Holy hotness! Brooklyn finds herself mixed in with all the Kings men….(run with that how you will). Get a fan, it’s hot in here. Brooklyn is just trying to survive and thinks she is a hot mess. The King boys just want to protect her. I found the story quite entertaining. A lot of steamy romance (if you can’t handle the heat, put the book down). The characters are charming. Must have more. Looking forward to the next book.

Its been a bit since I have read a book by this author. After reading this one I can see she still has it. This is loaded with an amazing storyline and filled with outstanding characters. Luckily since this is the Hawke second generation stories the first generation is highly visible and always involved.
Overall this is a book that filled me with hope as well as left me surprised and shocked a time or two. The characters have nice growth plus the bond they share is easily felt coming off the pages. I look forward to more in this series.

Enemies to lovers contemporary romance This is the first book in The Echo Series and it was very well done. I quickly connected with Rae especially with her straightforward manner and the way she justifies everything. Dean was also an easy character to like, though he has some very sharp edges. Their path to happiness is especially rough but I really like how the author kept their romance mature and realistic. There’s a bit of everything thrown in from angst to a bit of steam. Looking forward to getting to know Brandon more in book 2. Recommend.

What a fantastic book by a truly wonderfully talented author. I really enjoyed following Rae and Dean as these two remarkably strong willed and determined characters fell for each other while fighting against past hurts that they believed not only formed them but also protected them. This book is a really great read with wonderful characters, both main and side characters are well developed, vivid writing that enables you to completely envision the world they live in and a creative storyline to keep you reading page after page! It’s a fantastic start to what I am sure will be a fabulous series! Bring on the next book I say!!

I did not know if I would love or hate this book upon first glance. It was outside of the box for me because I don’t typically enjoy love triangles. This author is new to me and I would 100% pick up another book they have written. The story was heartfelt, romantic, emotional, dramatic, and felt down to earth. Rae and Dean had a story that most can humanly relate to. Ray and Dean each had a background where heartbreak shaped their outlook on where their lives would go. With determination and distraction, they successfully avoided, the L word, and their past demons. As they find their feelings, unavoidable, they just give in and go where things lead. Both prove to be stubborn and jaded. They dive in headfirst and learn what it is like when love is meant to be.

Wonderful second chance slow burn romance as this is a new author to me and I am looking foward to more!!
Rae Allen and Dean Rowland meet by chance, as Rae is working on a article for a Homes magazine all about Dean’s beautiful home in they eyes of Dean’s sister Kat. There is some tension at first, Dean is a bit stand offish and rude, Rae is all about business as she is a known blogger and journalist with her many adventures all across the globe. Sparks fly between Rae and Dean and months later, Dean is trying to persuade Rae to more….getting to know each other..Dean’s totally intrigued by Rae as she is no holds bar like the other women in Dean’s past. What needs to happen is also letting the past go in order for Rae and Dean to move forward. Will the past come back and haunt Dean before he can move on and fall in love?
Betrayal, love, banter, jealousy and mistrust play into this story and it was hard to put down. I loved Dean and Rae as they try and navigate their feelings while trying not to get their heart broken as well. I am looking forward to book 2 in this series!

This book was absolutely one of the best romance novels I have ever read! The development of the characters was amazing, I felt like I was watching a movie as the storyline played out, it was so real. Right from the beginning when we step into the life of Dean Rowland, an extravagantly rich gentleman about to say “I do” to the mysterious Leighton, I felt that he had to be our main character. Then the transition into the life of Rae Allen, the wandering free spirit of a woman, hanging out with her rock band friends and reading an article about Dean Rowland’s runaway bride. I knew right there that at some point this would be our leading lady, but boy I had no clue what kind of a rollercoaster ride we would be on with these two. I could not put his book down from the second that I picked it up, I’m a romantic and I wanted to see Dean and Ray find their happier ever after, whether it be with them, or with Leighton and Brandon, the illustrious rock star who believed everyone deserved their soul mates. @Brandy Rymer 3/2023

This was a really good read! I really enjoyed all the twists throughout this book and the romance. The characters were fantastic and I was really rooting for them throughout this read. Having read and enjoyed book one in this series I was looking forward to being back in Langston Falls with the Bennett’s, and I was not disappointed. This story focuses on small town Walter (Walt) Bennett and city girl Elyse Farrell, in an opposites attracts steamy romance. Broody and a bit grumpy Walt has worked hard to protect his family and make a life for himself in Langston Falls, whilst the sexy television producer, Elyse has no interest in settling down in a small town. Therefore, he knows that he should have looked the other way when he saw Elyse in a very revealing dress at a studio party, but he couldn’t resist their chemistry and neither could she. Thinking they can only ever be friends who shared a passionate night together, they plan on going their separate ways. However, when then get trapped together during a freak snowstorm they realise there connection maybe stronger than they thought. The descriptive narrative once again brought the small town feeling of Langston Falls vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. The chemistry between Walt and Elyse really came across in the writing and I was hoping they would get their promised HEA.

This novel has an interesting plot. I’ve never known people to invite others into their home to review it unless they are looking to sell. Kat does not want to sell, so it is peculiar to me that she wants someone to write about it. Other than that, Rae is a force to be reckoned with both professionally and personally.
Rae and Dean have this connection that is undeniable from the moment they meet. You can feel every bit of emotion from the authors writing. If you are looking for a great romance novel, this is it. I cannot wait to read the sequel!

This book has everything from drama, some sassiness, and romance. The book is the first in the series by this author. I was drawn in by the synopsis of what the book is about. I love a good feisty book. This story did not disappoint. The main characters from the beginning are real sassy towards each other but yet they have this independence to do things their way which makes it even better. I am a sucker for strong lead characters. Going through what threading female did growing up, it would make anyone jaded when looking at life. This is where most of that sassiness that I love comes form. She is used to doing things on her own to get things done. Meanwhile, the leading male character has had a relatively easy lifestyle compared to the leading female. However, they both bring their own hurts for the past to what they are working with now. They are reluctant to even consider a relationship because of those hurts but like any true romance story they overcome those obstacles. This book had me laughing out loud during certain parts and swooning with others. It does start out a little slow in my opinion, like it is slowing building into what the climax of the book. Normally that bothers me but this time I felt like it needed to start slow for the reader to fully grasp what the characters have bene through. I would recommend taking a day to read this book because you wont be disappointed. It is a true slow burn romance that will have your emotions all over the place while reading. Reviewed by: @bbohls

After “Night Hawke” left you on a cliffhanger, of sorts, it was totally worth it for “Ruthless Hawke”. I really loved book one in this series. This book starts 5 years after ‘Night Hawke’ with Issac (aka Nolan) in court working for his family’s businesses as their lawyer. After court that day he gets an emergency text from the family to get over to his dad’s office. On the other side of the story, Mina (aka Jack) is on her way to New Orleans to “hide” with a family friend of her father’s that she has never met. Her mother is Donne in Chicago and threats have been made against the family. Until the threat is handled they want Mina in a place no one would look. While not trying to give too much away, you come to see very quickly how Nolan and Jack will reunite after these 5 years. Two people who have been obsessed with each other, in their own minds, but never thought they will ever see each other again are now going to be emotionally jolted. The man she has been dreaming about is now her protector. Needless to say, Issac is pretty pissed after how they parted, but there are many complications coming their way. Can Issac handle being around this woman who has haunted him for so long, and can he keep her safe from this threat? Will the secrets the two have been keeping come out and affect the situation? Will they be able to keep their hands off each other? It is definitely a great story projected just what a small world it is out there. I really enjoyed this book. I thought the plot was fast-moving and interesting, the characters were loveable, and the surprises along the way were great. As for the characters, these two together are just magic on paper. Issac is a confident, over-protective, possessive (in an endearing way), smart, and overall sexy character. Mina is a strong, but shelter woman. She hasn’t been given much freedom in her life, but she still is a dreamer, realist, creative, talented female character. The two have great chemistry even when they are fighting. The intimate scenes, while it is mainly a plot-driven book, are amazing. He is a dirty talker which helps you truly visualize the aspects that are happening between the two of them. The one thing that was a little difficult is that there are a lot of characters introduced and it was really hard to keep track, but props to the writer she kind of include the difficulty in the characters remembering family too. I am excited to read other books that come out in this series.

I loved the prequel to this book telling how Isaac and Mina met, so I was not surprised at all that I enjoyed this book too! The first book in the series jumps five years into the future from where the prequel left off, when Isaac and Mina met he was “Nolan” and she was “Jack” now they know who the other truly is and, surprise there was a baby produced from that first meeting so many years ago. Gwyn Mcname’s ability to tell a story that sucks you in and steals your ability to put her book down is wonderful, I love books that keep me vested!

Rae is a woman focused on her job that has no time to look for romance. She is happy to travel and write articles for magazines without worrying about settling down. Rae does not believe in the concept of a fairy-tale romance with a happily ever after ending because she watched as her mom fell into a deep depression after she had her heart broken. When Rae takes on a last-minute assignment as a favor for a friend, she is only expecting to write an article on an up-and-coming female architect.
When Rae arrives on the property she is to write the article about she is greeted by a man who accuses her of being a trespasser. The man greeting her so coldly unbeknownst to her is the homeowner, Dean. Her first impression of him is that he is good-looking but that does not make up for how rude he is. Dean is home on a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city and his flourishing business. He is not expecting a sassy little redhead to come wandering into his life so unexpectedly. Although he finds her attractive, he has no desire to be in a relationship and wants nothing to do with women after his fiancée left him at the alter. Rae and Dean spend the weekend remaining cordial to each other for Dean sister’s sake. Dean does not want to ruin his sister’s career and Rae finds his sister to be a genuinely kind person.
Once the weekend is over, Rae and Dean expect to go their separate ways and never see one another again. Life has unexpected plans for them when they both end up at the same club. Dean is there for work and Rae is there to see a friend of hers that plays in a band that is playing at the club. Dean cannot take his eyes off Rae but refuses to admit that he is drawn to her. Rae does her best to ignore her attraction to Dean and still thinks he is a jerk. Despite their denial they feel the intense attraction towards one another but refuse to act on it.
This book was very well written, and I enjoyed reading it to see how things would play out between the characters. Both Rae and Dean had their own emotional baggage they were carrying around that came from past hurt and trauma. This made them fearful of getting hurt again so they decided it was best to just stay away from relationships. When they meet they realize that they have to work through their demons and heal from their past trauma so they could move forward. The ensuing journey is an emotional rollercoaster ride as Rae and Dean struggle to overcome their past. A beautifully written love story with passion, chemistry, drama, emotional scars, family, friends, jealousy and raw emotion.

I really enjoyed this story. It starts out with a sexual scene but it follows with so much. There is a lot going on in the book but it is not hard to follow or understand like some others. An unconventional love story at the least. I’ll definitely be binging other stories by Gwyn.

First book by this author and pleasantly happy. This story is about heartbreak and 2nd chances. Sometimes heartbreak is disguised as disappointment. However, “Heartbreak is always a risk for the kind of love worth the wait”.
Rae has watched her mother literally die from a broken heart which led to depression. Rae knew love wasn’t meant for everyone, especially her. There was no way she wanted to end up like her mother.
Dean gets left at the altar and while he doesn’t seem to upset by this turn of events, he decides marriage and relationships in general are a no-go for him. He doesn’t see ever finding the kind of forever love his parents still have.
These two meet because fate is a funny thing. Almost wrong place at the wrong time but everything with these two is so right. Fireworks from the very first moment they meet. These characters are sassy and take no crap from anyone much less each other. At first it just seems like a lust filled attraction, but they soon learn they have something different going on. They eventually learn to love each other fiercely, but neither knows how to deal with those feelings. Past relationships come to a head and force Dean and Rae to face some hard truths.
Overall, this story is really good. I enjoyed the bantering, the push and pull of Dean and Rae’s attraction. I enjoyed the secondary characters because everyone should have a friend, a sister, a brother, someone that pushes you to be better, someone who holds you when things are hard, someone who gets you. That someone doesn’t have to be a romantic partner but an actual best type of friend.
Looking forward to what and who comes next in this series.

Echoing Hearts is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance / Enemies to Lover’s Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I absolutely loved reading this book and it proved to be the perfect book to read on a dreary day. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. This is a Rae and Dean’s story. Rae is traveling the world living her dream all while getting paid to do it. She doesn’t believe in love and Happily ever afters due to watching her mom go down down hill from a broken heart. Then there’s Dean who is a thriving business man with more money than he knows what to do with. These two meet and the chemistry between them is off the charts but can she open her heart and let him in or will something get in the way? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Taming Brooklyn is a delightful romance tale and is the first book in The Club Kings series. Let me tell you The Club Kings are hot! This is my first time reading anything by Charlotte and I was happy to find I liked her work. Now I will be going back to indulge in the others. I love a story that is dark and Taming Brooklyn is just that. There is steamy romance that is slow burning but then there is romance where it hits you instantly. With a dangerous ex, a stalker and sexy men who are protective and alpha what could go wrong? The answer is plenty. The story is told in multiple POV which is the best way to tell stories these days because you get a better inside look in to the true character of these fully realised complex characters. Their story is spicy, sexy, steamy and hot along with some fun. I perfect read to escape the world worries for a bit and enjoy some adult time with a healthy dose of a stiff drink. I can’t wait to read more of Charlottes work.

Echoing Hearts (The Echo Series Book 1) by C.R. Alam. This is my first read by this author but for sure won’t be my last. This is the first story of The Echo Series and its a slow burn romance. Its the story of Rae who has been reluctant to find love because she has watched her mom be heartbroken for a long time. She is a travel blogger and goes to Dean Rowland’s ranch to do a article on it. Dean is angry at everyone due to being left at the altar. When he sees Rae he thinks she is trespassing so their first meet it not pretty. After their initial meeting he can’t get her out of is mind and he wants nothing more than to see her again. She refuses all his advances and when she finally gives in and they are starting to see each other her best friend comes to town and causes upheaval. Dean has never been jealous like this. Will he ruin their new relationship because of his jealousy. Read this fun new romance to find out.

Loved reverse harems! This story was wonderful! I love how Brooklyn’s character is a tough and independent woman, and although scared of her past catching up is still trying to look forward to her future. Her future at her job, and with her men. Of course I fell in love with Jaxon, Oliver and Gideon right away but knew I would grow to love Aiden eventually. I love that these men don’t care about her scares, they care about her, keeping her safe and telling her how beautiful she is. If only this was real life, sigh. I can’t wait to see what comes next, since Lyle is still out there and I have a feeling I there are going to be some crazy twists coming up.

Suspense and romance This is a good contemporary reverse harem (why choose) romance. I liked Brooklyn and all the guys. Each one had their own personality and it is told in multiple POV which also adds a deeper connection to the characters. There’s also an underlying stalker storyline. This is the first book in The Club Kings series and ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading book 2.

Great start to this new series.Brooklyn has many secrets that she has kept in the back of her mind. Now she is looking to make her life a much happier one. But how? So when she goes out with her friend, she finds herself in the middle of many steamy hot men. How does she choose? Why should she? Will her secrets chase them off? Reading this story is the only way you will get answers. No Spoilers!This is a fast paced story that involves many aspects to finding the romance that will satisfy everybody involved. The characters are in my opinion amazing and fun to read about. There are some dark areas in this story, even some romantic areas as well. This is a new author for me, but one I will be looking out for as I want to see how this series ends up.

Taming Brooklyn is the first book in The Kings Club series by Charlotte St. Pierre. This is a reverse harem/why choose contemporary romance with chemistry, secrets, angst, protective alpha-male types, insta-lust, stalker, danger, emotion, steam, suspense, past-trauma, and dramatic developments. The story is told from multiple POV’s which gives us a great perspective of what is happening. The story also has some darker details which could be considered as triggers for some, such as- child neglect, abuse, sexual assault, rape, and domestic-violence- so be warned. I enjoyed this book. The characters each have their own unique personalities that mesh well. The storyline is one of heartbreak and heart-mending. There were some H-O-T bedroom scenes, a stalker ex-boyfriend, and past trauma that has shaped the characters into the people they are today. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
