Love by Design, the second book in The Meraki Series by Effie Kammenou was a sweet enemies-to-lovers office romance. I feel like I just went on an amazing trip, to places I could only dream about. Mia and Nichols banter like an old married couple but their love is classic and timeless. Not only is this a romance, but you will also find a mystery between the pages.
Effie is still new to me author (this only being my second book) but I’m enjoying her writing style and how easy it is to get swept into her characters. Looking forward to more books in this series.

Oh my word I do not even know where to start with this one! This author has blown me away once again. I completely devoured this book, I ended up reading it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. I was so invested in these characters and with all the detail it felt as if I too was along for the ride. I can confidently say that she is one of my all-time favourite authors!
The amount of detail this author writes with will never cease to amaze me, the characters, the relationships, the family history and of course my personal favourite the Greek recipes all tie together to make a truly amazing read! Honestly there is not one thing that I would have changed about this story, I loved absolutely everything about it!
I cannot wait to continue this series asap and I would absolutely recommend this book and this author to anyone looking for a once in a lifetime read, you will not regret it!

This is the first book in this Saga and it is such a great book, there’s drama, mystery and romance. The Walkers are great and I can’t wait for each ones story. I love a good cowboy book and haven’t read one in a good while and i was not disappointed. I could not put this down, from the first chapter I was hooked. It had me laughing through out and gasping from shock. Cant wait to start the next one.

Such a fun and sweet story, Had me giggling and smiling through out. Hannah and Kyle are both great characters who both dislike Valentine’s day and have both recently had break ups so surely they must be a perfect match… see how their date goes and find out. This book will certainly cheer you up.

Date Night by K.M. Lowe is a fantastic quick romantic story about two cynics finding their happiness. This is a nice easy read but also has enough about it to keep you engaged. The main characters have a strong connection between them. I thought it was obvious from the moment they met. The book itself it well written if a little predictable. However that is exactly what I want from this kind of book. It is perfect for losing yourself in for a few hours on a lazy afternoon. You get swept up by the characters and really can just switch off. I also personally loved the fact that it is based in Scotland! This is a book certainly worth your time.

I love this author’s voice and writing style and was so glad to see another book in this series. It was beautifully written and had a beautiful couple at its center. I love the back and forth, the real emotion that came across every page, and simply the very real way I connected to this story. Simply adored it.

My Lips Are Sealed was a really great read, I like a forbidden romance story so this was definitely my kind of book. I was quickly engaged in although I will say I did struggle to connect with the main character Zoe at times, this may have been due to her age but there was just something however it didn’t mean that I didn’t like the story because I really did. There is definitely. Lot of angst and drama in the story and I did really feel a connection between the characters at times. I did feel for Zoe and the things she has been through. The author did a good job with getting the emotion across in the story. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is a new author to me, but one that I can see myself reading more of from now on. I found this love story quite enjoyable. There was a lot of romance, some disappointment, drama, and tears on my part. But it was worth the read. Oh, and it left me starving in the end. For food. As in the delicious delectables that she describes in such a way that had me salivating. I thought that the characters were amazing, and I would love to be friends with them. The author did a great job of pulling at my heartstrings with this story. I look forward to reading more of the books by this author.

This is my first book by this author and it was a very enjoyable steamy quick read. I have a bit of a weakness for alpha male romance books and this did not disappoint. I really liked Jules and her no bull approach. The story moved along at a good pace and there was some added plot lines to keep me vested. The connection between Jules and Adam unfolded easily and did not come across as forced. I recommend this book.

Its a slow paced story and very cliché at points. I liked the dual POV however it was nice to see the story from both sides.

When a misunderstanding leads them to believe my brother’s ex best friend is my new beau, I can’t bring myself to tell the truth, but I can’t live this lie forever, can I?
Damien Chuke is my name, but I wish it was written in lights. Being an actor in London’s West End is my lifelong dream. Instead, I’m working as a stripper in a bar to get by. When Zoe Merrill unexpectedly stumbles back into my life, the opportunity to get revenge on her backstabbing brother is too sweet to resist. When bad news from home sets my world in a spin, I never thought I’d be re-introducing her to my family as my fiancée, but we can’t go through with the wedding, can we?
One fake relationship, two different goals, and a whole lot of heated chemistry.
Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes is a steamy romance intended for an adult audience. It’s the first book in the Kiss Me series, although it can be read as a standalone story.

Her dreams include writing stories, visiting magical places, and staying young at heart. The people who know her describe her as someone who has her head in the clouds and her mind in a book.

Valerie is a 15-year-old who developed a crush on her brothers roommate when he was brought home for Thanksgiving. Sparks fly between the two, but Flynn is warned off by her brother. Because of his love and respect for his roommate he doesn’t act on his feelings. Flynn feels that the best course of action is to leave Valerie alone until she is ready to move forward with a relationship if she so chooses. At first she is upset that he left without a good-bye, but over time she does her best to get over him. She soon starts to date a young man that she grew up with and whom her family seems to like very well. Flynn of course has always been in the back of her mind and she has kept up to date with him once she found out he dropped out of school to become a rock star. When tragedy strikes and she loses several people she loves in an accident, Flynn is there by her side to help her though it all. Will there ever be a time when he doesn’t answer her call? He is a big celebrity now and has millions of people watching every aspect of his life while Valerie is a small town girl living on a farm. Listening to all the heartache that Valerie endured while she was going through her teen years was tough. I admit I cried a bit, but there were also moments that made me smile and laugh. I enjoy reading books, but to hear the emotion behind words is sometimes more powerful than what is written on the page. Both the author and narrator did a great job bringing these characters to life and making them relatable.

Love By Design (The Meraki Series Book 2) by Effie Kammenou shares the story of Mia and Nicholas. Mia works for a publishing company as a graphic designer who also happens to take professional photographs. When she attends a Community if Creatives in Publishing meeting, she finds her dream guy Nicholas who happens to be a presenter at the meeting. Several months later Mia is offered a new position when the publishing company is going through a reorganization. Wouldn’t you know it, Mia is now working with Nicholas. The hard part is that they don’t seem to get along at all. They both seem to bring out each other’s bad side. Early on, Mia is very worried that she will lose her job because of this. Will she keep her job and will she be able to continue working with Nicholas? Don’t worry my fellow readers – keep reading, the answers will come. I love how Ms. Kammenou develops the characters. It’s a big part of the reason I loved the first book in the series. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

I must say that I did enjoy reading My Lips Are Sealed. In book 1 of Carmen Richter’s Sealed With a Kiss series and Ms Richter did a very good job of keeping you on your toes and wondering what was going to happen next. This story is has it all loss, love, drama, friendship, heartache and more.
Zoe is dealing with loss and heartbreak, and in a way to help her find closure she writes a song to start the process of healing. She goes to an open mic night and pours it all out. It’s there, at that open mic night, that she meets Elijah. Could it really be love at first sight?
Zoe and Elijah are two people with common interests that form an instant connection. After months of feeling the pain of loss, there’s a glimmer of hope that healing will come. And then she gets a shocking surprise when she walks into class to find Elijah is her new drama teacher.
The teenage girl in me was cheering her on every step of the way. The mom (of teenagers) in me was not. I found myself conflicted. But with every page I turned and with each new challenge that she was forced to face, I found myself hoping that it would all work out. My emotions are still trying to register all that’s happened. From happy, to sad to tears to angry to devastated to rage to tears again…. Just make sure you have a box of tissues ready.

I’ll start off by saying I applaud Carmen Richter for how well she wrote about a lot of important topics. Young girls being pressured into things they aren’t ready for, coming out as gay, high-school drama. So many things!
For me personally the romance between Elijah and Zoe moved so quickly in the beginning it took a while for me to get into that aspect of the book. There were so many other things going on, the mystery with Brody and the drama with Paisley I kept reading. And I’m so glad I did!

My Lips Are Sealed is an intense emotional rollercoaster ride for being a young adult story. Being the first of the series it’s not too long at 464 pages but the story hooked me hook, line, and sinker from page one. My Lips Are Sealed has everything a reader could ask for love, death, conspiracy, drama, and a ton of emotion. The characters really brought this book to life for me, Miss. Richter describes their looks and their emotions in such detail that you’ll find yourself feeling like they are real people that these emotional scenarios are happening too. Overall My Lips Are Sealed is an amazing read and I would highly recommend it. This reader for one can’t wait to catch the rest of the series.

Ready For Flynn Audio Book by K.L. Shandwick is Part 1 in the Ready For Flynn series. This book was such a surprise for me and how emotional I found it. I pretty much went into this book blind and I found myself completely swept up in the story and the journey of Valerie. I completely didn’t expect just how emotional I would find this book. Even as I was listening I knew what was about to happen and yet it still caught me completely off guard.
I thought the book itself was well written and paced perfectly and it was also narrated just right. I could easily picture everything that the author had written and I found myself getting lost in the voice. This is a brilliant book and a great audio book. I would highly recommend it!

I loved this book first of all! I really loved the main female character Hannah, she had a rough time with love and with the time frame of the book being valentines day it really added to it,
Feeling down and that love isnt on your side is no fun for sure…but throw in a bachelor named Kyle who is basically everything not expected or even ready for of what Hannah wants
Hannah wanted love and Kyle was so against it! But read on and see how it plays and oh I must say I enjoyed the heart pouding steamy romantic moments and aspects of the book very much,
I really enjpyed this treat. Im a die hard romantic myself and this was like a good box of chocolates..with the chapters you cant just stop at one!
I highly reccommend, you will not be dissapointed 🙂

This incredible author has completely blown me away once again! I always have high hopes when it comes to this author and Love by Design far exceeded those expectations. It was sweet, romantic, touching, unexpected, heart wrenching and truly captivating. As this is the second book of the series, I would suggest reading book 1 first, this could be read as a standalone but it will be better enjoyed in order.
I read this story in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I was so invested in Mia and her story that I didn’t want this book to end. This author amazes me with each new release, experiencing a roller coaster ride of emotions with each new chapter and connecting with the characters on a level I never thought possible. For that reason, I will always recommend this author and all of her work. This is a series you do not want to miss.

My Lips Are Sealed is the first book in the Sealed With A Kiss series by Carmen Richter. This is my first read by Ms. Richter, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book, but as it was recommended to me I took a chance and snapped up a copy to read. I’m going to be honest here- I struggled with this story, I really did. I think I had a preconceived idea of what I was getting into and may have had my expectations set too high. That’s not to say that the story was bad, it was ok- but I really struggled with the ages of the characters. I think I would have enjoyed this more, and related more to the character/s, if Zoe had been of college age, say 18/19/20- instead of her 16 years. But, that’s just me- there are probably heaps of people that wouldn’t be bothered by her age, but I was for some reason. Zoe has endured so much heartbreak for someone so young, she has struggled to find her way back from her grief. Pouring her heart out into her music, she decides to perform at an open mic night and sing about her loss. It’s there she meets Elijah, who sparks something in her for the first time since her loss. She feels a small spark of her former life start to kindle within her, and for the first time in months she feels a little hope. Something promising blossoms between them- so imagine her surprise at school the next day when Elijah turns out to be her new drama teacher. They should just walk away- but instead decide to keep what they have a secret. What happens when secrets are revealed? Will this only lead to more heartbreak for Zoe? Well, you will just have to read the story for yourself to discover how everything unfolds. The story is full of teen angst, friendship, love, loss, heartache, chemistry, secrets, and more.

“What about if we just have a date night. No relationships, No ties. No strings. If we have some fun in the process, then so be it. We’re two consenting adults, right?” She bites the side of her lip and bats her eyelids at me. I’m nervous, wondering what she’s going to come out of her beautiful mouth, because if she says no then I won’t know what to do. I’ll just have to try and convince her some other way. “Just a date night.” “Just a date night.” I repeat. She shakes her head. “Okay. I can’t believe I’m agreeing to this…”
Date Night by K.M Lowe is a slow burn romance about finding love unexpectedly. It is a quick and easy read that I finished in just over an hour. I have read a few of K.M Lowe’s other books before, so I had a fairly good idea of what to expect- but for some reason I can’t quite pinpoint, I found these characters and their story quite hard to connect with. I really wanted to love this story- but the characters felt a little ‘flat’ to me, and some of the scenes felt rushed or forced. I will revisit this book in a few weeks for a reread, just in case I was having an ‘off’ reading day this time around.

He’s the boss. She’s infatuated. Mia Andarakis and Nicholas Aristedis are more than drawn to one another. However, in many respects in this love/hate story Mia and Nicholas have everything working against them. Not only due to the fact that Mia’s job as Nicholas’s assistant is a new one, one that cannot be upset by revealing the very strong feelings she has for him, the fact that they come from two different worlds bears serious consideration.
Love By Design is a wonderful read, and follows Love Is What You Bake of it. These are delightful stories rich with warm characters and who find love despite difficult obstacles. The trope in this book does not come without merit and I loved finding out what baggage Mia and Nicholas were holding onto and what it took for them to be able to work things out. The setting in this book is added a special touch, especially due to the fact that the characters are Greek, also the family owns a café and the fact that delectable recipes are included made the book even better.
I love that Mia had such a strong crush from the start and I truly enjoyed watching Nicholas come around. This story was sensitive, warm and definitely made me smile. Watching the pair navigate their professional and personal lives all while trying to learn how to deal with their feelings was a joy to read. I am already eager for the third book in this series.
Many thanks to Effie Kammenou for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Love by Design is the second book in the Meraki Series by Effie Kammenou. I highly recommend reading the first book to get the most enjoyment of the series. This is a contemporary romance story. It is a story that I found myself in with the characters. The characters are fully developed and complicated. Mia has found her dream job but she has to work with Nicholas, her crush. They are on an adventure of a new publication. Both Mia and Nicholas have a past that has been a bit rough. They must find some healing before they can start a relationship. Can they find peace and healing from their past? I highly recommend this book to find out what happens to Mia and Nicholas.

Great light & fun read!!!! This story flowed so easily and I couldn’t put the book down :). I loved the chemistry between Kyle and Hannah. Nothing like having sweetness and definitely some sass to make date nights and love between two people flow so easily. Highly recommend this book.

Ready For Flynn, Part 1 AUDIO BOOK by K.L. Shandwick was an emotional listen. I loved the author’s attention to detail and the narrator’s ability to bring it all to life. You get swept into Valerie’s life and like everyone’s life at 15 it is dramatic. I enjoyed Flynn’s character and the fact that he kept coming back for Valerie. I went through a ton of emotions and loved every minute of it. This book was definitely a great escape.

This is book 2 of this series and I honestly think you could read these as standalone novels, but it’s so nice to have the full back story. This is Mia and Nicholas’s story. If you read book one, this is the middle sister’s story. It was so well told with great word building and a wonderful backstory. I love these two characters and this series. I can’t wait for the next!

A quick listen for a relaxing Saturday. This story had a good storyline, interesting characters and a happy ending. The dynamic of the flashbacks was great, but it was hard to grasp in the beginning. Probably would have realized if I read the book vs listening to the audible version. But good overall and the flashback dynamic made it interesting.

This was my first McKinley Audiobook, so I had no idea what to expect other than I loved the synopsis and the cover. I’m so glad I judged this book by the beautiful cover and snatched it up! McKinley’s skill with world-building was just as beautiful as the Italian setting she describes, and don’t get me started on the characters!! STONE!! Holy Smokes!! Handsome, wealthy, set in his ways Alpha with a “pretend” soft spot for his assistant! Adeline is strong, beautiful, confident, and really dang good at her job especially when her role became loving “fiancé” to her boss. I truly loved McKinley’s attention to making both of the leads independent, mentally healthy, confident individuals who truly formed a mutually beneficial bond. That doesn’t mean it always goes well for them, but you feel that both Stone and Adeline are a true catch worthy of finding love, even if it isn’t with the other. I can’t wait to find my next McKinley read!!
