The Traveler: Book Two is the second instalment in The Traveler series by Deborah Dugan. As with the first book, it is a sci-fi fantasy with time travel, adventure, plenty of originality and imagination, tension, and intrigue- making for a highly creative read . This is the second book in the series and follows The Traveler in their journey, so in saying that I highly recommend reading the first book in the series before starting on this one. The first book will help ground you in the storyline, as well as provide interesting and important details that will help enhance your reading experience of this book. As we discovered in Book One, The Traveler is an ancient ‘being’ who has travelled the universe and has taken on various forms over the millennia’s, using these ‘experiences’ as a means to gaining knowledge and power. I felt this second story was even more complex, impactful, and emotional than the first. I felt it also had a lot more depth and development than the first- the author has really found her groove with the story and character/s. I enjoyed the first book, but this second book is better still. Another unique, interesting, and somewhat thought-provoking read. Happy reading!

Road Rage is the fourth book in the OUTLAW series by Karina Kantas. This is a story full of tension and intrigue, woven through a dark MC romantic suspense that had me wondering about the outcome right from the beginning. This isn’t my first book from Ms. Kantas, but it is probably my favourite, so far. With intensity, emotion, interesting characters and storyline, a fast pace, MC politics, danger, violence, drama, chemistry, spice, betrayal, and more- this book made for a bit of a thrill-ride! There were moments where the story slowed down or lagged a bit, and parts where I would have like to have seen just a little more detail and development- but this didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story. Doctor D’s Orderly Affair by C.A. King is part of the Doctors of Eastport General series– a collaboration by several different authors, each releasing their own story set in Eastport General Hospital. This is Ms. Kings short and sexy addition to the series. Let’s face it, if I didn’t already love Ms. King’s stories, she would have had me at sexy Doctor. This story is a (novella) tasty snack sized contemporary romance- with the presence of a much larger novel. We meet Doctor D, and follow along as he meets Emily and sparks fly. What happens makes for a fun read. Now I am excited to check out the other books in this series and see what they have in store for us.

Midnight Masquerade is the first book in The Brightley Sisters series by Halley Larkin. I loved meeting the Brightley sisters and following along as Charmaine, the elder sister, sets of on a quest for love. The sisters hold a masked ball to raise funds for a worthy cause, enter a mysterious stranger who immediately captures Charmaine’s interest. After three ‘failed’ seasons of not finding a husband, she is quickly approaching the point where she will be considered an old maid and ‘off the market’. As the older sister she holds the fate of not only herself, but her two younger sisters, in her hands. She feels the weight of this responsibility weighing on her shoulders and knows time is running out. Meeting this charming and mysterious stranger at the ball has her hoping she may have finally found her ‘match’ and the solution to her problems. But he leaves before she is able to discover his identity. Now her future depends on uncovering who the masked stranger is. Add in a Duke with his own pressing problems and a past that haunts him, some meddling sisters, an ailing father, reputations at risk, a nasty ex and his vengeful father, agendas, the ‘ton politics, and societal expectations of the day- and things not only get a bit tense, but also quite intriguing. A Bride For Noah is the first book in the Brides of Broken Arrow series by Cheryl Wright. This is my first read from Ms. Wright, so I was keen to see what she could do with a story. I am happy to say that I enjoyed this sweet historical romance and feel it has set the series off to a great start. Noah is left reeling when he discovers that the land he thought he owned could be forfeited if he didn’t marry within the month. One big problem- the lack of available women in his area. He needs a ‘wife’ asap- what will he do?? The solution to his problems comes in the form of Mary Stanton, who just happens to need a solution to her pressing problems. An arrangement might be exactly what these two need to get out of their sticky situations. But what happens if feeling become involved? You really should read all the interesting details for yourself if you want to know what happens in this wholesome, cute story. This is quite a heartwarming story. The characters are fully developed and endearing individuals- I couldn’t help but connect with them and their sweet story. I really liked Noah and Mary, and I especially felt for Mary and what she had been through. Perfect for readers who prefer their romance with a ‘clean’ and wholesome plot. A marriage of convenience and finding love unexpectedly… Happy Reading!

The Worry Knot by Mary Bleckwehl is a story aimed at middle school aged children, but I think it could be appreciated by readers of all ages. This story deals with childhood angst, ‘worries’ (anxiety), friendship, family dynamics, school life, challenges, and acceptance- while providing lessons along the way. We follow 12 year-old Rourke, who is an extreme worrywart, as he experiences all the angst that comes with having so much anxiety, as well as all the other challenges associated with middle school life. Add in some mysterious neighbours, concern for friends, dysfunctional family dynamics, sibling bonds, trying to fit in, and other ‘worries’- and this story becomes a lesson for us all. Well worth the read!

‘Journeys Through Collection: Volumes 1-3′ contains all three books in the Journeys Through series by James Talisman. I love a boxed set, getting multiple books at a time- that’s always a winner in my eyes. Mr. Talisman has crafted a wonderful sci-fi adventure story full of imagination and creative touches. His world building is quite original- and gives his stories an extra element of intrigue. The adventures are well-woven and thought provoking- easily pulling me in to become part of all the action. But along with the action and adventure, Mr. Talisman also explores themes of consciousness, relativity, spirituality, ancient wisdoms, time travel, reality, the multiverse, connection, and more. Three stories in one- now that’s a great deal! Just to give you a taste of what to expect, here is my individual review for Book One: ‘Journeys Through SpaceTime’ is the debut novel, and first instalment in the ‘Journeys Through’ series by James Talisman. This sci-fi/fantasy story has so much going on in it and quite a lot of characters to keep track of. The storyline is multi-layered and complex, with multiple worlds and time-lines. The weaving of the story takes us on an action-packed adventure- where good vs evil, danger abounds, hidden agendas come to light, and a bit of ‘political’ manoeuvring takes place. As this story spans space, and time- and introduces various principles/concepts to do with consciousness, universal energy and wisdom- it begins to build and explain the dynamics of this MultiVerse. The story is told from multiple points of view- which gives the reader a fully immersive reading experience whilst helping us to better understand the dynamics of each ‘layer’ of the storyline. There’s definitely a mysteriousness to the storyline, which adds to the overall intrigue. It’s very interesting, if not a little wordy in places. All the ‘action’ in the various ‘worlds’, and with so many characters playing their part in this epic story; as well as all the switching back and forth between worlds and POV’s- made things a little confusing for me in the beginning. But as I got more of a handle on the story, characters, and flow- I really enjoyed the journey. There are factors of the story which had a ‘Roman Legion’ feel, while other parts felt more Egyptian- with space and technological components, some Japanese Samurai like elements; as well as delving into some spirituality and consciousness concepts, & then the space and time factors, and conspiracies/plots/hidden agendas thrown in for good measure- and this story really took off. It will both captivate you, while making you think. There is plenty of suspenseful moments which had me flipping the pages to discover how everything would play out. I loved that while a few of the threads were tied up at the end- we are left knowing that there is more to come- and plenty more to discover and unravel in the following instalment/s.

Unlock the Angel is the first book in the Seraphim Angel Order series by Calla Zae. This is not my first read by this author and I am enjoying exploring Calla Zae’s work, as she always seems to bring something new to the table. This is a sweet and spicy paranormal romance that kept me reading well past my bedtime. It is well written with fully developed and endearing characters as well as an original take on Angel lore. This originality and the wonderful world building gave this sweet story an extra element of interest too. Add in a bit of danger, good vs evil, emotion, and some dramatic turns- made it a story that wouldn’t let me put it down. I did want to know more about the ‘world’ and the ‘Order’, but I am hoping that will come in further instalments. Looking forward to the rest of the series now. Happy reading!

It’s books like this that make keep me coming back for more. I get so excited when I find a book that looks like it will be an interesting read, but turns out to be so much more- providing an escape that just blows me away…. A Spider In the Garden is a fantastic urban fantasy from Courtney Davis. This may be my first read by Ms. Davis, but after reading this book she has definitely gained a stalker, ummm I mean avid reader, for life!!!! #mustreadauthorlist This is such a wonderful, and refreshingly original paranormal romance that completely captivated me right from the beginning. As a major arachnophobe, like I can’t even stand to be in the same room as a spider (even a teeny-tiny one)- the chances of me falling in love with a spider-shifter story wasn’t a high probability. But as I love to read different things and push myself out of my comfort zones, I thought I would take a peek at this story. And I am soooooooooo happy I did, because I absolutely LOVED it!!! Yep, this may have cured me of my arachnophobia- well let’s not get too carried away, but at the very least this has cured me of my fear of spiders in the printed world lol. Aranha is a spider shifter, and the last of her kind. Her days are a constant struggle for survival. Humans don’t pose a threat to her, but the vampires and werewolves certainly do. It’s imperative that she stay hidden from other paranormal creatures who would kill her if they knew of her existence. Much better for them to think webmakers to be extinct. But then fate leads her into Dag’s bar, and things get….interesting. Add in some hidden agendas, an innocent girl captured by vampires with a diabolical plan, intrigue, mystery, emotion, paranormal politics, and palpable danger- and this story really takes off. I hope there are more books planned for this ‘world’ as Ms. Davis has left me with a bit of an addiction and I need another ‘fix’. I am so thrilled to have discovered Ms. Davis and her wonderful stories. I am off to read her other book ‘A Werewolf in Women’s Clothes’ and can’t wait for her to release more stories for me to devour….. Happy Reading!

‘Journeys Through AllCreation’ is the third instalment in the ‘Journeys Through’ series by James Talisman. As with the previous books, this is an intriguing sci-fi and fantasy adventure story. We embark on this new adventure with many familiar faces playing their part, as well as some interesting new additions to the cast. I enjoyed the first two books and was intrigued to see where this ‘journey’ would lead us. As this is the third book in the series, with a lot of recurring characters, as well as some over-arching storyline, I really recommend reading the other two books before embarking on this journey as having all the backstory, previous adventures, character introductions, and other important information contained in those first two books will definitely enhance your reading experience of this third instalment. This is another well thought out, multi-layered, complex, and intriguing action-packed adventure. With all creation at risk of destruction we join a quest seeking an ancient artifact that has the power to help save creation from disappearing. A powerful being with evil intent threatens to wreak havoc- making for a high stakes journey, action-packed adventure full of danger and mystery. Along with the other two books in this series, we are provided a thought provoking read with plenty of action that also explores themes of consciousness, relativity, spirituality, ancient wisdoms, time travel, reality, the multiverse, and much more. I had very high expectations for this book because all her previous releases have been so stellar, and I am happy to report that Ms. Luana definitely delivered the goods with this wonderful book. I really can’t find the words to do this story the justice it deserves, so I will just say that I can’t recommend this story highly enough and if you are looking at reading it, run and snap up a copy and dive in, you really won’t be disappointed! The Clockwork Solution is the second instalment in The Clockwork Chronicles series by Michelle D. Sonnier. After reading the first instalment in this fun series, I was intrigued by what this story would hold. It is another young adult story- a sci-fi/steampunk/gaslight fantasy with magic, witches, danger, technomancy, drama, and more. We re-join Arabella in this story as she sets off on her first assignment- to uncover what’s causing the famine in Ireland. There is a lot riding on the outcome of her investigation, and Arabella feels the weight of responsibility on her shoulders. Two witches have already lost their lives in this quest- so now Arabella’s life is also on the line. What happens makes for a fun read. This ends with a cliffhanger, eeep- so will have to wait for the next book to see what happens next. Happy Reading!

The Clockwork Witch is the first instalment in The Clockwork Chronicles series by Michelle D. Sonnier. This is my first read from this author, so I was intrigued by what the story would be like. It turned out to be a fun read- a young adult story with sci-fi elements, all wrapped up in steampunk/gaslight fantasy. This was such an original and creative story with magic, witches, wonderful world building, prophecy, threats, danger, and some illustrations sprinkled through to highlight the story. Arabella is a great character, a witch with technomancy magic- which makes her a bit of an outcast in the witching world. But with her ability to manipulate all things mechanical, a prophecy, and a little danger, things are about to get interesting. Daire’s Devils by Danielle Ackley-McPhail is an epic military sci-fi story full of action and adventure. I know from reading this story, and the intro that came at the beginning, that Daire’s Devils is set in, and based on a RPG game and it’s ‘world’- and I definitely think this would make a great game, or even a movie/series. The author’s detailed descriptions brought this futuristic space adventure to life, and I loved all the action and adventure. The characters were really great, and it was easy to get absorbed by the story, although there were parts where the story felt rushed, or skimmed over- but overall, it was an enjoyable read. So, if you love sci-fi military adventures that take you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to join a crack squad who are tasked with defending a colony who is under threat of invasion, then this is definitely the story for you. A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sister) by Marianne Rice is a contemporary romance- about finding love unexpectedly and taking a chance on love. It has a wounded warrior component to it, as well as emotion, secrets, and sizzling chemistry. This book could be read as a standalone, but you might find as I did, that one book will lead you to wanting to read more. Gina’s life got turned upside down when she was wounded by a roadside bomb while serving in the army two years ago. She has bravely rebuilt a life for herself, but never really puts herself ‘out there’, always keeping her distance so as not to feel the sting of hurt or rejection. But when Bryce enters her world, he seems to be able to scale the massive walls she has surrounded herself with. Will he be able to handle ALL her secrets, dismantle her defences, and get her to take a chance on love? Another emotional and yet heartwarming story from this talented author. Power Play is the first book in the Astoria Bay Thunder series by C.J. Cartwright. This is a second chance sports romance with emotion, angst, drama, chemistry, sizzle, banter, heartache, and new beginnings. It is the first book that I have read from this author, so I was excited to see what the story would be like. Levi and Brynn have a history which left them both broken-hearted. Levi went on to find success as a star hockey player in those ten years, while Brynn is looking for a fresh start after her recent divorce. When fate reintroduces them, the sparks between them reignite- but will the pain of their past keep them from taking a second chance on love? It is worth the read to find out. I loved Levi immediately, but it took a while or me to connect with Brynn. I think her mother needed a good serve of humble pie though. There were parts of the story that I would like to have known more about or see happen, such as her mother getting the karma due to her, or finding out more about Brynn’s ex and the divorce etc- but not because the story was lacking in any way, just because I am nosy lol. I have become an Astoria Bay Thunder fan now, so I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the rest of the series. Happy reading!

Sinful Vow is Book #1 in Dark Mafia Sins series by Emily Bowie. It is a dark contemporary romance with an enemies to lovers element, mafia politics, danger, drama, tension, suspense, action, angst, emotion, banter, and family rivalry- all wrapped up into a bit of an intense and gritty read. I am loving this series, even though I came into it a little backwards by reading book two first, but luckily the stories read well as standalones. Wildcat is the first book in the MetroGen After Hours series by Carina Alyce. I had not read any of this author’s work before, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in. But the blurb read well and intrigued me enough to want to buy a copy to explore. What I found was a great firefighter romance with hot and steamy details as well as emotion, humour, banter, angst, push-pull, tension, suspense, and drama. Leslie McClunis feels she’s had to work twice as hard as the men in her field and has to prove herself every day. She works hard and plays harder, enjoying her independence. She definitely doesn’t want or need a relationship tying her down. Then she has a one-night-stand with a hot football star who has other ideas. Will he be the man who finally tames this wildcat? You will have to read the story to find out all the interesting and steamy details for yourself. This is a very quick and easy read, with just under 200 pages I zipped through the story very quickly. I did enjoy the story as it is but would have loved to read a longer version with even more details and what is here already being more fleshed out. I also learned that ‘wildcat’ isn’t only a term used to describe our main female character, it is also a football term used to describe a play (offensive)where the ball is snapped to a player other than the quarterback. And now I will definitely be looking for the rest of this series to read Happy reading!

How does this series just get better and better with each new addition? Well, because Amy McKinley is a talented author who really knows her stuff, and is an absolute Rockstar in her field, that’s how! I never have to consider whether I will read one of her books, it is always going to be a massive YES from me. So, I happily snatched up a copy of this book as soon as it hit the shelves and jumped right in, inhaling the story in a matter of hours. And yes, as you might have guessed, it’s another winning entry in this fantastic series!!! Savage Secrets is the fourth thrilling book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. As with the other instalments, this is a riveting mafia romance- romantic suspense at it’s best, with an action-packed plot this story is definitely one you won’t want to miss. The View From Here by Leon Stevens is a really original and interesting sci-fi adventure story. I know this author for his gift with poetry, so this was an unexpected find that immediately captured my attention. This story is fantastically detailed and descriptive- with wonderful worldbuilding that really brought everything to life. I can see it making a great movie, too. We meet Thomas who is setting off for a day of hiking- but he could never have predicted what awaited him on the trail, soon finding himself thrust into an adventure that spans time and place and testing him on many levels. With different dimensions, dramatic developments, friendship, intrigue, survival, and a crazy adventure- everything Thomas thought he knew will be turned upside down- making for an unputdownable read. Wild Hare’s Daughter by Laura Koerber is an interesting and original dystopian story with magical realism, a near future setting, politics, crime, secrets, fairies, tension, imagination, and intriguing characters- all playing out in a small town setting. Even though this could be read as a standalone, I really wish I had read Wild Hare first before starting this book, as I feel that knowing what happened there would have enhanced my reading experience of this book even more. So, I plan to dive into Wild Hare to remedy that oversight asap.

The Bear at Midnight is the fourth intriguing instalment in the Orkneyinga Murders series by Lexie Conyngham. As with the previous books, this is an intriguing historical crime and investigation story- a bit of a whodunit murder mystery that kept me guessing the whole way through. Again, this story is set in Scotland in the age of the Vikings- with characters we have met previously. And as I have come to expect, this talented author pulled me into the story and transported me through time with her vivid descriptions and detailed storytelling. This book could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the previous books, as they are definitely worth the read, too. Looking forward to more.

To Be A Fae Guardian is the second book in the Realm Chronicles by Tricia Copeland. This book continues the story we started in book one, so if you have yet to read the first book, I highly recommend that you do before beginning this one as that first book really lays strong foundations and provides character introductions, storyline, and other important information that you will need in order to fully appreciate this second instalment. Having read quite a few of Ms. Copelands books, I can always count on her to provide an engrossing read, and this story was no exception. As with the first book, this is an awesome fantasy adventure, with faeries, good vs evil, fantastic world building, magic, action, mystery, drama, danger, secrets, prophecy and plenty of surprising developments. After everything that happened in the first book, Titania has a lot weighing on her shoulders. With an evil force ready to strike, it is up to Titania to ensure that evil doesn’t triumph. But things won’t be easy, with challenges aplenty- which definitely makes for a gripping read. I am hoping that the author has plenty more planned for the Realm Chronicles, as I am well and truly hooked!

Imperfectly Yours is the second book in the Titans of Manhattan series by Anise Storm. After reading the first book in this fantastic series, and loving every word, I was really excited to get my hands on this second instalment. I had really high expectations after book one, so I am happy to say that this was every bit as good as I hoped for, if not better (even though the author did have me more than a little worried there for a while). We met Anton and Elsa in Book One, Conveniently Yours, as Anton is one of Caspian’s best friends. So, I was already intrigued by these two characters before I had even opened the book. Anton and Elsa have the fairytale romance, and life is good- but are the foundations of their relationship strong enough to withstand the cracks that start to appear and threaten to crumble their perfect fairytale. Well, no spoilers hers, but I certainly couldn’t put the book down until I had read every single word and found out how it all played out in the end. Looking forward to the rest o the series! Face the Fire: A Romantic Paranormal Suspense Novel is the fifth Book in the Moore Family Saga series by Michele Sims. Having enjoyed the other books in the series I was happy to dive right into this story and find out what it had in store for us, and the characters. I really recommend reading the previous (four) instalments before starting on this one as they contain important storyline details that will help you fully appreciate the characters and help you to really understand this story, as well as the series as a whole. This is an exciting romantic suspense with paranormal elements, magical realism, secrets, musical empire, fame, success, family, danger, emotion, and more. Miles and Bella seem to have the world at their feet, but will the cost be too high a price to pay? It’s well worth the read to find out… Another superb addition to the series! Happy reading!

As with the previous two books, this is a time travel romance, with fantasy, action, adventure, danger, tension, drama, mystery, suspense, history, and more. If you haven’t read the previous two books, I highly recommend that you do so before starting on this book, as there is a lot of important storyline and relevant information there that will better help you appreciate and understand the storyline, characters, and other interesting details. Just when the future seemed so hopeful and things looked more settled for Will and Maggie, fate throws them another curve ball- and the results could see them separated forever. What happens? Well, you really should read all the intriguing details for yourself. The story continues in the next instalment- so bring on ‘With Fire and Sword’ (Book #4)… Happy Reading!

Ms. Mackie speaks from her own experience, sharing methods that have worked for her. The guide is easy to follow and understand, with simple suggestions that are fairly easy to implement. This guide may be aimed at authors and their books, but a lot of this information could also be useful in selling other products too. Informative and thought-provoking!

Theodore’s Ring: A BWWM Action Adventure Romance by Stacy-Deanne is a fun and entertaining story, I only wish it had been a little longer. The blurb held all the promise of action, adventure, mystery romance, danger, drama, survival, tension, a thrilling quest, and hidden agendas. All the ingredients that I love to find in a great story. And while I did enjoy the story, I feel that it needed to be a bit longer and more developed in order to get the full potential and impact of the adventure. Some parts seemed rushed, while other parts lagged, or simply lacked the detail and description I would have loved to see/know more of. But, overall, it was a fun read!
