Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago Series) by Anise Storm – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago, #2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbiddenly Yours is the 2nd book in the serious and was a such a great, hot read.
Nicole is on vacation and decides to act alittle out of character for her. Callum is also on vacation. And they end up meeting and having a deliciously hot night together expecting to never see eachother again especially since they live nowhere near eachother. When Nicole moves to Chicago to attend school, everyone is surprised to see her new English professor is the hot guy she spent the night with in Costa Rica. Neither can forget the night they shared. Callum is a Titan and he always gets what he wants. He wants Nicole!! He doesn’t realize Nicole’s father and Uncle are also Titans and will never allow him near her.
Callum and Nicole start to see eachother in private but, it’s not so private when her stalker finds out and uses the information to his advantage. Callum is set up and made out to be her stalker. Will Nicole finally realize that Callum is the good guy in her life and he would never willingly hurt her? This was a steamy book with the student / teacher storyline. All books by this author have been amazing and this is no different.

Back in the Ring (The Predator #4)Back in the Ring by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Back in the ring is part 4 of the series and it’s definitely a 5 star read. In this book, there will be parts of characters from previous books in the series and I recommend reading them In order to prevent spoilers. Noah has just moved to a new town after losing his wife in a tragic accident. Bijou and her late husband opened up a youth center that is now become hard to Maintain and keep running. The center needs a lot of work and donations haven’t been coming in as they have in previous years.
When Noah offers to help Bijou with repairs free of charge, she doesn’t know what to think. She is attracted to him as soon as she met him but, she tries not to let that secret out. Will these two be able to have a relationship after the heartbreak they both endured ? Will the center be able to remain open or will Bijou have to close the doors on her late husbands dream? Definitely a great addition to the series.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5) by Libby Kay – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls, #5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forever to Fall is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series. Each book in this series is a romance focusing on a different pair of people in the Buckeye Falls community. With her brother Evan’s wedding approaching, Mallory is worried about the lifetime of spinsterhood that seems to lie ahead of her. Her childhood sweetheart coming back to town, and preparing to be her brother’s best man, complicates her feelings further.

Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but reading them in order will let you get to know the characters as they are introduced. I like seeing the couples from previous books enjoying their lives together further down the line!

Although the romance is at the centre of this book, I love all the friendships around the sides. Mallory, Evan and Beckett have a friendship going back decades with lots of fun traditions. As she struggles with her feelings, Mallory leans on friends like Alice and CeCe.

Beckett’s family farm provides a lovely setting for much of the story, including the childhood memories he shares with Mallory and Evan. It’s also a space that holds a lot of grief for him after losing his grandparents, so part of the story is him learning how to navigate his changing relationship with the place.

This is a comforting and fun read. I’d recommend it to fans of romances built on foundations of strong friendships. It gets five stars from me!

Back in the Ring (The Predator #4)Back in the Ring by Brooke May

Back in the Ring by Brooke May is an awesome feel-good story! Brooke May never disappoints with any of her books! So, we are introduced to the main character named Bijou and we find out that she has lost Elijah who was her everything, and unfortunately leaves her alone with their daughter, Claire. Bijou has enough on her plate and Claire, who is going through a rough stage, isn’t making it easy for her mom. Bijou and Elijah had a dream…and now Bijou doesn’t know if she can keep maintaining that dream with a defiant child on her hands. Of course, like life usually does, Bijou is thrown a curveball when Noah unexpectedly turns up in her life. Bijou has enough to deal with in her life, and a sexy man like Noah isn’t helping her! Little does Bijou know that Noah is her saving grace in more than one aspect, will Bijou be able to keep her cool around Noah and stay friends only, or Bijou give into her body’s wants? This is the fourth book in The Predator series, and I can only imagine how all of the other books are, I am definitely going to go back and read all of the books before this one. Brooke, I love your books…keep them coming! Hopefully, y’all will pick up a copy and read for yourself…you can either be like me and read books out of order or read the series in order…. either way, I don’t think you will be one bit disappointed!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in this series but can be read as a standalone. Even though this book can be read as a standalone I still recommend reading the other books in this series because they are all good reads. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. This story has love, loss, second chances, chemistry, drama, great characters, and so much more. This book kept me glued to the pages which made for a quick read. I found myself completely invested in Bijou and Noah’s story. Can they move on from their past traumas to love again? Will Bijou be able to keep the youth center running? These are things you will find the answers to when you dive into this enjoyable story. I recommend this book and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

I absolutely LOVE this author and this series is yet another creation from this absolutely AMAZING author that will captivate you right from the very start! The characters and storylines are always so well crafted you will be drawn in and feel everything right along with them. Start from the beginning for the series because you won’t want to miss a single thing. I also highly recommend Ms Storms Titans of Manhattan series.

Back in the Ring (The Predator #4)Back in the Ring by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was quite literally frothing at the mouth to get into this read and back into the ring ( pardon the play on my words )

Oh my word I was an emotional wreck at the prologue so again I had to warn those close to me that I would be emotionally and physically unstable and unavailable for a day or so 🙈🤷‍♀️❣️📚

Bijou and Elijah were soul mates and they had a beautiful little girl Claire and they worked hard and had their dream of a starting a youth centre but fate dealt them a tragic hand and Bijou and Claire were left without their hero and now bijou is living life for Claire and things aren’t easy especially trying to keep the centre afloat , my heart aches for with each door that closes on her but just as we’re about to loose hope there’s light at the end of the tunnel ! There’s a lot of pressure to sell the centre and I get it but I also feel Bijou’s heart and kept rooting for her …also she’s so easy to relate with as a mom and the battles we have to “endure” with our kids 🥰

Mara , is Bijou’s bestie , she’s a real hoot and a bestie any girl would want , her new neighbour , Noah is sooooooo hot , single and raising his son , Noah on his own so Mara is already playing matchmaker in her mind and Claire will be babysitting for him so who know what can happen ( I’m sooooo excited )

Oh my gosh Noah could leave mother superior in a melted puddle and questioning her vows ( no disrespect intended) and little Holden is such a cutie 🥰 Claire is so good with as well , just makes my heart flutter , she looks at him like a little brother not someone in her care 🥰

Noah and Mara share the pain of loosing their other half and they get each other but they also know they deserve another chance at happiness , a chance at life , together …..

Noah , Holden , Bijou , Claire , friends and family have a very special place in my heart and waiting for each instalment is torture , when I’m not with them I miss them 🥰

Malice (Demented Souls Series) by Melissa Stevens – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Malice (Demented Souls #10)Malice by Melissa Stevens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Malice was a very good read. Bonnie had recently ended a relationship with a guy named Phillip but, he kept showing up and one night at a diner, he tried to force her to come with him. Luckily for Bonnie, Malice ( Corey ) was at the right place at the right time. He helped her when she needed a stranger to step in and help her. They ended up exchanging numbers and he told Bonnie to let him know if she ever needed his help again considering he didn’t think Phillip was going to give up that easy.
Of course one morning when Bonnie was leaving for work, she walked out of her apartment to find her car was vandalized. She called the cops and then called Corey and told him what happened. He showed up and took her back to the ranch with him for her protection. Corey and Bonnie continued to get close living together and of course Phillip still hadn’t given up. He turns to illegal actions when he kidnaps her in the middle of the day. Will Corey be able to find her before he hurts her to badly?
This was a really good book and I enjoyed it from the very beginning. It was sort of a forced proximity romance due to some domestic violence. Definitely something you don’t want to miss out on.

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago Book 2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While on vacation Nicole meets Callum while on vacation, they spend a few steamy days and nights together believing they will never see each other again. Callum is shocked when Nicole shows up in his class where he teaches, he wants her to withdraw from class but Nicole is insistent that they can maintain a professor/teacher professionalism. It isn’t long before the spark between them ignites but it is a secret to everyone else they know. Someone knows though and they are intent to make sure they break apart but who is behind it and what do they really want?

Sizzling chemistry, really liked this one. Callum is a bit selfish I thought, but he is a Titan and used to having what he wanted and not really having to veer off of what he wants to do. Really liked Nicole and was loving how she pushed back on Callum. Every book I have read by this talented author has been remarkable, can’t wait for more.

Nicole has always been a good girl. Being the daughter of a Titan she has an image to uphold. While in Costa Rica she decides to let loose and be rebellious before school starts. She meets Callum and they have an incredible night together, never thinking they would see each other again. When she walks into class on the first day she finds that her one night stand is her new professor. Callum himself is a Titan and he always gets what he wants. He wants Nicole and he will stop at nothing to have her. However there is someone else that has his eye on Nicole and that could ruin everything. I have enjoyed both books in this series so far. You don’t need to read these in order but it does help in getting to know characters that were in the first book and those that may be in future stories. If you enjoyed this book and haven’t checked out her other series, Titans of New York, I highly suggest checking them out.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbiddingly Yours is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm. I have read all the Titans of New York series by this author so when I saw this book I thought I would give it a go. I have not read book 1 yet (I will) but you do not need to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. The story starts with a chance meeting between Callum and Nicole, after the brief time they spend together neither expect to see each other again. When Nicole turns up in Callum’s classroom on the first day of term, they are both surprised. They try to keep away from one another as Callum is Nicole’s professor, but they are drawn together. I really liked this book, as with the others in the series they protagonists love is not straight forward and is disrupted by outside forces, but it was a very steamy and gripping story. It moved at a good pace, and I liked the characters, looking forward to reading more about Callum’s fellow Titans in the next book.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is another sweet addition to a great series. It can be read as a standalone, but all of them are worth the time! This book is about Mallory and Beckett, childhood sweethearts who are given a second chance at love. I loved watching them reconnect and build something so strong and sweet between them. They are the kind of couple that I wanted to make things work because I felt like they deserved their happy ending.
This book is as well written and engaging as the other books in the series. The author has such a lovely writing style, the books flow with such an ease. This is a great story, and a great series, and one I would definitely recommend.

I only recently read the first book in this series so I was excited to get my hands on this one so soon. This book is a brilliant addition to the series and I think has to be my favourite so far – although it is early days! I loved the connection between the main characters. Their relationship is completely forbidden and yet the pull between them was so strong.
The storyline was just as intense. It felt like they had such a tumultuous journey and it had me hooked from start to finish. I have loved everything I have read by this author and this book is no exception. This is a brilliant book and I cannot wait for more.

Though this is book 2 you could read this as a standalone. But I would recommend reading book 1 first so you can get the character background.

Nicole and Callum have a chance meeting in Costa Rica and have a hot and steamy one night stand. Thinking their paths would never cross again. Though each of them couldn’t get the other off their minds.

Summer break is over and back to school/work they both go. Shocker that the first day of Callum’s new job is the first day of Nicole’s Senior Year at UChicago, where Callum is a professor. Both shocked on first day of class discovering that he is her professor.

They finally give into their desires and even trying to keep it secret. All while Nicole’s classmate Travis is doing everything to make Callum jealous! Will them keeping things secret workout? Will they end up losing it all and being found out? Will Travis win Nicole over?

Read on to find out… you won’t be able to put it down once you start!

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forever to Fall is the fifth instalment of Libby Kay’s Buckeye Falls series, and it follows childhood friends Beckett and Mallory, who reunite after the tragic loss of Beckett’s grandfather. I loved the previous book so I was really excited to read this one. The prologue was adorable, so well written and gripping. Beckett and Mallory are clearly soulmates, as are Beckett’s grandparents whose love story was beautiful. I loved seeing Alice and James again, and how the childhood best friends to lovers/will they won’t they was executed. It was hard to read the part where Beckett goes out with Cece’s friend, despite understanding why he wanted to keep his feelings from Evan. I also think it would’ve hit harder if Cece’s friend was a pleasure to be around and we could see how he still preferred to be with Mallory. But either way, it’s clear they are the only person for each other. My favourite character was Mallory. I recommend this book because it is a beautiful friends to lovers story. ‘Trying—six little letters strung together for maximum impact.’

Anise Storm does it again! I love this series and cannot wait to finish the rest. This one has a professor/student relationship trope and is very steamy. After having a one-night stand while on vacation, Nicole’s whole world is turned on its axis after realizing that this man is her new English professor. We witness many ups and downs between them and a mind blowing plot twist that will shake you to your core. My only reason for not giving this story five stars is the lack of character development. I could not completely connect to them, their situation, and the storyline in this regard, and their conversations just do not seem realistic.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the fifth, and final, in the “Buckeye Falls” series. Earlier in the series we were introduced to Mallory, sister to Evan, who works for Max in the town diner. This book tells Mallory’s story. Mallory and Beckett were childhood sweethearts who reconnect in adulthood. They struggle to find a way to be together as adults and often wonder if their relationship is even possible.
I read the previous four books in this series. I think readers could enjoy this book without reading the rest of the series, but I found it more enjoyable and easier to follow the characters’ story lines since I read the previous books. I absolutely love this series! I am so happy we have a story for Mallory now. The characters of Buckeye Falls (a fictional Ohio town), are absolutely endearing. The families are warm and loving, though they also sometimes pick on one another. The friendships are heartfelt and genuine.
Mallory is such a sweetheart, and often indecisive. It seems like her to be unsure of how to proceed with Beckett. I found the ups and downs of their relationship sometimes frustrating. I couldn’t put this book down, though. I couldn’t wait to find out if they made it work. I love the romantic gestures between the characters. This book focuses more on the relationship building than sex scenes, and I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet romantic tale, especially one with twists and turns.

Forever to Fall is the fifth and final instalment in the Buckeye Falls series by Libby Kay. This was a bit of a bittersweet read, as I really wanted Mallory and Beckett’s story, but wasn’t ready to leave Buckeye Falls yet.
This is a second chance, small town contemporary romance- with childhood sweethearts reunited, secret dating, sparks, drama, a wonderful cast of endearing characters, connection, emotion, family, friendship, and a bit of a forced proximity situation. It is a ‘clean’ romance- suitable for those who prefer their romances on the sweet and less spicy side.
This has a few different tropes happening in it, but they all blend together into a wonderful story. From brother’s best friend/best friends little sister to a secret relationship, with forced proximity (and more)- this story has all the ingredients to keep you turning the pages
Even though this is the fifth and final book in the series, it can be read as a standalone if you wanted, as each instalment focuses on its own particular couple. But, having said that, there is a cast of recurring characters who really add to the overall reading experience, and are really worth getting to know. So, I recommend starting at the beginning, if you haven’t already- because all the books together equals lots of fun!
As expected, Ms. Kay knows how to weave a heart-warming story – and even though I’m sad to be leaving Buckeye Falls, I am excited to see what she has in store for us next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Libby Kay!

This is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series. This story follows Nicole and Callum. Nicole is a college student on vacation before school starts back up. Callum is a college professor. These two hook up for a one-night stand. Little did either of them know that he would be her teacher. The chemistry was too much for either to bare, so they were together in secret. Only, someone wants to ruin him and will stop at nothing to expose them.

Bijou’s backstory made my heart hurt for her. It’s hard to keep living when the one you love passes away. Even though it was 8 years ago grief has a funny way of showing up. Especially while trying to keep a youth center running and raising a 12 year old on top of everything. Noah also has lost a loved one and raising his two year old son. Both trying to find their way back to normal. As Bijou struggles to keep the place running one phone call she makes changes her life. Noah comes into the picture to lend a helping hand. This gruff man is pretty amazing but guarded. The kids definitely were great supporting characters, they made me giggle when all I wanted to do was cry. Although, secrets never stay secret for long. Will Noah’s blow up in his face????

Forbiddenly Yours is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm. As mentioned in my review for the previous book, this series is a (new) spin-off from Titans of Manhattan books, this time set in Chicago.
Forbiddenly Yours is a romantic suspense with a forbidden/secret relationship element, plenty of drama, miscommunication angst, emotion, tension, chemistry, sparks, intrigue, and is told from a dual POV.
This starts with a Costa Rican holiday fling- that turns somewhat awkward when they come face to face again- as teacher and student. Can they keep things professional and keep their chemistry from boiling over? What happens when secrets are revealed. Well, there will be no spoilers from me, so you will need to read all the dramatic developments for yourself.
The story comes with trigger warnings – so if you have any issues, you might want to check them out before diving in.
I hate to say it, but this is not my favourite of Ms. Storms books, I just wasn’t ‘feeling it’ this time around….. Let’s see what Book #3 holds.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Anise Storm!

This was a great 5 star read. This series continues to pull me in with each Titans story. This is Nicole and Callum’s story and it was great. The chemistry between them came off the pages. What was thought to have been a fling on vacation quickly turns into more when Nicole moves to Chicago. She is shocked to see who her professor is but they both quickly realize they can’t resist each other. There are several twists that added great elements to the story. All of the characters were great. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more from this series. Im telling you it’s always a pleasure reading work from this author. The writing is sharp and dynamic, capturing the raw energy of the fights and the personal struggles of the characters with equal skill. The fight scenes are particularly well-executed. That mixed in with Bijou and Noahs character development and their romantic drama add depth to the story, making it more than just a series of high-octane battles. I can’t wait to read the next book. This is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series, but is no less easy to fall into and want to not put down. Mallory Lawson has been in love with Beckett Fox, her younger brother’s best friend, since they were kids. Beckett is trying to cope with the recent loss of his grandfather, who raised Beckett from a young age, alongside Beckett’s grandmother, after Beckett’s parents’ divorce. While Beckett tries to piece his life together now without two of the most important people in his world in it, he gravitates back to Mallory and her brother, Evan for friendship and comfort. When Evan gets engaged, and uses the ring that belonged to Mallory’s grandmother and had been used in a pretend wedding between Mallory and Beckett when they were children, Mallory struggles with the situation, because while she loves her brother and soon to be sister-in-law, she had always held out hope of Beckett proposing with that same ring. When Beckett gets injured, Mallory swoops in to help him recover, giving them a chance to reconnect after all the times things haven’t gone right in the past, the couple finally find their happily ever after. This book is a GHEA with characters you will come to love. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but the whole series is too amazing to miss!

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Forever to Fall is Book 5 in the Buckeye Falls Series…I love how I fell like I am part of the Buckeye Falls family. Libby has created this wonderful sense of small town community that I want to be part of….seeing each character develop in this series, you become invested from the beginning of the first book to the end of this book. I love the heartwarming, small town romance full of family, love, friendships, trust and a little bit of secrets.

Mallory and Beckett knew each other since childhood and there has always been this spark between them…but nothing came about since Mallory’s brother, Evan is Beckett’s best friend. Mixing friendship and romance was off the table and feelings were suppressed between Mallory and Beckett. When Beckett moves back to Buckeye Falls…so many things are happening between family memories, being the best man in a wedding but also the feelings of Mallory coming back into his life….will Beckett and Mallory get their HEA that they deserve…..

Definitely read and find out…I very highly recommend reading this entire series in order..I have loved every book in this series. This may well be the last book but I always look forward to seeing what Libby may have in store for me next to enjoy!!

This book is book one in the Rockstars Series, and I can’t wait to read the rest of them. We first meet Lucy and her cousin, Sera, they are 17 and in an airport waiting for a delayed flight. They never expected to meet a member of their favorite rock band, Jessie Kingston. While Lucy is nervous and confused, Sera handles it well and they all board their flights. Years later, Lucy, who is now an actress, and Sera, who is a model, are slated to work on a music video without knowing who they’re working with. They are surprised to learn that they are working with Jessie and his band. The sparks fly almost immediately, and Lucy and Jessie begin dating, while Sera and Lucy decide to start a whole new career. This is a GHEA with a lot of sex and a good bit of cursing, but also a lot of heart and characters you grow to care a good deal about.
