Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen Book 3) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Tia Martel

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Catrina Sinclair is a no nonsense lawyer and her firm has one major rule: not to sleep with your clients.

Easy enough. Until her one night fling walks into her office Monday morning. Now he’s her client and she’s got to keep her hands to herself. If only he’d do the same.

Nathan Logan has everything: power, success and fame. But he’s lacking someone in his life he can share it with who won’t turn around and sell him out.

When he meets Catrina all bets are off for the night, then she’s gone and he’s left wanting more, so when he walks into the meeting with his new lawyer and it’s her? He’s determined not to let her go even if it means losing everything he’s worked so hard to get.

I enjoyed this book in the King of Screens series almost as much as I enjoyed Married Blind (which I devoured in a day)! It’s got a ton of bantering and a whole lot of what ifs involved.

Enjoyable and definitely a hilarious read, I’m excited to read the rest of the Kings of Screens titles and sink my hands into more by this author.

If you’re a fan of one night turning into so much more, or forbidden attraction, or sexy men, then you’ll likely love this book too. These men are all tall, handsome, and YUM!

Acting Counsel is another fun story and the third book in the Kings of Screen series by Morgana Bevan. It is a close proximity romance tale in the heart of all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. It can be read as a standalone but as I always say start at the beginning you never know what you may be missing. This light-hearted contemporary romance is a quick read.
I enjoyed the banter and the push of the relationship between Catrina and Nathan. I love that the story is told in dual POV. It shows you who the characters truly are. It exposes them warts and all.
She’s not putting her heart on the line for a client and not one that has a reputation.
He wants something real and is willing to let it all go.
If you want to know what happens then make sure you read it yourself.
With friendships and sassiness, chemistry and steam, angst and drama it makes for a nice escape for a few hours.
I look forward to reading more in the series.

I have read other books by this author so I figured it would be a good book and it exceeded all my expectations. This book can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading all the books in this series because they are great reads. I loved following the story of Hank and Ella Mae, there was so much emotion in this story. I found myself invested in these two characters’ lives and the outcome of the story. I was pulled into this story and couldn’t put it down until I found out what was going to happen between them and what was going to happen with Hank and Ella Mae’s careers. You don’t want to miss out on this wonderful story, I’m not going to give anything away so it’s my recommendation that you read it. I will be reading more books by this author.

I’m a huge fan of the forbidden. This book has just that. This is part of a series, I read it just fine as a stand-alone but I am excited to read the others. The characters got me hooked right from the start. I found myself wishing I had more time in a day to read so I wouldn’t have to stop. It’s a well written storyline with characters you can connect with and root for. This is a newer author to me but I definitely can’t wait to read more. Four big stars and highly recommended to everyone.

Acting counsel is a spin off of the Married Blind book. It isn’t the same storyline but a more of a quiet lovers story. I enjoyed it. A modern playboy falling for the lawyer. It is a sweet tale with some added spicy scenes to help fuel your imagination. Morgana Bevan showing us that she can write multiple stories with different plots.

I enjoyed reading this book. I thought Carina and Nathan were good together and the plot fit the genre well. I always love the stories where the characters meet under “interesting” circumstances before they meet under more a professional one. The characters were relatable and the story flowed nicely. I would recommend this book and the author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nathan and Catrina met one night in a bar, had one incredible night together, and thought that would be the end of it…until they meet again, in Catrina’s office at her law firm. Nathan is working on a deal to purchase a movie studio, and needs a competent lawyer, something he sadly didn’t have in his previous lawyer. Catrina needs this deal to go through, quickly, so that she can make partner at her law firm and move up in her career. What neither had bargained for was the attraction and connection they feel. Catrina insists that they keep things platonic until they get the deal inked and Nathan is no longer her client, both to help Nathan’s image and to abide by her firms strict no dating clients rules. When pictures of the two of them kissing in her office surface, everything comes undone, and Catrina ends up getting fired, and Nathan’s deal falls through. With a guaranteed happily ever after, this book is a great addition to this series. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you meet Nathan, Catrina and their friends, you likely won’t want to leave their world, I know I don’t.

This is the third book in this series which I enjoyed reading. This is a standalone story but I would highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as well. They are just as great reading as this one. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story where romance is forbidden but the attraction and chemistry is still there. What will fate have in store for these characters? I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world. They kept the story engaging and fast paced. They are relatable, strong characters that I enjoyed watching growth throughout the story. Their chemistry and attraction is great which made the story easy to read. This is a great story that I highly recommend. One you don’t want to miss. An entertaining story that keeps you coming back for more.

Hank Bennett is lost in a world of unknowns now. With his band breaking up and him coming back home has his dreams been lost forever or can he make it on his own, but one night he thought he was going to the concert of his hero, and it ended up changing his life’s path forever.

Ella Mae was working the merch table and was trying to just get through the night when a rather drunk, cute cowboy came crashing into her life. Although she knew what could happen if he knew her real identity, but she could not resist Hank’s charms, understanding his story and feeling for him she invited him on the last few tour dates to experience the true life of a Country Music star.

Along the way the truth is laid out and Hank starts to have feeling for Ella but can tour life and a needy brother get in the way of true love in the end.

I am so in love with Hank, and I am glad you choose his story next; he has always seemed a bit lost in the previous books not quite sure whether the farm or music is the way to go but this book brings it all forward and embraces what family is all about. The interactions between Hank and Ella were beautiful to read and the chemistry was off the page.

There is some pretty heavy feelings in this story and the way the brothers struggles were described where a great insight into something I have not dealt with but could understand Ella’s reactions and emotions. I have to say I want to be a part of The Bennetts, they have so much love and respect for each other that you feel like you are a part of the family and want to hug Roy as he seems like a good hugger lol.

I can’t wait for the next book and trust Becky to throw a huge bomb in the middle of The Bennetts and can’t wait to read it. Thank KG Fletcher for creating a world of pure love and respect.

Holy Smokes! This author did it again! Another story that brings all the emotions and gave me chills! I am talking a tears streaming, snot flowing kind of read and I don’t cry while reading. This storyline is ..man just amazing! I loved it from the beginning all the way to the end. She really give her all to these characters and makes them pop out of the pages, become three dimensional and enact the story right in front of the reader. I have so many highlights and favorite passages

While I like Ella Mae…I loved Hank. He is a character I didn’t give much thought to in previous stories. He wasn’t too exciting and kinda did his own thing. In here I got a look into his thoughts and ideas. He has a lot going on. I LOVED when he met his idol!! How he went fan crazy and googly eyed with his big goofy grin plus the way he acted when he went to that infamous cafe in Nashville…same just in awe! His excitement was palpable! I can’t even imagine!

I really went through ALL the feels with this story. Even had chills..it is soo good! I love this one so much! I have so many passages highlighted in here! One of my favorite that I think encompasses the theme of this story.

“Family they are like a reflection of the WORST and the BEST of you”

I look forward to the next in the series….please don’t make me cry again 🙂

⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐ Book Review

Breathless Love is the third novel in the Bennetts of Langston Falls Series. Although part of a series, this installment can easily be read as a standalone. This novel tells the story of Hank Bennett, Ella Mae Miller, and Travis Miller. Breathless love will have you laughing, cursing under your breath at certain characters and their stupid actions, and crying all in the matter of one chapter. Each character has a heart of gold in their own individualized way making all of the characters lovable and relatable. I’m not much of a country music fan but this novel had my heart strumming to the beat of a guitar! It’s been awhile since I have read a book that gave me a good “ugly cry” but this one did it for me. I highly recommend this small town, friends to lovers romance.

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 3) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts, #3)Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Personally I think it best to read the first two books to get some background of the people around them and the world they inhabit.

I wasn’t expecting this to be so heartfelt and affect me emotionally in the way that it did, and despite the book hangover I now have, I love how emotionally invested I was in the couple.

Angelo and Luciana’s story is a slow burn but it’s the sweetest and so worth all the tension and waiting. I love this couple so much.

The characters are lovable and feel real. As usual, I want so much more from these characters and this series.

I read this book without reading the first two in the series. I feel like this book can be read alone, but readers would probably benefit from reading the first two books. I felt the writing was good, especially the dialogue and communication between characters.
Cecily Taylor Damone wants to be with her boyfriend, Andrew, and also have a successful acting career. Throughout their relationship, jealously threatens to keep Cecily and Andrew apart. I dislike how jealous the two characters are, but this is a young adult romance and I feel the characters are portrayed well for being young adults. I enjoyed this read even though I am much older than young adults. I look forward to seeing what is in store for Cecily in the next book.

Hank Bennett is wallowing in his sorrows after cutting his tracks only to have his band implode and breakup. While Hank’s wanting his shot, he does not expect to have Ella Mae in his life. Ella Mae is a songwriter and sister to country idol Travis Miller. Ella Mae sees something in Hank and invites him to tour with her and her brother. Hank agrees and falls hard for Ella Mae, but life on tour is not all glamourous and Hank begins to see the pitfall of having everything you ever wanted. Ella Mae and Hank are building something special but can it withstand the storm swirling around them?

I think this is the best in the series so far. I liked the ease in which Hank and Ella Mae fall into. I thought this story had a couple of twists I did not see coming which only enhanced the story for me.

Slow-burn to healing
This is the third and last book in the Wounded Hearts series and it was a real treat. This author knows how to tie everything together in a nice emotional bow. Angelo is the son of Nicco and Destiny (book 1) and Lucia is the daughter of Enzo and Candi (book 2). These two are best friends from the start and it was wonderful to watch their relationship grow throughout the book as they face the highs and lows. Love this whole series. Highly recommend.

Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book in the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. I have to be honest here, this book was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me knowing that this was the last book in the series, but also needing more of Ms. Cromack’s slow-burn, angsty, and emotional deliciousness that I have become addicted to.
Before diving into this story, I highly suggest reading the previous two books before starting on this one, as not only are they fantastic books in their own right, but I discovered that there is a lovely connection between the first two books and this third instalment.
As expected, this is such a wonderfully angsty and emotional read that tugged on my heartstrings in a major way. Ms. Cromack simmers her plot so beautifully, cooking up a slow burning, but sexy read. She doesn’t shy away from some tougher topics, which adds to the emotional punch of her story.
Angelo and Lucia have been the best of friends since childhood so there is already love and connection between them, but they’d never crossed the ‘friendship’ line. But fate might just have a different plan in mind- throwing these two out of their comfort zone. What happens made for an entirely memorable read. Finding out that Angelo is Nicco and Destiny’s son (from Someone Exactly Like Me- Book #1) and Lucia is Candi and Enzo’s daughter (from Kiss Away Your Pain Book #2) was like getting extra icing on the cake for me.
I was so excited to see that Ms. Cromack has a new series in the works- and I am itching to get my hands on her Broken Billionaire series! Bring on Book One- I can’t wait!!!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debbie Cromack!

This was a great 5 star read. I really like this genre and wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed these characters and their story. Travis wants to be famous for his music, while at a concert he meets a woman (Ella) who will change his life. Ella’s brother is a famous musician and writes her own music as well. When Travis is invited to tour with Ella and her brother things change for Travis. I was pulled right in from the author’s writing. My emotions were all over the place. Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book and another fantastic read in this wonderful Wounded Hearts series. Make sure to read the books in order. I mean you don’t have to, but I recommend it. This beautiful best friends to lovers contemporary romance tale will have you believing in the song of true love. I have loved all the books, but this is my favourite so far.
Debbie’s beautiful characters are realistic with flaws, are emotionally raw and so easy to fall in love with and to become invested in their story.
This angsty emotional slow burn story has heartache and heartbreak. You may want to have the tissues nearby because you may become teary eyed. BUT don’t worry because there is also humour.
She is trying to move on from a bad decision and needs the one person she didn’t listen to.

Cecily in the City (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Moriah Venable

Cecily in the CityCecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cecily is starting her senior year of high school. With a pop star boyfriend, she has an opportunity to fly to New York to meet with a fashion designer. She started off wanting to be an actor but her career seems to be going in the direction of modeling.

I really enjoyed reading this. I haven’t read the other novels in the series but I wasn’t confused at all. I actually felt more invested because I knew Cecily had come a long way.

Cecily even wonders if Andrew’s world is something she can handle. She is excited to finally be in the same city as him as well as move her career along with the right connections, but she is aware how easy it is to be swept up in the Big City.

In a lot of novels the main characters keep secrets from each other but I like how Cecily and Andrew for the most part did communicate and eventually was able to repair damage that was done. The media and fans can start rumors and it illustrates how her relationship with Andrew suffered because of it. To me, I was able to feel her anxiety and uncertainty. Just all her emotions in general. She was a well written character and the plot just pulls you in.

Cecily also states in the beginning how she no longer feels the need to make herself anxious just to support a friend. When she gets invited to go rock climbing with her friends Allie and Lila, she declines a few times despite her friends trying to change her mind.

‘She stuck out her tongue out and said she’d text me if she survived. Normally, I’d go just to support a friend but I was at a place in my life where I realized I didn’t need to make myself anxious about climbing a big wall just to keep someone else happy. I’d spent so much time doing things other people wanted and now I realized I could save myself both anxiety and energy by listening to what felt right for me. I was slowly learning about boundaries’.

That passage really stayed with me. At 30, I am slowly learning about boundaries and not doing things to make other people happy.

The end of the novel kind of had a cliffhanger which makes me excited to see what happens next.

Oh, this was too sweet of a second-chance romance to miss. Angelo and Lucia grew up together and were childhood friends. There has always been a spark there. There have also always been obstacles to overcome for them both. A well-written story that allows us to follow them as this slow-burn romance develops into so much more. The characters are well-developed and so relatable. The story was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series by this author.
