Swipe Right to Bite is the sixth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is such a fun, sexy, and humorous Paranormal Romance. I have loved every instalment in this wonderful series- which just seems to get better and better with each new addition. This book was a particularly fun read. With her popular dating app for the supernatural trending in New Orleans, Katrina is enjoying her success. Her plans are coming together nicely- but with her freedom still at stake she will need to maintain her fasting vow- not so easy for a succubus with quite a healthy appetite. But as fate would have it, she is soon thrown a curveball, in the form of a sexy incubus named Gabe. The sparks fly and things get quite heated- making for an intriguing and very fun read. Rebecca Steele Living the Dream is the third and final book in The Rebecca Steele series by Joanne Patterson. This is a sweet western romance- full of emotion, challenges, family, and dramatic developments. This book follows on from the previous two, and as such, I highly recommend reading the other books before starting on this one as the previous books contain important character information, back story, and other relevant details that will help you to better appreciate this story, as well as the series, as a whole. I have enjoyed this series, so finding this book is the final instalment made it a bit of bittersweet experience. Finding out how Rebecca’s story concludes was a bit of an emotional ride- the author didn’t make things easy for her- she was tested with new challenges that impacted everything she held dear. What happens makes for an emotional, angsty, and yet heartwarming read. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Patterson does next. Happy reading!

States of Grace is the first book in the Grace Locke Mystery Series and debut novel by Mandy Miller. This story pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engrossed the whole way through. I was not expecting that from a debut novel- but, as I just discovered, this author really knows how to write a compelling story- full of depth, attention to detail, vivid descriptions, palpable tension, and intrigue. Colour me hooked! Grace Locke is trying to get her life back on track after a fall from grace- but things aren’t going quite to plan. She is an attorney, living day to day, trying to make ends meet. With quite a lot of baggage, this war veteran will need to dig deep in order to overcome her demons. When a new murder case comes to her attention- things quickly become complicated- there is definitely more to the case than meets the eye. What happens makes or a thrilling read! If you love crime and investigation stories, thrillers, or mysteries with plenty of drama, intrigue, and suspense wrapped up in a tightly woven and engrossing story- then this is definitely the book for you! Unlikely to Stay is the third book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood (Ashlie Knapp). This is a great contemporary romance- a bit of a rom-com, with wonderful characters, an engaging storyline, humour, emotion, a small town setting, chemistry, drama, banter, antics, and much more. I really love this series and the wonderfully endearing characters, and I can see this making a great movie series. The author’s storytelling really brings these characters and their stories to life- and that would translate to television beautifully. I am really looking forward to seeing what ‘Unlikely to Tell” (Book #4) brings! Happy reading!

Apocalypse Thoughts: A Story for the Possible End Times (The Pox Series) by Kendra Griffin is a cleverly woven young adult dystopian post-apocalyptic fun adventure story. This has so much going on in it- but in a great way. From action, danger, and endeavouring to survive a world-ending pandemic, to self-discovery, humour, and facing the odds- this story swept me up and had me engrossed right from the beginning. Kella is a great character- she may only be seventeen- but she has the presence of someone much older. She was really easy to like, and I quickly became invested in her and the outcome of the story. I didn’t realise coming into this book that it is the fifth book in the series, but thankfully I never felt lost, or like I was missing anything vitally important by not having read the previous books first. But having said that, my curiosity has definitely been sparked and I will absolutely be going back to explore the other instalments asap- I’m excited by what I might find there. Happy Reading!

This right here is pure paranormal perfection!! All the stars!!!! If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. This series has definitely been a highlight of the year for me. Going into this third, and final, instalment in Tasha and Levi’s story was a little bittersweet for me. After everything that has happened, I NEEDED to know how things would play out- but at the same time I was not ready to say goodbye. I was torn between devouring the story at a breakneck speed to find out what happens- with the other part of me wanting to take things slow to savour every last little detail and make it last. Forbidden Moon is the highly anticipated third and final instalment in The Shadow Chronicles by C.R Robertson. As this story continues on from where the previous book left off, I highly recommend reading the previous two books before starting on this one. Trust me when I say you will definitely want to know all the thrilling details that happened previously, before continuing the adventure. This is a fast-paced, action-packed, adrenaline fuelled, paranormal romance, with a complex, multi-layered, and addictive storyline. The story is incredible, with vampires, Lycans, demon hellspawn, witches, sizzling chemistry, secrets, discoveries, politics, agendas, drama, danger, paranormal beings, battle scenes, violence, adventure, sizzling encounters, fated mates, and a little myth & legend. Again, Ms. Robertson has SLAYED it!!! Another spellbinding read that captured both my heart and my imagination. I just love her take on Vampire and Lycan lore, she definitely knows how to tell a completely compelling and highly exciting story. This may be the end of Levi and Tasha’s story- but the author made my day/week/month by revealing that there would be more books coming (SQUEEEEEEEEEE)- ‘spin-offs’ that are set in this ‘world’. Colour me EXCITED!!!!!! Day made!!!! I CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!! On that note, Ms. Robertson- I NEEEEEED Kimber’s story 😊 INEEEEEED Radar’s story 😊 I NEEEEEED Spencer’s story 😊 I NEEEEEED Dominic’s Story 😊 Ooooh and Tristan, and Remus, AND Oscar- 😊 I could keep going, but pretty sure you get the picture…… Seriously, if you love fantasy, paranormal romance, or just love being immersed in a spellbinding adventure- then you will really want to get your hands on this book/series, STAT! King of Pain is the fifth book in the Interstellar Rescue Series by Donna S. Frelick. This is a fantastic sci-fi romance- a bit of an enemies to lovers’ story with plenty of action, adventure, danger, corruption, rivalry, race wars, political manoeuvring, hidden agendas, sinister forces, drama, intrigue, spaceships, fight scenes, alien shifters, enhanced abilities, emotion, chemistry, and brilliant world building. I have said this a few times now, am so addicted to this series, and Ms. Frelick’s writing- I eagerly await each new release to get my ‘fix’. I can always count on this talented author to deliver a riveting story, and this book definitely didn’t disappoint on any level. But, as expected, Ms. Frelick crafted some tense scenes that had me on the edge of my seat devouring the pages to discover how things would play out. Her clever mind was always several steps ahead, crafting plenty of dramatic twists and unexpected developments that kept me guessing and glued to the pages. The story is told from multiple points of view, which made the story even more intriguing, and I loved that I not only got to meet some very interesting new characters, but also got to spend time with some characters we have met (and loved) in previous instalments. Can’t get enough of this series! A must read! Just brilliant! Highly recommended!

Tally and the Angel: Book Two, Canada by Eleanor Dixon continues the adventure we started in book one, following Tally and Jophiel as they brave their latest adventure. We met Tally when she inherited a necklace that contained wonderful surprise- finding the necklace housed an Angel, Jophiel- and they soon found themselves thrust on an adventure to save the day. Well, this book sees them set off on a new quest to break a curse in a race against time with life or death consequences. As with the first book, this is a fun Middle school age children’s story by Eleanor Dixon- a paranormal fantasy, with adventure, action, mystery, wolves, hunters, challenges, mythical beings, danger, drama, lots of detailed descriptions, and much more. This story may be aimed at a younger audience, but I feel it could be enjoyed by all ages. Happy reading.

Holiday Hope is the first book in the Holiday Express series by Shanna Hatfield. I really enjoyed this delightful historical holiday romance. It is such a wonderfully woven story with endearing characters who I was immediately invested in, as well as the outcome of their story. But the story isn’t just a light and fluffy romance- it has plenty of depth, tension, angst, drama, danger, and emotion. This was nothing like I expected- but in the best possible way! Cora Lee finds herself alone in the world, struggling after the death of her beloved parents. She dreams of a better life- so takes a chance and answers an ad for a mail-order-bride. This sets her off on a cross-country journey to meet her perspective husband- only when she arrives at the station he is nowhere to be seen, sending his father to meet her instead. Cora Lee is warmly welcomed by the rest of her betrothed’s family and immediately feels like she has found ‘home’. But when her groom seems to want to avoid anything to do with her, Cora can’t help but wonder what is really going on. Throw in some train robbers, dramatic developments, danger, family, friendship, intrigue, mystery, and emotion- and this story becomes quite unputdownable! After reading this first captivating instalment in the series, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the books will bring! I will leave you here as I have a date with Book #2! Happy Reading!

Master Trentino is the third book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. As with the previous two books, this is a delicious, dark, paranormal romance- with vampires, shifters, witches, conspiracy, hidden agendas, an underworld society, politics, the supernatural, magic, danger, tension, intrigue, drama, emotion, fantastic world-building, twits, dramatic turns, and a whole lot of sizzlingly HOT details. This book could be read as a standalone, but as there are interconnected details, as well as recurring characters that span the three books (so far)- I really recommend reading the first two book so you know what has happened previously, as they contain information that I feel would help you to better appreciate this book, and the series as a whole. In a turn of events, Master Trentino feels he has no option but to turn Angel (a psychic) in order to save her. This sets them off on an action-packed adventure, facing danger to uncover corruption and hunt down enemies. Angel will need to decide who to trust and what side to choose. Things get complicated and their chemistry isn’t the only thing simmering in this intriguing underworld society. What transpires definitely makes for riveting reading! I am really excited to find that there are 12 books planned for this series! Colour me happy! Bring on Book Four!!! Happy Reading!

Limbo by Laura Koerber is a story of discovery- with a combination of the supernatural, some spirituality, life lessons, revelations, exploring the afterlife, touring the in-between (Limbo), quirky characters, and plenty of originality. I have come to expect the unexpected from this author, and this story is definitely unique. We get a front row seat to all the goings-on in Limbo (yes, THE ‘Limbo’)- only, who knew it was actually a ghost town, literally. When Alyse dies and gets stuck in Limbo she ends up on a bit of a journey of discovery, along with other residents of Limbo. What ensues made for a unique read. The story is told from multiple POV’s which were a little confusing and distracting at times- and left me with a few questions. But, overall, the story and characters kept me interested enough to want to see what happens in the end. I wonder what she has in store for us next?

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance by T. Christensen is a dramatic story with a friends to enemies to lovers/bully romance- with betrayal, emotion, angst, tension, intrigue, and much more. What happens when two neighbours become best friends with so much potential for more, only for betrayal and miscommunication to ruin everything. Things take a dramatic turn when one forms an agenda to make the other’s life a living hell- and things get pretty intense. The story is has some interconnected details and other interesting touches. The tension was quite palpable and I’m pretty sure the author took delight in toying with my, and the characters, emotions. We were put through the wringer, that’s for sure! There were times I wanted to scream and shake the characters, and other times I didn’t like them very much. But, as always, the author delivered an intriguing read. Happy Reading!

Ember’s Secret is the first book in the Solstice Quartet by Catherine Peace. This is a very original fantasy story with paranormal elements, shifters, magic, family, food, secrets, danger, superb world building, and interesting quirky characters. This wonderful story is woven with, and around, Maori myths and legends. The fact that the story incorporates Maori myths, culture, and cooking really made this story stand out from the crowd and gave it an extra element of interest. I had not read any of the authors work before, so I really didn’t know what to expect- but I love a good fantasy and this one promised to be a little different, what I discovered has certainly piqued my interest and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Embracing Jared is the third book in the Thrill of The Chase series by Anna Paige. It is a superb Rockstar romance, drama, chemistry, sparks, tension, brotherhood, family, and plenty of emotion. As with the other two books in the series, it could be read as a standalone, but in doing that, I feel you would be doing yourself a disservice, as there is a lot of information and important details in the other books that would highly enhance your reading experience of this third instalment, as well as the series as a whole. Again, the author has upped the ante and delivered a captivating story that enhances this fantastic series. It is Rockstar romance done right- with all the author’s clever touches and original take on the topic. I couldn’t have loved the characters, storyline and details any more than I did. So, if you love Rockstar romance, contemporary romance, a captivating story, and endearing slightly flawed characters- then you really should do yourself a favour and grab yourself a copy of this book (and series) and fall in love with these wonderful characters, stories, and talented author. This book has only reinforced the fact that I am addicted to the ‘Thrill of the Chase’ and am an Anna Paige junkie- I soooo can’t wait for my next fix!

What happens when two worlds collide. One a beautiful shaman and the other a rare and powerful dragon shifter. Fate is about to take them on the adventure of a lifetime. No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily appears to be the author’s debut novel. It is an historical women’s fiction story that will tug on your heartstrings. It is set in the 1960’s and follows several characters through their experiences as unwed mothers in a time when society frowned upon such things. This story is about unwed mothers, pregnancy, societal expectations, shame, scandal, bigotry, fear, abuse, challenges and adoption (forced and otherwise). This was a bit of a confronting story for me, and my heart ached for what the characters endured.

The Traveler is the first book in The Traveler series, and debut novel, by Deborah Dugan. It is a fantasy/sci-fi with time travel, adventure, originality, imagination, and a touch of the bizarre. What a wonderfully strange and unusual tale this turned out to be- in a good way. I am still thinking about it all this time later- so it definitely made an impression. It was quite unexpected- as I dove in blind, without reading the blurb- just going off the title, cover, and the fact that it showed up as a recommended sci-fi read. So, it took a beat or two to get my head around what I was reading. The Traveler is an ancient ‘being’ who has travelled the universe and taken on various forms over time, as a means to gaining knowledge and power. We take a front row seat as he tells his lengthy story to Tristan, a human, with a few issues of his own. What happens when The Traveler finishes his story? Well worth the read to find out. I knew as soon as I saw that K.G Fletcher had written a Christmas romance, that it would be wonderful- and she didn’t let me down. I would love to see this made into a movie- it’s such a sweet, swoony, and steamy story that made my little heart go pitter-pat! I love everything about the Christmas season- but my favorite part is being able to binge Christmas books and movies- and this book has zipped to the top of the list as one of my firm favourites. Finding out that it is the fifth book in the Reigning Hearts series was just icing on the cake for me. Murder Off Route 82 is the third book in the Eve Sawyer Mystery Series by Jane Suen. This series follows Eve Sawyer who is a college journalism student with quite a talent for sniffing out a good story, and a bit of danger in the process. This story picks up just after the events in Book Two. Eve is back at university after her summer holiday at Lolly Beach- but we all know how that turned out- instead of relaxing she and her friends spent their time solving a murder mystery. Eve is glad to be back and is excited to start the new school year and get back to ‘normal’. But she’s barely had time to unpack before she’s drawn into a missing persons case that will have Eve racing to follow the leads to uncover what happened to the missing student. Throw in a few dead ends, a ticking clock, danger, an agenda, secrets, lies, and a bit of a twist, and we get a great little suspenseful cozy mystery. If you have not read the previous two books, I recommend that you do, as even though you could read this book without knowing what happened previously- the first two books really help to set the scene, introduce characters, and contain interesting information that I feel will enhance your reading experience of this instalment. Black Canvas by Laura Rossi. Well, that was completely unexpected read- in a really great way! This is a completely mindboggling and gripping psychological thriller that had me ensnared pretty much from the beginning. As I had not read any of this author’s work before, I really wasn’t expecting such a cleverly woven story- so colour me impressed! It was a little slow to get going, but soon took off and I had to strap in for one heck of a mind-bending ride. The story is quite original, beautifully dark, complex, tense, intriguing, unpredictable, and entirely unforgettable. I would love to go into detail here- but the story is so cleverly stitched together that I think you should dive in and let the author, and her twisted tale, surprise you. So, no spoilers from me. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to exploring more from this talented author! Happy reading!

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds series by Bree Moore. It is a fantastic urban fantasy with an intriguing and highly original plot, wonderful world building, adventure, magic, the paranormal, mystery, danger, action, emotion, agendas, heists, high stakes, a touch of romance, different realms, and an intense race against time with life on the line. I was really excited to read this story as the blurb sold me on the book in just the first few sentences. I set off on this adventure with high expectations- and the author didn’t disappoint! Her writing is so wonderfully detailed and descriptive- the story was so easy to visualise- coming to life before my eyes. It is quite original with quirky/interesting characters that definitely added an extra element of intrigue to the storyline. This would make a really great movie or television series!!! There is no way I am missing an instalment of this series- I will be following it through to the end. And I have found another author to add to my must read list! Happy reading!

Dead Sound is the first book in the Things Unseen series by Anise Eden. Psychotherapist Neve Keane though the worst was behind her as she embarked on her first day back at work after recovering from a stabbing attack. Things proceed to get even more worrying when it’s revealed that she’s needed to help prevent an impending apocalypse. Are they crazy? Neve soon finds herself embroiled in a dangerous mystery, where history collides with the present and conspiracies are rife. With politics, sinister intent, and a ticking clock- this romantic suspense takes an intense turn in this edge of your seat race against time. This psychological thriller had me avidly reading, right from the start, trying to figure out what was going, leaving my mind whirling with several possible scenarios, and wondering just how things would play out. So, after finishing this and having read most of Ms. McKinley’s books now, I have come to the conclusion that she could write the phone book and make it addictive reading! Seriously!!! If you have yet to pick up one of her many books, what are you waiting for? You will kick yourself for missing out this long. Born in Darkness is another gem in Ms. McKinley’s crown- a stellar mafia romance, it is the third book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. A masterfully woven romantic suspense story with action, violence, mafia politics, second chances, family dynamics, friendship, chemistry, sizzle, secrets, drama, intrigue, tension, and edge of your seat developments. This book is Stefano and Emiliana’s story, I was excited to dive in and honestly say Ms. McKinley doesn’t rest on her laurels here, she ups the ante yet again, grabbing me right from the get-go and had me flipping the pages to find out what happens, all while proving once again that this series just gets better and better with each new release. If you haven’t read the previous two books, I highly recommend that you do, as not only are they fantastic stories in their own rights, they also contain important information that will help you better appreciate this story, as well as building a bigger picture. I love this series and the wonderfully complex characters that take centre stage here. I have a serious addiction to Ms. McKinley’s stories and need my next fix stat- Book #4 can’t come soon enough and looks set to be brilliant!!! Take my word for it- if you love mafia romance, romantic suspense, wonderfully developed characters, depth, and addictive reading- then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story or series!!! Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade. This a new-to-me author, so I was excited to dive into her story and see what she could do. Being a romantic suspense, this book promised all the ingredients that I look for in an enticing read. The story is a well woven with a tight and intriguing plot. There’s a crime and investigation element, with mystery, drama, danger, chemistry, and plenty of sizzle. Lexi is a homicide detective with the reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon. She is a woman on a mission as she pursues a child killer and is determined to take him down. Xavier is on an undercover assignment to investigate whether Lexi is fit for duty. He is placed as her partner and things get interesting very quickly- what ensues makes for a very engrossing read. This may have been my first read by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last! This was such a bittersweet read for me. Having read all the previous instalments, I connected with this band of brothers and looked forward to following each one as they got their own book. So, knowing this was the last book in the series was a little sad- I was sooo not ready to say goodbye…. But at the same time, I desperately wanted to know how things would finally play out, but more importantly, getting a front row seat to the ‘Oz’ show- and what a fantastic show it was!! Ms. Kells definitely had me completely engrossed in the story- I devoured the book in a couple of hours, just so I could find out what happens. King Bastard is the sixth and final book in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. It is an addictive romantic suspense- full of action, adventure, tension, danger, chemistry, intrigue, gripping developments, emotion, drama, complex characters, sizzling encounters, romance, family dynamics, agendas, and so much more. As expected, the story is superbly written, with a complex and multi-layered storyline that was so much more than I anticipated. What a way to wrap up the series! I loved every intense minute!! I highly recommend this book- but if you have yet to read the rest of the series, I really recommend that you do as each book helps to build a bigger picture- trust me- you will find that one story is not enough! Prepare to develop an India Kells addiction! Even though this instalment wraps up this series and I am sad to say goodbye, I know Ms. Kells will have something amazing in the works that will be just as enjoyable and addictive as this series has been. She never fails to deliver the goods! So excited to see what she does next! Happy reading!

Red’s Peril Part 2: The Prez’s Old Lady is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC Vegas series (which is a spin off to the original Stan’s Devils series) by the talented Manda Mellett. MC romance is definitely Ms. Mellett’s wheelhouse- but I imagine she would excel at any genre she chose to write. This is the second part to the story we started in book one- so if you haven’t read book one yet I highly recommend that you do so you don’t miss out on important details. As I said earlier, this is a fabulous MC romance with plenty of interesting elements, quirky characters, edge of your seat developments, drama, twists, agendas, mystery, friendship, camaraderie, emotion, and more… After reading the first book, I was well and truly hooked, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on part two. This was everything I could have hoped for, and more. Looking forward to reading ‘Warts an’ All’ (coming soon)…

The Heart of a Hussar is the first book in The Winged Warrior series by Griffin Brady. As this is my first read from this author, I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but the blurb sounded intriguing, and as it promised to be a little different rom the other books I have been reading of late, I snapped up a copy and set off to join the adventure. This proved to be a very original story full of historical detail, action, adventure, romance, drama, and more. I loved the interesting characters, as well as the attention to detail and wonderfully descriptive scenes that really helped to bring the whole story to life. The historical detailing pulled me in and transported me to the 17th century- where I was immersed in the story as everything unfolded. There were a few parts in the story where the pace dragged- but this didn’t affect my overall enjoyment of the story… It is apparent that the author has spent a lot of time researching the era and it shows in her attention to detail. This book ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, and everything is et to continue in Book #2, which I will be diving into asap. Happy Reading!

Kissing Darkness is the fifth book in the Dark Spell series by Isra Sravenheart. It is a superb addition to the series- a imaginative (dark-ish) fantasy with witches, magic, drama, deception, agendas, and much more. I have followed this uniquely original series right from the beginning, and the author never fails to surprise me, in a god way. Whenever I think I know what will happen- she twists it up a bit and leaves me wondering once more. This book ramps things up a bit, and things are not necessarily what they seem. I can’t wait to see where we go from here. I you haven’t read the previous four books yet, I highly recommend reading the other books before starting on this one, as knowing what happens previously will help you better understand and appreciate this book, as well as the series as a whole. Priscida Finds Greatness: In Herself and In Others is a lovely children’s story by Constance Mays. This is a such a charming story with wonderful messages about finding greatness not only in others, but most importantly, in yourself. I feel it encourages self-esteem and encourages the reader to find ‘greatness’ in small things. Greatness comes in many forms. Everyone is special in their own way. By following Priscida, the alley cat on her adventures- we are shown how to look at life with a better understanding. I liked Priscida and thought she was a great character- she got her message across wonderfully well. A lovely story with a wonderful reminder/lesson.
