I happened upon Ways to Improve Bailey, from a recommendation. This romance was light-hearted and funny. Bailey has a snarky sassiness, that I loved. Tanner, who is a more matter-of-fact guy, complements Bailey. While Bailey does not really want to go on a date with Tanner in the beginning, she reluctantly takes a chance. When Bailey realizes there is more to Tanner than she thought, she realizes maybe she can improve. If you are looking for a fast-paced, witty rom-com I recommend this book.

I enjoyed reading this cute story about Bailey and her things that she needs to improve on. Her brother keeps adding to the list. What will happen when she goes on a date with the weirdest guy? He isn’t as she expects and now has her thinking about the improvements that she has been ignoring. I enjoyed her character and what she brought to the story. I enjoyed watching her growth as well throughout the story. Will she make the improvements or will she just stay as she is? This is a well written story where the author used details to give the story a realistic feel. It is fast paced and engaging as well. You don’t want to miss what happens to Bailey. I highly recommend this book.

Ways to Improve Bailey is a slow burn, wholesome, and clean romance story with some elements of humor and witty banter. It is clever, original, and has an intriguing storyline that will have you reading until the end. There are many moments when you might find yourself giggling out loud as well. The characters are quirky, brilliantly written, and lovable. Bailey is a typical teenager who is tired of hearing how her brother thinks that she needs to improve herself. Being as sassy and smart as she is, she feels that she has no imperfections that need to be worked on. Her brother, on the other hand, has a list of the improvements that he feels that she needs. Then her brother has the nerve to set her up with the weird guy Tanner from the yogurt shop and that might be the final straw. But, as luck, or fate, would have it, the more time she spends with Tanner, the more that Bailey starts to like him. Now, she must decide if her brother has actually been right, and she does need some improvements after all.
I loved this unique and wholesome Rom Com and found the story interesting. I loved the family element and how the siblings interacted with one another. I adored Bailey’s feisty attitude and how she was okay with who she was and did not feel she needed to change. It was amusing that her brother had an entire list of what he felt her imperfections were. A cute and entertaining read.

I absolutely adored this story! It was a very clean and sweet YA Rom Com, that is full of heart and laughter. I loved all of the characters; the author did a great job of creating multidimensional characters. I especially loved her older brother Dayton, he comes off as the annoying older brother, picking on his little sister, but as the story unfolds, we see how much he really does love his little sister and wants what is best for her. Tanner was such an amazing character, seeing his character development and his patience with Bailey was the cutest thing. Bailey was a great female heroine, she was spunky and sassy, but when it mattered, she was kind and caring. Seeing her and Tanner work through so many different situations was absolutely delightful! I loved the background of the Froyo store, definitely made me think about my froyo toppings! This was a wonderful story and I can’t wait to read more from the author.

Ways to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper was such a fun book to read. I have loved Cori Coopers other books that I’ve read, so I happily clicked a copy of this as soon as it released and dove right in. It is a light, sweet, fun, and fresh YA romantic comedy with humour, emotion, teen angst & drama, a slow-burn clean romance, self-discovery/self-acceptance, friendship, family, hopes, fears, entertaining developments, becoming more self-aware, and not judging a book by its cover. This story certainly took me by surprise, in a great way and has just taken top place as my favourite of Ms. Cooper’s work. As expected, this is a cleverly woven story that proved to be a very fun way to spend a couple of hours. I love Ms. Cooper’s ability to create wonderfully quirky and endearing characters- as they are so easy to connect with. I also enjoyed seeing Bailey grow/mature and develop over the course of the story. I though the list of ‘ways to improve Bailey’ was such a fun notion- and it certainly added to the entertainment. I loved that each chapter is headed by one of the suggested ways she could improve. Looking forward to more from Ms. Cooper! Happy Reading…

I really enjoyed this slow burn romance. The author does a great job of making it engaging and making the characters likeable. This story has some great moments that really made me laugh and it is full of twists and turns so you never quite know what to expect.
I really enjoyed the growth of the characters especially Bailey. What starts out as a joke list by her brother of ways she can improve herself actually turns into her journey of finding herself and learning to be the best person she could be. I also enjoyed her relationship with Tanner. Even though she was reluctant to give him the time of day as the story progresses and she actually gets to know him she realises he is more compatible for her than she thinks. Just goes to show you can never judge a book by the cover which I think is a great lesson to teach people. I like how they complement each other and the grow together which was really nice to see.
Overall it was a lovely sweet romance which a lot of character growth which made the story even more engaging as you want to see how the characters are going to progress and grow.

Hilarious rom-com This original romcom had me laughing out loud way too much. The characters are likeable and Bailey grew so much over the course of the book. There is the kindhearted, compassionate & quirky guy and the self-doubting, sassy girl who have to find their balance to make things work which made this so more relatable. I really enjoy this authors work and can’t wait to see what she brings out next. Highly recommend.

Ways to Improve Bailey is a fun and not your usual YA Rom Com. It will have you laughing out loud. I love that Cori’s cleverly crafted stories are a little different, original and imaginative. It is fun and entertaining with loveable, quirky and flawed characters that bring the story to life especially Tanner and Bailey’s bestie Marci. This quirky slow burn romance will also have your taste buds salivating. Journey along as the characters work through real “first world problems” that YA’s have. There is humour, fears, drama, family, adventure and emotions. Bailey is sassy and has the usual raging teen angst and grumpiness which is perpetuated by her brothers ‘list’. It was good to watch her grow and come into herself. Admitting you have problems to be address is hard. YAs are going to enjoy reading about Bailey.

5 stars from me! Everything from sibling relationships and support systems to overcoming fears and personal growth, this book has it all.
Having her brother constantly telling her what she’s doing wrong and framing it as something their parents wanted him to do has Bailey exhausted and feeling like she’s never enough. But at the same time, he’s her brother and she loves him so she does it as to not disappoint him. Her best friend, Marnie, is there to support her but when she agrees that there’s area Bailey could work on, she knows some of them may be real.
I love the sibling dynamic between Bailey and Dayton. Especially how they look out for and respect one another while still getting on each others nerves, as siblings do. Bailey’s growth throughout the book and realizing certain things she was doing were to protect herself, which is very relateable.

Bake off is a great book for all ages. It gives delicious recipes, allowing you to bake right along side of Cat and her family.
In this book, Cat and her family travel back to Arizona to learn more about the family secrets. Cat knows what she can do, now she must know why she can do it. She is hoping this vacation will give her all the answers. While searching for answers, cat helps her family prepare for a local bake off with the surrounding bakeries. The girls go out and do some investigating, only to come up with a lot of information on the other bakers. Once again, the family finds our real quick what happens when you don’t “Bake Happy”.

This book has a little bit of magic and a whole lot of baking in it! It’s the perfect cross between a cookbook and a (mostly) relatable story. It captures your attention and gives you the recipe for everything they talk about!
This story follows Cat and her joy of baking explode – along with her love life. From making frozen meals to baking, Cat discovers not only who she is, but more about her family history as well. This is a great read and a great way to get yummy recipes!

I have always wanted to learn how to bake, so the title of this caught my attention.
Though I haven’t read the other novels in the series, I still enjoyed this novel.
Seeing people come together through baking, just makes me happy. No wonder people would bring over baked good to neighbors like I’ve seen in some movies. It conveys you were thinking of them and wanting them to feel welcomed in the neighborhood.
There is some drama with family curses being swapped and Cat trying to fix it before anything bad happens.
I will have to read the previous novels and this one again.

This is the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy. Bake Happy is a great book and so far the best one in the series. The author knows how to keep readers entertained.
Cat is back and ready for action. One minute she can bake happy feelings into her treats and now she can’t. Nate is the problem. Or is he? Maybe she’s the problem. The quote I chose for Cat is: “No! Robyn, I’m super pumped. I’m going to figure out how to get my baking back, and I’m going to bake the world a better place. Just like I promised Evie. And it’s going to work this time, I can feel it!”
This was a great way to end the series. I felt so many emotions while reading this book. The author really knows how to draw you into the story. The characters came to life more and more with each page. It made me want to do what really makes me happy in life. I highly recommend this book.

Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy. I read this book without reading books 1 and 2 in the trilogy. I wish I had read the other books first, but I still enjoyed this book on its own. I love the characters in this story! Cat and Robyn have an enviable cousin bond. I love that their families get together often and support both main characters. I like that the author included recipes to go with each chapter of the book. The ending wasn’t how I predicted the book would end, but it was a good ending to the story. Reading this book makes me want to go back and read the first two books. I would recommend this book for my junior high students to read, especially if they are interested in baking.

To say that Bake Happy is the perfect ending to Cat’s story is a bittersweet feeling for me. I continued to read and watch as Cat develop from this young girl to a young lady all through baking her heart into everything and a little of her Granny’s secrets. This book had me so crazily reading every word just to get to the end. I kept waiting for more and wanting to learn and bake just as Cat had! This character Arc and storyline had me completely thrown through a loop. One minute I was laughing, the next I was crying, the next I was happily munching on cookies (yes, I tried a recipe), happily flipping to the next page.
Cat Anderson is a sweet, kind, albeit sometimes very much an annoying teen, type of person. However, none of that deters her from loathing Nate. But when Cat and Nate are thrown together, by fate or baking (who knows), making wishes and hoping for something else both tie them together and draw them apart down. The suspense killed me. The ever-present giggly, quirky Cat turned more into a young lady and pleasantly surprised me more times than I can count.
I love how they deep-dive into emotion. Cat and her family, each person in their own way, walk through a plethora of emotions that are guiding and helping them figure out the morale behind baking emotions into their food. They really consider seriously every emotion and carefully extrapolate each one into the most delicious food. Sometimes for the better, some for the worse.
I like how Cat walks us through her journey and learns the differences between emotions.
I also really loved all the added recipes in this series. It’s a nice homey touch and it feels like I’m being let in on family secrets.
So much more perfect for this story.
I loved this series and recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh, a good cry, and a good family story.

I started to read this book with trepidation as I firmly believed quick read, but something too immature for me. I honestly did not think that I would want to read this fast to move on to something else. However, I was happily mistaken. I started to read this book and never put it down!
It starts off with Cat Anderson, newly graduated to 8th grade. She is so excited for the last day of summer before the first day of school. When she becomes entirely enamored with a pretzel, her life changes drastically. Cat being energetic, and quirky, doesn’t get phased by much. I mean, why should she? But when she bites into the pretzel from heaven from the new bakery, she knows her life will never be the same but she doesn’t know how.
It all comes together when she starts a culinary class in school she uncovers a magical mystical gift (or curse – according to her mother) that transfers her emotions into her cooking. What starts off as a simple story about a regular 8th grader turns into a cute and interesting story about a young girl coming into her own as she learns that her family has a magical, fantastical, yummy secret. It starts off with baking. Which is a huge deal in Cat’s family. I had to keep reading to find out the baking secret. I was not disappointed. now on to the next one!

Remember where we last saw Cat, Robyn, and their moms Bridget and Marissa? That’s okay – neither did I because I *oops* started to read book 3 before book 2 without realizing it and thought it was the Twilight Zone for a minute (okay for the time it took the chocolate lava cupcakes to cool 6 months into 8th grade).
So after I went back and read book 2 in the order it was MEANT to be read in, book 3 started making a whole lot more sense. The increasing difficulty of the recipes makes sense, too. I might even have more empathy for the contestants on baking challenges now that I’ve seen (errr read) how much effort it’s taken Cat to master some recipes that are deceptively challenging.
This book has a new twist that builds on the story of the last 2. I can’t possibly share spoilers that would ruin the whole adventure of Cat & her family’s amazing baking heritage; but I can assure you, these books are a delight and the recipe instructions are fantastic!
Looking forward to hearing more stories from Cori Cooper and incredibly thankful that such a fabulous author of Young Adult books is from Arizona! There’s no place like home, especially when it comes across so beautifully in stories.

Otherwise you’ll end up like I did – reading book 3 and wondering how you missed 6 months of Cat’s adventures while she’s baking chocolate lava cupcakes.
So when I realized I wasn’t reading the right book, it turned out EVEN BETTER when I DID start the right book. Because the recipes in book 2? They’re perfect for getting ready for autumn here in Arizona. Whether you love pumpkin or apple or something savory like Pretzel Bites this book is delicious and page 2 has us in Flagstaff.
I was about Cat & Robyn’s age when I first visited Arizona, so Cat’s first visit is extra amazing. And if you’re an adult choosing this book for a middle-school reader, well, try not to get defensive if you don’t agree with Cat about pumpkin everything.
And no matter how young or old you are, Cat’s description of drying her hands with microfiber towels is accurate on an almost molecular level. There’s no welcome mat as effective as having the same visceral reaction to a situation – even if you’re 30 years older than the character!
We are so fortunate to live in a world where stories help us unravel our values & beliefs. Cat & Robyn together with their immediate and extended family members give us 21st century parables (and awesome role models for healing generational wounds through communication and openness) without us even realizing that we’re learning something.

In 1 sentence that’s what grown ups need to know when choosing this series opener for the middle-school readers in their lives. Figuring out your role in the world can be complicated; this is like a more relatable version of Encanto – sorry no arepas recipes 😎 but there IS an awesome family rule: No Gremlin Faces!
I read this book trying to decide whether to give it to my 6th grader sobrina who loves baking & sports. At the outset, I wasn’t sure if the “cute boys” elements were going to be age appropriate for her, but the family, baking, and recipes definitely are. I’ll still leave it up to my comadre whether or not this series is okay “from Nina” or if it’s gotta wait til 8th grade. What’s really cool especially for my sobrina is that the author was raised in Arizona.
Also the author has the best descriptions – both for moms AND middle schoolers!
“From the look on my mom’s face, a person would think I just told her I stole an endangered monkey from the zoo and turned it into a robot, obsessed with eighties music.” Who doesn’t know THAT look from her mom 😹😎
If you’re giving these to a middle schooler with younger siblings, add on Pete the Cat & the Missing Cupcakes for preschoolers or Mrs. Pigglewiggle vintage stories for grade-schoolers.
(Also for funsies, I watched Junior Bake-off on Netflix while I was preparing to read these so I was already thinking youthful happiness)

I have read this author’s Bake Believe and had really liked the concept of introducing baking along with some YA drama. It was nice reading Cat and her baking adventures again. Teenager with magical baking abilities , Cat is happy and confident. She wants to make the world a better place with baking, at class parties and family meal times. But well, when we think we have got everything under control, things turn upside down. A wish is made, which turns her life upside down and changes her life forever. Can she ever bake happy again? It is a fun and lighthearted read, I really enjoy these books, I get a lot of recipes to bake as well.

I have enjoyed every single installment of this series! While yes this series is geared towards the teenage crowd even as an adult its a feel good, sit down and continue to flip the pages type read!
I do highly recommend the books be read in order! As you read the series the characters come to life. Cat is a fun loving, free spirit who embraces her gift and readers get to live the journey with her! Throughout the series I like that because these books were geared towards a certain audience, lessons could be learned in each book!

This was such a sweet story and a wonderful way to end the series. I just love how the titles of chapters have the recipe at the end of them! I am excited to give some of them a try! I found the story to be humorous and charming between the struggles of Cat and Nate. It definitely had a Freaky Friday or Wish Upon a Star feel to it, and it was wonderful seeing how they had to solve the problem and put everything back to rights. The story is definitely full of feel good fun and a wonderful story for not only teens and preteens, but adults too!
