Queen of my Heart is the first installment in author Nikki Lynn Barrett’s Life Won’t Wait series. It is a Contemporary Romance, and I found it to be delightful. This is the first book I’ve picked up by this author, but I know it will by no means be the last. The author has a wonderful way of threading together the character’s lives along with meaningful, real-life situations that make this book a page-turner. I was engrossed from the very beginning with Quinn Winters and Tucker McGinnis. Quinn is an actress who is making the career shift to the country music stage. Tucker is already the King of Country who has lost his zest for the music. When the two get together, will they become the next King and Queen of Country? Will they make sweet music together? I had to find out for myself, and those pages kept turning. I love a good story that has a lot going on to keep me interested, and this definitely is one of those stories. I am looking forward to book 2! 5 out of 5 stars!

Queen of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series. This is a sweet contemporary romance featuring the characters Quinn Winters and Tucker McGinnis. Set in Nashville, the story focuses on Quinn, a former actress, wanting to start over as a country singer. Tucker, a reality singing show winner, needs a muse. The two meet and Tucker offers to help her through all the obstacles in the singing world. I enjoyed these characters and enjoyed the emerging romance as they worked together. Also, there are some obstacles they have to overcome. Music City is a great setting and gives a different flavor to New York or L.A. and lends itself as a background character. I enjoyed the characters and appreciated Quinn starting her career over to follow her dreams. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series.

This is the first book in the series and it ends with a cliffhanger. Not for anyone under the age of 18. When office Grant meets Jordan, they form a relationship. But wait, like all great suspense romance novels, there’s a catch. Enter bad guy. When said bad guy decides to make Jordan his prey, Grant comes to the rescue. This novel had me sitting at the edge of seat. I cannot wait till book 2 comes out.
This book is very unique. I’ve never read a book with this story line. I loved it! The characters are unique and broken, and use each other to heal. This just goes to show, we don’t know what famous people’s lives are really like. It helped me remember that everybody has troubles.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1) by Vivian Fiano – Review by Krista Vaughan
Grant and Jordan are so adorable when they first meet at training, and when they meet up after they get back home the temperature turns up to hot, hot, hot! Jordan starts getting little “love notes” from an unknown “admirer” (read “stalker”) after an incident at her work. Creepy…as…heck! Then Grant starts getting texts? This is a hot love story with a creepy stalker and it ends on a cliff hanger! I am totally invested and can’t wait to read the next book!

This is my first book by this author. I loved the synopsis of the book and couldn’t wait to get started. I love giving a “new to me” author a chance. I wasn’t disappointed. This book was great. Our main female character is Jordan and our main male character is Grant. Jordan is a ballet instructor who has decided she’s going to join the national guard to help her get some more education under her belt. Grant is a Boston cop who just so happens to be in the same squad as Jordan. Their relationship is fast and steamy. However, they don’t have such a great love story without some bumps in the road. Read it to find out what (or who…) those bumps are. Can’t wait for book 2!
I really enjoyed this book. Adeline is such a strong and independent woman. I loved her career drive to succeed. Definitely has a head on her shoulders and doesn’t take any guff. The way the story incorporates the past and present is very intriguing. The author Amy McKinley has a way of making you want to travel to Italy with your love and enjoy the opulence of the country.

Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano is a romance thriller that kept me fully engaged with the story. Jordan Smith has come home from her National Guard training and is ready to start working at a dance studio. When she enters the building one morning with a coworker, a strange man is inside attempting to steal music speakers. Realizing he has been caught, he tries to attack Jordan. When the police arrive, the man flees. Jordan recognizes one of the officers is Staff Sergeant Grant Summers from her National Guard unit. A few days later Grant and Jordan begin dating only to find a stalker is after Jordan.
The story is written in first person view that alternates between Grant and Jordan. I have three people as possible guesses for the stalker. First is Sloan: Jordan’s friend that wanted an intimate relationship, but she turned him down. Second is Officer Lynch: Grant’s partner that starts acting strangely and randomly disappears. Third is Piper Smith: Jordan’s sister who is jealous of Jordan’s ability to be praised by their father. The abrupt ending is at a major climatic point that had me begging to read the sequel. This is a 5 star romantic suspense book that I would recommend for adult readers that like a good mystery.
I very much enjoyed this book and would definitely read it again! I adored the relatability of the familial relationships and empathized with the real life struggles that were happening. The relationship building was extremely realistic and made me wish for a love like theirs. All of the songs were extremely well written and made me want to look them up so I could hear the melody and harmonies. Music is such an amazing way to say the words you sometimes don’t have the words for in normal conversation, and I love that she used that as a platform for communication within the story as well.

WOW!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. This story is so captivating it just draws you in straight away. I need to read the second book like now… what a cliffhanger, I can’t concentrate on anything else. I’m so excited to see what happens next. Jordan and Grant meet in the recruitment program for the national guard and they both notice the spark straight away but don;t act on it. Later on down the line they meet again when Jordan fights an attacker who breaks into her dance studio and Grant is one of the officer’s that responds to the incident, as soon as he sees her again he knows he must do everything he can to protect her even if he has to put his career on the line. Because of the content it is not recommended for anyone under 18.
I read this book a while back but when I saw that it was on audible I just had to get it, and i was not disappointed
Regan Brown did an excellent job with the narration!! Here is my original review on the story
WOW what a rollercoaster ride…. the push and pull between these two was off the charts, chemistry out of this world. I can’t believe how much Amy McKinley was able to put into only 158 pages. She put a jampacked story into a Novella. The character development is superb and the storyline great. This was my first read by this Author but I’m definitely going back for more

Seductive Prey is the first book I’ve read by Vivian Fiano and the first book in the Relentless Trilogy. As someone that has grown up in New England, I was excited to see that Grant is a cop in Boston. I always feel like a book is extra fun when there are aspects “close to home”. Seductive Prey is an edge of your seat read from the very first page and it was hard to put down. The chemistry between our two main characters was of the charts and the storyline wasn’t boring either! It has been a long time since I have read a book series that was meant to be read consecutively and not “okay” as stand alone books for the cliffhanger at the end added an extra element of torture. As if I wasn’t already going to be continuing the series, the ending did seal the deal.
Seductive Prey The Relentless Trilogy By Vivian Fiano ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length Suspenseful Romance. Get ready to be caught up in this story. Not intended for those under 18. This is only the beginning!
Officer Grant Summers is a Boston Cop. He is following his childhood passion. His goal in life is to pay it forward. Jordan Smith is an Army National Guard. Her passion is to be a dancer, and to open her own school some day. In the middle of a horrible crime, these two are brought together to solve the crime. Can they stay on the task? Who is being stalked and how will Jordan and Grant solve this one?
Vivian Fiano is at it again. As this suspenseful story unfolds you will find yourself turning the pages and unable to stop reading. I love this high action storyline. The characters are strong and determined to get through this alive. Let not forget the cliffhanger. I just hope book 2 is soon. I need more! Well Done Vivian Fiano! Well Done!
This romantic suspense is the first book in the trilogy and does end on a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this book, the story and not knowing has certainly kept me on my toes. Grant meets Jordan whilst both are attending their National Guard duties and there an instant attraction. But Grant is higher ranking and so the relationship is not allowed. They meet again whist working their civilian jobs when policeman Grant attends a break in at the dance studio Jordan works at. Following the break in, both start to receive threats, but are unable to find out who it might be, or even if it’s same person. This story had lots going on and lots of people, which made for an interesting story but also made it so hard to try and figure out who the threats were coming from. You just don’t know who may or may not be involved. I struggled to like Jordan at first, she just seemed a little too ‘perfect’, but she soon grew on me. Grant was easy to like, he was determined to do the right thing but also had a set career path which definitely gave him a dilemma or two. There is a lot of description for their time spent whilst on National Guard duties, so you really get a feel for that they have to do. I’m looking forward to the next book, I really want to figure out who might be behind the threats!
Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano a thrilling five-star read. This is the first story in the Relentless series, and I am so eager for the next story in the series, as my goodness what will come next. This story had me gripped, every page I just kept turning it quicker and quicker needing to know what was going to happen next, when it was over, I had to sit and have a drink as I didn’t think I could do anything, I was limp. This gripped me so much, I don’t want to give any part of the story away as its just so well done, there is chemistry and passion, and drama and just simply well written plots. The characters are so well done that you can really see them as the story unfolds you know what is going to happen and how they are going to react, but you are still kept guessing, its brilliantly done.
For Quinn Winters, life had dealt her a bad hand when it came to family. She started off as a model, then commercials, and then a made-for-TV movie actress. After being killed off in every role of a movie, Quinn had enough of the Hollywood scene. She took off for Nashville to try her hand in music. Little did she know that it was more difficult to make it in Music City than she thought.
Tucker McGinnis is Nashville’s hottest country music star. That is until a tragic accident changes the course of his music career. Now he’s experiencing a problem of his own as his past is rearing its ugly head.
Tucker is distraught when all of the sudden he runs into Quinn at Bellamy Records. Being a kind man, he offers to help her get her music career in motion by teaching her the guitar. Little do they both know that this will change the course of both their lives.
How will Tucker and Quinn handle their new friendship? How will Quinn’s niece play into their lives when Quinn’s sister falls into trouble again?
From start to finish this book held me on the edge of my seat. It’s a wonderful story of life, hidden pasts, and finding something that you never thought you deserved.

Date Night by K.M. Lowe a four-star read that will keep you warm at night. This was a good story, but I have read others by this author and they were better. I adored the characters, they kept me reading, as they didn’t have the best story to keep me hooked, but themselves were funny and had great timing. More detail would have made this a better overall story, but I am picky, I like getting to know where the characters are as much as themselves. If you want snarky and romantic without being flowery then pick this story up. Review by @saraoxo

To start Valarie really annoyed me, her immaturity made me want to slap her at times. There are no nicer ways to describe her but she annoyed me all the way through this book.
I really liked that we saw the dark side of the entertainment industry in this book, the author did a really good job at showing that I really enjoyed the plot.
I also loved reading the banter between Valarie and Flynn banter is one of my favourite things to read in a story without a doubt.

This was a hot and steamy romance that had me racing through. I loved the cliffhanger at the end, it was perfectly done to get me wanting to read the next book as soon as possible. Jordan is a wonderful female protagonist, she is brave and ballsy yet also vulnerable too reminding you that she is a human with flaws. Watching the love story between her and Grant was intriguing and I’m itching to know how their future works out.
One kiss with a stranger at a bar. A moment of weakness that awoke crushing waves of desire within me. To my great regret, instead of letting me further explore the bliss of his touch, he walked away. I never thought I’d see him again, but fate had other ideas. Maybe I should have walked away when he said all he could offer was good sex and mind-blowing orgasms. But he’s a temptation I couldn’t resist, and now… my heart is on the line.

One taste of Jules’ lips and I ached for more. Stunned by the passion I felt for her, I made myself pull away. I don’t do relationships. Not anymore. And I knew how easy it would be to lose myself in her. Still, it would have taken a stronger man than I to resist when she stormed back into my life. I don’t want to hurt her, but I can’t give her what she needs. I’m not the guy who offers forever. I’m a euphoric distraction and nothing more… or so I thought.

This was a great read that pulls you in right from the beginning. Jordan and Grant first meet when Jordan is getting ready to go to basic. They both felt a little spark. We jump ahead a little and Jordan returns from basic training and is ready to get back to school. She starts helping at the dance studio again as well.
When there is a scary twist, Jordan and a friend are attacked and her self defense training kicks in. When the officers got on the scene she came face-to-face with Grant again. Grant is determined to not let her go again and plans on asking her out.
Will Jordan go out with Grant? Will he be able to keep her safe?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. I really liked the characters, Jordan is a tough as nails female who knows how to take care of herself and Grant had a childhood that helps him connect with lots of children on a personal level. There are some twists and turns that add a great element to the story. I will warn we do end on a cliff hanger and it will leave you wanting more right away. If you’re looking for a good read, 1-click and get started today.
I loved all the different feelings that Love by Design (The Meraki Series Book 2) by Effie Kammenou was able to make me feel. I got a little bit of all my favorite genres. Mia was one of my favorite female reads in a while. There is a wonderful level of detail. It felt like watching scenes in a movie. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance is a contemporary romance by Amy McKinley. This is my new favorite book by Ms. McKinley. I was just the right length to fill an afternoon. Adeline and Stone have chemistry that is off the charts. The dialogue is witty and made me laugh out loud. I highly recommend this audiobook and look forward to listening to many more by Amy McKinley.
Regan Brown did an excellent job with the narration. Her voice is smooth and easy to listen to and makes the characters come to life. She is on my look out list for narrators.

This is a heartwarming and lighthearted romantic comedy which had me hooked from start to finish. Hannah Brently hates Valentine’s Day having been dumped previously on the 14th February and now she hates everything to do with the day of love. She has also been put off the idea of love in general and is definitely not looking for a relationship. Then she meets one of Glasgow’s most eligible Bachelors, Kyle Randall. For Kyle although he has both wealth and good looks he has not found anyone he wants to settle down with and is not looking for love, until he meets Hannah. This is a romance featuring two cynical main characters who just happen to share a mutual attraction and a sizzling chemistry. I loved Hannah and Kyle and found them likeable and relatable and loved how their relationship developed. The storyline flowed well and although it’s a fairly short read it’s definitely packed full and had me happily turning the pages. I found ‘Date Night’ to be an enjoyable and engaging read and one which I definitely recommend.

I really enjoy reading anything Effie Kammenou this newest series, The Meraki Series, is just to darn fabulous to not absolutely adore. If you don’t believe in hopeless and sweet love these books will make you a believer I promise, and If you are they will only encourage that love to grow and multiply! I love especially how we are transported to far away, for me anyway, lands like Greece and Italy, and made to feel as if we can taste and smell the beautiful world it is. I want so bad someday to go to both these places but I feel like I have been even for a moment in my dreams just by reading these books. Kammenou can really transport you with her words. Love by Design brings us the slow building love story of two enemies that eventually will find love within each other. I just love books like these and how warm and fuzzy they make me feel. The underlying story makes you feel like it is an adventure you are on with them as a bonus! The real hidden gem is the recipes that Ms. Kammenou gives us woven in the story. Please try them and you will not be disappointed! I cannot wait for more Meraki books and whatever else may come from Effie Kammenou!

This book honestly was an amazing read! I enjoyed every page truly. I loved how you got to have both sides of the story to Quinn and Tucker
Both from different lives but truly were two souls connected. Though out the book there were times there was love, laughter, hardships, drama and tears that I shed, but all of that and more made the story and book with all the wonderful characters what it was!
It wasnt your usual boy meets girl, boy falls in love, boy girl live happily ever after. To me this novel and characers were real! They had to work thru so much and get thru a lot of hardships to be with one another.
They had to work at it as basically any relatonship truly is and its not always easy. Feelings and carerers came to light and truly when it comes down to it , its all something we ask out selves? What do we really want? Is it love, fame or fortune, or security? This is what Quinn and Tucker found out with one another. And in the end thru everything they went thru, they know in their hearts they did it all for their true want in the end!
I loved this book with every heart string within me. I cant wait to see more books by this amazing author! i cant wait is a understatment! Honestly I reccomend this amaing captivating story!

This was an emotional read. It is a story I love and the characters are so well written. I really enjoyed the concept of this story and the way it was paced not to fast not to slow. I like how we got to read from each character POV. Other relationship’s and dynamics are also shown which further impact’s this storytelling. Pasts can have an ugly way of revealing. I love the audio person on this book they done a great job of converting the characters.

This book is only for those over 18’s due to the adult nature of the content.
Officer Grant Summers is a cop in the Boston PD so that he can pay forward the kindness he experienced as a child and Jordan Smith is a dancer with a dream of owning her own studio and decides to do this by joining the National Guard.
We first meet Jordan on her first day at the National Guard boot camp when some fellow recruits decide to try and get a rise out of her by demeaning her, but she doesn’t take any offense and just shakes her head while walking away from them until she hears the command of a higher ranking officer chewing them out for the inappropriateness of their comments, as he finishes with them, he introduces himself and then takes her to where she needs to meet her commanding Staff Sergeant. We first meet Officer Summers when he is attending to a call relating to oa drugs offence and the scene he sees when he gets there reminds him of his own childhood experiences, so as he reminisces, he looks after the child while his mother and another male are arrested.
Jordan is returning home after her nine weeks at bootcamp and as she is waiting to disembark from the plane, she reminisces about her time there and the friend she made while there, she is proud of herself for completing the training successfully and showing that she is more than just a dancer and a fragile one at that, but she is surprised when she and another recruit are allowed off of the plane first with an accompanying the round of applause when it is announced by the pilot over the intercom. When she sees her friends and family at the arrivals gate and later at her parents home, she realises that they are as proud of her as she is for herself and the surprise party her parents have thrown just confirms it, the next day she returns to work at the dance studio and pulls another surprise with the students who attend it, then she gets back into the everyday routine of being home and she loves it. However, when she and her friend get to the studio a few days later, they are shocked to walk in to see that somebody has broken in and is messing with some of their equipment, as Jordan shouts at her friend to call the police, the guy rushes her and her self defence instincts kick in as she fights the intruder off.
