5 Star An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters Book 3) by Erica Taylor is a historical romance that I couldn’t put down once I started reading. I’m going to suggest if you haven’t read the first two books in this series as they will give back stories on the other characters as each Book is about a different Macalister. I’ve truly enjoyed this series and have loved getting to know each character .This story has some secrets, lies,and misunderstandings .Can Sarah.find here HEA!I highly recommend reading this book.(series).I look forward to reading more from this

Feathers: A Novel By Kylie Stewart. Wow! I seriously wish the word wow could some up my feelings on this incredible book , it doesn’t quite do it justice but it’s the best word I can come up with. From Page one I was completely drawn in to this roller coaster ride of emotions. The characters are complex and relatable while they also grabbed my heart and won’t let go honestly. These characters each have a story to be told and I truly believe it shouldn’t be missed. The author does a wonderful job of writing a story that had me climbing inside and never wanting to leave. I wish I could give this book more than five stars but five will have to do. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Dig Two Graves was an emotional thriller that I could not put down. It begins with the disappearance of the main characters son which really tugged at my heart strings. Solomon aka Sol became a completely different man after that. He also had to deal with many other losses. This case follows a possible suicide of a boy who was very similar to Sol’s son. I did not expect the twists that occurred. I was shocked with the outcome. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Lani is an artist on the verge of losing her apartment, etc. She needs a little bit more money to finally get her dream. Things aren’t looking really great until she gets a call, its a call that will change everything for her.
Her uncle that she hasn’t seen in 5 years has put her in his will. She is to inherit a lot of money but she has to go to her uncle’s friend Sam to complete some tasks that only he can help her with. She finds out very quickly just what Sam is and she finds herself very attracted to him.
Deep glacier blue eyes, dark hair sprinkled with light gray, as was his short beard, he was a wet dream in the flesh.
Things get more interesting as the tasks are completed. We get some hot and heavy moments. And we discover there’s more to Sam than originally thought. I was pulled right in by India Kells writing. Once you start, you will be done before you know it. I highly recommend this read, you will really enjoy it.

Rebel Heart by Clara Winter is the second book in The Immortal Kindred series. This could be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book before this one. Annie is a spy and captured by Hessian soldiers in the 18th century. Later she meets Millicent and finds out she has a unique secret. Will she be brought into Millicent’s world? I really enjoy the characters and like we are getting their backgrounds as well as how they are living in the current world. The story is well written and kept me wanting to know more. Annie is great because she is smart and strong but also has her weaknesses. I also enjoyed seeing more of Millicent and Alexandre. I look forward to reading more in this series. It is smartly written and I like the combination of the past centuries and current day.

I have been a fan of this author for a few years now and I have loved everything I have read by her.
Seeing that she wrote a few romantic comedies where the main characters have an embarrassing moment that follows them around, I felt was very unique and a fun twist on the genre.
I recommend this series to anyone looking for cute fast reads.
Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance is the third book in the Platonically Complicated series by Mika Jolie. I have a bit of a crush on Lucas. He is so many of the things I like in a man. He is sweet, has dark and eyes and a beard and his daughter is the center of his universe. One of those qualities makes a guy attractive but put them all together and whew.
Lucas and Kate just work so well together and his daughter Emma loves Kate too which is so important when you’re a package deal.
Kate is a great friend to do what she does to help Lucas out. I don’t know if I could have done the same thing considering the circumstances. She risks her heart just to make sure Lucas is happy.
Very enjoyable read. I wish there had been a little more interaction with Emma, she could have easily been my favorite scene stealer with the way she seemed larger than life in the scenes she was in. I can’t wait to see Cam fall! He is so self assured and confident and I think he’s going to fall the hardest.

A Cold Dark Place (Cold Justice #1) by Toni Anderson was an heart pounding thriller that had me hooked.
My first read by this author, I went in with a open mind and a hope for a gripping thriller. I was not let down, and I got everything I hope to get out of this dark suspense mystery.
Solid writing and a complex plot, right out of the gate the authors sets up the story, and the misdirection that leads to twist turns, and heart clutching moments. The MC’s are multi layer and believable. I did lean a little bit towards Alex, I found him to have more growth and likeability then Mallory. Don’t get me wrong Mallory is a pretty solid character, but I found she has some moments that made me shake my head, and there is one moment towards the end that has me wanting to slap the shit out of her, a very TSTD situation.
Overall this book was engaging, entertaining, and unpredictable. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will hooke you and drag you down into it’s cold darkness.

Dig Two Graves (Detective Solomon Gray #1) by Keith Nixon is a raw and dark read but that is what all the best crime fictions stories are about, right? Add in a cop who has not only witnessed the worst humanity has to offer but he has had to live through several of the most tragic and horrific times of his life. Cynical – absolutely. Damaged – you bet ya. Barely functioning – oh yeah. Keith has woven a magical yet complex thriller where the main character is complex and broken and everything around him goes from bad to worse and the intricate plot is a mystery until the very end. The emotions in this book weigh heavily and will have you all over the place. The story jumps back and forth from the past to the present as we journey along with the memories of what was and today as Sol tries to go on with his life. The story is one I couldn’t put down and had me on the edge of my seat. Sol is a man who is struggling with a past that will forever haunt him and a job that is a constant reminder. A life that is empty and cold. I life where there is nothing makes sense. Dig Two Graves is a must read and will keep you guessing to the very end which will surprise the heck out of you.

This is a collection of three stories that I loved. They are a romantic comedy that left me laughing throughout. They are creative stores that I couldn’t put down until the end. Each story is about someone who has had a wardrobe malfunction that affects their lives somehow. Wait until you see what happens to these characters! The characters are strong, connectable, true to life and steamy. These are a must read short stories that you won’t be able to put down.
Claimed Royalty by Betty Shreffler is the first book in the Crowned and Claimed series. I was a little hesitant to read this because of the setting but I have read and enjoyed other books by Ms. Shreffler so I thought I would give it a try. It started a little slow for me but I truly think it was me not the book.
Fiora is a warrior literally, she is the heir to the throne of her nation and has to go through quite the gauntlet of challenges to show she is worthy of the throne and impress the suitors there.
As she was going the thr process I found myself going for one guy then one of the others, only to change my mind again. By the time I was at the end I was firmly committed to one of them.
The ending of this installment had me gasping and wondering what is going to happen next. I did look to see when the next one will be released and I have to wait patiently until next month for it to come out.

Vortex by Kimberly Packard is a uniquely different story and one that I really enjoyed reading. I absolutely love Storm chasers and the whole thing scares the sh*t out of me but fascinates me immensely. I imagine it’s a tough job with so much risk, yet thrilling at the same time and this book was just how I imagined the chase would be. The story flows easily and is fast paced. This story is a really intense read and is definitely pulls at the emotions. I was on the edge of my seat many many times with my heart in my throat. It is full of danger and secrets and was heartbreaking and sad at times. I enjoyed reading about the complex and compelling heroine as she tries to piece together fragments from the past.
Elaina Adams is an independent and strong woman and has a knack to know when a simple cloud system and storm will turn in to a life threatening creature. It is her passion and she is on her way to getting her doctorate. She is putting herself in danger for answers that only a tornado can provide the answers to.
I would highly recommend reading this thrilling read.
This is a super funny series. From the first book to the last, these stories are filled with cute banter, sexy innuendos and great friendships.
Remember how your granny used to tell you to always wear clean under garments – heck, at least wear them? Well this series helps drive that point home.

I truly think the titles give you enough of an idea as to the general plot point. Each of these stories are also filled with complexity and emotion. The characters are well developed and there isn’t a lot of “filler” to increase word count.

I am a huge fan of this author and this series. THE DEVIL’S SHADOW is the 4th book in the “Wild Beasts” series. I’ve read the other books so knew what threads have come from previous stories. I do believe you could read this as a stand-alone with out being too lost.
If you took the paranormal out of this book, it would be a good, old fashioned, mystery/suspense. WITH the elements that are interwoven in this story – just WOW. It’s a seriously complex tale that held my interest from beginning to end.
This story has an edge to it that engaged me, as a reader, in such a way I didn’t want to put it down. It’s on the longer side of my typical reads so I didn’t read it in one setting as I would have liked.
A very enjoyable story that I definitely recommend.

Claimed is book 3 in The Torzial Affair by Via Mari might have been the best in the series. Just a far waring this book has some intense BDSM scenes in it. With one of Jenny’s problems dealt with now, they just have to figure out how to deal with the mafia. All I’m going to say is – Matt to the rescue this time. I think Brian and Jenny were their hottest in this book and Brian’s dirty mouth was even dirtier –YUM!
Via what can I say about your writing that hasn’t been said yet. Great characters, twist/action and of course great steamy panty melting moments. After reading this series, I am definitely going to go back and read Chase and Kate’s story – I just need to know how everything started.

A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson is the first book in a ten book series and if the rest of the books are half as good as this one, then we are in for a wonderful ride. From the beginning, I was sucked in and it was very hard for me to put the book down to attend to my normal life. Between the chemistry of Alex and Mallory and the intrigue of who the killer may be, this is more than entertaining, its downright enthralling. I love a good thriller but some can be over wrought, too cliche, so I was surprised at how different this story was. It was captivating without seeming tired, familiar but with a twist. I found this book to be just what I needed, something new and exciting and I am eager to start book two.

A great read about change. Alex and Leigh have been best friends since forever. They fall in love as teenagers in a sweet romance. But life separates them as her family moved away. Can their love survive the distance? A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Alex sweet and unsure or Leigh more confident standing up for herself. A sweet tale about how even friendships can sometimes end despite our best efforts and that it is hard to mend. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of a small town with its little shops and small streets and everyone knowing eachother. Also loved how it got straight into the action grabbed the readers attention.A great way to show how Alex came to be the man he is today. I just felt a bit confused after reading the first novel as it felt like it didnt fit with the first story and didn’t feel like a prequel either. If this was clarified, it would be more enjoyable. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

This book was the kind of read that kept me on the edge of my seat. This book was full of action, suspense, and love. This story pulled me in from the beginning and there was never a dull moment throughout the entire read. I enjoyed reading about Lawan and Jon, both of them have their own issues and reasons for hunting vampires. This book was just as good if not better than the last book. This book can be read as a standalone without any trouble. I suggest reading the other books because they are also awesome entertaining reads that you won’t want to miss out on. I highly recommend this book, this is a must read.

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC #5) By A.M. Myers Rated 5 stars
Another outstanding book in the Bayou Devils Series! As per usual, this author made me smile, say WTF, and grin wistfully more than a few times. This author has the ability to really make me *feel* the characters plight. I actually felt sad or happy along with Noah. I was as frustrated as he was a couple times. Not just when someone interrupted me reading this book. 🙂 Noah drew me in with his confidence in his feelings and his ability to recognize his single mindedness for Kady. Kady is a star in her own right but Noah held my heart from the beginning and didn’t let go.
This is filled with some amazing secondary characters. Some we have met before others are new. I loved checking in on the rest of the Devils and their women. I was seeing them from a new perspective since Noah didn’t know some of them. I also want to give a “shout-out” to Hannah! What a wonderful friend! I don’t know many people who still have their BFF’s watching their back so many years later.
My only small issue so much time was spent on the relationship (building-rebuilding)that I felt the ending was rushed. The relationship between the MC’s was easily felt and understood early on but the few issues that these two were having were large and handled quickly near the end. It wasn’t a problem just an observation. I kept watching the page numbers thinking..”How are these issues going to be resolved before I run out of pages?” Not to worry it all got taken care of.
Well another *sweet* story is done with the Devils. I can’t wait to see who is going to get their girl next. I did notice in the back there are a couple more in this series coming this year! Woo Hoo! That makes me extremely happy. I do love these characters as well as the stories.

Trouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty a five-star read that will make you chuckle. This is the eight novel in the Familiar legacy series but you don’t need to have read them all, I have only read number two and five and now eight and I have loved them all, I am sure one day I will get to read them in order but until them I will just enjoy them as I fancy them. You will chuckle reading this one, as well as be kept guessing, Trouble will just make you want to wish he was real as who wouldn’t want a cat that supreme. The story is told from many perspectives so that can get a little confusing but the author deals well and keeps it interesting and clear.

Coming Home is the sequel to Flowers in December by author Jane Suen and takes place four months after the ending of the previous story. This is a story of finding yourself and knowing sometimes what you really need is what you have left behind. Set over the Christmas holiday, Connor Norton decides to honor his mother’s memory and embrace his memories as well as his hometown. Along the way Connor re-familiarizes himself with old friends, possible new love and family tabby, Tom. This was a sweet story continuing Connor’s journey of grief and growth following his mom’s passing. It was a unique way of showing that yes, you really can go home, not to mention that in order to make amends sometimes you need to be the person to make the first move, swallow your pride and just admit that you were wrong. Things may not go quite like you planned but just because one path has ended does not mean that another is not opening for you. I enjoyed this story and hope that Ms. Suen continues Connor’s journey.

The Inheritance was an amazing story – it might have only been a short read but I was hooked from beginning to end! I have read a few books by this author now and I love her writing style. Her books are well written and engaging. Max and Lani were amazing characters; I fell under their spell straight away! The chemistry and sexual tension between them was hot! Max was everything I love in a hot, older dominant – I am definitely in love with him!! Lani was a great heroin, not the naive one I expected either which was great! This is one of those books that you wish you could go back and start all over again! I would have loved it to be longer, just because I couldn’t get enough of these two!! This was a fantastic 5 star read that I highly recommend!! I can’t wait for more from this author again in the future – she is definitely one of my favourites!!

Troubles Wedding Caper by Jen Talty is the eighth book in the Family Legacy series. This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone though and does not have to be read in order. I wasn’t familiar with this series before I read this book but I have really enjoyed it. The characters were easy to connect with and their story was interesting and fun. I liked that there was a bit of adventure to the story and that the pace was fast. It really kept me hooked into the book. This author always seems to write a great book and this series is one I will be going back to start from scratch.
Claimed is the third and final instalment in the Torzial series by Via Mari. I have loved this series, far more than I ever expected- the series really captivated me, and loved every minute that I spent between its pages. I really liked the Prestian series, but I can honestly say that this book and series, are my favourite reads of Ms. Mari’s. They have eclipsed the Prestian series, in my eyes, and left me wanting much more of Ms. Mari’s work. This book picks up right where the previous book left off, so, if you haven’t done so, I really recommend reading the first two books before starting on this one. Just so you are up to date with all the important factors, bridging storyline/s, and exciting developments- that will allow you to both follow and understand all the interconnected threads of the storyline. You don’t need to have read the Prestian books to enjoy this series, but as it has some shared/ recurring characters, as well as some timeline/storyline elements- I would recommend it- as it will definitely enhance your reading experience. As with the other two books, this is a romantic suspense that’s full of action, danger, secrets, hidden agendas, humour, mystery, lots more sexual exploration & awakening, some light bondage, spanking, red hot sizzling scenes, mafia, twists and turns, surprising developments, revelations, intrigue and lots, lots more! There is so much going on in the story, but Ms. Mari orchestrates everything quite effortlessly, keeping me enthralled- and in breathless with anticipation. Ms. Mari really seems to have hit her stride with these books, and seems totally comfortable and at ease with her craft- and it really shows in this well written and captivating story! This is primarily a suspense story- with a great erotic romance woven through it. I love how Via Mari is able to build such intense tension, chemistry, and intrigue- but manages to balance it all with lots of emotion, tenderness, and a little bit of humour. After the intense developments in the last book, things are not quite ‘smooth sailing’ in this book. There are still some serious obstacles to overcome, and a lot at stake. Danger is an ever present threat. Their trust will be tested, again. So, will these two finally find a way to put all the danger behind them and embrace a future together? Or will the sinister forces win out in the end? I really love these two, they are such fantastic characters- superbly crafted, with fully developed and complex personalities. I was completely immersed in their story, emotionally invested in them and their ‘lives’- strung out on all the detail, reading anxiously to discover what happens to them and how their story will ‘end’. A brilliant conclusion to the series!

Broken Sand Dollar is the third and final book in The Sand Dollar Series by J.D Boudreaux. As this is a continuation of a storyline, starting from book one and concluding through to this one, I really recommend reading the other books before jumping into this one. Having all that information will give you a much greater perspective of what’s happened and how we got ‘here’. There are also very relevant details contained in the first two books and having all the information is important. I enjoyed this book more than the first two and I appreciated that the whole thing felt like the author had really hit their stride, and was seemingly ‘comfortable and confident’ with their story, characters and style. There is a little more to it, than first meets the eye, and did have me wondering a fair bit. The author certainly didn’t take it easy on Alex, putting him to the test, over the course of the series. Alex has been quite unlucky in love, suffering several big disappointments. Things were not meant to be, but that doesn’t mean he has come out of it all unscathed. He has chosen to return to the one place that has always held a piece of his heart, the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Here he does some soul-searching, which results in some self-realization. The story was quite engaging- with some drama, frustration, self-discovery, emotion, and more. Definitely my favourite of the three books, and a great way to wrap up the series! I wonder what J.D Boudreaux has in store for us next?

The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive is a riveting five star read by India Kells. OMG!! This Book was fantastic! Ms. Kells is one of my favourite authors, so when I saw this book, I didn’t even have to think about it, and just ‘one-click’- I didn’t even bother reading the blurb- so to say this book surprised me is a bit of an understatement! It wasn’t what I had been expecting- it was so much MORE! This is such an original, fun, emotive, sexy and seductive story. It’s wonderfully written- quite erotic, with sizzlingly HOT encounters, drama, pleasure, pain, grief, guilt, some BDSM, strength, vulnerability, healing, finding ones self, heartache, intrigue, romance, and ART. I devoured it in under an hour, loving every minute and not wanting it to ever end. These wonderful, endearing characters really brought this story to life and made it entirely memorable. What lengths will struggling artist, Lani, go to in order to fulfil her Uncles final request- and ‘earn’ her inheritance? Add to the mix, a very sexy reclusive billionaire, 6 very specific ‘tasks’- and this story really starts to sizzle!!! This might be a short story, but it certainly isn’t lacking in content, packing quite a lot into a small space. The one thing I have learned about Ms. Kells’ stories, and I have said this before- but, things are never simple, there are always layers and complexities that are revealed. I really don’t want to say too much, and give anything away, but, you really should read this incredible story for yourself- you really won’t be disappointed!! Highly recommended reading!!

The Devil’s Shadow is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts Series by T. Birmingham. It is a fantasy/paranormal romance with mystery, action, suspense and drama. I love the way Ms. Birmingham builds the tension and suspense in this book, and as with the other books in the series, she had me on the edge of my seat, reading as quickly as I could, to discover what would happen. This story could be read as a standalone, but I don’t recommend that. If you haven’t read the other books, I really recommend that you do because so much back story, character introductions, and other relevant information is contained in those books- and having all that information on board will greatly enhance your overall reading experience of not only this book, but the series as a whole. As with the other three books, this one also has quite a complex storyline, which Ms. Birmingham has cleverly woven into another captivating instalment. This story focuses on Ginny and Kieran- although characters we’ve met in previous book/s also make appearances. I greatly enjoyed following them on this ‘adventure’ and finding out a lot of the answers to questions that I’d had. The world-building, legend, and lore was incredibly well done, superbly developed- and entirely believable. The characters are extremely interesting, likeable and multi-dimensional. There are emotional factors in this story- moments of extreme heartbreak, as well as other moments that were truly heartfelt. The story has a great pace and is easy to read. I really enjoy Ms. Birmingham’s style and imagination. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Dig Two Graves is the first book in the Detective Solomon Gray Series by Keith Nixon. This is my first book by Mr. Nixon, and it won’t be the last. After finishing this interesting first instalment in the series, I snapped up the other three books in the series so I could keep following Solomon and see what happens next. The story is a little dark, gritty, raw, and emotive. It’s quite a complex story that is not only a crime/murder mystery, but also quite an in-depth character study of the quirky, flawed, and complicated man that is Detective Sergeant Solomon Gray. Solomon has a tonne of baggage that haunts him- he is an obsessed and driven soul, self-medicating with booze, pills, and cigarettes. He’s cranky, prickly, stubborn, and lonely. He has suffered great personal loss over the course of the past 10 years- starting with the disappearance of his (then) 6 year-old son. He hasn’t really ‘lived’ since- his job has become his life. He dedicates every spare moment into going over the case file looking for clues, or exploring any tiny thread of hope, no matter how unlikely. He has never stopped looking for and thinking about his son. But, is weighed down by a heavy burden of guilt and sorrow. So, when a body of a 16 year old boy turns up after an apparent suicide (the same age his son would be now)- it starts off an investigation that will lead Solomon down avenues he never imagined. With twists and turns that he (and I) didn’t see coming, the story kept me guessing right till the end. What will Solomon discover? Where will the investigation lead him? Will he discover what happened to his son? The story is told from both a ‘present’ perspective, as well as showing ‘flashbacks’ of the past. The transitions are seamless and well done. The flashbacks help to build the backstory, as well as adding to our knowledge of Solomon himself. This is a tightly woven plot, with vivid descriptions and clever details. This helped make both the storyline, and characters, realistic and believable. The characters are fully developed individuals with their own quirks, flaws and personalities. I did find it hard to connect and invest in Solomon as a character, and he frustrated me a lot. I did feel for him, as a parent I really empathized with him, and I don’t think you ever get over something like that. I appreciated his dedication, and skills- but would have like him to be a little more endearing. I would also have like some more police procedure/investigation, and suspense- as I felt that this part of the story suffered a little, from the focus on Solomon and his ‘character study’. But, that being said, I still enjoyed the story, and would definitely read more of Mr. Nixon’s work- like I already mentioned, I am already exploring the next few books in this series.
