Make Me Yours by Charity Ferrell

Stella Mendes, a TV star whose long running series came to an end so she has decided to try her hand at movies. Being brought up in the business she never got to enjoy her childhood as her Mom had her in the spotlight from an early age. She has given up on love because a long term relationship she had ended very badly. She has an awesome best friend that is also her assistant named Willow. Her longtime bodyguard, Dallas was forced to resign so that he could go home and be with his wife and daughter. He brings in his brother Hudson to temporarily take his place until they can hire someone else.

Hudson Barnes, a Marine that just returned home after a 9 month deployment on his 2nd tour overseas. He’s from a small town in Iowa where everybody knows everybody and he loves it. Its home, and he is very close to his parents, his sister and his brother. Family is everything to him. The last thing he wants to do is fly off to LA to “follow around some fancy-ass, high maintenance chick”. His brother guilts him into taking the job temporarily and he agrees to 2 months. Hudson has also given up on love since he returned home to find his fiance is now planning a wedding with his now ex best friend.

The sparks are immediate when Stella and Hudson first meet. The connection is undeniable the more time they spend together. It doesn’t take long for Hudson to realize that he may have rushed to judgement when it comes to Stella. Both Hudson and Stella are so close to rethinking the giving up on love as their attraction to each other just gets stronger. Her contract holds some pretty strong stipulations that don’t make a lot of sense to Hudson and is an issue that he might not be able to get past. When Hudson receives a phone call and has to rush home because of a family emergency Stella joins him. Although they aren’t aware of it, so does the paparazzi. What happens next broke my heart and at the same time made me so angry I was yelling at my kindle. Can these two that have serious trust issues get past everything that lies ahead for them, and even if they do can these two people who are complete opposites make it work?

I double loved this book. I love this author and although this was my first book by her, it will absolutely not be my last. I am just hoping that there is another book coming in this series. I want more Stella, Hudson, Willow and the Barnes family. 5 Stars aren’t enough for this book 🙂

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another great story by Charity Ferrell. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!! Make Me Yours which is know known as Just Her Bodyguard,  is about movie and TV actress, Stella Mendes and Hudson Barnes, who is a marine, recently home from another deployment.
Stella is a child actress all grown up and trying to make a break into the movie business. She learns who she can trust and who she would like to throat punch. Oh wait maybe that publicist is someone I want to throat punch! Either way Stella learns a few things about the business. One thing is for sure, Stella likes to feel safe and protected. Therefore she has had a bodyguard, Dallas. But Dallas is married and with a sick wife. When Dallas needs a family favor it’s Hudson to the rescue, not that Dallas actually gave him a choice but that’s what families do for each other.
Being a bodyguard to a “princess” is the last thing Hudson wants to do. But with his current relationship hitting the rocks and Dallas’ wife’s health condition, Hudson needs some time away. What he doesn’t expect is Stella actually being someone he could talk to, even become friends , or is it possible, to even love?
Being in Hollywood causes many different feelings and situations to arise. However, not everything is as it seems. Can these two have the kind of love everyone dreams of? Where distance doesn’t matter, jobs don’t matter. Just being together, working things out as they come your way.

“I’ve come to realize that you can make a home anywhere when you’re with the one you love.”

This story was fun to read, except for the heart wrenching parts! I recommend this story and look forward to what’s next with Ferrell!

Bad for You by Charity Ferrell – Review by Shannon Fowler

Bad For YouBad For You by Charity Ferrell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bad for You is a story about Nautica and her love for her brother’s best friend, Bracken. Somewhere along the way Bracken and Nautica were told that they must not have feelings for each other much less hook up. Of course, bratty little sisters and grown men don’t always follow the rules and the chemistry between these two is super hot. Even after they try to get each other out of their systems, there is more chemistry and hotness to come!
There are several stories inside Bracken and Nautica’s story which makes this book well worth the read. Nautica’s best friend, Macy is the kind of friend we all need, caring, funny and loyal. She’s looking for her own true love. Bracken’s parents have issues, which could be another story altogether. Nautica’s father passed away years ago causing Nautica’s brother, Simon, to become very protective of Nautica And their mother.
When tragedy strikes the whole family, who will stand strong and who crumbles under the devastating pressure? Will love be enough? Can time heal all wounds?
I loved these characters. I loved the way Ferrell makes these characters feel so real, drawing the reader right into their world. There is heart break, love and just the right amount of intrigue giving this story a little of everything. Only one thing I didn’t like was Nautica’s reaction to Bracken after all the bad things happen…ugh I don’t want to give anything away so just read this story and see if you agree, personally I think I would have reacted differently. I highly recommend this story and hope there are more stories to come!

Bad For You by Charity Ferrell – Review by Jenni Bishop

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Simon, Nautica’s brother has warned everyone and anyone that his little sister is off limits. He is worried about her going to college whilst he is in the army but Bracken has assured his best friend that he will look out for her.

Nautica is out for night on the town with her best friend, Macy, but yet again her best friend has left her high and dry. Contemplating her next move, she hears the familiar voice that has a hold on her, the one she has had a crush on, a crush she has had for as long as she can remember, her brothers best friend Bracken Casey. After Bracken catches her at the bar he is talked into letting her hanging out with him and his friends to keep an eye on her. After having nowhere to spend the night she spends the night at Brackens in his bed.

Simon, Nautica and Bracken all head home for the holidays and Simon finds out about Nautica’s secret. Simon, being unable to handle what he has learned he takes off and ends up in an accident and on the critical list. Bracken unable to deal with all that has happened that night takes off and is not see or heard from for five years. Now he is back and wants to take back what is his.

Will friendships and broken hearts be mended? This book is a good read and well written. If you like young love, forbidden love, betrayals and finding yourself, then this book is for you.
