Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago, #2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series. I haven’t read the first book and I think this book could be a stand-alone. It wasn’t confusing at all. The book is a dual POV with Callum, a professor, and Nicole, his student.

They met on vacation in Costa Rica, and we’re instantly drawn to each other, not knowing who the other one was, Callum a Titan of Chicago and a professor and Nicole, the daughter of a Titan of Los Angeles. After a one-night stand, Nicole flew home to Los Angeles before they could say goodbye to each other. She then moves to Chicago to finish her degree and unknowingly chooses one of Callum’s classes. First day of school they meet again and try to avoid the lingering feelings they both feel.

I enjoyed reading this book. It has forbidden love, sex, drama and danger with an unexpected twist I didn’t see coming. I liked both the characters and I liked the relationship they develop along the way. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series and the other books by Anise Storm.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have loved every book that I have read set in Buckeye Falls. The characters are relatable and the plot lines and conflicts are so true to life and families and love. This book followed Mallory, one of the Lawson kids and Beckett, one of her and Evan’s best friends growing up. Mallory is a nurse in the ER and living an ok life. She has friends and loves her family but she has been pining over Beckett since they got “married” at 12 years old. Beckett just lost his grandpa from cancer and is moving home. He broke Mallory’s heart unintentionally a few years before and then just traveled the country. They keep running into each other and with Evan planning to propose they are thrown into the planning. They are having a hard time keeping their feelings from showing and they really don’t want Evan to know. Mallory needs to make it through the engagement and maybe something can happen with Beckett. I hope there is more to come because I just can’t put these books down!

Forever to Fall was cute. I love this series and while I probably say this every time, this may have been my fav in the series. I love that Beckett is a little misfit- red hair, glasses that are always askew, WoW gamer. Mallory has been the sister to Evan the last couple books so it was nice to see her character develop. The back story of their childhood and Beckett’s grandparents was a nice touch. Very clean romantic story with great characters. I look forward to the next book, and will be sad when the series runs out of characters and ends. Libby Kay, If you’re reading this, please give us cheesy bite recipe! You’ve been raving about them for 5 books and I so very much want to try them!

I just want to live in Buckeye Falls with all of these amazing characters. I absolutely loved seeing Mallory get her own story and the back story was so sweet. 15 years ago she had a pretend wedding with Beckett Fox, her brother Evan’s best friend, and she has never forgotten it. We learn that over the years they grew closer until a miscommunication two years prior separated the friends. Now that Beckett is in Buckeye Falls and is the best man in Evan’s wedding, he and Mallory will be thrown together in all sorts of situations. Beckett has never forgotten that fake wedding or the way he feels for Mallory, but the idea of dating his best friend’s sister is complicated. I am so in love with this story and I absolutely recommend this and the rest of the series!

Forbiddenly Yours was right in line with everything I’ve read from this author. The characters are able to draw you in from the very start and keep you hoping for them. The twists will surprise you for sure. There were several points in the second half of the book where a bit more editing could have been done. But other than that, very enjoyable.

What a cute and romantic story about Mallory and Beckett. This is book 5 in the Buckeye Falls series and despite not reading the previous 4 books, I had no trouble falling in love with the characters in this book. This was a fast read and very predictable most of the time, but honestly that didn’t bother me at all because I just loved Mallory and Beckett and all of the characters involved in the story. Such a great dynamic between best friends and soul mates and also the layers of grief and loneliness. This story was heartwarming and I loved it. If you love lighthearted, sweet romances, then this one (and probably the rest of the series) is for you.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forever to Fall is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series. The book can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books in the series. This book focuses on the Mallory and Beckett who “married” as childhood sweethearts with her family’s heirloom ring. Mallory’s memories are soon squashed as her brother wants to use the ring to propose to his girlfriend. Will Beckett return to town to sweep her off her feet?
The story is well written with lots of emotion. Mallory’s brother is oblivious to his sister’s feelings and memories of Beckett as he plans his own wedding. Mallory and Beckett get their reunion as they are both in the wedding party. I was hoping for a happy ending, but at moments I was unsure if everything would work out for the two of them. I like there is a bit of complexity to their reunion and it wasn’t just handed the easiest of solutions. Everyone is relatable and Mallory’s brother reminded me of my own.
I enjoyed the romance, but also the drama that surrounds events involving family. I hope more books are written centered in the small town of Buckeye Falls.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone, however once you’ve read one you will love the small town feel, the emotion and romance that you will want to read more.
This is a sweet second chance romance filled with sweet moments, secret dating, brother best friend, and childhood sweethearts.

Mallory Lawson has always loved Beckett Fox even when they were children playing together she always knew he was the one for her. The only problem is that he is her brother’s best friend. Little does Mallory know that Beckett felt the same way about her but was held back by the same thing worries about what Mallory’s brother would say.
Times moves on and Mallory and Beckett move on with their lives and Beckett moves away. But the feelings they feel for each other never leave.
Now Beckett is back in Buckeye Falls, after losing his grandad he is returning to claim the woman he loves.
But will Mallory feel the same? And what will happen when her brother finds out about them? Will they get their happy ever after, after all the years they have fought against their feelings?
This is a really sweet and romantic story that you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and with Buckeye Falls.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Welcome back to Buckeye Falls! In Forever to Fall the next one to fall is Mallory. Well actually she may have fallen years ago but never had her chance. The author tells her story in a way that shows wonderful character growth but also the main characters need to self-sacrifice even when it hurts.
Beckett is back. Well he just moved to Buckeye Falls and he knows this is where the one who got away lives. His grandfather’s dying wish was for him to get his girl. Easier said than done. 1st step: move to where she is. 2nd step: he hasn’t figured that out yet. Evan is the issue, he’s his best friend but also the brother of the woman he’s been pinning for, for years.
How can he go for what he wants?
Mallory is in a frenzy knowing Beckett just moved to her town. He’s the one he always has been, but he doesn’t feel the same way. Or so she thought. And then there’s the matter of Nana’s ring. A ring she always thought would be hers, but Evan wants it. Downside she takes the pain and says congratulations it’ll be perfect for Cece, all the while she’s emotionally destroyed inside. Not only does Beckett see it but her sister does too! Evan seems to be oblivious to notice. Just like he’s too oblivious to notice how she feels about his best friend.
Can her and Beckett coexist for those around them?
Will they always be awkward with one another?
Or will they finally take the chance they’ve always wanted?
It’s a wonderful addition to the series. A series of books that are great to read in succession. However each one works as a standalone novel as well. I will say this though, once you read one you’ll want to read them all!

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago Book 2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my. This one gets into the heat quick and then builds. I have read several of Anise Storm’s books and I will always choose her work as a go to. While the first book in this series was friends to lovers, this one was a one-night stand, turned student professor forbidden love. Dual perspective of Callum and Nicole.
Callum is a thirty-year-old Titan of Chicago. A summer vacation to Costa Rica before he began his second year, first full year, teaching at the University of Chicago he attends an ayahuasca ceremony. His goal to learn more about himself. Nicole is a twenty-one-year-old senior in college. Breaking family tradition, she transfers from Stanford to the University of Chicago for her senior year and to intern at her uncle’s company which is in her field of study. She is the belle of a Titan and the niece of one. While finishing up her vacation in Costa Rica before her senior year she attends an ayahuasca ceremony to find out who she is. The moment they meet they are drawn to each other and a single night of desire follows them back to the states. Only fast forward, first day of classes and he is her Senior Lit professor, and she is his student. They both are flooded with memories and wants that no longer can be possible. But he’s not the only one watching and wanting Nicole.
Who wants to take Nicole from him? Will they succeed in taking down a Titan? What will come of the other man/student in Nicoles orbit? Everything about this series makes you want more. Makes you hold your breath with each new chapter and turn of the page as the story unfolds. I cannot wait to see what Titan’s story we will get next. Book three, Dangerously Yours, February 18th, 2025. I’ll see you there.

Mallory and Beckett have secretly been in love with each other since they were kids, but Mallory’s brother Evan is also Beckett’s best friend, and now that they’ve grown, neither wants to upset Evan. When Beckett moves back home after his grandpa’s death, he hopes he can win Mallory over, but there are some things that get in the way. This was such a sweet small town, childhood love, second chance romance and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago Series) by Anise Storm – Review by Jessica Stone

So this is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm and like the first book in the series this one did not disappoint! While it think with any series it is important for world and character building to read the previous books in the series, I believe that you could read this as a standalone if you’d like. Im sure by the end of this book you’d be going back to read the first anyways.

This book is about Nicole, whose father and brother are titans. And our MMC is Callum, a titan through and through.
Nicole born in raised in a family with a imagine to uphold, she’s the nice girl, who does everything right and before she goes to college due to some cajoling from her mother, she takes a trip to Costa Rica with some friends and takes a chance one evening, letting go and just being herself and that’s where she meets callum.

Callum is a titan and a college professor, who has a chance meeting with Nicole one evening where he invites her back to his villa to party, one thing leads to another and Nicole and Callum hit it off with no expectation and thinking after that night they would never see each other again. The last thing Callum expected was to see the girl from the mind blowing one night stand as a student in the lit class he teaches.

The chemistry between these two is FIRE, red hot, grab a glass of water, fan my face worthy. I couldn’t ask for a better set of main characters, while I wasn’t the biggest fan of Callum at first, that changed the more I read and got to know the character and his story.

I’m a pretty big fan of a will they/will they not, the angst and I can never get enough of a jealous man who’s fighting his attraction but ends up giving in. So this basically fed all of my book needs. I am pretty excited to see what this author puts out next as far as the titans books go, I’ve been more than satisfied with books one and two so I’m oh so impatiently waiting for book 3.

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago Book 2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read Deceptively Yours and loved it, so you know I had to read Forbiddenly Yours! This book has such good tropes: TeacherxStudent, secret relationship, forbidden love, and the spice *muah!* Chefs kiss! When I say this book is spicy… it is spicy!!! There is no waiting for it either, which is the best part!

Nicole- Father, uncle, and brother are all Titans and know about the world. She has a hot and steamy one-night stand with Callum in Costa Rica thinking she wouldn’t see the person again. When she enters her English lit class the teacher just so happens to be Mr. One Night Stand and the mind f*cking starts, pun intended! She pushes his button in many ways from being argumentative to making him jealous by getting too close to a classmate.

Callum- Titan who is in his second year as a teacher at the college Nicole transfers to. At first he tries to push his thoughts about Nicole away, even telling her it can’t happen again and demanding she drops his class, but that ends up going all down the drain. Even though he knows he can’t publicly claim her, he doesn’t want anyone else to either.

This was such a great read that I couldn’t put the book down! I can’t wait until the next book in the series comes out!!!

Forever to Fall by Libby Kay, is the 5th book in the buckeye fall series. This is an Amazing book, Beckett is a funny relatable guy who is messy, clumsy, funny, and very relatable. Mallory is very much a homebody and is very much obsessed with French bread pizzas. Together I got to deep dive into their friendship and story on how they met each other and became friends. Their relationship that had some bumps. Libby masterfully weaves this story together and created an amazing story making me laugh out loud on multiple occasions and I may have kicked my feet, it’s so cute. And as cute as it was sometimes I wanted to shake them, Libby got me so engrossed in the story I found it very difficult to put down and I would read it again.

Bijou Augustine is a woman who is struggling to keep her life and business together which has become harder each year since she lost the love of her life, but now she is reaching breaking point. As the youth centre she has poured her heart and soul into becomes more of a burden than a blessing, she has to endure the embarrassment of cold calling for donations and suffer the rejection which people dish out without a care for the person on the other end of the phone.

While she is dealing with this, her teenage daughter is full of the joys of puberty including mood swings and arguments, but there are beams of light when she sometimes says the odd nice thing or comes up with a good idea. Fortunately for Bijou, her daughter finally takes some initiative and this helps more than she could ever expect when a phone call comes through with a deep, rumbling voice at the other end who just so happens to also be a repair man.

This one phone call could be the answer to her prayers, especially when she meets this mountain of a man for the first time and is immediately put at ease by his agreement to help out with fixing up the youth centre. The only issue is that he doesn’t want any money for it, this is compounded by the fact that he is the first man that Bijou has even found attractive since her husband passed, but she is awkward and can sense that he is healing too.

Will Bijou be able to save her centre and figure out how she feels about her tall, dark and extremely handsome repair man, all while trying to come up with a plan to save her and her husband’s life’s work? This is a sweet romance with a little spice thrown in where secrets come into light as prayers for the end of struggles are made, all while hope blossoms in this story of finding love after loss.

This was a cute clean romance that I enjoyed from page one. Even though this is the 5th book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. The characters are interconnect but the author wrote this well enough that you’re not left thinking you’re missing something from previous books.
This was a childhood friends to lovers story and I absolutely adored the mcs. They’re thrown together for family wedding festivities and starks fly. They keep things secret for a while but learn that having a secret in a small town is very hard. I was rooting for them the entire time and happy they got their HEA.
I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!

Anise Storm has done it again with this second book in the Titans of Chicago series! Not only does she bring the heat of romance, but she also has intrigue and suspense to accompany the plot. I love that she takes the time to develop the characters into such realistic, well-rounded people and puts them into situations that could happen in reality. The descriptions of college life on campus, and the interactions between fellow college students and the teachers are spot on. This book will grab your attention the moment the two main characters meet on a vacation retreat. I love that this series doesn’t just focus on the lead male roles of the Titans, but it showcases how strong the women are in the family as well. This book has so many crazy surprises that will have you gritting your teeth as you progress through the story. Read on to find out if Callum and Nicole can make their student/teacher romance work or if they are doomed to fail right from the start. Happy reading everyone, until next time my friends! I’m on the hunt to find my next great read!

Bijou is a widow left to raise her daughter alone in a small town after suffering the loss of her husband. His dream was to run a youth center in his town, and Bijou is struggling to continue to receive enough donations in order to keep it open to honor him.

Noah is a widow left to raise his son after his wife was killed by a drunk driver – he ran to the mountains of the same small town to escape the media when they realized who he was and continued to hound him after the death of his wife. He was also a friend of Bijou’s husband, Eli.

As Bijou struggles, she reaches out to Noah out of desperation to see if he can help make a repair in the center due to being Eli’s friend. Noah agrees, and then notices how many other things need repairs while he’s there. The chemistry that is pulling them together like a magnet inspires Noah to offer his time and help to her free of charge, and he can’t seem to make himself stay away from her. As the story progresses, it takes us through many highs and lows as they navigate life as single parents, life as widows, and life as they are brought together to a person who feels so much like their other half.

Fantastic world-building, story-writing, character development…I’m a big fan!

This author is definitely on my list of books to pick up without a second thought as they create some incredible stories. This is the fourth book in The Predator series, and just like the others, it doesn’t disappoint. Bijou was a fantastic character who felt more like a friend than a character in a story. Noah is the perfect book boyfriend! The chemistry between them leaps off the pages, and I found myself fully invested in them immediately. This story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster with twists and turns throughout. I may have shed a few tears here and there, but there is also plenty of romance and spice! If you enjoy contemporary romances with steamy scenes that don’t overtake the plot, this is a great place to start. Although you can read this as a standalone, you will likely circle back to the entire series because you won’t be able to get enough. I can’t wait to see what other must-reads this author has in store for us!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in The Predator Series. Once again we are taken on an emotional journey dealing with loss, grief, and learning to love again. This book could be read as a standalone however I thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series. The author has an incredible way of writing characters that the reader can emotionally connect with which makes the stories even more powerful.

In this story we meet Bijou Augustine and Noah. Both of our main character have been dealt blows by losing the love of their lives and now they are learning to rebuild their lives.
Bijou was left widowed and looking after her daughter all while trying to run the children’s centre that her late husband started. Time are hard, the centre needs so many repairs and Bijou can’t afford to do them. However she doesn’t want to let go of the last connection to her deceased husband. Since his passing Bijou’s life has revolved around the centre and her daughter, romance has never really played a part of been a thought until she meets Noah.

Noah has moved to the small town hoping for a fresh start. After losing his wife in an accident Noah has shit himself off from the world and pushed people away. However when he goes to do some work at a children’s centre in his new town he can’t deny the attraction towards the owner Bijou. Will he be able to let his walls down and maybe have a second chance at love or will he push her away like everyone else?
And how will Bijou react when secrets are revealed will it bring them closer together or push them further apart?
Can they work together to save the Children’s centre or will Bijou lose the dream her deceased husband worked so hard for.

  • This is an emotional story about dealing with loss and fighting for a second chance at happiness.

With an upcoming wedding these two are thrown into maid of honor and best man duties that brings them closer together. They find themselves dating in secret. Mallory Lawson “married” her friend Beckett in a pretend wedding fifteen years ago. Beckett was her brothers best friend. As they grew older, they grew apart and life happened. Now Beckett Fox is back dealing with what to now do with his life, but he knows one thing, he wants Mallory back in it. Beckett is certain Mallory is his one, but there is a hurdle, is best friend. Can Mallory and Beckett have their second chance and find their happily after?

The one thing I really appreciate with the Buckeye Falls series is the characters are down to earth. Reading the faux wedding of sweet youth was delightful. Mallory has been so busy with her career life has gone by, perfectly paired with Beckett. Another great read from this author.

I’ve been eyeing this series for quite some time and finally decided to give it a try on the last one in the series. I will admit I was a bit nervous jumping into the series at the final but honestly I do not regret it! I definitely plan on reading the entire series now from the beginning. This story centers on Mallory and Beckett, who were once childhood sweethearts but with time and distance, move on with their lives but somehow emotions were deeply buried. Now into adulthood, Mallory’s brother has just announced he is marrying Cece and she ends up being the Maid of Honor along with the Best Man, Beckett. The close union brings them together along with the memories of what they once were. I absolutely love how the admiration is focused in this story but seeing how all of these characters are intertwined and their involvement and love within this small town of Buckeye Falls. Great and very entertaining read!

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Libby Kay has done it again. This can be read as a standalone, or with the series, which is great! A great love story with an emotionally roller coaster. Great read!

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5) by Libby Kay – Review by Rebecca Hill

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is number 5 in the Buckeye Falls series. This book can completely be read as a stand alone. I have read all the other books in the series, and I really enjoyed the continuation of characters. For the most part, books in this series have centered around a set of two main characters with characters from previous books set as supporting cast. I love reading more about all them! This book is the story about Mallory Dawson and Beckett Fox. Mallory has loved Beckett for as long as she can remember. She has learned to live without him. When he moves back to Buckeye Falls, she doesn’t know if she can continue to live without him. Unbeknownst to her, Beckett is also in love with her. It was a sweet story about the two of them finding their way to each other. I’m not sure that I believe in love at first sight at all, much less in kids, but I still enjoyed the book. Worth the time to read as a story and as a series.
