Doctor Frank Enstein (Doctors of Eastport General) by C.A. King is Ms. King’s second contribution to this medical romance series: the Doctors of Eastport General collection is a collaboration by several different authors, each releasing their own story set in Eastport General Hospital. This is another by Ms. King, a spicy, short, and sexy read that will keep you in its grasp right through to the end.
Let’s face it, I already love Ms. King’s stories, so it was a given that I would be reading this book as soon as it hit my Kindle. And who doesn’t love a sexy Doctor? I know I sure do…
This novella is a contemporary romance- and although it might be smaller in page numbers, it has the feel and delivery of a much larger novel.
We meet plastic surgeon, Doctor Frank Enstein, who has a passion to help disfigured patients by repairing their damaged flesh and helping them regain some of their lost confidence. He wants to use his position to truly make a difference in the world. When he meets Barbara, their chemistry certainly sizzles, but he might get the wrong impression at first…Barbara, on the other hand, just wants to be feel ‘normal’ and pain free and is desperate for help- she meets Doctor Frank and finally has hope. But has she placed her hope in the wrong hands? Can and will he help her? What starts off as pretty casual, turns out to be so much more than either of them ever expected. What happens makes for a sweet and engaging read.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. King has in store for us next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, C.A. King!

This is a cute romance for those that thought it couldn’t happen. Barbara has been dealing with a health issue that has left her feeling less confident and in pain. Along comes Dr. Frank. He has never felt this way about any woman. They have a lovely chemistry. A wonderfully quick read that I wish had just a bit more story to it. I loved it anyway and found it quite romantic.

This book is a super cute quick read. It has everything that you are looking for in a romance book. It has the misjudgments at the first meeting to the growing of feelings throughout the book. Barbara went to Frank to help her with something that has Frank, who is dealing with some of his own issues, look at things a little differently. This leads to them having a horrible first meeting and yet something blossoms out of that meeting and they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
Reading this book you will get caught up in the building of he characters and their backstories. You will figure out what is bothering Frank and why Barbara needs a plastic surgeon. These two things are key to how they develop their love story. If you have a couple hours that you can sit down and get lost in the small town feel of this book, you wont be disappointed. Also, it never hurts to read about a hot doctor.

Echoing Hearts (Book 1 of The Echo Series)Echoing Hearts by C.R. Alam
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This books is book one of the series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed. This was such a good book I couldn’t put it down!

Rae has decided, after seeing what it did to her mom, that love is just not for her. She is independent. She gets to travel and see the world. Why would she need to be tied to a man? Dean doesn’t let anything get him down. To make sure of that, he’s swearing off women. Neither one of them expect that one weekend can change everything. Why would they? They are happy with how their lives are.

These characters are so well developed. Rae and Dean are both stubborn. Rae is patient but also knows not to take any crap. Their chemistry just about jumps off the page. You couldn’t help but root for them! This book has some ups and downs and so much heart and emotion. It’s truly well written and I can’t wait to dive into book two. I definitely recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this one! This was a wonderfully written slow burn romance that was a blast to read. I enjoyed Rae and Deans chemistry. The storyline kept me hooked and I read this in practically one sitting. The secondary characters were fleshed out and had some of the best dialogue in the book. I think the author did a fantastic job making the reader feel the vast amount of emotions the MCs experienced. If you’re a fan of slow burn romance- you’ll love this book! I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series. (:

Doctor Frank Enstein (Doctors of Eastport General) by C.A. King
Genre – Contemporary Romance

Doctor Frank Enstein spent years becoming a sought-after cosmetic surgeon and not for the same reason as others in his field. For him, it wasn’t about tits and it certainly had nothing to do with ass. His motives were deeper, purer; something only someone with a similar tragic past would understand.

He merely put up with long lines of superficial women demanding exuberant changes to perfectly fine bodies. It was a means to an end, and finally it was all paying off.

His assignment with a new burn unit at Eastport General Hospital was the job he wanted—a place where he could really make a difference.

When a busty barmaid tries to start up a conversation, she threatens to drag him back into the practice he left behind. No matter how attractive she is, that couldn’t happen.

Taking a step backward isn’t part of the plan, but maybe it should be.

About C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche. Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time. To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger. People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years. I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different. I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Whew the chemistry in this story is off the charts!  I love a second chance plot and this one comes with a little more danger. Isaac and Mina will grab you from the very beginning.  They have a past but no one else knows.  Great story, great plot, and our favorite Hawke characters!

This is an amazing read!! There is a prequel to this book that I suggest you read but you don’t have to in order to dive into this one. Jack and Isaac have off the charts chemistry. It’s been five years since they last saw each other and there is so much they have to say. I was ecstatic when I found out that the author was writing a second generation series. I have loved reading about the Hawkes since the beginning. Jack and Isaac have a lot of feelings and outside problems that they have to work through. This story has action, romance, danger, steamy moments and so much more. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. This is a must read you don’t want to miss out on.

Walt and Elyse were a powerful duo. This book was great though not surprised with KG Fletcher. Could the two make two worlds collide and build something beautiful? Read it and you will find out. Honestly such a great novel, perfect length, great story building and the characters are always to die for. Couldn’t put this one down and I say that often but I read this one twice. I didn’t want it to end and I wasn’t ready to let these two go. The chemistry is off the charts and these two are exceptional!

Shameless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #2)Shameless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shameless Love is the 2nd book in the Bennetts of Langston Falls series. I did not read the first book, and still enjoyed this, however, I felt like I was missing quite a bit of backstory. The focus of the story is on Elyse and Walt, and their story is a stand alone. However, there is a lot of background family drama at the start and end of the book, that I felt lost regarding. I assume Teddy and Glen’s drama unfolded in book 1. This book did not go the direction I was expecting. The story starts out talking about Walt buying a house, in a questionable way, with some background drama. And then shifts to his sister Becky, and being approached by a cable network Cooking show. Walt offers to chaperone her, and up to this point, is portrayed as a southern country gentleman. However, things turn around at the New Years Eve party, and the book turns to a bit of smut. The focus for the bulk of the book is their building relationship, which was a good story. But, I feel like the beginning and the end, with Walt’s home, and Glen, is a whole other story, that didn’t seem to flow well. It was a little more steamy than I expected, but the author did warn us of that! Overall, not bad, and I would read the others in the story or by the author. I like the close family dynamic the author created.

When he walks into his father’s office and sees the one woman who he has been obsessed with for the last 5 years, his world is turned upside down.

This book has forced proximity, second-chance romance, a pending mafia war and so much more. Written incredibly well, you can’t help but fall into the lives of every character in this book. I am looking forward to reading everything this author has about these families.

Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 1)Ruthless Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ruthless Hawke is a Second Generation Hawke Family Novel. Although you don’t NEED to read the others to read this one, I personally would recommend reading the other series first. You will know most of the family and their back stories more coming into this one that way. BUT you CAN read it as a stand alone.
The Hawke’s New Orleans empire has only grown over the years and so has the family. Children are older and into different parts of the businesses. You have to be ruthless in this town, business, and for this family. Isaac does just that in the courthouse or where ever else it’s needed, including the streets! Their family has suffered enough and it is on him to do what it takes to keep it all safe. There is something fishy going on though! This weird company covered by shell companies has been popping up messing with their family’s businesses. The mob is at their doors, again! And now a woman from his past shows up and throws his world upside down. Mina aka Jack is sick of being dragged around and always in the dark. Sneaking out once, 5 years ago was the best and worst night of her life. But now that past is being thrown back at her at the worst of times. The universe must be laughing at her! She’s not sure what to tell him about the past, but with Hawke blues eyes staring them both in the face Isaac and Jack must figure out a LOT of things and fast!. Five minutes can change your whole world. Now Isaac must defend not only his family and it’s empire, but also what’s his. With threats all around, what will this family go through next?! Can they finally get this other company out of the way? And what about the mob? Again?! A war in New Orleans will defiantly be bad for not only their family but their businesses too. Boy oh boy do you need to read this book!! And all the other sets!! I can’t wait to read more!!! And I just learned of another! I am so hooked!! You will not be disappointed in this book, the series, or any of the other Hawke series!

Second Chance Romance

I love the first book – Echoing hearts and I was truly hoping to get to know each of the characters in the first book even better. This next one was Brandon’s story. Brandon was such a wonderful character. However his wonderfulness is underscored by Callie. Callie is the perfect main character, she is strong and resilient yet despite her past she is still able to trust in people and open up. She had a past that was difficult and the author did not shy away from tackling it. Because just as in real life, sometimes we have difficult pasts that make us who we are. This difficult subject matter is what made this book even more special. It was handled in just the right way. I truly love the romance that was in this but it was also partnered with a lot of suspense. It was well written and I definitely recommend it!

Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 1)Ruthless Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Where do you start with this book? The chemistry between Jack and Isaac is palpable through the pages. The action is spine tingling. The drama is and the feels are so nerve wracking. That scene with Vivi and Emilio, I wanted to punch him so bad. The family bond is so sweet and yet, suffocating.

After an amazing graduation weekend in Chicago, Isaac returned to the Big Easy and family business missing the woman who captivated his heart, body and soul. Maybe he should have told her his real name. Now it is five years later and a long-time family friend is asking for a favor, to protect his daughter and granddaughter.

Five years after the best weekend of her life gave her the best gift in her life, Giacomina “Jack” is spirited away to New Orleans to be protected by her father’s friends during a family crisis. Upon walking into the office, Jack finds an older version of the man that gave her Viviana. Then meets Isaac. Imagine Isaac’s surprise when he sees Jack and then his own eyes on a little girl. But Jack’s arrival brings danger with her. Now Isaac must risk himself and his family’s plans to protect Jack and their future together.

Between the action, the drama, the steam, the heat, and the banter, this book is unputdownable. If this is where you are starting your journey with this family, that is fine. You will find that it is easy to catch up. And will only make you want to binge read EVERYTHING!!! Pull up your chair at Nana’s table for Sunday dinner, all Hawkes family members welcome!

Echoing Hearts (The Echo Series Book 1) by C.R. Alam – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Echoing Hearts (Book 1 of The Echo Series)Echoing Hearts by C.R. Alam

Rae is sent in to interview a property owner and write an article about a home when the original woman gets sick. However, the man at the house is not expecting her. He is rude and arrogant…and good looking…and did I mention arrogant? Dean is intrigued by the woman trespassing on his property. When he finds out the reason she is there, he entertains her for the weekend with thoughts of never seeing her again.

When their paths cross again, they start building a friendship…and, later, a relationship. But the betrayal from Dean’s past and the abandonment issues from Rae’s past keeps them from opening up completely to each other. This creates roadblocks that they can’t seem to overcome. When Rae shuts him Dean out completely, there is nothing he won’t do to tell her the truth…but is Rae willing to listen? Or has she closed off her heart forever?

This was a good story. It is a slow-burn that requires the main character to really work for it. There is a lot of emotional baggage to wade through, from both of them…but it feels so real because they are things that normal people go through in their own relationships. I could literally feel the highs and lows of the characters (and wanted to slap Dean upside the head a few times). I found myself immersed into their story and was rooting for them to find their happy endings.

⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐ Book Review

Echoing Hearts is the first installment of the Echo series. C.R. Alam loves to write heartfelt and steamy love stories that feature characters her readers would root for. Echoing Hearts definitely does not fall short in either of those categories. This enemies to lovers romance features two amazing characters who are vulnerable, stubborn, and struggle with relationship insecurities. Dean and Rae were lovable and relatable. At times I wanted to shake some sense into Dean and make him realize how crazy he was being. But in the end I found myself rooting for their relationship all the way. They both deserved to be happy. I can’t wait to see what book 2 brings to the table.

Five years ago, Isaac had an unforgettable weekend. He met the woman of his dreams and lost her. Although he tried everything in his power to find her, he was unsuccessful. Life went on and he took over protecting his family in the courtroom and otherwise. One day he comes back from work to find her standing in his father’s office. A woman that needs protection and she’s not alone. The prettiest little girl with his eyes is staring at him. Speechless that she magically appeared and stunned to find out that he is a father. Overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions, he realizes that he will do anything to protect what’s his.

I loved these two in the prequel to this book and continued to love them in this one. I admit that I was a little frustrated with Jack and her seesawing emotions . Under the circumstances though I can understand. The book is filled with love, tension and drama. It really is worth the read.

I enjoyed this romantic read very much. Rae and Dean had chemistry from the beginning but their past relationships have made them very leery of romance. I liked how the author let other characters help bring the story alive and helped us get to know the main characters better. There are some steamy moments in this book that you don’t want to miss out on. I had a hard time putting this book down once I started reading because I became invested on how things were going to turn out for these two. Rae and Dean go through some ups and downs in this story and I think it made them better for it in the end. I recommend this book. I can’t wait to read what the author has in store for us next.

I loved reading this book, it had both enemies to lovers AND a love triangle, which are my favorite tropes ever!! The characters were funny and relatable, and really likable. I loved Echoing Hearts! Gives off highkey Lifetime movie vibes that I really & truly adore. Steamy & sweet & a touch angsty, I read this book in a day & a half only because I have kids & I guess kids like, need attention or whatever lol. This book also gave me almost painful wanderlust, in the most delightful way though, so I’m cool with it. Brandon is a DREAM I wish I could bring to life, & I hope so much that there’s a next book about his wonderful self along with his mysterious past romance. Relatable, fantastically written characters full of self awareness & growth. There’s just the right touch of drama to make the love story exciting & make me tear up, without being heartbreaking & making me ugly cry. Definitely a good choice for a book pick me up any time!
