My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series that I enjoyed just as much as the first. This is a continuation from the first book, I highly recommend reading in order. In this book, Cindy and her mother continue to find secrets hidden in her grandmother’s journals. We get to see Tobias journey and his struggles. I felt for him as he did what he needed to do to survive. I had a hard time putting this book down, I needed to see what was going to happen at the end. I highly recommend this book.

Into Pieces (Shattered Hearts Series Book 2)
By: Nicole Banks
5 out of 5 stars

The story Into Pieces (Shattered Hearts Series Book 2) by Nicole Banks is a contemporary/new adult book. It is the next story in a wonderful series. I was hooked from the beginning of the book and soon found myself lost in both the storyline and the characters. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Jasmine and Angel. This is the continuation of their story. They both have demons that they are dealing with. Both believe they are broken. Can they both learn to trust and to lean on each other? There is a crazy physical attraction between them. There is a strong connection and chemistry. Do their hearts belong to each other as well? What does the future hold for Jasmine and Angel? Read this book to find out. This story does have moments that are suspenseful and had me turning pages to find out what happens next. The book also has scenes that are very steamy that make the temperature in the room rise. The additional characters are familiar in this story as they were brought forward from the first book. I enjoyed reading about how they are living. While many of the characters in this story are helpful and have friendly interactions with Jasmine and Angel, there are some who have their own agenda and plans that they want to succeed. I have grown to care about Jasmine and Angel and I can’t help but want them to find happiness. Don’t miss out on a story that you won’t be able to put down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend reading it. This is a series in which the books read in order. This story does have some sensitive content. Reader discretion is advised.

This is the second book in this series, I loved it just as much as the first. I highly recommend reading this series in order to help know where Angel and Jasmine have been to where they are now. In this book we get to know and see a little more of each of these characters. They each are struggling with their own pasts, battle after battle which kept me turning pages just to see what would happen next. Is there HEA in their future? They are awesome characters and their story is a must read.

Eternity: A Paranormal Romance Novella (Captivity 3)
By Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk
5 out of 5 stars!

This story is even harder to put down then the previous two. I was pulled into the shifters adventure from the moment they out their mission plan into motion. After making the heartbreaking decision to leave her precious Dougie behind, Lorelei joins her friends in their most dangerous quest yet, trying to save the future of their kind.
Again, Ms. Biglow and Ms. Zenk have used description that makes the reader see the story unfold. The emotions felt by Lorelei, Aiden, Xander, and the rest of the shifters are intense and are real enough to jump off of the page. Each page brings excitement and leaves the reader waiting impatiently to see what happens next.
Help yourself to the conclusion of this exciting series by reading Eternity today! I highly recommend it!

Finding Ruth
By Cynthia Hamilton
4 out of 5 stars

Cynthia Hamilton is a vibrant and descriptive writer. This story is fast paced and entertaining. Personally I was confused by the book blurb which explained it was a journey by a daughter to reveal her mother’s past. I would not have known this was the case by just reading the book. I would have liked to have seen the epilogue as the prologue and then lead into the story of Ruth’s life.
Miss Hamilton tells the story of her mother’s adventure to find herself the perfect life and the series of attempted and failed relationships along the way. Cynthia relays the relationships that her mother had with her and her siblings as well as the changes to it through the years.
Aside from my initial confusion, I found this to be a wonderful account of Cynthia’s journey to know her mother.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee is the third book in the Deadliest Sin series. This is a series that does need to be read in order as each one follows the same story and is a continuation throughout.
From the moment I started reading this series I knew that I would be in for a ride. After reading the first two books I knew that this one would be the most exciting of them all. And the author definitely takes you on such a ride. It is fast paced and intense right from the start. The book has so many twists and turns the whole way through. I honestly wasn’t sure which way this was ever going to go as this author really isn’t scared to turn things on their head.
The characters were so exciting to read about, I simply couldn’t get enough of them. I would have loved if this book were longer as I really didn’t want it to end. If you haven’t read this series then I cannot recommend enough that you put it to the top of your to read pile.

Tails Always Wins (Chasing Tails Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Angela Hayes

Tails Always WinsTails Always Wins by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tails Always Wins is the first book in the Chasing Tails Series by C.A. King. This is a paranormal thriller- with an interesting and thought provoking story, which has a distinct dystopian feel to it. The story is everything I have come to expect from Ms. King- well written, intriguing, engaging, dramatic- and with a bit of a hidden ‘message’. The characters are quite complex, fully developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks and flaws- and written so well that they seemed very realistic and believable.
We are introduced to Brodie, who lives in a world where the government had imposed quite sever laws- which resulted in the extinction of several species. Now the government has targeted shifters, and Brodie is swept up in the net. He has always led a peaceful life, but now he has to choose to either face imprisonment and possible death- or join in the fight. He is sure there is more to the resistance and the situation than first meets the eye. Is there a hidden agenda? Will he uncover the truth? What will he do when the truth is revealed? And what part does Tails play in the story? All these answers and so much more can be found between the covers of this terrific story.
There are challenges to be faced as this adventure unfolds. Brodie and Tails will have to work together to beat the odds and figure things out. I followed along every step of the way as these two grew and developed over the course of the story, learning much about themselves, each other, about the past, and what the future may hold. It was so well done; with a few unexpected developments I definitely didn’t see coming. What a brilliant way to start a new series. I can’t wait to see where we go from here!
Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, Ms. King!

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys SeriesThe Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traitor is the 2nd book in the Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells. It is a fantastic M/F/M erotic romance novel that will have you gripped from the very beginning. India Kells is an author that has been rapidly climbing up my favourite authors list in the last 18 months and this book is another fantastic example of how great an author she is.
I loved both of the main characters. Josie is a young woman struggling with several jobs to pay off debt incurred by her estranged husband. Spencer Knox has recently moved to the town to start a new life. When he realises the horrid conditions she’s living in her insists that she moves in with him and his friend Gage. This is just the start of an erotic relationship between the 3 of them.
The sex scenes between the 3 of them are very hot and steamy. You may need a fan to cool yourself down. It becomes apparent after a while that Josie and Knox would prefer it to just be the 2 of them in the relationship.
There is more to this book than just hot sex (although that is damn good). Knox has a battle with his demons over his growing feelings for Josie. Josie’s estranged husband makes an unwanted appearance which puts Josie in danger.
I also loved that we had an appearance from Locke and Tessa from the first book in this series.
I hope that this is not the end of this series and that India Kells gives us more from the Underground Bad Boys.

Every time I think I have found my favourite book from this author along she comes with her next release and does it again! I think the majority of my top 50 books belong to this author. Every single one is amazing and the third and final book in The Deadliest Sin series is of course no exception. I have loved this series, which does need to be read in order, and Surviving Wrath was just the perfect conclusion to it. Although I am, as always when a series by Ms McNamee finished, sad that it’s over that just means there will be something new out soon!
After the cliff-hanger of book 2 we were straight back into the action with the beginning of this book. I loved seeing things from Rea’s side although the story was quite short and 100% left me wanting more. The author managed to save some shock and surprises for this story too which was fantastic – she definitely saved the best until last with this one!
As mentioned before the series must be read in order but I more than 100% recommend it – it’s a phenomenal read and I can’t wait to see what this amazingly talents author comes out with next!

This was such an unusual but fascinating read. I have read many books by this author but this one looked a little different so I wasn’t too sure about it but it was a really good read. My interest was kept from beginning to end and I loved the unique storyline. I have only recently started reading books about time travel but it seems to be a genre I’m really getting into and so I loved that aspect of this story. As I expected the author attention to detail and beautiful description really added to my enjoyment of the story, she always brings the scenes to life and I love the characters that she creates. I loved Wilda; she was such a great character to read about. She was strong willed, witty and definitely didn’t put it with any funny business!
Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd was an intriguing read that I thoroughly enjoyed! I definitely recommend it to other readers!

I have read a few book by this author now and I love her writing style however this is very different to her other books as it comes from personal experience so I knew I would be in for something new from her. The book was extremely well written, it was heartfelt, personal, raw and very emotional at times. I do applaud the other for taking the time to document something as heart breaking as watching a loved one suffer with this awful condition. A condition that completely strips away the person that you once knew little by little. One I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down, I honestly felt like I was right there living this story with the author at times. I can only imagine how emotional it was for the author to compile everything to write this book but she did an absolutely amazing job and I 100% recommend it to other readers.

Born in Kentucky, Sherry got her start in writing by pledging to write a happy ending to a good friend who was going through some really tough times. The story surprised her by taking over and practically writing itself. What started off as a way to make her friend smile started her on a journey that would forever change her life. I love the arts and how they move you and make you feel.

Reading has always been a great love of mine right after my love of music. Each song written is a story waiting to be told. Which, along with my over active imagination fueled my desire to write about the chaos that goes on in my head.

I love stringing words together. I love making people get lost in a story and connecting with fictional characters that remind them of someone they know.

I published my first book Shattered in 2013. It’s the first installment in the Shattered Hearts Series.

Shattered started out as an assignment for a college course I took at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. After I graduated college I went through my old papers and reconnected with the story morphing into so much more then what I wrote in my college course.

Now you can find me doing yoga, listening to music and working on getting out all the stories in my head, including dabbling in poetry. (Which I’ve always had a secret love affair with).

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is a unique and interesting read. It is set in a time where time travel is possible and anywhere and time you want to go to. It is a suspense mystery that also has a lot of history elements to it. The story Christy has weaved is very vivid that you can imagine all that she describes, sometimes a little too much information that sometimes I found myself skimming. The journey was interesting but a little slow for me and I found myself dragging in the beginning to settle down into the story.

Wilda loves what she does, which is providing authentic outfits for time travelers. She has long since retired from her previous job as a Temporal Agent. When a seriously ill time traveler stumbles into her shop, on the brink of death and asking for help, she is called in to once again help the Agency.

Join Wilda in her adventure back in time to where Norsemen and Vikings reside, Africa and North America where indigenous people reside and Christy gives a history lesson on those times and an adventure to boot.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gwyn McNamee is one of those authors that is next to impossible to accurate to review… I say this because I have increasingly run out of words to describe how great her novels are. The Deadliest Sin Series has been one that I have loved right out the gate and it has been a hellacious ride to this fabulous finale, Surviving Wrath. I am sad to see this series ends, but hopeful because that means that there will soon be a new story to come from McNamee that will sweep me away just as fabulously. This definitely is one you will want to read in order however so if you haven’t first scooped up Wrath, book one, and After Wrath, book two, then you will want to do so immediately and start there. IF I had one thing to say about this book is it was short and so fast paced I feel as if I barely got enough to satiate my palette of Rea’s side of things. But I see the full vision and why she cut things off the way she did. It simply makes me dream of a bonus novella… hint hint lol. Really it is difficult to say anything negative about this book. Rea is the star of this one and as far as details you won’t find them here in my review, for those you will need to devour this read for yourself. I know you won’t be disappointed that you did! Buckle up! You’re in for one heck of a ride!

By: Cynthia Hamilton
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton was a pretty okay read that kept me reading and got the feels flowing.

Out of my normal realm of reading, I didn’t know what to expect. This book pulled me in pretty fast, and it had this nice easy flow that made it easy to follow and read. This story is just as much about forgiveness as it is about a life journey through time and shattered memories. It really gets the feels going, and at times I really felt for Ruth. But I will say that things did get a little repetitive, and parts became are a little dry because of that. It was sadly enough to pull me from this compelling story. But other then that this book is well constructed, well researched, and has so many emotional scene that you can’t help but continue reading.

Overall this book is worth your time and energy; it’s a wonderful summer, or lazy Sunday read. To end this book gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway is a fantastic mystery- full of secrets, suspense, drama, a complicated mother/daughter relationship, manipulation, truth, tangled threads, surprises, clever twists, and great characters.
I have read a few of Ms. Holloway’s books now and have learned that she knows how to tell a great story, which pulls me in and keeps me hooked right till the end- and this book was no different. With this intriguing mystery unfolding against the picturesque back drop of Positano, Italy- giving the story some added richness, and an extra element of interest.
Harriet Taylor is a journalist who has been working in London. When her mother falls ill, she flies home to help care for her. Her mother confides that she is concerned about a friend of hers in Italy- especially since an unidentified skeleton had been found. Her mother is certain it is the remains of her friend. So, with this revelation, and more than a little curiosity, Harriet sets off to Italy to do a little digging into the case. But Harriet will have to dig deep and utilise all her investigative skills, especially when the locals are less than forthcoming- if she’s ever to uncover the secrets that have been kept for so long. When strange things start happening, Harriet wonders how far she’s willing to go to get to the bottom of it all. What does she discover? It’s well worth the read to find out!
Interesting and intriguing!

Thank you, Ms. Holloway!

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1)Discovery by Sherry A. Burton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Discovery by Sherry A Burton is the first book in the Orphan Train Saga. This book is so fascinating and amazingly accurate that you won’t be able to stop yourself from being drawn in.
I love books that, while fiction, are steeped in real life events. And this one has got to be one of the best examples I have ever read. Orphan Trains are one of those things I could vaguely recall hearing about but didn’t really know any details of. This book certainly opened my eyes to the way things actually were. The thought of all those children going through this and how they must have felt really struck a chord with me.
The story was so detailed and vivid it almost felt like I was right there on that very train. The author has such an amazing writing style that suits this type of story perfectly. The characters were so relatable and you connect with them instantly. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as what I did however it easily fits into the category of one of the best I have read this year. I cannot recommend this book enough!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an incredible collection of stories. The one I’ll be reviewing is Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia) By Phoebe Alexander. I knew going in I’d like this story since this author is in my top one clicks but it’s was everything I wanted and more. While is aptly named I was so in love with both sugar and spice parts. The characters Jolie and Cy were everything I was searching for, complex, relatable and a chemistry that jumped right off the pages. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The author tells a tale that captured my heart and wouldn’t let go. I’m so excited for more and can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. I wish I could give more than five stars but five will have to do. I highly recommend this book!
