This is the first book I’ve read by AJ Renee. It is Book 4 in the Broderick Coven series. The first thing I appreciated about this book was that even though it was a part of the series, I was able to jump right in and understand everything. AJ Renee gave plenty of background and character development throughout the book where I was not lost, even though I hadn’t read any previous books.
This story is about Carter Broderick, a doctor with magical healing powers, who is blindsided by an instant connection to Vanessa Rayne. Vanessa was equally stricken with Carter. Their connection is strong and unexplainable and passionate. It was so enthralling following them getting to know one another on every level. The scenes of passion were well written. Along the way Vanessa gets herself into trouble with her curiosity and Carter is determined to keep her safe. This book is Adventurous, Romantic, and easy to read in one sitting. I am definitely going to check out the rest of the series and get to know the Brodericks more!

I read James Talisman’s first Journey Through Book and thoroughly enjoyed it. You can read this one even if you haven’t read the first, but there are some repeat characters and I believe you’ll enjoy it better than if you didn’t read it in order. I love how this book grabs you from the beginning and sucks you into another world. The writing style is very descriptive, making it easy to vividly picture everything. Overall another very entertaining read!

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee. This is the 4th book in the Broderick Coven series and its one of my favorites. Its the story of Carter who is a member of the Broderick Coven and his power is healing which is great because he works in a hospital. Vanessa is just a normal human but she knows there are powers out there that are magical. When she and Carter’s path intersect the chemistry is immediate and becomes her protector. As Vanessa digs deeper into the Supernatural world she gains the attention of some bad people and she has to step lightly so that she doesn’t wind up dead. Will Carter and Vanessa be able to make their relationship work with him having supernatural powers and she being a normal human? Will he be able to keep her safe from the bad guys? Bared is book one in the Green Street Girls Romance series by N. D. Jackson. The story was an emotionally charged drama that flowed along gracefully and dramatically. Athena and her soul sisters were ready to take on the world and falling in love was not in the cards for her. Tru comes along and rocks her to her very core. She was unprepared for all of the feelings he invoked, all that he represented and the way he wedged his way into her heart. She had her girls and her business and that was all she needed. Or so she thought. These characters blended together well and despite their individuality, they connected very well and were a pleasure to read about. The author spun a wonderfully intricate and thought provoking tale. A fabulous introduction to the Green Street girls. An endearing story. 4 stars.

Cursed Touch is book four into the Broderick Coven series! I have enjoyed the unfolding of each of the Broderick’s from the very BEGINNING. The author did not disappoint at all in this addition! I love her writing, it pulls you right in and leaves you wanting more! Even though this story belongs to a series, it very may well be read as a standalone. Such a quick easy to read story too! Has it’s share of magical/witchy unknowns and of course romance! Fantastic addition to the paranormal series if I must say. Soooo looking forward to reading the next Broderick Brother’s story!!!

Cursed Touch is the fourth book in the Broderick Coven Series by AJ Renee.
This is a wonderful series that only gets better with each book added. I would highly recommend this book to any lover of romance, magic, or paranormal stories. Honestly anyone else. If you are looking into new genres, start here! I absolutely love this author and what she brings to the table.
Carter has always been a healer, so joining the medical field was nothing for him. He was great at what he did and enjoyed helping people. Sure plenty of crazy things happen when you work in the medical field, but he sure wasn’t ready for the change Vanessa brought into his life.
An action and drama packed tale that is sure to keep you reading well into the night.

This is beautifully written. The flow and plot and characters are so entertaining, Williford really wrote this with emotion. I felt like I had an attachment to this story. It was a nice quick read. This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last.

Niran and Saffie are back and they are in more trouble than ever, Saffie has been found by her husband and the minute they broke down the door to her apartment, Niran knows things will get ugly, but when they hurt Saffie and another right in front of his eyes, it takes all his willpower to act as if it is something he enjoys seeing. He lies and plays the part of a biker who is about to turn tail on his MC and look for something more to his taste, despite the colour of his skin and the person he is trying to convince believes him, the only problem is that Saffie believes him too. After this conversation, they are bundled into their transport and taken to the Crazy Wolves MC Clubhouse, but as Niran keeps playing the part and harming Saffie in the process, he feels physically sick but cannot show it on the outside as he knows that keeping up this pretence in the only chance he has to keep them both safe.

Just as amazing as the books that came before it, this story takes us on a journey of two broken souls and a past that comes back to threaten them once again. Sam is about to make the most important call of his life when he makes a mistake and winds up talking to a woman who just might need him more than he thinks. And just when he thinks that Ellie is going to be okay, that deep dark past I spoke about earlier, yeah that one…well that comes back to hit him right in the face. Sam and Ellie both seem to have similar situations. Both the need to feel like the hero and savior and they both have sordid pasts. These two characters work so well together. You can’t help but fall in love with them and the story itself. I completely love this book and love this series. Of course, I always suggest that you read the series from the beginning that way you aren’t lost. However, you can read this book by itself. This book will not disappoint and I most definitely cannot wait to read the last book in the series!

This book picks up where the first book left off. Lucy has learned who her father is…survived an attack…and is trying to find her way in this new reality she finds herself a part of. Jude is forcing her to train with him in order to harness and improve her demon powers. He is also training Dylan at the same time…which is driving Lucy’s hormones crazy. She loves Marcus and can’t figure out why her mind is even thinking of Dylan that way. On top of that, a new threat has come on the scene that is forcing Marcus away from her while presenting a new enemy that she must face. When she learns the reality of what happens when a demon dies, she is determined to keep her father safe. But when she conjures up a plan that requires summoning the king of demons, will she be able to do it? Or is there another way? Because if there isn’t…then there is going to be quite a price to pay… I enjoyed reading the story. The characters are great. The story takes so many twists and turns that it is hard to figure out who the good guys are. Every action has a part in moving the story along…and I am still left with questions that will hopefully be answered in the next book. Overall, a good book!

Hairball and Homicide is the first book in the Kitty Beret Café Mystery series by Ruth J. Hartman. It is a cute cozy mystery- with some very quirky characters, a colourful cat café, murder, crime + investigation, humour, banter, a little romance, drama, and angst. We meet Ellie Warren who owns the Kitty Beret Café where lattes and kitties abound. Life is good- until one of her crankier customers is found murdered, behind her café… and so the story begins. This is a fun story to read with plenty of detailed descriptions that help set the scene/s. I love the original quirky premise of a cat café mystery series and am curious to see where we go from here. The only minor issue that I had is that the ‘mystery’ in the story got overshadowed somewhat by all the ‘cat’ elements, antics, shenanigans, costumes etc. Some of them were a little too long and involved and disrupted the flow of the actual ‘mystery’- but overall it was a fun and enjoyable story. I did adore Templeton though…

Forbidden mate continues the story of Levi and Tasha so if you haven’t read first book, read it first. It builds on plot of that first book heavily. I love seeing progression of the relationship of our hero and heroine. The secondary characters are so fleshed out in this series as well. The plot continues to thicken as the heroine learns things about herself she didn’t know involving her gifts. Looking forward to reading the next book!!

Hold Me Forever was a great read! It was entertaining, quick, sweet, and I laughed several time while reading this novel. Raven’s story was so good, but I honestly honestly I enjoyed Lark’s better! It was so hard for me to put this book down when I started reading it. I fell in love the moment I read the first page. I really hope Nolan continues this series somehow but I don’t see how. I just love Heron Harbor so much and I don’t want to end! This was a great read and I highly recommend this standalone series!

A straight up sexy romance novel. Despite there not being much in the storyline besides Athena’s reluctant personal growth and the push and pull romance between Athena and Tru this novel kept me engaged, reading more, wanting to know what would happen next.
Can’t say I’ve read a romance novel before where one of the main characters was a professional pool player, and I’m so here for it.
I enjoyed the added backstory of Tru’s mixed heritage and the stressors reared with that. Also, Tru’s mom was a hoot and such a strong supportive side character. I loved the impact she, as well as Imogen and Gwyn has on Athena and Tru’s budding relationship.
I admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the teasing of Athena’s backstory. I feel like it would have had more of an impact if we knew the complete backstory story of what had occurred closer to the beginning rather than hints dropped here and there.
As this is advertised as one of the Green Street Girls romance novels I can’t wait to read more about Imogen and Gwyn, and to see where Tru and Athena are down the road.

When I started this book I didn’t realize it was the 6th in the series. When I realized it was I kept reading anyway because the author explained everything in a way that I could understand the story line even though I hadn’t read the other 5. I still LOVED this book. It is a mystery thriller that had me turning each page in anticipation to find out what happened to the missing and why. I cannot wait to go back and read the other 5 books because Cynthia Hamilton’s writing is phenomenal. She drew me into Madeline and Mike’s world and it felt like I was right there with them trying to solve the mystery. I can’t wait to go back to read the other’s.

Athena is the character that I didn’t know I needed. She is strong and fierce and knows how to run her own businesses and make a hell of a profit. She has her sisters (in name, not blood) and they are proof that a woman can do everything a man can do – even in a predominantly man’s world – and even do it better. I was instantly hooked on this story from the first page and could not put it down until it was finished. The storyline at the beginning tugs on your heartstrings in such a way that makes you root for Athena, Indigo, and Gwyn. This was Athena’s story and it was told incredibly well. I felt her pain, her inner turmoil, and her happiness with every line written. She had an extremely rough time from 17 on and she turned it into one of the best things that could have happened to her. Tru is the epitome of what happens when a good-at-heart man works extremely hard to get where he is in life. There was nothing that came easy for him growing up and he proved that his determination could win out and he could do exactly what he set his heart and mind to. He is a professional billiards player and travels around the world doing tournaments and taking care of his mother. It isn’t until he meets Athena that his past heartbreak becomes something he is ready to move on from. The two of them together made this book something incredible. The chemistry between them was evident from their first meeting and my eyes stayed glued to this book until I soaked up every word. I cannot wait to see more from ND Jackson and the Green St. Girls! If you haven’t read it yet, don’t hesitate. HIGHLY recommend!

This was an intriguing story from the beginning to the explosive end. Both Sam and Ellie are ready to embrace death after different traumatic events begin to take their toll, but a misdialed number brings them together in a twist of fate. Sam seeks out Ellie to make sure she’s okay, and she gets dragged into his dark, twisted world when his dad kidnaps them both for a sick agenda to take Sam under his wing. The pair work together to find an escape, but it’s uncertain if they can survive the mental anguish and seeds of doubt Sam’s dad plants during their captivity. They fall in love, but can they survive long enough to find a happy ending together.

Being dead sure comes with it’s share of surprises, including two new links. One to Mortal Raef in the Overworld, and the second to Grey-Don of the Underworld. The very man she kissed to seal a deal in order to save her brother’s life in exchange for her own. Vanessa’s soul has apparently been sent to Elysium, and there Vanessa will unmask the enemy who has been focused on destroying her. On the way she will also make many new and strange friends. As someone who supports ‘non-traditional relationships’, it was extremely refreshing to read a book that centered around relationships that are defined by how much love you have within you to give. I enjoyed this book more than its predecessor, which is hard to believe because that was an extremely enjoyable read as well. I can’t wait to her next book in the series!

While this is the third book in the Heron Harbor series by Lea Nolan, Hold Me Forever is the first book I’ve read by this author in general. I am usually the kind of reader that NEEDS to start from the beginning if I know a book is part of a series, even if it is a standalone. When I stumbled across the synopsis though, I was really interested in the storyline and less concerned with not knowing any potential background on any of the characters. Fortunately, the book did not disappoint. With characters that you can’t help but love and a home feel, this book is the perfect summer read. I like the chemistry between Lark and Hunter but also LOVED that this book involved family, especially sisters as I have two of my own. I love a fun, lighthearted story that makes you feel like you’re at home, Hold Me Forever did that for me early on. I will really be going back to read the first two installments of this series. Lea Nolan is definitely an author I want to read more of. I would give this book 4/5 stars.

I stayed up – until 3am to finish this book and there are ZERO regrets. We follow Tru and Athena who just so happen meet in a pub that Athena owned. Of course, with a name like Athena she was totally a goddess – and she looked like one as well. The book goes through the hardships of Tru and Athenas lives pre and post meeting. And let me tell you. It is AMAZING. This is the perfect romance book. Their chemistry is amazing – and let me not forget to mention that Athena and I are way to similar for comfort. I would actually bake the author a whole cake for a “sister” story on Gwyn & Indigo because I KNOW those stories would be amazing too. If you want an all around feel good romance, this is for you!

Note: I warn that anyone suffering from any type of abuse may find some scenes in the book hard to stomach and be triggered. There is a mystery of woman being kidnapped and all evidence points to the vampire community. The leader of the vampires has worked centuries to establish human trust and does not wish to lose that trust. Enter in the saucy and strong willed female investigator. She is sent to go undercover and solve the mystery. Then everything goes awry. Needless to say, the magical powers of the vampires are pretty nifty and they can really pack a punch. I could really do without the heroine being made to be subservient. I liked her better when she was strong willed and stubborn. I guess we will see where the next book takes us. If you are into vampires and BDSM, then I guess this would be your type of book. It was a quick read, and kept me interested, so I will give it that. I enjoy a good romance and mystery, but the “Master/Servant” stuff was a bit much for me.

I loved Repair by Trish Williford! My question for every one is are you a Charlotte aka Charlie or a Trent aka Tank? Charlie, the baby of the Hawkins siblings, has had a crush on her oldest brother’s best friend Tank for as long as she can remember. After spending one night together, after the death of his father, she was devastated and left their hometown of Sunnyville not looking back. That is until her fiancé Aiden cheated on her. Tank, a guy who was headed in a downward spiral that is till the night spent with Charlie. She opened his eyes to the possibilities that he’s a better man than he thought he was. Hearing how she believes in him and how she sees him through her eyes, he also realizes he doesn’t deserve her. So he does the only thing he can do, which is lie to push her away, shattering her heart in the process. 8 years later Charlie is finally back in Sunnyville and Tank, now a business owner, has grown in unexpected ways. This book keeps you reading till the very end as well as wanting more. Getting so sucked into the roller coaster of emotions between the two of them. After all these years are they able to light that eternal flame between them? Are they able to keep a civil relationship, for Charlie’s brother Jude? You may just HAVE TO READ to find out!

Stripped (Stripped Book 1) by Stacy-Deanne. This is my first book by this author but for sure won’t be my last. Its the story of Dee Quarter and Connie Wilks who are Baltimore Detectives and new partners. Dee is brought back around to her ex Grayson who is still very much interested in her when she and Connie are called to work on a murder case. She is very happy with Winston her now boyfriend and she doesn’t want to do anything to mess that up but when she is forced to meet Johnathan who is the leader of a Cult called The Circle she ends up getting mixed feelings between Johnathan and Winston. The Circle is a group of women that live and look up to Johnathan. Johnathan is determined to bring Dee on board of the circle. Will Dee lose to Johnathan and end up being a victim and will she lose the love of her life Winston because of this crazy cult. This is a great read about a “Sex” cult and the detective that is determined to shut them down.

Where do I begin? I absolutely adored this book! It was a light, a little cheesy (in the best way!!!) and engaging read. First off, as a proud cat lady, I really appreciated the lengths that Ellie went through for the cats that reside at her cafe. The idea of running a cat cafe that also provides adoption opportunities for these cats is a huge win for me. I would definitely patronize that business and be a part of that. Great premise.
I thought that the mystery of the plot was good. There were, however, parts of the story that I felt became much, were not necessary or confusing to the overall plot but I did like the way it ended.
I thought the naming of her cat, Templeton was very clever. He was an absolute star in this book. I definitely would read more mysteries in the Kitty Beret Cafe series.
Dangerous Curves Boxed Set #1 (Dangerous Curves Books 1-3) by K.L. Montgomery . This is a great boxed set. Its the story of Sunshine Baker the town librarian and her quest to find the money that was stolen from the Library’s annual fundraiser. She and her friends end up in the middle of a mystery. Book 2 is Mystery at the Marina and its about Sunshine and her friends trying to find out what is causing all kinds of sea life to wash up dead on the shore and the 3rd book is Shooting at the Shore which is about Willa Bruce Monroe’s death who was very much against the new development that is coming to town. Sunshine and her friends once again are racing against the clock to find out who is guilty. This is a fun, clean, murder mystery set that will keep you reading til you are finished!
Hanging Softly in the Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra is a detailed story that you won’t be able to put down. The author has created a complex story that weaves together so well. There is a lot going on in this book and I felt like I definitely had to focus on it to keep all the different storylines together. But I loved the way they all developed and how the author handled them all so easily. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was seriously impressed. It was well written, intriguing and a gripping tale. I was pulled into the characters and into everything going on. This is the kind of book I didn’t want to end. This is brilliant book and a great new author to explore.

I really enjoyed this cosy mystery. I enjoyed the little romance and the interaction with the cat Templeton.Its a beautiful relationship between a woman and the cats she loves.
When a women comes into the cat cafe and causes a scene with Ellie the owner the lady vows that Ellie will regret meeting her. How right she was.
When the same lady turns up dead behind Ellie’s cafe things start to take a dangerous turn not only for the person who was murdered but also for Ellie.
With help of her precious cat Templeton helping and providing clues to the real killer you are taken on a ride from beginning to end. Can Ellie and Templeton solve the case before the murderer strikes again?

Oh my stars! I would give this book higher than 5 stars if I could. Erin and Ripper’s story just got me in the feels. They meet at the Free Clinic where she is a nurse. He has been stabbed in an altercation. He’s part of the Diamonds (a gang of older members). The chemistry is there from the start. Through a series of misadventures, a friendship/romance builds. Shock is there when they find that Erin’s stepfather is an important leader in the Diamonds but Erin stands up for herself. There is; some trouble brewing at the wharf which brings physical harm to all, including Erin. These two get through it all with courage, strength (even after important history is shared).I didn’t see that ending coming. The author did a tremendous job with this story. She also left it with a cliffhanger that will leave you eagerly awaiting book 2! The characters have flair and personality, Jay and Sebastian are like sassy hoodlums. Erin’s boss feels like any boss you may have had, stern and needs to chill. The neighborhood made think of the bays you see in the movies. Overall, a book you have to read if you like an action-packed romance.
