Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 3) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts, #3)Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is still a newer author for me which I enjoy reading. Their writing style is such that it is written with a lot of heart and soul. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story where the characters pull you into the story and have you coming back for more. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. A story where it will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride at the same time connecting with them. This is a fast paced romance story that has much going on with this couple but the author did a great job of keeping the plot straight and engaging. I enjoyed what the characters added to the story as it made it entertaining to read. This is a great story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book

Genre – Contemporary Romance
Page Count – 222

He’s not my brother, but he protects me like he is. He’s not my boyfriend, but I’ve always wished he was.

Angelo Mancini is my best friend and I’ve been in love with him my entire life, but I’ll never confess that to him.

One alcohol-filled night back in college, I asked him to take my virginity. He refused and I felt rejected and embarrassed.

Years later, I end up getting pregnant by the one guy he warned me to stay away from.

My world crashing in around me, I run to the one person I trust…and need…Angelo.

He invites me to stay with him while I figure out what to do. The more time we spend alone, the more it feels like he no longer sees me as just his best friend.

When he’s on stage, playing his guitar and singing a song he wrote for me, I can’t help but wonder if there could actually be more between us.

And if there is, does it even matter with me carrying another man’s baby? I’d like to believe that love always wins, but I’m in a no-win situation.

After all these years, we may both end up with broken hearts…and a destroyed friendship.

This is Book 3, and the final book, in the Wounded Hearts Series. While it can be read as a standalone, your experience will be better if you read this books 1 and 2 first.

(This book contains steamy scenes, miscarriage, the passing of a grandparent. and some explicit language. Suitable for 18+ only.)

Hi! I’m Debbie Cromack and I write contemporary novels that are romantic, sexy, and emotional with a lot of heart and worth-the-wait steam. I’ve been called the Master of Slow Burn, a title I happily accept.

I write realistic, flawed characters you’d want to get to know in real life. My heroes are virile and also broken. They have huge hearts, respect their women, and have a hidden romantic side. These men don’t just fall in love, they fall and never look back. My heroines are often awkward, feisty, and embody everything the hero never knew he needed.

After spending 25+ years in corporate America, being the CEO of an event decorating company, and then an online business coach, I tried my hand at writing romance novels, publishing my debut novel at the age of 50, and have been writing ever since.

I live in an old farmhouse where I care for a dwarf bunny named Nutmeg, two Nigerian dwarf goats named Patches and Tiny, and lots of chickens. I like my book boyfriends how I like my cocoa: hot and yummy! With my knack for decorating, I tend to go all-out for each holiday. And I’m a total sucker for the Hallmark Channel…especially at Christmas.

Hero Complex (Bluestone Series Book 3) by Isobel Reed – Review by Heather Bass

Hero Complex (Bluestone Series, #3)Hero Complex by Isobel Reed
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple books from this author and she continues to be one of my favorites. I love small town romance and this author knows how to keep you hooked. This is the third book in the amazing bluestone series. You could read this as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to read this book that I started it right away. I could not put it down until the very end. I can’t wait to see who she will write about next.

Ivy would do anything to save her family’s ranch. She formed a plan to act like she was engaged to one of the workers, Ace. Ivy is attracted to Ace but there is something that he is not telling her. She starts to feel something for Ace but she doesn’t know if he feels the same. Will Ivy save her family’s ranch or will it be too late?

Cecily in the City
By: Krysten Lindsey Hager

Cecily is a high schooler who is looking to get her big break. She just got a taste of what it will be like after she acts in a music video. With her favorite artist who just happens to become her boyfriend. She is pushing super hard to move to the city and continue her modeling / acting career. Plus she will be in the same city as her boyfriend. And get out of her small town. She isn’t all that sure she wants all that fame comes with. But she also knows she doesn’t want the opportunities to pass her by.
This book was so good. It perfectly encapsulated the insecurity and the friendship issues that occur in high school. I also really enjoyed Cecily’s family and how they seemed very realistic about their daughter becoming an actress.
This was such an emotional book. I definitely felt all of Cecily’s emotions throughout the book. I also really enjoyed in the beginning where she starts being confused about if she wants the negative parts of having a big break, such as the social media comments. I definitely think this is such a good summer read.

Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 3) by KG Fletcher – Review by Wendy Wary

Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #3)Breathless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m conflicted on this book because the romance parts are way too cheesy for my tastes (think Hallmark channel sweetness), but the story parts that aren’t focused on romance were really well written and definitely had me feeling emotional. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it felt like she decided to take a great story line and force this fairy tale like romance that didn’t come off very realistically. I don’t know if that’s just her style, but it wasn’t really my cup of tea; my mom, who lives for Hallmark movies, probably would love this, though. I enjoyed the characters, but struggled with how fast paced Hank and Ella Mae declared their love for each other and some of the more steamy parts between them were a bit over the top for me.

I absolutely adore this authors work, her books are just a pleasure to read. I am always hooked from beginning to end and Breathless Love was no exception. I loved the characters Hank and Ella Mae, Hank was just the sweetest, I love his old fashioned ways – such a gentleman! Ella Mae was such a strong character I really liked her. Together these two had so much chemistry and I loved reading their story.
I would highly recommend this new book from KG Fletcher, she is an amazingly talented author and I cannot wait to read her next book!

Cecily in the CityCecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I picked this one up not having read other books in the series and now I’m going back to read those, too. The characters are fantastic and even though the story itself is not anything relatable to the average person (hello, pop stars, models, and fashion designers!), the struggles, life choices, and relationships are very much so. And for characters that are younger, they act very mature, which I could see making a positive influence on the young adult readers. Cecily and her friends are fun and supportive as they navigate plans for their future out of high school, and Cecily herself learns some life lessons about the entertainment business and that you can’t trust everyone, even when you’re a nobody just getting your feet wet.

Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #3)Breathless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Breathless Love is the third book in The Bennetts of Langston Falls series. This can be read as a standalone and wholly enjoyed. This book focuses on Hank Bennett, who dreams of a life in country music. Ella Mae is on tour with her brother, Travis, a successful country singer. Will Hank realize his dreams, or will reality crush them?
I was excited to get to read another story about the Bennetts. Hank has been a fun character in previous books and has become the show’s star. I enjoyed Ella Mae and how she shared so much in common with Hank. I was rooting for them to find a happily ever after. This was a lovely story and gave a behind-the-scenes view of musicians on tour. I liked the show of how it is much work and not all fun and glamour. Like the other books in this series, we get reminded that family can have your back through the worst times and that life isn’t always picture-perfect.
I look forward to reading more from this author shortly.

Cecily has two things she really wants to happen right now. She wants to become an actor and be on the same city as her pop star boyfriend. She struggles with keeping their relationship not only long-distance but a secret as well. After landing a gig on a popular daytime soap opera she can’t wait to move to the big city. She has seen all the negative comments left on other people’s social media pages, but hopes that none of that will affect what she is trying to accomplish. After starring in another huge stars music video rumors start to swirl and her relationship with Andrew becomes even more strained than it was. Will she be able to handle all the new found fame and haters that want to see her fail? Or will she have to give up on her career ambitions and start over? I really liked the characters in this series and had fun reading this trilogy. The author does a great job of roping you in and keeping those pages turning as you wait to see what will happen next.

Cecily in the CityCecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book follows the story of Cecily and her tales from the big city. Cecily is a woman looking for her big break and to get out of her small town in Michigan. When an opportunity arises in the same city as her boyfriend, who would turn that down?

With her big break comes a lot of interactions and other tasks that take her out of her comfort zone. When you are trying to break into a highly sought-after career field like modeling and acting you need to do a lot to keep up. With the support of family, she is off to try to make her dreams a reality.

Dex is a musician trying to break into the American music scene. He meets Cecily when she comes to work with him for a video. He is used to people lying and pretending to be something they aren’t. Yet Cecily is honest even with the chance of hurting his feelings, a breath of fresh air.

What happens when you bring a small-town girl to a city that never sleeps? Will it change her for the better or turn her into a completely different person? What happens when a chance to gain experience in the industry leads to rumors?

This is the third book in this series and even though it is not recommended to read as stand-alones, I read this book and fell in love with the characters and the plot. There may be some things I missed from the first two books (which I now plan on going back and reading) but I honestly didn’t miss it. Cecily is doing big things in her life. This story will have you turning the pages to find out how she does it and all that she deals with along the way. LOVED this book and will be reading the first two just to tie it all together.

I read this book without reading the first two in the series. I feel like this book can be read alone, but readers would probably benefit from reading the first two books. I felt the writing was good, especially the dialogue and communication between characters.
Cecily Taylor Damone wants to be with her boyfriend, Andrew, and also have a successful acting career. Throughout their relationship, jealously threatens to keep Cecily and Andrew apart. I dislike how jealous the two characters are, but this is a young adult romance and I feel the characters are portrayed well for being young adults. I enjoyed this read even though I am much older than young adults. I look forward to seeing what is in store for Cecily in the next book.

This book is such a fantastic read, I found it not knowing it was book 3. I still read it and I loved it. It is on the shorter side but it is worth it. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are so well written and the storyline is wonderful. I am not going to lie even though I am way past the YA age I still read books from that category. The writing is different and more relatable. I’m definitely going to go back and read the other books and whatever else the author has written.

I always enjoy this author’s books! This one was a great young adult read following Cecily on her journey to stardom. She has a good head on her shoulders and her parents are so supportive. Even her friends are supportive and want the best for her. I like that you get to read the text conversations that she has with her friends. I really felt where Andrew was coming from with Dex and it definitely made me curious where things were going to lead. Cecily is young though and everything is new for her at this stage in her life. I really love how she holds onto her values and stays honest. I did not realize this was book 3 until after I finished it! I will say that I was able to understand the storyline pretty well and will definitely be going back to read book 1 and 2 in the series!

Cecily’s dreams are coming true as she gets a major role in a daytime soap opera and moves to the big city, which just so happens to be the city her popstar boyfriend lives in! Things are looking up! More opportunities come her way, and she takes them to help gt her name out, not knowing the rumors that would begin speading. She finds herself questioning her dicisions and even wondering if moving to the big city was the right decision for her or if she should have stayed put.
This is the 3rd book in the deligtful Cecily Taylor series, annd I highly suggest takign the time to real all three books! They are fun and interesting, and kept me turning page after page until I found myself finished with the book!!

Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 3) by KG Fletcher – Review by Maisie Dickinson

Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #3)Breathless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Breathless Love is the third instalment of K. G. Fletcher’s The Bennett’s of Langston Falls series, and follows Hank, a wannabe country music star, who meets Ella Mae, songwriter and sister of a country music legend that Hank just so happens to be a huge fan of. Ella Mae invites Hank on tour to show him what a rockstar lifestyle is really like, and they get to know each other deeper than either of them imagined, and they have more in common than either of them would have thought. It’s hugely inspirational with a big focus on opportunities, dreams, and the importance of family, featuring strong characters with consistent personality traits, particularly Hank with his chivalry and Ella Mae with her independence. My favourite character was Ella Mae, as she is strong, independent, understanding, and caring. My least favourite character was Travis because he unfortunately turned out to be toxic, manipulative, and selfish. I recommend this book because it’s inspirational, especially for a reader with big dreams. I do think that the ending stretched on for a bit and it probably wasn’t all needed or at least not at that time, but it was a good ending and I really enjoyed the book. “A dream won’t chase you back, son. It’s up to you to chase this dream with everything you have.”

This is the 3rd book in The Cecily Taylor series. I really recommend reading these books from the beginning as we have followed Cecily from the start of her dreams of being an actress and all the ups and downs that come along with that. This is a sweet YA romance and deal with many topics that they may face in their lives so as jealousy and people looking for ways to bring you down.
Cecily is leaving to follow her dreams. With a job on a TV soap, the man of her dreams and now living in the big city her life can’t get anymore perfect. All her dreams are finally coming true.
The problem is Cecily doesn’t expect the downsides that follow being famous and having a famous boyfriend. When stories and rumours start to circulate can Cecily and Andrew be strong enough to work through them and know the truth?
All Cecily wants is to live a happy life doing a job she loves with the man she loves by her side.
Why are people out to get her? What could they be achieving by hoping she fails?
This is a great story about learning to see through lies and rumours, staying true to yourself and fighting for what you want no matter how many people try to put you down and put obstacles in your way.

Ace, a retired, wounded Marine, steps in to help by pretending to be her fiancé because some of her sexist clients only wanted to deal with a man. Can she resist the pull she feels toward Ace? Can he open up to let her in? These chapters are so beautiful. The Bluestone world is such a great place to visit where you just feel right at home.

I have read book one and book three of the Bluestone series and I have loved them both! I enjoy the town that the stories are set in, the characters, and how the story unfolds. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything with not having read book two, although I will because I love Reeds writing, and the series itself, but even though the characters are in all of the novels they are each focused on a different couples story. They also all have a happy, fulfilling ending, so no need to worry about any cliffhangers. If you into quick, fun, fully fleshed romance stories, with some snark, spice, with real world troubles I can confidently recommend Isobel Reeds Bluestone series!

Every now and again I will come across a book that must be consumed in one day. This book was one of those books.

From the moment they meet Ivy and Ace are attracted but refuse to act on it. They are thrown together for business purposes and it ends up being so much more.

Seeing Ace recover from his both his physical and mental scars was great, when he finally made the leap he went all in. When you have the right person with you anything is possible and that showed in both Ivy and Ace.

Ms. Reed did a great job keeping me interested and wanting more.

I’ve read the first book of this series and was so eager to read more of this series! One thing I worried about is feeling that I’d be lost without having to have read the second book in the series but with only a few things that do come up about the previous series characters, it can be considered a stand alone story. This book involves Ivy, who has inherited her grandparents’ ranch and she is trying to keep the ranch afloat. Ace, a retired Marine, has been living on Ivy’s ranch and helping her however he can. In his efforts in helping her, he attends a meeting Ivy has set up with a businessman to help the struggling ranch but after seeing how Ivy is being treated, the notion of their “engagement” comes into play to help secure a better team for the ranch. As the “engagement” trail reaches out to others, the attraction towards one another begins to affect. See where this all leads as you read to see what happens next! So worth the read!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ivy has done everything she can to save the ranch, but with sexist views on how a woman’s place is to be seen not heard amongst other things she is struggling to prove herself. Every time retired Marine, Ace is around though he finds her in the most embarrassing situations, but when Ace sees how things are going for her he steps in. Pretend engagement has Ace moving into Ivy’s place, the attraction is intense but for Ace he can’t believe anyone would want him in a physical way due to his scars. Ivy though sees past it and just sees Ace for who he is. Can they Ivy and Ace keep everything platonic or is the attraction between them both that has been simmering about to sizzle?

Really good story. I thought Ivy was so entertaining, every scene with her is delightful. I really liked Ace he is full of swagger. Great series, definitely an author to keep an eye out for.
