Deception by Victoria Saccenti

This is the first book I’ve read by the author, but it won’t be my last. Warning now if you don’t like BDSM then this won’t be a book for you.

Hunter is a girl who turns everyone away. She’s the type who doesn’t want to let a guy in. Known as a heartbreaker and homewrecker she likes life that way. Until Joe Reid enters her life. The quote I choose for Hunter is: “I thought I was losing my mind. See, he calls to me, and more bewildering is the sensation of healing I get from him.”

Joe, a former Marine, comes home for good. Losing a buddy of his started something that changes his life. Hunter wasn’t supposed to change his life but she did. For the better it seems. The quote I choose for Joe is: “Damn, girl. You flirt, you’ll find me and a hell of a lot more.”

This book was an amazing page turner and I will be keeping my eye out for more. Hunter and Joe are so realistic I thought it was a movie. I do highly recommend this for anyone who likes to think outside the box.

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash #3) by Amanda Marin

The third and final book in the Crimson Sash Series by Amanda Marin. Out of the three books this is by far my favorite. We get to see an ending to Neve and Micah’s story. I honestly didn’t want it to end.

Neve has come to terms that she may never be free from the Nation. Things get worse before they get better. When others from the Nation show up they aren’t exactly kind. The quote I choose for Neve is: “Blythe’s out of surgery. She made it. She’s still unconscious, but she’s all right for now.”

Micah is finally with his parents, but things aren’t as good as they should be. They’re far from a family, but that changes soon. Micah learns the truth about his father. He helps with a plan he shouldn’t be involved in. The quote I choose for Micah is: “Not Joah … he should’ve left Joah alone …”

This is by far the best book in the series. Amanda has an amazing talent for writing. This will not be the only series I read by her. I do highly recommend this book and tissues. Don’t forget the tissues.

Sea to Sky (Crimson Sash #2) by Amanda Marin

As the second book of the Crimson Sash Series by the lovely Mrs. Marin she’s outdone herself. This follows Neve and Micah on the journey. Being to a new country will do things to you. Follow them on the journey of loss, tragedy, and love.

Neve has come to accept that things are different. What she doesn’t realize is that her and Micah are different as well. She helps Micah come to terms with something that has happened. The quote I choose for Neve is: “All right—I stand corrected. It’s going to be your best yet, I think.”

Micah is hurt and not just physically. Things seem to be getting worse, but Neve is there. Things don’t always last, but they always get better in the end. The quote I choose for Micah is: “You shouldn’t have to take care of me …I wish you could go back to Bristol, with your comfortable life and your family, but you can’t, and it’s my fault. Every day I hate myself for having asked you to lie to Isla that day we met. You gave up everything for me, and I’m not worth it. If I’d known …I’d take it all back to spare you this pain. I wouldn’t make you suffer with me.”

If you’ve read North to Nara then this is the book for you. I do highly recommend this book for anyone.

North to Nara (Crimson Sash #1) by Amanda Marin

This is the first book I’ve read by the author and it will not be my last. North to Nara is such an amazing read. As the first book in the Crimson Sash Series it’s an amazing introduction to the characters.

Neve, a sieve, falls head first for a Sufferer. Little does she know things are going to change. For the first time ever she’s going to break the rules. The quote I choose for Neve is: “You wouldn’t be the same person if you’d been made a Soldier. I like this Micah Ward, not whoever you wish you became to make someone else happy.”

Micah, a Sufferer, is the only son to the Wards. When he finds out who he’s Suffering for things change. He finds himself trying to keep everything a secret. The quote I choose for Micah is: “What they don’t tell people is that Suffering isn’t all sacrifice. Our pain and loss makes us stronger, too—it makes us care more deeply and appreciate simple happiness better than anyone.”

I do highly recommend this for anyone who likes a good love story.

Blue Magnolia (Red Farlow Mysteries #2) by W.F. Ranew

This is the first read by W.F., but it will not be the last. Blue Magnolia is the second book in the Red Farlow Mysteries Series and I’ve got to say what a wonderful job.

P.I. Red Farlow, is not your ordinary PI. He’s a mysterious character and it made me fall in love. Red’s new client, Hank, has found himself in trouble. Can Red help?

Red is hired by Hank’s cousin, who worries about him constantly. Red helps because that’s just who he is. Will he regret it later? The quote I choose for Red is: “I know your brother, James, too. You were about twelve the last time we met. How is everyone doing?”

This is a highly recommended book for mystery lovers. Danger, Country Music, and mystery all wrapped into one. I can’t wait for the next read!

Trey: European Redemption (Russian Mob Chronicles Book 7) by Shandi Boyes

This is part of the Russian Mob Chronicles, but can be read as a stand alone. This is my first read by the author, but it will not be my last. Mrs. Boyes knows how to write a darn good book.

Trey, a Russian Mob member, soon learns that the past doesn’t always stay where it should. He learns that his life is going to change, but not much. The quote I choose for Trey is: “What aren’t you telling me, Dok?”

Kristina, K or Duchess, as Trey calls her. She’s held captive by someone who wants to draw Trey out. Little does she know Trey is going to change everything she’s ever known. She is sucked away from her life, but is brought back. The quote I choose for K is: “Yes, I recognize him.”

This is a book I highly recommend. It’s for anyone who loves a good story involving mobs and love. This will not be the last book I read by this author.

Benito is from Mexico and now lives in Arizona. He meets Sarah and things are great. A friend calls upon him when she is in need of help. The quote I choose for Benito is: “My mother keeps warm by putting something across her lap.”

Rebecca Steele Finding The Dream (Rebecca Steele Series #2) by Joanne Patterson

This is the first book I’ve read by Patterson. As the second book in the Rebecca Steele Series it continues to follow the main character on her journey. This is a page turner and will get you hooked.

Rebecca, aka Becky, is a country singer. She keeps a friend at arms length, but things start to bring them closer. An accident causes her to lose her memories of her past. What happens when the past shows up? The quote I choose for Becky is: Let’s take Cassidy shopping and get her some new clothes to wear to the rodeo. Would she like to shop with us?”

Adam, aka Chance, is a rodeo performer. He’s been smitten with Becky since he came to town. He didn’t realize that four years later would bring them together. Can he handle Becky’s past? Can she handle his past? The quote I choose for Chance is: “You are one in a million, Becky Steele and I love you.”

Shattered: A Logan McKenna Mystery #1 (The Logan McKenna Series) By Valerie Davisson

This is the first book I’ve read by Mrs. Davisson. She did a wonderful job putting the book together. The characters are so life-like. It was like a movie playing in my mind.

Logan McKenna is a wonderful character and I’m glad I got to meet her. Her husband passed away, her daughter is off on an adventure, and she just bought a home. Things are looking up until one bad day.

Logan finds that someone has died and she takes it into her own hands to clear a friend’s name. Things don’t make sense and it confuses her to no end. What happens when the person who killed Elizabeth comes to Logan’s? The quote I choose for Logan is: “So, why did Thomas give Elizabeth $ 8,000? Had she found out about all this somehow?”

I highly recommend this book. It’s got mystery and a splash of romance. Valerie has done one fantastic job. I can’t wait for the next book.

Her Blackened Soul (The Blackened Series #1) by Isra Sravenheart

This is the first book that I’ve read by Isra. This was a wonderful read. This fantasy had me in the world of Lady Isra. This is the first book in The Blackened Series.

Isra, a dark witch, is learning more of her powers. She shields herself from the humans eyes so she can move about. She no longer believes in love. The quote I choose for Isra is: “No, I will not stop. I will not give my magic up. I will not surrender any power, no matter what ! But on a more humorous note, I am much better than what I used to be. I have control; I can do what I want. Like you said, you never asked for this job, so go back to your army of golden messengers and leave me be.”

Kane, a human, can see through the shield. He knows he shouldn’t seek her out, but he does. When he learns she’s not going to help him with what he wants; he knows he’s in for it. The quote I choose for Kane is: If I survive this, by God I will change my ways. I will be a better man. I will be the warrior my father wants me to be. I will be good. I will do good. But only if she doesn’t kill me first.

I highly recommend this for anyone who loves Fantasy. This will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

This is the first book I’ve read by Ledwith and I’ve got to say be ready for tissues. Ledwith knows how to capture your attention from the first line and let’s you go at the end.

This story follows Sarah Tarbell through her abduction and that of her brothers. They travel long and far to be brought to another territory. What will happen to the three of them?

Sarah tells her story through Ledwith and it’s very captivating. Sarah recalls what happens to her and it’s an emotional ride. She doesn’t think her God talks anymore, but she learns soon that she can do it on her own. The quote I choose for Sarah is: “I must go from here as I came here. I will not love another man, ever, mark my words. If ever you find you want me, just call out my name and I will answer you.”

I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good book. A very emotional ride, but one you’ll appreciate. The things you learn and read is hard to accept when it’s never happened to you.

One Hot Texas Summer (A Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Romance #1) by Nicole Flockton

This is the first book in A Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Romance Series and I loved it. Nicole has a way of bringing these boys to life. I was transferred into the book.

Kelly Turner, running from love, finds it at herself. She is shying away from love, but wants it. She finds herself thinking of someone she shouldn’t be. What happens when they have to work together? The quote I choose for Kelly is: “When you lashed out you hurt me a lot, Tate. I didn’t want to be around you. Again the person I cared for treated me like a worthless possession. Like I didn’t deserve to be an important part of their life. Help you through dealing with whatever happened with your dad.”

Tate Prentice, the youngest of Prentice boys, is known as a playboy. He’s done a lot of growing up since the accident, but doesn’t let anyone know. When he finds himself having to work with Kelly Turner things change. The quote I choose for Tate is: “Kelly Turner, will you do me the honor of going steady with me for the rest of our lives?”

This is the second book of The Divided Series and I’ve got to say that I love this. They do amazing work and I couldn’t put this down.

Branson, twin #1, is still hearing voices, but it’s not Trevor who makes another appearance. He’s now in college and is about done. The quote I choose for Branson is: “And I’m sure they don’t battle with multiple voices competing with each other for top spot.”

Aaron, twin #2, worries about his brother. Aaron and Branson have never been separated, but college is different. While he’s no longer in his home state doesn’t mean he’s lost interest. The quote I choose for Aaron is: “When my mom first got sick, I planted a jasmine tree outside her bedroom window in Casper. I wanted her to wake up or go to bed with the smell of jasmine. It’s not too much or not enough but just the right amount.”

I highly recommend you read A Divided Mind before this. This book was written amazingly and I couldn’t put it down. M. Billiter can put words down like no other. I can’t wait for the next read by her.

A Divided Mind (The Divided Series #1) by M. Billiter

My first read by the author as well as the first book in The Divided Series. This book had me in tears and I couldn’t put it down. This was a great read and a great page turner.

Tara, a mother of 4, finds out that one of her oldest is not doing good. She doesn’t understand what is going on and how to help him. She thinks she did something wrong. The quote I choose for Tara is: “Just more appointments for Branson. More doctors. More uncertainty. Less hope.”

Branson, son of Tara, has got something wrong. Voices. Things normal teens don’t get. He’s lived with it for so long he doesn’t understand what’s going on. Doctors. The quote I choose for Branson is: “One minute I was asleep at my girlfriend’s house, and the next thing I know I was on the side of the road with someone else’s car, a cop thinking I was drunk, and my girlfriend and this dude bailing me out. I swear I’m not lying. I don’t remember how I got into the car or nothing.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Mrs. Holmes and what a read it was. This was a phenomenal read and I can’t wait for the next installment of the series. The characters are so real and it’s hard to put down.

Amen-hotep aka Hani is a diplomat and travels. He travels to find a friend who has been murdered. Things aren’t going well at home and things aren’t going well in the investigation. The quote I choose for Hani is: “Nub-nefer, my love, you must have trust. Trust in our good king, who is devoted to the Hidden One, his father. Look at how he’s built temples to his honor and remade the Southern Ipet temple completely. I can only repeat: he would never permit his son to do anything impious. You must believe that.”

Amen-mose aka Maya, Hani’s scribe, is taken along the journey with his employer. Maya wouldn’t be where he is if not for Hani and feels he owes him. He goes without complaint and finds that there’s something amiss. The quote I choose for Maya is: “Osir protect us! What an abomination! What sort of pervert would stoop to such a thing, Lord Hani?”

The Widow by Rebecca E. McEwen & Naomi Valkyrie

This is the first book I’ve ever read by Mrs. McEwen and Mrs. Valkyrie. They have done an outstanding job writing these characters. This book was hard to put down.

Vashti lost her husband and tried to figure out how to move on with her life. She is tired of sitting in the big house by herself. She ventures out to town and things start looking up. The quote I choose for Vashti is: “I know this is an unusual arrangement, but you will be taken care of in the event you should choose to end it. The only way you leave with nothing is if you violate the rules.”

Absalom, a college student, finds that life isn’t all it seems. He goes to a coffee shop and finds himself enchanted by Vashti. He finds himself in a sticky situation and is offered a good thing. The quote I choose for Absalom is: “You’re inviting a virtual stranger into your home? And you’re okay with that?”

Simeon, also a college student, finds himself in the middle of a situation. He goes to a friend hoping he can help out. When he is given the opportunity to stay with his friend things look up. The quote I choose for Simeon is: “Yeah, honestly, I do. You know, I’m really ashamed to say it, but I was expecting some freaky Night of the Living Dead kinda shit when I walked in the door here. It’s funny how you create judgments about people just because they dress weird or act other than what we would consider normal. I don’t want to know what people think about my family and me. Yeah, yeah, man, I have a good feeling about this.”

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a good romance. It has a dark edge to it and it’s fantastic. This is a hard to put down novel and is a real page turner.

Dare Me (The Demonology Series #1) by Felicity Brandon

Felicity has really outdone herself with this book. This is the first book I’ve read by Brandon. As the first book in The Demonology Series this gives you introductions to the fabulous characters. It does involve M/F/M.

Sara, an artist, has been down on her luck lately. Her boyfriend leaves, her mom died, and now she’s lonely in her little apartment. She can’t paint any good paintings to sell. Little does she know things are going to start looking up for her. The quote I choose for Sara is: “I don’t want to sit with him. Come with me, please!”

Raif, a demon, loves to lurk in the shadows of Earth. He knows what he wants and he’s set his sights on Sara. Helping her deal with some things before showing himself to her. The quote I choose for Raif is: “Not just any demon. Your demon, little fawn.”

I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good Demon novel. It’s fantasy meets reality. Being the first book I’ve read like this I have nothing to compare it to. I enjoyed reading this and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Mrs. Shannon has really outdone herself with this book! As this is my first read from her I highly recommend reading book 1. I loved everything about this witty, page-turner. This book follows Katie and Colm on their next adventure.

Katie, a 21st century woman, is thrown back into the past. A past in which she finds love. When she starts learning things; it seems the past isn’t all it seems.

Colm, a Captain,is thrown for a loop when he finds love. He learns that his great great great grandfather isn’t all he was told. He learns things his father didn’t even know.

Virtually Gone: A Mended Souls Novel (High Tech Crime Solvers #6) by Jacquie Biggar

This is part of The High Tech Crime Solvers Series, but can be read as a stand alone book. This is my first read by Jacquie and I’m in complete awe. The moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Jacquie has a way with wording and her characters.

Julie Crenshaw, a reporter, gets wind that there are rapes happening in her hometown. After being in danger once already her boss and boyfriend want what’s best for her. Her safety. The quote I choose for Julie is: “Well, I’ll be better when I can breathe.”

Matt Roy, a cop, has been working his butt off. First, he has to hunt down a killer who was out to hurt others and now he has to find the perp raping women. He is easily frustrated with reporters trying to get one up on him. He has a need to solve this case as it hits a little close to home. The quote I choose for Matt is: “Oh, no you don’t. Go home and wait. Connor will call as soon as we have any information. I mean it, Jules. Go home.”

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good crime. This has the best of both worlds, romance and suspense. Mrs. Biggar has done an outstanding job bringing these characters to life.

Jessica has outdone herself once again. Being the second book I’ve read by her I can say she’s a very talented writer. This is a page turner and will leave you wanting to know more.

Val is still running her group and things have taken a turn for the worse or maybe it’s for the better. She is living the life she didn’t know she even wanted. What happens when she wants revenge for the ones she cares about? The quote I choose for Val is: “You’re too good to be true. I hope I can make you as happy as you’ve made me.”

Tim has offered Val more than anyone before. He promises to help with something Val thought impossible. What happens when the small town gets a murderer? What will Tim do? The quote I choose for Tim is: “Val, there’s nothing you could do to make me stop loving you. I’m afraid you’re stuck with me…forever. You know…until death do us part. What’s going on? Is there something you want to talk about?”

I do highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good mystery. Being the second book in the Scope of Practice Series I do recommend reading the first one. This will have you wanting more by time the book ends.

This is my first read by Aiken-Hall and wow. This was a phenomenal read. Mrs. Aiken-Hall had me on the edge of my seat with this page turner.

Valerie, a social worker at the hospital is hiding something from her past. When she is told to start a group it does some good and some bad. Things are brought up that makes her think of her past. What happens when she starts letting people in? The quote I choose for Val is: “I’m not sure. Maybe it’s because Carmen and Gabriel were the same age. But I think it’s more than that. I just had a bad feeling when I walked into that room…and it hasn’t left me since.”

Tim, a cop, has always had a thing for Val, as he calls her. Things start looking up for him when a case brings them closer. After the holidays things are going great. The quote I choose for Tim is: “Nope, not today. I changed my plans. Today is just another amazing day with my love. I love you everyday, Val, I don’t need a special holiday to show you.”

This is the first book in the Scope of Practice Series and it will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait for the next installment to come out. Mrs. Aiken-Hall has done a fantastic job grabbing attention and making you want to know what happens next.

Blessed: Academy of Seraph By Brandi Elledge

Mrs. Elledge has done a fantastic job writing this book! She captured my attention from the beginning and had it to the end. I found it hard to put it down.

Gabriella, a teenage girl, has been running for the last two years. When she’s finally caught up to she’s taken to one of the academies. She’s told not to trust anyone because you never know which side they’ll choose. The quote I choose for Gabriella is: “Maka? You’ve called me that before what does it mean?”

Finn, the commander for one of the academies, catches up to Gabriella. There he finds that there’s more to her than meets the eye. He then finds himself drawn to her and finds himself protecting her. The quote I choose for Finn is: “It wouldn’t be important to anyone else. They took it because they are trying to figure me out.”

I really advise anyone who’s reading this to be ready to laugh. This book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good laugh.
