Red Riding HoodRed Riding Hood by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Red Riding Hood (Down the rabbit hole) Anthology this book is made up of stories from 12 different authors. Book read- Ruby by Autumn Sands this is a 3.5 star read.
Ruby is a writer and six years ago married the love of her life, a man who was 20 years younger than her. Now Ruby has fought breast cancer and won, she is now waiting on reconstruction, but her marriage is heading for divorce, her husband has left her for another woman who is pregnant with his child.
Count Eric Moreau has recently lost his father and his brother so instead of living his life the way he planned he is now head of Moreau International. He also has the nickname the Wolf of Europe because of his reputation.
These two people meet and although there shouldn’t be anything there there is a connection. This was a short story it had a great ending but I wished it was longer.

What a great collection of stories all retelling the story of Red Riding Hood.

One of my favourites is by Autumn Sand. Her story follows a woman called Ruby who finds out her husband is leaving her for another woman while she is battling cancer.

With her husband gone she feels worthless and unattractive after having surgery to remove her breasts but how wrong she is.

Someone has their eyes on her and will stop at nothing to get her. With big eyes and big teeth the Wolf for Europe is ready to devour her and bring her back to life

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) Anthology

5-Stars

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) Anthology was amazing. There was a short story for every reader. I loved the variety and also that it was a different twist on the idea of Red Riding Hood. I had a difficult time picking my favorite story. Several O enjoyed included Cloaked by Lia Fairchild, Ruby by Autumn Sand, and Redd’s Wolves by D. A. Stein. Each story had amazing and interesting characters. I found it easy to relate to the main character Vanessa/Eva in Cloaked since I have worked in a similar setting she was in. This book was a wonderful collection and I can definitely see myself rereading several of these stories. I highly recommend it.

I was so stinking excited when this book started to trickle its way into my news-feed. I am a sucker for the classic stories that we have loved from childhood getting new spins with an adult twist or two. I have such a hard time telling myself no and usually end up buying these types of novels without knowing any details other than the premise of fairy tales re imagined. This anthology did not disappoint and I have a feeling this will be one I find myself rereading several times in the future. I loved that as much as I knew some awesome authors featured like Autumn Sand, but I also got to meet some new ones to follow. I will keep the review simple with a little bit about Autumn Sands Ruby.

Ruby by Autumn Sand:
This book was just as fabulous as I had hoped that it would be and more. We get the retelling of sorts of Red Riding Hood. This book will keep you enthralled and hooked with the romance and sensuality that is heavily laced throughout. I was completely enthralled to see what would happen with her and the tempestuous man she stumbles across.

The rest of the included authors that I at least want to mention their names for now are…
Amy Allen, CeeCee Elaine, DA Stein, Darlene Tallman, Jess Bagnall, Kay Elle Parker, Laci Page, Lia Fairchild, and Lorah Jaiyn.

I absolutely can guarantee if it is a classic/fairy tale reimagining I will likely snatch it up to add to my library. And I couldn’t wait to get this anthology in my hands.

I’m so thankful I did and enjoyed every single page. One of my favorites from the pack was the story from Autumn Sand. Just a fantastic, complex reimagining of a classic character and storyline.

If you love classic tales told in a twisted way, pick this up immediately.

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole)

A collection of 12 Authors retelling of Red Riding Hood. I will list a couple of my favourite short story’s for this collection:

Ruby by Autumn Sand. Ruby is a writer and this story starts as she is dealt devastating news. We then jump forward a couple of years and things are still looking very bleak for Ruby. She’s asked to interview Count Edric Moreau of Paris, France, also know as The Wolf Of Europe, his reputation precedes him. Edric makes Ruby believe in herself again, something she’s not been able to do for a very long time. Mrs Sands wrote these two characters perfectly they draw you in and leaves you wanting more. I really enjoyed reading this story.

River Runs Red by Kay Elle Parker. Daughter of a Huntress. Offspring of a wolf. Armed with a red cape, a wicker basket, and a knife, River must make it through the wolf-riddled forest…but not everything is as it seems, and trusting the wrong people could get her into trouble. Having left her fathers pack 13 years ago, vowing never to return, River has to visit her dying paternal Grandmother. I read this story in no time at all, the pages just kept flowing I was gripped from the start and wish there was more to this story. Such a good read. Thank you.

Red Riding Hood (Down The Rabbit Hole) is an anthology by a selection of brilliant authors. They have written a collection of amazing stories, all different versions of a well known classic.
This is the first time I have ever read a collection like this – effectively the same story told in multiple different ways. I honestly didn’t expect to like it at all, there are only so many times you can read the same story after-all. And yet each of these books were so unique that I enjoyed every single one of them.
I had read most of these authors before but it was nice to discover a couple of new ones. I very much enjoyed this anthology and can’t wait to read more of their individual works.

This is a great collection of short stories written by some great authors. Each author has written their version of Red Riding Hood. Each one is different, each one will have you turning pages fast. My favorite is by Autumn Sand – Ruby. This is a creative story about hope, love, betrayal and second chances. I won’t say too much other than it was an awesome story. What happens when you lose everything only to have something so much stronger come into your life? I highly recommend this anthology, it was worth picking it up. I found some new authors as well as a few favorites and I think you will too.

I truly enjoyed these stories which are based on Red Riding Hood. They pull you in and I found myself not wanting the put them down. I love anthologies as I have a chance to read stories by authors I am familiar with, but also new authors as well. Some stories are steamy and others romantic. They didn’t disappoint and I would recommend reading this anthology. There is one story that I found myself falling in love not only with the story but the characters as well. It is:

Ruby
Autumn Sand
5 out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved reading this version of Red Riding Hood. The story is romantic and sensual. It is a story that had me hooked from the first chapter to the last. I loved the character of Ruby. She is a woman who is dealing with a lot in her life. Will the man that she meets help her? Read the story to find out. The story is about temptation, seduction, and looking inside yourself. I found that the story ended far too soon, and I wanted to know what the future holds for Ruby. The author has done an amazing job of making you feel like you are right there with the character. This story is a favorite of mine in this anthology

Summmer Break: A Joe Football Novella by Autumn Sand got me so pumped about the next book in this series. We get a quick update with Favor, Brice, Jana, Wayne and Cal and what an update it is.

Everyone is on summer break and heading to New York on a roadtrip. Everything started out the way everyone expected but things changed quickly.

It was so nice getting caught up with everyone and get a sneak peak on what the story line for the next book is.

The story flew by, wish it had been a little longer only because I like this group a lot.

Summer Break: A Joe Football Novella by Autumn Sand. I love Autumn Sand so when I see her name I’m reading it. This is a short novella and it helps if you have read Joe Football first. Its the continuing story of Brice & Favor, college students who take a summer break to travel to New York with their friend Egon. Egon is in a band and they are going to New York to record an album. Along the way the trip is full of different personalities, moods and tempers. It’s an eventful trip! Even though this is a novella its a fast paced love story and it really gets you involved. You really need to read this quick, fun book. Its full of trouble, love and fun personalities! Brice and Favor have been thru so much will this trip be the end of them or will it make them stronger than ever? Read Summer Break to find out!

Summer Break by Autumn Sand was a very short but precious book. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the book that came before this one so I feel as if I missed a lot of background story and information pertaining to the characters but it didn’t take anything away from this book. I was able to follow along and understand things just fine. I enjoyed the characters, their personalities, and the storyline of this book. A group of friends going off on a summer vacation… what can be better than that? There was a lot of emotions packed in to this book in the form of secrets and the ins and outs of friendships. It was written very well and gripped me from start to finish.

Summer Break: A Joe Football Novella is a standalone by Autumn Sand and it is part of her college romance series of Joe Football. It was such a fun to meet up with Favor, Brice, Jana, Wayne and Cal again and be part of their road trip to New York.
I have read more or less everything that Autumn has written and I think it does not matter whether she writes for us grown-ups or for young adults, she hits the spot every time! Even when the story seems so straight forward on the surface, she manages to throw in a curveball and that is also the case with this novella … at times love is just not enough and secrets do have power to tear friends apart!
I am looking forward to whatever comes next in the Joe Football series and I am keeping my fingers crossed that Autumn gives us …

Summer Break (A Joe Football Novella) by author Autumn Sand follows the events of Joe Football showing what the group is up to during their summer break. Brice, Favor, Wayne, Jana and Cal are on their way to NYC to spend the summer with their friend Egon and his band. While there they will question relationships, love and life. Choices will be made, secrets found out and friendships tested before the end of the summer. What will become of this group of friends?
It has been a while since I read Joe Football and you really need to read that before taking on Summer Break. Once I started Summer Break though, it all started coming back to me and I enjoyed seeing what happens with this core group of friends. I can’t wait to see what comes next for Brice and Favor as well as Jana and Wayne!

Summer Break by Autumn Sand is a great Novella. This series should be read in order to get the full story of what is going on. This is a continuation of Favor and Brice. It’s a couple I have grown to love. They have not had an easy time but any obstacles have brought them closer together with a stronger bond.
While on summer break they find out some information that can tear their group of close knit friends apart. I’m dying right now worrying about what will happen.
I have been a huge fan of this author since the first book I’ve read of hers. This series is a bit different from what I’ve read of hers but, I love it and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Summer Break: A Joe Football Novella by Autumn Sand reunites us with Brice and Favor from “Joe Football”. I enjoyed the first book- so catching up with Brice and Favor for this story was an added bonus.
It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading Joe Football before beginning this book- as there is a lot of backstory and other important information that is worth knowing in order to enhance your reading experience of this book.
This is a short story, with a fast pace- which makes it a very quick and easy read. Though it may be small in size, there is nothing lacking about the story, or content- there was a lot packed into a small space and it felt like a much longer story (in a good way).
Brice and Favor have been through so much, and are taking a much needed break. We follow along as these two travel to New York with their friend Egon, who is playing in a band. But just because they are off to have fun doesn’t mean it will all be smooth sailing for them.
Looking forward to more from Ms. Sand.

Thank you, Autumn Sand!

Summer Break by Autumn Sand a super five-star read. This is a novella in the Joe Football series, it could be read as stand-alone but I would recommend you read Joe Football first, to get the most out of the story, or else you would want to go back and read it and you would have major spoilers. Favor, Favor, Favor what are we to do with you, you break my heart every time. (not just because she gets to snuggle up next to Brice at night) These characters will make you care about them even in such a short amount of pages, you would be sorry to miss this novella as it does a great job of bringing a great and complex story together in a short amount of pages and still making it hookable.

Summer Break by Autumn Sand is a Joe Football Novella. This book is a standalone novella. If you want more backstory on Brice and Favor, I suggest reading Joe Football first. You won’t miss anything if you don’t though.

Brice and Favor’s friend Egon is in New York City recording an album with his band. Favor decided that it would be a great idea for their whole group to spend the summer in New York City together and have some fun! What does the summer hold for Brice and Favor? What about the rest of the group? One things for sure, they will make some memories.

This was such a good book to read. It was a quick read but didn’t make you feel like it was missing anything. I really enjoyed this book!

Summer Break is a novella which is part of the Joe Football series. Although part of this series it can be read as a novella. I have read a lot of Autumn Sand’s work but had not read Brice and Favor’s story, which I now need to remedy, but the author does a great job in filling in any necessary info needed to understand what’s going on.
I really loved this novella. Brice & Favor and the group of friends they are on their break with seem like a great bunch of people with so many stories to be told. I really want to know what’s going to happen with Jana and Wayne. There is definitely a great story to be told and I’m sure Autumn Sand will do a fantastic job.
Every book of her I’ve read has fantastic characters and also storylines that really grasp you and leave you unable to put the book down and this novella was no different. She really does know how to bring great characters to life and give them a damn good story to hook the reader.
I loved this novella and really must go and read Brice and Favor’s story as, judging by the little snippets of their past we are given, it looks like one hell of a story.

What’s a road trip without a few bumps? Especially with 5 people in the same car! This is a fun, quick, sweet read about Brice and Favor and their friends, with an emphasis on their friendships. Brice and Favor are still hot and heavy starting in chapter 1 but the rest of the story is mostly about relationship changes and communication.

I suggest reading Joe Football as you will understand these characters a little bit more. Things happened in that story that aren’t quite explained in this novella.

Looking forward to what comes next since Autumn Sand ending this story so dramatically!

Summmer Break: A Joe Football Novella by Autumn Sand. Oh I can’t even begin to explain how excited I was to be back with this amazing couple I met a while back. You can read this as a stand-alone but I will recommend the Joe football story as it’s just as amazing and introduces Most the characters. Brice and Favor just hold a piece of my heart and I was glad to be reading about them again along with their friends. Once again this author brings romance to a new level and takes readers on an adventure that won’t be forgotten with characters that steal your heart. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. It may be a novella but it still packed full with everything you’d want in a story. Five stars all the way!

Let me start by saying that It’s been a while since I read Joe Football (book 1). I reread my review and went wow….I really loved that book. Once I delved into this one it all came back. The characters, the story…it’s like I never left. This one is just as engaging and thought provoking. My only wish was that it’s a full fledged story. Yes I am going to use the dreaded word of cliffhanger. I am not a fan of them.

Anyway we get to hang out with Brice, Favor and the crew for a bit in the summer. It’s nice to see Egon playing and being so musicianish. Even Wayne is there hoping for something with Jana. Cal and his dance skills make their debut as well. Brice and Favor are still making google-oogly eyes at each other.

Another good story from Autumn Sand. I look forward to more.

Summer Break by Autumn Sand is A Joe Football Novella. This book can be read as a standalone and is a great quick story that provides more backstory to already loved characters.
It was great to be able to jump back into these characters. As a short read I found this book to be perfect for a lazy afternoon where I could let myself get lost in the characters and their story. The author has done a great job of creating a story that is short but also packing a punch. It never at any point felt like it was rushed or missing something.
I would definitely say that if you had read Joe Football then you need to add on this story. If you haven’t then this is a great way to showcase these characters and the writing skill of this author.

I was really excited to read this novella after reading and loving Joe Football and it didn’t disappoint at all. I loved seeing the characters back again and reading about their summer! Autumn Sand is absolutely one of my favourite authors so whilst this book is only a novella because of the type of author she is, it was really well written and there was just enough detail in it to keep me interested. There were also a few small unexpected twists in the story which I loved! It could be read as a standalone but I think to fully understand the characters and their background I would definitely recommend reading Joe Football first.

Summer Break: A Joe Football Novella is the first I have ready by Autumn Sand. It definitely had a novella feel to it, as it didn’t go very deep. I felt like it was a little lacking and I wasn’t fully invested in any of the characters. This could be because I haven’t read Joe Football, which sounds like it would give the background. So while this can be a stand alone, its a brief skim of their summer, and wasn’t detailed enough to pull me in. I recommend reading the first book first, to be fully invested. Overall the story was not bad, and I definitely want to know what happens to Wayne and Jana, so I plan to read the next book when it is released. However, as far as Brice and Favor, being the main characters, I wasn’t as interested as I would hope. The bonds between the characters are well written, and the emotions are felt throughout the story. I like the writing style of Sand, and will be reading more. I just need to go back and read the first book to be able to appreciate this one more.

When all they wanted to do was have an awesome summer break, you just know that there’s a lot more to come than cupcakes and rainbows lol secrets and relationships tested. I loved it and can’t recommend it high enough!

Read Joe Football before this one, which is what I’m going back to do so I’m all ready for the next in this series…I can not wait!
