I was absolutely addicted to this book! I couldn’t put it down! The characters and plot had me hanging on every sentence. Between the chemistry and mystery well woven throughout this book had me hooked from the first page. Highly recommended!

This being the 7th book in the series I was very familiar with the writing style, characters and what to expect in this book and I was not disappointed at all. McKinley did a great job again of making me immediately like these characters. I’m not sure how anyone could read about Mia and not love and admire her. The first chapter was gripping and I was intrigued immediately. I have been very curious about Nico’s characters for several books now and seeing him get his happy ending felt very satisfying for me. Mia using him as a safety net to help protect her while she takes down her own family and the terrible things they have done was one the more interesting backstories i think from the series. It was equally tragic and angering to the point that you are just as upset as the characters and want to see an end to it and the people responsible. A complaint I have had with a few of the more recent books in this series is how fast they go and everything happens in just a few pages. These aren’t exactly instalove stories but they kind of feel that way in the sense that after 2 days of being with Nico she is thinking she loves him claiming she knew him long before because she would sneak into her fathers files and read about him and look at pictures of him. I did find that a little corny but as always the strong sense of family and loyalty these books always have was present here as well and it is easily one of my favorite parts of these books in this series. I do wish we had more girl time with the whole group of ladies because I especially love the way the girls rally together, shop together, cry together but also will kick ass together. Most bad-ass women I’ve ever read about are in these books. There were a few twists that I should have expected but certainly did not and I enjoyed the turn of events towards the end and the way this all played out and was a happy ending was lovely. The perfect balance between steamy romance and violence. I would still recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys mafia romances. I think McKinley does them very well.

The Prisoner of Paradise is a fast-paced historical thriller. This is the first time I have read anything written by Rob and I found myself immersed in the story. It is a tale that takes place between the present and the past, in 16th century Venice.
Rob cleverly pulls together intricate threads to weave a tale with fantasy and magical realism. His vivid narrative transports the reader in time and place as we explore not only the beauty and wonder of Venice with its colour architecture and picturing serenading gondola rides but also the lesser-known dark, secret and seedy side.
The story is compelling and the plot is clever and complex as the danger and suspense grows, I was unable to put it down.
There are secrets and lies, a powerful and secret Order that are dangerous due to their beliefs and actions. With a painting that is not what it seems, a voice from a very distant past, soulmates from another time and past lives; Rob has given the reader a tale that will have you intrigued and wanting more.
I can’t wait to see what comes next.

While on spring break, Angie and her three friends get kidnapped. Angie manages to escape but her friends are killed. She ends up in a psych ward framed for their murders. It’s a good plot but the book is a bit lacklustre. The story needed more depth. Everything is very surface. It’s a thriller but I never once felt an ounce of fear even when Angie was fighting off her attacker. Seeing as this happened at the beginning of the book, it should have gripped my attention but didn’t. I struggled to get into it. Once Jake and Cody entered the story, I found the book more interesting. I loved those two characters and they are what kept me reading.
The police didn’t even look at the evidence which clearly pointed to Angie being innocent. It didn’t make sense. There are multiple points of view which is fine but I found it made this story a bit all over the place. There was Angie, Jake, the killer, his boss (some prince), and a random slave on the boss’s island. It was a bit random. The author had some good ideas which could have been incredible had it been executed properly. It’s an interesting story if you want to pass the time but definitely not a gripping thriller.

In Plain Sight is the eighth book in this wonderful series wow where has the time gone. The series started out a little rocky but I stuck with it and am glad that I did because it has gotten better over time.
Logan always finds herself embroiled in another tangled web. Davisson once again weaves a multi layered and complex plot that draws us in. The Logan McKenna Mystery series has become one of my favourites. I see Davisson’s name and can’t wait to grab a copy and get going. I am never disappointed. I have said it before, but I will say it again with each book Valerie’s stories get better and this one is my favourite so far.
It is filled with intrigue and drama, tension and suspense and danger, lies and deceit, secrets and murder.

A gripping dual timeline, historical thriller, set in Venice, both in the present day and in the 16th century. I was hooked from page one by this novel and could not put the book down! Nick and Julia O’Connor are having a trip of a lifetime in Venice, when Nick hears a haunting voice coming from the world’s largest oil painting, ‘Tintoretto’s Paradise’. Nick believes the voice is that of his soul mate, a 16th century woman, from his previous life. Whilst Nick is adamant that the voice is real, Julia worries that her husband is suffering from a delusion. Nick’s infatuation with the past starts to effect his relationship with Julia, as he is determined to destroy the painting in order to liberate his soul mate. Nick discovers a religious order going back centuries who developed a way of extracting people’s souls, which they then imprison in Paradise.
The order have judged thousands of souls, sentencing then to eternal purgatory. In order for Nick to free his soul mate, he must destroy the painting. However, by freeing her he would also be allowing all the other souls to be reborn, and the order will never let that happen. This has a intriguing storyline which I thoroughly enjoyed, at the heart of this thriller is a love story which lasts for centuries. The descriptive narrative really brought the setting of Venice to life both in the present and in the past. The added historical details made me feel I had been transported to the 16th century, and the author has obviously done his research. The dual timeline element worked well, and I felt engaged with the main characters. The plot kept me happily turning the pages, and I definitely recommend this novel.

This is definitely one of the better retelling of Cinderella that I have read. I was hesitant to give it a go at first but I am glad I did. The characters were brilliant, they really made the book for me. Their connection was instant and believable. I loved watching the connection grow as the story developed.
I thought the book was well written. Easy to read but caught my attention. This is a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This book literally roped me in right from the start I do always very much enjoy the writings and books by this wonderful author, but this one was a special read. I got a lot more than I expected, and I do not mean just romance, I mean story, plot, characters and all that jazz! This book was more than just a good time!
What I loved about this book, was that it really held its realistic notes right to the very end. I felt the characters were very connectable, and able to visualize without faults. I loved the whole forbidden romance, being Noah is Callie’s BFF and that means off limits. I didn’t expect the romance and building between these two to be as hot as it was! I loved their moments and the fire they had between them together. And Noah was great, everything you dream of having n a guy, plus great at those steamy moments sure were a bonus! I loved the dept of the characters, and how they grew within themselves as well around each other! Loved this book!
Once again this author has truly nailed it! I could not put this book down, and certainly did not want it to conclude! High recommendation from me for sure, do not pass up this must read book and author!

With as long as this series has been going for you would think that it would have started to get a bit old by now. And yet with each book added it just gets better and better. I always love jumping back into Logan’s world and thr characters surrounding her. Each book feels fresh and exciting.
This book is just like the rest of them. I was pulled into the story with ease and I could not put it down. I was desperate to see what was going to happen and just to spend more time with these characters. This is easily one of my top series and I would recommend everyone reading it.

I’m a big fan of this series, and yet again I was gripped from start to finish with this mystery, crime thriller. I loved being back with our heroine, Logan McKenna and her now husband, Ben, both of whom feel like old friends. Logan is enjoying life at the start of this story, enjoying playing her violin, taking long morning runs, and having time with Ben. Logan then decides to volunteer at a wildlife rescue centre, and becomes involved with the wild raptors. Logan’s peace doesn’t last long though, when a coworker is found dead, and although there’s no sign of a violent struggle, the cause of death remains unclear.
Despite the autopsy finding no evidence of homicide, Logan believes it could be murder as the office had been vandalised, and things just don’t seem right. Taking matters into her own hands, she decides to uncover the killer and along with two friends she digs deeper. However, this brings her to the killer’s attention and if she’s not careful she will end up as the next victim. I was hooked by this fast paced, page turner of a novel, and literally could not put the book down. As usual the descriptive narrative brings both the characters and the setting to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. An enjoyable and engaging read, and one which I definitely recommend.

I was struck hard with love with the prior book, and this one continued the fantasy story that I had very much fallen in love with. I loved this one I think actually, a bit more! The writing was perfectly done.
I loved this one as it still had those adventurous fantasy elements that intrigued me in the first novel, but this one went down a road that gave more and made your mind visualize more Also, loved seeing the characters from the first book again. I saw a lot of character growth in this one. I loved the more deeper we dove in this one, the more that came to light, the end is not near yet for our heros! Cant wait to see what happens next in this most amazing series! I love hoe the flow goes, the characters, and I love this book!
The series is amazing, and I very much enjoyed how the author did this installment! The author, book, sand series are must reads for sure! High recommendation for all of them from this love struck reader!

Oh this book! I don’t even know where to start. I know when I first read the synopsis I thought I was going to be in for an emotional rollercoaster but this story grabbed me and boy did it take me on a ride! I was completely captivated from the very first word until the last. The authors writing was just phenomenal, as it always is and I was honestly completely hooked. The story of Addie and Wesley had everything you could want in a story, an emotional part, angsty moments, family drama and so much more. I loved how unpredictable the story was and I absolutely adored the characters.
I cannot wait for more to come from this series!

Wow!! What a read! Historical romance is by far my favourite genre, I just absolutely love being transported back in time and this book as soon as I read the synopsis I couldn’t wait to get started and my gosh it did not disappoint at all! This was definitely one smoking hot story! I think it’s the first I’ve read by this author and I cannot wait to read more by her. The characters were fantastic to read about, Celia and Gabriel has so much chemistry it just oozed off the pages as I was reading – I am definitely a little bit in love with Gabriel! He was hot, possessive and dominating – book boyfriend material!! The authors attention to detail meant that scenery was easy to imagine. Overall it really was a brilliant read and one that I would highly recommend.

This is a series that I have enjoyed from the first book. It is a series that keeps getting better and better with every new installment. I have enjoyed reading this author’s stories and how her writing skills bring her stories to life. This book is no different. This is a well written story where Logan is back in a race against time mystery. Will she be able to stop a killer before she falls victim to the killer? This is a fast paced story that had me coming back for more. It is a story that is full of action and twists and turns that you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story which made the story easy to read. This is an entertaining story that you don’t want to miss. Logan is a great character that made the story for me. This is a great story that I enjoyed by a great author. I highly recommend this book.

The Cool Thing: A Dark Comedy. Or Not. by Robert Rife

What a fantastic book it a way of going between dark and funny at a quick pace. It’s a different type of book it’s a fast read. The dark humor is great as someone who løbe it is very refreshing to read. Whislt the couple are selling items they find themselves in sticky situations all things been told from different pov makes it a very interesting read.

This was a really lovely story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I loved the setting for the story – the glitz and glam of Las Vegas and I loved the characters Kellie and Harrison, they were both lovely characters and I am such a lover of second chance romances that I was absolutely rooting for these two the whole way through. I really liked the authors writing, I found it engaging and captivating. I am really looking forward to reading more from the series!
10 Minutes Before Sleeping by Tanya R. Taylor

I borrowed this book on kindle unlimited and right from the beginning found it to be a little odd for my liking. I found it quite jumpy, I was uncomfortable with the amount of prejudice portrayed, and I couldn’t understand why somebody would take in a baby left on the doorstep if they were just going to be abusive. I found it unrealistic that because the child was undocumented no neighbors stepped in to help and no one in the government ever figured it out or checked on her, even when she attended a school, which generally requires a birth certificate and many other things.
It is unsettling the relationship that takes place in this book with Eva and Pierre and the other things that transpire within that relationship which honestly is just another example of her being abused. There was nothing romantic about this relationship at all. Add in the fact that a supposed adult man still calls his mother mommy I didn’t find it very believable. There are several time jumps which makes it hard to connect to the story. At one point Eva is 15 1/2 and then the next chapter she is suddenly 18. That’s not even the biggest time jump.
The unbelievable story that she has with Max given his job title and all the other odd things I literally have no idea how this book has so many 4 and 5 stars. I always try to find some positive in a story or the authors writing style but this was impossible. I just found the entire story to unfortunately be bizarre and not what was advertised as emotional and powerful. I’m not giving up though, I am going to give another one of her books a try.
As you can see from other reviews some people really enjoyed this story so it very well could be just a personal experience. I’d recommend giving it a read and determining for yourself what you think.

The secrets the drama the lies and the painful way these two just won’t actually have a conversation will drive you crazy but the powerful heat between them is undeniable
This is a great entry to Alpha Omega metaverse and I highly recommend it. Humor internal monologs in this really help you get you get to know the characters.
4 stars only because the ending was fairly anti climactic. I was definitely looking for more.

I love, love, LOVE shifter books and this one was nothing short of amazing!! It had an awesome plot, and wonderful characters. I enjoyed this book from page one and on. Loved how the storyline played out! It was a fast paced read for me as well. Most certainly could not set aside until finished. I just HAD to know and read it ALL. LOL Can’t wait to read what’s next in the series!!

This is the fourth book in the Fitz series. This story follows Andy and Stephen, two homosexual males who have a past. Andy is the single father of Stella. Andy has Parkinson’s disease and his adopted daughter is deaf. Stephen did not want to raise Stella and top it off with Andy’s disease, it was too overwhelming for him, so he left. Stephen and Andy agree to meet. Andy just wanted closure, but clearly Stephen’s heart has not moved on. Now he must find a way to get them back. Now they are dealing with a serial killer – of gay men. Such an emotional read but a really, really good one too!

Loved this book! If you like shifter books this is for you! It is set in the same universe as some of the author’s other books, but this was my first read of hers and I did not feel like I was missing anything, so definitely holds up that it can be read as a standalone. The dialogue in the book really makes you feel like you are in the story, it just sucks you right in. I also love the dual POV and it was executed brilliantly here. Overall, a great story and makes me want to read more of this universe!

The synopsis attracted me to this book, but then I was absolutely hooked from the prologue! There was the perfect amount of magic and reality sprinkled into this story, and I absolutely loved the characters. Ashley has such spunk and personality! I wish I had been more like her when I was in high school.
This retelling of Cinderella was such an easy read and had enough twists and turns to keep me captivated with the story. I definitely recommend this book and am now going to read more from MK Harkins!

This is the 8th book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series. Everytime I pick up one of these books I know I’m going to be take on a gripping murder mystery and this was just as I expected. The characters growth throughout these books is amazing to see and its nice to see her finally happy with her long term love Ben. But it seems everywhere Logan goes there is always trouble.
We are back with Logan in her new home. Finally settled with her now husband Ben, Logan is enjoying her life and decides to embrace her love of Birds of Prey.
Now she has spare time she decides to volunteer at a wildlife centre where she can fully immerse herself and her love for these beautiful birds.
Sounds perfect right? That is until one of the vetanarians Logan works with turns up dead. Was it a natural death or something more sinister?
With Logan believing there was foul play she sets out to uncover the truth but little does she realise that by digging she has brought herself to the attention of the killer and now its a race against time for Logan to find the murderer before they get her.
This story is very gripping and will have you turning the pages and not being able to stop. I was fully immersed and captivated by this story that I couldn’t put it down.

This was my first book by Valerie Davisson, and now I am compelled to read all of the others in this series! I loved that you could pick this book up without reading the other books, but now I feel the need to go back and read them all anyways.
Valerie’s writing was so descriptive, which made me feel immersed in the story, the setting, the drama, the mystery… everything! This was a great murder mystery that kept me flying through the pages to uncover the truth. I definitely recommend it!

Mia is looking to marry Nico for protection from her mafia family after finding out they are involved in a sex trafficking ring.
To their surprise, the marriage becomes more than a business move. I loved watching their emotions come to light!!

To try and put to words how great this book was, is super difficult. Lexi Foss went above and beyond with this book. Between the world building, the romance, the pain, the healing, and of course, the happy ending.
I was a little nervous reading that this was part of a whole world that I haven’t read yet. But Lexi did not disappoint at all. She introduced the world, the burn out of the world, the hierarchy of everyone. I never felt lost for a single second.
I also love that each character isn’t 19 or 19 years old, they are a couple hundred years old or more. They have life experience and have seen terrible things, yet they survived.
I also love that there is not a “fated mates” story, this is a whole new type of werewolf/shifter storyline. Each character had to grow and learn to love, not just feel someone touch them and they were in love.
Between the humor, the romance, the storyline and the world building, I give this story a 5 out of 5 and I will definitely be reading the next V-Clan novel.

The Charm Collector series is fast becoming one of my favorite urban fantasy book series. Wicked Treasure is book 2 and is just as much, if not more, exciting as Diabolical Sword (book 1). Harlow and Caspian are now on the run trying to locate magic treasure related to their friend, Cutlass. Kayda is pissed because Harlow ghosted her. Though, not much time for that because the Collective is creating chaos in Luma. There is drama, mystery and adventure no matter where you turn. I found myself on the edge of my seat, unable to stop reading because I had to keep going…one page more…what’s going to happen next..This story is so well-written. It engages you right from the start. The characters involved are so quirky and full of personality that you can’t help but love them all. I love following the conversations with the sword. The author builds a wonderful world with the story through her descriptions and art of story-telling. I will eagerly be awaiting book 3 of the series. Highly recommend this series.
