License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

Oh my gosh I LOVED this audible! This story is so much fun, I even laughed out loud at many parts (thank goodness I work from home lol). Loved it when Jane referenced Twilight characters and calling Ethan “Edward”. Definitely continuing the series, it is truly a fun listen. The narrator of this book is perfect!

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen . This is my first Audible and I actually enjoyed listening and  Hollie done a wonderful job. I honestly liked listening a lot more than I thought I would. It was a nice change not staring at a screen. I absolutely love this author , I love her style of writing and the fact  she makes me chuckle. Her characters are fun, relatable and fully developed .  Jane and Ethan, she’s the Governors daughter and is used to getting what she wants.  A girls trip to Mardi Gras  finds her in the arms of Ethan  who is a hot as sin Vampire . He gives her the gift of  immortality and super strength.  There’s one tiny issue she doesn’t like the sight of blood and usually faints. I found myself chuckling throughout this story.  These two are funny and whitty. Find out what happens next by grabbing  this and giving it a  listen.  I highly recommend   and look forward to more audible books.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 1 in the series and I listened to this as an audiobook.
I really enjoyed this book, it was light-hearted, full of humour and a little romance.
Jane can’t stand the sight of blood, which becomes a problem when she is turned into a Vampire by Ethan.
Ethan was convinced Jane was his reincarnated fiancee but soon discovers that wasn’t the case, in fact, she’s the complete opposite.
Jane was what I imagine to be a southern belle. With her fathers position in politics, she was able to talk her way through any situation, which seemed to frustrate quiet and reserved Ethan. I loved the chats with her best friend Sophie and the way she handled every situation.
The narration by Hollie Jackson was brilliant, the accents and the delivery really added to the listening and helped immerse me j to the story.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Piper Foster

This is a great, funny story. Jane and her best friend Sophie are in New Orleans. Jane is a blogger and she is there to blog on the Mardi Gras. What she didn’t count on was running into the very sexy and handsome vampire Ethan. Ethan is a vampire, he has a strong reaction when he meets Jane, something that has not happened in a very long time. Thinking she is his late fiancée reincarnated he clams and turns her into a vampire. Jane wasn’t made for this lifestyle. How is she going to adjust will she? It’s a really fun listen as well.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen was a fantastic listen! I just adored Jane Anderson! She made me laugh and refused to be the secondary character. I feel like she was the hero of this story. Ethan was well written and was great to see him come alive as the story continued. I did not see the ending coming and it was just beautiful. I cannot wait to read the next book!

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Three Stars Review

This book took me by surprise. I was expecting a cliché vampire society, a self-absorbed woman, and a ridiculous romance that came to pass in obvious ways. I was surprised by how wonderful this book was. It made me laugh. The narrators accents are hilarious and fit the story perfectly. I love the location of the story, it fits it so well, it feels like this story wouldn’t belong anywhere else. The romance was slow to come, but the passion was present from the beginning. Honestly, the pop culture references made me laugh the hardest. The characters are kind of eccentric, but they end up meshing together well. The best relationships are formed between complete opposite people. And the supernatural element is portrayed from a new point of view with new rules. Very clever.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Dani Dando

Thought this was a pretty amusing tale that pleasantly surprised me. It never really took itself too seriously and had me quite literally guffawing as I listened. At first, I found the narration a little jarring especially with the voices of the male characters, but after a while, I properly got into the story and even that didn’t bother me, I was having too much fun. I mean, to be honest, the whole concept had an amusing genius to it that you just have to applaud, I mean a vampire that faints at the sight of blood? Hehe, it’s just so wonderfully daft that it’s great.

I liked Jane, I thought she was chirpy and chipper and just bursting with character, it did start to annoy me with the whole, I don’t belong to anyone schtick, feel as though the point was drummed home one too many times. It was obvious that she was strong and independent from the way she conducted herself, I really didn’t feel like we needed to be told so many times. I thought that Ethan was an interesting character, he got more entertaining as time went on and mostly then it was because he was bouncing off Jane, getting frustrated at her bubbliness. I also felt more connected to him when his past was revealed a little more.

I will say that you will not be bored with this, it’s ridiculous and unpredictable but that is half the fun. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good chuckle with a bit of spice sprinkled in.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Comedy by Carrie Pulkinen

Narrated by Hollie Jackson

License to Bite just made me laugh and feel good listening to it. Carrie Pulkinen is a relatively new author to me, but from the two books I have listened to she is fast becoming an author of choice for me. Jane is hilarious and Ethan is reserved, but together they are perfect. Sophie and Gaston add in the perfect foil to Jane and Ethan. This story was full of witty dialogue and New Orleans charm. I look forward to listening to the rest of the books in New Orleans Nocturnes series.

This is the first audio I have listen to narrated by Hollie Jackson. Her accent was great and she really hit the laugh factor. I will be keeping my out for other books narrated by her.

Carrie Pulkinen thank you for the belly laughs…… this was a fun, light listen with some really funny scenes.
Hollie Jackson also did a good job with the narration.
The storyline line is really good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish the author gave some more attention to the characters.
Still a real fun listen, especially the humor.

I give Bake Believe by Cori Cooper, 4 stars.

This is such a fun book, perfect for older children/young teens who like the magical side of things. The characters are fun, the story is interesting without being too dark, and it gives of an overall whimsical vibe. Cat is very superficial in the beginning of the book, but she grows immensely as the book goes on. The concept of this book is so original, that makes it even more interesting. The author is so good at weaving a tale that makes you yearn for more. While it is aimed at a younger generation, it really is enjoyable for all ages. I have not been a young teen in a very long time, yet I could not put this book down.

If you or your child like a light-hearted, magical story, I highly recommended this book.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This was yet another great novel by the author. I loved the comedic tone of the book, with Jane Devereux’s numerous problems and how she handles them. How the author was able to combine Christmas and vampires was quite amusing as well. Who would have thought, Santa as a vampire, but it worked. If you are looking for a quick, humorous, holiday read, I would highly recommend this book as well as others in the series.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. These can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading at least book 1 before delving into this book. This is a delightfully fun quick read. This entire series is light, paranormal reading set in the perfect setting of New Orleans. I really have enjoyed Jane in the past but this gave a new insight into her and her marriage to Ethan. Also, one would ask how Santa Claus could fit into the story, but seriously you need to read this to find out. This is full of laughs and great characters. A definite getaway from this cruddy year. I look forward to more in this series and from this author in the future.

This author has such a great way of creating a gripping book with such strong characters. I have yet to read one of her stories that I didn’t enjoy. Are you ready for a laugh riot? Looking for something to tickle your funny bone? Want to escape into a world filled with fun characters and humor galore? Then you need to pick up this fantastic book by Carrie Pulkinen! Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th installment in the New Orleans Nocturne book series and Ms. Pulkinen keeps the fabulousness going with this latest read. Now, mind you, this is a stand-alone book. But I’ve said it before, do yourself a HUGE favor and pick up this series. You’ll want to get to know all of these wonderful characters and their stories.

Now, this latest book is about Jane Devereux (from License to Bite) and her antics adjusting to her new life. Jane is adjusting to her life fabulously until a small encounter with Father Christmas. Now with only 3 days to teach Santa the ways of the Vampire and get him back to the North Pole in time, things are a bit tense. Oh! And did I forget to mention Jane’s dad, the governor of Texas is coming for a visit to see her? Talk about a stressful Christmas! Follow Jane, her hubs-hottie Ethan, and their nocturnal friend Gaston as they try to get through this holiday!

With witty banter, great chemistry between the main characters, and a fun-loving story, Ms. Pulkinen hits a trifecta with her latest book. I loved being able to see each of the characters again and learning what they’ve been up to in their lives. Add in the fun town of New Orleans and great sub-characters, you can’t help but fall in love with this book. If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday read (you know, like a Hallmark Christmas movie type story with tons of laughs), then pick this beauty up.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. I have read them all and love them. They are quick reads that are hilarious. I don’t normally read supernatural books, but these are great. They are not dark, but instead light humored, about a group of friends, which include vampires, werewolves, witches and more. This book centers around Jane Devereux, so I recommend at least reading her book- License to Bite- to get the full background. This book is a short story, that you wont want to put down. It is fast paced and funny. Telling the story of how Jane runs over Santa, and in order to save his life, and Christmas, she must turn him into a vampire. Not your average Christmas story, but worth reading.

This is a hilarious addition to this series. It’s definitely not your typical Christmas story but it’ll become a classic. Who would’ve thought Santa could get run over by a vampire but when Jane Devereaux is involved, anything is possible. Finally allowed to drive Genevieve, Jane not only gets into an accident but she nearly kills Santa. The only way to save his life is to turn him into a vampire. Christmas is around the corner and she has three days to teach him how to be a good vampire or all is lost. She absolutely doesn’t want to be known as the one who not only destroyed the holidays but killed Jolly Old St. Nick as well.

This is a quick, funny read. Definitely one you’ll enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, lighthearted paranormal romance with a festive twist, which put me in the Christmas spirit. As I have read the previous books in the ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series, I was already familiar with the main characters, Jane and Ethan from book one ‘License to Bite’. However, each book in the series is a standalone story although the characters do crossover. In this quick holiday story, Jane Devereux is adjusting well to her new life as a nocturne. She is married to the hottest vampire in New Orleans, Ethan, and is running a popular nightclub in the French Quarter. When she accidentally runs Santa Claus over the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Jane then has three days to teach Santa how to be a vampire and then get him back to the North Pole for Christmas Eve. To complicate her life further, Jane’s father is visiting her for Christmas and she has not told him that she’s married or that she’s a vampire. It was fun being back with the “vamps of New Orleans Nocturnes” and I enjoyed catching up with Jane and Ethan as they are great characters. The storyline flows well, making this an enjoyable and easy read whilst the narrative brings the characters to life. The story has some laugh out loud moments and it’s a real page turner of a novel. I found this romantic comedy with a paranormal twist an exciting and engaging read. I look forward to future books in the series.

I have read a few books from this author and she keeps on surprising me. I love paranormal books but this series has me addicted. This is the fourth book to the awesome series called The New Orleans Nocturnes. You can read this book as a stand alone but some previous characters are in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put it down. This is a fun Christmas book that will make you laugh out loud. I can’t wait to see what this author will write about next.

Jane Devereux is getting used to her new undead life. She is now an owner to a hot night club and she is married to the hottest vampire ever. Jane goes for a ride in an awesome car and she ends up hitting someone. She hits Santa and she has to turn him into a vampire to save his life. Jane now has only three days to get the new Santa ready for Christmas and she has no idea what to do. To make matters worse she also has her father coming over this year and he has no idea that she’s married and is a vampire. Will Jane be able to save Christmas or will it all blow up in her face?

Jane Devereaux is finally getting her chance to drive Gaston’s baby around New Orleans and is relishing in this until she runs someone over, as she starts to panic and get Gaston to call for an ambulance, she learns that it isn’t just any old person she has run over and nearly killed, it is Santa, THE SANTA, he actually exists and not only that and now Jane has to make a choice, she has to turn him into a vampire, or destroy Christmas, not much of a choice really. After the deed is done and Santa has been turned, Jane and Gaston load Santa into his car and after some shock and amazement, she gets to ride Santa’s reindeer Blitzen home, this is something she will never forget.

The next day, she has to go and see the Magistrate of their coven and register her new fledgeling and start to deal with the consequences of her actions, this includes the explanation of why she had to sire him in the first place, but first she has to break the news to Santa that he is now a vampire and everything that goes with it, however, Santa seems a little off and won’t stop singing his versions of Christmas songs and asking constantly for sugary things to crave his thirst. After Santa’s registration they take Santa out for his first feed and to get his official license, but something is still off, this is where they all have to break the news to Mrs Claus, as well as this, she has the added bonus of her dad coming to visit for Christmas and she is going to have to break the news that she is a vampire, but more that that, is that she is also married and prepare herself to see her dad and face his reactions to her news! Jane only has three days to fix Santa and save Christmas, but can she do it in time, or at all?

This story is a christmas themed romp through New Orleans where mistakes are made and curveballs are thrown around like snowballs in a snowball fight and a read which will keep you reading until the end.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen did not disappoint. Sometimes I laugh out loud.
