If I thought the first 2 books were something I couldn’t stop talking about to everyone they better get ready for this round because this just made it to my favourite reads list !!!!

The prologue had me hook line and sinker , before chapter one I was an emotional wreck , chapter calmed me down just a little and by chapter 3 I was a goner !!!! I was a blubbering mess and there was a pile of Kleenex looking like Mount Everest 🤣🙈

Beth really had a rough childhood and I love , respect and admire her for rising from her circumstances she’s the definition of a Phoenix 🥰she’s also brilliant in the ring !

There were moments where I had to hold my breath and check in on my heart rate not just because of my lovebirds but the dark and dangerous elements that posed a threat 🙈

The moment that’ll stay with me for quite some time though is the reconciliation between mother and daughter to say I was an emotional wreck would be sooooooo far off 🤪I was a mess !

Beth , Chamberlain, Scott , Beth , Fiona , Calista and the kids are a very special kind of people and it’s a mish mash family I’d love to be part of

The book started slow for me, many other readers have stated this can be read as a standalone, so I went into reading this as one. But I feel I should have started with book one, so if you haven’t as well, you should.
I enjoyed reading about the fairies, the book felt really creative and different which I enjoyed. I thought the characters were great and going into different time periods was cool; the ending was very sweet, and I liked how things ended for Anne and Gaelan.

An Ember of Hope is the sixth book in the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren.
This is an original, clever, detailed, descriptive, and intriguing paranormal saga- with vampires, action, adventure, emotion, pain, trauma, high stakes, politics, agendas, atmospheric world building, danger, intrigue, tense developments, violence, drama, and plenty of suspense.
This story comes with a trigger warning, so if you have any issues/triggers, you will want to read them before plunging in. (there are flashbacks of torture and imprisonment etc)
This series really does seem to get better and better with each new instalment- building on what has come previously. I highly recommend reading the other books before starting on this one, because they all come together to create a ‘bigger picture’, not to mention they are all great reads int their own rights, while providing hours of entertaining adventure to dive into.

Alchemy of Glass is the second book in The Apothecary Series by Barbara Barnett. This follows on from what we started in Book one, and although it could be read as a standalone, I think you would really benefit from reading Book #1 first, as that holds a lot of important information that I think you should know in order to fully appreciate this story.
Here, the story weaves between the past and present, a wonderful blend of historical fantasy, with sci-fi/cutting edge science, romance, magic, mystery, intrigue, the supernatural, the Fae + fairy lore, immortality, drama, love, loss, emotion, myth/Celtic mythology, tension, difficult choices, high stakes, and is ‘more than first meets the eye’.
How could a small piece of broken glass thrust Galean into an adventure he could never have anticipated? Well, if you love historical fantasy mixed with sci-fi and adventure, then this engrossing story is one you should read and discover all the intriguing developments for yourself….

Be My Little Baby is the next installment of the London Detective Agency series. And it did not disappoint. The author gives us back characters we love with others mixed in.
I enjoyed reading this book more than the previous one. In saying that I know that the books do not have to be read in order this book works extremely well as a standalone. Though you may want to go back to find out the other detective’s story.
James is a workaholic. But he loves his job. Looking at another weekend at home James is thrown when Tessa ends up at his door.
Tessa has a stalker but a harmless one, based on the police department. So she turns to the detective agency, bringing them in and hoping they take her seriously.
A simpleton who slowly raised the escalations led James to believe he may be harmless. However he agreed to investigate anyway. Which is exactly what pushes the stalker to take it up a notch.
Attracted to one another will they be able to keep their feelings at bay while they solve the mystery of who is stalking Tessa? Time to test the limits and job in and be just as intrigued and thrilled to be engulfed in this story.

Good Golly Miss Dolly, this book was really good. I couldn’t put it down! The back and forth between the characters was spot on. I felt like I was there and eating popcorn waiting to see what would happen next, and who would say what. The story building and word building was phenomenal. Not omg in your face, but not mehhh whatever either. It was a good balance between both. I flat out consumed this book, and I seriously need more of Kristin’s books now. I felt so many emotions throughout the book, and there were times where I wanted to throttle the main characters, but then I would remember they’re still starting out on their adult journey since they are 18, and then I would give them a bit of grace. Bravo Kristin Bravo!

My oh my. After more than two weeks of my best friend telling me I have got to read this book I finally got the chance to dive in. This is the first book I have read by Karli Rush and lordy it was a-mazing. I hate that it took me so long to get the chance to begin.
It all started with a quake, followed by a hunt and everything ran from there. It was just another day in a hard to find on a map town when Selene was gathering supplies for her shop and returning to work. A tremor made things fall then a quake that put a ravine down the middle of main street. When the hazy veil came in, she thought it would be sheer that her hand would go through it only to find it more like glass, a containment around half the town and her fiancé Rayden outside it watching. Screams, ghostly arrows, and a river of blood follow as she runs for her life. Suddenly the men are gone, the dead are gone and all that remains is running women and ghostly darts following them. The earth has rotated a hundred and eighty degrees opening to another dimension and the creatures that inhabit it.
Will Selene survive? Can she find her way back to Rayden? Has Sirius truly claimed her? From page one it had me hooked one moment it was five p.m. the next it was eleven thirty I couldn’t bring myself to put it down until I knew what happened and now, I sit and wait for book two. We need more. I need more.

I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t know that it was the sequel to “The Apothecary’s Curse” but I feel like I didn’t miss much. But, I think I will go back and read it and then reread this book. Other than that, this book was wonderfully done. I really enjoyed the science aspects, the history of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the fantasy parts. Another reader said that this would fit in the dark fantasy genre, and I agree. It does get a little dark, but not super dark. I loved the back and forth between timelines, it was really well done, and I wasn’t left feeling like I was being jerked back and forth, the transitioning between timelines was well done. I’m super picky with my male main characters, but reading Gaelan’s story I felt connected to him, and I could understand his way of thinking. It was a mix of intelligence and emotional responses. This book might not everyone’s cup of tea, but it sure was mine and I’m glad I took a chance on it!

This was a good 4 star read. This is Tyler and Cary’s story. Tyler has made a choice to avoid dating any more musicians. But fate has something else in mind when Cary shows up. These two have a history And when old feelings start to resurface things get interesting. Cary is persistent in pursuing Tyler. Both of them have some pain to get past, will they be able to help each other move forward? Overall I really enjoyed this book. The illustrations in this book are absolutely breathtaking! The colors are very vibrant and the pictures look like they could pop off the page!

I also love how this isn’t a typical ABC book. The words….they are long and beautiful and can be used to teach new vocabulary! I was trying to pick a favorite letter but I love them all in this book! Actually, I really like “H”, “I”, and “P”. There is a listing of definitions in the end for those words that might be difficult. I had to look to be sure I understood a couple of them.

This is a must-have for your home library. Homeschooling families will especially appreciate the depth of the vocabulary!

Pursuit into Darkness is the 2nd book in the series and I really enjoyed it. The POV is the FMC, Julia, and it follows her and the Ka-Tet she is. The story is quick moving, plenty of background info that doesn’t bog the storyline down at all. The characters were well written and had great world building. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and I really want to pick up the next one to find out more. Not sure if Julia was hallucinating, is going crazy, and if there really is someone playing with her head. Looking forward to the next one.

This book was cute. I loved the story and the illustrations. I have a nine year old, but I think that this book can be read by younger kids. This book is about a dog that scratched behind his ear. One by one, the children, starting with the dog’s owner start doing things to help with fleas that they learned from their parents. If they didn’t have an item they just used something else. To say things got a bit crazy is an understatement. Vinegar! Yuck. Poor dog! Lol. Funny and cute. The dog ends up hiding from the kids! Great for first libraries and elementary children. We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more!!

An Ember of Hope: War of Destiny was a good read. I did have a hard time staying with it, but I think that’s because there really isn’t much dialogue for a good portion of the book. It makes sense for the story, it was just a harder read to get into than I thought it was going to be. The story is unique and I really did like the book overall. The last half of the book picks up and the last quarter I really enjoyed.

This is a side book following the events of the 2nd book in the series. It almost seemed like two different writers. The POV were from two completely different people, but I enjoyed the 2nd book more than this one.

This book was so good!! The detail describing the dragon and stuff was so amazing! I could picture the beast changing forms so easily. Very well written. I can’t wait to read more!! This book is about a girl named Gillian. She lives in a land that has lost much of it’s history over time. The Shadowlands are a forbidden area that everyone fears and for good reason. When her brother’s life is in danger Gillian enters the Shadowlands to try and find a cure to a disease that has been plaguing the world for a very long time. She’s hunted as soon as she crosses the barrier. She’s saved but caught by one of the Great Dragon’s son. Held captive she learns as much as she can. She must get the cure and get back to her brother before he dies. Trying to break free doesn’t go as planned and she doesn’t want the future the Great Dragon is offering. Can she get away from the beast and his sons to get back to her brother in time? The cure could help so many if she can just find it! The more she learns the more she can’t help but wonder where in history everything went so wrong. Thawing towards the Dragon isn’t something she wants to do. Gillian must choose a path and either way a death is possible. What future will she pick and will she regret it, just like she did when she first stepped into the Shadowlands and was attacked.

I’m not athletic. And certainly I’m not featured on a media outlet. I loved reading this book! The two main characters are college students, in their late teens. This is an age when people are physically adults, yet their brain’s have not fully developed. Take a dash of grief, and sprinkle it with a dose of common, everyday heartbreak. You get a love story, you get this story, where the main characters have grown into love- not fallen into it like an icky mud puddle. Readers are taken on an amazing journey of personal and relational growth by the author.

There are a lot of sick individuals out there, and she is more than willing to kick arse and take names. She will always run into danger to protect those who need it. Now she is stuck in a world where only criminals and the vile exist, and staring down her own monsters is not a place she wants to explore.
“El Diablo” is a book that will have you on the edge of your seat, looking into the darkness to see what lies beyond. You will find it at times violent, disturbing, dangerous, and questionable, but you will be high on the chase as it twists and turns and totally immersed in it. I loved it.

You can tell Miss Whitaker has a love of finer things and she has encompassed it all in a unique book to pass on new words to not only children but adults as well.

Like the other books in the series, An Ember of Hope is built on a solid, skilfully woven foundation that Theresa has cleverly pulled together. Could Matt have been wrong about those from whom he has distanced himself? Could there be allies that he had long forgotten? Will he be able to stop the Vampire King?

I really enjoyed this MC romance and I am glad I’ve been introduced to this series about the members of the Demented Souls MC. Malice is a recently patched in member and is still getting to know his brothers. He was able to rescue Bonnie from her aggressive ex boyfriend when he attempted to kidnap her from the street. Bonnie was left intrigued by the intimidating but attractive man, and when her ex escalates things she turns to Malice for help. The chemistry between Bonnie and Malice sizzles off the page. The descriptive narrative brought the Ranch setting vividly to life and I felt fully immersed in the Demented Souls MC’s world. Having discovered this fab author I look forward to reading the previous books in this series whilst waiting for the latest one!

As an avid reader I found this children’s book refreshing and awesome. So many times are the most common used words are used on a daily basis that the younger generation don’t have a clue about the meaning of some words. Used to in school there was a class called vocabulary where you had to learn new words. While my littles didn’t understand all the words I did enjoy explaining new things to them. I just love that the meanings to the words are included in this. The illustrations are beautiful.

First, I want to say that these are beautifully done illustrations. I would like to put them all up as pictures in my house. The alphabet chosen for this book seems a wee bit large for young ones but, hey, it’s all good. It’s an awesome book for parents to read with their wee ones. I loved the whole look and feel to this book. A beautiful addition to any family libary.

This is a powerful story of grief, betrayal and a story of looking for redemption. I have been following this series since the first book. This book embarks on a new level as Matthew is struggling to move past his trauma. By accident, he comes across and ends up with the Medici’s. It’s really a wonderful story that has been written so well. The author has done a great job with giving us a picture of what ancient times would have looked like back then. It’s also a little paranormal with vampires, which is such a nice bonus. As with the other stories, this is so intriguing that it just picks you up and pulls you in.

Wow, if I would have known how much I was going to love this book, I would have blocked my schedule more It was hard to put down and pushed my multi-tasking skills.
I enjoyed Evie & Patrick’s story in book 1 and was excited to hear more about James. Tessa is such an amazing person, very goal driven so it was obvious right from the start that she would be great for James.
Invested from the beginning and shocked by how attracted he is to her, James wants to solve Tessa’s stalking case quickly so that he can ask her out; however Patrick & Evie don’t let him wait. Their relationship blooms quickly, but also escalates the stalker so that the police can be involved.
I was happy to see that James and Patrick are friends with Joe, his presence in this book was awesome.
You could potentially read this as a standalone but I feel you get so much more out of the relationships by reading them as a series.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy their creative writing style as well as the journey the characters take me on. This is a well written story about betrayal and a struggle to get past trauma from imprisonment. Matthew is left not being able to trust those he once did. As he struggles to move forward, he finds a new persona but what will happen when that is threatened? Matthew is a great character that I truly enjoy. He brings his journey to life and left me wanting to know more. I enjoyed the growth throughout that made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story that is engaging and entertaining. This is a great story to read and one which I highly recommend.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first book. I enjoy this author’s writing style as well as her ability to bring her characters to life. This is a well written story about what happens when you are from two different worlds but are falling for each other. Paige and Viktor are great characters that have great growth as well as chemistry. They are connectable and relatable characters that add so much to the story. Their story is engaging and hard to put down. I had no problems picturing myself with them and they had me wanting to know more. This is a fast paced story that is easy to read and entertaining. I really enjoyed this story and it is one that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this series.

What an incredible wide ride of a story this was, I couldn’t put it down and was consuming this book just as fast as I could breathe. This book gave just the right number of twists and turns that kept my attention and wanting more. This book plugged into a world of conspiracy theories, manipulation, thriller high-stakes, deception and mystery. Harper a strong-willed woman, filled with determination, starts to unravel the story behind what has happened to her brother. But will the government be able to keep their secrets to themselves or will it all come crashing down? This book was so intriguing and the twists in it really kept the mystery till the end. This was a gripping story, if you pick it up be prepared not to do anything but find out if Harper can solve this and get out of the situation.

The illustrations were a little too whimsical for my taste, but appreciated the distinctness of this alphabet book.

Wheel of Evil is the third book in the Hani’s Daughter Mysteries series. The series, which follows on from the Lord Hani series, is set in Ancient Egypt and follows Neferet as she and her partner Bener-ib solve mysteries. Neferet and Bener-ib also work as healers so there are interesting insights into Ancient Egyptian medicine along the way!

In Wheel of Evil, Neferet is trying to save her Uncle Pipi from the consequences of a business deal that turned out to be too good to be true. He is being asked for more and more money, and threatened with a rather horrible death if he doesn’t keep contributing.

This is an intriguing mystery, with lots of trails to piece together. I like that we see Hani and Neferet both investigating different parts of the mystery at the same time, and sharing their findings. It’s interesting to learn more about how chariots were built as well!

You could read this as a standalone but to get to know the characters I’d recommend either reading the Hani’s Daughter Mysteries series from the start, or beginning with the Lord Hani series. There are plenty of entertaining and immersive stories to enjoy!

This book gets five stars from me. I’d recommend the series to fans of historical mysteries who are interested in Ancient Egypt.

This is the first book in the The Apothecary Series and wow what a way to start. This book has so many elements, from historical fiction, to danger, mystery, touches of horror and a little bit of sci-fi into the mix. The author has done an incredible job of creating a story which is unique and also captivating . Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down.
When the timeline changed from past to present I feared I may struggle with the change but the authors writing style made the switch easy to follow.
This is a story that spans a long time. It involves two men Dr Simon Bell and apothecary Gaelan Erceldoune.

When Simon’s wife is dying of cancer he reaches out to Gaelan to save her. So Gaelan uses a old manuscript to create a potion to do that.
When this fails and Simons’s wife dies he takes the rest of the potion in the hopes of following her into death. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. Instead Simon is forced to live an immortal life. Trying the reverse this curse he goes to the only other person who is in the same situation and is surprised to discover it is Gaelan.

The only way they can reverse this curse is to find Gaelan’s missing manuscripts however that will not be a straight forward thing to find. With powerful people also looking into the past and the missing manuscript could this finally be the end of Gaelan’s secret existence? When diaries are unearthed with details about a inmate will they lead them to Gaelan’s door. And what will happen if they find the manuscript? Will another connection in the search for it leave Simon and Gaelan to destruction or the salvation they are hoping to find.

I was so captivated in this story that I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
