I’ve read each of the previous Echo series books and I needed to read this one as well. Each book passes through one of the characters from the previous books so some of the past characters are brought into the newer stories or at least mentioned. In each book as well, there are elements of romance, suspense, mystery, new beginnings, friendships and family. Reading a new book is like getting reacquainted with a good friend! I absolutely love this series! Curtis, one of the bandmates of Canis Major and the brother of Calliope, was at the wrong place at the wrong time and witnessed something he shouldn’t have. One of his former security guards while on tour, Lina comes back in the picture after knowing of this news and in the nick of time is there to protect Curtis from possible danger. Throughout this suspenseful moving story, attraction grows stronger between Lina and Curtis as she continues to protect him however she can and hoping for love to emerge along the way.

I loved this romantic suspense! It’s the fourth installment of The Echo Series and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the fact that our female character’s job was to protect our male character. I’ve not seen that in very many books at all, and this author pulled it off so well. Their chemistry popped off the pages so well and the steamy scenes added to the story. The drama, suspense, action, and emotional rollercoaster you’ll experience in this book is definitely worth it. While this could be read as a standalone, I feel there is a reason that it is part of a series, so starting from the beginning has its benefits. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

This is the fourth book in this series. This is a series that keeps getting better and better with each book. I highly suggest reading the previous books as well to help your enhancement of this author’s writing skills. They can be read as a standalone but they are really enjoyable stories you don’t want to miss. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story come to life on each page. The characters are connectable, engaging and they certainly bring romance. A story about getting caught between duty and love. Which one will win? Could it be that both situations are a win? I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world from the start. They have great attraction and growth throughout the story. A fast paced story that is not only hard to put down but also engaging to the end. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.

4.5/5 stars This was my first read by this author and it was a great introduction to her work. Where most authors usually make the rich character the man, this book actually has the woman as the wealthy one. This author does a great job of drawing your attention and keeping you intrigued. This was a great book and I enjoyed it.

Dangerous Rhythm is the fourth book in The Echo series by C.R. Alam. I have really been enjoying this series, each book capturing my attention as the series just seems to be getting better and better with each new instalment. And this one is definitely my favourite of the series, so far. This story had me invested right from the get-go. Who doesn’t love a Rockstar/bodyguard romance. Well, this takes that and gives it a twist- as he’s the rockstar and she’s the bodyguard. Yeah, that got my attention too. When he witnesses a crime that puts him in the crosshairs of a psycho mob boss, thing take a dangerous turn. Her job is to make sure he stays safe. But as they are forced to flee, things heat up in more ways than one. What happens you may wonder. Well, this is definitely worth the read to find out. Each book in the series focuses on its own ‘couple’, so they can be read as standalones if you wanted. But the stories have all, so far, revolved around the band, Canis Major, and/or their friends and family- giving plenty of captivating content to keep you flipping the pages, as well as providing additional details and storylines- which help to build depth, as well as paint a bigger picture’. If you love rockstar romance, family, friendship, emotional struggles, angst, some danger, intrigue, and plenty of sizzle- then this is definitely the story/series for you. Happy Reading…

Alam – Review by Angela Hayes
This is FANTASTIC and I read it in one sitting. This book takes the familiar tale of one character being wealthy and one living in poverty and flips it on its head. In this story the wealthy one is the female. However, this is not done in an over the top or in your face way, in this story it all just makes sense. The question this story explores is what happens when two characters let go of what holds them back and really become who they are meant to be. Claire is a fantastic main character who challenges the ideas of what a wealthy female main character should be. She is a model, however, she has way more brains than beauty. The only problem is that no one can look past her exterior. And in some ways, that is the way she wants it, because she doesn’t really want the public to know the real her. That all changes when she meets Nick. Nick is a waiter and she definitely is interested in him. However, he is not at all what she thought she would fall in love with. Nick on the other hand fully expected everything to be a fling, but when it continues he finds that it is causing changes to his future in art. These characters are so well written and are so flawed. But I love a really well written flawed character, because who among us isn’t flawed. This plot moves along at a good pace and this is a book that kept me reading way past my bedtime. This was the first book I have read by Laylah Abrams, but it definitely won’t be my last. Her ability to create characters is something that I find myself wanting even more of. I definitely recommend taking the time to read this fantastic story.
Most Christmas stories are predictable, what’s nice about this one is I got some wrong. Going in I was worried about the instant connection with America and Leo. Their chemistry felt like they’ve known each other for years. I laughed at all of her “dateline” worries. Would have been hilarious for her fear to have been something around that for the bonfire. But when we actually get to see what was on their letters my heart exploded. I do wish we would have gotten more with the situation with Leo’s brother. Especially since the book doesn’t feel like it ends on a cliffhanger. I loved all of the characters we meet, they’re all so happy but I still felt the different personalities, they weren’t flat. I really just recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas romances or wants to be put in a Christmas mood. This definitely had me wanting to play Christmas music and pray for snow.

4.5 stars Dangerous Rhythm is the fourth explosive book in the romantic suspense The Echo Series. It is action packed and so engrossing that the story was over before I wanted it to be. The story is refreshing as the protector roles were reversed. The book is well-written with characters that are well developed, with faults, strengths and weaknesses that make them believable. CR also intertwines the characters throughout the books, so we get to check in with them. Her job is to protect the one man that gets under her skin. But can she do her job, keep him safe and not give in to his charms. He life looks picture perfect, but he unwittingly finds himself thrust into a dangerous world where murder is the norm of a day. This is a captivating tale has suspense, tension and angst, chemistry and steamy scenes, unbridled passion, danger, pain and emotions. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more of CR’s work.

Unexpected by Laylah Abrams turned out to be quite the unexpected read- in a great way. With such an unassuming, although somewhat charming cover, I really didn’t know what to expect – but the blurb sounded promising, so I snapped up a copy and set off to explore. What I discovered was a fun story with a bit of a fairytale-esque vibe to it. With plenty to keep me flipping the pages of this feel-good romance. -Celebrity heiress meets waiter/struggling artist ✔ -Different worlds collide ✔ -Opposites attract ✔ -finding love unexpectedly ✔ -Sweet story ✔ -chemistry ✔ -Character growth and development continues over the course of the story ✔ -a dash of drama ✔ -a sprinkle of angst ✔ -Light-hearted ✔ -Memorable ✔ This is my first read by Ms. Abrams, but after enjoying this story more than I expected, it certainly won’t be my last. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Abrams does next. Happy Reading…

How many romances have we read where one character is wealthy and one is living in poverty? How many of those are the billionaire male and the struggling female? Well Unexpected is the story mentioned in the first question, but the roles in the 2nd question are reversed. The author put together a sweet heartbreaking story of two people who see one another but let things hold them back from who they truly are. The growth displayed within the 2 main characters was frustrating at times and beautiful at others. Claire is a socialite that wishes to be more than a pretty face. A former model who has extensive business zeal and knowledge in engineering & programming, but no one sees it. They see what she wants them to see. The many masks she uses to navigate a very publicized life. Thanks to the paparazzi. That is until she meets Nick, her waiter, a one off stranger. Yet this stranger can see right through her masks to who she truly is. Well at least the parts she will share. She wants him but could she ever really have him as more than just a fling. He’s an artist that is below her social standing, but she doesn’t want to let him go. Nick never expected Claire to ever show an interest in him. What started as a fling turned out to be a lot more. With a fear of losing his grad school scholarship due to his lack of/confusing paintings feelings. Claire’s presence in his life even as a random night here and random night there has had a profound impact on his work. She’s his muse. He’s taking risks, using bold colors and strokes, and not being as precise and detailed as previously perfect his landscapes used to be. And those higher ups/visitors at school are starting to notice. However the social standing between the two of them is a glaring fact, that’s staring them in the face. Can they get past it? Will they finally admit how they truly feel about one another? So many questions and plenty of answers. No romance is ever just pretty with no conflict. It’s how the conflict is handled that determines the outcome. The conflict in this one is heartbreaking because you as the reader want these two to defy the odds, you’re rooting for them.. And the need to continue to see what happens will have you saying “just one more chapter” when you have something to do and should be going to bed. Me, well I’m going to be looking for other works by this author. You will be making sure you carve out a window to read the book in one shot. Because you won’t want to put it down. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
This was a classic holiday romance and I loved every minute of it! There was even an unexpected plot twist. America was not expecting what she got when she arrived in Christmas Cove on an assignment. She was reluctant to go but gave up when she kept getting pushed in that direction by circumstances out of her control. Which all makes the story that much better. There is everything you would get from a Hallmark movie in the book including some mystery and of course some holiday romance! I love these stories that make you want to drink something hot and sit with a fuzzy blanket on the couch!

This was an enjoyable and engaging romance with a modern fairytale feel to it which kept me happily turning the pages. Claire Morgan is a Celebutante who plays the air-headed-heiress that the gossip sites expect, to perfection. People are much more interested in her designer gowns and love life, then they are about her degrees in business and computer science. Nick is a struggling artist who works as a waiter and who’s worrying that his grad school scholarship is in jeopardy, due to his creative slump. Claire and Nick meet when Claire and her friends arrive at the restaurant where Nick works, at closing time. The pair discover they have a lot in common and they start what they thought, would be a meaningless fling. Nick spurs Claire towards the tech career she’s always wanted and she inspires his art. However, they are both too good at putting on an act and at hiding their growing feelings, and will need to trust in one another if there relationship is to develop and last. I loved the chemistry between Nick and Claire, and how their relationship developed throughout the story. The storyline flowed well and I found this to be a heartwarming and entertaining romance.

What an action-packed romance this is. I fell in love with these characters. The heroine is the star in this romance. She rescues him and then he rescues her. Such a sweet story full of drama. I loved every minute of it. I was drawn in right from the start by these two. This is part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. It’s an excellent romance for those seeking action-packed. I recommend it.

Celebutante Claire Morgan is an expert at playing the air-headed-heiress gossip sites expect. Sure, she’s got degrees in business and computer science, but people are much more interested in the designer of her last gown or who she’s dating (for the next minute). Besides, posing for the paparazzi is safer than letting anyone get too close.
Waiter and struggling artist Nick Holden probably should have majored in engineering instead of following his dream. It’s a little late now, but with his grad school scholarship in jeopardy from a creative slump and only so many times he can deflect his doubts with dumb jokes, the last thing he needs is Claire and her friends breezing into the restaurant at closing time. Even if she is more beautiful than a Monet.
When one of Nick’s wisecracks turns Claire’s spokesmodel smile sincere, it’s clear the pair has more in common than they thought. Staying on opposite sides of the velvet rope, they begin a fling that is far from meaningless. While hiding their growing feelings, Nick spurs Claire toward the tech career she wants and she inspires new vision in his art. But they’ll need to trust each other and drop their acts if they’re going to live happily ever after.
Can the gossip girl find love with a no-name artist? Or will they let their storybook ending slip away?

I love a good small town Christmas story and this is definitely one. It takes place in a small coastal town during the holiday season and it is an absolutely cozy read. One that would be absolutely perfect being read by the twinkle of the Christmas Tree. This story is set in Christmas Cove which is a small town that lives up to its name. As it is where America (our main character) rediscovers the magic of Christmas. It isn’t discovered on her own though – it takes the charm of the small town and all of its citizens to help her find her way back. Sarah Dressler does a fantastic job creating the character of America as someone who is flawed yet isn’t too far gone. However, she does an equally fantastic job in describing and creating the charm of Christmas Cove. There were so many times where her descriptions made me feel like I was right there on those snow covered streets. This is absolutely a fantastic read that I highly recommend this holiday season.

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler. This is the perfect little book to get you in the Christmas spirit. Its the story of America Greene who is a big city girl and she loves her job as editor. When she is sent to Christmas Cove on assignment and she expects to be drowning in Christmas cheer but what she finds is no Christmas Cheer. When Leo, the town mayor, convinces her to stay the instantly fall head over heels in love. (It is a little Hallmark movie like). While they plan to turn Christmas Cove into a real Christmas mecca she also plans to write the best piece her employer has ever seen so that her writing career can take off. I’m not a huge romance reader but his sweet book made me love the town of Christmas Cove and its people. I felt like I lived there. This book will be a good read to get you in the Holiday mood and even gives a little sizzle with the characters chemistry!

Christmas Cove was a really sweet Christmastime read and one that I really enjoyed. The characters America and Leo were such lovely people and I really took them both to my heart – I thought that they were both likeable and relatable. Alongside the main characters were some really fun and entertaining secondary characters who really added something extra to the story. The story definitely made me think of a Christmas movie and I love that it had that feel. Overall I really loved this book, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and definitely got me in the Christmas mood! I’ll definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

I really enjoyed this deliciously slow burn! I’ve read a few books by this author and they’re all fantastic. From the very beginning I was very invested in the characters and what would happen. This author has a way of drawing you into their world slowly until you’re fully immersed. I read this in one sitting and was very excited to jump straight into the next book. It can feel a bit slow in the beginning, but I promise it picks up and you won’t want to miss what happens! I highly recommend picking this book up and getting lost in the world of Remi and Audri.

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler – 5 out of 5 stars
What would you think if you went to a place named Christmas Cove around Christmas only to find it Christmas-less? Travel editor, America Greene, had a hard time learning that Christmas is much more than just a place. Christmas is about the traditions and bringing loved ones together. This book gives off Hallmark vibes. I highly recommend.

Travis Barnes isn’t looking for a happy ever after.
Unlike his brothers, he doesn’t think he deserves one. As a teenager, he broke the heart of the girl he’d fallen in love with and he’s never forgiven himself. He sure as hell doesn’t expect her forgiveness.
Since then, he fell into a dangerous double life, one nobody, not even his twin, could begin to guess at. He accepts the risks, hoping to atone for his sins and save others like he couldn’t save his former love. When an assignment lands him in the hospital with a near fatal injury, his handler gives him a choice, take a break…or he’s out.
The last thing Travis expects is for his handler to put him up in a house next to her, the woman he’s never been able to forget…
Bella Franklin was once known as Isabel Steele, daughter of a high-powered, corrupt U.S. District Attorney. Meeting Travis Barnes had been the one good thing in her life—then he’d abandoned her.
Years later, living in witness protection, she takes care of foster kids and pretends she’s forgotten him…until the day she finds herself face to face with an unforgettable gaze the color of the ocean. Travis Barnes, the boy who nearly broke her, is now a man who carries shadows in his eyes and holds far too many secrets.
The fire still burns between them. But can she forgive his betrayal, forgive his abandonment? And can she trust the secretive man he’s become?
Trigger warning: this story involves miscarriage, infertility and off-page references to abuse suffered by the heroine (not caused by the hero). This book also touches on teen transgender issues such as bullying and dysphoria as one of the heroine’s foster children is trans. It also involves found family, forgiveness and two battered souls who find their way back to each other.
Shiloh Walker is an award-winning writer…yes, really! She’s also a mom, a wife, a reader and she pretends to be an amateur photographer. She published her first book in 2003. Her newest romance, CRASHED, Book 5 in the Barnes Brothers series, will release in November 2023.
She writes romantic suspense and contemporary romance, and urban fantasy under the name J.C. Daniels.
What an emotional roller coaster. It had me in my feelings 90% of the book. The characters were well thought out and portrayed beautifully. I read this book in a day. I just couldn’t stop. I plan to read more by Angela, I really enjoy her writing style.

This is the third book in the North Fork Series but it is the first one that I have read. Caleb and Wynter are brought together when they help rescue a stray dog. They both make assumptions about the other but they also just can’t seem to stay away from each other. Neither one is wanting a relationship after the disasters of their past relationships. There are forces beyond their control that keep pulling them back to each other. This story was well written and kept me wanting more.

It was a very cute Christmas story. I gave it a three because it seemed in the beginning it didn’t flow as nicely. It was very 3rd person narrative “American packs her clothes” as you get further in the story the author becomes more sure of herself and doesn’t tip toe.
It moves at a good pace a little slow. But I missed the grand hype as to what the big “event” was and why everyone stopped celebrating. She did tie in nicely about the mayors being brothers. And I enjoyed the simmering romance 🙂

This book is such a sweet, festive romance story that took no effort at all to become invested in. I loved the idea of the characters having to save Christmas for the whole village and I really enjoyed how the whole thing played out. The characters were sweet and I loved their romance. They were genuine and relatable characters and this made it so much easier to connect with them. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed the writing style. It fit the characters and the story so well. It really started to hit that festive note for me and has kick started the Christmas excited. This is a great book that I would highly recommend.
