I was expecting your typical “brother’s best friend” story when I started reading The Mastermind; but wow! I was not expecting to have all the suspense, shaded pasts, danger, mystery, and romance! Nadia Han delivers wonderfully realistic and flawed characters along with a compelling story line in a book that was hard to put down! I was drawn to the characters and the sizzle and spark between Remi and Audri. They obviously care for one another, evidenced in the easy banter between them, but neither one wants to hurt the other with their troubled pasts. The twists and turns in the story made me keep turning, page after page, devouring the book! This was a first time author for me and she did not disappoint and has added a new follower. I cannot wait for the next book!

The group of guys met each other while gaming as school kids, and still later on, they are still friends and achieving all their goals. Well one has a sister who is great at her job while making jewelry on the side. Audri finds out they are all getting together for her brothers new house. Remington was always sweet to her, but when they meet again, sparks fly. This also includes past events and answers slowly coming together to a huge event. Love this book and can’t wait for the next!

This was an amazing beginning to this series. I loved the premise of the book as a back to a video game. I’m sure we will hear more about this later in the series. The book was filled with trauma for both the main characters. Second chances are wrought with pain and despair and never an easy road to travel. I loved the bonds of friendship that ran very deep within the group. Will love bloom or will it be snuffed out before it can start? Lots of twists and turns to keep reading. Can’t wait to start book 2

I love a good forbidden romance, and brothers best friends always tend to be those.
Audri and Remi were hot together. Remi was an Alpha by far who always had his eyes on Audri even when they were younger. Audri was independent, intelligent, and a fierce woman. This book was a suspense tale that had lust, romance, intrigue, and thrills at every angle. I loved the characters and enjoyed every element of the unexpected the author threw in.

This cute little book was fantastic! Each part (the book has 3 of them in it) are basically like a little mini story and I absolutely loved it. This book was not only romantic, and a very clean romance, good for just about any age, but it also felt completely magical. I honestly didn’t want to put it down. I loved each if the characters and felt like I was right there. I laughed and I cried. I definitely want to read more about these couples in the future!

This book held 3 wonderful, sweet stories! I was literally gushing as I read, the stories were happy and brought on those tender moments I love so much! I was truly captivated and in my own awe as I read, just reading these books made my heart and mind feel happy! Wonderful book of stories!

Each one had characters that lost a chance of what they considered to be happy! As they visit this magical bookstore, the unthinkable happens. Something happens to all the characters in every story that might just give them their happily ever after! But the bookstore really is the thing that sets up the happily ever after for the characters, to keep it and hold onto it, they have to work their own magic! Loved the realism behind these stories and how captivating they were! Really loved and enjoyed these!

Such a wonderful read of second chances and hope. I devoured these very quickly. I wanted to see what would come of each story! I am so happy I got to read these stories! Highly recommend with no doubt!

The Happily Ever After Bookstore is a lovely read. Centered around the Happily Ever After Bookstore owned by Leona, we see three love stories come together. The stories are sweet and tie together seamlessly. I enjoyed the individual stories and characters and how they all tied together. I have a hard time picking my favorite part because they all drew me into their stories differently. I also enjoyed the bookstore being a central location of the story. One of my favorite places to go is my local bookstore. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I adore everything about this book! The characters were beautifully written and their relationships were so unique and genuine! Leona is such a beautiful soul and Sadie is a complete sweetheart. Fiona is also so realistically cautious but also brave. Charlie is such a great grandson and I love Ellen too! I want to go to The Happily Ever After Bookstore and meet all of them, and lose myself in the books! I simply love how all their stories tie together and will definitely be looking up other books by this author because I am a sucker for a happy ending, and this book had them in spades! If you’re looking for a book full of love, a hint of whimsy, books, and happy endings, this should definitely be your pick!

My favorite thing about this book is that you get not one, not two, but three feel good love stories in one amazing book! If ever you need a pick me up, this book will do it.

Leona is a bookstore owner who loves to give her customers a happily-ever-after. When Sadie and Charlie are both seeking a book, Leona sees potential and makes a way to bring them together.

Author Fiona ends up at Leona’s bookstore where she happens to reconnect with her ex-husband. Leona may just help them see that growth and time could give them the ability to overcome differences.

Leona is good at giving everyone but herself their happiness. When Jon enters her life, she fights an inner battle to maybe find a happily ever after of her own.

The characters in this story are fun, deep and exciting. The way all of their stories intertwine is creative and beautiful. I walked away from this book feeling happy and uplifted. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

The Happily Ever After BookstoreThe Happily Ever After Bookstore by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming contemporary romance novel, with three interwoven stories all based around the ‘Happily Ever After Bookstore’. The owner of the bookstore is Leona, and she not only loves finding readers the right book, but also the right partner, even if the pair might not know that they are destined to be together. When Sadie enters the bookstore to ask for Leona’s advice for a holiday romance, she knocks into Charlie McGowan, who seems out of his element. Sadie and Charlie soon discover that Leona has “accidentally” given them the wrong bags. As they meet to swap bags, will they fall for the bookstore owners matchmaking. Leona is at it again, when author Fiona Gable and her ex-husband, Price Richter end up in the town at the same time. Having been married and both loved and lost the couple split up, but maybe finding each other under different circumstances might change everything.

Leona may be skilled at pairing other people together, but she’s never found love herself, after all the bookstore is her true love. However, when Jon Ford is sent to fix some repairs in the bookstore, Leona wonders if she may have actually found her own happily ever after. When Leona learns that Jon comes with baggage, in the form of a three year old and a four year old, she’s not sure if she’s ready to take on a man, and a ready made family as well as her bookstore, but she definitely deserves her own happily ever after. This was an enjoyable and engaging read which kept me happily entertained and turning the pages. This wonderfully written novel, had a lighthearted and romantic storyline with very likeable and relatable characters, all set in a bookstore, the perfect combination!

The Happily Ever After Bookstore by Bernadette Marie

The absolute sweetest book I have read in so long ….had me with all the feels! Wish I could give a gazillion stars….it was THAT good! The author pulls the reader in, having you feel like you are part of the town & the bookshop!

Three love stories, entwined by the Happily Ever After Bookstore—all leave the reader believing that happily ever after is indeed possible!

In the first story, the author demonstrates that sometimes it doesn’t matter how long you’ve know each other—some people are just destined to be together, whether you’ve know each other for 5mins or 5yrs. Fate (as well as shop owner, Leona) intervened when Sadie & Charlie crossed paths at the bookshop during the holiday season. A Christmas Eve mix up had the two them enjoying each other’s company and quickly falling in love—-with history repeating itself.
In the 2nd story, the author shows that it’s never too late for a second chance! When Fiona is in town for a book signing, she is surprised to learn her ex-husband, Price is also in town indefinitely. While their paths happen to cross at the bookstore during Fiona’s book signing, they (along with Leona) realize that the spark is still there.
In the last story, it is only fitting that the hopeless romantic bookshop owner, Leona, has the opportunity for her own “happily ever after”, when handyman Jon Ford shows up to repair the shop.

Best feel good book that I’ve read in a long time. Captivating the audience, leaving the reader rooting for everyone to get their “happily ever after”.

Squid (Moto X Book 5)

Levi is a man child whose favorite past time is woman, drinking and gaming.  He has watched his friends find their special ladies but he isn’t willing to risk his heart.

Kindle is a hero! She is strong, independent and has no problems telling a man (Levi) no.

Levi was a frustrating character but extremely likable in my opinion.   He put love in a box that he was unwilling to touch when it was really what he needed the most.

He had been through some stuff that scarred him, which most people have, he just didn’t handle it like an an adult would or should.

I enjoyed watching Levi grow up and change into the man he should have been.

This is an enjoyable story. At first it was a little slow but it was all being built up slowly. I really liked meeting the characters. Watching Bree go through all the different stages in her young life. Men, breakups, friends, work and family…it is all in here. The male counterparts are Interesting. Of course my favorite is the guy who goes for longevity instead of swiftness.

Overall this story had me becoming embroiled in Brees life. I came to care, worry and admire her as the story moved along. Her friends are wonderful but she really stole the show. My only issue was the whole race card that started being thrown about later in the book. I didn’t like/love her or the story because of her race. I liked her for the person and the story because it was told well and made me admire the characters. Maybe it is an important factor for some but it was not for me

I really enjoyed this romance story. What made it unique and different is that you get 3 romances for the price of one. The author does an amazing job of linking all the characters which makes the story flow really well. This story has it all and no matter what the circumstances proves that love will always find a way.

Firstly let me start by staying that it is Leona and her bookstore who are the matchmakers of our story.
Firstly we meet Sadie and Charlie. Both were in the book story looking for something neither of them knew they needed. When Leona sees their chemistry she plays a little switch with their purchases which means they have to reconnect. And so their friendship blooms into something amazing.

The 2nd relationship is between Fiona Gable and her ex husband. They find themselves in the same town at the same. Can Leona work her magic and repair and rekindle a love the died within the marriage?

And finally we have Leona herself. Her one love is her bookstore. She has never found that special someone. But when she hires Jon to help with repairs on her shop that could all change. However Jon is not without his own baggage. Can Leona finally give her love to more than just her bookshop? Will she finally get her happily ever after?

Bookstores are amongst the happiest places on all the earth! Leona is the owner of the bookstore and she loves interjecting into the lives of others. When Sadie stops in to grab the newest book on the shelf and, quite literally, runs into Charlie who is buying a book for his grandmother, Leona works her magic and brings smiles to many faces.
Fiona is in a new town and stumbles into Leona’s bookstore. Fiona has a new book that’s about to be available to the public and Leona wants to host a book signing party for her. It’s that flyer in the corner that catches Fiona’s eye though. She’s not sure she ever wants to see her ex-husband Prince again. Then he walks into the store during the book signing…
The pipes are a mess and water is leaking everywhere but here comes Jon to the rescue. He’s always wanted to buy this old dilapidated building and fix it up but the codgy old man who owns it won’t even consider selling. Then the pipes burst and Leona’s bookstore is a total loss. Maybe the old man will change his mind now…

This story features 3 couples with a 4th playing a huge silent role! I was having a hard time believing in this story at first because, well, it just seemed to good to be true. However, the more I read the more I fell in love and by the end of this book, these characters almost felt like family! I have never read this author before but have since added all her books to my TBR pile! I love how she writes a clean novel that is enduring and leaves the reader feeling like they get their HEA after finishing the book!

This little gem of a book has 3 stories that are interconnected and built around a very special book store. This is a clean romance with a bit of comedy, drama and HEA. Very cleverly written so that there is a natural flow from one story to the next and the timeline doesn’t miss a beat. A brilliant quick read.

Bree has always been attracted to jocks – those guys with the tight bodies and overwhelming confidence. In fact, all the men who have ever burned her have been jocks. This is why she has created some pretty strict dating rules and vows to stick to them to avoid future heartache.

After finding duds on dating apps, Bree’s best friend Chloe sets her up for tennis lessons as a way to meet new people and take some of the focus off of if every new man she meets is her soul mate. After finding Nate in her favorite chinese place and then being matched up with him again at tennis, she reminds herself that his tall, taut body is outside of her dating rules – and keeps reminding herself as she realizes not only is he easy to talk to, but he listens and remembers things she has told him. She becomes friends with Nate, but thanks to his being in good shape, she keeps him at arms length.

In the course of this book she meets other men, and some of them check most of her boxes. Will Bree find the man of her dreams, or will she choose another dud? Will she recognize what is right in front of her?

Bree was fun to read about and had a lot of periods of internal thought that felt very familiar to me. This was a light, sweet read great for the summer and I really enjoyed the relationships and characters.

From the very first page I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down until I finished it and boy was I right. Glad I started it on my day off work because I couldn’t put it down. The characters are complex and relatable, they immediately had me so drawn in and I didn’t want to leave them. It’s well written and paced nicely. And you won’t forget these characters ever! Finally we have a book about Jonas. He is probably the most notorious of all the Titans. He’s a playboy through and through. He never goes back for seconds. He has been this way since high school. After becoming CEO of his grandfather’s company, life has been busy. Opening his new hotel, Jonas decides to hold auditions for the chef of his restaurant. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect one of the contestants to be the woman who changed the course of his life.

Mackenzie Broderick fell for Jonas in high school and her life has never been the same. Ten years later and she is still suffering. Having her own restaurant would definitely change things for the better. If she knew Jonas was the owner though, she never would have applied. Fate threw them together again. Will they reconcile their differences or will they repeat their past mistakes?

This is another amazing book in this series. I can’t even pick a favourite because they are all so good. I was happy to see that there was more depth to Jonas than what we saw in the other books. Now that I’ve learned more about him, I definitely like him better. My heart went out to Mackenzie. She suffered tremendously. The author did a fantastic job of describing her attacks. I don’t suffer from what she does but I could fully feel what she went through. The chemistry between Jonas and Mackenzie was off the charts. I looked forward to reading scenes where they interacted. I highly recommend this book.

The Titans of Manhattan series does not disappoint with this 4th installment. This book is an easy read and a page turner. It takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. The main characters met in high school and a bet led to a series of events that unfolded both good and bad. 10 years later, they see each other again with a job on the line. Can they overcome what happened in high school that changed the trajectory of events for them? Can the hurt ever go away? When the female lead thought she had overcome everything that had transpired just to see the male lead and realize she wasn’t as over things as she thought. This book is really well written and the angst, family issues, torture, secrets and love will have you reading all the way through the night. You want to see what will happen and you become physically and emotionally involved in the progress of the characters. Don’t get me wrong there will be times that you are mad like spitting nails mad but it doesn’t last that long.

This is the third book in this series and I feel like each one gets better and better. This book takes you on an adventure. What happens when you have a ballerina take to pole dancing? You get one of the biggest guys in New York to take notice. What happens from there……a bunch of things. There is steam in this book!! What happens when that beautiful dancing girl is the girl you happen to have a one night stand with? Guys, this book is amazing!! It is a very easy read. You will find that you are constantly turning pages just to see what happens next. I got embarrassed when the characters did. I got angry, sad, flustered. It was awesome. It also has some triggering sequences in it but I feel the author has been respectful of the situations and did their best to portray a difficult situation for anyone to go through. I highly recommend reading this book and the whole series.

This book really brought everything to the table! It was not just lollipops and rainbows! It brought on the suspense like a wrecking ball! There was a lot of suspense and moments where you would not know what would happen next! The intrigue this novel brought, was beyond my expectations!

Remi & Audri were two characters that had more in common than meets the eye at first glance! I was captivated by their story and who they were as people. To have a chance at what was between them, they really needed to risk everything dear to them. And that was hard for them, as is it really worth it to lose everything to try something out that well, has no guarantee of working out? Both characters had a light within them, and their darkness showed as well. I was gripped to the edge of my sear as I read and could not put this one down as the story kept building as quickly as I turned the pages! Loved it!

This for sure is a must-read book and I truly highly recommend it. I will be for sure reading more by this wonderful author, as I was truly held and captivated! Freaking amazing read! Excellent writing!

Wow, I totally devoured this book and could not put it down. This was one fantastic romance/suspense story that just when I thought I had it figured out……the twists and turns along with sizzling moments kept coming.

Remington is truly a “mastermind”. He is totally brilliant and really puts up a facade believe he has a dark heart. His upbringing was heartbreaking….but growing up with his best friend Grayson and his sister Audri is what he needed. Years past and Remington takes over a company that Audri works for. I love the connection between them….his need to protect Audri and I love how strong Audri is sticking up for herself in situations that happened while working before Remi and his company took over. Both characters have this sense of a dark past….Remington keeps his distance in any relationship and is all about total business. Audri has this sense of guilt growing up over an unfortunate accident. Slowly Remington and Audri break down each other’s walls……but…..there is so much greed, suspense, lies and page turning twists that put both Remington and Audri in harms way.

Will Remi and Audri be able to get through each of their pasts and stay safe at the same time? Definitely read and find out you will NOT be disappointed.

This story is truly phenomenal!!

This book was next to impossible to put down. A new author for me but definitely hit this one out of the park. This has it all billionaires, murder, mystery, and mayhem of the best kind! I am eagerly looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

The dark, mysterious, but uber brilliant Remington Starke has had to fend for himself from a young age. Seemingly having an absent father, evil stepmother, and pretty worthless step brother. Despite everything he manages to make it on his own and build a successful empire acquiring new businesses and revamping them to make them profitable. One of these acquisitions happens to be where Audri Wu works, his best friend’s little sister whom Starke has always had a soft spot for. As the sparks build between them and the secrets slowly leak out trouble rears its ugly head. Can Audri and Remington stay ahead of the nefarious plans of others or will they and their budding relationship fall victim?

This book has more twists and turns than a roller coaster which kept me on the edge of my seat. Who is the good guy and the bad guy when it seems everyone is in it for their own benefit? This is a beautifully written book that you will love reading if you like billionaire romances with a whole bunch of action thrown in.

This book was full of detail and intrigue. I absolutely loved that it was a thriller packed with mystery and a surprising connectivity that wrapped it all together nicely. The book centers on Audri – an artist at heart with a traumatic past, and Remi – someone who is part of her past but is closed off to everyone. Ultimately, these two characters bring out each other’s strengths which helps them both grapple with their past.

I really liked the addition of detail surrounding Audri seeing a hypnotherapist to process her trauma. Often, professional care/therapy/mental health topics are skimmed or vaguely alluded to. This book, however, gives the healing journey it’s due. I was happy to see that it was a major part of Audri’s journey.

The romance, the passion, the danger, the mystery – all part of an intriguing read. I am looking forward to the next books in this series. Nadia is a fantastic story teller, weaving in plenty of detail and subplots to keep you guessing until the end!

This was a fun and intriguing story. The Mastermind by Nadia Han contains plenty of action and romance to keep you on the edge of your seat. There are steamy parts but it is in good balance with the rest of the story and does not overtake the book. I love Audri’s quirky and fun personality. It provides a good balance to Remi’s darkness and brooding. These are very well-written and multi-dimensional characters. They are both awesome in their own ways and complement each other beautifully. I’d love to see a continuation of their story. The plot is also well-written and although there is quite a bit going on, it does not get confusing. I loved all the relationships between each of the characters, good and bad. This was a very exciting read!
