I loved this book! This is a well written, engaging story that flips back and forth in time. I loved that I didn’t get lost and was able to keep up. This is about a little girl, Veloura. She is ignored by her parents but other people make up for what she is missing in her life. What will happen when she realizes there is so much more to life? Will she discover a whole new world and herself in the process? She is my favorite and made the story come to life for me. Her story is a must read!

I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. This is a young adult story that I feel is in the future. It is creative and well written. I found it to be engaging and fast paced. It is about Neve who lives in a country who demands loyalty above all else in form of a pledge. What will happen when Neve is given a choice of loyalty or love, happiness? The characters are well written characters that you can sympathize with as well as relate too. I highly recommend this book.

Hazed by Brittany Butler is the first book, I’ve read by this author. I wasnt really a fan of the book however the writing was good. Hayze is the sexy bartender where Taylor starts to work. There is an instant attraction between the two. Only problem is Hayze has the bad boy vibe going. Hayze is with a different girl every night and girls throw themselves at him on the regular. Taylor doesn’t have much experience in anything. She grew up the daughter of a pastor and never had the chance to do anything the other kids in town did. She left home for some freedom. She is starting college and doesn’t really know anyone aside from her roommate Lea. Lea and Hayze happen to be pretty close but, Taylor doesn’t realize just how close they really are. Of course Taylor and Hayze end up seeing each other. I understand she is a sheltered girl but come on, how does she not see things right in front of her. I liked most of the characters and think the author did a good job but, I just didn’t like how blind Taylor was made out to be.

IMMORTAL DESIRES is a collection of paranormal romances written by a variety of authors. There are stories about vampires and shifters and dragons (seriously, what’s not to love about dragons!!!) and more. The majority of the stories are full length novels and they are part of a series. Some are the first in the series and others are the third; each was a satisfactory read and I’ve added the series’ to my TBR list. I was able to take my time with this set and I found that anytime I was in between books, i would grab another story from this collection.
I have a few that stood out above the rest (OMG Zane!!!) and all in all each was a great read. I honestly don’t think I would be able to rank them in the order that I preferred them, so I’m just going to list the stories/authors in the way they are listed in the front of the book:

Vantage Point by Amy McKinley is the fourth book in the Gray Ghost series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone As with the others this book is fast paced and intense. Each page was a thrilling turn . Hawk has to be my favourite character of this series so far. I loved the connection between him and Stella. They just seemed to pop entirely off the page. And the story the author created with this book was just brilliant. I enjoyed every part of it. This one has easily just become my favourite of the series.

I am NOT the intended demographic for this story HOWEVER; I very much enjoyed it and actually identified with a few of the “older folks”. Mr. Patel, for example, because he’s always sneaking the kids candy when Mrs. Patel isn’t looking. That’s the kind of Aunt I am – so I get it.
This is a delightful story that I would absolutely give to my nieces and nephews to read. I have a few that don’t like to read and I think this one might change their mind. It’s a delightful adventure of 2 young boys and the things they experience one summer in a town called Boring, MD. Trust me; it’s NOT a boring story.
HOOT N HOLLER is a new to me author (or team of authors) and enjoyed the way they told a tale. I’m not sure who had what voice, but it was seamless in the telling. The story is well plotted and a great read.

Hazed book 1 In the hazed series by Brittany Butler is my first book that I have read by this author. Hazed is a book about a young girl named Taylor who left a strict fathers home to head to college where she is learning about her shelf and what she wants in life. Taylor gets a job where she meets this handsome young man named Haze who is everything her father would be against. In this amazing read you learn about both Taylor and Haze and you fall in love with these two characters.. I personally can relate to Taylor and what she is feeling ang going through in this book. I’m really interested to see where this series is going to go. I fell Brittany Butler did a wonderful job on this book and cant wait to read the next book in this series.

North to Nara is the first book in the Crimson Sash Series and debut novel by Amanda Marin. It is quite an original YA dystopian romance, with sci-fi elements, fantasy, suspense, action, adventure, and clever world building. Neve Hall lives in a seemingly Utopian society where civil servants keep the society prosperous and united. “Nation First” is every citizens pledge, and they are expected to put the nations ‘needs’ even ahead of their own. Citizens in good standing have the privilege of attending The Centre for Compassion every week, where a Sufferer (a professional empath) will ‘take’ the pain and sadness from the individual, replacing it with strength- the whole process is done anonymously. But what happens when her ‘regular’ Sufferer is replaced? What happens when Neve discovers the identity of her new Sufferer? What happens when she begins to understand what he endures in the name of the nation? And what happens when feelings get involved- especially in a society where love isn’t allowed for all citizens? So, what happens when she begins questioning everything she thought she knew/believed? This story is well worth the read to find out. This was a great debut novel, with an intriguing storyline and interesting characters. The cover is beautiful and immediately drew me to the book. It was a little slow in parts, and there were places that felt like a bit of an info dump. But this didn’t detract to much from my overall enjoyment of the story. I did enjoy the story and will definitely read the rest of the series. I look forward to seeing what else Ms. Marin can do.

The story North to Nara (Crimson Sash Book 1) by Amanda Marin is an amazing book that I loved reading. It takes place in a dystopian world. I found that the author does a wonderful job of describing this world and how those in society live. The story had me feeling like I was right there with the characters, feeling and experiencing what they did. The book had me turning pages and wondering what is going to happen next. My emotions went up and down while reading this story. There are both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I loved reading about the characters of Neve Hall and Micah Ward. They are characters that you can’t help but grow to care about and want them to be happy. There is a choice that has to be made. Will Neve choose loyalty to the Nation or to her heart? What does the future hold for Neve and Micah? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me thinking about it even after I had finished the last page. It will hook you in from the beginning. This is a book that I would recommend reading. It is the first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.

Little Miss Eyes of Blue is the prequel to The Woman America Loves a Latte by Holly Tierney-Bedord. We met Veloura (Vee) in The Woman America Loves a Latte when she finally had a little luck, landing her dream job- as the “face” for Caprice Cappuccino chain and the ‘adventure’ that ensues. Well in this book, we go back to her childhood to see where it all started. A little girl who hasn’t had it easy learns a lot about human nature, kindness, and much about herself. This is a great story, although it definitely has a different ‘feel’ to it than The Woman America Loves a Latte- I am glad Ms. Tierney-Bedord decide to give us more of Vee’s journey.

Misfortune of Song is the fifth book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. This is a historical fantasy- with action, adventure, magic, paranormal elements, drama, romance, mystery, humour, young love, challenges, heartbreak, betrayal, danger, battles, bargains, and fantastic world building. I have said it before, and I say it again, I really love the attention to detail and vividly descriptive storytelling that Ms. Nicholas excels at- it brings her stories to life and makes them very realistic, believable, and entirely immersive. As with the other books in this series that I have read, this is really well written, intriguing, and engaging. The story pulled me in and kept my attention right from the beginning. The character/s are complex, fully realised individuals who were cleverly crafted- with interesting and quirky natures. I haven’t read the books in this series in sequence- instead picking books by random- thankfully each book is able to be read as a standalone. Having said that though, if you love a great fantasy with lots of historical elements, then you would most definitely enjoy the other books in this series as well- and after reading one, you will probably want to explore more/all. In this book we meet Maelan and his granddaughter Orlagh, who live in Ireland in the 12th century. Maelan is determined to protect his granddaughter, even from herself, as well as fulfil his duty to chief, and uphold the family name. Orlagh is a little headstrong and impulsive, and tests all the boundaries he tries to impose. But choices are made, and the consequences are quite disastrous. Maelan must decide what he is prepared to do in order to save her? Can he succeed? What happens? You really should read the story and discover all the intriguing details for yourself- it’s well worth your time!

Love on the Line by Laurie Lewis a five-star read that you would give a limb for. This is the second novel in the Graykens series, part of the Great expectations Love stories, I would recommend you read them in order. Matt and Mikayla have a story that will test you, it will wring your emotions out and leave you in a heap. But it will also blow you away as its such a beautiful story, I know its odd to say anything about cancer can be beautiful but the author some how manages to bring it together and makes it so. You need this series, if you are having a bad day, give it a read and you won’t be any longer. If you are looking for a good read, then pick it up, you wont be disappointed.

A great read about acting. Catherine is an empathy launching her acting agency business in Las Vegas. Things are going well as she sets up shop and hires new actors for movie projects. But at the same time, actresses are turning up dead in mysterious circumstances across the city. Before too long, her agency is targeted. With her lead actor suspected of murder and a killer closing in, can she solve the mystery before its too late? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Catherine doing what she loves and also standing up for herself or Alex as charming but also kind underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the bubbly Mia or the creepy councilwoman or the strange Robin. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like in the scenes with the party full of life and colour and people with the vivid sense of the flowers smelling so strong it is as if you were actually there. Or the sense of colour with the masquerade ball with bright greens and blues and purples and blacks with wonderful costumes perfectly written. This contrasted beautifully with the pure white council room chamber that was too perfect for a sense of unease. The use of suspense was written well, with mystery and intrigue making you want to keep reading to find out what really happened. I also enjoyed the use of the supernatural with powers and magical creatures unusual to this kind of novel. This mix with the realism of acting and crime made for a captivating read. The only issue I would raise is that it felt like the protagonist was talking to audience instead of being a narrative, giving it a light hearted tone that didn’t fit with the serious themes of death and crime but this could be resolved by switching to the third person. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.
Lights, Camera, Action by Heather Silvio a four-star read you won’t want to end. This is the first novel in the Paranormal Talent Agency series, and I am eagerly awaiting number two, this was a fun, drama filled paranormal romp. Set among the back drop of Las Vegas it will keep you hooked trying to figure out the culprit, with enough to keep you really guessing but not enough that you get lost. This is short and sweet and has a great storyline, if you like the genre then you wont go wrong with this one.

Linda Gets her Groove Thing by J.D. Frettier a four-star read that will get your groove on. This is the second novel in The Green Room Chronicles series, and they can be read as stand-alone, but they are funny together as well. Linda White is such a fab character, she really was so funny and entertaining. Its crazy that reading about death and life after death and it being so funny that you will laugh out loud but its brilliant. This is well written and poignant with a great story you will enjoy.

Misfortune of Song was another great read from the Druid’s brooch series! I have kind of dipped in and out of the series and haven’t read the books in order however the ones that I have read, including this one, have been really enjoyable reads. I find that I am instantly transported into the imaginative and creative worlds that this author has created. The characters are always well thought out and you find that you can’t help but want to see what happens to them in their story. There is a lot of action in this story which definitely kept my interest from beginning to end. I really enjoy historical fiction so it’s great that I can add this series to my collection of ones that I have enjoyed reading. I would definitely recommend this book and the series, the authors writing is fantastic, very creative and the stories are definitely entertaining. I am definitely looking forward to reading the other books in the series!

Fortitude was an excellent read and one that I found really difficult to put down. I really like historical fiction but I’m more of a romance type of reader so when I read the blurb for this book I was intrigued to try something historical and a little different and I am so glad that I did, I loved every minute of this story. There were some pats that for us today were hard to even comprehend but for the time period that it was written about that is how people thought and for me I was impressed with how to author dealt with them. I have read books by this author before so I knew it would be well written but what shone through for me was the level of detail that the author included I could tell that she had really researched well before writing this story. I liked that characters, I thought that they were well developed and I connected with them. I thought that Fortitude was definitely a great read and I look forward to more from this author again in the future.
My favorite yet in this series! This book has a little bit of everything in it from romance to action to suspense. The twists and turns had me turning pages until the end. This book is about Stella and how her brother puts her in the path of danger. Then you have the next door sexy neighbor, Hawk, who comes to her rescue. Will he be able to protect her? I enjoyed the characters as they made the story come alive for me. I felt as if I was right there with them. I highly recommend this book.

Vantage Point is the fourth book in the Gray Ghost series by author Amy McKinley and if you’ve been waiting for Hawk’s story, like I have, then your wait is finally over. Hawk Ares is the quiet, loner and the sharpshooter for the Gray Ghost team. Stella Klein is the fiery haired and fiery temper waitress neighbor who becomes Hawk’s love interest. While working on a case Hawk overhears his neighbor, “Red”, arguing with a man and takes it upon himself to protect her. Hawk has been infatuated with Red since his first glimpse of her and after a terrible childhood Hawk will do whatever it takes to protect an innocent. What he doesn’t count on is his past coming back to haunt him. I love this series and with every book I fall more and more in love. Hawk has been an enigma since his first appearance and his story does not disappoint. I enjoyed his and Stella’s romance immensely. Stella’s backstory was fascinating with the look into her grandmother’s escape from the Nazis in World War II. Hawk’s past was sad and I found myself tearing up at times and glad that he was able to build his own family. If you are looking for action, adventure, suspense and romance this book hits all the marks.

Hazed by Brittany Butler was a phenomenal college romance read! It’s intense, emotional, touching and heart-wrenching, it was everything I wanted and more! This is the first book in the Hazed series and my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last!
I found that the storyline flowed really well and yes at times I found Taylor to be frustratingly oblivious, but it made her even more relatable as we often ignore suspicious behavior from those we love most. The chemistry between the two main characters had me hooked from the beginning until the very end and I can’t wait to continue this series to get answers to all my questions.

Ok so I have been officially Hazed…This is my first Brittany Butler book and all I can ask myself is Why? I loved this story, parts were not easy to read but that is because they were written in a way that made them feel so so real. I could feel the emotions these characters were feeling, I swear I could. The struggles that plague Hayze and his constant battle to prove he will fix them felt very real and I found myself falling hard for him and wanting so bad to help…Then on the other side I also felt every emotion that Taylor was experiencing and agreeing with her as far as wondering if things would ever be different..This one had me all messed up and then it ended and here i sit wanting…no…needing more…
I loved every word in this book, I adored the characters, even the ones that angered me but they were written so well… The family aspect angered me many times and my heart was totally with Taylor and how she was brought up.
Im totally rambling here…I can only say Read this book…it was written beautifully and I MUST have the next in this series as soon as possible. I also much go look at what I’ve missed by not reading this author much earlier.

When the two worlds collide, will a romance possibly be in the mix?
This was a short story with wonder characters and an interesting plot.
I don’t want to give too much away. I highly recommend it.

The 7th in this series yet stands well on its own, this is my 2nd book by this author and her writing will pull you in and not let go..The descriptions of the surroundings and all that is going on helps in visualizing everything perfectly.
While this is not a chosen genre of mine, I absolutely enjoyed every page and can not wait for the next one which I already have waiting for me, the cover made me notice, the synopsis made me choose it, and the writing has made me stay.
I particularly enjoyed the characters in this story..Conall was awesome and trying to fulfill a promise he made to his father turns out to be more of a challenge than he realized, I loved the family bond between him and Lainn and I loved how real it felt..The interactions between the two made me smile many times.
Looking forward to see where this story goes next and if you are looking for a really good historical fantasy novel do yourself a favor and read all of this series in order..I do plan to do that very soon

Age of Saints by Christy Nicholas Druid’s Brooch Series #7 My Rating 4 out of 5 stars
This is a great fantastical book. The characters are wonderful and the story line is interesting and entertaining. I did not think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. This is not my usual genre but I do urge anyone who is even thinking of giving this book or this series a try, go for it. It did take a minute for me to fully get into the book but after a certain point I could not stop. L
Conall is a good man and an even better brother for always trying to look out for Lainn, no matter what it means for him. I am so happy that Conall decided it was high time they left their house, leaving their mother and step father behind. Their step father is a slimy nasty man and it was truly was is best for them.
When they get to the Faerie realm and meet Ammatán, I assumed things would only get better for the sibling duo. I was eager to see where the relationship between Conall and Ammatán would progress, as well as see what kind of life they could live in this new world.
One dumb move by Conall and him and his sister are forced to flee from Ammatán’s house and they end up back in their world faced with new problems, they have been gone longer than they expected and a lot has changed. The life they knew is now gone and Lainn’s life is now in more danger than before.
I could really go on and on but fear I will give too much information away, and spoil everything. The ending, I wish there was more, I feel like some things were left unsaid but I have hopes that there will be a follow up to Conall and Lainn’s story. I truly enjoyed reading this book and recommend not just this book, but the whole series.

Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch series.
Yet another wonderfully woven tale full of magic. The story makes you feel as if you are there living it. The characters are intriguing and make you feel as if you know them right away. I love the closeness of Conall and his sister, how they lean on each other to make it through trying times. Ammatan is an interesting and colorful character, many facets to him. There are a couple of parts of this story that could go over into another book.

A Wicked Earl’s Widow is the second book in Aubrey Wynne’s Once Upon a Widow series. A Wicked Earl’s Widow follows Eliza as she is plagued by abuse and loss; abused from her father and forced into a marriage she did not agree to. Accept her husband surprises her with his kindness and caring attitude. Together the two fall in love and prepare for the birth of their child, until his sudden death. Eliza is stuck with her terrible in-laws who do nothing but abuse her and plan to marry her off to the next available bachelor, so she is out of their hair. Then in walks Nathaniel, viscount of Pendleton, who is tall, dark, and charming. He’s smitten by Eliza and her head strong personality. I found both their characters to be very enjoyable and their relationship to be very wholesome, and cute. They blended very well together and made the story fly by, that I was almost sad to see it end. The story was not only engaging but also historically accurate to the time and the customs. I really enjoy Aubrey Wynne’s writing, and can’t wait to see what she produces next. 4/5 stars!

The Gray Ghost Novels start with Moments that Define Us. There are three more books and then Vantage Point. This series is amazing. While each story is about a different guy and his girl, I recommend that the series be read in order so that you fully understand what these men went through as children.
Hawk is silent but deadly. He is a sniper on the Gray Ghost team. The team is in the search and rescue department. Stella, or Red is she is lovingly called, is in need of a rescue. Her brother Max is in a bigger need of that rescue as he is the cause of Stella’s distress. Luckily Hawk and his team are able to come to the rescue. But what they uncover is bigger than just Max and Stella.
McKinley has a writing style that keeps me reading, not only page after page, but book after book! I always look forward to what she can entice me with in her next book.

It’s hard for me sometimes to read about the past. The pain and suffering people experienced because of the color of their skin. Claire is very unique in her time. She doesn’t see the issue so she loves and gives from her heart. She stepped up to help when none else would. She didn’t really think of the consequences but that made it more genuine. Her need to help others outweighed her reputation. The author painted us a story that could be true. The life people lived in these times were scary. I really liked Joe as well he grew up in their time apart and I think it’s because he sees more from Claire’s POV. The story made me sad but also happy. Because I look at the world now and know that it isn’t like this much anymore. We share our schools and cultures. We mix our races. We love just because we can. We date whoever we want and live to see another day without fear of that choice. It’s a beautiful thing and the author gave that to Claire. Hope that one day everyone will see life through her eyes. This was a deliciously short read for a hot day by the pool or a cold day with a hot cup of coffee. We find ourselves once again in the Green Room, the area people go once they have passed on, before they get to Heaven or Hell, or maybe even instead of it! Our main character Linda meets alumni Bonnie and Dee and they instantly hit it off. The girls quickly introducing her to their favourite surgeon and inducting her into the ways of the afterlife. Linda was a warm character with an interesting back story which made her likeable. I liked this book as much as the first one and would recommend to people who like a quick burst of fantasy in their busy day.

This is a story thats hard to read as its so relatable.
The characters of this story (Taylor and Hayze) are very well written and so relatable you feel like you are living their lives with them.
Taylor is a young innocent woman who leaves home to go to college. She starts working at a bar where she meets Hayze. Hayze is the bad boy, the player who treats women as playthings. As much as they try to fight it they fall for each other but the relationship is toxic. Hayze has secrets from his past and his present life that he cant share with Taylor and this leads to loads of disagreements and conflict. It all comes to a head when Hayze’s secret life affects Taylor and he has to come clean. Will this revelation be to much for Taylor? No matter how much you love someone can you survivie in a toxic relationship?
This book has left me wanting more, wanting to know the outcome of these peoples choices
