This book was a good read. The characters and storyline was amazing. There were times I found myself upset while reading it due to events happening. But I still enjoyed it. The author knows how to make you go on an emotional rollercoaster. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series goes.

This book was such a good read. The author does an amazing job with the characters. Their story is gripping. You feel every emotion they go through. There were parts of the story that had me laughing such as the connection between the characters and especially Bella’s attitude. I love that she is fiesty and stands her ground even against Levi who could be a scary and imposing man. But Bella sees through the anger he shows to the hurt man that lies beneath. Their connection is brilliantly written. Its very push and pull and they push each others buttons something rotten but you can feel their attraction underneath it all which makes the comments and disagreements seem almost like a type of play. Both of them testing the other boundaries.
Levi and his brothers are left looking after their young sister after the death of their parents. Levi is a former navy seal and when he is called upon to help a young woman who is trying to hide he has no problem stepping in. After all it’s just another mission and they need a nanny for their sister so what could go wrong.
Bella has had a bad past that she is running from but thought it all she still remains strong and prepared to stand up for herself even against someone like Levi.
What neither of them expect is the emotions that they start to feel for one another and as much as both of them try to fight it they can’t run from it forever.
Can Bella unlock the secrets of Levi’s past and anger? Can Levi keep Bella safe from her past? Will the be able to save each other?

Levi: A clean and wholesome wounded hero cowboy romance is book one in Edith MacKenzie’s The Brothers of Creekside Ranch series. This was my first book by this author and overall, the book was good. I did find the beginning a little slow and the ending a little rushed. I also would have liked to see any type of character development from Levi. He was so stoic and serious (as many military men can be) and then randomly at the end showed emotion. It simply felt as though he could have grown a little more throughout the book. As the title stated, it is a very clean read, it almost felt like there was no relationship brewing between the pair. However, Bella seemed to sweet talk her way into Levi’s stubborn heart. After the emotional turmoil Bella went through in her last relationship, Levi and his brothers making her feel safe was absolutely everything. I definitely would like to read about the brothers and their lives in the future.

She doesn’t like anything about him. Well, maybe a few things…
English aristocrat Bella Orstwell thought helping get her abusive Russian mafia boyfriend arrested would be the end her troubles. It isn’t. Because even though she’s been whisked off to parts unknown to hide out until the trial, she now has to pretend to be the housekeeper to the Delaney Brothers and nanny to their kid sister. And then there’s Levi, one gorgeous bully of a cowboy tasked with protecting her. He might be in charge of her safety, but if he thinks she’s going to follow his every order without question, he’s in for a rude awakening…
Levi Delaney does not need a babysitting gig. Helping raise his orphaned kid sister and running the ranch with his brothers keeps him plenty busy. But an ex-Navy SEAL never turns down a call from an old friend—which is how he found himself in charge of keeping the annoyingly lovely Bella safe. Now, if only he could find a way to keep her quiet that didn’t involve kissing her—or falling for her…
Bella is shaping up to be a real pain in Levi’s behind, not the least the way his brothers keep falling over themselves when she’s around. But he gave his word that he’d keep her safe and that’s exactly what he plans to do. One small problem, the more she fights him, the more he finds her getting under his skin.
After the trauma of Dmitri, Bella just wants to survive, but is that enough? There’s something about her wounded hero that makes her want to heal him. Not that he wants to let anyone in close enough to do that. But he hasn’t dealt with her before.
Can these polar opposites overcome the demons of their pasts and find common ground on the road to happily ever after? Only if he can keep her alive that long…
Edith MacKenzie or Eddie Mac to her friends is an Australian author of sweet and wholesome contemporary cowboy romance. They say in literary circles to write what you know and Eddie has certainly taken that to heart. Before embarking on a writing career she trained horses professionally and brings that wealth of knowledge to her writing.
Now a mum to a boy and girl, as well as wife, she delights with her tales of strong cowgirls and their adventures in finding love. When not weaving the love stories of her characters, she enjoys hanging out with her family and animals, as well as reading, fishing and camping

This was a really good read. I enjoyed it a lot. The story follows Chloe as she reluctantly goes back to Faerie to save her sister from mortals who are set on taking over the courts of Faerie. Chloe so far has been content with living a normal life in the mortal realm, but puts her personal feelings aside to save her sister. I really appreciated Chloe’s fierce intelligence and drive even in the midst of danger. Also I’m such a sucker for hard headed romance. You know the kind where the main characters get on each other’s nerves, and yet they can’t stay away from one another. Each swears the other one is the most stubborn person they have ever met and yet when their eyes meet they both have to fight not to blush. Yup that’s kind of the vibe this romance gives. And I loved evert bit of it. I can’t wait to see what comes after this. There was an underlying message that I hope every woman who reads this pays attention to. I won’t spoil it, read it yourself! But all in all if your a fan of Sarah J Maas or Jennifer L. Armentrout then you will like this a lot. Flame and Crystal Thorns is the first book in this series. It’s a spin off of The Fae of Bitter Thorn series by Kay L. Moody. Although it has a few minor spoilers from The Fae of Bitter Thorn, it can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone series. It honestly is motivating me to check out the other series.

Edith Mackenzie is a new author for me and boy oh boy! An amazing writer that gave us such a wholesome book! I cried, I laughed, I felt joy and sorrow. A story that has you hoping for the end you wish for! This book was so well written. I can’t say whether it is a part of a series or not but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything so you can dive right in! Get your tissues, your blanket and cozy up because this is the perfect novel to lose yourself in for a while! She has a writing style and ability to make you feel like a fly on the wall feeling the heavy emotions that we are reading about and it was a rollercoaster I didn’t want to get off. Well done!
Grief and healing This is a slow burn clean romance that deals with tragedy and the fall out that follows. The author handles it realistically and with sensitivity. This book has all the feels. Colt and Evelyn are a mature couple and are very confident within themselves. I enjoyed this book, reading way past my bedtime. It draws you in and doesn’t let go. A worthy read.
This book took me on such an emotional roller coaster ride. Colt has been through more tragedy in his life so far than anyone should ever have to face. Evelyn is someone that he’s been friends with since they were kids and tragedy brings them together once again. There are so many twists and turns in this book. I teared up so many times at the unfairness of it all but the ending was so sweet that it made it worth all of the emotions. This is a book you definitely won’t want to miss but make sure you have a box of tissues nearby.

You’ve heard it said that money can’t buy (fill-in-the-blank). Well, in the case of Colt, that’s definitely true. He’s loaded with money…has more than he knows what to do with, but it won’t stop the tragedies from occurring in his life.
I don’t feel like I can give anymore details about this book other than the description provided because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. However, this is your warning: You’ll need a box of tissues handy. This story is riveting and tragic, yet full of so much love!!
I don’t have a super high opinion of Colt. He’s very selfish and greedy. I like Evelyn but there’s something about her that I can’t wrap my head around. Not sure what it is but she’s a very likeable person. I’m curious to know more about her background though.
This is another new-to-me author that I will reading again! I do recommend this book! It’s a fairly clean, wholesome romance story.
All I can saw about this book is wow. Personally I have never read this author before but after reading this one I am definitely a fan. While this book was amazing, I should warn you to have a box of tissues handy, I think I might have cried a river when I read this book. Colt will not only steal your breath away when he’s introduced but he will also steal your heart. Full of pain, grief, love, and so much more I just simply couldn’t put it down.
Colt has had a lot of heartbreak in his life. He has always been the one to pick up the pieces but can he get himself together enough to pick up those pieces this time? Time is supposed to heal the heart but Colt is not too sure that will happen and doesn’t want to be in that space. Evelyn is a long-time friend who has gone through a lot of the same heartbreak with Colt but where will this take them in the end? Edith MacKenzie is a new author to me but wow does she have a way to make you feel you are right there with the characters and makes you feel those same feelings. Book hangover in the works.
Great book that will give you all the feels. It’s full of tragedy, grief and love! I love how the author painted the picture of each character and allow you into their lives. Love will always prevail of angry and disappointment. Overall great love story!
You looking for a book that might rip your heart to shreds but then slowly put it back together? Look no further because this book did just that to me. I didn’t know I was looking for a book to bring me to tears and to my knees with all the feels but that’s just what I got. Every single character in this book is a main character in a way and that was a refreshing thing to see. As mentioned it’s an emotional read but one I truly think everyone should read. You will immediately be drawn in and connect with the characters. You will clearly see all emotions the author injected into this incredible story. It’s well written and will stay in your heart for a while I promise you that. Five big stars and highly recommended.
This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I LOVED this story! I read this book in a matter of a couple hours and I could not get enough! This story revolves around a sibling pair, who suffer tragic losses of their parents from when they were young. After his sister passes, Colt throws everything into his traveling to try and not face the reality of losing his best friend. Through his loss of his sister, he and his sister’s best friend Evelyn form a connection that grows as time goes on. If you love a good romance story that is clean and wholesome, then this is the book for you!

Colt and Indie were raised by their mom after their dad died and they had a beautiful upbringing but at 18 years old Colt and Indie bury their mother and that was the beginning of the end of my box of Kleenex …..
Bennett was Colt’s best friend and together they were inseparable and as they grow up Bennett goes from friend to fiancé and soon to be daddy …. Life is good …till it isn’t …. I actually had to stop reading for a few hours just to gather myself ! We all have those books that make us cry but this was a whole other level !!!
In-between the tears and heartache there had to be some healing and Evelyn gave me some hope not only with her art but for the stirrings she caused in Colt’s heart and then there’s the little ray everyone is holding onto , the promise of new life ,… I was almost to afraid to get excited and rightly so both my world and Colt’s world came to a sudden standstill with 4 words …
Little Hope owned my heart from the very first moment I met her ❣️she’s such a beautiful and blessed princess that has so many people that love her ….
I cried … I ugly cried … a real snot fest ! Despite the fact that my heart was ripped out and shredded this must be one of the most beautiful reads I’ve ever had the privilege of reading ❣️📕
This one of those romances that make you want to have an ugly cry. Colt is raising the baby that his sister left behind. Evelyn crosses paths with him. They have some hard paths to cross and challenges to overcome. I can’t tell you much because you’ll just have to read it. Heartwarming story that touches your heart. It will grab you in right from the start. Intriguing, engaging and just so …..I’m speechless. I’m in love with this story. I can’t wait for the next one. This author has done a fantastic job. Well-written and developed, the story just handles itself. Go ahead and one-click. I recommend it. I would give it more than a 5 if I could.
The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire hit me right in all the emotions. I was not ready for the amount of sadness the beginning of this book would throw at me! There is so much loss in Colt’s life, but he still has friends looking out for him, despite him pushing them away. This is the first book I’ve read by Edith MacKenzie and I was not disappointed. She delivers with great, realistic, lovable, frustrating characters and wonderful world building. The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire takes the reader on a roller coaster of ups and downs and everything in between. But, will have you smiling by the end. I cannot wait to read more by Edith MacKenzie.
This book tore through my heart over and over again. I had to set it down and come back to it because so much happened just in the first few chapters that I was in tears. It’s such a heart wrenching story, but a really good one!! I am glad that I finished it and I honestly can’t wait to read some of the other books this author has written. So to the book…. Colt is a rodeo star billionaire who’s life gets bucked right out of his own saddle. He’s racing around the barrels of trauma thrown his way at every turn, but his money just isn’t enough to fix the problems. What do you do when you have all the money in the world, but the health of others can’t be bought? Colt goes dark. He runs to the rodeo, fast cars, and booze to mask his pain and forget his life. A life in which his sister dies and leaves behind a baby. Evelyn is a life long childhood best friend of Colt’s sister and a traveled artist. She has studied in London and trained in Venice, but when her friend needs her she comes back Texas. She knows that she can help Colt and the baby, but he is so broken that he gives up and runs. He leaves her with the baby with no warning and no discussion. Will she convince him to come back and care for his sister’s baby? Will he drown in his own despair and just throw his money at the problems he doesn’t want to deal with? Will these two come to an understanding for the baby’s sake? This book will have you in tears! These two characters have a lot of issues to work through and money can’t help a single one! So what does a rodeo billionaire do when money can’t buy happiness? Read the book to find out!!
I could not get enough of this book and this amazing author. This was such a beautiful read, it had a lot of heart, a lot of emotion and a lot of tugging on one’s heart strings. Beautiful read.
This book really stayed close to my heart all the way through. I was touched and swept into my own emotions as I read. I enjoyed the character development for sure. There was a lot of growth in these wonderful characters. It really showed you may think you have it all with money, but when it comes to Love, well that type of thing you can not put a price tag on it. The build up of the story between Evelyn and Colt. There were moments I was supportive of Colt and at times wanted to ring his neck for what his actions did and caused to Evelyn. All in all, this book was amazing and gave a lot. Loved it!
I think this book is a wonderful start to a new series, which I shall be looking forward to more coming out. The writing was amazing,. I highly recommend reading this book, it is a must read for sure!
Juliet’s Journey to Love is the first book in the Great Smoky Mountain Getaways series by Elsie Davis. I would classify this as Christian woman’s fiction/Christian romance- with spiritual beliefs, Christian values, drama, challenges, trusting in God’s plan, emotion, love, loss, discovering where you belong, and finding love unexpectedly. Juliet takes the opportunity to lead a faith group on a hike through the Appalachian mountain trail, in the hopes of getting closer to God and finding direction in her life. But when she falls ill days into the journey her companions need to call for a rescue. It’s when her unexpected rescuer turns up that things get interesting, and Juliet finds that maybe God had a plan for her all along. This is a faith filled sweet story that should have ticked a lot of boxes for me- but unfortunately Juliet frustrated and annoyed me- and I found it difficult to connect with her- which in turn, made connecting to the story quite difficult too. Also, it felt rushed in places which also didn’t allow me to ‘settle’ into the story or to ‘lose’ myself in the story like I had hoped to. I think if we could have ‘heard’ from Jake more, it would have given the story more balance and depth.

Juliet and her friends are on a journey together to spend more time outside and grow closer to the Lord. What they didn’t anticipate was Juliet becoming ill and their travel plans being thwarted! When the grizzly man Jake arrives on his 4-wheeler, it’s obvious very quickly to the group that he’s only concerned with nursing Juliet back to health and nothing else.
Jake is the all-around bachelor grizzly bear. He’s a loner in a cabin in the woods. However, he knows what needs to be done to take care of Juliet. However, he’s severely annoyed by these travel companions and their prayer meetings.
Time comes for the group to get back on to their hike once Juliet heals up, but then Jake falls ill. Good thing Juliet is a nurse and knows what to do. Besides, she owes him for treating her while she was ill! She parts from the group and nurses Jake back to health. Then she learns of a job opening at a local clinic. Can she leave her secure job and family to live out her dreams?
This book is the first I’ve read by this author but I’m already looking into other books by this author and in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it!! It included adventure and romance, plus has a medical slant, which I love!

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming and inspirational sweet romance. The novel is set in the Great Smoky Mountains and along the Appalachian Trail, and the authors wonderfully detailed descriptive narrative brings this setting vividly to life, making me feel as though I was actually there alongside Juliet. Juliet is the leader of the Freedom and Faith group, but isn’t sure of God’s plan for her. She jumps at the chance to lead two other women on a journey to hike sections of the Appalachian Trail, hoping that by getting back to nature she will grow closer to God. Unfortunately, Juliet becomes ill whilst days away from their planned exit point, and so her friends call 911. Loner Jake comes to Juliet’s rescue, but she thinks he looks more like a grizzly bear. However, when she’s ready to leave Jake then becomes ill and needs Juliet to help him. Getting to know Jake better she realises that he’s a man with a heart and a past. When there is a opening at the medical clinic in Hollow Creek Juliet applies, with the thought that it will give her time to help Jake get his life back on track. When Jake finds out the truth, his walls start to tumble down and the pair try to put the past and their own issues aside in order to work out their differences. I liked the main characters, Juliet and Jake and I enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout the story. The storyline flowed well, and this was an enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend.

Yall I was not prepared for this book. I cried so many times while reading. Colt life has been very difficult, he has lost so many people in his life. Through all that grief he pushed everyone away that was there for him. The story is about colt figuring out how to grieve, let people in, and love. He learns that money can’t fix everything. I think this book will never get the credit it deserves when talking about grief and how it affect people. It’s a tough thing to read and experience. I will absolutely be diving into other work from this author.
This is a sweet and enjoyable romance with some truly lovely characters right at the heart of it. I really enjoyed the story of Juliet and Jake. I loved how their connection developed and how close they became. It whole book had a lovely feel about it. I was taken in by the romance and with the way the author portrayed it all. The story flowed really well and was easy to read. This is a great story that I enjoyed from start to finish.

Juliet’s escape to the Great Smokey Mountains isn’t at all what she planned. She isn’t sure about her plans for her life, so she and two other women go on a hike of the Appalachian Trail. She leads her group through the trail so that they may get closer to nature and grow closer to God, but Juliet becomes ill a few days before the hike is due to end. Her friends must call for help and when said help arrives they aren’t sure what to make of their grizzly bear rescuer Jake. Jake doesn’t want them around. He doesn’t want anyone around. He helps Juliet but then in turn he falls ill. Not at all what was planned in deed! As a nurse, now it’s Juliet’s turn to help grizzly Jake. She is determined to help Jake weather he wants her to or not. She accepts a part time job to be closer to him and pushes him in ways that makes him want to run. When the truth comes out about some of her methods things get a bit murky. Can they get past their pasts and issues? Can they get over some fundamental beliefs and come to an understanding? Juliet has a life back home that waits for her, as she wades through waves of uncertainty and trust issues. Will she come to realize God’s purpose for her life or will her whole trip be a waste of time? Who knew that getting sick would upend her and Jake’s lives completely? Such a great book. Not my typical read, but glad I took a chance on it. Read to find out more about these two. I personally can’t wait to read the others in the set!

This was such a heartbreaking romance. I felt it was a hard read at times but just because of all the unfairness and loss that Colt had to go through and endure before getting his happy ever after. The author deals with things such as family loss, accidents and cancer in a way that allows the reader a glimpse of the pain that people go through. Colts reaction to his neice is strong and unusual and some people may think extremely wrong but it was a very honest portrayal of how grief can effect people. This is a story of hope and keeping the faith of finding love even when life seems to be against you at every turn. Can Colt overcome his pain and grief and be with Evelyn or will his grief push her away losing his love and his only family?
This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. This is a well written romance story about Colt and Evelyn and their fight for love. This is a story that will show you that money can’t buy you everything especially when it comes to matters of the heart. I enjoyed the characters and how connectable they were. They pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are strong, supportive characters that truly made the story for me. I enjoyed their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. A fast paced story that is easy and entertaining to read. A great story that filled my afternoon. I highly recommend this book.
This book is a clean romance and can be very inspirational.
Take a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Juliet isn’t sure what God’s plan for her life is, but the opportunity to head the Freedom and Faith small group gives her a sense of purpose and belonging. The group intends to trek parts of the Appalachian Trail in order to become closer to God through a back-to-nature approach. Juliet accompanies two other ladies on a trip, determined to succeed, but when she becomes unwell and they’re days away from their destination, her companions must dial 911. She’s compelled to accept aid from a man who looks more like a grizzly bear than a savior. Jake, the loner, wants them to go.
Except that just as Juliet and her friends are about to leave, Jake succumbs to the sickness, and Juliet must once again save the day. She meets a man with a heart and a history in the process. Her inability to lead the group inspires her to redouble her attempts to be needed, and she’s eager to assist Jake in more ways than one. When she hears about an opening at the medical clinic in Hollow Creek, she applies, knowing it will offer her a reason to stay in town and allow her to assist Jake with his life back. Her tactics aren’t always spotless, but she has the correct intentions. The walls come crumbling down when Jake discovers the truth. Can they sort out their differences by mucking through the past and their own issues?
I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read more from this series.
