Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers #5) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Karyn Taylor

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning The Tide is the 5th book in the awesome Eastern Shore Swingers series by Phoebe Alexander. I have loved this series so far but have to say that Turning The Tide has been. By far, my favourite book in this series.
Having been ‘the woman scorned’ I wouldn’t have thought that I’d have sympathy for a man cheating on his wife and wanting to give him a massive high for doing so but this book brought out so many emotions from me.
Highly respected ENT doctor, Luke Cannon has not had sex with his wife for 10 years. Not only no sex, but no touching, kissing or cuddling. Nothing. Nada. To top it off his wife Barbara is a complete grade A bitch treating him like a doormat. Her excuse – sex is to painful and she is disabled. So it’s no wonder when Luke’s patient, Cap Sheldon invites him to the swingers club he owns, Luke decides, after much persuasion to go along and see what it’s all about. His life is about to change in a major way when he meets the lovely Connie on his first visit to the club.
To his horror, Luke then discovers that Connie is the new nurse his partner Jim has hired. There is a no fraternization policy at their business. That however is the least of Luke’s worries. Barbara is behaving strangely and Luke discovers major discrepancies in his finances.
What follows on is a fantastic story filled with so much mystery and suspense. In a true Eastern Shore Swingers book, it’s also filled with some very HOT sex scenes. This book is a definite page turner. I was glued to it and just couldn’t put it down. I have to say that I adored the character of Luke and Connie and even though Luke is a married man, I was rooting for him to cheat on his absolute bitch of a wife. She doesn’t deserve and amazing man like Luke.
This series has brought me much enjoyment in the last year and I’m so glad to read in the notes at the end of the book that the author plans to add more books to this series. They will definitely be getting added to my TBR list and I’d recommend this series to others. It’s a must read.

Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné – Review by Erin Wolf

Pandora's Price (Hart & Cole Book 3)Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné, 4 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from previous books in the series.*

More secrets exposed. More tempers flare. Can the love between Darren and Luisa survive? Or would they be better spent apart? But that’s not all. Mistakes reappear, and Darren has an event very critical event for his business right in the middle of it all. Not to mention what is going on with family and friends.

If you have been reading this series, you know just how crazy and dysfunctional the characters have been since book one. These books are very dark — there are no perfect little relationships here. All of the characters have gotten so entangled in each other’s lives. It’s not a pretty sight. But there parts that will make you happy, a few may even make you laugh. The story has so many things happening, you will never be bored. It is amazing just how much the author can put into these books. You will be put on an emotional roller coaster the whole way thru.

If you enjoy stories on relationships and just how real — and real crazy — people can be when love and family are involved, you will enjoy this book and series. It may be a little intense for those who generally read light-hearted romance though.

Pandora’s Price is the third book in the Hart & Cole series and it’s also my favorite so far! Sacha T. Y. Fortuné has written this incredibly emotional series that has captivated me from the beginning. I’ve become addicted to this series and to this life-changing storyline. It’s a tangled tale of lies, deceit, mistakes and trust. It’s so real and emotional and I loved every second of it. Yes, at times it was hard to read and yes, I shed many tears and yes sometimes I had to take a reading break but ultimately, I only reacted this way because I felt so connected with these characters on such a deep level. I feel like I’ve really experienced everything they’ve been through, Sacha is a phenomenally talented author and I’m so happy that I’ve been able to experience her writing!

I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone whose looking for their next life changing romance read! This is a must-read series that should not be missed!

This is a crazy story full of hi-jinks and shenanigans. Sam and Rex are out of school for the summer. Looking for adventure in their Boring town. There is silly food concoctions and Bingo nights. Not to mention parades with Lawn Chair Marching Dads! (That one cracked me up.) Add in a couple of strangers and an overactive imagination makes this a cute detective story.

I enjoyed these boys can’t imagine what they could stumble upon next. This is great for younger readers who like mysteries but also have a little bit of that imagination themselves.

I don’t know how much more of this I can take. Sacha is killing me with these books. They are so detailed and and drawn out, I can’t put the book down! Every character is so well thought out and planned, all aspects of the story flow together so nicely.

From reading the first 2 books I wanted to hate Luisa. I don’t like the whole cheating on Darren thing, but this book has given me a new perspective on her and I have come to love her. I definitely now officially hate Nicole. The first book had me wanting more of Nicole and Kris but then my loyalties switched to Luisa and Darren.

Poor Luisa is crushed knowing her husband of twelve years is in love with another woman. I can completely understand why she does what she does with Gianni, I would be miserable and lost too if my husband couldn’t stop talking about his co worker. I do think they did try to reconcile their marriage, but it there was too much dishonesty and a big communication issue.

Luisa meeting and befriending Victoria is a great moment, I was hoping she would have a great girlfriend soon, but I do feel Vicki may have contributed to some of the outbursts and problems in not only Luisa and Darren’s relationship, but also Kris and Nicole’s as well. My eyes about bugged out of my head when all of the drama unfolded at Darren’s launch party, my hate for Nicole deepened when she says the most heinous and evil things to Luisa, as well as trying to seduce Darren. It was like this character did a complete 180 and was not the woman we meet in the first book. I feel sorry for Kris having to deal with her, but if that’s what he loves then more power to him.

The ending was nice and I won’t say why, as I think everyone should read until the end. I wouldn’t recommend any of these books as a standalone because there is so much to learn from each character starting with book 1. I really can’t wait to see what is in store for book four.

The story Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T.Y. Fortune’ is a wonderful book to read. It is one that drew me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time. Those emotions are strongest for the main characters of Luisa and Darren. There is intense dialogue between them and times when I wondered what would happen next. The journey that these two are on have powerful and raw moments. They are two people who face crisis and are trying to find their way. There are times when you can feel the stress, strain, and tension. I could feel for this couple and I was hoping for things to work out. What does the future hold for Darren and Luisa? Read this book to find out. This is the third book in a series and it is recommend reading them in order. It makes for an easier time understanding the continuing storyline and the characters. Recommended reading.

Pandora's Price (Hart & Cole Book 3)Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné is the third book of the Hart & Cole series and the second part of Luisa and Darren’s story.

There were times while reading that I got dizzy with everything happening with everyone.

Darren isn’t a bad guy, he can be a controlling jerk at times but I don’t think he ever sets out to hurt anyone, especially his wife and children. But just because he doesn’t intend for it to happen it doesn’t mean that it won’t happen.

Luisa should have expressed her feelings on Nicole and everything else she kept buried a lot sooner than she did. That negative/hurt just kept feeding on itself and kept her from having a good, productive conversation and relationship with her husband.

I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and hope that one day Lee will get to tell his story. There is something deep within him that needs to come out.

This is the third book in the Hart & Cole Series and honestly I think this author can do no wrong. With every book I read by her I end up having a new favorite. The main characters in the book are Darren and Luisa. They are married but that doesn’t mean they have all the happiness and easyness that every marry should couple have. Oh no no no…. There is betrayal, resentment, distrust but there is also love. They have a lot of work to do if they want to work things out.
The secondary characters are Fantastic and It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t at least mention them and how awesome they are.
I was pulled into this story from page one and I didn’t want it to end. I highly recommend reading this series in order!! I cannot wait to read more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander is the fifth book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series. I love that Connie got her own story after meeting her her earlier in the series.

There were some hot moments between Luke and Connie, but what kept me glued to the book was everything going on in Luke’s life, both personal and business. Not sure why that grabbed me the way it did but I’m not going to complain.

Luke is a sweet man who has had life give him one too many bad hands, but his luck seems to improve when he meets Connie. But does it really?

Connie has to learn to trust again after her ex-husband destroyed every bit of what she had.

This is a great story about two mature adults getting a chance to get the love story right. It could be read as a standalone but I would recommend you start at the beginning of the series. You won’t be disappointed.

Taming the Troublemaker (Hills of Texas, #3)Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott is the third book in the Hills of Texas series. I loved everything about Autry and Beth’s story. From the way they reconnected (it is small town Texas and everyone has known everyone since birth) to the way it ended.

Autry is the bad boy of the Hill family. Being the second youngest in the large family he has to do something to get some attention and sometimes negative attention is better than nothing.

Beth is the middle sister who has always felt average in every way. She has always secretly had a crush on Autry but never did anything about it consciously.

There are a lot of laughs and a few emotional moments, I swear I didn’t cry this time. My eyes just started to sweat spontaneously.

I can’t wait to see which Hill sibling is next

These stories get better each time. The author has a way with making you laughing the most unlikely situations. The author is also taking something many people look down on and making it no big deal. We all enjoy our company and pleasure different ways so accept it and move on. I really like Luke. He is such a sweet guy. I felt sorry for him through most of the book. He deserves a HEA. Connie was a good character as well. I really liked the action parts and the drama. Everyone has a crazy person in their life Luke happened to marry his. The story gives you a look into a lifestyle that we look at as wrong. He paints it as a community of friends who happen to enjoy watching and switching partners. I don’t think I would partake but I understand it a little more.

Pandora’s Price was a 5+ star read and book three in the Hart & Cole series. I was pulled right into the story and I didn’t want it to end. I was emotionally exhausted by the time I was done.

This is Darren and Luisa’s story. This is a real story that is not sugar coated. You experience everything right along with them, right down to whether they will continue to stay married.

Can these two work it out before it’s too late?

I really wish I could give more to this review but I don’t want to ruin anything for the reader. Just have the kleenex ready. There is betrayal, love, trust, resentment and so much more. Sasha has done a terrific job of pulling you in with her writing and you feel every emotion right along with the characters. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. I love this series, I highly suggest reading this series starting with book one, but definitely read book two before this one. I can’t wait to get my hands on book four.

If you are looking for a book series that plays on every human emotion you have then Sacha Fortune’s Hart & Cole series is the one for you.
I was completely invested in these books from the very first one but this is a series that leaves you believing the next book couldn’t possibly be as good and then it exceeds all expectations.
Sacha Fortune says it herself in a brief “disclaimer” before reading these books, “it isn’t a glossy love story.” Everything about this book, these characters, this series, is real, raw and emotional. I couldn’t even begin to compose a review that gives this story justice. The depth and character growth of Darren and Luisa alone are enough to earn this author a spot on my “must read” list.
This book is not a standalone read, so if by chance you’re reading this without reading the first two books first, go back and devour them- they’re that good.

Gamble on a CowboyGamble on a Cowboy
By: Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gamble on a Cowboy Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun was engaging, sweet, steamy, heart string pulling read, that was down right fun as hell.

A short read, with two quick but well rounded stories was something to behold. Both authors managed to pack a lot into their respective stories and I wish they were longer. Both could have been easily a full size novel. Their talent shown through and I will be checking out their other works.

As for the stories, and since they are quick, anything would give away the magic. I will tell you that, the writing is smooth, top shelf, and full of heart and emotions. Especially that first read, man, how can such a short read squeeze my heart so? It had that perfect balance of sweet, heart melty, and fun. Add in two very well-rounded characters and you got an enjoyable read, that will have you wanting more. The second novella, was different enough while keeping with the theme, that you didn’t feel like you were reading the same story twice. That second read, has drama, hot steamy romance, and a bit of a mystery that keeps you on your toes. Like the first there are two very well-rounded interesting characters, that just leap off the pages.

Overall this book will have you hooked, laughing, emotional, all while needing a fan from those hot moments. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortune is the closing of Louisa and Darren’s story and the third book in her Hart & Cole series. Quoting the writer “This is NOT a glossy love story. But if you’re looking for a romance read that will rattle you… characters that will change you… and love that will last in your mind long after you’re finished… THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU.” She hit the nail right on the head! It is not your usual off-the-mill love story! The writer drags you through ups and downs and twists and turns and you hate people and they you forgive them and then you get upset with them and then you fall so deeply in love with them that you are not able to fall out of love with them when they upset you again!
As I said then this is the closing of Louisa and Darren’s story, we will live along with them and we are pushed to the point of the destruction! We stay with them when we all wonder if they are able to pull everything back together and whether they will find a way into a future while making the broken hearts whole again …
Fortunately it is the end of the series as there is so much potential and quite a few characters that are screaming for their own stories and we already know who are next in the line!

Vantage Point (Gray Ghost #4)Vantage Point by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me level with you. Hawk? Dope as all get out. He’s the quiet one and they are the ones you ALWAYS need to look out for. Doubly so in Hawk’s case. Also, since he’s got an awesome name, it was almost impossible for him to not be everything I had hoped for in a main character.
Stella is pretty cool but I’ve think she could benefit from hearing the full idiom “Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” I get that she feels she needs to help her brother, but come one. That dude is bad news anyway you slice it. I also find him to be pretty rude but I would bet a considerable amount of money that it was deliberate. Family is family but if they get you in trouble to further themselves, cut them out like any manner of unsavory growths.
Lastly, so as not to gush over spoilers, who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt?!
This entire series is really good and you may be a little lost if you try to read them out of order. The back stories are very important. That being said, I love Vantage Point the most and want to tell everyone to read this first even though I am a huge proponent of reading book and watching movies, shows, ect. in order.

LOVE on the LINE (Great Expectations Love Stories: The Graykens Book 2)
By Laurie Lewis

Let me start off by saying thank you Ms. Lewis for writing the sequel to Love on a Limb. I became completely invested in Matt and Mikaela’s story. The first book touched my heart in a way that left me with a lasting impression, with that being said this book is just as amazing. There is so much heartache, sadness, hope, and love in this story I wasn’t sure that my heart would take it but at the same time I could not stop reading. This book was written so well that it felt so real and touched my soul. There are some parts that were hard to get through because the fight felt so draining and difficult, then you feel the love, hope, possibility, friendship, and family and it makes everything worth the fight. I cannot say enough wonderful things about how well this story was written and how it touched my heart. I was definitely put through the emotional ringer and would and will do it over again because this is the kind of book you can’t just read once. I can’t wait to read what this author has in store for me next.

Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné – Review by Jenni Bishop

Pandora's Price (Hart & Cole Book 3)Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné is an explosive continuation of the story so far. So be warned read the books in order. Everything is out on the table all the secrets and lies have come to a head and show that we are all caught up in our own thoughts of what happened that we sometimes need to take a step back and re-evaluate all that we have done and seen. When tragedy strikes the vultures come out and nothing and I mean nothing is off limits when you are in the spot light. But it takes a tragedy to show just what you have sometimes and what you will do to keep it. Privacy is no longer your own and all your dirty underwear is hanging on the line for all to see.
I thought this was the end of the series but I was happily surprised to see that there is more.

Pandora’s Price (Hart & Cole Book 3) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné – Review by Kerry Baker

Pandora's Price (Hart & Cole Book 3)Pandora’s Price by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Price by Sacha Y. Fortune is the third book in the Hart and Cole series. You do need to read this series in order as each one builds on the story the author has created and reading them out of order would diminish your understanding and enjoyment of them.
This book is just as good and intriguing as the other ones have been. I found myself turning the pages quick as I had to find out what would happen. I connected with the characters easily and really became invested in their story.
This is a very well written and complex book and one I would definitely recommend.
