Jack is the oldest of this gang. Can’t really call them a gang though. As they are more homeless teens then a gang. A place to hang out and be safe. While Jack has graduated from high school, he feels responsible for the other students. His goal is to keep them safe from the drugs, abusive family members and the local gang. Amongst the guys is Jack’s girlfriend Jenni. Problem is she is the sister of the rival gangs leader Rex.
Amy McKinley is just getting started with this short prequel. She has set the stage and her story is a go. What a beginning it is too. This book caught my attention on page one. I hated that it ended so soon. The story is a nail biter, and I was on the edge throughout the book. I am looking forward to reading more from Amy McKinley. Let’s get this story started! As I need so much more of Jack and his family.

5-Star Novel
Out of all of the Ash Park Novels this one by far is my favorite. Hannah Montgomery disappeared in the first book after escaping death from the Looking Glass Killer. She is discovered by Detective Petrosky and Detective Scott. She shares that she may have info on the person who killed Petrosky’s daughter so instead of hauling her in for questioning he provided her a safe place to stay.
I loved Hannah being back in this novel. I really liked her character in the first book. The author never ceases to amaze me with the detail in her books. I also like that Petrosky seemed to be remade into a better man with this novel. This novel was also an emotional one but very enjoyable. I thought I had it figured out toward the end but there was a change I did not foresee.View all my reviews

I’ve taken 2 days to write this review as I’m still trying to process all that happened. Ive become attached to all these characters through this series and the events in this book pushed me to the brink of throwing in the towel. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster this took me on. The story had me hooked and I had to finish and to say the ending leaves me wanting to pick up book 5 to see what happens would be an understatement, I NEED to read it! This novella sets the stage for the adult Gray Ghost series.
This was a lot of book for just under seventy pages! I have personally read the rest of the Gray Ghost Novels from Amy McKinley and I am still pondering if this is one of those prequel novellas that must be read before you read the books that come first or not? I for one feel like this opened my eyes to a lot of things that may have just not quite had clicked for me before after reading the previous two. I do wonder if that was intentional though of the author all along. Especially after reading this latest book. Regardless, I would highly recommend that at some point all the books in the series.
This one really does exactly what it says it will. It shows us how these teenage boys came into the adults they are today. These boys have suffered in their own individual ways. It has led them to live a paramilitary lifestyle and form a group to protect the abused and weak. In a way they could be described as a modern day group of ‘Robin Hoods’. These are the reasons why they are the way they are. I loved this one, and I can’t wait to find out what will come next in book three, Beneath the Surface!

Each novel in the Ash Park series just gets creepier and creepier. This one is sick and twisted. This book isn’t for the faint of heart. Hidden starts off with a murder just like the rest of the series. But that basement…man, why are basements so creepy? The killers in each of these stories are so messed up.
Hidden is book 4 and is part of a series that really should be read in order. The main characters, Detectives Morrison and Petrosky, are hard at work trying to make Ash Park a safer place. But evil ranks high here. And it seems as if its an evil they already know. References are made to situations from the first three books so if you haven’t read the first ones you will be wondering about certain things. This series is so worth the time.
O’Flynn’s writing makes my heart pound and my breath short! Her stories also make me hug my loved ones a little extra after every chapter! I would recommend this book, this author and this series to the reader that likes gore, mystery, and heartache. This is not a fairytale with rainbows and unicorns. No sparkly sunshines here.
My Hidden Life by Necie Navone is A Brothers of Camelot Prequel. Alessandra learns very early on in her life how dangerous being part of her family can be. It is a lesson she is taught in the most harsh of ways. And yet Alessandra knows that she must step up to be the leader of her family, to be everything she knows she can be and more. This book was brilliant. It has you hooked immediately. The writing completely draws you in. I liked how the POV varied as it made the book even more interesting. Alessandra was a great character to read about – she was strong and determined. This was a great book and I cannot wait to read more.

The Jack (The Immortal Series Book 2) By M.K. Harkins Rated 5 stars!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. This is a great sequel!! It blends well with the first one (The Reader). The beginning starts out two years after the ending of all Jacks. Archer is living a life he doesn’t want. He secretly watches Ann and her family from afar. Since he is supposed to have perished and possibly committed murder he can not approach or he will be committed to prison after Devon works him over. So when a slip of a girl approaches Archer to warn of impending doom for Ann and her family. What will Archer do? Give himself up for Ann again? Or let her perish? What a great start right?!
I enjoy hanging out with these characters. It started in The Reader and it continues here in The Jack. We still get to see Devon and Ann but we are able to learn more about Archer (yes!) and Lucy. Lucy is a force to be reckoned with..I can’t wait to get her story (Hopefully). Archer…..well he can’t catch a break! He seems to be in the same position as the last book. Love triangle! Grrr! That poor boy! He has skills and is cute with his blond looks. He is fun and that smile is charming. When it isn’t covered by sadness and guilt.
There are new characters (good and bad) that we meet. They all add some fun and adventure to the story. A few we get more insight as they have a more active role. My favorite was Sadie. She has some fire and stubbornness to her. Plus she is a forward thinker which will help out the main crew. Her and Archer are kinda like oil and water….at first.
The story drew me in and kept my interest. I loved the idea of the Readers, Jacks and Seers. Plus they live in a mountain! Seriously how ingenious! The gadgets they have are so cool! It’s a fascinating world these people live in. The story moves forward nicely and I struggled to figure out who the bad people were. Which was awesome! I enjoy stories that intrigue me and keep me guessing. Ha ha that’s what makes me speed through….so I can figure it out. The author keeps me interested by giving information out but not too much. Very well done!
This is easily a favorite series and I look forward to reading more. I can’t wait to see how Archer, Sadie, Devon and Ann fare in future stories. Oh and I don’t want to forget Lucy!

Archer just exists now. His once best friends hate him. The woman of his dreams is in love with the man he considered like a brother. He cannot move on. But when a woman warns him that his friends are in danger, he cannot only not get her out of his head, he thinks she might be of a race thought to be long gone. Does he warn these people who now hate him?
Sadie is the last seer, and it has been foretold that she is to kill the last Jack. They are an evil race and must be permanently eradicated. But then she starts events that have her surrounded by Archer and the Readers. The more she gets to know Archer, the more she feels for him. Are they sure he is the last Jack? Can she go through with it?
This is such a great book. It has been a while since since I read book 1, and it took a little bit for me to get back into it, but once I did I could not put it down. There is so much going on and so many twists and turns that you will never see what happens next. Incredible writing makes this story even more interesting. Sadie is a great new character and I like how she interacts with the others while keeping her secret to herself.
I recommend reading book one first, but I highly recommend this book and series for lovers of fantasy with some suspense thrown in for good measure.

Wow! What an amazing story! The world building was perfect. The characters drew me in and didnt want to let go. They were fun, serious, different and strong willed. I even chuckled and said “Oh!” A couple times. I loved the story of the readers, the jacks and the seers. Ann, Archer and Devon were Intriguing and I just kept turning pages until I knew all about them and all their secrets. I was amazed by Ann more than once. She might have no memory but those memory muscles….they work perfectly. Ha ha. Right Devon?? I loved the idea of “The Lost One”. Some of the history was tedious but it was needed as well to understand the future story. I enjoyed learning about where The Readers lived and how they made things work. Very smart!
If Ann is the Lost One she will need to soul bond with either Devon, Archer, Lucy Or Marcus. What happens if more than one feels the beginnings of the bond. Who will Ann choose?
This is not my first book by the author. I enjoy all of her stories. They are inventive and interesting. This one was no exception. There was action, action and more action. The wording flows nicely and the story catches my attention. I loved the world and the characters.

Give and Take is the 2nd book in The Thorne Brothers Series by Lee Kilraine. There are 6 Thorne brothers and I’m sure that each will have their own book. Although the series revolves around the 6 brothers and their construction company Six Brothers Construction, each book can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn’t read the first book and did not feel that this hampered my enjoyment or understanding of this book. The six brothers had an awful childhood and spent most of it split up and living with foster parent. They set up their company as a way of them all being together. In Give and Take we have the story of youngest brother Wyatt. Wyatt feels that he owes his brothers so much as, being the youngest, he was shielded from much of the horrific life they lead. He is training to become an architect as this would save their company a lot of money and he feels that this is his way of paying his brothers back. When the brothers decide to help out a new company by giving them office space, we are introduced to Rhia Hollis. Rhia is everything that Wyatt is not. She’s loud, full of fun and a total scatter brain. It’s a match made in hell. She’s the family black sheep in a family full of scientists and she’s trying to prove to her family that she can be a successful business woman. I loved reading Rhia and Wyatt’s story. Their interactions when they have to share an office are hysterical. They could not be any more different if they tried. I also loved the interactions of Wyatt’s brothers. The way that they do everything to get a rise out of him is so endearing. I was gripped to this story right from the very beginning. I adore the characters in this book and really want to read the rest of this series to see what the author has in store for the rest of the brothers.

Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen contains the three books Alterations, Game Changer, and Primal Will. So glad this came out in a set. I have recommended in the past to read the books in order because they pick up after each other. This is a creepy sci-fi dystopian set of novels dealing with our need to improve ourselves. Alterations: Alterations by Jane Suen is a futuristic, psychological thriller. The story is about three women who get an implant put in them to help them with different aspects of their lives. The story is interesting and different from other stories I have read. I enjoyed the three different female characters and the differences between them. They all had relatable aspects and problems that many women deal with daily. The doctor helping them seemed interesting also despite not being in the story much. I really enjoyed the concept and the story. I would have enjoyed a longer book with more background and information about the characters. There seemed more that could have been explored. I hope to read more from this author in the future and will keep an eye out for her books. Game Changer Game Changer by Jane Suen is the second book in the Alterations series. I recommend reading the first book first in order to get the full impact of what is going on in the story. This book picks up after the first and continues the stories of the nefarious Dr. Kite and the three women whose lives he changed. I enjoyed getting more in the story of Gigi, Lilly, and Ellen. I continued to hope the best for the women and that they would recover from their experiences with Dr. Kite. This book is again full of suspense and mystery. I wanted to know where the story was going and am curious as to where the last book in the trilogy will take their experiences. Primal Will Primal Will by Jane Suen is the third and final book in the Alterations series. The conclusion of the story did not let me down. I recommend reading these in order because one story flows to the next. I was really curious as to how Gigi, Lilly, and Ellen would handle their experiences of being subjects of Dr. Kite. Each of the women had a different experience but still had after effects to handle. Dr. Kite is on the run. Will the women allow Kite to run and hide? I like that each of the women are different from one another but with this common thread in their lives. They are strong and a bit fierce. I’m glad to have read the entire series and go on this adventure.

This part of the story follows the Prosecuting Attorney Shannon Taylor. She is a hard woman. Burned by her cheating ex husband who happens to be her boss. She’s tough and has more guys friends than girlfriends. She is beginning to question what she believes is the truth. She loves her family. And someone is trying to get her to quit.
Then there’s death. Death of the bad guys, death of the people who know too much, and even death of loved ones. It’s the loved one’s deaths that make this story feel too much like reality and really brings on the tears. But having a support system, just that one person to lean on, truly helps. Shannon Taylor has that with her best friend, Curt Morrison. He’s also a detective. He’s Petrosky’s partner, from book one.
Conviction has a little of everything, the murdering psychos, a little romance, and all the feelings that go with them. This author really keeps me entertained with the story line, as I really never know who the murderer is or what is going to happen next.
I enjoyed this story and can not wait to read the next in this series!
The Romance in Rehoboth Boxed set by KL Montgomery includes the first three books in the series. What a great way to get several lighthearted stories together. These can be read out of order but why would you when you have them all together. Fat Girl Fat Girl by K.L. Montgomery is the first book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. These are standalone stories but with characters that carry over from one story to the next. Claire is going through a reinvention of herself after her divorce. She is fat and had a lifelong challenge with her weight. She is a blogger/journalist who decides to join the online dating world. Her character is relatable and fun. I could relate to her because the character is the same age as myself and so were her references from her past. I liked the story and read this quickly. If you are needing a fun read this is for you. The Flip The Flip by K.L. Montgomery is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. This can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. The story is about Andrew and Sonnet who were academic rivals in high school. When both jointly inherit a house ten years after high school can they put their differences aside? Andrew is the underachiever who enjoys his life. Sonnet is the overachiever who wants to continue her education and lead girls into the sciences. The two decide to flip the inherited house. There were elements that reminded me of “The Money Pit”. This was a fun read that kept me from putting it down. I wanted to see where the story went. The characters were relatable and realistic. I hadn’t read the first book in the series but am now going back to catch that one before continuing to the next book. I hope that the stories are as fun as this one. Plot Twist Plot Twist by KL Montgomery is the third book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading in order because some of the secondary characters were introduced in earlier books. Lindy wants to hide from the limelight but is convinced by friends to become involved in a local theatre production. Meric is a newly divorced accountant by day but a handsome actor after work. Can Lindy overcome her insecurities to allow Meric to be more than a friend? I have enjoyed the other books in the series and this one did not disappoint. The characters have real issues and to face not only themselves but also those around them. KL Montgomery gives another strong female character and reminds us that there are nice guys out there.

The Jack is the second book in The Immortal Series by M.K. Harkins. This is an extremely good New Adult fantasy- full of action mystery, suspense, danger, secrets, emotion, intrigue, and romance. Although you could read this book as a standalone, I really recommend reading The Reader before setting off on this adventure. The Reader is where we meet Archer and what happens in that book really sets the tone and direction of Archer’s story, so having all that information would be highly beneficial, and allow you to fully comprehend the situation, character, motivation, and back story. I must admit that I was quite interested to see how this story would unfold, especially considering the events in the previous book. I had several scenarios and directions that I thought the story might take. BUT……THERE WAS NO WAY THAT I COULD HAVE EVER PREDICTED ANY OF THE EVENTS IN THIS BRILLIANT STORY!!! WOW!!! My mind is still reeling with it all. I’m still thinking about it several days later. A sure sign of a really great story! Fantastic! There is quite a lot going on between the covers of this book, and I enjoyed following along as everything played out. I can always rely on Ms. Harkins to deliver a captivating story, no matter the genre, and this story/series is testament to that. It’s been two years since The Reader, but within minutes it was all coming back to me, and I was once more fully immersed in the fantastic world that Ms. Harkins created. Ms. Harkins uses her wonderful word-smithing capabilities to craft interesting and unforgettable characters, as well as an extraordinary world in which her characters, and story, come to life. Her attention to detail, intricately woven plot, descriptive language and phrases, are fantastic- painting my mind with vivid images. Then there were the twists and turns that left me quite speechless- she’s such a clever storyteller!!!!! These incredibly surprising developments really had me in a flipping frenzy, devouring the pages to find out what happens and how it all works out. I was definitely hooked from the very beginning and didn’t set it down until I had consumed the whole thing- reading it in one sitting. That ending! OMG- I wasn’t ready to leave! I need to know more! Please let there be another instalment in the works!!! As always, I am looking forward to Ms. Harkin’s next book- whatever it may be.

If you love murder mysteries, detectives that never quit, and stories that keep you guessing while turning the pages, then this is a book for you.
Detective Petrosky has a past that we get bits and pieces of throughout the story. It doesn’t seem like a good past, which makes him a hardened cop. But he’s perfect for Ash Park and the killer that’s on the loose.
Hannah has a past of her own, which is why she’s in Ash Park. But the sad thing is her past followed her here. Now people around her are dying.
Meghan O’Flynn is a new to me author so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story. What a surprise! While this story is gruesome to read it is quite the adventure with surprises at every turn. Well worth the read. This story is written in every character’s point of view which certainly keeps the mystery going of who the killer might be! There seems to be an awful lot of crazy in these characters heads.
Looking forward to the next book to see where Detective Petrosky and his friends end up!

I liked Archer’s characters who is trying to seek redemption and I loved his journey and really felt for him.

Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is a wonderful contemporary romance that’s packed full of emotion, which is definitely something I have come to expect when reading one of Ms. Sullivan’s novels- my emotions will always get an absolute battering, and of course this story was no exception. I loved ‘Our Next Chapter’, so I was excited to read this book to see how the characters, and storyline, evolve. Although this can be read as a standalone, it does kind of follow-on from our next chapter- so it would be advisable to read that book first, then embark on this read. Quinn is the daughter of Karalyn and Dez, from ‘Our Next Chapter’- and I was so happy to finally get to know her, especially since her ‘being’ played such a pivotal part in the last book- so to see her relationship with her parents now(especially Dez, and if you read ‘Our Next Chapter you’ll know why this was so special for me), and then following her and Noah through all the highs and some lows, of their story, really was quite moving for me! Quinn and Noah really are perfect for each other. I joined their cheer squad fairly early on in the story and was cheering them on the whole way. That’s not to say that this was a simple and straightforward journey for them- but I laughed, cried, and felt everything right alongside them. There were heart-aching details, tender, touching, spicy, and romantic moments- that all added up to make this book every bit as good as “Our Next Chapter”! Another memorable story from Ms. Sullivan.

This is a Coming of Age-Crime Family story that I couldn’t put down until the last page. This is my favorite yet by this author. I loved how she pulled me into the story from the first word. This is a story about a young girl whose future is to run the Canzano Family. Alessandra is a strong girl who struggles to feel normal in a normal family. There are some emotional situations that pulled at my heartstrings but they make the story into what it is. I highly recommend this book!

The Jack (The Immortal Series Book 2) By M.K. Harkins
The Jack is the second book in the Immortal series by M.K. Harkins. This series is off to an awesome start and can’t wait to see what happens in following books. I love the writing style of this series so far and I really hope the writing style continues throughout the series. It’s the exciting carry on from the reader, which I would highly recommend that you read first. With the Jack we get taken a couple of years in the future, where at the end of the Reader we saw the Jacks were just about made extinct. What I found in the Jack was the characters growth, which makes for an even better book. You will love this book especially if you like all the drama, the suspense and of course what is a book with out some romance thrown in to. I seriously recommend that this series is read, you will love it.

So. This book is nuts. It’s like riding in a roller coaster car but instead of it being on a track like any normal, sane person would ride on, the car starts at the top of a mountain. The prologue starts as your car tips over the side to see that the trail down is full of switchbacks and you realize pretty quickly into the first chapter that you’re going to be careening down each of those sharper than a pin turns at breakneck speed. Unless you put this book down (highly unlikely) and walk away for a moment to collect your thoughts, the story of Finn and Delaney gives you almost no room to recover from the whiplash of emotions and startling revelations. Finn is a dragon enforcer, hot as fresh baked bread (and just as delicious), and he’s sealed his heart against the thought of finding a mate. New potential mates are found less and less every year, and the tragedy of what happened to the woman he thought was his mate is literally his own personal torture. I can’t blame him. Delaney has weird fires starting up around her when she passes out and they’ve followed her. She also has lost loved ones in a tragic accident and has the added bonus of a stalker. Lovely. She has more strength than Finn has ever seen and she will not take the chance that one of these fires will hurt someone. Finn is drawn to her but he’s concluded she’s just a normal human, right? RIGHT?!? Also this is book one of a series. Score.

Hidden by Meghan O’Flynn is the forth book in her Ash Park Series and this one kicks the series into a whole new level of sinister. Hidden takes place two years after Repressed and an old foe has resurfaced. When they fall into Petrosky and Morrison’s radar, but the stress of addiction, stress and guilt is weighing heavily on Petrosky. Could this be the end of the line for him? Will Morrison be able to save her partner or will this be Petrosky’s last case? This twists and turns in this book, and this series as well, will keep you on the edge of your seat from page one until the end. The personal tone to this book, compared to that of the other books was a nice change of pace. Getting to see the facets of each of the cahracters as they evolved really made this a great read for all of the series. Hidden will take you on a long emotional ride that is guaranteed to leave you more than a little raw as it stomps on your heart and then tries to piece it together just to go through the process again. O’Flynn does it again. While I felt like I needed to slow down on reading this book, I still couldn’t seem to put it down. This book will make you want to leave the lights on, and watch for what goes bump in the night. This book gets my highest of high ratings, I completely recommend reading this book in series order as the characters growth from book one until now really made this an excellent read and one that I can’t wait to dive into time and again. I can’t wait to see where O’Flynn takes us from here!

The Boss by Abigail Owen is splendidly written tale of dragon shifters. My first time reading this author’s work was entertaining and oh, so memorable. I didn’t expect to love it quite so much. What a beautiful discovery! These finds are what reinforces my love for words and the immeasurable pleasure I experience when I come across such talent.
Finn and Delaney wholeheartedly captivated me. Their story was intriguing, mysterious and full of sinister characters, loyal friends and a smoking hot couple. The way the book evolved, was very engaging and difficult to put down. I hung off every word, waiting for the next drama to unfold. The longer the story went, the more involved I became. It was stunning to read. It is a severe understatement to say this story was fantastic. It provided so much more than I could possibly put into words. I want to read it again. Immediately.
The Boss was everything and more. Abigail Owen penned a descriptively striking story that has left me with precious and beautiful memories. A favourable one click author to add to my library. 5 wonderfully well deserved stars.

Give and Take is the second book in Lee Kilraine’s Thorne Brothers series and my first experience with both the series and Lee Kilraine’s writing. Despite being the second book in the series I didn’t find it difficult to follow the storyline at all having not read book one. Give and Take was a really strong read for me, I felt that both the main characters were fantastic with the kind of substance that really makes you want what is best for them, you feel invested. Coming from a close knit family that has always been supportive Rhia’s family infuriated me and I really felt an emotional connection to her character, if that isn’t a sign of strong writing I don’t know what is. I loved the character development throughout the storyline and most of all the sincere relationship between Wyatt and Rhia. Both characters are very similar and at their core want what is best for each other, it was nice to read a story with chemistry, wit and emotion while being completely realistic. I really enjoyed Give And Take and will be going back to read the first Thorne Brothers book in the near future.

Our Unexpected Hope Michelle Sullivan 4 out of 5 stars
I recently read Our Next Chapter, the story of Quinn’s parents and when I learned that there would be a book dedicated to Quinn’s story I was honestly excited. While Our Next Chapter wasn’t about Quinn, I thought she was a secondary character that really helped make that story. These books read well as stand alone books and the prologue gives you a brief, but sufficient background anyway so you don’t need to feel like these books should be read in a particular novel. I will say I am someone that enjoys seeing past characters reappear as secondary characters later so I was thankful to have read both books in the order I did. As the storyline progressed I found Quinn and Noah’s love story to be sweet and wholesome but irritating in how fast things progressed, funny coming from someone that believes “when you know, you know.” I’m not sure when the switch happened for me, but I ended up really coming to appreciate their love story. The obstacles they faced were common for many couples and incredibly relatable but not something I read in many novels giving Our Unexpected Hope a really fresh feel for me. Overall the book was very well written and full of pure emotion. I love the family dynamic between Quinn, her parents and even Noah and I love that Dez and Karalyn were so tightly woven into this story. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from Michelle Sullivan.
Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers) by Lee Kilraine had me hook, line and sinker. The story is well paced, flowed easily and packed a punch. Emotions run high in this book and at times I wanted to cry and others I was laughing out loud. The characters mad me love them all and just cracked me up. This story shows that families come in all shapes and sizes and even broken ones can be more than “whole” ones. The hurt and suffering and vulnerabilities that each and every one of this family of Brothers endured, are both heart aching and heart wrenching but together they are whole, well as much as they can be, as long as they have each other. I loved the bonds between them and their different, yet winning personalities and their playful and heart warming crazy banter. When opposites attract, coming together makes sparks fly and hearts fill. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

I’m still catching my breath. This action packed thriller had me white knuckles for most of its pages. The characters are strong and engaging. The author does a fantastic job drawing the reader immediately in and having them quickly become invested in the fate of each character. It was fast paced and richly detailed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will gladly recommend it to others.

It will cut ground shipping to half the time of the maritime routes. The cost of shipping goods into Europe will fall considerably making Chinese exports/imports even more viable to its trading partners in Russia and Europe.” “Hmmm.” “Why do you ask?” “I heard Ivanov’s men talking about the Silk Road. Silk Road is the sixth book in the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. As we have discovered in the previous book/s, this series centres around the Raven Group, which is a top-secret, special ops team who help to keep the world a safer place- and the series chronicles the action-packed missions they embark on. This latest mission may just be the most challenging one yet. The story starts with Luke whisking Samaar(Luci) away to the Maldives for a much-needed break and Zach headed to Washington Dc after a call from his friend Mike, a former Navy SEAL buddy, who needs his help. Himanish is in Geneva doing what he does best, keeping tabs on everything, and starts to put some worrying pieces together. Children are going missing from all around the world, mostly from remote areas, leaving their families devastated. So, when these abductions hit closer to home for members of the team- Luke Raven will do everything in his power to get to the bottom of it all and return the children to their families. This truly is an international mission, taking the team from Canada to Paris, The Maldives, Geneva, Washington DC, China, Tel Aviv, London, and even to Kyrgyzstan in central Asia as they try to uncover who’s been behind a wave of human kidnapping. The team pulls together, digging deep, using all their skills, contacts and networks to follow the trail- as the case becomes more complicated than they ever imagined. We catch up with characters we know and love, as well as meeting some new ones. I love that each book in this series allows me to get to know the (recurring) characters a little bit better each time. I love watching the relationship between Luke and Samaar/Luci (and adorable Alice) develop more in this book. The little bit of romance and some touching and tender moments helped to lighten the darker topics covered in the storyline. This is definitely one of my favourites of the series, so far. The story was an action-packed adventure, with dramatic developments, danger, abduction, intrigue, suspense, human trafficking, drug cartels, life and death situations, high stakes risk, covert ops, high-tech gadgets, social and political issues, camaraderie, friendship, bonds, romance, depravity, heart-aching situations, and so much more I am really enjoying this series, which just seems to get better and better with each new instalment! I am really looking forward to my next adventure with the Raven Group!

This is my second book by this author and she blew me away with In The Pursuit of Charity, and then I read this one…I absolutely loved everything about this story. It deals with some real life things and some real life feelings and the start of this book totally threw me off, I was like hold it, I have to go back and read the synopsis LOL Then once it got going it made perfect sense.
Kennedy and Max…I don’t even know where to begin with these two, he was everything i want in a male lead and she was so completely awesome and so real as far as her feelings and her inner dialogue. I loved the way they interacted and OMG the “may I have this dance” took my breath away…and I want a Hank, no, correction I need a Hank 🙂
I absolutely love this author..Not sure what it is about her style but for me it is spot on and every word on every page was needed, no filler fluff stuck in there to make the story longer..It was awesome!
I absolutely can not wait to read more from this author and if you haven’t read anything by her yet, do yourself a favor and pick this book up, I just know you will love this as much as I did.

Ed Petrosky is a crochety old detective, who has been imagining his last days for a while now. He struggles mentally and physically to make it through every day. After losing his daughter and partner he is planning on seeing them again soon. Can his new partner and a youngster from Vermont make him whole again? What about Shannon and the kids? He can’t shut everyone out.
Finally….Finally someone who doesn’t take Petroskys crap!! I love this lady/Petrosky’s new partner already! She is quick, smart and has an aura or some might call an attitude. I was worried about Petrosky. He has had some horrible thoughts these last few books. They were becoming more prominent. Hopefully this *new* partner can “shake him out of his funk”….as Shannon would say.
The murder of Petrosky’s daughter Julie has haunted him through all the series. He was never able to find out who killed her. Thinking about her has led him down dark paths thinking he failed her. Will he finally get his redemption?
This is a good book but not my favorite of the series. There was too much inner dialogue or demons to contend with. The story was solid and a fitting ending for the series. I miss the characters that make me smile while reading all the sick and twisted scenes. They kind of balanced out the darkness.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a romance novel with a focus on music and the afterlife. Musician Colbie is nearly killed in a car crash and has a second brush with death on the operating table. When her heart stops, she encounters Michael who may just be the soul mate she’s been searching for. The narrative jumps around in time, giving us flashbacks that fill in the background as the story unfolds. There’s a fair bit of mystery that unravels over the course of the story. It keeps you hooked as there’s always more to uncover! I really like the way Colbie is written, and how she interacts with the many supporting characters. I particularly like Lyric, her daughter, Ali, her friend and Dani, her sister. While it is a romance novel, it celebrates many different kinds of love which is lovely to read. The musical side of things adds an interesting dimension to the story. It’s wonderful to read about how Colbie experiences music – it encourages me to rethink how I’m listening to music! I give this book four stars. It’s a moving story, and great if you want something that will take you on an emotional journey.
