When thinking of what to write for a review for Falling Down I’m torn on what to settle with for a rating, 3-3.5 stars I feel is a good middle point. I adored the MMC, and while I liked Lucy, I wasn’t as in love with her as I should have been. I could relate to her in some things, but others not so much. The chemistry between Jesse and the FMC was strong. I liked the supporting characters as they were just as central to the story as the main characters. Overall it was a good read and I’m interested enough to pick up more in this series.

This is such a great story with the majority of it being pictures so the adult can elaborate on the story as they see fit. The illustrations are fantastic and colorful. Great book for children 3 to 7.

This is the most beautiful book I have ever seen! The pictures are exquisite and so alive with color and detail. The definitions are at the back of the book for each picture, which is pretty cool. It is for ages toddler to 7 seven and would be a fantastic keepsake book for a baby gift or a grandchild.

What a great novella! This is book 3 of The Predator Series, and we get to learn about Beth and her background and Scott. It takes them a while to get it together, but they finally admit that they are meant to be together. Can’t get much better than this!

Alchemy of Glass is the second book in the Apothecary Series, and continues on after book one. You can read this book as a standalone, but it would help to read the first book to help follow back story and details. This is a dual POV book so it does switch between characters to give you perspectives from different angles. Alchemy of glass seamlessly meshes dark fantasy, history and science to make a believable and unique world. Not only are you reading from different perspectives of characters, but also from different points in time as well. In Alchemy of Glass, we continue with Gaelen, the immortal apothecary. Gaelen finds a piece of glass in an old friend’s journal that leads him on an epic journey and the need to recruit the help of Anne, who he was not always kind to in the previous book. Hopefully, together, they can prevent a catastrophic future and fix things before it is too late for everyone. This story is nicely written and easy to follow, even with the switches in characters and times. The character development was steady and smooth, and I think I liked this more than the first one.

Porter and Midge: Paws and Pastries is a cute children’s book filled with colorful illustrations and engaging rhyming story as we tag along with CJ and Lora along with Porter and Midge with a baking day. This story is cute as the idea of baking dog treats that Porter and Midge can enjoy…but also learning some safety. I loved the different recipes to try and can be a fun day of baking with the little ones.

Oh my now here’s a story to keep you up at night. The government controls everything….including your soul is now an asset.
The gods have cursed earth and now humans exist with half souls or worse no souls in a caste system the government controls. If they want a full soul they have to find their other soul half, however its possible they havent or wont ever even be born in their lifetime.
They are in caste tiers with chips implanted at birth and it controls everything about them and allows the government knowledge of everything everyone does and where they are. What’s worse even if you have rations (or cash still accepted) businesses can kick you out based on where you are ranked in a very corrupt system.
We meet Ebony who never wanted to find her soul mate, she only wanted her soul sister especially on her first meeting of a soul hunter Lark only seems to cement she doesnt want her soulhalf, but Lark cant shake Ebony and reconsiders helping her and the search for her soulhalf opens up so many questions, danger and corruption neither never knew existed, and I won’t ruin it for you but the question of the bond between soul mates being enough to overcome all is the leading question you’ll stay up reading wanting to answer.
This story is multi pov and is extremely well done dystopian story that has characters so well written you immediately fall in love with them and never want to leave the story. This is a can’t miss!!!

Porter and Midge and their pups have embarked on a new adventure. This time they are making their pups homemade dog treats. Paws and Pastries was adorable, well written, and well illustrated. I have always enjoyed spoiling my own dogs by making their food and homemade treats, so I’m always on the look out for new recipes to try, which this little book had quite a few of. It also discussed responsibility with their animals, recipes, using quality ingredients, nutrition, and for cooking with adult supervision. I really enjoy these children’s books.

When I first started reading this book I had no idea it was so far into the series. Now that I know I will definitely go back and read earlier books in this series because I enjoyed this one so much. I love a good MC story so I am glad that I found this series and this author. I was pulled into the story from the start. Bonnie broke up with her ex and he can’t seem to take no for an answer. Malice listened to his instincts and stepped in at the right time to stop Bonnie’s ex from kidnapping her. When her ex starts to escalate she has no choice but to turn to Malice but she doesn’t know if she should trust him. This book had a little bit of everything I love in a good read. I recommend diving right in. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Odds seem against them especially with mercenaries set to murder them.

I really enjoyed this collection of thirteen novellas all in one book, which made it easy to ‘binge read’ them! Avid romance reader Bella is searching for Mr. Right, or at least Mr. Right Now. The story starts with her breaking up with her husband of twelve years who cheated on her, known as Mr. Wimp. Bella decides to start online dating and each novella focuses on one of her dates with a selection of different men, some she connects with, others she doesn’t. Each story is lighthearted, fun, romantic and humorous. As Bella likes to act out some of the more spicy scenes from her romance books things also get rather steamy at times. I found Bella to be a likeable and relatable main character and I loved how with each date she found her confidence again. The overall storyline which ran through each novella kept me happily turning the pages, whilst the plot twists kept me hooked. I felt invested in Bella’s online dating journey.

It includes recipes of all shapes and sizes that are easy for children to bake, with the help of adults, of course, for their furry friends. They will put the magic ingredient needed love, into each stir of the spoon. Giselle and Jennie’s narrative is done in a rhyming way that helps children learn and become more interested in the story, as do the wonderful illustrations. Follow along as CJ and Lora discover the joy of making treats for their loving friends Porter and Midge.

This is such a great book for kids. Showing how they can make homemade treats for dogs. Including the recipes and most importantly a warning on what dogs cannot have is great. The illustrations and rhyming words are excellent in this cute and quick read. I’m looking forward to trying out some of these recipes on my own dog.

“Life is only sweet if you share it with your person”. What’s not to like about this book. Even though this is the fifth book in the series and the first one I’ve read, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything from the other four books.
From childhood friends to adults who fall in love. Best friends who end up fighting and making up. The Awwwww moments in this book is a lot. The amount of passages I’ve highlighted in this book is incredible. Usually it’s not this much. Definitely a wholesome romance book and definite recommendation.

I was a little unsure about reading this book with my kids as we aren’t a very religious family and I wasn’t sure how they would take it. However, they really seemed to engage with the story, especially my daughter who has been starting to learn about Christianity at school. This was the kind of book that led to a thoughtful and interesting discussion.
It was lovely to watch Andrew on his journey. The notes clearly meant to so much to him, and did so much for him. The author created them to be such a heart warming way to push him to believe in himself. The illustrations just made Andrew come to life even more. We all enjoyed this book in the end and we are all looking forward to more from this author.

This book is a brilliant romantic comedy that really does have you laughing out loud the whole way through. I thought the two main characters in this book were so entertaining. I instantly connected with them and found to be so easy to read about. However, I thought the supporting characters were all just as good. They each added something to the story and made it even better.
The overall storyline is the sort of one that is perfect for losing yourself in an afternoon of reading. It is fun, engaging and a joy to read through. I haven’t read much by this author but, after reading this book, I will definitely be reading more!

I really like the concept behind this story of not only the different types of homes, but also the different types of families within those homes. I love the sing-songy nature of the story and the illustrations that went along so well too. We also get to see different animals in their habitats as Ann has incorporated that into the different types of homes she represents. It’s just so imaginative and bold and bright and colorful and diverse. I really do love this book and Kim Ann is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.

Having recently read another book in this series, I was pleased to be able to get my hands on this one so soon. This book is just as a good as the first one I read and I really enjoyed the two characters are the centre of the story. They were complicated and flawed and yet completely perfect for each other. Their connection and chemistry was obvious and I loved watching how their story played out.
I thought the story was well written and interesting. The author knew how to move it forward at the right time and keep you interested from start to finish. I am pleased to see that this series has so many books to offer and I am looking forward to delving into them all.

I absolutely love the Porter and Midge series and I think this might be one of my favorites. In this installment, we get to hang out with Lora and CJ in the kitchen as they make treats for the doggies. I love the rhyming aspect of this story as well as the illustrations. But I think the thing I love the most is that at the end of the story there are recipes upon recipes for dog-safe treats for you and your littles to try. I love how interactive this book is. Definitely pick this one up and add it to your library!

This is the 4th book in the Shadow Defense series. Even though this is part of a series they can be read as a standalone. However that being said I feel that once you read one you will want to read them all.
This is a romance suspense read, filled with drama, angst danger, a race against time and sizzling chemistry. There are so many twists and turns in this story that you are left guessing what is going to happen, especially when the threat is something that could cause harm to the whole population with enemies in high places.
When Oceanographer Alexis Hayes finds a dangerous algae that could potentially cause harm to everyone who comes into contact with it, she knows she has to nutralise the threat. However, there are people that don’t want her coming forward with what she has found.
Now it is a race against time to get the sample to someone Alexis can trust, so she can find someone to help her. But this only brings her into the spot light of people who want to stop her at any costs.
Now she needs protection and that falls to Seb.
Together they need to find a way to stop this algae from causing global chaos while also protecting themselves from a threat they could never imagine possible.

This is a fast paced read, full of action, adventure, intrigue, and twists and turns which meant i couldn’t stop reading. I can’t wait to read more.

This is a good story but I am not a fan of the writing style. Every detail and thought is mentioned more than once which means it takes forever for the story to move along. This style makes me bored and I tend to skim but no worries I did not miss anything. I know this is fiction but I can not fathom a girl immediately bonding with another guy let alone going to his place in the middle of nowhere especially after almost being kidnapped.

Other than the above the characters are nice. Not sure about an MC running a ranch but that is a different avenue. This seems to be a small group that are unique. I liked both the main characters and even his MC family.

Overall for me this story has its ups and downs. This is exactly what I expected from this author due to previous books I have read. I did not love it but also did not hate it. This is a book in a large series and I have not read any other ones in this series. So maybe there are running storylines making this even out a lot of stuff.

Soul Sacrifice is an absolutely delectable dystopian romance by Courtney Davis. I loved this book, as it was a truly unique premise that will absolutely hook you right in. Once you start reading this it really is difficult to put down. I read this book in just 2 days, absolutely absorbed in Lark and Ebony’s journey. This book is perfectly paced, and keeps you guessing at every turn. While this is definitely an 18+ read, i absolutely recommend it! I can’t wait to see what else Courtney has in store, loved this author!

Forever to Fall was such a cute read! It is the 5th in the Buckeye Falls series but is totally fine as a standalone. This was my first read by this author and the first books are not necessary to be able to follow and enjoy this one. Although I am totally going to go back and read the others because it was such a fun story. It does get a little frustrating when the MMC can’t get past what is seemingly his own cowardice to tell Mal how he truly feels, and then in turn to be able to tell her brother/his best friend the truth of it as well. I get why he was hesitant, but think he was really selling his best friend short.
All in all, was really well written, wonderful characters and a happy ever after that wasn’t cheesy and cliche to get to. Easy to read and fun.

I am so happy she wrote this. Loved Tessa & James’s story so much and also loved seeing how Patrick and Evelyn’s story had evolved.
This story was so great!! Kept me reading until it was done.

Character development was fantastic (in both couples).
It kept me on my toes guessing who Tessa’s stalker was and the way it was all connected was very interesting and well written!
Highly recommend this duet to any reader!

Couldn’t put it down! First thing, it takes place in Canada! And I’m a Canadian girl 🇨🇦 and love rock and roll and hockey! 2 things I love and know well.
Hunter was amazing at showing the character growth and development, making sure the story left no holes or questions left unanswered and giving us readers our Happy Ever After!!! This is the first book I have read of Hunter’s and I really loved her writing style and short chapters (I didn’t even realize how much I prefer short chapters until now). I plan to look into more of her books now.
Amazing! Definitely recommend

The gods cursed humanity: you’re born with half a soul or no soul. To gain the other half, you must find your soul sister/brother and fight to the death. Dying, Ebony hires Lark, a searcher, to find her soul sister so she can sacrifice herself so that her soul sister can live with a full soul and have a better life. What she wasn’t counting on was finding her soulmate. Now she has the difficult decision to either give up her life or fight for the other half of her soul so she can have the strength to heal herself and live a wonderful life with her soul mate.

It was an interesting concept where the more soul you have the higher your status is to the government and society. Half souls are basically poor, and no souls are the scum of the world. You either stay a halfling and endure the hardships of trying to survive on half rations from the government and what little pay you make from working or you find your soul sister/brother and fight to the death and have better paying jobs, full rations, finding your soulmate and starting a family.

The story flows well and keeps you interested. I enjoyed the characters and their relationships evolving into something more than just business. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book.

Since Natalia is new in role Chara is worried about her and fells a sense of dread that something is going to happen to her. As Chara is trying to warn Natalia, Master Bistrita tells Chara there is no need to worry. Like I believe him. No amount of rational thinking would think this arrogant man that dismissed me like I was nothing would be my fated mate. For Bistrita, he figured destiny would probably never find someone to pair him with let alone a Fated mate. Then make that even more irrational to place this sassy red head in my path. Not only do I not have time for this with the Rogues and trying to gain control. Now I have to figure out a way to make Chara mine.

In order to flush out a past that is full of questions, they have to go undercover. As the investigation progresses, so do the stakes. With their family growing and responsibilities changing, can they balance it all to find out who the culprit is before it blows back on their family and friends? Or have they finally met their match?

I truly enjoy these stories! To me, this one felt a little like a novella than a novel. Usually there are multiple mysteries happening that all kind of feed into each other in some way; this one is not like that at all. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining! It was quite nice to just have the one mystery to keep track of in my mind. I liked getting to know a new character that is very similar to Emma. I think she needed someone to give her a run for her money! I hope to see their return in any upcoming books!
