjoy this and I personally can’t wait for the next book.

This was truly a heartfelt story and beautifully written. I personally loved the story the background, the characters and how the story progressed.
Reading this I found it very touching and sweet as well as a book to shine light even for those of us who are facing the darkest times of our life.
The girl in the story who is named Tally, had recently lost someone very close to her and though she knew she needed to be strong in spirit, you could tell a heavy weight was being carried in her heart. (I had a strong relation to this as I too just suffered a great loss in my life and reading about Tally I often taught to myself that is how I feel…its hard, really hard, but you have to be strong and keep going on even if you don’t know what you are going to face next because things feel so unknown.)
Through a surprise and yet beautiful inheritance of this necklace from her late mother, whom was the loss she was had recently experienced and was working though. I felt upon reading that Tally was immediately drawn to it. At that time there were reasons unknown. Further reading, I learned as well as Tally did that it contained a wonderful gift, an angel whom had the name of Jophiel.
Right away I got the sense of there’s a reason to why Tally has an angel. But what was the reasons for this? I had to continue on to learn more.
Continuing on Tally realized she had to face a great adventure and she was basically destined for this task. There was an issue of the people and children of India being in undergoing danger. And Tally knew in her heart she had to help them and not stand by and allow this. Things happen for a reason and Tally felt she was chosen for this path as well as adventure and she wasn’t going to let anything stop her from finishing her chosen role.
More reading, you could see how Strong of a character Tally was and is! She had to face dangers and uncertainty. There was powerful moments in the journey of the adventure Tally faced with Jophiel. Tally was and is a character that is very commendable and able to be a great role model for young children. Not only did she have to go thru grief, but also take on a task that was not only dangerous, but it was also a task not knowing what the true outcome would be. There was basically many tests and positive and negative occurrences that Tally and Jophiel faced. They did what they had to do in the end.
All in all, this was a beautiful and well written story. It was a impact and a great read, and I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish. I look forward very much to the next part. I will defiantly be getting a copy to read for myself.

What a gripping read! Wow – I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to like this book but having read some of the author previous work I was interested in more so thought I would give it a go and I am so glad I did. I was completely hooked from beginning to end – it had me guessing, it had me on the edge of my seat and more. The characters were so well thought out they really were fantastic to read about. The descriptive language really brought the book to life. I loved the different twists and turns – it definitely kept me guessing the whole way through. It’s hard not to give away spoilers in this one, I really cannot recommend it enough and urge everyone to one click today!

I really enjoyed this book; it was a nice contemporary romance read. I haven’t read anything by this author previously and I liked her writing style, it was easy to read and the flow was good. One thing I really liked was how much emotion the author put into the story, I found it made the characters really relatable and that definitely makes a story more enjoyable for me. Hadley was a lovely character, very sweet and a little naïve. I loved the relationship between Nick and his grandfather, it definitely provoked some memories from me about relationships with my grandparents at that age. Overall a lovely read and an author who I would definitely like to read more from again in the future.

Anyone who has ever fallen in love with a close friend can relate to In His Kiss by Ava Alise. This is the first installment in The Unrequited Series, and I found myself really adoring the two main characters. Xia and Jordan, after a night of fun and drinking, step beyond the friend boundary and sleep together. What Jordan tells Xia the next morning made my heart ache for her! I became so invested in this story that I literally threw my book! However, the good thing about these two is that they do remain supportive and considerate of each other, even though they no longer know quite how to navigate their friendship. This is the first book by this author that I’ve picked up, and I am glad I did. I will be looking forward to seeing where Jordan and Xia’s relationship goes from here. This is an easy and quick read for me – it is not hard to fall through the pages into their world. 4 stars.

If you are looking for a story that keeps you wondering what will happen next, you have found it! If you want a compelling story with greater characters then you have found it.
When Zoey, a young girl learns the truth behind her disappearance at the age of 5, her life is thrown into a world of surprise! This story takes you along with her as she discovers what truly happened that night and the other secrets that have been held from her! It’s a whirlwind of emotions, heartbreak, and family.
If you want action that keeps you in suspense throughout a book this is a great one to read. It keeps you on your toes with twists and turns while still allowing you to love the characters you are reading about. It does have a bit of YA feel to it with the two main characters being young but the author does a great job of making an older audience feel welcome with the addition of the supporting characters.
I didn’t realize this was a spin-off to The Blood Dagger trilogy until after I had already started this book. I haven’t read the trilogy but imagine it may have helped with the storyline in Shield and Shade if I had read it before. Simply meaning I would have seen the bigger picture a bit clearer. This book explains the necessary bits and pieces and can be read alone and still quite enjoyable.
Overall, I loved the storyline in this book. It captivates you and keeps you wondering what else could possibly go wrong! The only complaint I had was the switching perspectives sometimes lost me and I would have to take a second to get into the mindset of the next characters (which is likely my issue as a reader haha!) But in general, this story was great and worthy of reading. It definitely reminds me of Mortal Instruments and stories along those lines. I look forward to reading more from this author!

This is a sweet moving story perfect for young readers. It is full of love and hope but it is also action packed.
I loved the mixture of angels and gods and the war against good and evil. The fact that Tally had an angel by her side but still had to find a way to overcome her obstacles on her own is a good lesson to teach children.
The story itself is great, full of action and adventure with some heartwarming moments. I really enjoyed it.

Tally is a thirteen year old girl who has just lost her mother, she is distraught even though she knew it was coming and her dad feels the same, but when he talks about a future without her, what he describes seems like the worse thing that could happen to Tally, he wants to leave her behind as a boarding student at her school, but she end up telling him exactly how awful it is there and why, she held back before so she wouldn’t worry her mum, so when she asks her dad to take her with him, he agrees to consider it. After this conversation, he gives her a letter and a gift from her mum, in the letter Tally’s mum tells her about what is in the box, it turns out that it is a pendant of the Angel Jophiel and that it will protect and guide her throughout her life until it is ready to be passed to someone else as it has been passed to her. All Tally wants to do is cry herself to sleep, but she is drawn to the small marble angel which looks so real, so she slips it over her head as she falls asleep and feels like she is surrounded by feathers as she sleeps.
As the time passes and she gets used to the idea of her changed circumstances, her dad tells her that she can go with him on his travels and continue her schoolwork as they go, he then tells her that he has been asked to go to India to help a colleague out and that they will leave in the morning, so Tally heads to her room to pack. As she is doing this, he thoughts go to her school friends and how she wants to rub it is]n that she doesn’t have to go to school anymore, it is at this point that the Angel Jophiel begins to talk to her and adminish her for her thoughts and this is where their companionship and friendship start, he will answer whenever she calls to him, be in out loud or in her head and he will support and guide her as she explores the world with her dad.
Once all the arrangement are made, Tally and her dad set off for India, it is Tally’s first time flying and she is more than excited and this stays that way when they land, they are met at the airport and taken to the house they will be staying in, this is where Tally meets her dad’s friend and the lady who will be looking after them. After she unpacks, Tally walks round the garden and as she is talking to her Angel, she runs into a boy called Balvan who she talks to and invites to meet her dad when she mentions going to the Taj Mahal the next day. As the four talk, they find out about a case the local police are working on surrounding children going missing around India, so they are warned to take care and not go anywhere by themselves, but Tally is fine with this and agrees to it.
The next few days are taken up with schoolwork in the mornings and sightseeing in the afternoons, however, when she becomes embroiled in the mystery of the disappearing children, will she and Jophiel be able to solve the mystery in time to stop the plot, or will it be too late and the flood bear down on India? This is a charming tale of friendship and how it can heal hearts, as well as having a healthy dose of mystery solving which will keep you entertained all the way through.

I wish I had this book years ago when our special needs journey started. Its very isolating and all you want is someone in your corner saying you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing and no ones path is exactly the same. As a mother of a special needs child this hit home and gave a voice to thoughts ive had for 13 years. Reading about her and her daughters journey felt like talking with a friend. I recommend this to anyone even if you dont have this journey to walk yourself, chances are you know someone or you will and this helps open your eyes to many things we go through and how you can just be there

The third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series, Amy McKinley’s Forged by Secrets is a great ending to the series! An explosive first chapter made it easy to binge this book, finishing it within 24 hours of the previous novel.
A classic tale of opposites attract, the characters in this novel share undeniable chemistry from the very beginning. Through flashbacks, steamy scenes and heart wrenching moments, Amy does an amazing job at wrapping up the trilogy. Even though I am sad that this story has ended, I am excited to read more of her work.

Oh my gosh guys, this book is great. The writing is amazing and so seamless it was easy to fall into this book and feel like I was there with Cassie and Nick in the forest. Loved the descriptions of the women in the coven, and seeing how the knowledge and magic was passed down through the generations. I found myself trying to figure out what my elemental would be if I were a witch. I definitely need to read the next books in this series, because I have so many questions, and I need to see what happens! Fantasy, romance, and YA lovers, buy this book!

Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley is the second book of the Deadly Isles Special Ops Series. Personally I wouldn’t read it as a standalone mainly because the previous book “Twisted Secrets” did have some mystery that hasn’t been solved yet and continues in this book.
Kayla Kane fled her abusive relationship and needs a place to hide out until things smooth over. Jaxson Hale is a former Navy SEAL and Kayla’s brother’s best friend.
Their story is a second chance romance. They have to overcome their past and get their secrets out in the open if they are ever going to have a shot at being together. Kayla, haunted by her brothers tragic death years before, knows there is more to the story than what she was told. Jaxson, bound by a promise, knows that he’s going to have to break it if he’s ever going to get his second chance with Kayla.
I am enjoying this series. I liked how their story is really just a continuation from their childhood, and you get bits and pieces of that as you read through.

I give Carnival of Shadows: A Teagan Blackwater Urban Fantasy Novel (Black Water Magic Book 2) by Leslie Scott, 5 stars.
I’m pretty sure this is the first book I have read by this author and I was blown away! Urban fantasy is my favorite genre, so the bar is set high for my expectations. I was in love immediately. Tegan is absolutely wonderful as a main character. She is just trying trying her best to take care of those she loves, and she does a spectacular job of it. The secondary characters are great too. They really solidify this great story and make it something even better.
Then there is the story. It grabs onto you immediately a does not let go. Full of action, suspense, heartache, romance and humor, this book has it all. The amount of different supernatural brings was refreshing too; I love variety. I have not read book one yet, but I plan on remedying that soon. Go read this book, you will love it!!!

Terrifying Love is one the most action-packed anthologies I have read in a while. You have stories from a variety of authors such as Isobella Dunn, Everly True to Melody Calder and Helle Gadde. I went from kidnapping to a paranormal revenge story with a twist on Bloody Mary (the best if you love creepy) to paranormal fantasy witch on vampire lesbian tales. There is something for everyone. That is truly what makes this a great anthology: something for everyone. I couldn’t put this down. Once you started a story, you had to go right on to the next to see if it got even better. A definite 5 out of 5 stars.

Divine Devils opens with a dramatic kidnapping attempt of two teenagers: Olivia and Deion Hawkins. Understandably terrified, their wealthy parents will spare no expense in order to stop this heist. Enter Hunter Devine, ex-US Marshall and all-round excellent fighter and protector. He hopes to piece together the motives and identities of the assailants and stop them in their tracks. Hopefully in time to save their lives.
Hunter is a deftly drawn character, and I appreciated how the authour took time to lay out the nuances of his personality. Despite some questionable past choices, he is an easy character to empathize with and root for. The plot hums along nicely, with lots of action to maintain interest. I wanted things to be a little less ‘spelled-out’ for me as a reader… I felt there wasn’t enough room for a reader to wonder and make predictions. Despite that, it’s a solid crime thriller for fans of the genre.

He really is a superbird because he uses his talent for making videos and spreads them out to everyone which gets all the boys and girls learning by asking questions “how can they help.” The author makes this a fun book for kids about saving the birds and animals. We can help by limiting use of plastics, recycling, less auto use and many other ways. This book can be a really fun conversation starter with your kids to help open their little minds as they learn. Mornin is a fun character that brings learning about the environment to life.

Enjoyable story with Jordan and Xia. What happens when you are best friends with the opposite sex and become something more? Does it work or is it truly a mistake? This story captures that. I really enjoyed Xia and Jordan’s story. Their chemistry is just wow! There are some secrets that unfold, but this story flowed so smoothly. Very enjoyable and looking forward to the next book!

This is the second book in the Black Water Magic series. I found this book just as interesting as the first one. The descriptive language made a clear picture in my mind’s eye as I read the book. There are plenty of paranormal characters to enhance the romance that is within the book pages. The characters really bring this story to life. The story is set around Teagan and everything that is going on with her. There is a carnival and who doesn’t love a good carnival. I highly recommend this book to see how Teagan handles everything.

This book had me with just the title till you tune into what’s being written within the book. Once you learn to take in all the knowledge from the doctor but also apply it to your daily life. The detail-oriented lessons from life and approaching special needs is very helpful and gives the reader a better understanding for the way we treat special needs children or just special needs in general. This book is impressive and incredibly written for readers and parents alike.

Carnival of Shadows is the second book in the Black Water Magic Series by Leslie Scott. Teagan is dealing with a lot–the death of her beloved grandmother, taking over her grandmother’s role as Swamp Witch, and dealing with a developing romantic relationship, as well as a new, young witch in the neighborhood. But then the carnival comes to town…an evil carnival, bringing back the one person Teagan never wanted to see.
Carnival of Shadows is an excellent read. However, I do wish I had read the first in the series before this one. I highly recommend this as the story seems to continue from where the first novel ended. The characters are great, and the setting is amazing. I loved the idea of the evil carnival! Descriptive and a fun read, Carnival of Shadows has made me an instant Leslie Scott fan!

I love Amy McKinley and all of her novels and series, but this latest one Moonlit Kiss of the Moonlit Destination Series has really become a fast top favorite, like probably my all time favorite number one read of hers. This one was so very vivid and I felt from page one as if I was right there with the characters walking in their shoes and along for the adventure. I really was on the streets of Venice and the added suspense and spins of intrigue that were layered in the romance of this read was beyond stellar. I could not put this book down. I read until three am so that I could see how Gianna and Serigio’s story would come to a close. I just had to know there was no way any rest would be had until I did. This is one you don’t want to miss and can be enjoyed as a standalone read, but I would recommend the entire series!

Vanessa Maan is a woman who can bring out the beauty in those around her and her job as a hairdresser and beautician enables her to do this, but since her dad died and left her family nothing, apart from his car “Dante” she has lost faith in men, they are all either angel’s or another type of word beginning with a! However, she has her mum and her brother who love her as much as she loves them and it is the only thing keeping them going with him not being well.
When she is returning home one day, she is nearly run over by her neighbour’s son, but he is not what she remembers of him, btu when she sees who is moving into his old room, she realises that her new neighbour is hot as hell and when she is introduced to him, she feels a strange connection to him which she cannot explain, the problem is that he feels the same, but because he is Grey, the Don of the Underworld and god of excess, he knows he needs to stay away from her. Meanwhile, when Vanessa makes a trip to New York for a couple of meetings, she is caught in a snowstorm, this is where she runs into Raef, he is handsome and sexy, but he is also one of the men which her mother warned her away from, however, he treats her just like a gentleman would and takes her for coffee and dinner, plus organises a hotel for her for the night and escorts her there where they swap numbers, but unknown to her, he is also part god.
After the snowstorm passes and Vanessa makes it back to work, albeit a bit late, it isn’t the welcome she expects when it isn’t her boss who confronts her about it, it is apparently a woman whom she has employed as their new assistant manager, but she is regarded coldly and cannot understand why, but she apologises and puts it behind her and gets on with her day. As time passes, she spends more time with Raef and he helps her with some of the problems she is up against, things at work also turn from bad to worse, but she has no idea why, this is when Aroz turns up and puts a spoke into the mix, he is an angel of love with heavenly looks and wings to match and he is an angel with a mission and Vanessa is firmly in his sights.
What will happen when all three of these sexy men come into Vanessa’s life, will it be heaven, hell or something in between? This is a steamy romance with as much trouble as there is lust, where making choices may just be the hardest thing on earth to do.

Oren and Teivel are shockingly perfect for each other. Even if they are supposed to be “mortal” enemies, that aren’t so mortal. I love their connection and chemistry. This book is a real page turner. I fall more in love with this series with every book.

Terrifying Love: A Halloween Anthology is 7 love stories with a twist. I enjoyed all of the stories, especially the one set in a haunted house and the final story. However, I am not quite sure why it is referenced as a Halloween Anthology as there are not many references to that date. The stories are creepy, some scary, and all are sexy. They are all good in their own way, and were great reads. I will be looking for more from each of the authors!!

If you love paranormal romance than this is a great book. Sheridan and Millicent start off a little bit rough but I love their story. Juniper Falls seems to be a place to run like Hell from. But, for the paranormals there it seems to be matchmaker island. Can’t wait to read the next one.
