Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2)Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. Lisa Lanay’s characters are complex and very lovable. The story line is engaging and simple. It is the simple things that make the world go around. It is refreshing to read a book that can pull into the story and take you away from the real world troubles for a while. This is a romance story with some humor to the story. Shannon and Zane is the couple in this story. Their story is one of sacrifice, love, and fate. Can Shannon and Zane become the cutest book couple or will the sacrifices be too much for their relationship.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn was an excellent and addicting romance novel. I could not put this book down. I loved the characters Emmy, Alex, Adam, Marcus, and the rest. They were developed well, relatable, and realistic. The author did an excellent job in describing the look and personality of each. The storyline was easy to follow, organized, and had an easy flow. I laughed, cried, and smiled while reading this book. This was such an excellent novel. I highly recommend it.

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beloved by Pamela DuMond is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This series keeps getting better but I highly recommend reading the books in order or you will be missing out. Evie is a highly paid courtesan down to her last four customers. She excels at her job of fixing these broken, billionaire men. These men all have a different relationship with her which makes for some interesting interactions. I enjoyed getting more concerning the relationships especially between Evie and Easton Wolfe. There is depth to the characters which I did not expect when I originally picked up the first book in the series. I look forward to more from this series in the future.

Never Date a SirenNever Date a Siren by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Never Date a Siren is a very apt title, as this book demonstrates throughout its entirety why you should never date a siren. I really enjoyed reading this book, it had a great plot and storyline. I feel like the events could have been a little more detailed and explained, while also on a clearer timeline. It makes more sense at the end, but in the beginning it was a little confusing, as the events seemed sporadically placed. I have no idea if there was a series or a set I was supposed to read before this one, but overall it was a good, entertaining story once the events caught up and became distinguished. I am intrigued to read the next in the series, and also can’t wait to read more from Byrd Nash.

Evie is a courtesan. An extremely well paid courtesan because of her empathic abilities. She manages to heal her clients who are suffering. I loved this book because she takes care of someone with personal ties to herself and manages to heal herself a little as well. I suggest reading this series from the beginning only because there is a story that runs through them all. People want different things from her including one that wants to murder her. The author is really good in keeping her stalker a secret. The book ends on an exciting note and I think I’ve figured out who her stalker is. I can’t wait to read the next installment to see if I’m right.

I loved reading this book. In Other Words (Boothbay Harbor Book 1) by Pamela Q. Fernandes is a story that pulls you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the final page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. It has some heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I enjoyed reading about Trish Holt and Michael Quentin. Trish has been betrayed by her boyfriend of three years. Not only that, the betrayal is with her manager. Michael is a local chief. Cooking is his passion. Another passion he is finding is being with Trish. Trish is trying to heal. Both Trish and Michael have issues that go back to childhood. Will those issues hold Michael back from letting Trish in? What does the future hold for Trish and Michael? Read this book to find out. This story deals with powerful emotions and hurt that runs deep. I couldn’t help but care about what happens to Michael and Trish. I wanted them to find happiness. There are other characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about their interactions with Trish and Michael. This is a story that touched my heart. Don’t miss out on an amazing story with wonderful characters. I highly recommend reading the book.

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Nicky Margaret

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis #1)The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Rise of House Valdis: House of Valdis book 1 by Naomi Valkyrie is a 3 star read.
Xenobia is from another planet and has spent the last seven years on earth protecting women who are in the sex trade, women she rescued from a man named Javier. The only person who knows who she really is is her best friend Maggie. A man comes to her telling her that Javier wants the girls back and shows that he will do anything to get them back, this puts Xenobia in a tough spot that she needs to put more of herself out there and trust more people with who she really is.
Reading the blurb of this book had me thinking the book was going to be different to what it is, the story flowed in parts but it would then give some of the story from multiple points of view and I felt that I was going backwards instead of forwards, I did enjoy some of this book but it jumped around and I felt that parts of the story that needed to be told were missing, this is all my own opinion and I would suggest reading for yourself and making your own mind up.

Ink’s Devil (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #5) by Manda Mellett

5 Amazing Stars

Well, she did it again. I am completely out of words when it comes to reviewing Manda Mellett’s books..What more can I say that I haven’t already? She’s amazing, she’s awesome, she keeps every book fresh and unique, no 2 are ever alike, and every time I finish one I want to start all over and read ALL of them again and immediately go and check all her pages to see when I’ll have the next one in my hands.

Oh and every one of them makes me react with…This one was my favorite! Seriously though this one had me all messed up…I wanted to crawl inside the book and run back and forth making sure everyone had their stories straight, I was so scared of what might happen. I was so torn with how the club acted in some parts of this book, on the one hand I hated them but then on the other I totally understood because they didn’t know the whole story and since I did I wanted again to jump in the book and make things all better.

I loved Mace in this story, did he anger me, Yes, but I felt his loyalty and understood him so much better. I also loved his POV being a major part of Ink and Beth’s story, that was done beautifully.

I am completely invested in this whole Satan’s Devils MC story, all of them and can not wait for every book there is to come…I will someday sit down and read all of them again, all the way back to Turning Wheels, and would love to have them all sitting on my bookshelf where all my other favorites live.

No clues on who is next but I tend to believe it’s maybe Mace? Could be Liz, but I’m thinking it would be awesome for Dirt to get his story told, he has a story to tell, I can feel it and it would be awesome to move into a hangaround’s story and see that side especially since he played a huge part in this one.

Doesn’t matter though, I’ll have whoever it is the minute I possible can 🙂

Read these…One Click them all!!!

This is an author I never hesitate to pick up as her books are that good. Her writing skills and ability to pull me into her stories keep me turning pages. This book is no different. It is a creative, well written story that is engaging with characters that pop off the pages. Sarah and James are two people who don’t want a relationship which makes them perfect for each other. What happens when it turns into more than just benefits? Now they are faced with chosing which side of the mountain to climb – passion or heartbreak. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens with them, which side will they choose.

I enjoyed this book. This is my first book by this author and I will be looking for more. This is a well developed page turner that I was pulled into right from the start. Her attention to detail along with the characters made me feel as if I was right there in the story. Emmy and Alex are great, strong characters. They are about to find out how complicated life can be for them. The past and present come together to make decisions hard but will it be worth fighting for? I highly recommend this book.

The emotional rollercoaster had me turning pages fast. It is well written and engaging. The characters are connectable and brought the story to life. Trish has had some bad relationships and her last one is no different. She moves next door to a chef that may just change her mind about romance. What will happen when the past and tradition are called into play? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with these two.

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1)
By Phoebe Alexander
5 out of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1) by Phoebe Alexander had me hooked from the beginning and I soon found myself lost in the story. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Dr. Sarah Lynde and Army First Sergeant James McAllister. Sarah is a woman who is intelligent, a single mother, and a sociology professor. She is looking for a new friend with benefits. That is when she meets James. James is a man that is in the Army, loves to read, and never knows when his next deployment will come. He is a man that knows he will one day want to settle down but for the time being, he is just looking for a diversion. Then he meets Sarah. The physical chemistry between Sarah and James is very strong. They share a strong connection. What starts out as something casual starts to turn into something more. What does the future hold for Sarah and James? Read this book to find out. This is the first book in a series and is very steamy. Sarah is not shy about having an open relationship. James and Sarah are likable characters and I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. There are other characters that are introduced that I enjoyed reading about as well. Sarah has a bestie that is a true friend and helpful to her. This story has both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments that had my emotions going up and down. Don’t miss out on the first book of James and Sarah’s story. I can’t wait to read the next one.

I loved reading this book. Before the Second Show by Thia Finn pulled me in from the very beginning and I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I finished the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Emmy and Alex. Emmy fell in love with a rock star at sixteen. He, however, moves on with ease to his next tour. Years later life has a way of becoming complicated when she has one man wanting her and another standing in the way. Alex has never had a problem with women. He could have anyone he wants. What happens when someone from the past who he can’t remember reenters his life? Alex is finding that he is starting to have feelings/emotions for this girl. What does the future hold for Emmy and Alex? Will a life-altering battle change everything for Alex? Read this book to find out. This story has emotional moments. It also has moments when characters banter back and forth with each other and I found myself laughing. The characters of Alex and Emmy are likable, and I couldn’t help but care about what happens in their lives. I really enjoyed the character that is Emmy’s bestie and their interactions. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that will have you reading late into the night to find out what happens. I would highly recommend reading this book.

But someone is always ready to change things for Jake. He is framed, and it is he who must prove his innocence. All the while protecting his loved ones and friends. It’s a race against time.

I love reading Mark Nolan‘s books. Everyone of his characters play a hot part in his story. Fletcher has a way with words that pulls at your heart strings. You connect with the characters almost immediately and become so invested in the storyline. This third book in the series was one I didn’t know I needed, about a character introduced in the first book I didn’t even think I would want to learn much more about. But boy am I glad we had this storyline to follow. I cannot say how much I enjoyed it because my heart is still processing it. But hands down this author is a one-click for me. Ink's Devil: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #5Ink’s Devil: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #5 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ink’s Devil: Satan’s Devils MC was a great 5 star read and book five in Satan’s Devils MC: Colorado Chapter series. I was pulled in right from the beginning.

We start with Ink at a wedding for one of his MC brothers. He meets this really tall woman with blue hair. She gets bold and approaches Ink about having a hot and steamy night together. It was great the way these two went back and forth and felt like they had something to prove to each other in bed. It was a hot and steamy evening for sure.

Beth had her sights on Ink, she showed confidence in her approach and knew what she wanted. It’s not often she finds a hot guy that is taller than her. Ink makes it very clear to Beth that it’s only for one night, but can these two really leave it at that?

Things take a twist with a club party that Beth attends and they end up in bed again. Things get even more interesting when Beth gets a call from her brother. Overall I really enjoyed this read and I loved Ink and Beth. All of the secondary characters were great. Manda Mellett has pulled me in once again with her writing and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, #3)A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book 3) by K.G. Fletcher is a very emotive story and the feelings felt real and raw. Fiona has gone from villain and stuck up rich girl to real and feeling which had me wondering exactly how it would work but KG did a great job of making it work. This story grabbed me right in the heart and swept me away.

Fiona has always been a stuck-up rich girl, but the parties and life is getting old. She wants more and what her friends have. It’s NYE and she should be enjoying herself but it’s not happening. What she does do is surprise herself when she asks someone to enter into a deal with her but what she doesn’t realise is that that deal is one of the best things she has ever done in her life.

Chris doesn’t know whether or not she is serious, but it seems she is. When he agrees to her terms, he didn’t know that it would change is life forever.

KG is a story teller that brings a story to life. It is a quick read but a good read. Perfect for a peaceful afternoon.

Ink's Devil: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #5Ink’s Devil: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #5 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ink has had the kind of life that has made him swear off relationships and keeps to his very strict rules for himself. Don’t get involved, and just have fun. But like with life, nothing is set in stone. The only ones he trusts are his brothers, not those outside the club who can easily muck up his way of life. he’s happy with where he’s at until he meets Beth. She changes his life in more than one way.

Beth has seen a lot in her life that has left her wanting to walk away from people. She knows what it means to be hurt and bullied. It’s because of others stupidity that she leads the life she does, its why she doesn’t trust many. But when she sees how trusting and opening up has worked for her friend, she thinks maybe she can be that way too. She’s fascinated by Ink when they meet, and she wants to know more. Even if she has one moment with him, its a memory that can last her forever she thinks.

Neither one expected to have their feelings catch and hold on. They get lost in each other until the moment it all blows up. Because of her idiot brother, their world implodes and suddenly Ink is ripped away from Beth. He’s unfortunately on the receiving end of setup and he takes the fall. Beth is tired of letting herself be walked over and this is the time to step up and fight for what she loves, or in this case, who she loves. Together they have to make things right, make sure the right one takes the fall and then figure out where they go with their love story.

I loved the roller coaster of emotions that are brought out by this book! I felt so connected to both Ink and Beth and wanted so badly for their story to be a happy ending. Of course, you know, my heart had to be ripped up and thrown around a few times before it was put back together as they made their way to the end. I really respected their core values as people who wanted to do good in the world even if it was frowned upon. This was a fantastic book that is so worth the binge read!

Ink’s Devil (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #5) by Manda Mellett – Review by Gail Guerrero

Four stars

I hated being the awkward kid in school. You don’t really fit in and you develop bad habits that you carry into adulthood. Beth is tall and you can tell that she didn’t have it easy. She is shy and sweet. I was unsure if I would enjoy this story since its different from other biker books. But it turned out great. The author pulls through with the characters and plot. The growth you see with Beth is beautiful. We all deserve to feel confident and beautiful. Our height, size, shape or age shouldn’t stop us from living our best lives. Ink was a douche and he got what he deserved. I liked that he was straightforward about it being one night. I also think he could’ve done better all around with how he treated her. He does win me over by the middle of the book. What he sacrifices for her is undeniably the most amazing part. Family is supposed to have your back not be the ones stabbing it. You see a lot of heart break and betrayal throughout the story. The author really pulls on your heart strings.

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, #3)A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am glad K.G. Fletcher wrote A Sun So Bright, the 3rd book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book is the story of Fiona Merrill and Chris Ballard. Fiona is a billionaire heiress, who was handed life on a silver platter. Her dad was loaded and never spared an expense to show his love for his only daughter. Now that he’s passed, she spends her days as a socialite, going to lunch with her rich friends, or charity dinners. She has been single for too long, so when fate bring her and Chris back together, she takes matters into her own hands and hires him as her plus one. Chris comes from an entirely different world. Very blue collar, bar tender, and son of a cop. He has worked hard his entire life and cannot be a kept man. As the chemistry heats up, they both are left to decide what they are willing to compromise.
I love the different view of this story. It allows us to see a whole different side of Fiona. In the previous books she comes off as a spoiled rich kid, which she is. However, she is also portrayed as a complete and total B. I actually loved her by the end of this book, and it was nice to see her develop and mature as the story progressed. The chemistry between her and Chris is off the charts. I love this series because they are romantic stories that are kept clean, and allow the readers to get to know the characters individually and together. Highly recommend them.

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Journeys Through SpaceTime is an exceptionally in-depth, complex story that takes you on a journey through multiple worlds and times. You get a clear, vivid picture of each world and of all the characters as you delve into this mysterious novel. I struggled with finding the connections at times, but thoroughly enjoyed reading about each of the characters separately and getting to know them and the fantastical worlds they lived in. I would honestly love to see this broken down into one book for each world, and then tie the worlds together in a final book! There is so much to learn about each world and the characters within that I think this would definitely be doable!

This is not a quick read. You need to allow yourself at least a week to travel on this journey in order to really grasp the concepts depicted and keep each world straight in your mind. You will probably want to read it more than once as there is a lot going on! Loads of action, mystery, deceit, magic, and an abundance of thought provoking narrative that will have your brain working overtime! While this is not normally my genre of choice, if you are a fan of sci-fi and multiverse theory, this one will definitely hold your interest from beginning to end! You can most definitely tell this author is very passionate about this subject matter!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a sweet story that brought me to tears. I’m not sure how this author does it. But again she wrote a smashing story full of entertaining characters with love to mix it all together. Fiona I was not a fan of early on because I knew her from Run to the Sea (Book 1 in this series). So the author took me on a Trip filled with all things Fiona. Some I knew…others I didn’t but she didn’t surprise me with her proposal to Chris. She did surprise me as the story went on as she finds her purpose.

Another great story to add to this series. The author knows how to write and weave a story to make me feel things. Happy, sad laughing and yes I mentioned tears.

Beloved is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I highly recommend reading the first two books before jumping in to this book. Ms. DuMond’s characters are fully developed and complex personalities. There are different levels of support for one another. The characters are also a bit dark but are intrinsic to each other. The story is a roller coaster ride. Evie, who is one of the main characters, has only four clients left and of the four there is one who wants Evie dead. I found myself reading at a fast pace because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. I suggest reading this book to see what happens to Evie.

Landing the Lawman, (Hills of Texas #5) A Hills of Texas Romance, by Kadie Scott.
This is the fifth book in this series. I have read all of the books in this series so far, and I have absolutely loved every single one of them!!!
We have seen glimpses of Carter Hill throughout this series, so to finally get her story, was great!!! Carter and Logan have off the charts chemistry. Carter left her family and her fiancé because she wanted her career. Years have passed and she is seeing all of her brothers happily married with children here or on the way, and she knows that is what she wants. The only person in her sights to make this happen, is Logan……. they work extremely well together, could they possibly be more than just “friends”??
There are parts of Logan’s life that no one knows about. With him being on the Hill’s ranch, everything is coming back and he has to deal with not only his past but also his feelings towards Carter…. The only issue is: Logan doesn’t do relationships….. will things change or is heartache in the future for Logan and Carter????

Although there were a few times where the story seemed to lose direction or momentum a little it was still enough to keep my attention the whole way through. This was a fun book to read and I hope we get more from the series in the future.

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L.Montgomery – Review by Caitriona Brauders

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your BodyThe Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not a self help book but a self love book.

This isn’t the type of book I normally read but took more from it than I thought I would.
Yes, it is aimed at plus sized women but I believe that everyone should try to love their body because it’s the only one we get get and although it is a long process, this book will give you some essential tips to help you achieve that. It opened my eyes to some issues plus sized women go through and I have learned valuable lessons in what is appropriate to say to friends and family when they say things about their weight.

This isn’t just a book, it’s a self love journal and a self love bible.
