This book is the second in a series. It works quite well on its own and is easily followed. But it does pick up from the first book and would be enjoyed following it. After the initial set up, the story is fast paced and holds your attention well. Elinor Chalamet is bored and looking for another adventure. She definitely finds one at the Winter Revels. This was a captivating read and enjoyable!

This was the second book to the series, and it did not disappoint just like the first one. Recommend reading the first book in the series first thou. This book was just as enjoyable as the first one. I really enjoyed this book adventure, with historical fantasy, paranormal, some mystery. The book is quite a fast paced which kept me wanting to know what happened next but always surprised me, and really held me attention. The story line and plot were very thought out and the fast pace and growth with it made it very enjoyable. The characters are extremally well written that fit perfectly into the story with each other. Elinor is a very strong will women that talks to ghosts and tries to help with finding out what has happened. The connection between both Elinor and the Duke is more in depth with this story which I found a nice little instalment and entertaining read. Highly recommend this book.

Delicious Death: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries #2 by Byrd Nash
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Delicious Death is the second book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Series. The author knows how to capture the reader’s attention. I finished this book within an hour.
Elinor is bored by the lack of dead people. She is still looking for her father’s killer, but nothing is coming up. She visits a friend only to be visited by a ghost. The quote I chose for Elinor is: “I’d suggest going as soon as possible. Claude’s spirit should be quiet for about a week, not much longer.”

Elinor Chalamet brings some unexpected intensity to my usually boring evenings! Love love love!! I am completely obsessed with the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mystery series and I can’t wait to read the third book! This series has everything that a cozy mystery needs! Elinor is relatable and intelligent and her relationship with the duke is so much fun to read! This was truly a great installment and it was so easy to fall right back into this delightful paranormal gaslamp fantasy! Even the character development was so realistic between Elinor and the duke it just hints at what’s to come without giving it all away. The ending had my jaw on the floor, very refreshingly unexpected! This book was easy to read but so hard to put down! I felt like I was flying through pages eager to find out more! I highly recommend this book to lovers of cozy gaslamp mysteries and people just looking for a fun series to read! Thank you Byrd Nash!!!

This is the second book in the Madame Chalamet series. I really enjoyed this book. I love the combination of supernatural and mystery. Elinor is bored. Things have been quiet for her recently and there’s been no reason to use her skills to communicate with ghosts. She is wanting some excitement in her life and boy does she get that when an invitation to the Winter Revels turns from what should be a enjoyable time into a time of mystery and danger as Elinor has to try and figure out who has made the attempt on the Kings life. When her favourite chef is under suspicion of the crime she needs to use all her detective skills to find the person who really committed the crime. Add to this a widower who needs help grieving their loved one and a young society woman who needs saving from a brute of a man and Elinor is definately over her feelings of boredom.
I love the mixture in this book and how Elinor uses her skills of talking to ghosts to help people as well as solve cases. There is also a slow burn romance in this story which I am excited to see where it leads. Elinor is a strong determined lady who isn’t prepared to give up anything for a man so it will be interesting to see how this will evolve. I loved it and can’t wait for the next one.

A very intriguing and captivating Supernatural/Mystery book! The introduction of Madame Chalamet in this first book of Byrd Nash’s series opens with a lot of questions that get answered throughout the book. Her character and abilities of not only ghost talking but also deduction make her a very interesting woman! I really enjoyed this book and the twists and turns throughout! I found that initially the introduction was a bit confusing but I was able to complete the puzzle very quickly. I had a great time reading this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a different kind of mystery book that pulls you in and keeps you asking for more!
This is the second book in the series by Byrd Nash. I was excited to read this after finishing the first so quickly. I enjoyed this one just as much. The characters grow from the previous book and I was drawn even more to Elinor. It was a fast read. If you like ghosts and strong female leads, I highly recommend this series.

Delicious Death is the second book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series by Byrd Nash. This is another superb Gaslamp fantasy with cozy mystery, crime & investigation, ghosts, history, paranormal elements, the supernatural, a dark and moody atmosphere, intrigue, adventure, humour, and dramatic developments. I loved the first book in this series, Ghost Talker, so there was never any question that I would be reading this as soon as it released. Ms. Nash proves again to be quite a talented author, bringing us another captivating instalment in this wonderful Gaslamp cozy mystery series. Elinor Chalamet uses her mediumship skills to help solve puzzling mysteries. This time thwarting an assassination attempt but solving the case will keep her on her toes. A great, fun little historical whodunnit mystery. All cleverly woven into a Gaslamp fantasy with a period setting- which gave it an extra element of interest for me. As with the first book, it is fresh, and fun- with wonderful characters and a moody atmosphere which gives the whole story added intrigue. I am looking forward to seeing what Elinor gets up to in the next book/s. Bring on Book #3! Happy Reading…

Ghost Talker is the first book in the series by Byrd Nash. We begin by meeting Madame Elinor Chalamet. I very quickly fell in love with her character. She is confident, snarky, and takes charge. She can speak to ghosts and is whisked away to help the Duke de Archambeau, Tristan Fontaine. He comes off as snooty and not really believing her, even though he wanted her help. I loved how the relationship between them developed. I also liked how we get tidbits into other mysteries that may be solved in upcoming books! Definitely recommend this series and looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed this cozy. This story is different than normal cozies and I enjoy that. I can’t wait to find out more about the romances in the next book. Exciting ghosts , possible murder, and slow burn romance! This is a great addition to the Ghost Talker series.

This time the King’s life is in danger. Can she use her ghost-talking skills to solve the mystery before Duc d’Archambeau? Culinary delights, ghosts, mystery, and more kept me tearing through the pages. The author gives a great amount of detail, witty repartee between the characters, and an interesting setting. I had not had a chance to read book one yet, but book 2 definitely didn’t disappoint! Despite not having read book 1, I found book 2 to be a very enjoyable read and I was able to follow the story line quite well. I absolutely fell in love with all of the characters, even the Noisy Ghost. I love how independent both Elinor and Charlotte are and how quickly they are willing to jump into action, whether it’s to save a ghost, save a lady, or save the king. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Tristan Archambeau and Elinor, seeing our strong fearless heroine keeping the stoic duke on his toes is quite enjoyable. I am intrigued to see how the rest of the series goes and how they will continue to find each other in new situations. If you like humor along with a mystery twist, full of great characters, and red herrings all over, this is a great series to pick up!

Ghost Talker: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Volume 1 is the first book in a 6 part series. I have read other books by this author, and this did not disappoint. This is a relatively short read but packs a lot into the pages. Madame Chalamet is a medium trained by the elite Morpheus Society. She is trying to solve the mystery of her father’s death. She also has to contend with Tristan Fontaine, duke de Archambeau, who is part of another investigation. I like her quick wit and sarcasm. I like the back-and-forth conversations with Tristan Fontaine. I love the setting and the story. This is a gaslamp fantasy with lots of interesting characters. Madame Chalamet, Elinor, is a great character. I look forward to reading this series and seeing what situations Elinor ends of getting herself into.

This is book two in the series. It’s just as good as the first one. After getting an invitation to the Winter Revel, thanks to the Duke de Archambeau, Elinor believes that she will enjoy a nice vacation eating delicious food. Unfortunately when there is an attempt on the King’s life, Elinor and the Duke join for es once again. With finding the attacker, helping a young society lady and needing to speak to the husband of a widower, Elinor has her hands full.
This story was filled with intrigue and suspense. The addition of new characters kept it interesting. Some crazy antics by ghosts and animals made for some funny highlights. This was another enjoyable story in this series.

Having been introduced to the medium Elinor Chalamet in the previous book in this series, I was looking forward to this second instalment and was not disappointed. Yet again I was transported back in time and immersed in another of Elinor’s mysteries, which kept me hooked. I felt like I was alongside Elinor as her holiday in Vouvant is ruined by a poisoner targeting a royal guest, leading to Elinor investigating. When an attempt on the kings life implicates Elinor’s favourite chef, she is keen to solve the case and prove him innocent. However, before she can return to the fun of the Winter Revels, she also saves a young society lady, and solves the problem of a widower who grieves too much, alongside using her skills, honed at the Morpheus Society, to help the police, whilst still hunting her father’s killer. Elinor is also annoyed by her love interest, the duke as he thinks he can solve the case of the poisoner before she can. This is an enjoyable and entertaining novella in this gaslamp fantasy, ghost mystery series, and I love that it has a strong female character in Elinor. She’s a likeable and relatable young women and her slow burn romance with the duke, offers an intriguing aside to her case solving. I look forward to book three, and continuing Elinor’s adventures.

In this book Medium Elinor Chalamet finds herself trying to thwart an assassination. Murder, mystery and mayhem seem to find Madam Chalamet where ever she goes. There is no time off for this super sleuth even on holiday. Oh, Elinor is at it again. Though this time, she is on vacation and enjoying the culinary treats, she somehow finds herself mixed in trouble again. I love this series because Elinor can take care of herself but the good Duc d’Archambeau is there to assist her. Elinor’s ghost talking skills are called into use when someone is attacked again. I loved the story in this book of the series. The writing flows so well. The characters are well=written and just fit into the story. Elinor is so strong that it’s great to watch a strong female protagonist in a story during a time period where that is not common. I also find that her relationship developing with Duc d’Archambeau is quite entertaining. This is a very good read and another wonderful book in The Ghost Talker Series. You should definitely get out there and read it.

In the southern town of Vouvant, Elinor’s goal was to eat rich food and celebrate if her favorite chef won the Winter Revels.
Between saving a young society lady and solving the problem of a widower who grieves too much, Ghost Talker Elinor Chalamet has her hands full.
Meanwhile, an assassin wants to seize the crown by murdering the king. Even more irritating is that Tristan Fontaine, duke de Archambeau, is trying to solve the crime before she can.
The first of a six part gaslamp fantasy ghost mystery series featuring a strong female character in a slow burn romance.
Spinning tales of subtle magic with unexpected twists, she packages satisfying stories that reads like no others. Byrd writes the book you need, not the one you expected.
Described by one reviewer as a “literary glass of bourbon after a long day,” and another: “When I get a Byrd story, I know I’m in good hands.”
Whether it is a Doppelgänger who was once a medieval knight now working in college administration, or an updated Red Riding Hood escaping a post-WWI wolf pack, her characters all feel real.
That Celtic goddess at the pet store? She’s someone you know. A medieval queen fleeing an abusive marriage? You experience her pain and triumph.
With a B.A. in journalism, she worked as a newspaper reporter, covering news, schools, and lifestyle for both weeklies and dailies. She was the first journalist to serve as director of The Forest Heritage Center in Beavers Bend State Park, Oklahoma.
Her hobbies include reading, nature hikes, and traveling when she has the money. She seldom has the money. Married to a man who reads all her books but with two adult children who never read them. Byrd has cats, which makes her a legit author.

Madame Chalamet is back in her second book! I love the first book and this book is a wonderful follow up. The fact that Chalamet is a woman all her own in this era is what I love most.
Chalamet is ready for something, anything, it’s been too long since a horrible death has happened. She gets invited to the Winter Revels where it has everything to do with food. Naturally, there’s mystery afoot.
Although Chalamet is perfectly being happy with who she is and what she represents, she finds herself steeling glimpses and thinking about duke de Archambeau.

Elinor, or would you say Madame Chalamet, is a trained medium. She works with the police but also solves mysteries. In this story, she searches for her father’s killer, and also has some other mysteries to solve. We also have a love interest in the making as someone who keeps getting in her way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and ready to read the next book!
I loved this ghost story. It kept your attention throughout the whole book. I loved the sub plot about Mysir de Duke Archambeau’s dead wife, I cannot wait to read more of their story in book two. Madam Elinor Chalamet is a well-known ghost talker (medium), she frequently assists on criminal investigations to figure out who someone may be, how they died, and who killed them. The book is set in a country named Sarnesse, in a time period where a lady was allowed education but still upheld to a certain standard. The case that Madam Chalamet is brought in to assist with, is the death of the Giles Monet, and has the crowns attention. Because it is such a high-profile case, Madam Chalamet is brought to Mysir de Duke’s house to be on house arrest and restricted from speaking to anyone about the case. I love the connection between Madam Chalamet and Mysir de Archambeau, while it is not an immediate attraction, I love the way they interact with each other, both strong personalities battling out to win dominance. The ending was amazing, coming to a close of the criminal investigation, but leaving you still with some questions about all of the characters, more specially, if Madam Chalamet will investigate the Duke’s wife’s death.

With a Spunky & sassy heroine this book is a great start to a new paranormal mystery fairy tale set of with the added bonuses of romance and humor. Dealing with ghosts and other paranormal events, Elinor is snarky and audacious. This is a well Developed book with a complex storyline and wonderfully fleshed out characters. I look forward to the next in this adventurous series!
This book incredibly was something that I didn’t expect in a lot of fantasy book. Madame Chalamet is a ghost talker and communicate with well ghosts. And when the duke takes interest in a body, Madame Chalamet is the one he called. While reading this I felt like I was looking thou and watching from Madame Chalamet own eyes. I felt like I was actually living and breathing the air these characters were in. This part alternate history, suspense, supernatural, fantasy, and mystery, all rolled int o one really kept me wanting to read more. Madame Chalamet is an incredible character not only talking to ghosts but is an intelligent, witty, unapologetic, savvy, strong willed women, that I related to so much in this story. Was an incredible read that I will for sure be reading more of.
