By Bea Stevens
Rated 5 stars

Another great book in this series! Pretty sure this is my new favorite in the series. This is well written, easy to follow along and has an amazing lead character. This story is interwoven very well. I spend as much time as Libby trying to figure things out.

Libby is a undeveloped sleuth with a passion for fashion. She does seem to attract trouble like a moth to a flame. But that’s what makes this so good and fun to read.
I really love how exuberant Libby is…well over most things but especially when she see James. She is so happy to see him and be enveloped in his arms for a Big Ol Hug. I can feel all her feelings coming off the pages at me. Her happy go lucky attitude makes me read this with a smile or a “Oh” on my face.

We see quite a few characters from her previous books. They all help or hinder Libby but to hang out with them is like coming home. Her family is wonderful. Her Dad and Mom are so funny just how her parents should be. I can see where Libby gets her attitude from. I loved how Zak referred to his mother and how he tried to convince Libby she was a real alien (Mothership) haha! Her family and friends all fit together perfectly.

This is my third book in this series and I can not wait for more.

If The Shoe Fits... (The Liberty Lawrence Series Book #3)If The Shoe Fits… by Bea Stevens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If The Shoe Fits is the 3rd book in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone. I started from book 2 and didn’t have any problem in understanding the books. I do however now have the first book on my kindle so I can see how this fab series started.
Liberty (Libby) is still a funny, quirky character who seems to get into trouble at work without meaning to. Her character is further developed in this book and you can’t help but love her, even with all her faults.
Living the dream now, Libby finally has her ideal job in the fashion section of the newspaper, but will it be all she hoped for? Well, in true Libby fashion there are quite a few bumps along the ride. Would we have expected anything less of her? With a new boss who doesn’t like her and her and some very poor quality clothing in the new range she’s been asked to work on, how will Libby cope?

If the Shoe Fits by Bea Stevens is the third book in The Liberty Lawrence series. This can be read as a stand alone book but I recommend reading the first two books before this one. Libby is advancing in her career but has gotten herself into some crazy happenings again. She is still the fashionista and working in the fashion department of the paper. I love the humor in these books and the characters. Libby is over the top at times but is a good person. She gets herself into some funny situations. I also like the supporting characters and how everyone plays a part in the story. I enjoyed this as I did the other two books. These are a great, lighthearted read when you need to relax and have a laugh. I look forward to more from Bea Stevens in the future.

The story If The Shoe Fits… (The Liberty Lawrence Series Book #3) by Bea Stevens is the next amazing book featuring the loveable fashionista Liberty “Libby” Lawrence. It is a story that has humorous dialogue and a storyline that will hook you in and keep you reading until you finish the last page. Reading about Libby is like catching up with a friend, one with wonderful fashion sense and the ability to say things as they are. While Libby doesn’t always mean to her suggestions or comments are sometimes taken the wrong way. In this story, Libby finds herself with a dream job in the fashion section of ‘Woman Matters’ the Chronicles female supplement. She also finds herself with Valerie Fulton-Coombes as her boss. Valerie comes across as a boss more worried about reputation than anything else. Will she affect Libby’s career in the fashion section? Quinton Bellis is a man whose fashion collection seems to be of poor quality however has caught the eye of Valerie. Is Bellis all that he seems to be? Will James be able to find out the one who would threaten harm to Libby? How much danger is Libby in? Can James keep her protected? Read this book to find out. There are other characters that you read about and some such as Libby’s amazing best friend and her boyfriend James have been brought forward from the previous books. I loved the romance included in the story. There is also a feeling of family and home that shines through. This is a book that had me smiling, laughing out loud, and with a heartwarming feeling. There are also times when I wondered what would happen next. Slip on your Louboutin’s and get lost in Libby’s story. It is a book and series I highly recommend reading. I am hoping for and will be watching to see if there is another story.

This is a sweet story that has mystery and suspense mixed into it. Libby gets a job with a fashion section but her boss is not the nicest. What will happen when a look alike hoodie from the collection could have been used in a crime? Lives are now at stake and there just maybe no one to help. Libby’s character is great and made me laugh a little bit, plus her mouth has a habit of getting her in trouble. Creative story and I enjoyed the twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.

Libby can’t believe her luck when she lands the job in the fashion section of ‘Woman Matters’ the Chronicle’s female supplement. She also can’t believe how horrid her new boss, Valerie Fulton-Coombes is.
She’s thrilled to be set to work on a new personalised clothing collection until she realises its poor quality – which would have been apparent even if she hadn’t accidentally torn one of the tops. Valerie, however seems besotted by the clothes, and even more besotted by the designer, George Clooney look-alike, Quinton Bellis.
Libby digs out some information about Bellis and his company which Valerie would rather not hear. When a similar hoodie to that in the collection is significant in an attempted kidnap, Valerie is devastated – especially as she’d misunderstood the reason for the police’s visit and blurted out a lot of personal incriminating information they didn’t need to hear and she certainly didn’t need to confess.
Things go from bad to worse when Valerie and Libby realise someone wants them dead. Can James help this time? Can anyone save them? And is it wise to put all your faith in a shoe when lives are at stake – even if it is a Louboutin?

Best Foot Forward is the first book of Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. This is my first book from this author. Her characters are witty and full of spunk. This series is going to be one of the series that will keep you reading because it is a fun easy read. Liberty or Libby is someone I can see being friends. Her outgoing innocence is too funny. She comes up with her own suspicions that could have happens. She tells the Detective Sergeant James Harper her view of the crime. She is so believable that Detective Sergeant James believes she is the thief. Keep reading to see what Libby going to do-will she be able to shed some light on the case or will she fail?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my second read by this author and i liked it just as much as the first book. Its funny and lighthearted and just a breath of fresh air in the mix of books I’ve read lately. This is the second book in The Liberty Lawrence series but it can be read as a standalone. With that being said, i would suggest reading them in order because there are characters that you are introduced to in the first book that are also in this one. PLUS it is also a good read.
Libby just recently started a job as a reporter but man is her boss Dave a floozy. He runs around like a chicken with its head cut off and often lives her hanging without a word and he doesn’t treat her well either. When life get tough she has to decide if the course she is on is worth it or if she should step it up and move in a different direction.
I enjoyed this book and i am looking forward to reading more by this author.
I would recommend this book to a friend!

This book is perfect for anyone that wants a good, funny, lighthearted read! I was entertained from the very first page and i thought this was a great way to start a series. This fun story is about Libby. She is a junior manager at a hotel and she LOVES designer shoes. When Libby founds out her boss’s office is the site of a theft, she is convinced she knows who the culprit is BUT, unfortunately the investigating officer isn’t convinced her theory is true and dismisses her. The banter between those two is hilarious! I couldn’t get enough of those two. I am looking forward to reading more of this series and more by this author!

Stepping It Up is book two in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. Even though this is the first book I have read by this author, and I have missed book one, I have read nothing but good feedback on this series, and knew I would enjoy it regardless of what order I read the books.

Libby is a reporter with a sassy, quirky outlook on life. She feels a bit isolated in her new job, and is having trouble connecting with colleagues and superiors. This story shines a light on so many dilemmas, starting a new job, trying to make a good impression on the bosses, finding love, and so much more. I had many moments of laughter, frustration on behalf of Libby, contentment, astonishment. I was constantly impressed, speechless and out of breath. Never did the author give me a moment without something dramatic to read. A never ending plethora of pleasure. 4 stars.

Stepping It Up by Bea Stevens is the second book in the Liberty Lawrence series .The trials and tribulations of Libby continues in this fun book. She is now working as a reporter for the Daily Chronicle but is having a hard time getting into the system at work. Her boss runs everywhere and she is not feeling very welcome.
I am glad to read about Libby again. She is full of fashion and has a habit of falling into odd situations. This is a fun read that had me laughing at the exploits. This can be read as a standalone but trust me start with book one to get the back story of the characters. The characters are more developed in this book and have all grown on me. Also, the story flows and moves quickly. This is a great read to get away from the everyday. I look forward to more Liberty Lawrence in the future.

Best Foot Forward by Bea Stevens is the The Liberty Lawrence Series . Liberty aka Libby is a fun, fashionista who works in a hotel. What happens when there is a theft and she has a possible suspect in mind? In steps a handsome officer working the case that she finds herself being attracted to more and more. This is a cute, lighthearted story. If you are label conscious you will find that you are familiar with the brands that she is mentioning. Despite that I find Libby to be a fun character. This story made me laugh which I really enjoyed. There are some silly escapades but I grew to care about what would happen with Libby. Also, when I finished the book I was already wanting to jump to the next book.

4 STars!!!!

I just found myself getting lost in this book. I couldn’t put it down. I found the author’s writing style to be quite addictive. I really found the characters to be realistic and relatable. I really found myself routing for Libby. I really enjoyed how the author was able to entwine enough drama and just a hint of romance to keep you glued to the pages.

I like how Libby is down to earth and how her character feels real. The drama that unfolds in the book just adds to it and keeps the reader interested. I also like how Libby and James have their ups and downs and how they really pull out of them and seem to grow stronger. I was a bit anxious when it came to James’ ex but it seems that even that drama couldn’t bring them down. I will definitely be reading more from this author and hopefully this series.

The Liberty Lawrence Series Book 1
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

This is a wonderful book. There is drama, mystery, romance, and humor all throughout. The story is sweet and flowed very nicely.

Liberty or as she is know by her friends, Libby, is a good friend and a hard worker, but she gets on my nerves sometimes. She is very self conscious when it comes to dating, and she overthinks everything. I love that she wants to investigate the theft for real with her best friend Cassie, and they seem to be on to the person responsible, until there not.

I really like Detective James Harper. At first I thought he was going to be a jerk, but then he turns it all around on me and makes me love him. He doesn’t believe Libby when she tells him who she thinks the thief is, due to her having a very personal issue with that so called thief.

Connor. Libby’s boyfriend Conner also works at the hotel and has recently been spotted hanging out and being way too friendly with the bar maid Bianca. I believe Conner thinks he is God’s gift to women for the way he acts and some of the suggestions he makes regarding his relationship with Libby and his relationship with Bianca!

The ending had me smiling. I was surprised at who the thief turned out to be and the way Libby’s life was turned around. The ending was a beautiful wrap up to such a good book, I could not put it down. I would definitely recommend this book!

Stepping It Up by Bea Stevens
The Liberty Lawrence Series Book 2
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

The second book in the Liberty Lawrence series is just as great as the first book. This book can be read as a stand alone but, I think it’s better to read the first one too, to get the background of some of the characters like Tom, Cassie and James.

In this book it seems that Libby is in all sorts of trouble and is getting the blame for everything that happens. She is now working for the paper and is going after stories with her partner Dave. She can’t stand working in the department she is in because there are some snotty girls and then Dave she has to deal with, the only bright side, she gets to be near her friend Tom. Libby still overthinks everything, as she usually does, and gets into trouble more than a couple times with jumping to the wrong conclusions.

When she meets James’ ex-wife Suzanne things start looking grim for her future relationship with him. There is a nice loud argument between Suzanne and Libby at a gala that turns things from bad to worse and, it seems Suzanne will be sticking around because she is trying to sell her and James’ house, but she doesn’t realize she is being conned. James has to spend a lot of his money and time on this case and it is wearing on his relationship with Libby.

James’ ex wife Suzanne is a real piece of work and some of the things she says or thinks she is owed makes me want to slap her. I can definitely understand Libby’s frustration with the situation, but also I am confused why it is taking so long for James and Libby to push forward with their relationship. I loved this second installment and have a feeling there will be a third, and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this hot mess they are all in!

What can I say, I fell madly in love with this series from the get go. Liberty is one of those characters that is completely relatable and you have no choice but to love her on site.

Her new job is a reporter and unfortunately its not all cracked up to what she thought. Chandler, the guy she’s supposed to shadow runs everywhere which prove to be rough on her shoes. Not only that, but he sneaks off without her. The girls in the office don’t necessarily like her plus she crushes on doesn’t seem to notice her.

These book are seriously addicting and completely relatable. I’m impatiently tapping my foot for book 3!

Best Foot Forward is the first in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. This was such a light – hearted, fun, enchanting, perfect binge read for the weekend book. I was completely captivated from the get go and was so excited to jump into book 2 next.

Liberty has to be one of my favorite Heroine’s. She loves her fashion but she has a clumsy side that us so easy to fall in love with. She is the junior manager at a London hotel where her boss’s office has had a theft. She’s quite positive she knows who it is but the hot as all get out detective doesn’t really care what she has to say about it.

There was not one thing I didn’t love about this book. Miss Stevens did a beautiful job setting up the building blocks for this series and I’m dying for more!

My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stepping It Up (The Liberty Lawrence Series #2) by Bea Stevens was a fun light hearted read that was both entertaining and a little bit crazy.

Picking up close to where the last book left off, we follow Libby once again on her mischievous adventures and her quirky way of navigating life. This time she’s at a new job, trying to workout a new relationship and trying not to get caught in anything that might get her caught up into something messy like in the first book.

Like the first book, the writing is solid, the flow smooth and the tone matched the atmosphere. I found that Libby had more character development in this book, and I actually enjoyed her character even more. Sure there are some predictable moments, but nothing that made me like this book less. As this is book two I do suggest reading the first book, as there is needed background and character intros that will help guide you in this read.

Overall I had a time reading this book, it was a perfect weekend read that left me all happy and fuzzy on the inside. So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall in love with this quirky rom-com.

Happy Reading

Stepping It Up by Bea Stevens is the second novel in a series following the life of Liberty Lawrence. This novel continues the story from the first book and I do not recommend reading it as a standalone. She starts a new career in this novel and it was wonderful following her as she adjusts to her new position and also to her new romance with James. There were many surprises in this novel for her. I love her character. She is fun, caring, practical, and funny. Some of her comments had me laughing out loud. This was such a sweet easy romance to read and get lost in as well as having a little mystery in it. I look forward to following this character I. This series and reading more from this author.

I still absolutely love Libby; she is such a funny and genuine character to read about. I love that she still had her obsession with shoes and fashion. Again, she provided a lot of entertaining moments and I really do think the author has created a wonderful character – this is one of those books I can imagine being made into a really enjoyable chick flick!

This is the second novel in the Liberty Lawrence series and it’s just as if not more charming and funny as the first one in the series, I would recommend you read them in order as you do get to meet a lot of characters and you get the most when you read them all, the underlying nuances that you may otherwise miss. Libby is so much fun, I don’t identify with her in many ways apart from the clumsiness and the shoes. Best Foot Forward was funny, exciting, mysterious, and romantic. I literally laughed out loud at some of the scenes in this novel. Liberty cracked me up with her inner monologue and rambling. She did her best to solve the crime but also hated the thought of ruining someone else’s life. The twist and actual thief though definitely deserved what the end result was. Best Foot Forward (The Liberty Lawrence Series #1) by Bea Stevens was a sweet, light hearted read that hits you right in the good feels department.

My first read from this author and I’m liking what’s being put out. A fun light heart read with witty dialogue, exciting characters, a mystery, and of course a hot cop, made for an entertaining, engaging read that had me flipping the pages. I will say that, I did at times find myself annoyed with the inner dialogue of the MC. She’s very into fashion and brands, and as someone who doesn’t care about labels, I found the constant high end label name drops, annoying. I get it, it’s part of the character’s persona, but it was too much.

Speaking of the MC, Libby was something. But I don’t like how over the top, the clumsy, bad luck, trope was bestowed on her was. It got to the point where the surprise was taken away, and I just rolled my eyes when she fell, tripped, or ruined something… again. Once in awhile is fine, but like her label dropping, it was too much. But overall she was a pretty solid character, and she did grow on me. I liked how she kept pushing forward and how loyal she was to her bestie.

Overall this story was sweet, fun, and entertaining as hell. I love the ending, way to leave a girl hanging! I need to know if that last scene was stage or true! Good thing I already have the second book. And will be jumping into that one ASAP!

So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will have the time of your life reading this book.

I read the second book first in this series and when I was finished all I could think of is I have to read the first. I love love love Libby in these books…I can relate to her because Im nothing like her, well not completely but she is someone I would love to be friends with.

I knew going in that I was going to love this book. I was so happy to be able to read about how her and Jack came to be or not to be as the case may be sometimes lol. This story made me laugh out loud on a few occasions but I smiled literally all the way through. I loved Mrs Merrington-Smythe..Next to Libby she was my favorite part of this book well and of course Popsie 🙂

I can seriously see these books being made into a movie and I know I would absolutely love that, they are so much fun and full of fun little twists and turns. I read this one in one sitting and now want to go read the second one again and wait not so patiently for the next.

Loved It!!

Libby’s new job as a reporter for the Daily Chronicle is proving quite challenging for the following reasons:
Number 1: Her mentor, Dave Chandler, likes to run everywhere which means she has to do the same. Her Karen Millens are already ruined and her new Kurt Geigers are heading the same way. Everyone else gets to take taxis or the Tube. Surely that counts as discrimination or something?
Number 2: None of the girls in the news room seem to like her—even though they’ve never even met her! It’s just plain rude—and very hurtful!
And Number 3: Dave Chandler is a bit odd—and that’s without the running thing. He’s very proud of all his trophies and awards but won’t help Libby get any. He won’t divulge who his contacts are—although some of them sound a bit iffy—and he keeps sneaking off without her despite the fact she’s supposed to be shadowing him.

Cassie Beaumont, her bestie and flatmate, is doing really well in her new job, which only makes Libby feel worse about her own. Cassie and Rob are also really close, which is how Libby wants to be with James Harper—she fancies the pants off him— but he seems very distracted.

She realises it’s time for sorting out her life and stepping it up—in more ways than one!

Best Foot Forward (The Liberty Lawrence Series Book 1) by Bea Stevens – Review by Maura Harper

Best Foot Forward (The Liberty Lawrence Series #1)Best Foot Forward by Bea Stevens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read book 2 before book 1 and even knowing how delightfully quirky Liberty is, it was like reading her for the first time. There is just something about her that makes me want to be her friend.

BEST FOOT FORWARD is a quick and funny read with a bit of mystery, a bit of delusional thinking and a lot of humor. The characters are fully developed, the settings are well described and the story flows smoothly from beginning to end.

I’m struggling with not giving this book 5 stars, but there is just something about it. Maybe it’s that my new bestie is so quirky that I want to dig a bit deeper into what makes her tick. I’m not sure. (It could also be the mood I’m in today)

I will absolutely continue to read this series.

Rated 4 stars

This is a good mystery. The story flows nicely and the characters are colorful. Liberty and Cassie, who are roomies and BFF’s, get into so much trouble together…or separately. Their antics amuse me. Liberty or Libby is the main character of the story. She is very observant as a junior manager should be. She has fun and worries about the patrons of the hotel. She really shines as she tries to figure out the case. Sergeant James Harper has repeated frustration at Liberty for taking the law into her own hands. His worry that she could endanger herself is a pretty valid reason. She seems to have a nose for clues as well as is accident prone. If only he didn’t fancy her so much his job might be easier Working and living in a hotel would be different. The crew feels like family but they are not and jealousy and friendship are all around. Everyone’s lives seem to intertwined. The bartender, the front desk, the chef, waitresses and more.

This isn’t my first Book by this author. I enjoy how she tells the story. The characters are flavorful and abundant. It’s a good read for some mystery, a little romance and a some fun.
