Another wonderful story in this series! I did not realize who Alice was until I started reading this one. She is a misfit within her family. She doesn’t fit their mold and that is fine with her. No marriage, no grandkids until she see the elusive artist in town. Then she starts thinking and seeing a different future for herself. Watching Alice change and grow and delightful to observe. James is a fun guy who looks at life differently from others. I enjoyed their path to get together.

Once again Tam DeRudder Jackson has written a fantastic book. I have read each and every one of the books of the Balefire Series so far and each one is better than the next. Tam DeRudder Jackson does a fantastic job developing characters who are believable but who are also rock stars. She shows the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll in all of its glory and does it in such a way that you look at the characters and feel like they are incredibly relatable. The characters in Balefire so far have been so well developed that I truly feel like I know them on a personal level. These books are each written as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading each and every one. There is some character overlap between books. Also and perhaps most importantly – if you miss a book you are really missing an essential piece to Balefire. Tam DeRudder Jackson has really created a crazy yet wonderful world around this band and I definitely recommend going along for the full ride. I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book!

This is the first book in the Which Comes First series. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book. This book is filled with so many twists and so much drama that it sucks you in from the start and really doesn’t let you go until you finish. Trust me when I say you will not want to put it down once you start reading. Marina Hanna has a fantastic ability in developing her characters. They are definitely portrayed incredibly realistically – especially with how it comes to our two main characters. Ethan and Olivia are very entertaining and are the perfect characters to portray finding live when you least expect it. This isn’t your typical romance and it really contains enough for everyone. This was such a fantastic book and I cannot wait to see how this series continues to develop.

This is literally such a fun holiday read. It is exactly what I needed to begin to get me into the holiday spirit. This story takes place in the most amazing town called Emerald Hollow, Oregon. It has the best vibe and is filled with the most amazing characters. This is a book that definitely makes you stop and think – as a major theme is finding balance in your life. This book was absolutely fantastic and I loved all the twists on the conventional holiday trope. I definitely recommend this and feel the only thing that would have made this book better is if there had been snow on the ground and I was sitting by the Christmas Tree.
There’s no denying that Blake and Morgan have some amazing chemistry. This story was heartwarming and heartbreaking. I loved this book, I am excited to read more Alicia Street. She writes amazing stories. Her characters are well thought out and very much believable. She draws you into their world and let me just say, I was absolutely there for it!

Ignite My Heart is Book Two in the North Fork Series. It is a contemporary romance full of passion, chemistry, drama, angst, and unexpected love. The story centers around the characters of Morgan and Blake. Morgan is the CEO of a protection agency and is looking for a live-in nanny for his nine-year-old daughter. His movie star ex-wife has suddenly reappeared in their lives wanting to see their daughter but for all the wrong reasons. She is worried about her reputation and wants to parade the child around in front of cameras while playing the doting mommy. Morgan is determined to protect his daughter and does not want her in the public eye which angers his ex, and she threatens to sue him for custody. He decides that he needs a live-in nanny and his friend figures that he has just the right girl for the job.
Enter Blake who is the sister of Morgan’s friend. She is out of work, down on her luck, and has been living rent free in her friend’s cabin in the woods. Blake hates living there and is terrified of being alone, so she tells her brother she plans to get a dog for protection. Her brother invites her over and tells her that he has something for her. Blake thinks that he got her a dog, so she stops to pick up dog biscuits on the way to her brother’s home. She is quite surprised when she sees the sexy stranger in her brother’s home instead of the dog she was expecting. Blake quickly learns the real reason she was invited over and is less than thrilled at the idea of becoming a nanny. With few other options available to her, Blake agrees to take the job. As Blake and Morgan spend time together their attraction grows, and Blake begins to feel like a family. Can they ever be a true family with Morgan’s ex threatening to rip them apart?
This was a beautifully written, heartwarming story with wonderful characters. Morgan was strong, smart, and a doting single dad who would do anything to protect his daughter. Blake never thought that she would have a family of her own nor did she ever see herself as a nanny. She found herself falling for this man and his daughter and felt like she belonged. Morgan’s ex-wife was someone that deserved a slap. Oh my gosh, she was horrendous and self-centered. It was all about her appearance and making herself look good for the cameras regardless of who she hurt along the way. This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions for me as Morgan and Blake navigated the ups and downs in their relationship. I look forward to reading more by this author!

Faking the Fall is the lovely fourth book in the wonderful Buckeye Falls series. The books can be read as a standalone but start at the beginning anyway. You won’t be disappointed because Libby writing style draws you into the world she has created. We get to reacquaint ourselves with the characters from previous books and the sweet small town and it’s wonderfully fun, nosy, sassy, sweet, quirky, and colourful characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. Alice is stubborn, wilful, definitely does not play by the rules, is not a push over, and she says what she thinks. She is however pushed to her limits when the residents decide to play Cupid. James is looking for peace and quiet and starting over but his patience is tested when the town rally together and make his life miserable. They decide to fake things and thus the “fun” begins. This charming tale has it all. It is witty, full of banter, a touch angsty, lots of sexual tension, with a bit of spice and will have you laughing. It is a good read to escape reality for a while. If you love small town romances, then this series is a must.

Beyond Friendship is the third book in The Irresistible Series. It is a slow burn, friends to lovers, contemporary romance full of passion, chemistry, lies, secrets, betrayal, drama, angst, and sexual tension. The story centers around the characters of Brian and Amanda and is told from each of their POV. When Brian first meets Amanda, he is stunned by her beauty and feels an instant attraction to her. He jumps at the chance to play the hero and come to her rescue when he sees her receiving unwanted attention from a gentleman admirer. Amanda is instantly attracted to Brian and the chemistry between them is undeniable. However, as fate would have it Amanda is the sister of his best friend, so Brian puts her in the friend zone and tries to ignore his feelings for her. This might be for the best anyhow because Brian is notorious for having one-night stands with women but refuses to have anyone become close to him. He has very good reasons for not allowing anyone to get too close to him and has been harboring a secret for years that not even his best friends know about. Years go by and Brian and Amanda have been doing their best not to act on their attraction to one another. It is almost unbearable, but Brian feels it is for the best because of the secret he harbors. When his secret is revealed, Amanda stands by his side but is he too damaged for them to have a relationship?
This storyline was intriguing and sucked me in from the first few pages. Instantly I needed to know what would become of the attraction between Amanda and Brian. Would they fall into each other’s arms? Would she be just another one-night stand? Would his best friend be okay with the relationship? It was interesting to see how the tension between Amanda and Brian built and how he had enough respect for her to not follow through with his attraction to her. Then to learn that Brian had reasons for not wanting more than one-night stands with women. Initially, he comes across as a playboy who uses women and tosses them aside. It turns out there was far more to it than that and he guarded his heart closely for very valid reasons. Amanda was sweet, kind, smart, and very understanding when she learned of Brian’s secrets. I loved this slow-burn romance between the characters and how the relationship between them built over time. I look forward to reading more by this author.

You and Me Equals Love is another wonderful story by Marina. I have enjoyed each and every book I have read by her. This contemporary romance is a standalone and has everything needed to make it a compelling read.
I love how it was written in the multiple POV because it gives the story that much more meaning and understanding of them as people. It’s so easy for the characters to capture your heart and feel invested in them.
Marina has a way of telling a story that makes if feal real. Her writing transports you into the story and the world she has created. I enjoy her sense of humour that comes through in her words and has me laughing out loud. I have said it before, but I will say it again – Marinas words just click, and I can’t get enough.
It is a fun easy read, a tale of friendships and love, letting go of the past and building trust. It is a story of the heart wants what the heart wants, and it is not always what you would like it to be. I know what it’s like to9 want someone who likes someone else.
There is a lot of sass, intense moments, angst and a little drama and some cute times that makes for some fab reading. The story is a little predictable near the ending, but I still really enjoyed it.
This book is perfect read when needing some much needed “me time”.

This book is a sweet romance story that has a great fake romance as the focus. I really like how this series are all clean and sweet romances as it really makes you focus on the story and the characters. I think the characters in this book are definitely my favourite of the series and the overall book is as good as the others. I thought it was entertaining and I was really engaged with the characters. I wanted everything to work out for the better. The book was really well written. This author seems to have a knack for connecting with the audience and I always enjoy her work. This book was another great addition to this series and I am looking forward to more.

I have to say I was captivated by this story and the characters right from the very start. I think one big reason is that Blake and Morgan are such well written, relatable characters that they immediately draw you in and hold you captive. Ciara is a sassy little pocket rocket and I loved her too! This is the first book I have read by this talented author and it most definitely won’t be my last. I started this series with book 2 but in no way was my reading experience hinder by that. I will of course now be reading book 1 simply because this author now has a new fan and I want to read all that I can.

Morgan is a divorced father with a nine year old daughter. He runs a protective service that trains bodyguards. His bodyguards are out protecting others. When his ex shows up with her entourage to visit, his hackles go up and he becomes very protective. But will that be enough? Blake is a school teacher. But without a job. She must take all she can get. Becoming a nanny for Morgan’s daughter will only be temporary, or is it? This is another new author for me. My list seems to be growing. But this is one story I am so happy I took a chance on. It has it all, action, twists and turns as well as romance. The characters are perfect for their parts. I must say Ciara is a smart 9 year old. She is sure to let everybody in this story know it, including her mother. The story is well written and with plenty of angst. I love this series, I hope you will too. Now it is time to look for more from this author.

It is a story of love, passion, and healing as they navigate their own personal struggles and find solace in each other’s arms. It is a captivating tale that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of emotions!

Alice got a bad rap from her family in the past books because she couldn’t really decide what she wanted to do. Now she has come home and her family, along with the town busybodies (Trudy), have started in. Along comes James, who has an instant attraction to her. She has become his muse. These two have some issues to work out. I loved this story. As things get worked through, Alice suggests they “fake date” each other. This story is so cute and adorable. This series is one of the most adorable romance series I’ve read so I was looking forward to this especially after book 3. Their adventures and misadventures during this time had me chuckling and laughing. From spilling ginger ale to showing paintings to his agent to scarecrows in a diner, this is a romance story that you can’t miss. Old faces are mixed within the story. Alice and Jame’s story will have you rooting for them as the old biddies in town are grumpy and living in the past. You have to read this one. I recommend it highly.

This was a great heartfelt read. Marlyn does a great job of developing the characters and their stories.
This book follows the stories of Amanda and Brian. Amanda is a determined young woman with a plan to open up her own business in Boston. She is a romantic and loves love. She wants to find her prince charming and live happily ever after with him.
Brian is notorious for not being with someone for more than one night. He has his secrets and he keeps them close to his chest. He is best friends with Amanda’s older brother and runs a business.
What happens when sunshine meets hard to obtain? Will Amanda be able to crack him and find his soft side? Will he ever reveal what he keeps all to himself? Can someone really change or is it all an illusion? Will the most he can ever offer be his friendship and caring in a platonic way?

Alice Snyder knows her reputation—and if she didn’t, Buckeye Falls loves to remind her. She may come from the town’s First Family, but that doesn’t mean she plays by the rules. After a decade of traveling and going to school, she’s back home and ready to settle down, or at least relax for a while. The trouble is, her neighbors are determined to find her a husband. She needs a way to get them off her back…
When James Gibson, a divorced artist, flees New York for the peace of small-town Ohio, he’s excited to get painting again. The only trouble is, he’s completely blocked. Despite his best efforts, his collection of canvases are blank and he’s at a career crossroads. A chance meeting with the mayor’s sister throws James’s routine off balance, and he’s eager to spend more time with this quirky spitfire.
And Alice might have the solution to both their problems…
Fake Date.
She gets the Nosey Nellies off her back, and James gets time with a woman who inspires him both inside and outside the studio.
Just a few weeks of pretending, and they’ll move on. Simple, right? The trouble is the more time they spend together, the realer their relationship feels. The laughter, the stolen kisses—it all starts to feel like more.
Can these two be honest with each other and find their happily-ever-after, or are they doomed for a real breakup?

Beyond Friendship is the third book in The Irresistible series by Marlyn Love. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Love, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But the blurb intrigued me, and the beautiful cover sealed the deal- so I snapped up a copy and set off to explore. I have come into this series a little backwards as I didn’t realise that this was the third book in the series when I one-clicked- thankfully it can be read as a standalone. But having said that, I now have a taste for Ms. Love’s writing, and am intrigued by the cast of supporting characters- so I will definitely be going back to read the first two books before continuing on with the series. This is a beautiful, emotional, angsty, memorable, friends-to-lovers romance… with a brother’s-best-friend/best-friend’s-sister element, chemistry, connection, family, drama, secrets, fate, challenges, and more. Brian and Amanda were perfect for each other. Fate knew it, they knew it- but they kept dancing around each other for a few years… until one night changes everything- and they take a chance on love. Looking forward to the rest of the series! Happy Reading…

Wonderful, beautiful story that spans a few years in the making. Good things take time and this is definitely the story of Brian and Amanda. I loved this book with my every that I have….friendship, drama, secrets, romance and definite roller coaster of emotions with a few tears. This story broke me a bit… I highly recommend this read.
Mr. Batchelor, Brian Fox does not do relationships. He believes he is totally content on being single forever…and forever guarding his heart with high walls that are hard to penetrate. When he meets this beautiful lady at his club, not knowing that he finds out that she is the sister of his best friend. Amanda returns home to Boston to try and make it on her own with her own business of having her own fashion boutique. What Amanda does not expect is to experience the undeniable chemistry between her and Brian from the start. Brian puts on all stops not to date or be in any romantic relationship with Amanda due to her being her best friends sister……..just remaining strictly friends. Years pass and the courage of Brian taking a leap of faith to go beyond that friendship with Amanda forms this beautiful love between them….but Brian cannot let go of a secret that he has been hiding, afraid to being vulnerable….but when a harsh reality of a potential medical issue and loss…..Brian pushes away people that he truly loves especially Amanda. Will grief and sadness overcomes Brian or will the power of love and strength bond Brian and Amanda that will never break….
Definitely read and find out………..this was a fantastic story……

Beyond Friendship pulls at the heat strings. It’s a story of triumphs and tribulations for the characters. The author brings you into a world that everyone is close knit and tight, demonstrating what could happen when 2 people decide to take a risk. Written in a way that keeps the reader intrigued and wanting more. Amanda and Brian have chemistry that’s out of this world but won’t cross that line. Despite Amanda trying to change that Brian has his reasons. Best friend’s sister. A life threatening health condition. Just to name a few. Because of that they tiptoe around their feelings and he keeps her in the “friend zone.” That is until one day when all that changes. Does it work out between them? Not every story is sunshine and roses, and the author captures that brilliantly. Keeping you rooting for them, despite their stubborn behavior. You won’t want to stop reading till the end. I look forward to jumping into other books by this author. And if you are interested in a romance with a figurative wild ride for the characters, this is definitely a book for you! While you check this book out, I’m going to check out books 1 & 2 in there series.

This is my first time reading a story by the brilliant author Alicia Street. This the second book of the North Fork Series. I read this first but it was okay because it can be read as a standalone, I didn’t feel like I was missing any backstories. I truly enjoyed this author’s writing style and how the characters and story came together in the end. Blake and Morgan had so much chemistry between them even though both of them were reluctant to act on it. Also I loved how great Blake and Ciara got along with each other. And man on man Fawn ( Ciara’s mother) is a real piece of work. I will be going back to read Fire Me Up the first book while i wait for Melt My Heart ( the third one) to come out in a couple weeks 😍

I am 100% one of the many girls who had dreams of the rock star being their one true love. So this book and series makes the 16 yr old me from 1989 squeal.
Dakota is the one who swore off relationships and want nothing more than a night with a girl if that long. All of that changes in a moment.
Annabelle and her relationship with her younger sister remind me of my daughters relationship with one another and I loved it.
The Balefire guys are the best. I just do not like Garrett and after being such a jerk I don’t know if he is redeemable or not, but I’m looking forward to finding out.

This was a great 5 star read. My emotions were all over the place with this story. This is Amanda and Brian’s story and my favorite couple so far in this series. Brian is a man who is only looking for one night hook ups but there is one person that catches his attention. Only problem is, she is his best friend’s sister. The author does a great job with their story and I couldn’t read it fast enough. I didn’t want it to be over. There is so much going on, we get steamy moments, LOL moments and so much more. The banter was great between them as well. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I can’t wait to read more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

I have absolutely loved this series, and somehow the author has stepped up their game with this book. It’s an emotional ride with plenty of tension, drama, and steamy scenes. Each book really gives you more background for each character, so I recommend beginning with the first book in the series for the full effect. Getting to see Dakota and Annabella go back and forth with each other was incredibly entertaining. I may have yelled at the book a couple times out of frustration, but that is a sign of a truly engaging book. The flow of this story is magnificent just like the ones before it. I highly recommend giving this series a chance and getting to know all of the band members!

Chasing Cheer is a sweet and wholesome Christmas read. It isn’t the typical small town strangers meeting and falling in love type, but it still has all the best elements. The cheer in Emerald Hollow is something Holly can’t seems to put her finger on, so she works to investigate what makes it so cheerful. As she falls in love with the town and the people, Holly keeps finding reasons to visit again. Ash is selfless, constantly chasing dreams to better Emerald Hollow. He stays busy, but always makes time for everyone else, especially Holly, only he knows so little about her. Only when things take a turn for the worst do Holly and Ash have to be honest about their feelings for each other. The writing is very descriptive, which seemed to slow the story down in some places, but it always picked up again. The twist on the classic Christmas love stories was fun and even unpredictable at times.
This is the second book in the North Fork series but it reads fantastically as a standalone. This is the first I’ve read of this author but I can promise you it will not be the last. Street’s plot lines are driven and her character development is on point. I fell hard and fast for Morgan and Blake and was rooting for them throughout the entire book and I had a soft spot for Ciara, Morgan’s nine-year-old sweet and sassy daughter. This is a contemporary romance but there is still angst, trepidation, and a few moments I was waiting with baited breath. I am definitely going to be reading the first installment and have added the third installment to my TBR. This is a quick read if you are looking for something short and sweet! Reviewed by @meggs1717

Ohhh the tension and the angst! I’m here for it 100%! I really loved this book and I fell in love with the characters so quickly. This was a great written contemporary romance and I highly suggest this! The drama kept me interested and I just needed to know what happens next. The chemistry was phenomenal between Morgan and Blake and I could feel it myself! So so good.

Brian Fox keeps his secrets closely guarded which has him friend zoning Amanda. He meets Amanda and is instantly attracted to her, but she is his best friend’s sister and he is only a one night time of man. When Brian’s secret though is revealed, Amanda is by his side and Brian gives into his feelings. Can a man who thinks he is damaged goods find happiness or will his fear ruin his own happiness?
I liked this one a lot. I thought the pacing was really good and gave you time to understand the lead characters. I felt for Brian, you could feel for him and why he was the way he was. Amanda was wonderful and I liked that she didn’t see Brian any differently than for who he was. Need to go back and read the rest of the books as this story had some wonderful characters I would like to know more about.

I’m obsessed with The Balefire Series. I think Tam DeRudder Jackson may be one of my new favorite authors. Her worlds are amazing. I’ve always loved books about bands and musicians, and she writes them SO WELL. I absolutely recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a contemporary romance series with some sexy rock & roll men and absolutely beautiful ladies. I wish this was a movie series, I would be so into it!! Anyways. I seriously recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Balefire are a smoking hot rock band full of gorgeous men who set many hearts a flutter all over the world when they play, but they always return to their home town when the tours are over, but sometimes they also end up playing to their home crowd, just like the one night when Dakota catches the eye of a couple of sexy women in the front row who all seem to want his attention, however, one of them catches it the most. A woman with green eyes and auburn hair who is wearing a tight leather skirt and throws a pair of lacy, black panties on the stage which Dakota hangs on his guitar and makes it known that he is open for some fun after the show and this is exactly what happens, a night of amazing sex, followed by the woman upping and leaving as soon as dawn breaks leaving only her first name and a whole heap of good memories behind.
Annabelle is a smart young woman with her whole life ahead of her, as well as the hots for the local rock band, so she cannot believe her luck when she gets to spend the night in a hotel room with the hotter than hell guitarist, but she knows that it would only be a one night stand, she isn’t naïve and knows that it is what they are known for, so she leaves it at that and keep hold of the memories of the passionate night they shared together. A couple of years later and it her best friends wedding, and not only marrying the man of her dreams, but that he is in the same band as the hot guitarist, what she doesn’t expect is that said musician remembers her and the night they shared and apparently in just as much detail as she does.
As the wedding plays out, neither Annabelle or Dakota can keep their eyes, hands or lips off of each other, but they promise to behave and so only a phone number is exchanged, but after polishing off way too many shots too early in the night, Annabelle and the other bridesmaids are escorted back to their hotel, but nobody knows that until after the fact, especially Dakota, he thinks she bailed on him, but he keeps chickening out from testing to see if he has the right number for her and it is eating him up inside. Meanwhile, a couple of weeks pass and Annabelle hasn’t heard from Dakota, so she just carries on regardless until a phone call comes out of the blue from Balefire’s manager offering her an internship, it turns out that her best friend put in a good word for her and when they looked into her background decided she was a good fit for the job, so Annabelle agrees to go down to the studio and discuss it, this leads to her accepting the position and all that it may entail, including working both in the studio and going on tour with the band and she is determined to give it her all to prove that she can do it, especially after her performance at the wedding.
When Dakota and Annabelle cross paths at work, the sparks still fly, but will the two allow themselves to embrace the connection between them, or will they keep it professional and let another chance slip them by? This is a romance with a musical twist where a smart woman and a slightly less smart man engage in a battle of wits and sass while dealing with their pasts in this spicy romance which will keep you hooked until the last note is played.

Another enjoyable and engaging novel in this contemporary rockstar romance series. Having read and loved the previous books in the series I was looking forward to being back with the members of Balefire, and I was not disappointed. This is band member Dakota’s story and his second chance at love with Annabelle, who he had a one night stand with two years ago. Whilst touring with Balefire Dakota has had many one night stands and Annabelle should have been just another one, however she wasn’t and even after two years he’s still thinking about her. He’s shocked to see her again at the rehearsal for his drummer’s wedding. Annabelle had convinced herself that her night with Dakota Perri from Balefire was just a fantasy, and that she was just one of many to him. However, when they meet at Jack and Clio’s wedding, Dakota looks at her like he definitely remembers her and their night together. Annabelle then scores a management internship with the band, with an opportunity guaranteed to lead to a scholarship with a top graduate programme, the only problem is it means seeing Dakota every day. They definitely still have chemistry and it gets harder for her to resist him, especially as it’s obvious he has no intention of resisting her, but Annabelle doesn’t want a reputation for sleeping her way to success. The chemistry between Annabelle and Dakota sizzled off the page and lead to some steamy scenes. I loved both these characters and how their relationship developed throughout the story. The storyline had plenty of drama, angst and romance to keep me hooked, whilst both the characters and the setting came to life through the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in Balefire’s world!
