Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters was an excellent read! I absolutely loved how easily this novel pulled me in! I could not put it down. It was creative, fun, and full of adventure. The characters were realistic and developed well. The author describes each one in an easy to visualize manner. I also loved how descriptive the author described the various settings. Since this is the first book in this series, I am extremely excited for what comes next. I highly recommend this book.

SECRETS NEVER DIE by Laurie Lewis. This book is amazing. So fast paced and such a mystery. It’s the story of Tallie Brown and her mom Julia. Julia has raised Tallie in complete isolation until about 7 years ago and they move to the Pacific Northwest. When her mom dies suddenly Tallie is left wondering about her mom’s past and her own future. Looking thru some photographs she’s lead to believe her mom may have been hiding Tallie’s family from her. Jackson James is a journalistic star until he makes a horrible mistake that takes him out of the game almost completely. When a lead is literally dropped in his lap he rushes to Cutler’s Ridge, a dying Coal town, to follow the lead where he runs into the beautiful Tallie. Their two journey’s collide and leave them both wondering if they will ever truly find out the mystery of Tallie’s past. Read Secrets Never Die you won’t be disappointed it will keep you on your toes until the very end.

This is a well written story that has characters that pop off the pages and into your heart. A story of never dying love, a strong love and second chances. Charlie packs her children up and returns home, hoping to find herself again. Jonathan has been trying to out run his past but when he finds himself back in his hometown, he may just hit his past face on. These two have history, is there a second chance in their future or will lies destroy what’s left? I highly recommend this book.

I love this series, my favorite from this author yet. I love when an author is able to pull me into a story plus leave me sitting on the edge of my seat at the same which is exactly what this author has done with each of these books. Each book has mystery and page turning suspene. The characters go through different situations from running from dangerous eneimes and the past to chance of survival. You won’t regret picking up this boxset, the twists and turns will leaving you turning pages!
Hitting the High Note is the third book in C.A. King’s fantasy series of Four Horsemen Novels. The series takes place in a modern day setting with a beautiful and elaborate mythology at its heart. There are demigods and demons, fighting over the fate of the world. There are horsemen and there are keys – soulmates tied together by their destiny. As the title suggests, the protagonist of Hitting the High Note is a musician. Bekka has worked in her family music shop all her life, and it seems likely she will continue running it unless she plucks up the courage to audition for an orchestra. I enjoyed how the music was threaded through the plot – I’ve always been a fan of musical magic! I also appreciated Bekka’s taste for tea – the descriptions of her making and drinking tea made my mouth water! This series is fantastic – the world is well developed and complex and the mythology links in with various familiar mythologies whilst still being unique and surprising. The characters at the centre of each book continue to appear in the background of subsequent books, so it’s great to catch up on them. And Uriel, the horseman this book focuses on, has already appeared in the past so I was eager to learn more of his character. I would recommend reading the books in order, to get the full story, although King does a good job of reminding readers of what has happened so you could probably get away with reading this on its own if you’re particularly after a fantasy book about music. For me, this is another five star book. It’s a great series, and I’m particularly excited about having a music-focused book! I’d recommend the series to fans of mythology and urban fantasy. Looking forward to reading the next one!

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase is the first instalment in an exciting and sexy new series. Set in the world of fame and fortune, this has the making to be your new guilty pleasure. Throw in some arrogant actors and a small-town heroine, you know you’re in for a treat.
If you’re not a fan of insta-love, this might not be the read for you. This book moves fast, but that’s to be expected in such a short read. The author doesn’t skimp on setting the scene though, and I felt like I had a good idea of Chase’s character in the opening chapters. I won’t say that my judgements were completely inaccurate, but there are definitely some surprises along the way. From the blurb we know that Chase isn’t going to be the most endearing of men, but he has his own way of charming the ladies, including myself and his wife, Carrie. We know they’ll be married, but what we don’t know is the circumstances. As for Carrie, I’m torn! You know what you’re getting with Chase, but Carrie’s character left me feeling a little conflicted. When we first meet her, I like her principles and values. But these seemed to get confused and lost as her relationship with Chase heats up and I struggled with some of the contradictions being made. If you can get past this, both Carrie and the story are really quite enjoyable reads, especially if you need a quick fix of drama and passion.
While I’m left with some questions, this was a fun little read that I got through in one evening. I haven’t read too many actor-type romance reads, so it was interesting to delve into an unfamiliar genre. It has definitely caught my interests and I think I’ll be looking out for the next book in this series; I want to see how the characters progress!

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide is a fun read that will let your easily get lost within the characters. This book is the perfect easy read. The characters and fun and interesting. I often found myself amused by them. They were engaging and entertaining. I liked that the story wasn’t too heavy at all. A lot of books nowadays tend to try and take themselves too seriously. The author however stuck to a fun and easy romance which I think makes this book better. This is the first hook that I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last.

Beneath the Fallen City is the first book in The Omni Towers Series by Jamie A. Waters. I really loved this book- the story really drew me in and had me avidly following along on this incredible journey. The story is a mix of dystopian, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, fantasy, action, and adventure. It’s quite unpredictable and kept me guessing much of the time. With tension, intrigue, danger, secrets, revenge, discoveries, scavengers, traders, and plenty of drama to keep things moving along- I was completely captivated. I fell in love with Jamie A. Water’s stories, imagination, and writing style after reading “How to Kill a Fae”, just recently, and there began my fascination with her work. When I found this book- I knew I NEEDED to read it, so I grabbed a copy and dove right in. What I discovered between the covers was an incredibly well-woven story full of rich and vibrant details which brought the whole story to life. The characters are cleverly crafted into fully realised interesting and complex individuals, with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws. The world building is superb- Ms. Water’s skillfully created a complex, vividly detailed, and interesting world in which to stage her story. As I noted previously, her attention to detail is remarkable- giving the story much depth and complexity. Kayla is a scavenger in this post-apocalyptic world- searching the ruins of cities for anything valuable as her means of survival. We join her on this adventure as her scavenging brings her to the attention of a trader intent on recruiting her- as well as a dangerous man who begins hunting her. She soon discovers that nothing is what it seems- and she is thrust into way more than she bargained for. And so the excitement begins. This was such a fantastic start to the series- and I can’t wait to continue the adventure!

Sugar and Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander 4 Stars
I’ve read other books by Phoebe Alexander and enjoyed them. This was no different. It was a fun, light read with a lot of steamy romance thrown in. It was amusing to see what goes on behind the scenes of the theme park. Cy Sweet is the youngest son of the Sweets, owners of Sweetopia. They send him undercover to work in the bakery to find out who is leading the revolt that’s in the works. The moment Cy lays eyes on the Red Velvet Queen, he quickly gets sidetracked from his objective. The better he gets to know Jolie, the harder he falls. Working in the theme park is an eye opener for Cy. Can their budding romance survive the secrets that they are both hiding?
To be honest, I really didn’t like Cy. He was arrogant, selfish and full of himself; a total spoiled brat. Thankfully he changed throughout the book where by the end, I was on team Cy, cheering him on. It was a fun read and I’m interested to see what happens in part two.

Dark Feathers is a paranormal romance by Natalina Reis. It is a standalone novel, set in the same world as her book Lavender Fields with many characters appearing from the earlier book. It follows Phoenix, a dark angel sent to spy on Joan, a young woman who could see him when he was supposed to be invisible to humans. Joan’s search for a roommate provides the perfect opportunity for Phoenix to keep an eye on her, and (of course) fall in love. Reis has a well-established system of angels, and Lavender Fields has already given us plenty of insight into the trouble they can get into. Although much of the world-building has been done before, Phoenix being a dark angel gives Reis a chance to explore more of the system and remind or introduce readers to the world from a different perspective. Joan is a caring, loveable character. Her passion for baking speaks of her commitment to making others happy, and she is quick to note Phoenix’s favourite type of cookies. Phoenix is at times broody and reclusive, and Joan works hard to cheer him up and bring him out of his shell. As someone whose life experience so far has consisted almost entirely of pain and suffering, including sexual abuse, the positive and loving relationship does wonders for Phoenix, who reciprocates by setting out to protect Joan regardless of the cost. This is an enjoyable page-turner of a book – definitely five stars! I would recommend it to fans of angel romances (and, let’s face it, who doesn’t enjoy a good angel romance?). You can definitely enjoy this book without having read Lavender Fields, but for me it was really great seeing how Caleb and Sky were getting on.

I absolutely adore the Johnny Delarosa Thrillers and Toxic Blonde was no exception to that. This book once again brings it all home with action, adventure, drama, suspense, and a bit of romance to keep things sweet, or spicy depending on how you want to look at it.
In Toxic Blonde we find Johnny Delarosa at it again trying to work a cheating spouse case. These tend to be what he is best at and despite the fact that things tend to get a bit more messy and complicated only seems to fuel his desire for these cases.
“Infidelity pays the bills, so says a wise old private eye.”
I really enjoyed Keira Kane, our main female character and as promised “the most beautiful femme fatale to ever travel the pages of crime fiction.” She definitely makes for some interesting reading. I would have to say she easily makes this one of my favorite sleuth/mystery reads that I have stumbled upon in years. I am so looking forward to seeing what the next Johnny Delarosa book will bring us.

Wow! What can I say about The Fisher Men On The X by Rebel Nicks O’Dey? First thing – this book needs to come with a ‘tissues required’ warning. My heart was breaking a few times during this book. I have to say that a much as I loved the 2 previous books in this series, this one really blew it out of the water. It’s definitely my favourite so far. This book can be read as a standalone but in my opinion I think the reader would get much more from the story by reading books 1 and 2 first. They are excellent books too so that’s an added bonus. In this book it is the turn of the other twin, Zack to have his story told and it’s one hell of a story. Zack is so broken that you just want to envelop him in a huge hug (although he wouldn’t actually like that). He is just the sweetest guy and my heart broke for him so many times. Becca is the badass feisty woman that he first met as a young girl when he was captured into the Seh (a religious cult) as a teenager. The book takes us though the stages of Becca growing older and becoming the amazing woman she was destined to be. Be prepared to be taken on a roller coaster of emotions as you go through this book. It is most definitely a page turner that will have you on the edge of your seat. I loved that we got to see the other Fisher Men and their significant others and friends and got to catch up with them. We also got a little teaser of what’s to come next and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the final Fisher Man.

Bekka owns a small music store passed down through her family and must make ends meet in order to keep it running. But her love of music makes her even more determined to make sure this works. Unfortunately, her people skills are not that great. Part of her wishes she could be more like her best friend, Veronica. But Veronica has her own issues — she is constantly searching for the one man to make her dreams come true. She has this pull — this need — to find the right one.
Uriel, one of the four horsemen, loves the wide openness of the country, but a lead takes him into the heart of the city. There he runs into all sorts of things telling him the demons are closer than he believed. Can he stop the demons from getting what they are after? Can he find it himself? What about these two girls who look like twins? Is what his family says true?
It has been quite a while since I have read book two, but I was quickly reminded just how much I like these books and characters. While the suspense part of the series continues, the love story part is quite different from the previous books. Just when you think the story will go one way, it surprises you and does something completely different. I love to be kept guessing in this way. And the fact that our favorite family is back makes it that much better. The author quickly draws you in and I eagerly await the next book to see what is next.
If you are a fan of the paranormal, I highly recommend this book and series.

Kadie Scott can write one mean cowboy alpha male love story. I have read the previous three books in The Hills of Texas series and enjoyed each one. Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas adds an extra bit of sparkle and magic with the Christmas season as a lovely backdrop to the festivities that take place in the book. For that reason alone I truly enjoyed this book. The bonus was the relationship disaster that is Jennings Hill and Ashley Hughes.
Ashley has struggled with the idea of putting on her supportive and happy face while she attends the wedding of her sister and her EX. Yes her ex is marrying her sister. As if the stress of this isn’t enough she is faced with her ex best friend, Jennings. Jennings has had crazy feelings for Ashley since day one. A falling out has made even a friendship seem impossible to attain. Then the rumor mill gets started and things get even more complicated for these two. Will they be able to get over the past? Can Jennings be the man Ashley has overlooked all those years?
I will say this wasn’t my favorite of the series, I was just left wanting a bit more from the characters and more of a deep and thoughtful backstory. I did enjoy it and it was a nice light and airy rainy day read. I will be back to see what else is in store for the series!

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott. I loved this story, I was so excited to read this story because just from the description I was hooked. This may be book 4 but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone without any confusion. Ok so this one may be my favorite one yet but shh don’t tell the others! Ashley and Jennings will forever have a special place in my heart, they completely hooked me into their world and wouldn’t let go. Each character is complex, relatable and brings something unique to the story. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I love a good Christmas type heartwarming story. Five stars all the way! I need me a Christmas cowboy.

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone is an absolute must read before you even start thinking about reading the third book in her Brothers of Camelot series! My Life series gives us the story of the daughter of the Capo of the Italian Canzano Crime family Alessandra Canzano in three parts. It is a story that gets its hooks into the reading from page one and doesn’t let you go. I was so relieved being able to delve into Brothers of Camelot series and finding out what the future had in store for her! The first book “My Hidden Life” introduces us to Alessandra’s life when she is just six years old and training to be the hair to the family. It is a life that she needs to hide from everyone in her life and there is no way for her to keep her feeling as a normal girl. The second book “My Tragic Life” turns Alessandra’s life from miserable into tragic! She has no control over anything – it is her father, the Capo that rules over everything! Her life becomes her worst nightmare when a rival Family strikes out against her Family. The third book “My Free Life” sees Alessandra as the Capo Donna and the power struggle between her and her father. To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters. I’m just going to start this review with wow, Because honestly no words will do this story justice. I’m a person that truly has to be in the mood for a fantasy type story but from the description I hoped right in and was taken on quite the adventure. The characters are so well written and you can’t help but get drawn into their world. I was constantly finding myself trying to read faster so I could see what happens while also not wanting it to end. The author takes readers to a whole new world and I loved it. I can’t wait for more! Five stars all the way and highly recommend!

A Dark Sparrow Box Set includes the first three books in India Kells’ Dark Sparrow series! I have read the whole series and I love the present we have been given – getting three in one! If you want to get a start on a binge reading of a great series then this set is for you! (I promise you will not finish with just these three, you want to reach for the next one in the series as well and then we will be in the same boat … waiting!) Dark Sparrows gives us the stories of six men fathered by the same bastard evil man! In the set we meet three of the brothers … they are as different AND as same as they can be! From orphaned and alone to rich and controlled and then a seemingly beach bum with a deadly skill set! Each of the men come with a woman that has her own secrets and pain … I have really hard time to tell you who is my favourite, it changes with each book (meaning with each brother I change my favourite) so who knows what will happen when the next brother enters (well, he already has so I know I will change my favourite order)! This story is the first for me by Allyson Simonian. It was a surprisingly fast read, almost too fast as just as I was getting into the characters it was over. However, it was entertaining enough for me to want to read other stories by Simonian. This series definitely has potential.
Chase and Carrie are two very different characters drawn together by love and attraction. What they do with that love is what makes this story interesting.
Looking forward to reading more about this couple and others that follow.

Sugar and Spice by Phoebe Alexander is the first book in the Spicetopia series. This was an excellent, easy to read book and I enjoyed every minute of it from start to finish. The characters were very well developed and lovable. Cy Sweet is going undercover in his family’s children theme park to get the inside scoop on a situation that the Sweets are hoping to prevent from progressing. He is thrown off balance by the beautiful, single mom, Jolie Cox dressed to the T in the Red Velvet Queen costume. The two have a great and sparkling connection although there are many untold truths that lie between them. I loved reading about both Cy and Jolie’s life and watching their personalities come into the light. This is a brilliant book that contains an entertaining plot. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

5 Star Imprisoned Online: Gaming the System (A LitRPG Adventure Book 1) by P.A. Wikoff is a Sci-Fi Fantasy with adventure, action,drama,video gaming. It started out a bit slow and I had a hard time getting into but once it picked up I had a hard time putting it down. Seph isn’t a gamer but has been sentenced to a virtual correctional facility in which he’ll have to play one. Can he survive the game? Find out what happens next in this must read. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase, is the first book in The Holmby Hills series by Allyson Simonian it was also my first read by this author. It is a short story- and made for a quick and easy read. This was a good story it had some drama, a little mystery and some secrets. The characters are well written, and the plot was amazing.
Chase McDaniel is an actor and is Selfish, Self-centered, Arrogant. He also has money he ever needs; he finds a different woman to keep him company whenever he wants, and he seems happy. When a story pops up that Chase was with a minor, he denies it. The club he went to was a twenty-one and over club. The girl must’ve had a fake Id. Now Chase is worries about his image.
Carries is a high school teacher and she is taking the summer to filling in for Susan over in wardrobe and then she is going back to Texas. But fate has different plans for her when she starts seeing Chase when their relationship is on the fast track to marriage. Its not all rainbows and rose they have trouble in their marriage it seems like they can’t connect is it because they are from different worlds?
Can they move past their differences? Will Carrie for give him when the truth comes out? Will they have a happily ever after or go their separate ways?
I highly recommend this story and can’t wait to read Aiden…

This is a story about Chase. Hes an actor and a player. He can have any women he wants and he normally does.
Until one day Carrie walks into his life and turns it upside down. After a couple of weeks Chase decides to give up his celebrity life and settle down with Carrie.
However things arent as rosy as they both thought it would be. Chase is selfish and only thinks of himself and what he wants, Carrie is feeling lost and alone.
Can they rebuild the relationship they had at the beginning or is Chase to selfish to change his ways.

Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A. Waters is the first book in the Omni Towers series. This is an interesting and imaginative book to read. I have to say that this book surprised me. I expected it to be pretty similar to others that I have read like it however the story wasn’t what I expected. It started down one path and the the author seemed to completely change direction with it, making it wholly unpredictable. The characters were fun to read about as well. The interactions between them were always varied. I think this is a great start so far to the series and I can’t wait to read more!

Imprisoned Online: Gaming the System (A LitRPG Adventure Book 1) P.A. Wikoff. While not in my normal wheelhouse of reading I did find this an interesting read. It’s got plenty of adventure and action. It’s a unique story and I liked how different it is to the story world. Characters are complex and well developed. Storyline had a way of drawing me in and I soon found myself not being able to put it down. It’s a well written storyline and I liked the pace. I was pleasantly surprised by the way I like it, not because the author did anything wrong just because it’s not something I’d normally pick up but I’m definitely glad I game it a try and think you should to. I’m giving this story a four star review and recommend it.

Chicken Scratch (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series Book 1) by Becki Willis was an excellent mystery suspense novel. It was immediately addicting with the opening chapter of main character Madison finding a body in a chicken house. I can imagine how terrible the smell was and felt the author did an awesome job depicting the scene. Over all the author did excellent with the various detail involved in the setting making it easy for readers to visualize as they read. I loved that it is based in Texas and that I also share a first name with one of the main characters. Brash, Madi, and all other characters were developed and depicted well. This was such an excellent read. I highly recommend it!

This is hands down one of my favorite series! Everyone needs to pick this one up! This is one of those series that give you all the feels and keep you diving into more. I devoured each book and dived into the next one because I needed to know what happened! This series is definitely a one click series and then some!

I loved Carrie’s point of view, it was relevant and added to the plot. Carrie was a beautiful romantic character and I instantly loved her. Chase was arrogant, self centered, and selfish. Chase was beautifully written, I instantly felt like he was not worthy.
