Tracking Numbers (Lost Boys MC BOOK 1) by Janice M. Whiteaker – Review by Lisa Brydalski

Tracking NumbersTracking Numbers by Janice M. Whiteaker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tracking Numbers is the first book in the Lost Boys MC series by author Janice M. Whiteaker and lucky for us readers this is only the tip of the iceberg, there are so many hot alpha bikers to look forward to. Kerosene Danger Wallace is an independent woman who happened to be raised in an MC until she decided she had enough and wanted a different kind of life. For years she has built her own world free and clear of her father’s MC until Tracker walks into her life. The last thing Tracker wants is to protect a princess, unfortunately he has no choice since he’s been tasked by his club prez and pseudo father to protect the runaway princess. Not everything or everyone is what they seem, will Kerri and Tracker be able to save themselves from danger? Or will their romance end even before it begins?
This is my first book by Ms. Whiteaker and I know it won’t be the last. As long as the stories are written along the same caliber as Tracking Numbers then Ms. Whiteaker has a reader for life.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed every page of it. I was pulled in right from the beginning by the well written characters. They are connectable and made the story feel realistic. Sarah is back home again trying to regroup, when she sees Rich again. She fell for him once before, will she again? When Rich needs her help, he may get more than he realizes. Will he convince her he is just what she needs and take down her defenses? I highly recommend their story.

Enemies of the Desert (Silent Secrets Series Book 3) by Lisette Kristensen – Review by Maura Harper

Enemies of the Desert Book: 3Enemies of the Desert Book: 3 by Lisette Kristensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think it is extremely important that you read this series in order. There is a continuing thread and characters that are already well developed by the time ENEMIES OF THE DESERT comes into play. Please don’t short change yourself or the author by reading out of order.

This is one of those series that moves fast so the reader tries to turn the page even faster. Strong women, strong story line, strong series. Action and adventure abound. Don’t skimp or skim, it’s worth absorbing every word.

I absolutely recommend this series (read in order of course) and this author.

Nite Fire: Smoke & Mirrors (Book 3) by C. L. Schneider – Review by Moriah Venable

Smoke & Mirrors (Nite Fire #3)Smoke & Mirrors by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Smoke and Mirrors is the third novel in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. This is my second novel by this author.

While I have not read the second novel, I was excited to start this. I was not confused much while reading.

Dahlia and her partner Alex Creed work on a case involving dismembered bodies that are not human. While investigating, Dahlia is forced into worlds: the world of humans and the world of the supernatural. Will she be able to solve the case and find the one responsible?

I really enjoyed this novel and loved the two worlds aspect with Dahlia feeling conflicted which fit with her personality. I love reading about her. She is a strong, interesting, female character that is relatable and shows a lot of emotion.

With school starting again, it hard to get into a book, but this book was a rollercoaster that left me wanting to finish reading even though I had papers and assignments to finish.

For anyone looking for a interesting take on the supernatural genre, I highly recommend this series. The covers are so pretty, they just pull you in.

Spouse Trap: A Madeline Dawkins Mystery (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Emma Morreale

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I fell in love with Madeline immediately. She has the perfect life and is devoted to her husband, Steve, but one pinch of jealousy from him seems to have a cascade effect including her waking up naked with no idea what happened. Steve somehow comes up with compromising pictures from that time (which screamed set up to me) and with an adultery prenup clause, things are looking as bad as they can get. But my girl Maddy will not go down without a fight!
Her need to know what happened instead of crawling in on herself shows so much strength and I love her for it.
The fact that this took place in Santa Barbara was hilarious to me since I am a huge fan of Psych and I was hoping half the time that Shawn and Gus would show up, just for the giggles.
Cannot wait to dig into the next book!

Dark (The Dark Trilogy Book 1)by Paul L Arvidson
5-Stars

Dark is an interesting and creative novel. There are amazing characters and scenery. This book is very different from the books I have read before. The setting had me thrown for a bit because instead of ever6being described in a visual sense, the author utilized the other senses to describe it. The world is in complete darkness for these individuals. To me, that was fascinating. Dunn, Padg, Tali, and Myrch were all interesting and different characters. I enjoyed following them a long their journey and loved that each had their own unique talents. Each played a key role to the groups survival and task. Being that this is book 1 of this series, I look forward to the other books. I highly recommend this unique book.

Hoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman – Review by Robin Rankin

Hoosier DadHoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman made me chuckle at the very beginning and managed to continue to do so on and off all the way through, but it also really pulled at my heartstrings.

Rich is a single dad with two daughters with a sizable age difference between the girls, and all I could think about was my daughters and their relationship with their daddy. My husband and girls have a very similar relationship to the relationships Rich has with Kari and Stacey which you don’t see a lot of

When Sarah wasn’t making me laugh she was making me mad. She refused to be an adult about a lot of the matters that came up but I will say she stepped up when she had to which did redeem her in my eyes.

Stacey won my heart so many times and her love for Rover just tipped the scales towards her being my favorite and helped me enjoy the book just a little more.

I have not had the pleasure of reading anything by Ms. Seckman before but I do hope I get the opportunity to read her again in the future.

This is on a very short list of books now that I loved the entire thing, but at different points in the book disliked both main characters for one reason or another for making a selfish decision. One usually can do no wrong in my head and this one just threw me for a ride!
I love second chance romance, and this was such a spin on that. It took me a bit to connect to Sarah but as her story unfolded, I got her.
And Rich and his girls, ugh anything sexier than a single dad busting his behind to give them the best?

This is a just read, many things play factors in this story and in the end I just wanted more or even an epilogue!

Act l: Seed on Fire by Michele Sims is the first book in the Moore Family Saga series. This book is utterly captivating and is the kind of story that will lead you wanting more long after you have finished the last page.

As with the other books in this series this is a great fun read. I love the world the author has created with this series. The stories are all great but all have that sense of fun and entertainment about them.
The characters were so likeable and engaging. I find it so easy to get involved in their stories, to become invested in the outcomes.

Hoosier Dad is the first book I have read by Elizabeth Seckman and it hooked me from the very beginning. The title alone had me hooked since I live in Indiana so I had to dive in to see what it was all about.

Unfortunately he is now face with a custody battle over them and turns to Sarah to help him out. As the time they spend together fighting custody, Rich falls in love with Sarah and who wouldn’t. Hoosier Dad
By Elizabeth Seckman
Rated 4 stars

This is a good story that drew me in easily from the beginning. It is smart and snappy. While it lost some of that edge as the story moves forward it still kept me interested. This is full of small town gossip and problems. Everyone is whispering and talking about everyone else and there is no business like everyone else’s business. This became a little too much for me as the story rolled along. It wasn’t over the top but just not something I am a fan of.
I did like the Main characters. Rich, the kids and Sarah were fun and added zest to the story. I wish there was more romance instead of the doubt that was always there for the two MC’s. I would have liked the story to touch back on the whole dandelion thing. I thought that was so sweet but it never resurfaced. I highlighted those words because they were so true and a great idea

This is a first time author for me. It was a good story and I read it fairly quickly. My main issue was realism. It was a bit like a soap opera and involved a lot of small town chatter.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have not had the pleasure of reading anything from Elizabeth Seckman until I picked up Hoosier Dad, but I am glad that I have found a new author to love. I really enjoyed this playful and sweet contemporary romance. I easily got wrapped up in the lives of Richland and Sarah, finding myself finishing the book in one swift sitting. Richland seeks out the help of Sarah for her lawyer skills as he is faced with a custody battle for his daughters. These two have the perfect couple banter back and forth and eventually the feelings become too much to hide. How will things workout for Richland? Will he get his fair time with his girls? Will he get the sassy lawyer too? You will have to dive into this book for yourself to find out all the answers but I can promise you this will be a favorite read once you are finished. I look forward to seeing what else is available from Ms. Seckman and whatever will come next!

Plus, there was plenty of ongoing drama that kept me intrigued the whole way through, and I was not disappointed by the ending in the slightest.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bowled: Facing the Yorker of Love (To Love a Sportsman Book 1) by Pamela Q. Fernandes was a book that had a little bit of everything. Romance, drama, mystery, tragedy and suspense, plus there was sports involved. I personally know absolutely nothing about Cricket which left me trying to figure out what was being said part of the time but my lack of knowledge didn’t cause me to not follow along and enjoy Mathew and Rose’s story.

Mathew is definitely the stereotypical athlete at least in public, he has been burned before and doesn’t want to put himself out there to be hurt. He has no idea how much he ends up helping Rose.

I really enjoyed this book and play on learning a little about Cricket just so I can understand some of the terms in this book and I’m going to assume any future books in this series.

This is the third novel in the Order of the Senary but each one can be read as stand-alone, but in my opinion I would advise reading them in order as I have and I feel I have gotten the most of them this way. This is fast paced and brutal at times the pace is so quick, it will leave you breathless. This one will have you wanting to be violent to a certain character as well as imagining the brutal violence that this story is full of, but its also got heart that will surprise you. This has been a great series, and this is a great story.

Vermilion Lies was an awesome read! I loved books 1 and 2 in the series so I was really looking forward to this one and it more than met my expectations! I was gripped from the very first page, it just felt like non-stop action and I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.
Dax and Cindel’s story was completely captivating! It was dark and raw and I honestly loved every second of it. There was this immense passion between the two of them and some undeniable chemistry! There were some great twists and turns that kept me glued to this story from beginning to end.
This book can be read as a standalone however I would recommend reading them in order.
