Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is an amazing love story, so if you love contemporary romance books then you will find yourself engrossed in this one. At least I did. It is set in the country music scene which I didn’t think I would enjoy as much as I did since I am normally more of a rocker chick. However, the author created a page turner set inside of a world I wanted to find my own self living in. The characters growth throughout the story is so good to see because it really does have a lot of real-life issues I could also relate to. This, in my opinion, always makes a story better. I have read a few other books by this author, so I know her writing draws me in on all levels. If you have never read a book written by her before I think you will find her to be a new favorite writer of yours.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen Of My Heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a great contemporary romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s not the first time that I had read this author’s work so I knew that i was putting myself in safe hands.
I have to say that I’m a sucker for a fake marriage book so was really looking forward to reading this book. Quinn and Tucker just grabbed hold of my heart straight away and kept a tight grip throughout. I loved both characters and was rooting for them to have the HEA that they both deserved.
I’m also a sucker for a cute kid in a book and Tucker’s niece is totally adorable. I loved that she couldn’t say Quinn’s name so she called her Queen. A total scene stealer.
One of my big passions in life, after reading, is music and I loved that this book is set in the music world. We get to see a bit of the good and the bad about life in the music world. It’s not all sunshine and roses.
I really enjoyed Queen of my Heart and look forward to reading more of this series.

I loved this book! The characters were amazing! It’s not often I find a book where I love all the characters. Hannah was a sweet and strong woman who’s been through the ringer when it comes to heartbreak and Kyle hasn’t had it much better. I found the world building to be lacking a tiny bit but I think that’s because it was so focused on building the characters and their relationships with each other and that more than made up for it! If you’re looking for a quick read that’s packed with love and passion, something that you’ll find yourself smiling over while reading, this is 100% a book you should pick up!

Fake Fiancé (A Second Chance Office Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Tracy Gutierrez

First time really listening to a book, instead of actually reading, and I must say I really enjoyed it. Adeline and Stone’s story is very intriguing. She starts working for Stone as his assistant while his regular assistant is on maternity leave. She just seems to crash into Stone and from there the flashbacks begin. They feel as if they’d met before kind of a déjà vu. Then he asks her to be his fake fiancé and they start to hit it off. Both begin to have feelings for each other. I truly enjoyed listening to this book. I think I’ll try it again with another of this author’s books

I really enjoyed the author’s writing and the story she created. I enjoyed reading the characters and I loved both of these characters Tucker and Quinn were great characters. It had a nice happily ever after and was really sweet. They both came from messed up families but found each other. I felt the book dragged a little bit but other than that liked the book.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seductive Prey is book one in the Relentless Trilogy by Vivian Fiano. My first time sampling this author’s and I was stunned by the quality of the story and mesmerised by the characters. Complex, compassionate and entertaining, Seductive Prey was suspenseful and spellbinding. It was hard to put down and left me breathless throughout many moments with the cast of this charismatic and mysterious tale. The story was easy to get sucked into and there were many oh my goodness moments. This story is not for young readers and should be enjoyed by an adult audience.

Grant and Jordan’s attraction was raging hot and their chemistry was explosive. The danger was ever present and they always had to be on guard and alert to their surroundings. Jordan was being stalked and Grant took on the role of protector while pursuing their attraction with tenacious ferocity. It was constantly thrilling and that edgy danger was insanely compelling. A brilliant beginning to a sensual and dramatic trilogy. 5 stars.

Date Night by K.M. Lowe is a rom com and is a fun read. We all know you are supposed to love valentine’s day BUT for some it can be a day of hell. The story is an easy read that flows well but is a little predictable. The characters are likeable and will make you smile at the antics of our MC. Sparks fly when they let go of the past and open their hearts once again to the promise of love.

When you are in the National Guard and a new recruit shows up and you have an attraction to each other but when something happens within their civilian life things get serious.

Officer Summers is a Boston cop but he is also a Sergeant in the National Guard from his background he needed something to ground him so law enforcement was the most logical answer.

Jordan needs money to invest within her dance business so the best answer was to join the National Guard. While working she runs into the sexy sergeant and feels the instant chemistry they have between them.

When something happens within her civilian life and in walks Officer Summers to investigate can Jordan keep her feels under wraps for the her sanity or will the hunky officer breaks into her heart.

This is the first story I have read by this author and oh my what a story this is, the well written story draws you into this brilliant suspense and a health dose of sexual tension. The story twists through and keeps you on your toes with each page read.

The chemistry between the two main characters is electric and jumps off the page with the electrical charge running through and to top it off you have a great cliff hanger at the end. I can’t wait for the next instalment in this series.

When you think you have scored the best job, then you have to decide do you go with what your boss wants or not?

Adeline has just found her dream job but there is one thing she has been asked by her boss to be his “fake fiancé”. This may become difficult when the line between professional and plutonic becomes blurred and will they be able to keep their feelings separate.

I love this author, the book itself is a novella but it packs a punch which feels like a full novel. The characters are well written, developed and create a great chemistry within the story. I could not put the book down and really enjoyed the character of Adeline as she was funny and would also love to see these characters in the future.

If you love a great romance novel with a bit of a twist this is a brilliant story to get your teeth into.

Love by Design (The Meraki Series Book 2)Love by Design by Effie Kammenou
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love by Design by Effie Kammenou a five-star read that will simply make you fall in love. This is number two in the Meraki series and they could be read as stand-alone, as they compliment each other and tell the deeper family story, but don’t spoil. But having said that I did read them as a series, and I whole heartedly plan on reading the third instalment as soon as I am able. This author has a way of bringing the places the characters visit alive, its so much more than a romance between two great characters. This is a deeper story one filled with history, passion and sadness, each character has faced their own darkness and the fight each day, but when you have the strength of Yiayia in your circle, well then you have the strength of the world. This was simply a divine story that will make you fall in love with travel, magazines and love itself.

I enjoyed this sweet romance story. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I have enjoyed every book I have read by her. One of the things I enjoy most is her ability to pull me into the story from the beginning and her attention to details give a realistic feel. This book is no different. This is a well written short story that I read in one day. It is a story about Hannah who was dumped a couple of days after Valentines Day. It is a day that holds nothing but bad memories for her until Kyle walks into her life. Will he change her feelings about this day? What does fate have in store for them? I enjoyed watching the characters grow throughout the story. They made the story come to life on each page and just made the story for me. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Lizzie Chapman Gough

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nikki Lynn Barrett is one of my favourite authors and I especially feel this was justified with this novel. This novel was brilliantly written, and the characters were relatable and interesting. Quinn Winters is a daytime soap and straight to TV movie actress whose first love is country music. After one TV death too many she turns her back on acting, moves to Nashville and tries her hand at making it as a country singer. Tucker McGinnis has been labelled as not only the sexiest country music singer but also the ‘next king of country’. His second album however has flopped in the record labels eyes. Pairing with Quinn to launch her career and save his own, they help each other out in more ways than one. Barrett writes her characters story in such an intriguing and believable way that you feel like you could be hearing about your favourite singers’ lives.

Wow! I was seriously impressed! Seductive Prey is the first book in The Relentless Trilogy by Vivian Fiano. In this book we meet Jordan Smith. All she wants to do is be able to teach dance and own her own dance studio. So what does she do? She joins the Army National Guard. There she meets Sergeant Grant Summers who will later become Officer Summers. Fast forwarding, when back in Boston after her time is up, Jordan has a break in at her studio and low and behold…Officer Summers is on the scene to investigate. These two reunite and really hit it off. Then Jordan realizes that she has someone who is stalking her due to many “incidents.” Of course, Grant is there to help find her stalker and to help keep her safe. These two have a boat load of chemistry and balance each other out really well. There is a ton of twists and turns that keep you fully engaged the whole book. I haven’t read this author before and I am truly excited for the next book in the series. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

READY FOR FLYNN, PART 1 (READY FOR FLYNN SERIES) AUDIO BOOK by K.L. SHANDWICK – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Ready for Flynn: Part 1 by K.L. Shandwick

Narrated by Anne Marie Damman

Five Stars

Ready for Flynn: Part 1 is is the first book I have read/listened to by K.L. Shandwick. This amazing rockstar romance had me hooked in the first chapter. This author brought the characters to life. I felt I could relate to Flynn, Valerie and most of the other characters in this story. When I thought things couldn’t get worse, I was seriously thrown for a loop. I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book in this series.

This book was narrated by Anne Marie Damman. She is also a new narrator to me. I enjoyed her voice. I think it brought me closer to the characters. I will definitely be keeping my out for more of her narrations.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love By Design is the second book in The Meraki series by Effie Kammenou. I am really enjoying this series, two books in and I am already looking forward to seeing what comes next.
The story could be read as a standalone if you wanted, but having said that, there are recurring characters as well as a bridging subplot that makes this book and series quite intriguing- so I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one. I’m sure you won’t regret it.
As with the first book, it is primarily a contemporary romance- with an office romance/opposite attract/falling for the boss theme. As expected, the story is well-woven, with plenty of banter, family dynamics, steam, mystery, adventure, challenges, drama, and angst- all set against picturesque backdrops.
This is Mia Andarakis and Nicholas Aristedis’s story- Mia is Kally’s sister from Book One- and Nicholas is Mia’s hunky new boss- someone she’s had a crush on- perfect start- right? Mmmmmmmm…. Well, you really need to read all the engrossing details for yourself- the story is well worth the read to find out how it all plays out.
Another fun addition to the story!

Thank you, Effie Kammenou!

Fake Fiancé (A Second Chance Office Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Karen Pearman

This was my first audiobook ever. And I loved it. I have always been concerned about listening to a story and not being able to connect with the characters, but I found that is not the case. This is a phenomenal book from this author. I think she did a really great job drawing me into the story and keeping me interested in the characters and what would happen to them in the end. I found this story relatable and very funny with some mystery and romance mixed in. I really hope that she has at least one additional book planned for these characters because I feel there is so much more that can be written about them. Also, the narrator was phenomenal, and I thought did a perfect job with inflection and tone of voice throughout this reading. I feel like I could have listened forever that was how enjoyable it was.

The night before school started back up, I went to an open mic night and poured my heart and soul into a song I wrote for the boy who never made it home.
That night, I met Elijah, and we had an instant connection that I couldn’t ignore. For the first time in months, I felt alive again.
But the next day, Elijah walked into my drama class…as Mr. Larson, our new teacher.

Ready for Flynn by by K. L. Shandwick is an emotionally intense start to what is sure to be a great trilogy.

With such an age difference between the two, we really get to see how their choices affect the other person, and how they grow and change through time. When Valerie turns 18, are they able to try for a love of their own, or will his lifestyle turn out to be too much for her to handle?

Seductive Prey is the first book in the Relentless Series by Vivian Fiano. Jordan and Grant are such great characters because they are real. We have all met people like them that you just can’t help but love and root for them. She is strong and independent. He is brave and protective. The chemistry with these two might just catch the pages on fire. I got lost in the suspense of the story. This was my first book by Vivian Fiano but I promise it will not be my last!

A great read. Grant and Jordan’s story is one of love at first sight. Grant is a Boston police officer and a Staff Sargent in the Army Reserve. Jordan is a dance teacher who joins the Reserve to serve her country and to get money for college. They meet during her first time at a Reserve Recruitment Sustainment Program, before she heads off to Basic training. When she returns from Basic training she goes back to teaching dance. All is good until she and a co-worker walk in on a burglar in the dance studio and this sets off a scary chain of events for Jordan. Grant happens to be the officer who shows up to assist Jordan and her co-worker at the dance studio after the burglary. The events that follow are just mind blowing. Grant is protective of Jordan. Jordan is a strong independent woman. They have their differences about what’s going on and to handle them, but in the end come to an understanding. Warning!! The book ends in a cliffhanger!! I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

SO, you’ve read the blurb and you know that this is the first book in a trilogy and it leaves you with a cliffhanger, so why are you so stupid as to wonder what the hell happened at the end of the book when you didn’t get a nice lovely happily ever after? Yeah, that silly sod was me reading Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano. Arghhhhh I want book 2 now!
I absolutely loved Seductive Prey. It had me totally hooked on the story from the very beginning and had still got me firmly in it’s grip and I want to know what’s happening next with Grant Summers and Jordan Smith.
Jordan and Grant are both amazing characters and I really can’t wait to learn more about them. I completely fell in love with both characters during this book.
This book has got a bit of everything that I love in a book. You’ve got some hot sizzling romance, added with danger, intrigue and mystery that keeps you turning page after page after page.
I think I’ve changed my mind about 4 times as to who Jordan’s stalker is and knowing my awful powers of working out where an author is taking a story it’s likely to be none of them.
Definitely worth the 5 stars I’ve given it!

I loved listening to this audio.  This is my first audio book for this author and I look forward to listening to more.  I was pulled into the story by the narrator and what their tone of voice brought to each character.  It is entertaining to listen to which made it easy to want to know what happened next.  This is a story about how one event can change everything for you and not only that but your past comes crashing into the present.  I loved listening to Valerie and Flynn’s growth and how much chemistry they have together.  I highly recommend this audible and this author.

This book was great! This isn’t my first book by this author but it is my first audio by her! I was pulled in from the beginning and was kept interested throughout all of the story. Stone and Adeline were great main characters because they were very likable and relatable. I was able to listen to this audio while I traveled back home and it made the trip fly by. I love when a book/audio makes me lose track of time because that means it was good!
I really liked this narrator. Her voice was nice and light. I would love to listen to more voiced by her in the future as well as read/listen to more by this author too!
I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a sweet romance to pass the time with!
Happy Listening!
