The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3 (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something) by Aubrey Bondurant
Four Stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant. This is the author’s debut book and the first book I have read by her. Ms. Bondurant did a great job with the character descriptions, she gave them some flaws to make them very interesting. The witty banter had me laughing out loud, but there was some emotional turns that had me sad and at some points mad. I enjoyed how the relationship built between Haylee and Josh, but some of the things she put up with I don’t think I would have. It is a great love story with lots of hot love scenes.

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. This series keeps getting better and better. You get an introduction to Sasha and Brian in the first book. This book flowed and I couldn’t put it down. To me the emotions you feel while reading tells me how good the book is, and this book had me laughing out loud and reaching for my tissue box. The character descriptions and the witty dialogue made this fast paced story so entertaining I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want it to end, but now I can start the next book in the series.

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. The characters overlap a little, and so far all of the books in the series have been wonderful. I love the way Ms. Bondurant brings the characters to life and makes the reader feel like they are right there with them. I love how the flow of this book is so easy and takes me away from my real life into this world with the witty banter of Kenzie and Colby. They have known each other for ever, will this be their chance at love? I would highly recommend this book, series and author to everyone who love romance! I can’t wait to start the next book in this series. I’m hoping Ms. Bondurant continues with this series because the books are so good and I would hate for it to end.

The Something Series - Box Set Books 1-3: (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something)The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3: by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant contains the first three books of this amazing series.

In Tell Me Something we are introduced to Haylee and Josh and the series. Haylee and Josh gave off the chart chemistry from the moment they meet and it only escalates. They have quiet a passionate relationship no matter the emotion they are feeling at the time. I absolutely loved this book and was unable to contain my excitement for the next book.

Ask Me Something is the story of Sasha and Brian. They both work for and are friends with Josh, Brian being his best friend. Sasha and Brain work in different locations but they haven’t allowed that to effect their friendship which continues to build and grow. They are amazing together and as always they don’t gave the easiest path but what a journey.

Bet Me Something is Kenzie and Colby’s story. They are the younger siblings of best friends. She’s Brian’s little sister and he’s Josh’s younger brother. They all grew up together but that didn’t stop Kenzie from developing a crush on Colby at a young age. He steps in to be her white knight when she needed him the most and it went from there. I loved this book and think it is my favorite of the series

If you enjoy romance and some amazingly intimate moments you have to give this a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This is an amazing set of stories. Each book hooks you in and I found myself getting lost in the pages. Each of the stories focuses on two main characters. I loved reading about the attraction and chemistry that each one had for the other. The feelings that they have for each other are undeniable. The main characters are well-developed, and I found myself caring about them and their happiness with each chapter that I read. My emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading these books. There are moments that will warm your heart and make you smile. There are steamy, red-hot scenes that will make the temperature in the room rise. There are also other secondary characters introduced. I enjoyed reading about the part that they play in the stories. This is an author that does a wonderful job in weaving stories that you will not soon forget. I would highly recommend reading them.

The Something Series (Box Set Books 1-3) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Ashleigh Whitwell

The Something Series - Box Set Books 1-3: (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something)The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3: by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Something Series boxset contains the first three instalment of Aubrey Bondurant’s Something series: Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something and Bet Me Something. Each story follows a different couple but all revolve around the same friendship group. Set in stylish cities across America, New York City and Las Vegas to name just two, all three of these books are exciting, glamorous and addicting reads. One of my favourite series EVER, I cannot recommend this boxset enough.

If the previous statement didn’t give it away, this review is definitely a little biased. I absolutely love this series and have done from the moment I started reading Hayley and Josh’s story in Tell Me Something. Those two characters, and their dramatic storyline, pulled me in from the very beginning and before I knew it I was hooked. While Josh isn’t the easiest person to love, including for Hayley (!), seeing these two grow closer over the course of the book was so much fun. Being the first couple of the series, they have a special place in my heart and in the series itself; they are the originals! So when I started Ask Me Something, I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive. How were Sasha and Brian going to live up to my expectations? Quite easily, as it turns out, and soon I was obsessed with them, too. This book definitely had a more grown up feel and I loved reading about to adult characters with powerful, high-level careers. The dynamic between the two was so interesting and their passion and charisma was hot. I loved how Brian both pulled Sasha out of her comfort zone and made her feel safe. A lot of love for these two!

Of all the books in the series, Bet Me Something has a special place in my heart. Colby and Kenzie are younger characters who are still trying to figure stuff out, which makes them so much more relatable for me. Another bonus is the friends-to-loves storyline, as this is probably my favourite romance genre. I love the whole ‘childhood crush’ thing Kenzie has for Colby and found myself screaming at Colby to finally admit his feelings for her. This is the perfect angsty read that the series was missing and I have to say, is probably my favourite.

If you’re not already convinced, this is a must-read romance series. I can’t remember how many people I have recommend it to and they have also said they love it. Once you’ve started this series you won’t want to stop, so the boxset is the perfect introduction; trust me, books four and five are just as good! I will never stop re-reading this series and honestly cannot recommend it enough.

The Something Series - Box Set Books 1-3: (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something)The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3: by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Something Series – Box Set books 1 -3 by Aubrey Bondurant is a collection of her first three books in The Something Series – Tell me Something, Ask Me something and Bet Me Something.

This was a great opportunity to re-read these great books and re-aquiant myself with the wonderful rich and well loved characters in this series. I would recommend you read this wonderful series, you will not turn back once you have read the first chapter of the first book. You can read them as stand alone books but you get to see insights into the characters so I would read them in order.

Tell me Something –
The book starts off being on the set of an advertising company awaiting the model Katrina, Haylee has just gotten a job as an assistant to one of the Vice Presidents so she can save some money to attend Harvard Law.

Her boss then insists she tries to locate the model but after various calls to her agent there is no response. All of a sudden there is an air of tension around the set when the owner of the agency Josh Singer walks in and is not happy that the model is a no show, then the model appears and starts demanding that she is only at the shoot for one hour and that is all the time she can spare.

Haylee then has a deep voice whisper in her ear to record the conversation that is about to happen. Josh then proceeds to send the model away with her tail between her legs and adding that their legal department will sue her for breach of contract. The model then attacks Josh that he can’t prove it and then Haylee announces she has recorded the whole conversation. Once the model storms out Josh has an idea that Haylee would make a great model and be able to do the photo shoot for the campaign.

Haylee agrees and the day goes swimmingly, when she is about to leave she is asked to speak to Josh. Josh then proceeds to ask Haylee if she would like to be his second assistant in New York, Haylee is shocked and asks about living arrangements and other logistics. Josh seems to answer all her questions so she decides to move to New York and work in the head office.

Once she moves into her apartment in New York she discovers that it is owned by Josh and once she starts working for him discovers that they have chemistry between the two of them. Due to Josh’s Assistant having personnel issues that mean he cannot travel on businesses trips, Haylee becomes Josh’s travelling partner, while on one trip to Cancun the chemistry becomes too hot too handle and Josh decides to act on the lust.

As the story goes on you get to understand Haylee’s past and all the great changes and opportunities she has working for Josh and you get an insight in the world of Josh and his reluctance to let Haylee in.

I loved how the author drawers you into the story and that you believe you are part of this fictional world that you also feel like they are your best friends. I enjoyed this book so much that I searched and download the next one in the series to read start after.

Ask Me Something –
This book follows the lives of Sasha and Brian. There has always been a spark between them but until one night in Miami where there relationship is about to move from friends into something more, Sasha receives a call which has her abandoning the man she has craved for since they met.

Sasha is then promoted to become VP within Gamble Advertising but there is one problem the job is in New York far away from her comfort blanket of Charlotte and away from her best friend Brian and now her boss.

Roll forward eight years, Sasha and Brian are friends and meet up when then they can. Brian calls to ask Sasha for their usual dinner date when he is in the city but Sasha turns him down saying she has to help her friend Catherine out at speed dating. Once the girls finish at speed dating then Sasha texts Brian there location if he would like to enjoy a drink.

Brian arrives at the restaurant and they seem to be having a great time, then a woman arrives, Brian’s woman and the atmosphere turns icy as the conversation take a nasty turn and Jamie reveals the nickname Josh and Brian call her “Sasha – B -Fierce”, this totally floors Sasha but does not let it show and give Jamie the satisfaction that she has wounded her. As always Catherine shows this woman that she is a formidable character not to cross and slices this interloper down in one sentence.

After the restaurant Sasha goes home and decides to pack for her trip back home for Christmas, after two glasses of wine down a call comes in with the caller ID she has been anticipating, Brian. As the conversation goes he reminders her of Miami and tries to explain that the nickname was in fact a compliment regarding how great she is at the presentations to to their clients. All of a sudden Brian asks for Sasha to let her doorman know he will be there in five minutes and the the feelings are truly discovered and rules are established. Brian then sets in motion a plan to win Sasha’s heart.

I really enjoyed the first book but that was just the starting point. You will follow this book and believe you are in the lives of these characters with each word written. You will have a barrage of emotions with one minute laughing, next crying and then shouting at the e-reader with frustration.

Bet Me Something –
McKenzie has been in love with Colby since she was six years old, but will he ever not see her as her brother’s best friend’s sister.

Roll forward to present day and Kenzie has just been hijacked by the fact she is not going to UCLA like she had planned but has been told that her Georgetown application is sorted, the only problem is she did not apply there, her mother. Even being at her own graduation party which she did not want but was forced by her over bearing mother she feels lost and mad, but McKenzie does what a proper lady should do and thanks people for coming and plasters on a false smile until the bitter end.
Once the party has finished and she has escaped home she is walking in the garden and decided to go into the old tree house to collect her thoughts when he appears. Colby has always seemed to know when she needs a pick me up, Kenzie explains the night’s events and in a blink of an eye he is proposing to get away and have a weekend in Las Vegas in one of his family’s hotels. McKenzie cannot believe what she is hearing and decides to make this a trip of a life time as they say “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas”.

So Colby organises the company private jet and they are flying to their destination and Kenzie cannot believe what’s happening, when they arrive it like a whirlwind Colby has organised a suite for them with a huge hot tub and then asks her what she would like to do. Colby arranges dinner and then to go to a club where Kenzie gets drunk and reveals unintentionally her five date rule. The next morning Kenzie gets out of bed with a mother of all hangovers and gingerly asks Colby what happened and what did she reveal, he tells her that she told him her five date rule and she inwardly groans.
The next night Colby asks her what she would do and Kenzie asks if they can have a quiet dinner and maybe gamble, so that’s what they do have a lovely meal and then go to the casino within the hotel, until it gets a bit intense when they decide to make a bet if Kenzie wins she gets to have a real kiss from Colby.

Colby loses the bet and has uneasiness when Kenzie decides to redeemed her bet. So they are sitting on the sofa awaiting the kiss, this is what Kenzie has been waiting for forever, their lips move closer and closer until the kiss happens and what happens after shatters Kenzie’s dreams of Colby. The kiss what not good at all and her perfect with Colby had gone, he had a flaw and it broke the illusion of him being a perfect man, but then Colby does a counter bet and asks Kenzie to show him how a kiss is supposed to be, once their lips touch again the spark is ignited in Colby but he then has an internal battle with himself he likes Kenzie but she is not in play.

There is a weave within the story that you will these two people together and you at one point will need tissues. I really enjoyed the first two books but I think this at the moment is the best story so far, you are transported into the story and believe yet again that you are one of their friends. I really can’t wait for the third book and Catherine’s story.

All I can say is enjoy.

The Something series by Aubrey Bondurant filled with five-star reads. This is the box set of books 1-3 and each story is just more compelling than the last, I had previously read these books, picking them up now and again between other books, I enjoyed them but reading them all together as a box set just seemed to pull me in so much more that as individual books, each book reveals a different story about different people but all in the same world they complement each other well.

Aubrey Bondurant sits on my must read list because of this series. These characters are so well written. Each book stands alone very well but work seemlessly together to form a wonderful universe. Romance rules over all. Each book focuses on a different woman from our sisterhood and their romantic entanglements. Each storyline progresses differently. Each heroine is strong and complex and flawed. Bondurant writes relatable, yet noteworthy characters that are approachable and heartfelt. Highly recommended.

The Something Series - Box Set Books 1-3: (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something)The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3: by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Something Series Box Set contains the first three books in the brilliant “Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant. I adore this series soooo much and can’t recommend these books highly enough. They are superbly written and are so easy to connect with the characters, who draw you in and have you investing in them and their stories within the first few chapters. This box set is a great way to introduce yourself to Ms. Bondurant’s work- and represents great value for money too…. Three books for the price of one #bargain!
The Box Set contains:

Tell Me Something
Tell me Something is the first book in the Something series, and it’s a superb contemporary/ Office romance.
Haylee Holloway has a heart full of grief, having lost both her parents in the space of five years, has left her not wanting to form attachments to anyone as she fears that they would eventually leave. Happiness is a fleeting thing and she won’t subject herself to that kind of pain, again.
The incredibly smart twenty-two year old is saving up to attend law school in the Fall, and in the meantime, to help make ends meet she has taken on a job as an assistant at an advertising company.
While on a shoot for a very important client, there is an issue with one of the models, so Haylee steps in so the whole shoot isn’t jeopardised. And if she didn’t feel awkward enough, the sexy owner of the company decides to show up. She can’t seem to take her eyes off him.
Josh Singer owns Gamble Advertising. He is broody, intense and smoulderingly hot. He is impressed by her loyalty, dedication, willingness to pitch in and can-do attitude; not to mention her natural beauty. He is quite taken with her.
Josh makes her an offer she can’t refuse- become his assistant and move to New York City. It really is an offer she can’t refuse. Knowing that there is an expiration date to their arrangement, due to Haylee leaving for Law School in the fall- they come to a mutually beneficial agreement.
But Haylee has issues that affect her ability to fully embrace a relationship and Josh has trust and commitment difficulties. Things he has yet to tell Haylee. Can they put aside their insecurities and embrace what they could have together, or will they let fear dictate their future?
I am really impressed with Ms. Bondurant’s vivid, emotive and descriptive writing style. This book is a real page turner; I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the story and knew what had become of Josh and Haylee. The engrossing nature of the story is entirely due to the authors writing talents.
It was heartbreaking and emotional in places, but it also had funny moments; and times I had my heart in my mouth. Then there is the angst, it was so real, I felt it.
The author touched on a few sensitive topics, but did so considerately and respectfully.
I did get a little frustrated with Josh and Haylee at times. But mostly, I was cheering them on from the sidelines- hoping that they would find a future in each other’s arms.

Ask Me Something
Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series. It is a contemporary, erotic, office romance- with a bit of a friends-to-lovers element to it.- When I said erotic earlier- I really do mean sizzling, nibbling your bottom lip, forget the outside world, drooling on your kindle, kind of erotic!
Sasha Brooks is the Vice President of the New York branch of Gamble Advertising. She loves her career and has worked incredibly hard to get where she is today. Sasha can come across as cold and unapproachable, does a great R.B.F and has a reputation as a fierce business woman. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. There are things she has hidden, secret she’s kept from the world, her colleagues and even her family.
Brian Carpenter is the East Coast Regional Vice President for Gamble Advertising and Sasha’s boss. He is very easy going, charming and considerate. Working with Sasha isn’t always easy, but he wouldn’t expect it to be anything less- plus she is really good at her job. They have eight years of friendship behind them- a history of friendly and flirtatious comradery. They also have incredible chemistry. But being work colleagues, it is far less complicated and easier to just remain friends. Right?
When one of them seems to be seeing someone else, will it be enough to get them to admit how they feel? Or is it too late? What happens when ALL the secrets are revealed?
This book had me burning up the pages, soaking up every word- time seemed to stand still while I lost myself for a few hours in this captivating story.
It is quite funny and there were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments- some of the banter and antics were just hilarious.
The characters were wonderful; really well written and fully developed- with their own, individual traits. They grew from their experiences throughout the story and learned from their mistakes. They were realistically written, there was no sugar coating them- they were written with ‘warts and all’. That made the story that much more believable and allowed me to really connect to the characters and the story.
This book is told from Sasha’s POV right the way through till the epilogue, which is from Brian’s POV.
It’s a highly engrossing and very entertaining read!

Bet Me Something
“Being able to stand on your own two feet, sometimes requires getting knocked off them completely”…….
Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something series. I really have fallen in love with this series; Ms. Bondurant keeps setting the bar higher with each consecutive book and nails it every time. This book is the best of the bunch so far, and that’s really saying something considering how much I have loved them all. I began reading and was immediately captivated by the story- reading it in one sitting, because I couldn’t put it down. It is a contemporary, erotic, romantic comedy.
McKenzie Lane (Kenzie) thought she had her life mapped out, at least for the foreseeable future. Having just graduated from college, she’s really excited to begin work the following week. Kenzie was the one applicant chosen from thousands for this internship and considers it a once-in-a-life-time opportunity. But instead, her controlling mother has other ideas and is bulldozing all Kenzie’s dreams. She has spent the past four years attending college in LA to get away from her mother, but also to be close to the guy she has been crushing on since the day she laid eyes on him, sixteen years earlier.
Colby Singer owns a successful movie production company in LA, he is very sexy and charming- popular with the ladies, he has a reputation as a ‘Player’. He and Kenzie have been friends for years, he’s always liked her- but because of their nine year age difference and the fact that she is his best friend’s sister, he has her relegated to the ‘friend zone’.
After Kenzie’s mother dropped the ‘bomb’, Colby was determined to get Kenzie’s mind off the stressful situation by taking her away for some fun. What he hoped would be a simple weekend of fun with a friend, was a lot more difficult than he had realised. Especially when Kenzie decides that this may be the only opportunity she will get, to determine if he could ever see her as more than just “his best friend’s baby sister”. It’s at this point where the story got really interesting- but no spoilers from me, you really should read it and discover all the captivating details for yourself…. You won’t be disappointed. read it to find out what happens………
Ms. Bondurant has a wonderful way with words, she doesn’t just write, she paints a picture with her words. She lovingly crafts her plot and the characters, giving intricately detailed descriptions in her scene setting and witty dialogue. There is a lot of humour in the way she writes and the story did have many hilarious moments. There were a couple of points through the story where I reached for the tissue box. There were some really touching and heart-warming moments in this delightful book.
All the characters are really well developed, well written, likeable and entirely enchanting. I loved that they learned, grew and ‘matured’ as the story unfolded. At the beginning Kenzie was being walked all over by her mother, but by the end she was really standing up for herself. I loved her sarcastic sense of humour and her sassy attitude. Colby is just adorable- I found him so swoony; he’s fun, charming and sinfully sexy with his trademark PDG (panty dropping grin). They really steamed up the pages with their sexy antics.
“…losing a bet to you has always turned out to be the very best thing to happen to me”….
Another wonderful addition to a seriously great series!

So, do yourself a favour and grab yourself a copy to read, you are sure to love them just as much as I have!

Thank-you Ms. Bondurant!

This is the first 3 books in this series, I love this series! Each story is about a different couple. Each one is looking for something better whether it be a new start to a dream job. What they find may not be what they are looking for, the men may be hot but they come with struggles. The chemistry with each one makes the story hot and steamy. The characters are true to life, I loved them. They made me feel part of their story. What does fate have instore for them? A must read series!

The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3: (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something) by Aubrey Bondurant

Tell Me Something is the first book in the series and is a great read!

Our main characters Haylee & Josh are from completely different backgrounds and lifestyles and they have both had more than their share of challenges, problems and heartbreak. When these two meet by chance, an opportunity Haylee can’t refuse is offered and the instant attraction leads to a sizzling connection that can’t be ignored. But will their issues become too much between them? Will they realise what they want before it tears them apart? Will Halyee survive the perceived betrayal or will Josh come to his senses before he looses her forever?

Ask Me Something is the second book in the series by and is a great read, even better than the first and that is saying something as I loved the first one!

In this story our main characters Sasha & Brian have worked together for years in the advertising industry and are the best of friends. When a promotion comes along she takes it but it means she has to move away and makes him her boss. Sasha may be a force to be reckoned with in the business world but on the inside she is fighting a secret she has never told anyone.

Brian is the complete opposite in that he is so laid back and easy going until he is in the bedroom, then things get to sizzling with this hot and sexy alpha male.

Bet Me Something is the third book in the series and it is every bit as good if not better than the others.

Kenzie and Colby are our main characters who have always been in each other’s lives as they grew up together. Colby and Kenzie who both are dealing with their own insecurities which are holding them back from having a fulfilling life. There were a few times I was mad with how they were treated and for how others treated them and for not standing up for themselves. But overall they are two beautifully smart, witty and intelligent people who you envy their easy going relationship, if only it could be more!

The secondary characters were just as entertaining as the main characters and had me laughing and crying right along with them. I love reading books by Aubrey, as I love her style of writing as it flows easily and the story lines she comes up with keep me hooked and fully invested and wanting to know more about the made for each other couples that I so adore.

There are so many wonderful characters that we have learned about in this series but there are still so many that we need to have their stories told. You will find yourself laughing and crying, holding your breath, heartbroken and jealous as you walk through the Something series world. There are many, many emotional twists and turns and insecurities that will have you biting your nails and hoping for the best. I absolutely love all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all these characters and their loyalty and friendships. When these men love they love hard and fast and set the sheets on fire.

Tell Me Something:

Haylee Holloway has experienced more grief than a twenty-two year old should have to endure. When she moves to LA for a fresh start and takes a job as an assistant for an advertising company the last thing she expects is to have to step in as the model during a photo shoot. Especially with a multi-million dollar campaign hanging in the balance.

Josh Singer, the owner of Gamble Advertising is private, intense, and hard to read. But when he shows up to take charge of the debacle, he’s surprised to be drawn to the nervous woman filling in. Once he learns of Haylee’s goal to save money for law school, he makes her a short-term offer she can’t refuse:

Move to New York City and work for him directly as his assistant.

But as things heat up between them, blurring both their professional and personal lives, can they keep things temporary as planned or will they both realize some things aren’t meant to end?

Ask Me Something:

Sasha Brooks has been focused on one thing her entire life: her career. Newly promoted as the vice president in a New York advertising company, she has beauty, brains, and one hell of a fierce reputation. But she also has a secret that she keeps carefully guarded.

Brian Carpenter is finding out that managing his newest VP isn’t without its challenges, but when it comes to Sasha, he’d expect nothing less. His easygoing personality and Southern charm are the yang to her yin and the calm to her storm.

Over the last eight years of their friendship, the flirtations, innuendos, and chemistry have almost led to more, but Sasha has convinced herself they’re better off just friends.
Almost.
Until the moment she thinks he’s with someone else.
Is she too late to admit her feelings?
Gathering the courage to ask the question, Sasha discovers she isn’t the only one keeping secrets.
You think you know someone….

Bet Me Something:

McKenzie “Kenzie” Lane is newly graduated from college and looking forward to a dream internship she has lined up for the summer in LA. Unfortunately, her controlling mother has other plans.

Colby Singer, with his hot-as-sin looks and wicked charm, is never without attention from the ladies. Despite suspecting how Kenzie feels about him, he’s always kept her comfortably off-limits since she’s the baby sister of one of his best friends. But when he’s determined to distract her temporarily from the stress of her mother’s ultimatum, deciding to show her some fun, he quickly finds that keeping her in the friend zone is not as easy as he’d hoped.

Once Kenzie realizes this may be her last opportunity to gauge her long-time crush’s true feelings, she puts it all out there in the form of a bet. It’s the perfect idea for her perfect man.
Until he isn’t.
Will a dose of reality lead to true love? Or will it crash and burn before it can even get started?

Without Regret (Without Series Book 2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Without RegretWithout Regret by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Without Regret (Without Series Book 2) by Aubrey Bondurant is another fantastic read. Aubrey knows how to write a great contemporary romance. The storyline is captivating, steamy and interesting and the connection between the characters makes them come to life. They are fun, lovable and real and you get invested with them and their world. Beware there will be tears and your emotions will be all over the place as you learn about Emma and her life. But there is just as many laughs to be had and moments when you want to smack some characters in the head or worse. Don’t mess with my girl Emma!!

I highly recommend reading the Without series and I really really hope there is more to come.

Without Regret (Without Series Book #2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Angela Hayes

Without RegretWithout Regret by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Without Regret is the second book in the Without series by Aubrey Bondurant. I was really looking forward to this book after reading “Without Apology” (Book #1)- and couldn’t wait to dive in as soon as I had a few hours spare. I loved Emma in the first book and couldn’t wait to find out all about her. Her story is a wonderful office romance- with a sexy storyline full of funny banter, witty quips, sizzling chemistry, emotion, and some drama. I am happy to report that this book is every bit as good as the first, in fact this is my favourite, so far.
Emma Brown didn’t have an easy life growing up, but never the less has managed to land on her feet, finding a job that she loves, for a boss who has become one of her few close friends. She comes across as stand-offish and doesn’t ‘mince’ words. But her ‘prickly’ demeanour is just her way of keeping people at arm’s length- the less people she lets ‘in’ the less chance she has of being hurt or dealing with yet more disappointments in her life. As her boss Simon settles into his life in Dallas, after meeting the love of his life while there on the last project(Without Apology Book #1), he is now less inclined to do all the travelling that his job requires- so he looks at hiring someone who would work on all those projects that would entail travelling away for long periods of time. Simon thinks he may have found the perfect person for the job. When he arrives at the office for the first time, Emma is surprised, in more ways than one. There is something about him that draws her to him- and that leaves her a little unsettled and confused. She doesn’t date ‘suits’, and is very wary of relationships, especially with a colleague. But as they spend more time together, working closely, the magnetic attraction they share soon becomes overwhelming. Will they give in to their desire? What happens if they do and their secret ‘office affair’ becomes public knowledge? Will Trevor teach her to trust again? Can she learn to love, without regret?
As I mentioned in my previous review, these characters are superb- really well developed interesting and very likeable- including the secondary characters. Well, except for Tom, who I disliked intensely in the first book and then throughout this story too. The story is sexy and incredibly HOT! There were emotional, heart-wrenching moments that made me feel for the characters- as well as tender, touching, sweet, romantic scenes that warmed my heart. There is something here for all romance lovers, dive in- you won’t regret it! I wonder what Ms. Bondurant has in store for us next?

Thank you, Ms. Bondurant!

Without Apology (Without, #1)Without Apology by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Without Apology is the first book in the Without series by Aubrey Bondurant. This is the first book in a new series, and because I have loved Ms. Bondurant’s “Something” series, I was excited to get my hands on this book and see what she had in store for us. This turned out to be a wonderful contemporary/forbidden/office romance, with some really funny banter, quips and antics- as well as some emotion, drama, witty dialogue, and endearing characters.
Peyton Waters and Simon Granger meet in the checkout line at the supermarket. Peyton saves him from and awkward situation, and they have an instant attraction and chemistry. They agree on a date and end up having a fantastic time. He’s in town for business, so they make plans to meet up the following weekend. Only, come Monday morning they discover that she works for the company that his firm is looking at acquiring. He’s there to make the takeover happen and hasn’t earned the nickname ‘Iceman’ for nothing. Peyton and Simon will need to work closely as the weeks progress and there can be no chance of a relationship with them working together- will they be able to keep things purely professional, or will their chemistry cause them to give in to their attraction?
I really love this start to the new series. Peyton and Simon are fantastic character, and I was very quickly invested in them and their story. Theirs is a relationship fraught with complication, with an expiration date from the get go, as Simon is only in town till the deal goes through. With both characters having their own ‘demons’ to battle, as well as a little added drama- this story was a great way to launch the new series. I was flipping the pages as quickly as I could to discover what would happen.
The characters are really well developed- including the secondary characters- I loved Emma, Megan, Jen, Kevin and of course Cooper. The story is sexy, steaming HOT! I can’t wait to read book two, Emma’s story- “Without Regret”.

Thank you, Ms. Bondurant!

And they say opposites attract….
Without Apology is the first book in the Without series written by Aubrey Bondurant but it’s not the first book that I have read by her. She is an amazing author… The characters are well written with their quirky personalities and amazing banter. This is a great storyline and the description of the scenery was great also.
I fell in love with Simon and Peyton from the first few pages. We have Peyton who is smart, funny, and a math whiz. She is no push over and can gives as good as she gets. She works hard but she also makes time for her family.
Simon is British but lives in New York City but is actually more on the road for work then home. They call him the Ice man because of his emotionless approach to his job of acquiring companies for his boss. But when he meets Peyton his world is turn upside down. He doesn’t do feelings but he gets a crash course in feeling.
This was a great read we get to see how two work alcoholic’s navigate a relationship and work with a few bumps in the road.
I highly recommend this great story written by a great author….

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Show Me Something is the fifth book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and sadly the last book in the series. It is a fantastic read, there is so much depth in this book even better than all the others but not by much. I loved all the other books in this series by Aubrey, because her writing style just flows beautifully giving you a seamless read. The story lines Aubrey comes up with keep you coming back for more and the characters that I adore keep me hooked. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I feel every emotion and every step of the way with them.

In this story our main characters Juliette & Mark are complete strangers and they have both had more than their share of issues, problems and heartbreak. Juliette is a force to be reckoned with, she is a whirlwind, that you can’t help but love, she also has no filter and blurts thing out.

Mark on the other hand is the complete opposite in that he is quiet and has been struggling with a loss so profound he doesn’t know how to move forward..

I love this series and I am sad that it has come to an end but Aubrey has left us with a high for the ending with this beautiful story that once again has it has it all. So much emotion from laughter to sadness to heartache that will leave your heart breaking for them. Even though this series has ended I look forward to all future reads from this very talented author.

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read, even better than the first and that is saying something as I loved the first one! I love reading books by Aubrey, as I love her style of writing as it flows easily and the story lines she comes up with keep me hooked and wanting to know more about the made for each other couples that I so adore. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I am always laughing and crying right along with them.

Brian is the complete opposite in that he is so laid back and easy going until he is in the bedroom, then things get to sizzling with this hot and sexy alpha male.

Bet Me Something (Something, #3)Bet Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant and it is every bit as good if not better than the others. Aubrey’s writing style finds you fully invested in and hooked with each and every book. Having read the other books in this series I was up to date on the back stories of the characters which I have come to love as if my own friends and family.
It is a fast, light and easy read that will have you hooked from the very first page and lost in the world that Aubrey has written.

But overall they two beautifully smart, witty and intelligent people who you envy their easy going relationship, if only it could be more!

There are so many wonderful characters that we have learnt about in this series but there are still so many that we need to have their stories told. You will find yourself laughing and crying, holding your breath, heartbroken and jealous as you walk through the Something series world.

This is a 5 star read.

Tell Me Something (Something, #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Ashleigh Harrington

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something, by Audrey Bondurant, is the first book in a new series called the Something Series. Each of these books is supposed to be able to be read independently of each other so there is no need to worry about cliff hangers. Tell Me Something centers around Haylee and Josh, with a hot boss assistant romance. The story had it’s moments were I absolutely fell in love with it, and other times were I just wanted to scream at my e-reader. Bondurant is a new to me author, and even though her stories frustrated me at times, the relationships were real, and that made the stories that much better in the long run. There was quite a bit of lead up to some of the sex scenes, and not all of the lead up made allot of sense but as the characters reveal their back stories it all came together.

I am excited to see where this series goes, and I hope that several of the ancillary characters from this story get to have their own book. This is a must add to the TBR pile if you love real characters that aren’t anywhere near perfect, hot sex that doesn’t overwhelm the story and just enough BDSM elements to keep the story sordid.

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read! This is the second book I have read by Aubrey and her style of writing flows easily and the storyline kept me hooked and wanting to know more about this made for each other couple. The secondary characters were just as entertaining and had me laughing and crying right along with them.

Will Halyee survive the perceived betrayal or will Josh come to his senses before he loses her forever?

There are many, many emotional twists and turns and insecurities that will have you biting your nails and hoping for the best. I also loved all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all the characters. I look forward to all future reads from Aubrey as I find her a talented author.

Teach Me Something (Something, #4)Teach Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Teach Me Something is the fourth book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and I have read all four of them by now and I cannot wait for the next one (as there will be a next one at some point later this year!)
WARNING! You do not need a magic eight ball to tell you that this is a highly addictive series and every time you finish a book you start thinking of characters you encountered that you hope that Ms Bondurant would give their own book to! When I finished the third book I knew that the fourth one would be about Catherine and I have to say that this is the best one of all of them!
I think that Ms Bondurant’s writing gets better and better with each book, the topics she touches upon become more and more complex and challenging and she does justice to them! In this story we have the older woman-younger man situation, how to find yourself after a divorce, how to find your confidence as a woman, how to deal with guilt that is actually not yours as you were too young to have a choice about the situation that brings the guilt about, difficulty with asking for help and feeling that you deserve the help and love … Ms Bondurant really tackled some hard issues in her story about Catherine and her man!
I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down as I wanted to know how Catherine and her man find their way to their HEA … I am so happy to have been able to take this ride with them! I invite all you to take a chance and take the ride as well!

Bet Me Something (Something, #3)Bet Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and I have read all three of them and am impatiently waiting for the 9th of February when the fourth book is coming out!
WARNING! It is a highly addictive series and every time you finish a book you start thinking of characters you encountered that you hope that Ms Bondurant would give their own book to! I know Catherine is coming next but what about Mark and Will and… you get my drift! You become an addict thinking of your next fix.
As I have read all three books in the series, it feels as if the writing is getting better and better with each book, Ms Bondurant has truly grown into her craft and there is nothing in the book that I would take away or have an issue with or… I think she is great with building the story, showing how Kenzie is growing into herself and finding out what it is that she is supposed to be doing with her life, standing up for herself, her love…and Colby, a man child, vulnerable and playboy, needing to grow up and stop hiding and take a stand… Ms Bondurant does not write about being perfect and having everything come easy, she writes about that we need to work for what we want and what we deserve!
Some might say that the book is too long but I disagree, the journey to find one self is not short, relationships that last are not short so how could a book conveying all it to be short (also, I looove long books). I had to compromise a bit on my sleep but it was so worth it! If you work, I suggest plan a weekend with the book and tell your friends that you are not available! You will not regret it!
You can read Bet Me Something without having read the first two books but I really recommend to read the other two as well (they are available on Kindle Unlimited…. hint, hint…), you will get so much more out of the series when you read all three books.
SO, now I need somehow manage to last until the 9th of February – only 3 more weeks …. And then I will find out what Ms Bondurant has in store for Catherine…. hmm… I wonder what ….

Ask Me Something (Something, #2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jana Teppih

Ask Me Something (Something, #2)Ask Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and it is the second book I have read by this writer.
I have to say that I was very much looking forward to this book after finishing the first one as there were quite a few characters in the first book that I thought that it would be interesting to see how their stories could look like. This book is a story of Sasha and Brian.
I was in no way disappointed, Ms Bondurant’s writing was even better, the characters were more complex, there were no embellishments, you were getting hit with emotions right and left…I cannot tell you how much I cried while I was reading this book… Don’t worry, it is not a bad thing, I think it gives credit to the writer’s ability to write so well that I could relate to what was going on to the extent it made me cry. I did laugh out loud as well, no doubt there!
Ms Bondurant does not shy away from the topics that many of us struggle with – control over being vulnerable, anxiety, panic attacks, being alone or trusting, keeping appearances or letting people in… I felt like I was living the life Sasha was living, feeling the pain, confusion, triumphs, love, sex…
The sexy scenes are plentiful and they fit into the story line. They show clearly how the intimacy keeps growing between Sasha and Brian. Nothing is wrong between two people if they there is an agreement and trust.
You can read the book as a standalone but why should you when there is a great first book that introduces you to the world Ms Bondurant is creating for us. Get a glass of wine and settle down for the long evening (or weekend) and enjoy yourself! Have a box of Kleenex at hand, you will need it if you let yourself to go on a journey with Sasha and Brian!
I am hooked on the series and the third book is already lined up in my e-reader! The expectations are high and I am sure Ms Bondurant will be delivering!
