What an intriguing and powerful story this is. I felt the emotions immediately and really felt like I connected with the main character. Her journey is heart breaking and yet you could feel a strength from her that I hadn’t expected. This book really catches your attention. It is suspenseful, intriguing and has so many twists and turns that I honestly didn’t know how it was all going to turn out. As a new author to me I think this book does a great job at showcasing her skill and piquing my interest enough to want to read more. This is a fantastic story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This was a lovely historical romance which also contained some time travel. It was nice to see how the time travel was incorporated into the storyline adding beauty to the relationship between the characters rather than seeming out of place.
As the book progressed, I became increasingly engrossed in Erin and Alrick’s relationship, and feared for their safety in the dangers they faced in WW2 era occupied France. The historical elements were well-written and reflected the dangers faced by those living at the time.
Whilst I was expecting a twist, I was not prepared for the reveal of the real twist, and I kick myself, now looking back, for overlooking the well-placed clues.
I loved the ending and how there were clear links to previous parts of the story, which is what I had hoped for. There are elements which may appear to be unanswered questions; however, this adds to how well the piece was written. These ‘gaps’ fit perfectly into the story and make it more realistic not knowing what happened to certain characters given that even now there are people whose fate are not known from the war. On this point I share a similar view to Erin – it allows me to imagine a happily ever after for them.
I thought the description and use of music in this book was a unique element and as Erin’s compositions were described I could imagine bits and pieces of how the music may sound or make me feel. Music is incredibly powerful, and I have not often come across writing, which is able to portray this effectively, but in this, I was able to feel what Erin felt as she played and hear how her pieces may have sounded.
An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Lisa, Mindy, Ruby, and Tina gather once a month for a ‘Rom Com Movie Club’ night, and I loved each of these likeable and relatable characters, and their friendship really came across in the narrative. Lisa didn’t have a stable home growing up and her friends have become her family, but she still didn’t really know what a happily ever after looked liked, only in the films they watched. Although Lisa is used to having obstacles thrown at her, she never imagined that by finding the man of her dreams, it would cause a rift with her best friend. Meanwhile Ryan had returned home to live with his parents whilst looking for his next opportunity. However, he never expected that following his brother, and joining in with his future sister in laws girly ‘Rom Com Movie Club’ night, that he would fall head over heels for Lisa. Although it’s not the best timing for falling in love with her best friend’s soon to be brother in law, just before the wedding, Lisa is surprised when her friend assumes that Lisa is out to ruin her wedding. Having fallen in love with a man who loves her back, Lisa must choose between her fairy tale ending, or her friend who has always been there whenever needed. This was a heartwarming and sweet romance, and I loved the chemistry between Lisa and Ryan. However, it was also a story about friendship, and I loved the banter and the dynamic between the four girls. I look forward to the other’s getting their own stories and hopefully HEA’s in the rest of the series!

This book contains three major characters whose stories lead them to the Mansfield Supper Club. It details the decisions and life’s twists and turns that brings them to the Supper Club. Each one is there for different reasons and I have to say I found this book impossible to put down. Their stories collide in one eventful night. This book is definitely one where it is hard to say any more about it because it is so good that I want to allow everyone to experience its magic for themselves. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book! I cannot recommend that you read this enough.

I really love Christmas Anthologies! It reminds me of my childhood when my aunts and grandma would swap Christmas books and share the magic of Christmas. This anthology was well done. The stories flowed very nicely together and none of them felt out of place. Merry Mix-Ups was my favorite in the collection. If you are into the spirit of Christmas- add this to your list!

This was a new author for me, and I must say I was very much pulled in all the way through with this book, and the story. I was left stunned often and wanted more as I read! It was easy to be immersed!
A great thrill of a mystery! I was immersed and intrigued all the way, I loved how 3 different stories, became one with this mystery that was a foot. Every bit of info proved to be crucial to the story. You could take anything for granted. So much can happen in one night and this book proves that. I loved the writing style, and how the story flowed and came together. I loved the characters and how they changed as things went on. The author weaved together a story of interest and intrigue! Great read! Loved it!
This was such a fantastic and rare gem. Could not get enough of it by any means! I definitely recommend this must read book as well as author! A read that shouldn’t be passed up by any means!

This was a quick read and enjoyable. I enjoyed the dynamic of the characters together and their connection. I really liked Austin’s character and could feel his pain. There are lots of relatable elements in this book like heartache, love and connection. I would read more by this author for sure!

Very relatable book, but takes it to another extreme level. Rage is about a woman who has been through a lot lately and can’t seem to figure out why she is so mad and why she is pushing away everyone who loves her. But when a mysterious man comes into her life that understands the new woman she has become, will she ever go back? Or is this just the new her? This book is interesting, filled with romance, and very enticing. Read it if you like strong emotions, some action, and being kept on the edge of your seat.

I absolutely love all of Amy McKinley’s books that she has written. But to read this prequel to her Mafia Elite series, is even better, or icing on the cake!
I love seeing where their story begins, where the mafia “princesses” started out. I found it sad reading from their point of view on how protective and strict their fathers are. I understand the reasoning behind them being strict, but to have no control over their daily lives was heartbreaking for me.
But that is Amy McKinley for you, always pulling at your heart strings!
In this story, Lilianna, Sofia, Emiliana, and Marissa get their first taste of freedom, which is so exciting for the reader and the characters in this story! Having freedom has a cost though. The cost for these girls is not wanting to give up their freedom that they so desperately wanted. The real question is, what will they all do to keep their freedom? Defy their family? Or back down to their strong-willed fathers, and go back to playing the “perfect princess”.
I have actually read a couple of the stories in this series already, so the prequel gave me a new point of view for each character. Since I now read the prequel, I think I am going back to re-read the series. This prequel was absolutely amazing and I was so glad I read it. I have new insight to the way each character thinks and where they come from, and what they had to go through.

Lois Wickstrom has a wonderful knack for creating stories that jump off the pages of the book to transport readers into the world she has created. Dream-Shifter by Lois Wickstrom is a wonderful fantasy book that takes the reader on a journey with Gwendolyn and her parents as they navigate life with her ability to shift into animals when she dreams. Unfortunately, there is always the possibility of becoming stuck as an animal if she is woken suddenly for example by a loud sound. Gwen is tragically stuck as an elk a few weeks before the elk hunting season begins. She has many things that she was looking forward to as a human- an article she was supposed to write for her journalism class, a race she wanted to compete in, and her biggest dream a summer journalism camp. How will she do any of it if she is an elk?
Gwen and her parents are told about the Birthday Party Magician, Taran who might be able to help her, but when he tries to it does not work. According to Taran, she only has until November 25th to become human again. Lois takes the reader through Gwen’s quest to become human again with many twists and turns. Find out if Gwendolyn must spend the rest of her days as an elk by reading Dream-Shifter. This is one adventure you will not regret!

Lois Wickstrom crafted a unique story about adoption and the anger children may face in its wake. While the children might be mad about other situations, this book could help them open up and talk to their parents about what is bothering them. Many children wonder about their birth family- what they are doing, why they had to be given up if they have siblings, and many more questions. Oliver ventures into what his life would be like if he was with his birth parents, but is reminded why he was adopted. This book would be a great way to speak to a child or children about what they are going through.

Before they married Mafia bosses, they were in college. This novella gives the reader a peak into a short time of their senior year. Opinion I did not like this book as much as the others in the series. It focused mainly on the women and there was little romance in it. It did however give insight into what happened that fateful day while they were in college.

Road to the Mansfield (Express Investigations Book 1) by CB Laurence. This is a great mystery suspense read. Its the story of the Express Investigations Detective Agency. 3 people in different times and places end up converging together due to life’s circumstances. Rose Donovan is swept off her feet by a man and ends up leaving with him against the advice of several people. He ends up moving her to California and selling her singing to the Mansfield Hotel. Francie Roubideaux is handed a hard life and ends up at a House of Pleasure but her singing saves her from worse things. She eventually finds her way to the Mansfield Hotel singing. Beau Hartwell is a up and coming attorney that seems to have it all but when he loses everything he finds himself in California with his friend at the Express Investigations Detective Agency and they all three come together during a crazy night. This read will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Borrowed Time by Lane Cohen provided an exciting, imaginative, and new spin on the concept of time travel. This book provided multiple explorations and adventures that brought so many emotions to the reader. It will keep you entertained and maintains the readers focus because it makes the reader want to keep going for the next scene. The different elements of writing found in this book made it a phenomenal, epic piece.

Wow! Utterly Delightful! This book is one of those that shocked and surprised me at how amazingly good it is! I was intrigued by the blurb but the cover did not call to me. I took a chance and am very pleased I did.
The story is very well written and reads very smoothly. It just rolled along easily because it is just that good! The humor/fun is mixed in perfectly with the storyline. The characters are measureless! The sprites, trolls and elves among others are explored well. I enjoyed learning about them and following along with Evan as he traverses the new land.
This is written for teens and I feel they would throughly enjoy the fantasy filled story. This is a first time author for me and since I loved it I will be looking for more along this line from him.

Gwendolyn is a standard pre teen faced with an issue of being stuck as an Elk. The book is based on her experiences as an Elk. Trying to navigate her world without hands thus she needs more help from the people around her. I found it funny that it wasn’t taboo that she was a dream-shifter, usually this is the standard case with most magic. Instead she must convince those around her that she is in fact Gwendolyn. Other people’s acceptance of her being in an elk body are all different. She is hilarious and outgoing trying accomplish getting into journalism camp. There was one part I didn’t like towards the end since it came out the blue and didn’t think that it was needed. I don’t want to spoil the story so I’ll leave it at that. I thought overall the story is a fun coming of age story and having to live with body changes.

To say that this was a fantastic read is an understatement! I was definitely excited for the next book! Order of Vespers was a hard book to put down once you start. Matilda Reyes has a knack for excellent character development and growth of the plot line throughout the book.
This book is the story of Jasper and her journey to discover more about herself and her newfound power. A small-town girl from Upstate New York is about to have her world turned upside down with the discovery of new, uncontrollable powers! When something big happens in her small town and causes an uproar and she is found at the center of it, and it sets off a whole series of events. When the news begins to travel, there are those who want to hurt Jasper, and then there are those who do not threaten her life.
This book shows how a little determination, and some major tragedy can be used to make the world alternating changes. This book shows how feelings are a big deal and can cause changes that can greatly affect someone. In Order of Vespers, you get to see how someone who is used to hiding finds out that there are powers that can become something shocking. This book shows the importance that something big can come from girl from a small town, and the impact it can have on the world. How does someone trust group full of assassins? I love you today. I love this story and this series. The blurb says it can be read as a standalone but I don’t think so. If you don’t read book one you will not understand Austin’s heartbreak. I can tell you his heart is broken but you feel it starting in book one. In this book, book 2, we get to see Austin’s heart break heal as he leans on Casey and learns about the difference in his past, his present and his possible future. Casey is introduced in book one as well. She’s Mavis’ best friend. Casey thinks Mavis choose the wrong brother. But at the same time Casey is glad she’s the one that gets to play ball with Austin. Casey is our main girl in this story. Her character in life is a back seat kind of person. Yes, she is living her life, working, trying to go to school, trying to be happy, trying to be better than her upbringing. Casey lives life but not in a crazy obnoxious way. She’s just wild enough to catch Austin’s eye and even his heart!
I really liked this story. The characters are down to earth and real. The writing keeps me engaged and turning those pages.
Book 3 teaser: Austin and Josh’s sister Lauren gets her turn and her story looks like it may be the story with the most needed tissues. Looking forward to reading it.

Umm wow! What a steamy story between Katarina and Preston!! Katarina had absolutely no idea what she was getting into when she meets a hot guy sat the beginning of a work trip. The action takes off almost as soon as she finds out who Preston is and will keep you guessing throughout the book. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This was a really relatable and emotional story. The fact that the main character Carina is so relatable is what makes this story such an emotional read. Its like reading about parts of myself in this book. It deal with difficult subjects such as grief, loss of family around covid time, dealing with the illness yourself and also the realisation that life just isn’t how it used to be.
Carina has gone through a lot in the last year. From losing several family members during the pandemic to almost becoming a victim of it herself. When she recovers all she wants is a big family Christmas, however all her kids are gown and have their own lives and her husband is too busy working. Feeling very lost and alone she starts to question herself. After so many years of caring for others what does she do now she’s no longer needed. When she is offered the chance to stay at a friend’s cabin for a guaranteed white Christmas is she brave enough to go alone, to do something that she wants just for her? And what happens if she does that that leap of faith? Will she find her purpose in life and in the process find herself again? Or will she be to worried and scared to put herself first. It is an emotional story which I can relate to on all different levels. I’ve never felt more connected to a character because as a wife and mother the thoughts and feelings she goes through I have had myself. It is a beautifully written story that deals with a subject not many people discuss.

Teddy is just being release from prison, but will he be able to live life again. Once arriving on his families farm he is shocked at the changes that have happened over the six years he has been imprisoned.
Robyn was en-route for college and then law school until one fateful night when all there worlds were turn around, her boyfriend sent to prison for something he never did and with that injustice she lost all fight of becoming a lawyer, but seeing him again has evoked the feelings that never really went away.
Can they rekindle the lost love and can Teddy be released from the guilt of ruining his family and his life because of one stupid mistake.
OMG, get your tissues at the ready. I love this author and her style of writing and this was a brilliant, emotional story from start to finish. I so felt sorry for Teddy and the emotional upheaval one mistake can take and also the gracious guy who did not blame anyone for the huge mistake that occurred in his life.
The family dynamic was lovely to read and that his family stood by him and strived to help him integrate in society again. The feelings that this story brought up was heart-breaking and you felt like you were on the journey with Robyn and Teddy throughout the story. I have read many books by this author and this one does not disappoint one bit, I am hoping the next book in the series is James and Sam’s story. I can’t wait to read more.

When I first picked up this book I had no idea it was book 5 in a series (oops!), however, it definitely can be read on its own but needless to say I will be going back to read the others. But Misfortune of Song was such an incredibly well written and captivating story. It’s authors like these that truly inspire me.
As a huge lover of Fae I loved how they were incorporated in this story and can say this story developed at a quick pace. It will be one of those stories you don’t want to end.
I definitely recommend this book and will be going to read the others as well! The heart of this book was so amazing. Can’t wait for more people to get their hands on it! 💛

Devlin is a businessman and a womaniser but there is one woman who has driven him insane from the first meeting five years ago, Eve.
They are brilliant as a team and with there biting banter and flirtations is just that flirting but when Eve suddenly becomes single all bets are off, the only problem there are certain rules within the office and dating a co-worker is right up there.
One night they have two much alcohol and not much sense but will one night be enough.
This book is a standalone story involving the characters of Devlin and Eve, the chemistry between these two-character jumps off the page at you and feeling of forbidden love is always on the cusp of their banter. The story although short offers you an insight into the world of these two people from the frenemy’s aspect of the story to the relationship that develops after the night together.
The story is full of action and with them trying to keep their relationship a secret is fun to read. This is not the first book I have read by this author and certainly won’t be the last.

Diane Barnes’ ‘More Than’ follows Peggy Moriarty, a middle-aged single mother of two twin teenagers. The kids leave for school, she’s left alone, she’s unhappy and unhealthy. She joins a weight-loss boot-camp, which is the last thing she ever wanted to do. The best part about this is that the weight-loss story doesn’t encourage fat phobia or eating disorder behaviours, but encourages healthy living and self-confidence. Peggy not only develops her confidence but grows as a character. I liked the book from the beginning, even though I didn’t like Peggy at first. She starts off quite pretentious, judgemental, rude, and controlling, but the support of her new friends helps her come out of her shell. The story explores complicated feelings around grief as well as mental health and body image issues. The ending is so perfect that I cried. I couldn’t recommend this more.
