Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Erica Fish

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Where to begin with this action packed Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Donna Frelick does an amazing job writing her stories. This story is written from different points of view. This could be tricky at times but not for Ms. Frelick. The flow is spot on with who you are learning the thoughts and actions. No confusion at all. The adventure that is before me kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages as fast as I can. In this story Lana and Gabriel team up to find a kidnapped boy and his mother. There are things that do not quite seem to fit and that is where the rubber meets the road. I highly recommend this story. I cannot see what other books I can find by Donna S. Frelick.

Undercover is the second book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This series just keeps getting better and better. I love that each book gives us a new perspective of the story as a whole. This story grabbed my attention on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. Marenah and Matt really are a powerful couple and the story is full of action, adventure and hot love scenes. It was a quick read that had my blood racing throughout. I can’t wait to see what Via Mari has in store for us next!

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells – Review by Jana Teppih

The Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys SeriesThe Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traitor is the second book in India Kells’ Underground Bad Boys Series! I love India Kells writing, I have read most of what she has written so when The Traitor popped up on my radar I knew I had to pick it up! I fell in love with the Underground Bad Boys series when I read Locke and Tessa’s story (and I was so happy to see them popping up here as well)!
The Traitor gives us Spencer Knox who feels that he is a traitor as he had to go against the people he grew up with and worked with. He has escaped to a small town and bought a garage and is trying to live a normal life. Well, it does not go too well as he notices Josie Baird though originally he decides to stay away from her as he believes he has nothing to offer her … The series has a M/F/M aspect to it so we need the second M and it is Knox’ best friend Gage who comes to help Knox with his garage and he is the opposite to Knox – full of life, joking and bantering …
You need to pick up a copy to see how their paths cross and get entwined and learn that all of them have their own demons and we need to go to the end to see whether they take a chance on the future … I cannot wait to see what the writer will give us in her third book!

Trouble in Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2
by Donna S. Frelick

This is the second book in this series and it’s just as compelling and entertaining as the first one. I was glad to see some of the same characters in this book and meet some new ones. This book can be read as a standalone, it is my suggestion that you read the first book in this series because it’s a great read and you meet some of the characters from this book. This story was full of action, vivid detail, great world building, and romance, everything I could ask for in a great sci fi. Lana is an FBI agent who is strong and independent. Gabriel is also a strong character with some mystery to him. The attraction is between the two is obvious but can they get to Asia and her son before something happens to them? The author definitely took me on a wonderful adventure and I can’t wait to read the next one to find out where I will be taken next. I highly recommend this book.

All That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway – Review by Liz Vrchota

All That's Left UnsaidAll That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Be prepared to take a breathtakingly beautiful trip to Positano, a city on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, with Harrie (Harriet). Rowena Holloway has written this positively perfect suspenseful story guaranteed to make you feel as if you have truly jetted across the seas with the character and thrust into this dramatic and suspenseful mystery she is trying to solve. This novel seriously has it all and in the right proportions! Drama, suspense, mystery and intrigue are laced with hints of romance and a hunky Italian man to sweep you off your feet. I won’t go into details on the way things become such a twisty suspenseful read because frankly that would ruin it and I can’t bare to do so. The cover promises family secrets set to become exposed and that is truly the best way to sum this up. So prepare yourself a nice glass of wine and slip away to Italy. I guarantee you it will be a fabulous adventure you won’t regret taking! I personally can’t wait to see what else is to come from the ever talented Rowena Holloway. I know I will for sure scoop it up asap! Happy reading!

4 Stars!!!!

What an absolutely fantastic finale book. I found that the authors have such a wonderful group of characters and a refreshing plot and story. I found myself unable to put this book down. I really enjoy paranormal stories and characters. I felt as though I was there in the midst of the action.

I really found myself associating with Lorelei. She has so much to lose but so much to gain and I felt as though I was going through the emotions and drama as she was. I like how she is able to grow and move on from her past and how she is able to change the world she lives in. I really found that the authors were able to bring the plot and story to a great ending. The characters draw the readers into the drama. I really would like to read more from the authors in the future.

What an absolute fantastic ending. I was so excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. The author has done such a wonderful job of keeping the reader hooked and drawing the story to an ending. The book was just such an addicting read.

The twist that the author brings into the story was quite unexpected but so good. I like how the book was not predictable. I like how the author balances the action and drama with a slight romance undertone. The characters are also so drawing. They just jump right off of the pages and I felt as though I was in the thick of the action with them. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Monty and the Monster by Rhonda Smiley – Review by Angela Hayes

Monty and the MonsterMonty and the Monster by Rhonda Smiley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Monty and the Monster by Rhonda Smiley is an adventure ‘chapter book’ written with 8 – 13 year olds in mind, I imagine. But I am waaaay older than that and still enjoyed this cute story, so I guess it can be appreciated at any age.
Monty Hyde is in the seventh grade, he’s moved around a lot and always seems to be the ‘new’, awkward kid in class. His brother never seems to have any problem fitting in, he’s popular wherever they go, and his father is always seems to be working. Leaving Monty feeling a bit isolated, and very lonely. He would love nothing better than to have a close friend, someone to just accept him, and to hang out with. So, the story takes an interesting turn when Monty discovers a replication serum in the basement- and decides to ‘create’ his own friend. What happens next makes for a really fun and touching read.

Thank you, Ms. Smiley!

Tails Always Wins (Chasing Tails Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Erin Wolf

Tails Always WinsTails Always Wins by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Tails Always Wins (Chasing Tails Book 1) by C.A. King, 5 stars.

After a horrible childhood, Tails has dedicated her life for the cause of shifter freedom. In a world on hate, most humans look at shifters as nothing more than animals. All she wants is equality. Her boss tasks her with bringing a wolf shifter named Brodie to help their cause. Brodie has always lived under the radar, never bringing attention to what he really is. All that changes in a heartbeat. With nothing left but to go along with Tails, he has no idea if he can really trust her or the one she works for. But things may not be what they seem. Will they learn the truth? What can they do about it?

This is a great beginning to a series. The characters are great. They live in a very unjust society and all they want is to be free and happy. They story itself is quite interesting. I can’t say I have read anything quite like it before. It is full of action too. I could not put the book down until I was finished. I hope to see much more of this series in the future.

If you like paranormal reads, this book is for you.

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3 is a compilation of short erotic stories that can be read super fast. There isn’t a complex storyline in the stories but more of just the quick sexy read!

This book follows Brad and his sexcapades and wow! Seriously the pages literally singed on how hot every story was! I won’t even lie some of them had me blushing and that’s something that’s hard to do!

I loved this book so much that I’m about to go and hunker down to read the first two volumes!

5 ++++++++ Stars

Trying to figure out why if I’m so angry after finishing this book I am still giving it 5 stars…
Well because it brought out emotions that have made it hard to write this review although I finished the book almost a week ago.

I read after the story was done and totally understand what this author was trying to accomplish with this whole series and she did it beautifully, that doesn’t change the fact that I had hopes of some things ending differently. Early in this book I even had an idea of something that might turn into another series after this series was done, taking place in Canada and I think I was just hoping I was right.

With all of the above being said…This series was out of this world amazing. When a group of 3 books can have this sort of affect on me I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this author is in a class of her own, I actually already knew that but this whole series has proven it.

Not going to add anything pertaining to the storyline because it would be nothing but spoilers for anyone that hasn’t read the first two and YOU HAVE to read the first two. They are all short reads packed full of content you need going into this last part.

This author sits firmly in my top favorites and there won’t ever be a book I wont read by her.

I also already want to read all 3 of these again back to back!

The Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys SeriesThe Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traitor by India Kells a five-star read that you will adore. Secrets will be revealed in this story and people will surprise you, on occasions some make you want to kiss them and in others they make you want to hurt them. I enjoyed the Debt Collector, but I adored the Traitor, as the characters just seem more real, and more determined. Spenser Knox and Josie Baird will just make you have a need to turn the next page quicker than the last, Josie in particular just made me care for her strength and envy her self-determination. I must say a special mention to Gage, he just had a special sparkle.

Out Bad (Sinners or Saints Book 1) by Janice M. Whiteaker – Review by Lisa Helmick

Out BadOut Bad by Janice M. Whiteaker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This wasn’t a favorite at the beginning. There was too much inter thinking and over thinking. I can see why the author did this but it got old for me fast. All the I’m not good enough or I want to be better thoughts. Some are fine but too much just becomes mind numbing. This is not to say I didn’t like the book because I did. The characters were very secretive but I enjoyed them. The dynamic between Heath/Gabbi and Joe/Gwen was fun. The teasing and advice were great for the story. Heck even Niko, the plumber apprentice, peaked my interest.

Joe is sweet. He tries every day to redeem himself for or past. It was interesting how he tries to show Gwen all that he can do for her. Make her need him…want him….love him. I loved the whole farmhouse idea. He really seemed to see what he wanted. Then do anything to go after and acquire her. He is probably the nicest, sweetest tough guy out there. Is Joe a Sinner or a Saint?

Claimed by Via Mari is the third book in the Torzial Affair series. This is a series that I would recommend reading in order as it follows the same characters throughout.
This book is the perfect ending to this series. It was everything you could want and more and it has to be my favourite of this series easily. Most of the way through the book it felt like me heart was pounding and I was on the edge of my seat. It was fast paced and such an intense read, I loved it.
You really grow to love these characters over the course of the 3 books and that is definitely thanks to the authors fantastic writing. She creates such real and engaging characters. I instantly knew that Brian and Jenny were going to be the kind of characters that I was fully behind.
If you aren’t familiar with Via Mari already then I cannot recommend enough that you rectify that immediately!

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Maura Harper

Finding RuthFinding Ruth by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mother / daughter relationships are so complex and ever changing. As a woman who recently lost my mother, I was a little worried going into this book. I wasn’t sure what emotions it would evoke.

Real life is stranger than fiction. as shown in this book about finding out who your mother was vs who she is now. I am so glad the author is self aware enough to be able to move on after the example of parenting that was set for her.

The story is written with an unbiased view of a woman who went through some tragic events.

I have always enjoyed this author’s stories and I’m glad to get to know her just a little bit more.

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Michelle Austin

Finding RuthFinding Ruth by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Ruth was an emotional 5 star read about Cynthia’s mother Ruth’s struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Cynthia wanted to know more about her mothers history through the years. As she goes through personal effects etc..she starts to learn about her mother. Ruth had so many different life experiences some good and some not so great, heartbreaking actually.

As Ruth gets older she starts to develop signs of Alzeimers. With this she begins to lose some of the dark and hurtful memories and only remember the good.

Overall this story really tugged at my heart. Having a friend who recently lost a grandmother to this disease brought several emotions out in me. The way that Cynthia writes her story you feel like your right there with her experiencing everything. I was done with this book fairly quickly, once I started I didn’t want to stop. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3 by Joyce McCarthy is a collection of erotic short stories about Brad and his conquests. It is a very quick and easy read as each story is only a few pages but they are well written and extremely explicit. Any woman who he comes across is not off limits, from a bored housewife, a hooker, his boss and a manager of a hotel, to name but a few. Brad’s exploits are hot, hot, hot and definitely sizzle between the sheets, that is if he makes it there or somewhere else.

If you want something tantalizing, something a little erotic or something light then grab a copy and prepare to be in need of a cold shower.

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Finding RuthFinding Ruth by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover her Mother’s Past is the only thing I have read by Cynthia Hamilton. It’s not the type of book I normally read, but it sounded really interesting. It must have been hard for her to write such a lengthy and honest telling of her mother’s life. It wasn’t an easy one, full of glamour, but I bet what she learned explained a lot about her childhood. At times this was hard for me to read, knowing it was a true story, not a sad fictional story of hardship. I did continue to wonder throughout, why Ruth continued to marry, when one marriage after another fell apart. But it was a different time. I cannot speak to how it would have been to be a single mother in those times. I wish more time was spent on the later years, since the description’s mention of Alzheimer’s is what drew me in. It wasn’t brought up until the very end, but I still really enjoyed the story. I never got bored, and kept wanting to know what happened next and if Ruth would ever get her happily ever after. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys biographies about non-famous people. It was a captivating story and I give props to the writer for sharing such a hard story.

The story Shameless (The Orphan Train Saga Book 2) by Sherry A. Burton is a historical fiction book. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I read it. There are heartbreaking and heartwarming scenes in this book. I enjoyed reading about Tobias. His life is one that is a rough and tough one. At an early age, he finds that he has to depend on his wits to survive. A fast learner in the ways of the streets he soon finds himself caught up in the Purple Gang. Along the way he finds Mileta. His protectiveness of her knows no bounds. Read this story to get Tobias’s full story of how he lives and survives. This is a book that touched my heart and I found myself caring about Tobias. He is the product of the time in which he lives. The one bright spot in his life is Mileta. I also enjoyed reading about Cindy and her mother. They continue a journey through the journals that were hidden in the attic. This is a series that I should be read in order as it makes for a better understanding of the storyline of both books. I look forward to more stories in this series. Highly recommended.
