This is an absolute must read! Dire’s Club by Kimberly Packard is one of my new favorites! It’s at the top of my list for this year!
I was so captivated by this storyline as it had me questioning everything, not in a dramatic mysterious way but more in a re-evaluating my life way. The concept behind Dire’s Club really intrigued me, how come we wait until the last possible moment to do the things in life we desperately want to do? This storyline puts everything into perspective and I’m so grateful that I read this book!
If you are looking for a one of a kind read look no further this is the book for you! This is a book that should be read by all!!

It’s been a while since I read a book by Tammy Mannersly. After the first chapter, I remembered why her books are so good. Brody and Willa had a rough start with a misunderstanding, then it turned into an opposite attraction but wait let’s also throw in an ex into the mix. This was a perfect fast-paced romance to get me out of my book slump. Looking forward to catching up on books by this author.

Charlie and Trent aka Tank, have known each other almost their whole lives. Tank is Charlies brothers best friend and she has always been attracted to him. The sparks were flying with these two and I was here for it! Brothers best friend books are my weakness as I love to see how the brother takes it.
I was so wrapped up in this story and I hope I get to read more, maybe Jude’s book? Or a wedding novella of these 2? Amazing read.

This is another great read by Storm. The author had me hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down. This is the second book in the Her Three Immortals Series.
Vanessa is dead and now living in the Underworld. She has made a couple of friends. She has also brought color back to it. Grey has kept it grey for way too long. The quote I chose for Vanessa is: “I’m here because I’m dead and got lucky not to be voted to go to the middle ground, or worse, the hot-pit haven. I am not that important, Gorgonita. Go ask Charles A**hole Radcliffe in there, and he’ll tell you just how insignificant I am.”
Grey doesn’t usually make deals, but Vanessa wormed her way in. Not only to his world, but in his heart. He isn’t sure what to make of her. The quote I chose for Grey is: “Where do you suggest she hid my brother’s soul? I searched every square inch of the Underworld for him myself.”

If you knew your days were numbered – what would you do? I’d like to think everyone would want that one last wish. Packard’s characters have all been diagnosed with terminal illnesses but there is a bright light – Dire’s Club. Jimmy Dire, who runs the club, has built a business around the dying – offering a get away from life’s final moments and allowing an people to experience one last hoorah with people who are in the position. As I’ve heard many times in my own life – “Live like your life depends on it”. The characters are very complex individuals and no details are left to the reader to determine. Understanding that they are all dying and that there is no future is the biggest heartbreak of this book. The ending does provide some hope to all and the belief that life goes on, even without our loved ones.
This is a must read that is emotional and very touching. Be prepared to cry some tears – Packard has delivered a five star book!

After the kidnapping and trafficking Delilah was saved from, she’s had to process the trauma and emotions that came with those experiences. At the same time, the conversation about what her and Christian are has been looming in the background for months. Wanting to be his mate as a human has come with more strings than what she thought was possible. Now, it’s her turn to take revenge on those that hurt her. Vampire or not, Delilah with use the resources she has to gain control back in her life.
I liked this sequel but I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I did the first. The author repeated a lot of the tropes she used in the first book so a lot of surprise I felt in the first book were not there when I encountered similar situations in this second book. Over all I think Delilah was a decent character but I feel like she was too impulsive which wound her up in more dangerous situations than if she worked through things with Christian or even talking with Lucianna and Embry. I was a little invested in the relationship but I really appreciated some of the choices Delilah made in the final few chapters. I’d be interested in seeing what happens in book three but not sure how quickly I would get to it.

Master Christian Tuscano is the head of the Tuscano house and he has a score to settle, someone kidnapped the woman he wants to be his mate, Delilah and he wants answers as to the who and why, so he goes to the only source they currently have and treats them the same way they treated the woman he loves and it was shamefully and a way that nobody should ever be treated. As he gets the answers he wants, he thinks about Delilah and how her experience has changed her, how the light has gone from her eyes and she is just a muted version of her once bubbly self, however, when he returns home to find that she has gone and only left him a letter, he is enraged and worried that something else will happen to her.
Meanwhile, Delilah is making her way to find the person responsible for her kidnapping and degradation, however she wants to keep herself and her whereabouts from Christian so that she can do something by herself for once, but this plan backfires when despite her best efforts. He is going out of his mind with worry, so Christian has called in some help and found where Delilah is and just in the nick of time when someone else bursts in on the same scene to take the person she is meeting out and she has been caught in the crossfire, so just before her life ebbs away, permission is granted to turn her and allow her to become a vampire and not just be with one.
While the attack left Delilah in a precarious situation, the person they are all after manages to escape, so the hunt is on again, however, keeping Delilah safe and secure is harder than ever when she transitions and her new powers come to the fore and some shifters come after her and while a precarious deal is struck with the syndicate to take the bounty off of their heads in return for them being given the troublemaker once the Consulate have gleaned all the information they can out of them. The shifters are not the only ones after her though and new information comes to light which casts a shadow on everything Delilah knows and trusts involving a coven of witches, but will she be able to do what she needs to do and also be accepted by the rest of the Consulate, or will she have to leave everything she wants behind to protect the one she loves? Will Christian be able to help Delilah to overcome her trauma and teach her to accept her new life, or will one of the groups after them get to their target before they do? This is a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs with a romantic twist throughout, where secrets and lies abound to weave a twisted tapestry of truths which will hook you in from start to finish.

Journeys Through TimeSpace Is the second book in the Journeys Through series. I highly recommend reading the first book before reading the second one. The books really build on each other, and it wouldn’t be as good of a read alone. This is another not fluffy read that really makes you think. The characters really pulled me in, and I loved how I related to their friendship and bond together. James Talisman is a talented author, and he weaves a wonderful tale that is worth the time!

This book hit my soul hard. M. Billiter takes you through a lifelike experience of a mother and her son as he battles mental illness.Branson is a teen who feels alone as he navigates his world. He hears noises that eventually turn into voices telling him what to do. Branson has to live his life in high school hiding the voices and appearing “normal” until he no longer can. M. Billiter did not hold back, exposing gritty scenes that no one wants to believe can happen. I thought I understood mental illness before this book, but now I feel my eyes are far more open. I am looking forward to reading book two. Thank you M. for sharing the “not so perfect” side of people!

PHENOMENAL!!! Talk about a book that feels close to the future. This book gave me chills. The author has packed it full of thrills, mystery and suspense. When Cole has to depend on total strangers, I could feel for him. To lose trust in everyone you love is harsh and devastating but you have to try to figure out what’s going on. So well-written that I just couldn’t put it down. I had to read it every chance I had. The characters were each well-developed. You have to read this. 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend.
5 Stars Written in the Stars (Mothers and Daughters Collection) by Angela Christina Archer
Written in the Stars is a wonderfully written story about adoption and finding who your birth parents are. This is a story that will literally take you on a emotional rollercoaster ride like no other. I cried and at times flat out ugly cried, my heart absolutely broke and at times it warmed my heart I can relate to this from a family member of someone who adopted and it was hoop after hoop and it took a toll but totally worth it in the end. My brother and sister in law adopted three beautiful children that were all siblings. Grab a box of kleenex and be prepared to experience every emotion possible with this must read book. I found myself lost in the pages and stayed up way to late because I had to know what was going to happen next. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. If you haven’t already started this series go grab the first book as its just as good as this one.

Forbidden Mate is quite the ride! Action is packed between steamy moments and suspenseful adventures. This book is the absolute opposite of predictable. It is a page-turner that keeps you on your toes and simply anxious to find out what happens next. But the author definitely didn’t forget to add just the right amount of hope and love. If you liked the first of this series, you will love this continuation! I CANNOT wait to read the conclusion!!

Caught By Him by Tammy Mannersly was a well written short story with a quick romance. It was an easy read, but I have to say I am so sad that it was a short story! With Mannersly easy writing style and well put together thoughts, this could have been a whole novel easily!
Following the couple was so much fun, and from the second Carmody’s name is mentioned we know we hate her! Introducing Hayden makes us want to punch him too! While this was quick and to the point, Mannersly makes sure we feel all the emotions.

This book was very mature in both writing style and plot. As a recently acclaimed adult (20 as of a few weeks ago) I found this book to be hard to connect to until a little farther in. The writing style is exactly what I look for! But talking about divorce and having adult children and fund-raising projects, made it a little less connectable for me, but after the plot got going, I did not care! I was up until 2 a.m. so I could finish!
Liz was having such a hard time between her friends and her ex-husband that visiting the little summer town of Red River was exactly what she needed. But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for a while. But Matt, his daughter Sarah, and Liz’s daughter Lauran make it as enjoyable as they can for her. It warmed my heart everytime they would crack a joke or mention Charley. Marsha R. West certainly has a way with words that allows even people with few life experiences begin to connect with her characters!

Dating The Intern is a great contemporary romance by Natalina Reis. I have read a few of her books before and have really enjoyed what I have read and was looking forward to reading more of her work. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others. Ivory Tower owns a very successful online dating business but when a TV show wants to feature her, they want to see how her love life is going. The problem is that Ivory is single. That’s when her gorgeous intern Li Qiang steps in and offers to play the part of her adoring boyfriend. Li Qiang is 10 years younger than her and is drop dead gorgeous. How can she help but not fall for him. Ivory is gorgeous and successful so how can Li Qiang help not falling for her? I loved reading Ivory and Li Qiang’s story. I’m a sucker for a fake romance and an office romance and this book encapsulates both tropes very well. I loved both characters. They are very well written and very relatable and their interactions make for very entertaining reading. If you like and office romance or a fake boyfriend romance then Dating The Intern is the book for you.

I loved the first book – and then I read this one and I think I may love it more!😭 From the beginning I was sucked in, even with the little bit of foreshadowing in the first book. I was so intrigued! The dark vampire aspect, forbidden love, revenge plot, steam, action. This book checks all of these boxes for me. And Christian & Delilahs chemistry is undeniable. Raven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber is a very short dystopian paranormal story with a bit of a dark tone, drama, the supernatural, shifters, a survivalist community of fringe dwellers, danger, action, and more. I did like the premise, as well as the few clever touches that Ms. Koerber wove into her storyline- but I would have loved to have read a longer and more in-depth version of this story. There were so many details that I wanted to know more about, and have more backstory/background information, as my curiosity was piqued. Also, there were times I felt like I was ‘missing’ something, which disrupted the flow of the story for me and gave it a bit of a wandering and somewhat fragmented feel. As expected from Ms. Koerber, this was a very interesting story with thought provoking elements. I like her originality- and there was definitely more to the story and character/s than first meets the eye. The story had me drawing the conclusion that aspects of this story could very well happen in our future.

Slow Burn is the second book in the Breathing Hearts series by A.K MacBride. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. MacBride, so I was interested to see what she had to offer. I like a good slow burn romance and the premise sounded quite promising, so I soon found myself with a copy of my own, ready to explore between the covers. What I found was a wonderful story full of emotion, self-doubt, pain, starting over, self-discovery, chemistry, sizzle, romance, and hope. Adam hides his pain behind a gruff and grumpy exterior. His past is a painful burden that weighs heavily on his soul. Maddie’s dreams of a career in dancing- but has gotten a little stuck in her small-town life. Adam pushes people away using rudeness as a way of ensuring no one gets too close. But he wasn’t prepared for the spark of life that Maddie brings into his stagnant and moody world. Will Maddie be able to break down his defences enough to take a chance on love? Or will insecurity, pain, and self-doubt destroy any possibility of happiness? Like I said earlier, this is a slow burn romance- and at times this story felt extra slow. There were moments of frustration where I wanted to shake these two and tell them to get their act together. But thankfully this didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Tainted by Marsha R. West is a great romantic suspense story that really kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages to see where it was going. The author has done such a wonderful job of building the story. The characters were engaging and I felt like I got to know them throughout the book. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading more in the future.

Drew is the first book in the Perfectly Independent Series by Amanda Shelley. This is new adult college sports romance – with a sweet but somewhat predictable story. This is the first book that I have read by Amanda Shelley, so I was interested by what I might find here. Drew is the popular captain of the college basketball team, who unfortunately doesn’t make the best impression on Abby in Lab class. To make things more awkward, they are paired together as lab partners. With the basketball season in full swing, Drew can’t afford to be distracted, no matter how intriguing he might find the distraction to be. Will chemistry get the better of them both? You’ll need to grab a copy if you want to find out how everything plays out.

This is the second installment in the Journeys series by James Talisman. In book one, we are thrown into a multi-verse, where characters come from different places and backgrounds. In this book, the battle to save Earth continues, but this battle is a little different. Instead of only traversing across the multi-verse, the characters are now traveling through time as well. I highly suggest reading book 1 (Journeys through SpaceTime) before heading out on this adventure, as it will make much more sense. I was very happy to see some of my favorite characters from book 1 return (but I won’t spoil who!), and learn more about who they are, and why. I was so invested in this series, wondering and hoping along with the characters, that good will overcome evil (in a sense). I am not typically a sci-fi reader but this series had me on the edge of my seat and I flew through the pages without effort. I truly hope to see a 3rd book in this set, and 110% recommend this series to everyone! 10 out of 10 stars, easily.

Caught By Him by Tammy Mannersly is a fun opposites attract contemporary romance. This is a story about finding love unexpectedly. I really enjoyed meeting Brady and Willabelle- their story made for a sweet read. They were really well developed and likeable- it didn’t take long for me to become completely invested in them and their story. connected with them right away. It might have been a case of ‘opposites attract’ to begin with, but they really were perfect for each other. The story is quite captivating, with some emotion and enough drama to make things quite interesting Brady is famous movie star and Willa is house sitting the property next door. A lost key brings these two together and so the sparks fly. But will jealousy and interfering exes destroy their chance at happiness! Another engrossing story from Ms. Mannersly. Looking forward to seeing what she does next.

It touches so many children’s feelings and fears. We all know there are several aspects to a person’s life. All the things that make us us. Things we can not keep from our children as they are right out in front of us. How we handle the questions and ease the fear, this story could help sometimes we need extra. This is just that book. Samantha Shannon has taken the time to write this book, plan for those questions. She has also found things for parents to follow up with. All listed in the back of her book. This is a teacher’s delight as well. So many things will be discussed in this one children’s book. It is a must read for everyone. Parents, Teachers, Preschools and Schools. This is the second book I’ve read by Black. This is also the second book in the Master of the Consulate Series. It does need to be read in order, although it’s about a different master.
Christian is one of the Masters and he is getting his revenge for his mate. When she needs to be turned because she is injured he does it. They go through more than enough challenges. The quote I chose for Christian is: “Very well, but the next time you feel that need is so great, you are going to harness it, and I am going to teach you how to do exactly that.”
Delilah wasn’t exactly ready to become a vampire. Or so she thought. Once it happens she finds that people who took her in may be the reason she got kidnapped. The quote I chose for Delilah is: “Traitor shifters! The vampires have never done anything but respect your place in the universe, and for this, you repay us this way?”

Journeys Through TimeSpace is the second book in the series by James Talisman and starts where Book 1, Journeys Through SpaceTime, leaves off. Our three young heroes return in Book 2, and it is up to this trio to save Earth from a powerful enemy. They have travelled to a secret and hidden place deep in the Himalayas to train and prepare for their quest. A quest that has them travelling between the past and the future to find treasures that are required to save Earth.
I loved reading this book and highly recommend it because it is truly intriguing and really had me thinking about the concepts of time travel, parallel universes, and the fascinating concept of a MultiVerse. I especially loved reading about the MultiVerse and was anxious to see how the story would unfold between the various characters and each of their planets. As I delved deeper into the book, I was introduced to the concept of the seven important principles which embody all of creation. This quickly had me thinking and wanting to explore these seven important principles farther.
Journeys Through TimeSpace is very well written and there is a great amount of detail in the story throughout its entirety. Each world is described vividly, really drawing you into the scene and the lives of the characters. My three favorite characters were our brave young heroes who have an amazing and unique friendship. Regardless of the numerous obstacles they are faced with in both the past and the present the bond between the trio remains strong and unwavering. Not only do I highly recommend this book but I think that both books would make great movies!

Drew: Book One of the Perfectly Independent Series by Amanda Shelley – Review by Allyson Ware
Okay, I hardly ever read romance novels. Quite frankly, I find them boring. But it was almost impossible for me to put this book down. Going back and forth between Drew’s and Abby’s thoughts, I was going to die of anticipation. I had to keep reading in order to find out what happened next.
I have never read a romance novel before that left me dying to read another. I was so enveloped in their world that I couldn’t get anything done until I finished the book. Waiting to find out whether or not Drew and Abby were going to have to separate and live across the country was the best/worst part of this book. And it all started with a chemistry class.

The God (Her Three Immortals Book 2) by Hazel Storm 4 Stars
The story continues where book one finished. Vanessa is in the Underworld, stuck in Grey’s penthouse of all places. Grey is not particularly happy about it. His attraction for her scares him so he avoids her like the plague. Being alone, Vanessa makes some interesting friends. A serpent haired gorgon who is stuck in a mirror and a giant caterpillar who is always hungry. With the help of her new friends, she quickly learns about Elysium and realizes that she has a new talent, one that can get her in a lot of trouble with the Queen of the Underworld ( who happens to be Grey’s mother). Accumulating problems, Vanessa embarks on an interesting adventure.
It was an original story. One that I found to be lighter than the first and quite hilarious where the caterpillar was involved. I loved all the new characters that were introduced in this book. I’m looking forward to reading part three.

This book surprised me. It hit on some issues that most think are sensitive. I related to this character, having been through the same situation. Nyman made this a great read for readers of all ages. I highly recommend it.

Dating the Intern by Natalina Reis a light-hearted and sweet five-star read. I enjoy reading this author, they always have a fresh twist to what ever they write, and I enjoy the writing and the story. It was fun, watching what started as fake and just something to keep others happy ended up showing a much deeper happiness. This has some great characters and set ups, these story is deep enough that you feel the connection but not so deep that you get bogged down, if you are looking for light, funny and charming then this is for you.

This trilogy is one of the most addictive and suspenseful drama’s I have ever read. The three book in the series is Rage, Confusion and Agony and Ecstasy. Linda Burson delivers a crafty and superbly written mystery that I was powerless to part from. You become instantly immersed in the characters and their lives and your life will be more content and fulfilled having read them.
Rage is book 1 in the Marcy Series written by Linda Burson. Rage is the first book by this author that I have read. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and free flowing drama that made up this story.
Marcy was a complex character in many ways, but very simple in others. She also was dramatically erratic. That just made her more endearing. I did not warm to the love of her life quickly or completely. I think he has something he is hiding. Liam is a total different matter entirely. He was a puzzle just busting to be solved. There were many ups and downs throughout, and I lost my way a little, but overall it was a mighty fine read. The story flowed reasonably well, with intrigue, mystery and lots of action. This book was very active and the characters were a delight to get to know.
Linda Burson penned an entertaining and fast paced story, with suspense aplenty. A thoroughly splendid story which will leave a reader hungry for more from this author.
The tantalising trio are back in Confusion, book 2 in the Karcy series by Linda Burson. I sank into this story as I was intrigued by these characters and wondered what this author had in store for us readers this time.
Marcy, Brad and Liam led me on quite the mission, with ke having no idea of the outcome of Confusion. Marcy was her usual endearing self, Liam just got more attractive and sensual. But Brad annoyed me no end. His character was needed to spice up the drama, but he just appeals to me less and less. I will always have ky heart set on Marcy and Liam together as a couple, and Brad just cramps that style.
Linda Burson added so much to this series with slightly loony characters and the twisty, thrilling mystery to each chapter kept me entertained for hours. I cannot wait for number three.
This melodramatic tale that entwines three exceptional characters comes to a stunning conclusion in Agony and Ecstasy. The quality in which Linda Burson has written this mesmerizing series is captivating and never lacks intensity. This high energy reading experience will be hard to beat.
For Marcy, Liam and Brad, the rollercoaster that is life seems to be on a continuous loop, with no hint of it ever calming down. There were a lot of nail biting moments, and a lot of tears shed. A thoroughly absorbing escape from reality that left quite a profound impression.
This book and series is truly a fabulous read, and one I can highly praise. 4 stars.
