4.5 stars Drag Me Down is the fourth exciting action-packed tale in this unique Sci Fi romance tale. I think this one is my favourite so far. Landra takes her readers on a thrilling ride of their life with fast cars, artificial intelligence, cyborgs, sabotage, gangs and so much more. This fast-paced tale is full of high speed, action, suspense, adventure and revenge. Drag has been battered, bruised, betrayed and left for dead but now it’s time for revenge. They say revenge is sweet and he can almost taste it. He won’t be fooled this time. Bridget makes no bones for what she does so when she tries to infiltrate the enemy, she is thwarted at every turn but what she hadn’t counted on was her traitorous heart. They race fast and live hard doing what they love. It’s full throttle and pedal to the metal all the way. This enemies to lovers tale gives us a romance where the sexual tension is so palpable it is off the charts. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Giovanna has put these wonderful stories into a boxset for us to enjoy. No need to scramble to find the other books as they are now all together so you can go from one straight to another to enjoy.
The True Purpose of Vines is a historical romance is not really my thing, but I was pleasantly surprised by this compelling story and the authors narrative. This enemies-to-lovers story is Giovanna’s debut novel and as a first book she has done very well. It is an historical romance story set in the 1870’s in the Douro region. It vividly showcases Portugal’s rich history, culture and lore’s and traditions and winemaking mixed in with a dash of romance. Giovanna’s beautifully written tale will not only capture your heart but will leave you wanting more. With cultural differences and prejudices and a plague can one headstrong woman and one man who believes himself above others come together and find true love? Julia is the best winemaker in the region. She has everything she loves and will defend it to the bitter end, but it is all threatened by her late husbands’ debt. Griffin is an arrogant Englishman. He doesn’t want to be where he is, but trade dictates the need. However, he may just have met his match.
The Taste of Light is a historical romance tale and the second book in the series. I was pleasantly surprised by the first book and enjoyed Giovanna’s storytelling. This tale is richly told from 1872 Portugal and port to port as our characters are on the run. The story is steeped in history, traditions, cultures, a conspiracy and accusations and the love of winemaking. There is heartbreak, compassion and passion, tenderness, danger and tension, angst and animosity, chemistry and romance. We met Pedro in the first book, but he is front and centre in this book. We find that there is so much more to this character and how he has been shaped. It is hard not to like him. As long as he cannot reconcile his past and present there is no future and all that he longs for. Anne finds herself in the most unlikely of circumstances and on a ‘road trip’. She is young and naïve but is full of light and wonder but don’t let that fool you. Under it all is a woman that has a backbone and strength. Will they make it together or will the past be too much to overcome? This intricately woven tale will have you hoping against hope that love will prevail.
The Truth About Myths is a historical enemy to lover’s romance tale and the third book in fabulous The Winemakers series. It is easy to imagine the world and time period as Giovanna writes with rich historical detail, descriptions, and world building, with such passion and in a vibrant style. This Regency romance is set in Portugal and Spain amongst the Monarchy and court politics, secrets and scheming. This beautiful love story shows the difficulties and struggles they face with their relationship. There is heartbreak, compassion and passion, tenderness, danger and tension, angst and animosity, chemistry and romance. I love that it was told in dual POV as we learned so much about these characters and especially Henrique’s rakish ways. Their journey is filled with sense of duty, patriotism, and unexpected twists and turns. The swoon worthy playboy Viscount Henrique doesn’t believe in love, and he has big dreams, but he is about to be whacked over the head with it. He is witty, charming, sexy and an unapologetic rake. It’s hard not to like him. Princess Isabel is the epitome of entitled princess. She is a determined, strong and intelligent woman who cares about doing the right thing for women and is about to find out there is much more to life. I loved their wit, banter, chemistry, and the perfect amount of push pull denial and tension as they learn more about each other. I often found myself laughing at their antics or situations they found themselves in. I recommend reading this book if you are a fan of historical romance, enemies to lovers, opposites attract forced proximity stories.

Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon. It’s not a boxset of stories. They don’t have their own stories it is one story with each giving their own input, a piece of themselves collated into one intriguing story. This is a tale of forbidden love, forbidden fruit, fate, destiny, Fae, magic and lots more. It is steamy and sexy, alluring and passionate, supernatural and fantasy. This tale will not only capture your heart but will leave you wanting more. Detective Callum LeBlanc thought he had done it all, seen it all but boy was he wrong. It was always in front of him but now that his eye were open there was no going back. Not that he wanted to go back. Aeris knew it was forbidden but he was her one. The one fate had promised but could it be a cruel twist that it had bestowed upon her. This intricately woven tale will have you hoping against hope that love will prevail. Very cleverly done indeed. It is the first book in a five-part series I can’t wait to see what they bring in the other books.

As the chill of winter begins, Fay and her friends start to move to warmer waters. Along the way, Fay and her friends help other marine animals. Once they have been helped, the other animals join Fay and her friends in their pursuit of warmer waters, causing a parade of friends, and kindness. This is an adorable book for young children that not only promotes helping others, but also brings up topics like things in the oceans that are dangerous to the animals, and getting separated from your parents in child friendly ways that parents can choose to expand on as they see fit. The illustrations are beautiful. I shared this with my children (who are admittedly older than the target audience, 4th and 5th grade) and they loved it as well.

Loris Opens Up His Heart is another educational tale in the Courage Tales series that is heartfelt and full of lots of rollercoaster emotions as we travel along with a little boy in foster care. This one is going to hit you in all the feels. The story is aimed at children aged 5 – 10 years of age but we could all learn from it. This compelling tale helps tackle dealing with emotions, like when feeling alone, angry, frustrated, being scared and more. This beautiful tale is a raw and will teach children about compassion, about kindness, about courage, and about overcoming fears. I just wanted to scoop him and the others up and wrap them in love and hugs. Loris Opens Up His Heart is a must. The illustrations by Lau Frank are beautifully done.

When Timmy is tasked with watching their former teacher’s dog while she’s in the hospital, he is also given a map that should help with locating the missing time capsule. With a dog that can wag in Morse Code, and his friends by his side, Timmy embarks on an adventure around town to try and solve the mystery. What none of them could be prepared for is all of the things that discover along the way. The best thing to remember here, is to trust your instincts and be careful what you wish for. This is a fun book that is easy to read and would be good for grade school age children who like a little mystery but aren’t ready for some of the “older” series.

This is an action- romance. I was hooked the moment I started. The chemistry is there. Torn apart by family/gang drama, will they find there way back. The writing is well-done. It’s fast-paced. Bridget has to show the gang she is leading that she is boss and knows what she is doing. She is trying hard to take doing the lousy, cheating antagonist. She gets her ex, Drag, to help her. Watching their struggles as she had to earn back the respect of those she hurt, as well as Drag, showed how much she had grown. I found it to be a story of redemption. It’s a fantastic series that I’ve enjoyed so far.

This is a spicy romance between a single mom and an undercover billionaire. Cy Sweet’s family owns a theme park and the family is concerned that their employees are plotting a strike against them. Cy is the free spirit of the family who is being forced to go undercover to find the person responsible for plotting a possible strike. What Cy doesn’t realize is that he would start to like the undercover job (in the bakery), but he would really like his co-workers. One co-worker who has his attention is “The Queen” of the theme park, Jolie Cox. Jolie is a single mother of 2 children and one of them has Cystic Fibrosis. Many of the employees, including Jolie, are coming together to out the company about their lack of pay, benefits, etc. However, she also starts to like Cy or “Marcus” (his undercover name) to the point that they start a little escapade in her dressing room. This romance turns into Cy really wanting to date her and get to know her, even when he finds out about her age, her kids, etc. While Cy is making progress in finding the leader, by getting close to everyone, he also starts to realize that his parents don’t really treat their employees well enough, and that matters to him because he starts to care for these people. Will this change when they all find out who he is? Will he have to choose between family and friends when it comes down to it? I enjoyed this book. I thought the progression of events were a little unrealistic in how fast the sexual aspect took place and without much questioning. However, all the characters we likeable. I think when it came to Jolie, I gravitated toward her because I also have a child with Cystic Fibrosis. I also like how they fought for what they believed in, but then she also handled all of the craziness well and the storyline wasn’t over-dramatized. I will probably go on to read the others in the series.

I have read many anthologies and books written by dual authors but this is the first specific book that I have read with multiple authors attached. I loved the way the book was written and the story was developed. This is fantastic fantasy story with so many moving parts which made it so easy to connect with. The characters that have been created with this book are so interesting. They caught my attention immediately and I was pulled into their story effortlessly. The book is so fast paced and exciting, I was carried along with ease. This is a brilliant story and I am really looking forward to book 2.

If you love mythical romances, this is the book for you. This story follows Aeris, a fae rule breaker, who often sneaks into the human world to explore, and Callum, a detective in New Orleans, who finds out the truth about his bloodline. These two fall in love and have to battle to save their worlds. It is a great read and very well written, in my opinion. It has great character building, but world building could be improved on.

This is NOT the typical story that I reach for, but, what can I say? I was feeling extra spicy one day…This first book in the Spicetopia series is quick, fun, steamy, and just hit the spot. Cy and Jolie’s story is enticing and well-written, so I had absolutely no problem falling right into it. This is not just your normal steamy romance, but an original take that makes it interesting and is actually relatable. Even if romance isn’t what you normally pick up, I highly suggest giving this book a shot. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one!

This is book one of the Elemental Series. This is not my normal genre since I don’t get into vampires and fantasy but I figured I’d give it a try. While Aeris and Callum were good characters that have the great tension plus bad girl, good guy scenario…I just couldnt get into it. Hopefully you have better luck!

The Glow in Loretta’s Garden by Lois Wickstrom is a cute and educational children’s book that uses story telling to teach about the life cycle of fireflies. This story is the perfect way to trick your kiddos into doing something educational without their knowledge. I even learned some things that I did not know. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids! The illustrations are also stunning! 5 out of 5 stars.

I have not completed this series but I have read the first two and cannot wait to read the third. I really love the historical part of these books and I love the settings. Being set in my Favorite country to go on holiday I just find myself lost in these books and really recommend them to all.
The True Purpose of Vines Book 1:
Oh man I am in heaven. This book incompasses three of my favorite things; Portugal, History and Romance. I was just hooked and loved reading this book. I enjoyed how there was just as much drama and romance to balance out the book. I like how the characters were not simple but had depth and that the story was set in a historic setting. Historic romances are one of my favorite genres to read.
The chemistry and interaction of the characters makes the book flow. The storyline was rich and brought the characters to life. I really felt as though I was back in historic Portugal and could smell the vinyards. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
The Taste of Light Book 2:
I couldn’t ask for more in a romance book than including two of my favorite things. This book is set in my most favorite place to go to on holiday and also it’s a romance I really couldn’t ask for anything else. To make it even more it is a historical romance which is one of my top favorite genres. I like how the author is able to bring the back story to add to the present of the characters. I was really drawn into the drama of the book and hooked. I really didn’t want to put it down. The author is able to bring the characters to life and draw the reader into the adventure. I really felt as though I was right there in the midst of the drama and adventure as it unfolds. The author draws out the story and grabs you and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Oh my what more can I say? I have found yet another author and series I just want to get lost in. I really love mythical fantasy type books and this really just hit the spot. I love how the real world and mythical are combined to bring an electric atmosphere and just made me want to escape. I love how there is just the right amount of romance mixed into drama and adventure. I love how there is a sense of mystery and I cannot wait to see how the whole series will pan out. I just couldn’t put this book down and I plan on reading it again and again.

Amese of Animalis is the first book in The Borosa Legacy by MJ Murray. A wonderful start to a magical fantasy adventure intended for a younger audience, however I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book regardless of my age. Truly an enthralling and enchanting book, with beautiful imagery, world building, and fascinating characters. I felt a personal connection to Amese immediately, and couldn’t get enough of her narrative. I haven’t read from this author before, but I can guarantee I’m waiting for book two!

Touched: Elemental Passions is the first book in a series. It follows Aeris, fae rule breaker, as she ventures into the human world of New Orleans and bumps into- literally- detective Callum, who is not all that he seems. It is later revealed he is part sylph.
I did enjoy this book but I felt like there was a lot thrown in there that wasn’t all fully explained. Seemingly every mythical creature became involved, a lot of plot holes and things that just didn’t seem plausible.
**Possible spoilers**
Callum is an experienced detective and after he gets attacked by werewolves in a warehouse, saved by his fae girlfriend, then attacked again at his home by werewolves within a couple hours they make an escape to a grandmother he suddenly remembers was ‘different’. Turns out- sylph. (her house is bascially a woodland and he just never noticed…) Upon escaping, instead of focusing on answers in the short time they have (Aeris needs to be back home by dawn) they instead get intimate- a couple times- THEN come down for answers on what he is and why they’re being attacked. Maybe I’m being too pragmatic, but I don’t see a cop putting physical above ‘uhh, I’m a mythical creature and attacked by werewolves twice in one night, I need answers’.
3/4 of the way through, there is a prophecy is introduced and neither Aeris nor Callum press for any details, because the sylph who found out who he was is now leading an army of all mythical creatures he knows nothing about. Oh, and his human boss is blowing up his phone in one chapter for going MIA, and then nothing more really said about it in the next… Just a lot that doesn’t really add up from a practical/human standpoint.
The world building is great, the attention to most detail is nice, I just could not get past these plot holes and believability. :/

Being a new kid in any situation is hard, but being a new kid in foster care is even harder. Loris is the new kid, he is scared, withdrawn and angry. Even though Cam and Inaya try to befriend him he is having a hard time adapting. Will the kids give up on Loris? Will Loris come around? This author opened the eyes of many with this story. The emotion put into this story is spot on. Cam and Inaya are the best siblings and have opened their hearts to Loris, they understand what he is going through. I really enjoyed this story! The courage, love, and helping others, made this book a must have to all libraries.

This is a beautiful children’s book about Loris who struggles to open up to his new foster home. This is a fantastic book that could be used to teach compassion, kindness, courage, overcoming fears, and so much more. I really love the empathy we feel from Cam and Inaya and the vulnerability we eventually get from Loris. This is a fantastic teaching tool for kids and the illustrations are phenomenal. This is a enjoyable read full of family drama, twist and turns and romance appearing in a place you least expect it. This is the fourth book in the Olympic Peninsula series. I would recommend reading these books in order as each book focuses on a different member of the family however characters do cross over. Plus you get a better feeling and understanding for the family and the dynamics at work.
In this story we are with Jake O’Connell. Jake moved away from the family and was CEO of the family business. He has always been a driven man stopping at nothing to succeed no matter the cost. When he returns home for his brother David’s wedding he catches everyone by surprise. And they are even more surprised to hear he has resigned as CEO, rent a house and is now a writing thrillers. What has made this man do a complete 180 and change his life so drastically? With his heart heavy from the loss of his friend, resentment towards his brother for leaving him with the family business so he couldn’t pursue his own dreams and finding his muse in Chiara there is a lot of emotions to work through. This is Chiara and Jake’s story. The connection between them is instant but with Chiara being married will anything come of this flame or will it burn out? This is a emotionally rollercoaster of a story as you witness all the family angst, as well as the complicated feelings between Jake and Chiara. I have enjoyed every book in this series so far and I can’t wait for it to continue

This is a really cute kids mystery that will intrigue all ages. You have to stick with it as the beginning is a bit jumpy and has you all over the place, but once Wickstrom hits her stride…you are in it for the long haul. Code Dog is the story of Timmy, Beth, and Arthur as they try to find a 200-year old time capsule so they can win the $1,000 prize. Luckily, Mrs. Vance has a map the kids can use while she is recuperating from surgery and Timmy is caring for Cody, her adored dog. However, along the way, the kids and readers learn that Cody has secrets of her own and may be the key in helping them find the missing time capsule before their time runs out. There is suspense, humor, and friendship. This is a great chapter book for blossoming readers as well as a fantastic read-a-long for bedtime. As always, Wickstrom does a fantastic job of not only telling a wonderful story, but weaving life lessons throughout.

I have read a few of these books by G Pa Rhymes with my son. We always enjoy the adventure the characters go on. This time, it was an adventure of kindness. Fay and Cray start swimming to warmer waters. On their way, they find some animals who need help. These books always flow nicely and will keep kids entertained. They will also learn something along the way. At the end of each book, there is always extra fun included.

This is one of the most heartwarming books I’ve read. It’s probably one of the closest I’ve seen to explain to foster children about family. I think Loris is a sweet child. I loved how the author explained the feelings of all the kids and how what he was feeling was normal. I wish we could get a copy of this book to every foster child or therapist.

I love a good mystery. This author does a tremendous job with setting up her stories. The premise of the story was built around a former student returning as an instructor. The story had great detail. I really enjoyed how it built its way up to the end. Everything was explained at the end. The characters were well written and easy to relate to.

I really enjoyed this story. There was a really nice flow to the story. I was amazed to see that there were 10 authors. As a paranormal lover, it’s always a treat to find a romance with lots of goodies in the story. It is set in New Orleans, after all. Nobody thought it too odd that Callum was often seen talking to himself. You can feel a little of every emotion in this story. There are lots of fairies, trolls, and even things that can eat you. Such a fun paranormal tale. It’s an intriguing tale of good coming together to fight evil to save Aeris’s home of Laric. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series as it comes out.

It’s so exciting to see this in a boxed set. All three books together in one place. These books are so wonderfully written. They are historically detailed in such a way that almost makes you feel that you can see the beauty of the location during that time. You can feel the noise, etc. The characters in each story bring such depth and personality to them. Each story is unique yet tied together by the family piece. Whether as a protagonist in one story or as a supporting character in the other books, these characters will feel relatable. There were times that I felt like I was feeling their emotions. Such beautiful romances in all three books. I would click the buy button for this. Worth having.

The Winemakers is a great historical romance box set of Book 1-3 in The Winemakers series…its includes The True Purpose of Vines, The Taste of Light and The Truth About Myths. If you are a lover of historical romance with love, banter, secrets, history and taken to beautiful places you can only imagine I highly recommend this series of books….and this is perfect in a box set!
Book 1 – The True Purpose of Vines This is a historical romance set in Portugal 1870’s. This is a beautifully written story, and I enjoyed being swept up in time. Julia is a strong and passionate woman that is all about keeping her vineyard and producing the best wine, but is also in debt due to her late husband. Griffin, who is all about regaining his family’s status, makes an agreement to get payment from Julia. As the story unfolds, so does the romance between Griffin and Julia. This is a great story of romance, secrets, history and cultural differences….the author did an amazing job with such wonderful details.
Book 2 – The Taste of Light I would recommend reading book 1 first. I can say that while I did enjoy book 1, I loved this book, being 2nd in the series with my every being.
Can I say……I was not happy with Pedro in book 1….not what so ever and never ever in a million years I would end up liking him so much in book 2…..I know get it…..and my heart…. Pedro is haunted by his past and wants love. Pedro truly believe he once had love, but choice in the matter…it did not happen. A chance encounter and ending up on the run, he meets Anne.
Anne… I loved Anne so much and just her being so kind….she is helping her brother and also travels to help the other neighbors understand and learn how to take care of their vines..and an encounter she meets Pedro…and Pedro at first did not take to kind to Anne…and both end up on the run. Why are they running?
Will Pedro and Anne connect and Pedro find what he is looking for? Chemistry, banter, intensity for sure…..I Loved Pedro and Anne in this story so much!
Book 3 – The Truth About Myths Very well written and I can picture beautiful place in Portugal and Spain….The Truth About Myths is book 3 in The Winemakers series. The author is fabulous and her storytelling is amazing. The romance, tension and banter between Henrique and Isabel…I loved it.
When Isabel is asked by the King to go to Spain to help out….it is her duty to do so. What is not anticipated is who is accompanying her….none other than Henrique….which at first was a bit trying. Knowing how proper and set in her ways Isabel is….will she be able to let a bit go and see another side to Henrique and will he fight for her?

This story is about many things, Cody the Code Dog, a town with secrets, a monster in the woods, kids trying to decipher the code and discover the secrets all the while trying to be kids, homework, chores and creating a band. I’m tired just thinking about their adventures!
The beginning half of this story seems to be all over the place. The three friends, Beth, Timmy and Arthur, are all concerned about their own thing. Beth wants to finish the school project, Timmy wonders about the monster in the woods and Arthur wants to just keep writing songs for their band. They don’t really seem to get along as friends do. But then their teacher needs their help in finding the missing time capsule. Luckily there’s a map with clues, however, those clues don’t really make much sense and there are others looking for the capsule, as well.
Cute story with a cute dog and some very interesting characters. While I do love most of this author’s books, this one wasn’t my favorite. Will continue to read the stories from her and look forward to more.

These Oscar and Emmy books are always so cute and informative about animals. This one specifically deals with fostering. Charlie and Abby learn so much through fostering three tiny kittens. These books always take real life pet and animal problems and bring them to an age appropriate level for children. Over crowding at animal shelters is a very real, very common thing. This touches on it gently and helps teach about what it’s like to take in kittens, but then to adopt them out so that you can take on more to help with the over population of cats.
This is a cute rhyming story that explains the responsibility of owning a dog. Friends Lora and CJ both want a puppy. Their parents tell them they must learn the ways of dog owning. Puppies are serious lifelong responsibilities. Dogs of any age require care, love and understanding.
This is a cute quick read with a great start to dog ownership.
