I found this book to be incredibly relatable and felt like I was walking along Emily through the story. She’s an introvert who feels awkward, never finding her place to fit into. I think we have all been at the place in our life where we don’t answer “How are you” with a genuine answer, but a smile and avoid any real emotion. Emily feels like she doesn’t fit in and has been on a long road to self-love. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but I’m so glad I picked this one up. I recommend it highly and am looking forward to other adventures from Christine Bernard!

I was very excited for this book, so I ended up reading it not realizing it was so far into the series. I didn’t really feel lost which was helpful for me, but after getting sucked into it now I am definitely grabbing the first three books in The Balefire series! This is steamy, mysterious, entertaining and did I say steamy? Adam and Cristy have chemistry that jumps right off the page, but will it build into something more or just stay a spark? After all the truths are revealed, you’ll have to read to find out. I won’t give anything away, but I highly recommend picking Hot For Me up (as well as the rest of the series!) I’m picking up books 1-3 now and will be following this author closely to see what else they have in store!

I love rockstar romance, and this book delivers. Adam is the bassist for the rock band Balefire. Christy is the pop star who joins their tour. Adam and Christy have immediate chemistry and flirt up a storm. There are things from the past that appear and how each handles it will determine their future. I really liked Adam and Christy and enjoyed their story a lot.
This is the 4th book in the series, but you can read it as a standalone

OMG I don’t think I can honestly come up with the right words to describe exactly how damn AMAZING this book is or how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! Sorry I know I am shouting but I just don’t know what else to do! 5 Stars just isn’t a high enough rating. I read the Prequel to this book and was not so patiently awaiting for the rest of the story. I just knew it had to be amazing and it in no way disappointed! I was completely hooked from the very first sentence until the very last word and I stayed up half the night to finish it because I simply could not Put it down. The chemistry between Issac and Mina (Jack) is indescribable and right from the start you want everything to work out for them. There are some great twists in the storyline that will keep you turning page after page and all the characters will tunnel into your heart. I can’t wait for more from this truly amazing series and this extremely talented and creative author.

Haunting. Bizarre. Suspenseful. Twisted. Tormenting. Sad. Hollow.
These are a few words to describe this novel as well as how it left me feeling at the end. This one will grip you from the first page and leave you possibly doing a happy dance and throwing a victory fist in the end.
Samantha “Sam” has had enough of her mother and living in New Mexico. Her sights are set on the big lights of California and the dream of becoming a well-known actress. Once she gets confirmation of an audition, Sam sets the wheels in motion to find an apartment and get herself out to California. When the audition doesn’t go as planned, Sam looks for work and has to look no further than a local coffee shop. She’s given a warning the first day of work to never be late and has no intentions of doing so. Her co-worker Michael is giving her some weird vibes and her boss…well he’s a bit of a creep but he’s given her an opportunity to work while looking for her big break.
Then Corey enters her life. He has a nice car, a huge house with a pool, and seems to be on the right track in life. Afterall, he has a friend who is going to introduce Sam to the right people and get her the auditions she’s been after. Corey isn’t around much though. He’s flying important people all around the world.
Things start to get weird for Sam and she finds out she’s pregnant, although she doesn’t remember doing anything that would cause that for her. That’s when Corey drops the bomb on her that she’s to exchange her baby for her acting career. Sam starts to find out that she really can’t trust anyone she knows and something isn’t sure she should trust herself.
This book isn’t going to be for everyone. There are several issues that could be triggers for certain people. I did find this book enjoyable though and was a bit intrigued as to how it all happened right up until the very end. There were parts of the story that did seem to drag some but overall, a recommended read.

This is the second book in the Langston Falls series and we follow Walt! This was such a great second book in the series. I do recommend reading the books in order so you can know the back story to the characters. Walt is still young and has a lot to learn but when he meets Elyse he is instantly attracted to her. Elyse being attracted to him finds ways to spend more time with him. Of course what would any romance be without bumps in the road. This book leads so seamlessly into the third book. I cannot wait to read Breathless Love next!

Shameless Love: A Small Town Opposites Attract Romance is the second book in The Bennetts of Langston Falls series. Walt is the brother who is fierce and will do anything to take care of those he loves. Elyse is a television producer who is helping his sister Becky find more success. This is a definite opposites attract story with sultry flames attached. I was excited to learn more about Walt after his introduction in the first book of the series and was not disappointed. Also, this can easily be read as a standalone book (but read the first one). I enjoyed the character of Elyse and how she became involved with the Bennett family. The tension between Walt and her was great. I look forward to the next book in this series and getting to know the Bennett’s a bit more.

I really liked this book! Didn’t realize it was part of a series so I’ll have to go back and read the others. But are considered standalone so technically not necessary. The chemistry between Adam and Cristy is the best! They’ve had to go through some things but who doesn’t? If you love a good rockstar/pop star romance, read this! You won’t be disappointed. Really well written and I’m glad I read this. I went in blind. Highly suggest checking it out.

Straight for the Kill is the third book in the Benoit and Dayne Mystery series. This can easily be read without having read the first two books in the series. The author gives enough background, so I did not feel lost with the different characters or the situations that arose. I enjoyed reading about Sheriff Elizabeth Benoit and Deputy Detective Lila Dayne. This was an interesting mystery because it not only contained a case from 25 years in the past for the characters but also a current case. I liked how the cases were personal for Benoit and how smart and well-thought-out they worked the different cases. This book kept me reading, and I look forward to catching up in this series to learn more about Benoit and Dayne. If you like a good mystery and topical topics such as corruption in your mystery, this is a great book to grab.

She breaks down the “yellowpages” into editing, formatting, and marketing categories. I picked this up because I’m interested in writing and possibly self-publishing, but I still need help with the moving parts. So you are not good with graphics or the marketing part, there is a group of different companies you can contact. She gives contact information and breaks down what services each company can offer. This is a great way to help people find the assistance they need. I was curious about this because I have read some of her fiction books. I am glad I stumbled across this invaluable resource.

This book is a great mix of historical romance and fantasy. It is a fairly exciting story and I found myself drawn to it. It is a pretty fast paced story, and once I had started reading it I found it hard to stop. I thought the characters were brilliant. Anna was such a strong character. For me, she carried so much of the book and it was her that kept me reading. This is a pretty new author to me and I am still getting used to her writing style. I loved that she combined these two genres and she did it so well. There was some strong development throughout the story and it just made the book even better. I am very much looking for book two.

Deadly Intentions is a deliciously erotica romance tale that lives up to its name. Anise Storm has magic fingers when it comes her writing. I love her work that I have read most of her books. It is raw, dark and gritty and it is a captivating read. The darker, the grittier the better I say. A dark mafia thriller romance gets the heart pumping. With enough danger and violence, secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear, intrigue to keep the pages turning. I did at times find there was repeated information as with the flashbacks then reiterating it again wasn’t necessary. Nazario is a character you will either love to hate or hate to love. He becomes quite a different man not someone likeable. His moods are like being on a rollercoaster. Just when you think you understand his actions he proves you wrong. Viviana was a strong and sassy woman but that all changed when she was around this man. She did surprise me though and didn’t see it coming. Revenge is sweet or is it?
Gwyn does it every time. She is one of my all-time reads I really love her work. The book title is a very apt title. Ruthless Hawke can be read as a stand-alone. It is more than just a contemporary romance tale. Ruthless Hawke is the first book in The Hawke Family Second Generation Series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is a contemporary romance story that is full of tension and angst, secrets and lies, fear and danger and so much more. I love the characters in the first series and now the second generation are taking over and are just as loveable and sexy. He is a man who will do anything to protect his family and what they have built. When his past turns up he is in shock at what he finds. But danger is nipping at their heels. Can he keep it all safe without losing a thing? I can’t wait for more.

K.G. has never written a story that I have not fell in love with and Shameless Love book 2 in the The Bennetts of Langston Falls is another one on the list. It is a standalone book that is sexy and steamy and full of tension and angst. K.G. is one of my must read authors which shows the strength of her writing skills because I am a fussy reader. Langston Falls is a beautiful small-town tale and feels like the kind of place you would want to go and never return from. He never meant for it to happen. He doesn’t do relationships. Until her. She loves the city and he loves the country. She loves the fast life and he likes it slow. They will never work. Right? Well you will have to read it to find out. I look forward to the next Bennett story.

An impatient little piggy cannot wait to go to pirate school like her big siblings. She eventually learns that good things come to those who wait. My 7 year old enjoyed reading this book out loud in her best pirate voice and was exposed to different words she does not encounter much to test out her skills of sounding things out.

I honestly just absolutely adore this author. She creates the most amazing stories and characters and picking up one of her books is always a pleasure. I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next, Walt’s story. and as I expected it didn’t disappoint at all. Walt and Elyse were such amazing characters and the chemistry between them was on fire! I really liked Elyse, she was such a string independent character and so genuine as well. Walt was a little grumpy but I think that definitely made him even more desirable especially once we finally got to know the real Walt! I loved the two of them together, they were just so perfect in my opinion. Another wonderful read from this author, it is the second book in this series but could be read as a standalone however I would recommend reading in order as they are both amazing reads!

Aubrianne is a fighter, and she is determined to not allow Lord Roger to break her. Along with a small group of servants, who have become her closest friends, they set out to find out why Lord Roger is frequently gone for weeks at a time. They suspect treachery and want to stop it before they become implicated in his treacherous acts.
Unbeknownst to them Lord Roger is being investigated by the Royal Guard of Aurelia. Larkin, a member of the Royal Guard, met Aubrianne by chance years earlier and has not been able to stop thinking about her. He is eager to set out on new adventures and investigate the dealings of Lord Roger and see Aubrianne again. However, if she is implicated in Lord Roger’s treacherous acts she will be faced with the same punishment as Lord Roger. Death will the punishment for all those involved.
This book was beautifully written, and it was easy to become immersed in the story as it unfolded. You could feel yourself being swept back in time and see yourself in each scene. You could feel yourself bounce along on the back of the horse and hear the clip clopping of the horse’s hooves as they traveled along on the roads through ancient forests. You could feel the pain Lord Roger inflicted on Aubrianne and doled out to his servants. The characters, whether you loved them or hated them, were wonderful. Aubrianne is a woman to be admired for her strength and courage to get through the horrific abuse that she endured. Lord Roger is a cruel, cold, and heartless man that deserved to receive the same treatment that he dished out so easily to others. Larkin was kind, sweet, and patient and easy to find yourself drawn to. Wild Lavender is a historical romance that is packed full of action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, murder, and romance. A must read!

I finished this book in about 2 hours and it was perfect! Not too in depth not too vague. I loved the story line and all the characters. Can’t wait to read the others in the trilogy!

I’m so excited that this series has a Second Generation Series. The Hawke Series was one of my favorites. Especially the book about Stone. Which should tell you how excited I am that Ruthless Hawke is about none other than Stone’s son Issac. This author pulls you in, in so many ways it’s easy to get hooked. If this is the first time you’re stumbling across this series, you can definitely start with the Second Generation Series, you won’t be missing much. However if you want to understand the family as a whole better, you definitely want to go back and read the original Hawke Series. It’s also worth it to read. Issac is continuing what his father started with the family law firm. Fighting for what’s right, but also for his family as well. Family is everything for the Hawkes blood relation or not.(It could be why I’m drawn to these books. I’ve never had a close family like this.) But family is exactly what turns his world upside down. He’s readying for the fight of his life, and his family has shown him the way. Again I can’t even explain how much this series and world are an escape for me, that I love. It has everything. It’s sad, happy, funny, loving, ect. It’s so worth it and you will absolute not be disappointed!

The 45th Parallel is the sixth book in the Antipodes series. I would highly recommend starting at the first book in the series (Antipodes) and reading in order to get to know the large cast of characters and vast setting that has built up by this point in the series. The Antipodes series is post-apocalyptic, set after a virus has made most of the surface of the planet uninhabitable. The protagonists of this book, Caitlin and Seraphine, are part of the next generation after the disaster who were created to be immune, and therefore more able to survive on the surface of the planet. It is expected that they will both have children, passing on their immunity to the next generation. But neither of them is keen to settle down, they are easily bored and always in search of their next adventure. This is a fun continuation of the series! It’s good seeing the next generation of characters coming of age, with the older characters who were the focus of earlier books now viewed from a different angle. Cait and Sera are enjoyable characters – young and dissatisfied with the world they’re inheriting, but also caring for others and trying to make a positive impact. This book gets five stars from me. I’d definitely recommend this series to fans of post-apocalyptic sci-fi!

The storyline is about an introvert living in an extroverted world, and the main character, thirty eight year old Emily Parker still feels as awkward and anxious as she did at eighteen. However, as a young adult other people accepted this, and even reassured her that it was an expected part of growing up, and things would improve. For Emily though her insecurities have only gotten worse, and she now feels she has to hide her feelings and put on a fake smile for everyone. She has gotten used to making excuses and avoiding situations, but when this doesn’t work she then spends more time trying not to make a fool of herself, that she never actually enjoys herself. Emily is now familiar with her ‘inner critic’, the ever present and getting louder voice telling her she doesn’t fit in, and making her worry way too much. The author writes so honestly and sensitively about real issues that many women feel, that reading this book makes you feel like your not alone. It definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster, but it was worth it for the uplifting message that comes across in the skilful writing.

I really enjoyed this second installment of The Bennetts series. The chemistry between Walt and Elyse was very good. I enjoyed his character and appreciated how he interacted with his sister. I loved the grump but secretly a teddy bear angle for Walt’s character. I think that is a relatable trait for many men. I can relate to that. It was a quick, enjoyable read and look forward to the next installment.

This book is amazing!! I love a good rock star genre book and this one did not disappoint. This book is really well written and it almost make you feel as if you are part of the stage crew. You will feel like a fly on the wall during some of the dialogue with the main characters. What could happen when the leading female is invited to open for the leading male character? The characters deal with real life issues and they lean on each other to overcome traumatic events that have happened in the past. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming in this book. That in mind it does have some steam but it also has a great story line that you will feel yourself getting worked up and emotional when they characters get emotional. This happens to be the 4th book in the series but each can be read as a stand alone. I have not read the others in this series but if they are written the way this one is, I will be reading them shortly. I love series that follow the characters and you get glimpses of the other characters in each book. It makes it feel like I am becoming friends with the characters. This book kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen, was the last going to destroy what neither of the characters had saw coming which is falling in love. Does the leading female run when things get tough and the leading man get his heart broken or do they work together to figure things out. You will have to read this book to figure it out. This trilogy combines Coyote’s Road Trip, Raven Woman’s Tavern and A Mountain In the Air. I had previously read Coyote’s Road Trip and have been thoroughly impressed. At first I wasn’t as excited to read Raven Woman’s Tavern, but just like the first book in the trilogy I was quickly sucked in. A Mountain In The Air beautifully ties all the stories together and gives the series a sense of completion, with no questions being left in answered. Laura Koerber is an amazing writing, her ability to create a realistic magic and make this dystopian story feel like a premonition is unreal. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and can not wait to see what else she comes up with.

This is the 4th book in the Balefire series and focuses on the last single member of the band Adam Tron and Cristy. This is a great read. I love the characters. They are both confident and playful characters on the surface but they both have secrets in their pasts which could make their HEA hard to reach. The author does a great job of creating the rock star world around them. The attraction between Adam and Cristy is instant and I love how they love to tease each other and how that teasing behaviour progresses into something deeper and meaningful.
Adam and the Balefire band are out on tour again. Their ready to rock every arena they perform in with the help of the lasted pop sensation Cristy. What Adam doesn’t expect is for Cristy to be the woman that rocks him to his core. Could the final member of the band finally find a woman wilder than him to tame him? He really wants her but he feels she is holding something back from him and he’s determined to find out what it is so they can be together.
Cristy’s career is going great so when she is offered the chance to perform alongside the biggest rock group she jumps at it. The fact that she is attracted to the bass player also helps. As they work together the feelings between them intensify and what she believed would be a fling while they are on tour turns into something more meaningful. But she has a problem. There is a part of her life she has kept secret from everyone and she wants to keep it that way. Will she be able to keep this secret from Adam? What’s the consequences if she does? Can they ever really get their HEA if there are secrets between them?
