The Brass Compass by Ellen Butler is a historical fiction story taking place in World War II. Lily Saint James, an American spy, is sent to work for a family in Germany. This story is great. There is a lot to this story and I did not want to put it down and wanted to read all the way through. Lily was a fascinating character and I felt like I was right there by her. I really enjoy stories based on historical facts and put into a fiction story. I hope to see more of these books in the future by Ellen Butler.

FURBIDDEN ATTRACTION is a quick and easy read that I read in one sitting. It has a really nice cadence with a nice give and take between the 2 main characters.
Secondary characters all play a roll in the story and while they are obviously being introduced for future stories, their actions aren’t fillers.
This story has a sense of humor that I was not expecting “There was a strange man in her apartment, possibly a serial killer. A naked serial killer who clearly had a gym membership. ”
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Alex: An Eidolon Black Ops Novel is by Maddie Wade is wonderfully written Romance suspense. This fast paved read was one that I could not put down. The story follows Alex and Evelyn. Years ago when Alex was just 18, he proposed to his soul mate Evelyn. But when she disappeared, his life changed in many ways. Evelyn had her dreams stolen and became the feared assassin Siren, she is able to seduce and get man to tell their sick secrets before she killed them. When Alex finally sees her years later, he sees the girl he once loved killing a man, he vows right there to have nothing to with her. When Alex is handed his new case, He sees that someone has a hit out on Siren, and he must be one the one to kill her. This BOOK was SO good and just a thriller that I did not want to put it down. Both main characters are strong and really make this book what it is! I highly recommend this five star read and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
So I’ma sucker for sport romances, not just because I love sports but adding in my two loves just does it for me. This is a new author for me and sports romance and it did not disappoint. I stayed up so late reading this. I had no care in the world in losing the sleep!
This is a story of 2 people living the horrid burn of a bad relationships. Matthew and Rose are timid of this relationship that blooms but the chemistry was undeniable and so believable. this whole book felt so real!
I loved this book so much I’m dying to get into book 2!

Wow! This book just takes off running and never really lets up! I highly suggest reading books 1 and 2 as this builds on from those. As if Dahlia hasn’t been through enough already, the world has more to give and she faces it head on. I really enjoyed this book and this author has a way of building a world in your head. I love that when I read, like im right there with the characters going through everything they are.

Cult (Feisty Lawyers Book 3) by Seelie Kay is an interesting story of women going missing from college campus and the usual troops from the operatives putting together all the pieces, going undercover and catching the bad guys. I love the Feisty Lawyers characters and the journey that Seelie puts them through. Seelie’s writing makes it easy to visualize what is going on around them and the world in which she has created.

Enemies of the Desert (Silent Secrets Series Book 3) by Lisette Kristensen is another exciting book in this series. It is a story of badass women who are trained in espionage and are members of an elite group that deals with terrorism. This series has me hooked is a definite page turner. Espionage and lies, secrets and terrorists, suspense and murder are only a fraction of what is in this story.
Blackbird is on her way to being one heck of an operator and she has been picked to be on a mission where her identity has been compromised by the one person who wants her dead.
This is one series that should be on your TBR list.

Steele Resolve (The Hawke Family Book 6) by Gwyn McNamee is sadly the last book in this great series. I suggest you read all the books in the series in order so that you get the complete picture and backstories of all the wonderful characters. I have come to love all of the characters in this series and am glad that Gwyn included Luca as part of the Hawke family. This sexy M/M romance is a story where it is bad enough being a mob boss without throwing being gay into the mix makes for one suspenseful and explosive story.
Luca has come home and wants back into the Hawke family that he had when they were younger but when your are the son of one of the most .mob bosses, you are by default just as bad as your surname. What he didn’t expect was to find the one person who could make his life complete.
Byron can’t stop thinking about the man he had just had a one night stand and when that person turns up for a meeting with the Hawke’s he realises just how much of a mess his life is now in. Will he reveal the truth to the people he sees as family or will he walk away from the best thing that has ever happened.
This story was so good I am sorry to see the series end but can’t wait to see what Gwyn has in store for us in the future.

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn tells the intriguing, interesting and at times complicated love story between Kenzie Rose and Nicholas Parker. Both characters are flawed and intense making this a roller coaster of a ride that all begins with a chance meeting one rainy afternoon. I was drawn into this story from the very first page. I felt for Kenzie Rose and couldn’t wait to delve more into her backstory, she was just one of those characters you read and feel as if they are a real person and you become invested in them. Then comes Nicholas, who is just tragic! As a reader you can’t help feeling his pain. You want these two to overcome and succeed. I flew through the first book it was just that good and I couldn’t wait to continue on to the second. While good also, I felt like the second part dragged, maybe it was a bit drawn out and too descriptive and I found myself skimming at times to get to the good stuff. I would definitely recommend this duet and just say to hang in there during the second installment it will all be worth it in the end.

A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair is a beautiful stand alone novel. It made me realize things about myself that I had never considered before. The author really did her research and found the best way to handle a bad situation. The support of the women in this story is amazing! This one with bring a tear to your eye and make you grateful to be alive.

Manda Mellett, just keeps getting better and better! Devil Due is book 3 in the Colorado Chapter Series. I was totally captivated by this read right from the very beginning until the end and I never wanted to put the reader down. Each of Manda Mellett’s reads gets better and better. She continues to create characters that are intriguing and really give this story its extra depth. This book is fast-paced, engaging and action-packed. The characters have chemistry that is off the charts and i absolutely loved following these characters journey. Even though this story is part of a series, they can be read as a stand-alone, but for the ultimate read with a variety of characters that you will come to love and feel as though you are there alongside them, you need to read all of them in this series! Each book is just as brilliant and amazing as the one before, you will not want to put these reads down. I highly recommend this book, and most of all this author she continues to really show me how amazing she is! Do not miss this read!

Steele Resolve by Gwyn McNamee is the sixth and final book in the Hawke Family Series. I wasn’t ready to say bye to this family so I put off reading the book until the curiosity got the better of me and I’m so glad I finally caved.
Bryon and Steele are a couple I want to hang out, actually I would love to hang out with the entire Hawke Family. They just seem like a group that knows how to have a lot of fun and each one of them love their partner and family like there is no one else.
I’m really going to miss each and every one of these characters, but feel like the series ended perfectly. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. McNamee releases next.

Never Let Me Go (Bayou Devils MC Book 6) by A.M. Myers is a romantic suspense that immediately dives right into the journey this story needs to go on. The opening scenes make your heart strings pull and you wonder where A.M. Myers will take these characters that have been introduced along with the others you know are waiting on the sides awaiting their chance to appear and make their own marks. I felt this story was beyond amazing and loved how the author laid out the sequences of events and their chain of reactions that occur. This is not a straight forward story, but one full of many elements that will keep you guessing and wondering exactly where key characters will fall.

This story is loaded with numerous elements that give it a edge with the suspense, action and the unknown keeping the reader anxiously awaiting to see what could possibly happen next. Dahlia is an amazing character in this book/series and I cannot seem to read enough! C.L. Schneider is masterfully with the story sequencing and dialogue while providing the essence of imaginative characters and locales which are realistic, that the reader can truly envision. Alex is the first book in Maddie Wade’s Eidolon Black Ops series that is a spinoff of her Fortus Security Series. We met Eidolon guys in the Fortus Series books and I was really excited when the writer decided to do a spinoff and give us Eidolon boys and their stories!!! I have read every single one of Fortus Security books and I know it will be the same with Eidolon Black Ops series as I absolutely love the universe Maddie Wade has created! With every book we get deeper into it and get more hooked on it! Alex Martinez is the right had man of the Eidolon Black Ops leader Jack and he lost his heart when he was eighteen … well he handed his heart to Evelyn Garcia when he was eight and she was six years old and he lost her when he was eighteen … she simply disappeared one night and now it has been fifteen years he has had no idea what happened to her … Well, their paths cross and Evelyn is no longer the tender-hearted artist she was, she is a cold blooded killer/assassin … they are thrown together as a kill order is taken out on Evelyn and there is no well in hell that Alex will let it happen so we are taken on one heck of a ride and you will be keeping your fingers crossed throughout the whole book hoping that they will win the race against the time!

An Unexpected Sequel (Paranormal Talent Agency #4) by Heather Silvio was just as a fun read as the other three. I do think you should read the other three books in the series just so everything makes sense. Overall I liked the book. I thought it was fun and flowed well. I like the author’s style and have enjoyed each book of hers. I wasn’t a fan of Robin but felt she redeemed herself some in this book. 4 star rating

Nite Fire: Smoke & Mirrors By C.L Schneider. This book was probably my favorite so far. I love how the author doesn’t stick to a straight pattern in the writing, the story is ever changing and keeps readers engaged. I highly recommend reading these in order even though you won’t be lost thanks to the authors writing style but I enjoyed them being in order. Each character brings something different and unique to the storyline and it’s fun to read about them all. I was definitely kept on my toes with this one and highly recommend this story, series and author. Five stars all the way.

Smoke & Mirrors is the third book in the Nite Fire series.
I am absolutely in love with this series. All of the books are wonderful, this one is no exception. The characters come alive and the story has twists and turns that keep you fascinated. I don’t think there is ever a slow moment as you go through the story with Dahlia trying to piece together the clues. In each story it is getting harder and harder for Dahlia and the dragons to cover up what is happening behind the scenes that the humans have been so blissfully unaware of. I think chapter 35 broke me a little bit. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend this series. Looking forward to the next book!

Hidden Magic by India Kells is a Sanctuary Chronicles novel. This is a short book and a quick read but it is just as good as all her work usually is. This book is a great paranormal romance book. Although it is short it never at any point felt rushed or like something was missing. The characters were well developed and interesting to read about. I really thought that Brant and Kat had a great chemistry. The story itself was well paced and well developed. Although it was short the author covered everything to make it a great story. It had depth, it had action, it had romance. I honestly felt like I was reading a full length novel and was disappointed when I got to the end because I could have easily kept on reading. If you haven’t discovered this author yet then I urge you to pick up this book!

Every time I pick up a book by this author I know I am in for a brilliant, action packed read and as I expected Alex was no exception. I always find that I am completely captivated by what I am reading, her storylines are exciting and I get sucked into the characters’ lives easily. There was action from the very beginning of this story and straight away I knew I was going to love the characters, Alex and Evelyn. Evelyn (Siren) was a fantastic character to read about, full of sass and independence everything I love in a leading female character and I’m pretty sure I fell in love with Alex straight away! He was very loyal to his ‘brothers’ and his job but also as soon as he came face to face with Siren he knew what he had to do! Their story really was a pleasure to read about and I loved seeing characters from the previous series appear too! Another fantastic 5 star read from Ms Wade – I am looking forward to her next book already!

The Arrangement Duet is a box set including two wonderful reads that I loved every second of. When I first read the blurb for both books I did think that I had made my mind up about how the story would go so I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong! I loved the slow burn feel to the story and the characters Nicholas and Kenzie had an amazing amount of chemistry that did feel genuine. I loved that they both had their own past that they needed to work on and I was definitely rooting for them the whole way through both stories. The two characters may have come together because of an arrangement but it didn’t take long to see that there was going to be so much more to their story than this. I loved both of these stories – I am really looking forward to reading more from Ms Quinn again in the future! Both stories were well written and I highly recommend this 5 star box set!

Smoke & Mirrors is the third book in C.L. Schneider’s Nite Fire series. I really enjoy this series with its combination of fantasy and detective elements. Dahlia Nite is now part of a special task force devoted to investigating paranormal crimes. Her powers as a half-dragon give her an edge when it comes to solving these crimes, as well as covering up any evidence that would expose the existence of supernatural creatures. As the series progresses, the magical world Schneider has created becomes increasingly vast and detailed with a varied cast of supernatural and human characters. It’s been a while since I read the earlier books in the series, but Schneider does plenty to fill the reader in on important background details and remind them of what has happened. It’s an action-packed book with mysteries to be solved and plenty of interesting, complex characters. Dahlia stands out as a strong, driven heroine. I also like Casey Evans with his compassion and humanness, and I enjoy the scenes with the two of them working together. For me, this is a five-star book. It’s exciting and gripping and fantastic! I’d recommend it to fans of fantasy and mystery. If you want to see forensic science being applied to non-human victims, this is the book for you!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I absolutely love MC books but this talented author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Lost Boys MC series. I could not put this book down once I started it. The characters are so real and raw they feel like they are a part of you. It only took me a couple of hours to devour this incredible book.
Kerri had a very hard life when she was growing up. Her dad was the boss of an MC gang and she always hated him. She now lives a simple life. Kerri loves her job but she doesn’t feel complete. She is approached by one of her dad’s men and her life changes from there. Kerri has to be watched because of things her dad has done. She can’t stand that life style so she is reluctant to get to know the man namedTracker. Kerri feels something for the man but it scares her to death. She doesn’t want to be like her father. Will Kerri take her wall down or will they get even more stronger?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, suspense, and healing. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Kerri is a beautiful woman that knows what she wants. She doesn’t want the life that she had as a child. Kerri has become one of my favorite female characters of this year. She is a very strong woman that can bring the sass. Tracker is an alpha male that has a heart of gold. He had a very bad past but he is healing from it. Tracker has done some bad things but he wants to make it right. The way her treats Kerri will make you swoon. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. I loved this….absolutely loved it. I don’t read M/M romances too often but this one intrigued me so I gave it a go. This is so much more than a romance between two people. It actually made me *feel* what it was like to be them….against every prejudice you can Imagine. From outting themselves and just showing affection in public to rejection from family and friends to public ridicule. They had a long road to journey down to get to their happy ending.
Enzo is amazing! So strong and smart! I loved everything about him. He has a heart of gold! His struggle to overcome made him who he became to be. Florian is a different sort of strong. What he had to overcome is not the same as Enzo but caused by the same “accident”. I almost feel he got the worst end of the deal. When they are together it’s easy to see how happy they both become by their smiles and gestures.
This is my first book by this author. I loved the writing..it is so easy to read and I finished this In one day. I couldn’t put it down. It is filled with suspense, charm and many lovely moments. My only complaint would be Enzos family. I felt that was left open ended. But really it’s a small issue in the grand scheme of things. The characters were great! I think I would love a Patrick in my life. He seemed a “no holds barred” kind of guy. I see the next book is out so I will be diving into that next.

A High Price to Pay (Madeline Dawkins #2) by Cynthia Hamilton was a thrilling, fast pace, exciting read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
The second book in this top shelf series, we are in the hot seat with Madeline as she’s told that the man, that hunts her dreams has been cut a deal and is out on the streets again. In saying this, this series follows a continuous timeline and plot, so I highly suggest reading the first book, as you won’t get get full effect of Madeline fear, and turmoil without it.
Like the first book the tones are heavy from the start, telling you this isn’t going to be a light and fluffy read. As things get heated up, and bodies start rolling in, Madeline once again, has to use her wit, smarts and steel resolve to make it out alive. The book really highlighted her growth as a character, and seeing the progress she has made from that first book was excellent.
I will say that there were some, situations, that pulled me out of this story. There was some over-explaining in parts, and, what got me the most was the, going into too much detail about the murders. That made for weird lulls, and broken continuity. But other than that, this was a pretty solid read. The mystery was compelling, the emotions high, and the plot line itself was smooth.
So overall this book gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

I am so much in love with this series I can’t hardly stand myself. I want to go back and start from the beginning and read them all over again.
This one has me confused because in a sense it might just be my favorite in the series, but then at the same time not. I loved the story, I adored the characters, and Juliette might just be one of my favorite females leads ever. My problem lies with feeling like there was not enough of the club like in the other books. I missed that, I missed all the other people I have come to love and my only wish is that there was more of them and the MC involved. Don’t get me wrong, they were there but just not as involved as Im used to.
In saying that I loved the concept of this book, I kind of had suspicions at the very first lawyer visit of what might be happening but that didn’t matter because how it was all written was vintage AM Myers. I read it in one sitting and hated when it was over.
I can not wait for more from the Bayou Devils and truthfully just anything by this author. It’s an auto one click for me.

WOW!! And Holy Crap….
I just finished this and my heart is still racing…What a book!!
I don’t even know where to start with this review, I do know that this book sits among my favorites so far in 2019, and in this genre definitely in my tops of all time.
There were times while reading I had to slow down and work through some things, this author plotted this story so perfectly and even when I’d get confused for some reason I knew it was for a reason and that it was building something I wasn’t aware of yet. I have whiplash of the brain, I had it all figured out so many times and then just like that I knew nothing.
I knew when I started this book that Ellie was going to be one of those characters you will never forget. I tried to imagine how she felt moving to a place where you know nobody and can’t even understand half of what is being said around you, and she did it all for love. I’ll admit Johan was awesome at times, but he more than ticked me off through most of this book and when you read it you will probably know the exact times Im talking about.
I worked hard right alongside Ellie in this book but the last quarter of this story I felt like a bulldozer running through these words. Good Lord this author even had me questioning the one person that couldn’t have had anything to do with it. I was a hot mess, and still kind of am.
That ending …cliffhanger but then not a cliffhanger…All I know is I must have the next book as soon as possible…I have a feeling Ellie is going to need me even more in the next book LOL And I have to know what the future holds for these people..ALL of them!

Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie

I just finished this story and again it was beautifully written and being the 4th in this series, I do feel Im liking them better as they go. I still get easily confused but that’s not the authors fault, Im invested enough in this series that I keep reading even though the genre is just not something I normally like or read. I chalk this up to the fantastic writing style of this author.
There is so much going on in this book and there were a couple times I literally stopped and had to really think about what was happening. Saint Augustina is the main player and Saint Benedict played a very large part in this entire book. I loved the interaction between these two and the story of their past. I think I somewhat understand what happened at the end between the two of them but you’d have to read it yourself to get it.
I wasn’t sure about the orange lady at first but quickly found myself really liking her character. Saint Augustina’s story broke my heart and the ending had me bawling.
It’s weird for me to say that I’m actually really looking forward to where this author plans to take this series next, who knows maybe by the time I finish reading them all I’ll be a convert to this genre or at least find that Im understanding it all better.
Amazing writing and I can’t wait for more. I highly recommend reading all of these in order. Everything kind of ties together in a weird way and if I hadn’t read the ones before I know I really would have been lost.

Behind Blue Eyes is book one Stockholm Murders by CS Duffy. Having not sampled this authors work, I went in with a curiously open mind. I wasn’t let down. This story was quality and quantity.
Mystery and suspense is what surrounds Ellie when she finds herself in the thick of a murder investigation. I am a fan of thrillers, and Ellie and Johan provided me with everything I could wish for in a mystery. These characters have an edge that is captivating and the story captures the essence of suspense perfectly. The story moves along and a reader cannot help but be swept along for the ride. A thrilling read that ended too quickly. 4 stars.
