Colors of Darkness: Ability Awareness Activity Book by Feather Chelle provides a insightful perspective on living with (dis)ability. The author has been blind since childhood, and through her poetry, and personal journey, she gives us a window into how she experiences life without sight. This is an inspiring book- and I loved how well the author conveys her thoughts and experiences, especially through her poetry. Looking forward to reading whatever she does next!

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? by Susan J. Berger- illustrations by K.C. snider. This is a cute children’s Christmas book with interesting and colourful illustrations to accompany the story. This book helps to answer the age old question that seems to come with children growing up… “is there a Santa?”/ “ is Santa real?” – this book helps to answer this difficult question with a lovely story that focuses on Lucas as he asks this question of his mother. Her response is quite heartwarming. The overall message of the story is about not only about the magic of Christmas, but also about the importance of keeping the dream alive and being a ‘Dream-Keeper”. Happy Reading!

Diabolical Sword is the first book in The Charm Collector series by Melissa Erin Jackson. What a wonderful start to a new series this proved to be. I love a great urban fantasy- and this proved to be all that and more. Highly original, intriguing, and imaginative- this story ticked all the boxes for me. Let’s face it though, the author had me at sentient sword! Colour me intrigued!!! Then add a cast of quirky and interesting characters, fantastic world building, magic, crime, mystery, adventure, danger, shifters, sorcerers, drama, humour, action, agendas, and the paranormal- and this book turned out to be quite a fun and exciting story. I highly enjoyed this first instalment and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Happy Reading!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet by Amy Argent.
As this follows on from the first book I highly recommend reading Book One before beginning this second instalment. As with the first book, this is a very angsty, heart-wrenching and emotional read, so having some tissues close by would be a good idea-as you will definitely need them. Tori came into Will’s life right when he thought it was all over and he had nothing left worth fighting for. They never expected to fall in love- but love sometimes comes when we least expect it. Cancer had its grip on him, and he thought his time was up. But with Tori by his side and their love blossoming, he finds the courage and determination to fight his cancer, especially if it will give them a chance of a future together. But things are not going to be easy, that’s for sure, they are going to be challenged like never before and their bond of friendship and love will be put to the test. So, as you can imagine, with such an intense and emotional topic- fighting for your life with cancer- this story really hits hard- so be prepared to have your emotions toyed with as Ms. Argent doesn’t hold back. My emotions got quite a workout. While this story is quite sad and emotionally taxing at times- there is also sweetness to it too. After reading the first book, I really needed to know what happened, so it was a given that I would snap up a copy of this so I could have a front row seat to what would happen next….. and this proved to be a great follow-up to the first instalment, another angsty story with our MC facing his death and his mortality…. it also inspires hope while showing us the power of love.

Strega- Magic: The Spirit Never Dies by Lynne Russell. I have read quite a few of this author’s books before and really enjoyed each and every one. This book is a bit of a departure from what I have come to expect- but just as well written and enjoyable as the others. It also has the humorous touches that I love about her books. A romantic suspense with witches, history, magic, the paranormal, drama, reincarnation, betrayal, tragedy, and dramatic developments…. which kept me turning the pages to discover how everything played out in the end. Looking forward to seeing what she does next. Happy Reading!

When I read the blurb for this book I didn’t hesitate to grab a copy to dive into. It teased me with all the ingredients I look for in a dark romance. As dark romance is one of my favourite (sub) genres to read I am always on the look-out for more, and I have devoured more than my fair share of them. So, I was excited to find a new (to me) author to add to my collection. Not having read any of her work before, I wasn’t sure what to expect from one of her stories, but like I said, the story held the promise of being dark and delicious, so I lept into the story. While I did like the story, I will be honest and say that unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations and didn’t quite deliver on the promise held in the synopsis, either, for me. The beginning was slow to get going and then later when the pace did pick up, there were parts that still lagged/dragged. Then there were parts where the writing felt choppy or stilted, and some of the transitions from scene to scene, or character POV’s were quite abrupt. Again, this is just how I felt while reading it. I seem to be an exception to the rule, as I notice most other reader reviews for this story are quite glowing. But for me there were a few too many issues that pulled me out of the story and, quite frankly, left me a little disappointed. But maybe it is just me. This is a dark romance with espionage, mafia, action, violence, brutality, dramatic moments, tension, and suspense. There are scenes that may trigger some readers, so be warned…

This was a bit of a bittersweet read for me knowing that this was the last instalment in in the series, but also desperately wanting to find out what happens. I absolutely adore this series- it has made it onto my list of all-time favourite reads! I really wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters or the ‘world’ that this incredibly talented author has created…. So, imagine my excitement when I got to the end of the book and found that there are more books planned, to come, that will be set in The Three Immortals Universe- I literally squealed at my kindle when read those words. Sooooo excited!!!!!! CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!! The Box is the highly anticipated fourth instalment in the incredibly addictive ‘Her Three Immortals’ series by Hazel Storm. This is the climatic conclusion to Vanessa, Grey, Raef, and Aroz’s story that we started back in Book One. This was everything I could have hoped for and more!!! The story had me firmly in its spell as I devoured every word- it’s so incredibly good!! Like I said, I am beyond excited to find there are more stories to come from this universe- happy happy happy dance!!! The Box continues from where we left off at the end of Book #3- so if you haven’t read the other three books yet, I highly recommend that you do so before starting on this story, as they contain important details which you should know in order to fully appreciate this book and the series as a whole. Again, as with the other three books, this is a brilliant paranormal romance- a delicious RH story that sizzles right off the pages. This fantasy is full of adventure, action, suspense, agendas, plots, wonderful world building, magic, drama, danger, Gods/Goddesses, mythology, fate/destiny, trust, emotion, prophecy, and so much more. In this instalment, Vanessa’s new task is to fill a small golden box with ‘eternal beauty’ and return it to the icy goddess- easy peasy, right? Well, not so much. To complete her task, Vanessa will need to get to Tartarus, the hottest, nastiest part of the underworld- climb to the highest peak, and then persuade the old goddess who lives there to fill the box with eternal beauty. And so, the adventure begins. But there are those who don’t want her to succeed- throwing obstacles and danger in her path—adding to the intensity and suspense of this already exciting story. If you love fantasy and paranormal romance, Greek mythology, adventure, and plenty of sizzle- then I suggest you snap up this book/series to explore for yourself- trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Conveniently Yours is the first book in the Titans of Manhattan series by Anise Storm. I have read a few of this author’s books before and loved every one, so I didn’t even have to think about purchasing this book to read, and happily one-clicked a copy and dove in as soon as it hit my Kindle. I have to be honest, the start of this book had me a little worried as I was pretty sure I was going to hate Caspian, our male MC… but I kept reading and surprisingly he, and the author, won me over in only a few short chapters. By that time I was well and truly hooked- completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their story. Caspian Archer is a titan of the corporate world. His past still haunts him- the driving force behind his rise to success. He leads an enviable lifestyle, with anything he wants within his reach. So, when his uncle demands that Caspian marries quickly, or face losing everything he has worked so hard for, Caspian has no choice but to come up with a cunning plan. Bumping into his long-lost childhood friend in his hour of need seems quite fatuitous, for them both. Paisley Fischer is down on her luck- all her hopes and dreams are crumbling before her, and on top of it all she faces losing her beloved mother if she can’t find the funds to provide the medical care she desperately needs. But a blast from the past might just hold the key to not only keeping her head above water, but more importantly being able to properly care for her mother. Will she agree to his unconventional proposal? Has she got what it takes to carry out the plan? This story is definitely worth the read to find out! This story is a superb fake marriage contemporary romance with plenty of chemistry, sparks, and sizzle. There are angsty and emotional moments, and times where these two characters either made me want to shake some sense into them or wrap my arms around them in a huge hug for what they had been, or were going through…. Colour me hooked on this series now and I can not wait to get my hands on Book #2, it can’t come quick enough!

A Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard is a sweet, light-hearted, and captivating Christmas romance. This is my first read by Ms. Richard, so I really didn’t know what to expect from her work. But my love of Christmas romance ensured that I was soon one-clicking a copy for myself to explore. I love this time of year when all the great Christmas stories start showing up on my recommended book lists and I can indulge more in this category. But believe me when I say that Christmas stories don’t have to be limited to just the season- they can be enjoyed all year round. This story was such a fun read. I loved the addition of the bakery and the meet-cute element. Thea and Ben are really wonderfully crafted characters, they were so easy to like and invest in. I was so immersed in the story that time flew past and before I knew it I had reached the end- with a big smile on my face…. This may be my first read from Ms. Richard, but after this, it certainly won’t be my last.

“In the end, isn’t balance and the healthy connection between mind, body, and soul what magic is all about? The irony of committing to self-care is that you rarely have tangible evidence of your growth, only the fullness in your chest that tells you that you’re living well. It is so deeply personal that only your bones and heart whispering their contentment tell me that you am truly listening to your needs. That’s the Goddess speaking. When we tap into this Goddess energy by unifying our bodies, minds, and spirits, we return to our magic. We have more time to take in the wider world around us. We create space to converse with the stars, ask the moon questions, and share our deepest wishes with the Universe—and hear them respond in turn. When we forget to nourish everyday magic through self-care, we forget to live. It can sometimes feel like a long road back to a well-rounded self. But you can’t get there until you first unlearned the toxic beliefs that disconnect you from the Divine Feminine. In order to heal, you must become your very own Persephone, at home in the Underworld and the world above, fluent in the language of the psyche and grounded in the routine of daily life. You must walk through Hell, know your demons and remember that angels walk among us.”
Practically Pagan by Maria DeBlassie is aimed at showing the reader how they can create a ‘little more magic’ in their life. The author does this by giving insights through sharing her own journey into everyday magic. She also provides practical examples, things that don’t require anything more than changing your mindset and in the process embracing more mindfulness, as well as emphasising the importance of selfcare. She shows how having a routine can be in itself quite ritualistic. It was great to be reminded of things that I already know but have let slip a little over the past couple of years. Well worth the read!

CC Cippolini gets an opportunity to leave her past behind to drive across country to deliver a luxury vehicle interstate. Should be easy. Right? Well things don’t exactly go to plan and she ends up on a bit of a detour of sorts. Reese Brockbank’s world is about to get a serious shake up when CC comes crashing into his life. He has trust issues that run deep, but circumstances see him taking her into his home, and it’s here that things really get interesting! With both having past pain to deal with, will they risk a chance on love? The story is definitely worth the read to find out! Cross-Country Christmas is the first book in the Silver Buckle Brides series by Laurie Lewis. I have read quite a few of Ms. Lewis’s books now and there isn’t one that I haven’t loved. This is a wonderful holiday romance- with Christmas and cowboys, Ms. Laurie provided two favourites in one book. There is definitely more to this story though- there is an emotional element to the story with the characters dealing with their own pain which adds drama to the story, but there are lighter aspects too- witty/ funny banter, sweet scenes, and heartwarming moment; as well as family, friendship, second chances, new beginnings, spirituality, and hope. I can really see this making a captivating Christmas movie- I’d love to see it come to life on the big screen!! Looking forward to the next book from Ms. Lewis! Happy Reading!

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie is a fantastic paranormal MM romance. Wonderfully woven, this story is another feather in Ms. Valkyrie’s hat! She seems to have a limitless well of intriguing stories just waiting for her to release them onto the pages and into the world for us to enjoy. She never ceases to amaze me with her highly original storylines that have their own identity and her unique and clever touches stamped all over them. This book had a bit of an Egyptian mythology feel to it- turning up the intrigue level several notches for me. This story might be on the shorter side, but it packs the punch of a much longer novel. I would have loved the story to be longer, not because it was lacking anything- but because I was so caught up in the story that I wanted to know more about the society and backgrounds etc. Archeron is a vulture shifter, an outcast from the ‘normal’ shifter society due to his service to the dead and dying. Errapel is a caring nurse hare shifter. Their worlds collide when fate brings them together to ‘care’ for a dying client. And so, the sparks of change ignite- making for a wonderful story about fated mates and the power of love. The story is sweet, spicy, sexy, emotional, and romantic. It has a bit of dystopian feel to the fantasy, too. We enter a shifter society with its own unique identity- with superb worldbuilding from Ms. Valkyrie- she constructed a very interesting world in which to set her story. She also explores themes of race, discrimination, castes, bigotry, societal expectation- as well as setting a spark for change. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Valkyrie does next!
Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood. This is a great contemporary romance- with a small town setting, second chances, chemistry, emotion, humour, drama, banter, antics, and wonderful characters with depth and a real endearing quality. I loved the first book, so when I saw this pop up I happily grabbed a copy and jumped right in. Breckin and Griff were so easy to love and invest in. I was immersed in their story, cheering them on from the sidelines. They didn’t have an easy run- but this book has all the feels you could want in a story. It dug its way under my skin and left a permanent impression. Bring on Book #3!

A Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash really made an impression on me. I was still thinking of this story, and characters, long after closing the final page. It is an interesting blend of women’s fiction, crime, a touch of the paranormal, intrigue, mystery, emotion, and more. The story touches on some sensitive topics and could be considered a trigger for some (domestic abuse towards children, domestic violence, mental abuse etc). The story is emotionally charged in places, and I found my emotions definitely got a bit of a workout. My heart broke and I wanted to storm into the story and set things right. If you like an interesting story that makes you feel a myriad of emotions, then this might just be the story you’re looking for.

Spoilsport is the second book in the Pierce Brothers series by Belinda Williams. Ms. Williams’ never fails to deliver a great read and this book was no exception. This is a fun romcom with second chances, opposites attract, humour, angst, tension, steam, and a touch of drama. What if you were a love-‘em and Leave-‘em kind of girl and the only builder available to help you with your fixer-upper is a guy you swore never to see again after a hot and steamy one-night-stand. Could get complicated. Right? Well, that’s exactly where Nadia Alverez finds herself when desperate times call for desperate measures. But she should be able to keep things professional. Right? The Mating Call is the first book in the Long Claw Pride series by Brooke May. It is the start to a sublime new shifter series- this time we get mountain lion shifters. Ms. May had me at shifters – but making them mountain lions added an extra element of interest for me. It turned out to be a really great paranormal romance, with fated mates, drama, angst, family, community, finding where you belong, letting go of the past, and more. Cheyenne and Lane were so easy to love- I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. Ms. May didn’t make it too easy for them though- and they had to work for their chance at happiness. This is definitely my favourite book of Ms. May’s- so far! I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series now! Can’t wait!

Caught in Midnight Shadows is the fourth book in The Caught Series by Sharleen Scott. This is another fantastic romantic suspense, with danger, drama, intrigue, tension, mystery, suspense, chemistry, surprising developments, and action. I can always count on Ms. Scott to deliver a very intriguing story and this one certainly lived up to expectations- pulling me in right from the very beginning. The intriguing nature of the story had me trying to figure out what was going on, and completely immersed in the story. The mystery and suspense were done really well done, with plenty of tension which gave it a bit of a sinister and gripping vibe. A tightly woven plot with clever touches full of dramatic developments that had me on the edge of my seat, reading avidly to discover how it would all play out. Looking forward to seeing what she has in store for us next…. Highly recommended!

Check In is the second book in The Bobbins Sisters series by Debra Parmley. This is a romantic suspense story with drama, mystery, and intrigue. I hate to say this, as I know how much time, energy, heart, and soul authors put into their work- but I really found it difficult to connect with the story and the characters. There was something missing for me. I felt it needed to be a little more dramatic, with more tension, intensity, and chemistry for this story/series to really grab my attention. I found my interest and attention wandering and had to really force myself to stay focused. I prefer the story to grab me and pull me in so deep that I lose all sense of time and place. This story wasn’t that for me. But please don’t let my opinion put you off reading the book/series because plenty of readers would probably really enjoy this book. It’s just that I like my romantic suspense/mysteries to be a little meatier. I will come back and re-read this book again in a few weeks just to see if I still feel the same way, or if I was having a bad reading day when I picked this up.

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book #1) contains the first four parts of The Elements of Kamdaria by Kay L Moody; Ice Crown, Wind Crown, Dust Crown, and Flame Crown. It is a wonderful YA Fantasy- with magic, mystery, action, and adventure. I think it has a bit of an Avatar The Last Airbender feel to the story- but definitely has its own unique identity and originality too. I found the story to be well written and very interesting. I think this series holds great promise, and if this is anything to go by the rest of the series looks set to be fabulous. I am looking forward to exploring the coming instalments and am intrigued to see where the series goes from here!

“Of course there are some rules that should be adhered to at weddings, such as dress code. Not wearing white. Not upstaging the bride. But wedding hook-ups are expected. I don’t think there are any rules against that. It’s just two people who are insanely attracted to each other, giving in to their desires. The bridesmaid and the groomsman keeping with tradition and doing the dirty.”
The Groomsman is the second book in the Unexpected series by Marina Hanna. It’s a wonderful contemporary romance that completely captivated me with a wonderfully sexy story. The chemistry between the characters nearly set my Kindle on fire. In this story we follow Lauren Roberts and Mark Taylor. We met Mark and Lauren in the first book, Love Unexpected- Jules and Adam’s story, as Lauren is Jules best friend and Mark is Adam’s lawyer and best friend. I really loved the first book, so it was a given that I would snap up a copy of this to find out more about Lauren and Mark. With Adam being a groomsman and Lauren a bridesmaid at their friend’s wedding, chemistry begins to combust- then sparks fly and things get very steamy. What was supposed to be a one-night-stand to release their sexual tension gets a little more complicated and angsty than they expected. Will love win out in the end? This is definitely worth the read to find out. The story was everything I could have hoped for and more. A fun story- but with enough drama, angst, and emotion to keep the momentum going the whole way through to the end. I loved catching up with what was happening with Jules and Adam too. Bring on Marina Hanna’s next book!

What’s not to love about Rockstar romance- right? This is all that and more! Hands down one of the best Rockstar romance stories/series that I have read- and I have read quite a few. Ms. Roberts knows her craft so well. This story has so much depth, development, interest, and attention to detail. And, when combined with the rest of the series- magic happens! Luke is the fourth book in the amazing Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. As with the previous three books, this is a superb Rockstar romance with plenty of emotion, drama, angst, chemistry, sizzle, tension, family friendship, choices, new beginnings, a touch of suspense- as well as being a bit of a window into the Rockstar lifestyle. It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the previous three books first, as they help to build the backbone of the series, introduce the characters and provide other important details that can only enhance your reading experience of this book- as well as the series as a whole- not to mention that they are a wonderful reading experience in their own rights. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robert’s has in store for us next!

Surprise Babyfor Mr. Fischer is the first book in the Curvy Ever After series by Stephanie Harrell. This story is a contemporary romance with a fairytale feel. As this author is new to me, I really didn’t know what to expect from her work, but I thought it could be a fun story and clicked a copy to jump into for a couple of hours. I found I was right; this was a fun story to read- with fully developed characters who were both interesting and endearing, I was cheering them on from the beginning. Movie star holiday fling leads to surprise pregnancy. What happens when he finds out? Will it draw him closer, or drive him away? Is there any chance of a future together, or will fame and meddling put the brakes on any chance they might have had for a HEA? If you want to find out how this story ends, then you really should pick up a copy and read all the intriguing developments for yourself. Sweet. Sexy. Entertaining.

Second book into this amazing series and Ms. McKinley has hit it out of the park again!!! Blood Oath is the second fantastic book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. As with the first book, this is a brilliant mafia romance- a romantic suspense story with an action-packed plot, secrets, dramatic developments, mafia politics, intrigue, tension, chemistry, steamy encounters, emotion, and more… This book continues what we started in book one, but this is Sofia and Enzo’s story (whom we met in book one as supporting characters). I loved all the interconnected details and intriguing threads that Ms. McKinley is weaving through her stories, and series. It makes for riveting reading. I have a new addiction and I can’t wait for my next fix!!! Seriously, if you love mafia romance, and/or romantic suspense, then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story/series!!! Enjoy!

Snowflakes and Stockings is the fourth book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series by Marianne Rice. I love all things Christmas- especially Christmas/holiday romances, so when this popped up as a recommendation I was only too happy to grab a copy and dive in. This isn’t my first read by Ms. Rice, so I knew this would be good right from the get-go. Born to Fall is the second book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, so I was beyond excited to see this second instalment had released. Again, as with the first, this is a Sci-fi romance with post-apocalyptic and dystopian themes, resistance fighters, high stakes, and dangerous turns. I have to say that this second book is just as good, if not even better than the first book. I am officially addicted to Brittany Ann’s stories- it was so easy to lose myself in her story, in a really great way and now I need more. This is packed full of action, adventure, danger, drama, suspense, mystery, chemistry, sizzle, tension, intrigue, hop, emotion, secrets, lies, agendas, intensity, and so much more. I was completely immersed in the story, reading the whole thing in just a few hours as my eyes flew over the pages to find out what happens. Such a riveting read! As expected from Brittany Ann, this was another fantastically exciting, steamy and emotional read- with heartaching parts, touching + tender scenes, sweet and romantic moments, as well as intense edge-of-your-seat gripping suspense…. all of which Brittany Ann masterfully choreographed into an entirely addictive and amazing story. Highly recommended!!!

Twilight’s Curse is the first book in The Twilight Realm Trilogy by K.M. Wray. It is a YA fantasy adventure story with elves, dragons, magic, action, drama, battle scenes, and emotions. The world building is original and gives the story its own unique identity. Ms. Wray has done a good job of bringing her ‘world’, characters, and story to life – only I was the barrier to truly enjoying this story as I couldn’t fully connect with the characters or their story. I am hoping that the next book may remedy that, because this type of story is normally my jam. But this has set the trilogy off to an interesting start, laying the foundations, and giving me a taste of what’s yet to come.

Red’s Peril Part One: The Making of an MC Prez is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC Vegas series– a new spin off from the original Stan’s Devils series, by Manda Mellett. It is another superb MC romance, with drama, danger, twists, agendas, mystery, friendship, camaraderie, banter, emotion, chemistry, and sizzle. We have met Red in previous books, so it was great that he finally got his own book(s)- and WOW, what a story he has to tell! This is definitely one of Ms. Mellett’s best yet- and that’s saying a lot, because all her books are so fantastic. I was completely invested in the character/s and the story- my emotions strung out and flung all over the place. But Ms. Mellett isn’t finished toying with my emotions yet, as this story is set to continue in the next book. GAH!!! I need it STAT!!! I can’t wait to get my hands on it to find out what happens. Fantastic!
