Twisted Throttle (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Noah is all grown up and is a big heathy strong man now. He’s capable of just about anything as the new enforcer of the Satan’s Devils. What happens when Throttle ( Noah ) goes to the Wheel Inn and runs into an old friend Gwen? Technically she was his sisters close friend from childhood. Now both Noah and Gwen are all grown up and mature.
Throttle likes to get around and ever see the same girl twice but one girl doesn’t seem to get the message.

Gwen is attacked badly one night walking to her car after leaving her shift at the Wheel Inn. Being the Wheel Inn belongs to the Satan’s Devils it is up to them to figure things out and try to find out who attacked Gwen.

The Dray twins Cedar and Oak are nothing more then a thorn in their side. Are they capable of what has been going on? The attack was only the beginning. So much more happens as days pass. There is so much going on in this book, you can’t blink or you may miss something.

I’m not a real big fan of MC books but this book kept me interested and reading more pages per sitting. I absolutely love Throttle and what happens in this book. I can’t go into detail without giving to much away but it was a real good read!

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (The Cecily Taylor Series #2)In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in the Cecily Taylor series. This is a well written YA book that is perfect for the younger fans of romance. I really enjoyed how this book looked at things from the perspective of what happens after the HEA. It’s not often that you get to see that from characters in depth and it was great to be able to revisit these ones.
I thought the story was well written and had a great flow about it. I enjoyed getting to know these characters even more and felt like I was part of Cecily’s journey. This is and overall enjoyable book and definitely worth your time.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Spiteful Punks: Dolls and douchebags part one by Madeline Fay is a dark reverse harem bully romance with plenty of triggers in this taboo tale. The story depicts bullying, abuse, and torment- so if these topics cause you distress, then this is not the book for you.
I love a dark and twisted story, but unfortunately this did fall a little short for me. There is a lot of potential here for greatness, but it just missed the mark. There is however, an angsty and emotive story here- I just wish I loved it more than I do.
It has piqued my interest, so I will keep an eye out for the next book to see what the author has in store there.

Thank you, Madeline Fay!

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the second book in The Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager.
This is a little more angsty than the first book, with anxiety, misunderstandings, and jealousy, the order of the day. It is a YA romance story- with teenage drama, friendship, angst, jealousy, and first love.
Again, as with the first book, this is definitely suited to a younger audience, that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy YA stories, because I do- but I found this one a little too teenage drama-ish for me to fully connect with or appreciate as much as I would have liked to.
Still, I am glad I read it and will check out Book #3 to see what happens next.

Thank you, Krysten Lindsay Hager!

To be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland – Review by Angela Hayes

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles #1)To be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

To Be A Fae Queen is the first book in the Realm Chronicles by Tricia Copeland. Having read quite a few of Ms. Copelands books, I can always count on her to provide an engrossing read, and this story was no exception.
It is a little different from the other books of Tricia Copeland’s that I have read, in that this is an epic fantasy adventure, with faeries, magic, action, mystery, drama, challenges, deceit, lies, danger, good vs evil, self-discovery, coming of age, and fantastic world building. I was swept up into this adventure and loved every moment.
Titania is a great character, well-crafted, and with the presence, strength, and complexities I would have expected from a much older character. It was easy to forget, at times, that she is only a teenager. The secondary characters were given just as much attention and development and definitely added to the story.
Being handed the crown of the realm at only 15 years old was just the beginning of Titania’s epic adventure. She is going to have to embrace all her training if she is to overcome the many obstacles stacked against her, as well as figuring out who she can trust along the way- what ensues makes for a captivating story.
Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, Tricia Copeland!

Wolf’s Beautiful Beast (The Untold Stories Book 3) by Suzanna Lynn – Review by Angela Hayes

Wolf's Beautiful Beast (The Untold Stories, #3)Wolf’s Beautiful Beast by Suzanna Lynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wolf’s Beautiful Beast is the third instalment in The Untold Stories series by Suzanna Lynn. Having read the first two books, and loving them, I really couldn’t wait to dive into this story and continue the adventure/s.
As with the previous two books, this is such a sublime young adult fantasy, and again, it is a mash-up of several classic fairytales, giving us quite a different version and perspective of the stories we all thought we knew so well.
With Red, Rapunzel, and Lycus headed to the Land of Oz to confront the wicked witch- things don’t quite go according to plan- making for a wonderfully fresh and exciting read.
Again, I love all the intricate, clever, and interconnected details that really bring the story, and series, to life.
I can’t wait for the next book to see where we go from here.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Suzanna Lynn!

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Felicia Bates

Forged by Secrets is the third book in Amy McKinley’s Deadly Isles Special Ops series and much like the two books prior, it did not disappoint.
Forged by Secrets can be read by itself but as with most series I’ve read, I recommend starting from the very beginning. If you haven’t read Amy McKinley yet, just know that once you start, you won’t want to miss a thing.
This book has everything you could ask for. A great female lead character, relatable characters with great chemistry and a storyline that keeps you interested from the very first to last page. Another great read by the author, 4 stars.

Sons of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus & Cam Johns

This is the first book I’ve read by Jesus and John’s. Sons of Sindicato is a great short steamy read and will leave you wanting more.

Braelynn is a lawyer and is trying to make Partner. When things go south with one of the partners; things really go south. She isn’t afraid of what’s going to happen as long as she has her secret love standing behind her. The quote I chose for Braelynn is: “What are you nuts! You don’t put sauce on chicken cutlets.”

Seth is one of the sons of the Head of Sindicato. He’s screwing the help which is a big no in his dad’s world. When he walks into a lawyers office things change. The quote I chose for Seth is:“I said f-ing stop! Wexler got what he deserved. I would have done it myself if I walked in on him doing something to you.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romantic Suspense lovers.

This story brings back the mystery I love and a woman with walls stronger than the China wall.

I was also waiting for Tyler’s story after the first two books. He has been a character I am drawn to. Love reading his story and him fighting to protect the women he loves and making her bring down that wall and trust him.

Very cute story, 10 out of 10 if I could.

Scorching Hot Mess is a rom com by Brooke May. This is not the first book I have read by Ms. May, but is my new favorite by her. This story sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down until I finished. The characters are believable, the dialogue is witty, and the romance is scorching hot. After a drunken night out, Willow finds herself with four napkins with numbers on them and no other memories of the night. It is hilarious watching her try to figure it out. I truly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it if rom com and romance are your thing.

Twisted Throttle (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third  book in the Satan Devil’s Second Generation series. I have read the original books and as the title suggests this follows on as this story is about one of the children of the original member of the MC. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone but personally I would read them in order as you then get the feel for the characters and you understand the background.

In this story we find Noah( Throttle). Now he is all grown up and a fully patched member of the Satan Devils as their enforcer. His life is his club. He doesn’t want a relationship or to settle down. He’s happen with random one night stands and he makes sure the women he’s with know that.

However things change when someone seems to have a vendetta against him. After his old school friend is attached and her house trashed Throttle and the brothers set out to find out who is behind this.

Is someone hurting Gwen to get to him? Who would dare mess with a Satan Devil?

As they try to solve this the relationship between Throttle and Gwen grows stronger. Could there be something to having an old lady after all?

With danger, Romance, and mystery it will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

Four Stars

Electric Temptation is the fifth book in The Protectors series by Toya Richardson. This is not my instant book by Ms. Richardson, but it is the first book in this series that I have read. I had no trouble following the story, however I’m going to read the rest of the books in this series. Ms. Richardson weaves a wonderful story full of action, adventure, witches, elemental powers and wraps it in a second chance romance. The world building is amazing. I found myself lost in this book and couldn’t put it down until the end. Delilah is one of my favorite characters is all of the books I have read this year. Delilah and Mason throw off some serious heat. If you love paranormal or even just romance, I highly recommend this book.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Lizzie Chapman Gough

This book was very emotional and contains quite a hard hitting story line. I found the female protagonist a strong character despite what she had been through and although I didn’t love this book I am intrigued to know if she does get the revenge she seeks. I enjoyed how fast paced the story was and found this helped keep me focused on the plot and stopped my mind from wavering.
My reasons for not liking this were mainly that as the plot was so hard hitting and emotional I found the racy, sexual parts out of place with the general plot. I also found that the sexual encounters were overly descriptive but that’s my personal taste. I struggled with the narration as I found the narration strangely robotic but again that is my personal taste.

Twisted Throttle (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Erin Wolf

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Twisted Throttle: Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3 by Manda Mellett, 5 stars.

Let me start out by saying that I am not a big contemporary romance reader. I started the original series on a whim, looking for something different. I got hooked and have been every since. The fact that she makes me want to pick up book after book, not putting them down until I am done is saying somethjng. This author’s storytelling is so compelling and amazing!

While each book has been about a couple, each and every one is different, with different things going on to make it more suspenseful too. Since we are now on the second generation, you may remember Throttle from previous books. If you have not read the series before, that’s okay, the author has made things clear enough that you can easily read it by itself. We learn much more about Throttle and why he has become the man he is today. Learning about Gwen was great too. They are both very strong characters. You also see them grow as the story progresses, learning more about themselves and each other.

While this story centers around them, there are other things in play. It’s obvious from the beginning that there is something strange going on. There are quite a few twists and turns along the way to throw us off track too. That’s what makes this series so good. Oh and don’t worry, you will see many characters from both generations return, as well as some new ones.

If you are fan of MC romance that also has suspense thrown in, this book is for you.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

To Be A Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland was a great read! This book drew me in the first page and I had so much trouble putting it down. The imagery was incredible, and I felt like I was right there in the pages with Titania on her quest to become (and stay) queen. The characters were great as well. I’ve read several different fae books but I’ve never read any quite like this. In some aspects I felt like I was reading a Sarah J. Maas novel, and others it just felt so unique I have no comparisons. I can’t wait to read more in the future because I definitely am not ready to leave this fae world yet!

OH MY GOODNESS!! This trilogy didn’t disappoint!! I love how they can be read as standalones but I highly recommend reading all three books, you won’t be able to put the book down!

Malina
Safeguarded from a past that haunts her but she can’t tell anyone about it. She suffers in silence. Working the SEALs was the greatest job she could have ever dreamed of, but working with Tyler Hale, her crush from high school was harder than she thought. Despite their constant banter she always tried to keep him at arms length she wasn’t willing to let anyone else in. But after a night a Vegas and finding out some very surprising news, only to Tyler to drop another bomb on her lap. She returned the favor by revealing her secret. To top it all off she was on the run because someone was trying to frame her something she didn’t do and the only person she thought of to help her was Tyler, so she escaped to his island. Now it was time to trust someone with all her truths, including her past that she never spoke of. But in the end can her and Tyler have a true relationship? Is he willing to believe her and help her? Is she willing to love for the first in a long time?

Tyler
Working along side Malina could sometimes be touture but he lived for getting under her skin, it was the only the way he knew how to interact with her. He knew she had a lot of sadness in her, that much he remembered from high school. Now was the chance to make her his. She was the one that got away, he wasn’t ready for a committed relationship, but now he more than ever. After Malina shows up on his island he’s surprised but happy. But finding out why she is there and how she is being framed. He is all in to save and protect the woman that he loves. But one night during a game of cards/truths, secrets are revealed. But first he has to prove her innocence. In the end will he be able to keep her? Can he save her?

This book was so amazing! I didn’t want the story to end. This is book has surprises around every corner. Tyler and Malina have always wanted each other but it time to make that dream a reality, after and when they conquer the threat on Malina’s life. He will do anything to ensure her safety.

I was pulled in right from the beginning, the author does a great job with her writing.
This is Tyler and Malina’s story, I was excited to get another brother’s story.

Malina has had a crush on Tyler for years, when they end up working together all the memories come flooding back. She knows he isn’t the commitment type so she doesn’t get her hopes up. There is a twist after a drunken evening in Vegas. Things take an even bigger twist when she is accused of treason. She turns to Tyler for help, will he be able to help her? Can these two have a HEA?

Overall this was a thrilling read, we get steamy moments, violence, action and so much more. We also get several twists and turns that added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great military romance this is the one for you. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Two Hearts One Stone by Leslie Scott is book one of the Boots and Babies series.

Stone and Emmersyn don’t exactly get off on the best foot. Stone doesn’t really do commitment which Emmersyn finds out right from the get go. Emmersyn has one goal and she won’t be sidetracked even for Stone that is until he needs her help and she sees a different side to him. Will Emmersyn be able to look passed Stone’s past with woman or will she constantly wait for the other shoe to drop? Will Stone be able to convince her to take a chance?

I really enjoyed this book. I devoured it! Stone is more than meets the eye. Emmersyn is cautious but she’s sassy which made reading fun! I highly recommend!
