Book Review: 8 Second Ride Author: Shannon Nemechek four stars This is a very quick short story. The build up is great and will leave you definately wanting more. An enemy to lovers story, Tuck and Jess cannot see eye to eye on anything and they fight about everything. He is a farm hand on her father’s farm and she is a spoiled only child. Can they overcome their differences or will they continue to despise one another? The characters are developed well and the story line is there, I just want more. KLH

I really enjoyed this book by Theresa Pocock. Right from the beginning there was drama and intrigue. The book kept my interest as it led me on a journey with many twists and turns. Theresa Pocock has created a dynamic world full of interesting characters and I enjoyed my journey through it. The cliff hanger ending left me breathless as I wait on the next installment of this series. Theresa Pocock is an author to watch, and I look forward to seeing more from her.

Guardians Of The Garden by Theresa Pocock was an interesting read. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when I opened this book, but from the synopsis I thought it would be more along the lines of a fairytale. I definitely was not expecting a slightly modern and dystopian take on the Garden of Eden from the Bible. I’m not a huge religious person, so I was slightly thrown off by that. This book was well written, but it also felt like it rambled on. I found my thoughts drifting several times during reading this novel. And this novel ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t tell if it’s part of series, or if it just ends weird. But I’m really hoping for another book and that this is part of a series. But either way I really want a sequel now!

I thought this book was going to go one direction and it took me to a completely unexpected place. I really enjoyed how the author set up the story in the first chapter and how the entire story unfolded. The characters were intriguing and I wanted to know more about why the female lead seemed to be so different. Her past defined her present but her future seemed to be potentially so much more. I really am interested to see how this develops as the series continues.

Oh my! Wow just wow! This steamy quick read is amazing! I really enjoyed this story about Braxton. The story took so many twist that I was not expecting! I loved reading about Braxton’s trials and triumphs in love and business. Cam Johns sure knows how to keep you reading late into the night! I am definitely reading more books by her!

This was a very enjoyable read! Her take on the Garden of Eden was something novel that really got me thinking. I would definitely classify this as a true YA book. Learning to Live is the first book I have read by Kira Adams, but I can’t wait to read more. There plan to be 5 books in this series, which I am totally stoked for! There is so many deep topics in this book, which brought out all the feelings. It is somewhat a coming of age story, but so much more. You will read about topics such as bullying, suicide, depression, death, love and loss. Ciera and Topher have been going to the same school for most of their life. However, Topher hardly knows she exists, except that his friends bully her daily for years. Ciera is to the point of just trying to be invisible to avoid it…counting down the days until graduation. But when life brought them together, it turns out they were the best thing for each other. The thing they never knew they needed. Wonderful characters, all so real and relatable. Grab a box of kleenex and a comfy throw, and curl up with your kindle. You won’t want to put this book down.

Four sexy vampires with an attitude. A female hunter whose life is a very threat to the vampire race. Yet, she can’t help but fall in love with all of them. She is a serial killer hunter but a daytime emergency room nurse. Vampires aren’t allowed to kill their own, but one vampire has killed to protect her.
Every chapter was a fun read. The romance was very intense loved every page of it.

Sons of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus & Cam Johns is a romantic suspense story. This dark tale is the start of this Mafioso series that is engrossing and captivating. This compelling read will keep the pages turning and keep you awake because you need to know how it finishes. I found myself invested in the characters and fell in love with them. Sonya and Cam as a writing pair works well.
The colour of her skin doesn’t matter in the court room but her relationship with the son of the mob could see her disbarred. He has seen and done it all but the one thing that could get him disowned is the one thing he loves.

10 Days by KJ Holliday. I loved this book. Its the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be my last! Its the story of Alexander Jones who is an author and wanting to write a book about outdoor survivalist. Alex is not familiar with the outdoors much at all so this is a whole new thing to him. His best friend Luke offers to take him camping like really camping not glamping! Alex decides it will be more fun with his long time best friend Penny. Alex finds out he is so not into most things camping especially fishing and is taking all the jabs from Luke about it. He also learns that Penny is pretty badass and can do just about anything. During the 10 days you get to see Luke and Alex get along like brothers and also see the feelings develop between Alex and Penny. All 3 in a tent is tight quarters especially if 2 of the parties have feelings for each other. This book is such a fun Romcom and you will be so glad you took the time to check it out!

I have read a couple of books from this talented author but she continues to blow my mind. I love a good military romance but this story exceeded my expectations. This is the sixth book of the addictive series Eidolon Black Ops. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. As I was reading I fell in love with other characters so now I’ll have to read the others to this series as well. I was so hooked on this book I could not stop until I was finished. It only took me a little over a day to devour this amazing story.
Gunner Ramberg had a really tough life when he was little. He and his sister had to go live with his grandmother after a horrible accident with their parents. Gunner loves his sister so much but he almost killed her and now as an adult he carries that guilt everyday. He is all alone until he meets the beautiful Lacey. I enjoyed this short and sweet book. I didn’t know if this story was going to work out seeing as how short it was, but the author managed to get in all the information we needed to understand the story. Jess got on my ever loving nerve with the way she acted, but when explained why, I can understand and sympathize with her. It is sweet that she did in fact fall in love with him at first sight but acts like he is nothing but a lowly worker on the ranch. Tuck, I think handled her quite nicely by giving all the nastiness she threw at him, right back to her. I was sad that it had to end and we didn’t to see Tuck go to Vegas for the finals but at least we know he is on his way.

I have found a new love and that is the Historical Fantasy genre. Byrd Nash has such a descriptive writing style. Her words paint beautiful pictures in my mind’s eye. This book is written in the Late Victorian time period. The characters are fully developed and complicated. This story has the Beauty and the Beast fairytale story within its contents. I feel in love with this story from the very first page until the last page of this book. There were some moments that I definitely gripped my kindle a little harder. I would love to have been Rose. She is the middle sister of three girls. She works within the forgotten garden. There is a beautiful romance that develops within the story. I highly recommend this book for middle school age and beyond.

I really enjoyed this re telling of Beauty and the Beast. The characters were so easy to fall in love with and the story was very well done. Unless I just wasn’t paying good enough attention, I did not see it coming when we find out who the fairy is that cursed Sir Griffin, but I liked how she put him to a test to see if he really had changed or not. The character of Miss Amaranth really got on my nerves, I understand her role and she was very well and annoyingly written. I could tell that Sir Griffin was no in the least bit interested in her and was always looking for Rose. At one point in the beginning I was scared he was going to fall in love with Rose’s sister Lily instead. I really loved this story and wish it didn’t have to end, I can’t wait to see what Byrd Nash has in store next!

Tuck I felt connected to this character straight away. I had some right giggle with this book as well. Got me a bit shocked gets a bit sweaty. It a very short but sweet novella would recommend a read. I only wished it was longer.

Sons Of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns is a dark romance story that is utterly gripping to read. This is a short story that is quick to get through however in no way does that detract from the story. I was pulled in completely by these characters from the moment I started reading. They felt so gritty and real. They really made the whole story for me. I was familiar with one of these authors but not the other and I was surprised by just how well their writing styles seemed to combine. The story is consistent and comprehensive and it probably one of the best pairings I have read in a while. I really Hope we see more from the duo in the future.

Guardians of the Garden by Theresa Pocock is a fantastic reimagining of the story of Eden. It brings in all the elements you are familiar with and puts a unique and interesting twist on them. I liked the fact that at no point did this book feel like it was overly religious, instead it was an author telling a fantastic story that really grabs your attention. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was really impressed with her writing style. It was detailed and imaginative and she created such strong characters. It took no time at all for me to be hooked by the story and I found that I couldn’t put this book down until I had finished it – even if that did mean I was up to the early hours of the morning. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I found this to be a really good read although it’s very short. I did think that it contained a lot of story writing despite being as short as it was. I’ve read several of the authors books and this was not my favorite, but then again I’m not really a “rodeo” type girl so I couldn’t really place myself in the characters boots. There were some funny moments that made me chuckle as the main female character tries hard to be difficult. I think I would have enjoyed the book more than I did if I were into the rodeo lifestyle so if you are I’m sure you will thoroughly enjoy reading this book.

This is a new author for me, and a genre that I don’t dive into much,however this book is worth the chance. A very well written book with developed characters that keep you reading and guessing what the next page brings. The characters, Seth,Sarah, Miriam,Peter all of them kept the story moving along well. This author took her time developing the plot and her writing style will keep you coming back for the next book. Or any other book she has written. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this story. It is a story packed full of action and emotion. This is a well developed story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters are connectable and made the story easy to read. It is a fun and entertaining read. Vince is an agent that finds himself in a situation that he has two choices to make. Either is love or duty. One breaks the barrier and the other makes it stronger. What will he choose? There is so much more to this story but I highly recommend reading the book to find out. This is not my normal type of book I read but I am glad I picked this up and would recommend it.

I enjoyed this paranormal story. It is my first book by this author and I look forward to seeing what is next for her. I found this story to be fast paced that pulled me in from the beginning. It is a story full of magic and action. I had no problems relating to the characters. They made the story easy to read and entertaining. This is a story about Miriam. She is at the point that she wants nothing more to do with her magic. Seth finds himself in a new town, a sister with cancer and parents that have just plain given up. These two are about to collide and what happens next you won’t want to miss. I really enjoyed the author’s attention to details that made the story feel realistic. I am glad I picked up this book and I highly recommend reading this and finding out what happens to Seth and Miriam.

This is a shorter story but it is packed full of romance and a great story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is a story about a spoiled daddy’s girl and a man who works for said daddy. Jessie is determined to make Tuck’s life difficult. He is determined to win a buckle and keep from letting Jessie affect him. What will fate have in store for these two? Will they get what they want? I really enjoyed this short story and what the characters brought to the story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Was my first read by this author and I was hooked from the start! Allison has a gift that would seem a blessing and a curse to most but she’s learned how to control it for the most part. When she meets Logan she can tell he too has a gift but also some other things going on as well. This was a good book while some action happens, I also felt like their relationship was super fast and almost rushed.

I Still Hate You by Marie Skye was a quick, engaging read. When I saw Marie Skye had a story, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I could feel the chemistry and the tension is palpable. This steamy tale keeps you interested from start to finish. Marie’s writing is delightful, and you will fall in love with the characters who made me laugh and cry and everything in between as I journeyed along with the them.
Perrie is looking for a roommate, what she never expected was the one who responded to her ad. Will they remain friends or will they become so much more?

Vengeance is the fifth thrilling instalment in the Sundown Series by Courtney Konstantin. This is such a brilliant zombie, post-apocalyptic survival story with so much heart pounding action, adventure, violence, drama, danger, a plague, fight scenes, tension, intensity, mystery, suspense, and so much more. The is so vivid- every detail so cleverly crafted that the entire story came to life, pulling me into all the heart-pounding action- and had me in survival mode, looking around every corner for any new threats- believe me, I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of this story. The book is intense, raw, gritty, and entirely gripping. Ms. Konstantin took me on an adventure that was so ‘real’ and believable- even though we don’t have zombies in the real world- she made a true believer- it was that realistic. There are a LOT of zombie apocalyptic stories that have made the rounds over the past few years, but this story/series has quite an original take on the zombie ‘lore’. I was immersed in the story- losing all sense of time and place- completely engrossed and entirely invested in the outcome. I devoured it in one sitting and am still thinking about it, days later- and to me, that’s a sign of a great story and a superb author! Ms. Konstantin has a bold, dynamic, and vividly descriptive style- which brought every single scene to life. I was right there, in amongst the action, fighting for survival! The story is so gripping, gruesome, and disturbing- but at the same time there are tender, emotive, and heartfelt moments which gave the story so much more depth. Even though this could be read as a standalone, there is so much more to know, with important storyline/backstory, intriguing developments, as well as character introductions/details to be found in the previous books. So, I really recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one as knowing what happened previously will definitely enhance your reading experience of this book. I cannot recommend this series and author highly enough! So, if you love a thrilling read with zombie/apocalyptic/survival theme- a gripping, well-written plot, and incredibly interesting characters- then this is the book/series for you! Seriously! What are you waiting for- it’s a definite ‘must read’! Addictive reading! Can’t wait for more!
