Thief (Popov Bratva Book 4) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Angela Hayes

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thief is the fourth captivating book in the Popov Bratva series by Leslie Georgeson. OMG have I got some catching up to do with this author. I can’t believe it has taken this long for me to discover her fantastic work/s!!! I have seriously been missing out. All it took was one book and I have developed a Leslie Georgeson addiction that I am only too happy to keep feeding. Oh Yeah – I feel a book binge coming on ….
This is a sublime Bratva romance- an enemies to lovers story with plenty of action, danger, mystery, suspense, dramatic developments, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, humour, banter, comradery, ‘brotherhood’, angst, agendas, secrets, betrayal, incredibly interesting characters, and so, so much more.
Dom is a Bratva prince who sets out to fill a customer order which will require him to ‘acquire’ a certain type of vehicle- but things don’t quite go according to his well laid out plans and this thief ends up stealing something much more valuable than just a sexy car. A Bratva prince, a country music star, a stolen car, danger, and plenty of sparks combine to ignite quite an exciting ride….
I have come into this series a little backwards, starting on Book #4- so thankfully ‘Thief’ is able to be read as a standalone without feeling like I was lost or missing important information. Having said that though, and from what I could tell, the series has a stellar cast of recurring characters who each get their own book in the series. These characters have well and truly whet my appetite for sampling more of their deliciousness- and Ms. Georgeson has me well and truly hooked on all the enticing developments. And as I said earlier, one book is definitely not enough!
I am so happy to have finally discovered this talented author, and to find that she has numerous other books ready for me to devour. I am excited to find someone worthy of a major book-binging session. I am looking forward to stalking- hmm, umm- I mean ‘following’ her, and will be keeping an eye out for anything new she produces so I can snap them up, too…
As I said, this is the fourth book in an on-going series. The series consists of:
-Freak (Book One) ….. Zeke and Mia’s story
-Snitch (Book Two) ….. Sacha and Willow’s story
-Thug (Book Three) ….. Lev and Siena’s story
-Thief (Book Four) ….. Dom and Leah’s story (Dom is Lev’s twin brother)
-Beast (Book Five) ….. Adrik and Annika’s story (due for release in Oct 2022)
-Punk (Book Six) ….. due to release in March 2023
Very Highly Recommended!
Happy reading!

Thank you, Leslie Georgeson!

Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1)Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book from the first word to the last. I felt like I was right there with Eliza, Heath, and Joy – tackling a mystery. A hilarious book with twists and turns and romance. What’s not to love??

I could not put the book down, hence I declare it delicious. Perfect for a day out in the sun. The author impeccably blends proper English with British colloquialisms. Spun in perfect measure with whispers of scenery and life from days of yore. Such a delightful book. My only complaint is that it had to end. I am thrilled to know this is going to be a series. Until the next book!

Something About Aimee (Girls from the Street Book 1)Something About Aimee by S.E. Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My heart is so happy that I picked up this book to read and could not put it down!! The story totally consumed me from beginning to end. This story had it all…. action, deceit, love and a few steamy scenes!

Aimee Wheels is such a free spirit and hustling day to day as a courier in NYC. When a small bet is wagered if she can get a delivery on time..Aimee is up to the task…but little did she know that the delivery also changes her life. Sheik Qadir Saif Ad Din radiates power and is royalty tries to get some attention by Aimee, at first she dismisses him. When an assassination attempt against Qadir starts in full motion, Aimee saves his life. After that fateful attempt….Qadir and Aimee’s chemistry hits off the charts..but they both come from different worlds….will their differences keep them apart when chaos ensues?

There is so much more to this book but I dont want to give any spoilers away…I could talk about this story forever. The characters of Qadir and Aimee are fantastic, and even though they have different upbringings, they both share so much love not only for each other but to their families and friends as well. I did not want this story to end and I look forward to reading book #2!

This is a fast paced, could totally happen apocalyptic read! I really love the authors writing style and the characters. I love Calum’s level head in some pretty stressful situations. The fact that this story isn’t that far fetched will send chills down your spine! It will keep you up late turning pages to see what happens to Ben, Calum, Rob and Jessie. Just when you think you may have the plot figured out there’s another truth found. There’s a lot of science to back up the story to really get you thinking! I can’t wait to read the next book!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good four star read.
Paige had seen an artist technique on a painting that got her traveling to go seek out the unknown artist named Mark. When she gets to the farm and meets Mark she is immediately attracted to him. Mark enjoys painting as more of a hobby, and he is not interested in making it more than it is. He is happy on his horse ranch adopting older horses. Eventually she does convince him to do a show. There is a twist that ends up bringing them closer, can they keep things professional or will they give into their feelings?

Overall this was a fun read. I really enjoyed this couple. And I love horses so that was an added bonus. The author did a great job with her writing and I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today/

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance)Let It Be Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a good 5 star read. This story pulled me in right from the beginning. This couple had several different things to deal with. Eric was a private person and mayor of a small town. Kiki is a pop star that has paparazzi following her all over the place. These two have had a great thing going on between them until Kiki gets some news that changes everything. Will Eric be accepting of what she has to share with him? Can they have a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I really liked how supportive Eric was. I did have a couple of LOL moments. They do have some hurdles that added a great element to the story. The secondary characters were great too. The author does a great job with her writing and I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today.

This was a good read! It was a very descriptive read as well. This is like your typical contemporary romance novel, with romance of course, a lot of feel good scenes, with an artsy twist. I really enjoyed reading this one, since I really haven’t read a romance centered around art before. I hope to read more from this author in the future!

A Quirk of Destiny: Ignoramus et IgnorabimusA Quirk of Destiny: Ignoramus et Ignorabimus by Catherine Greenall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Overall – a good read with a storyline that works well with the character and plot drive. A dystopian fueled by modified foods and a deadly coverup that goes horribly wrong. It introduces many interesting concepts and a severe warning that many can just take and run with it. With a background in agriculture, there is often a lot of misinformation and misleading among these topics.

It was a good read in terms of the possibilities that can come from improper regulation and the misuse of power.

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance)Let It Be Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kiki never expected to find love. Let alone with someone as normal as Eric, the mayor of Mustang Prairie.

Eric knows that being with a pop star is going to be rough, and as someone who values the privacy Mustang Prairie allows, it’s quite a change.

When Kiki finds herself pregnant, both her and Eric are excited, but it’s hard to feel like it’s real when your whole life has always been on display. Now Kiki must find a way to save herself from her agent and keep her new life safe from the paparazzi that comes with being a pop sensation. Can she move on from her past and will Eric be able to handle are her secrets?

With life growing inside her Kiki is forced to re-evaluate a lot of things in her life. Let it be Love is the story of two people, celebrities in their own right, falling in love and finding out that sometimes happy ever afters don’t go as planned.

This was a sweet story about how love can help guide you and support you through the tough times, the happy times, and the downright insane times. I feel like the characters were well built, and the town of Mustang Prairie really draws you in and makes you want to go and never leave.

I’m excited to read more about Mustang Prairie and the friends made along the way.

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia – Review by Shannen Kern

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Paige and the Reluctant Artist is such a sweet romance where two hurt individuals surprisingly find their way into each other’s lives. They both harbor some bad feelings from a past relationship which colors their opinion of everyone they meet.

Paige and Mark seem completely opposite from first glance as she is a sophisticated city girl, and he is a handsome painter from the country. They are brought together because Paige is an art curator for a very grand art gallery and Mark’s artwork is one-of-a-kind. She tries to persuade him to do an art show at the gallery, but he is adamant about staying in Montana and taking care of his rescue horses. Will she be able to convince him to share his breathtaking art with the world or will he send her back to the city with nothing but sorrow?

I enjoyed this cute love story because the characters are lovable but just a bit out of touch for me. I adore the relationship between Mark and his horses, but particularly with the main mare, Storm Cloud. I recommend this quick yet enchanting romance!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Quirk of Destiny is a chilling dystopian read and I couldn’t get enough. I really enjoyed the scientific and political parts that were woven into the story. When the content is this realistic as well as relatable, you get pulled in and start wondering if this is something that could happen!

Calum has been trying to alert someone about the safety of this new modified food but his whole department was told to keep quiet. Calum does not accept this and wants to inform others, so they know the repercussions. The government seems to silence anyone who is coming forward with news they apparently don’t want leaked. People begin behaving in an odd manner and panic ensues. Everyone starts looking to Calum for guidance and he becomes a natural born leader in humanity’s most dire moment.

The chapters in the beginning are very short so it took a little getting used to but after the first few, they get more in-depth and incredibly interesting. I am very excited for the second book in this series and recommend getting this one as soon as you can!

Famous aging author Claudette Grayson needs help. Help getting out her very last story so everyone knows the truth. Claudette is draw to Roxanne, but is there enough time to find the truth?

Elle is a young woman with a promising future, as an orphan, she was brought up by another family member, but as a child, she did have the usual dreams, as every orphan does, of a fairytale type life where she is a princess. She is about to go out one evening when she finds out about a tragedy which is near to her heart, she is devastated and feels alone, but it also leads to a life changing event, she finds some of her mothers belongings, one of which starts glowing green, she just thinks that it’s something caused by grief.

When life returns to a bit of normality, she suddenly starts feeling like she is being followed, so when handsome Locan turns up telling her that her dream is actual true and she is a princess, he gives her a choice to either come with him in his spaceship, or be left to fend for herself against the less friendly people who intend her harm. Elle feels like she is either going insane, or Locan is, but thanks to the odd feelings and mysterious blue star birthmarks appearing on her arm, she decides to take a chance and makes the last minute decision to go with him.

As they journey through space, Locan explains more about where she is from and what it is like living there, including about her Uncle, it is a lot to process, but Elle seems to be taking it in her stride, but as with all journeys, this one doesn’t go smoothly. Along the way, there are dangers all around Elle and Locan, from the people following her who have been sent by her Uncle and to make matters more difficult, there are her peoples Goddesses who appear with side quests for them, mainly saving earthlings and aliens alike, but always with their own hidden agendas, all the while Elle and Locan are trying to deny the growing attraction between them.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found this to be a fantastic sci-fi fantasy book that was action packed with just the right amount of romance in it. We have Elle, who thinks she is an orphan, who has always felt a disconnect with people on Earth and Locan, a warrior at odds with himself, because he has seen what happens when you lose control. Due to fate, or actually the Gods, they are brought together and have to learn to trust not only each other, but themselves if they want to survive the journey back to their home planet and save it. I felt the character descriptions and development was well rounded, I cared for the characters and wanted to see them succeed and I was worried when things got into tight spots for them. I was impressed at how the author was able to complete the story in one book without it feeling rushed or details were left out. The pacing was solid. The story definitely touched on some adult themes so not a story for children or younger teens. I definitely recommend it for a mature reader who wants to lose themselves in a fantastic story that is going to take them to another world!

Let It Be Love is a contemporary romance about pop star KiKi and small-town mayor Eric. This couple truly cares for each other but fame makes it difficult to have the relationship she wants and Eric is reluctant to step into the public eye. This was a very realistic and mature portrayal of your typical romance book. I like how KiKi and Eric communicated and made an earnest effort to have a happy relationship. These two were committed to one another and it was lovely to see. This was a delightful read.

This was such a wonderful read, I could not put this one down! It pulled me right in from the start! I loved the writing style of this wonderful author as well! I was hooked, and in much anticipation as I read through. I could not get enough of the story or the characters. The book gave so much!

For starters, freaking loved Dominik’s character. He came off tough, but had a heart of gold. He was set in hos ways at times, but sometimes a heart can melt at the right moment. Loved the chemistry and the moments between these two. I found they met their match with one another, and showed what realism is between two people. Loved how things progressed, and the build up! The story itself had build up as well. Things came to light in the story and between these two. Lots of twists and moments that really impacted the story. I really enjoyed this book, and will be reading more by this author! Loved it!

Highly recommend this author and the books that they bring to life! I enjoyed this one very much, and I for sure will be reading more that they have created. High recommendation to author and book for sure!

Saved by Love was a phenomenal read. It is book #7 in the Bellevue Bullies series. I’m gonna be honest….I never read books 1-6. I had just finished a book and was looking for something to read when I came across Saved by Love. The title alone caught my eye (I’m a sucker for a good love story). After reading the synopsis and some of the reviews I figured out I could read this like a standalone, I did, and I’m sooooo glad I did. It is such a good story!
I’m not gonna say too much since I don’t wanna give anything away. I will say is, the storyline is amazing, the characters are great and loveable, if you decide to read this be prepared for all the emotions!
My favorite thing about this book was the “Mental Health” issues. I have never read a book where the author allows the characters to openly say “Hey I have Mental health issues and It’s ok” or “I have mental health issues and I need help”. I feel like mental health is so important and needs to be talked about. I give the AUTHOR 2 BIG HIGH FIVES for touching on mental health related issues and showing how people struggle through them and how they can over come some of those.
I am definitely going to have to read 1-6 now!!!

The Liminal Space by T.S. Simons is the second book in the Antipodes series. For me this is a series that really does need to be read in order so you can fully appreciate what is happening.
I found this book to be just as detailed and well thought out as the first book. I really love how it makes you think about what it is trying to do. It really helps to draw you into the story even more. Even after reading this book I’m really not sure what I would do if I had the chance to do things over. It is one of those questions that I don’t think you would truly know the answer to until you had to decide.
This book in detailed and comprehensive and a really great read. I would highly recommend this series!

This is the first installment in this series. I haven’t, until just recently, gotten into apocalyptic, end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it type books. I actually almost passed on this one. I am SO GLAD I didn’t!! If you like conspiracies and mile-a-minute action, you’re gonna love this. If you’re a reader who loves to compare fiction to what is going on in the real world, this is a fun one…it’s also kind of scary, in that regard. The characters are what make a great story, for me. If character interactions and dialogue seem contrived or disingenuous, it’s hard for me to buy into the story. The writing in this is seamless between action and character involvement, which makes for a “smooth ride” all the way through. It’s easy to get caught up in the story and pretty soon hours have gone by. There is no “just one more chapter” thinking with this book. I highly recommend this book!

KiKi Ramirez is living the life as a pop princess. She’s gone on world tours and met many famous people. She has the world at her fingertips. It’s show time and she’s stepping into the cage that will lift her high above the crowd of her adoring fans but she’s feeling dizzy, like she might actually get sick. Next thing she knows, everything turns black.

Eric loves being the mayor of his small town Mustang Prairie, but he loves Kiki more. Why can’t she see it? He’d love to make more of their relationship but he doesn’t want all the paparazzi that comes with dating an international superstar. Is there a balance in all of this?

Life for Eric and Kiki is about to change in ways that they could never imagine. Can both of their careers sustain all these changes and challenges being thrown their way? Can love win over their hearts?

This was an enjoyable contemporary romance to read in an afternoon. The characters are loveable and realistic. I had no idea this book was part of a series, which is awesome, because I can go back now and read about some of Eric and Kiki’s friends! This book was easy to read as a standalone but knowing I can read more about the other couples gives me even more reasons to love this author!

I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Most of it occurs over the course of a few days. Jane does a very good job creating the characters although some of it was very repetitive. I feel like I know them. I’m very happy with the way the story is ended. We never forget our first loves and sometimes it’s our only love. By the end of story I believe everyone had been healed emotionally and were truly happy. It’s definitely a feel good romance.

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After a failed relationship with a former client, Paige swears to keep things strictly professional moving forward. When she discovers a new talent for her boss’s art gallery to represent, she goes to Montana to meet with Mark, the artist, and convince him to sell his work at a show.
Mark, who doesn’t need the money, just wants to stay on his ranch and continue his rescue efforts for old horses that would otherwise be put down. Painting is a hobby and release for him, but he’s not interested in Paige’s offer. The woman, however, he’s intrigued by, despite his own previous heartbreak dealing with an ex-fiancee, whom it turns out was only in it for his money.
Paige feels a connection to Mark, but holds to her vow to keep things professional, at least for some time. The pull for both is strong, but Paige continues to push away, despite convincing Mark to do a show with a guarantee of a large sum of money to help his rescue efforts. She has to fight her personal reservations while staying with him as he completes the paintings, which becomes more difficult with time.
By the time the show comes around, Mark tires of the mixed signals and overhears a conversation that jeapordizes any chance of the two finding a happy ever after.
Only when his rescue horse, the one that he painted and caught Paige’s attention with, falls ill do the two come back together. The question becomes if the pair can overcome their stubbornness and history to finally accept one another and begin a true relationship.
This was an enjoyable read with lovely characters. The author did a nice job of weaving the personalities of the animals into the story, as well.

This is a great contemporary romance set in a small town. Although part of a series, each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any of the other books and didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information. I am intrigued by the other couples who are part of this book and would like to read more of them as each couple adds something to the dynamic of the group.
In this book we get the story of small-town Mayor Eric and his secret romance with pop superstar Kiki. I adored both of these characters and I loved reading their story. It takes you on a roller coaster journey, taking you through every emotion possible and I can say that I really loved the ride.
I do say that one mark of a great character writer for me is how much you dislike the bad guy in a book and I can safely say that I really really hated Louie. What a horrible, despicable man.
This is a really great story, which flows well and keeps you entertained and wanting to keep turning the pages. Definitely recommend.

This Time Around, by Jane Suen

Let me start out by saying that this is a precious book, and I whole heartedly enjoyed every moment of it. This book revolves around the romance of Katie and Chase, and their history together and getting a second chance.
Katie had big dreams after high school, and left her small town, her friends and family, and the boy she loved to follow them in the big city, being too stubborn to ever look back. Now, she finds herself visiting her hometown for a wedding last minute, and the bride surprises her with her first love as her date.
Chase fought hard to forget the pain he felt when Katie left, but as soon as he saw her, he knew his heart wasn’t as hardened to her as he had hoped. Katie thought she had buried her feelings for Chase at the bottom of her heart, but as soon as she saw him, she melted. This is the story of their lives crossing again after 10 years apart, and a love that lasts through the years.
This wholesome and heartwarming book reminds us that there are second chances in life, with friends, family, and sometimes, even in romance.

Princess of Prias by Courtney Davis – Review by Amy Brennan

Princess of PriasPrincess of Prias by Courtney Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yes! I love the idea of Elle’s mother running to give up her life for her daughters, for her ‘Aunt’ Sara for doing everything she could to raise her to be her own person and to protect her from the truths until she knew it’d be time for L to take that next step to becoming who she needed to become (whether this was known or not.) The novel itself is a well written adventure, I love when tales are told from different narratives, and how it moves at just the right speed as to keep the reader immersed in its pages.

Strong female lead, strong supporting characters, romance and suspense all woven into this adventure and I certainly made sure I took the time to focus and really focus on the story. I feel like all of us have a certain ‘ I don’t belong here’ aspect to our lives, and how L feels, i felt very much akin to. I very much enjoyed the descriptive nature of the worlds, and the adventure that unfolds. If you’re looking for a lovely quick read, but not too quick, I would recommend giving this a go. I know I will be looking for more by this author soon!
