This is the second book by the author I’ve had the pleasure of having. Although this is the first Audio Book I’ve had by her. Emily Ember is a great narrator and I loved it.
Naomi lives on the edge of the town cemetery. She loves living there and it gives her great help when it comes to writing. As an author she thrives on it. When she meets Maggie things go bad. She is determined to finish Maggie’s story. The quote I chose for Naomi is: “Give me a second and we’ll get going.”
Maggie is the ghost that is haunting Naomi. She wants…no she needs Naomi to figure out what happened. She needs Naomi to write her story; to finish her story. The quote I chose for Maggie is: “My story. Not much to tell. Sorry to disappoint you.”
Highly recommended for Crime lovers.

Maggie is a well written book that you can fully immerse yourself into. As you listen to the story you find yourself connecting with the different character’s as their lives are described to you and as they develop throughout the story.

But before she can find the answers the whole situation blows up and Alicia is trying to piece together the mystery and will she be able to get to the bottom and save herself.
I loved this story the twists and turns within the story makes it a compelling read, the characters are well developed and enhance the story and drives the main story through until the very end. The story follows multiple point of views and this just adds to the mystery. It was great how Alicia and her friend unravels the mysteries and this grows until the last word.
This is the first book I have read by this author and would love to read more in the future.

5/5 stars Twisted Thriller Wow! Wow! Wow! It is definitely the best thriller I’ve read this year. Alicia seems like the quiet, little housewife with the perfect life, the perfect family, etc. Throw in some besties, clandestine texts, and hidden secrets and BAM! Fireworks. This book had me from page 1 with its well -written plots and twists. Watching Alicia develop into a stronger woman made the book feel so personal. And who is this crazy mistress, Faith? What has Eliot gotten them into?…… You have got to read this book. You won’t be able to put it down until you finish it.
This is a book which is only for those over 18 due to the triggers it contains within.
Randy Fletcher is a best selling author of children’s horror novels and is celebrating the anniversary of his boyfriend Ben moving in with him as a couple together in a boat on Honeybee Lake, or at least they were until a knocking sound on the outside of the boat annoys Randy enough that he convinces Ben to have a look, however, when he finds a dead body attached to a rope underneath the dock, their plans are immediately forgotten and the police are called. Randy doesn’t want to believe what he is hearing but Ben’s reaction to the situation convinces him it must be true, so as they wait for the cops to show up, they go back down to the lake and support each other but they end up arguing, especially when Ben hides their relationship from the cops by saying that he is just a friend, it doesn’t help when the cop is dismissive of the whole situation and state that they can’t see as it is too dark and that they will have to come back in the morning to confirm it instead. Ben is stunned by their nonchalance and ends up taking it all out on Randy when all he wants to do is help, they manage to talk it through and spend the rest of the evening trying to forget about the body in the lake.
The next day the cops come back to the house and have the same bad attitude as the day before, but one is eventually convinced to get into the lake and take a look, when they do, it is confirmed that there is a dead body and that it is a crime scene so they have to call in a team to remove it, while they are doing that, they send Randy and Ben back up to the house to wait, but not before another argument. Meanwhile, Mandy Blake is having snuggles with her daughter when the phone rings and her wife brings it to her saying it is her brother Randy and he sounds awful and when he tells her what is happening at his house, her first thought is to go there and support him and Ben, but he delays that telling her there is nothing she can do, he just needed to talk to someone about it all, so she asks her sister in law Tessa if she has heard anything from Randy, but being busy herself, Mandy isn’t surprised when she doesn’t get an answer until later on. Five hours later and the body is on its way to the morgue but with no further information about who the person is, apart from it looks like they have been there a while, so with nothing else they can do, Randy and Ben try to take their minds off it and decide to try and get some sleep.
Mandy is still trying to get her head around what Randy told her over the phone and has a bad feeling about the whole situation, which is confirmed when she sees a bunch of missed calls and messages saying Randy has been taken in for questioning, Randy is waiting for her there in an interrogation room when two men in suits enter and start demanding that he tells them what is going on so that they can get on with their day, but when he clearly states multiple times that he has no idea what they are talking about, they reveal the identity of the body and Randy is completely taken aback and decides to ask for a lawyer before they go any further with their questions. When they leave and Mandy comes in, all the emotions he has been holding spill out when he tells her he has just found out that it is someone from his past better left forgotten and she is as dumbfounded as he is. They leave together and after everyone has returned home, this is when Tessa calls back, this is when she decides to communicate with the victim and see if they can help figure out what happened. When things take a turn for the worse and evidence is collected, fingers are pointed and confusion, temptation and betrayal reign, will Randy, Mandy and Tessa be able to unravel the mystery of the body found in Honeybee Lake, or will the past come back to haunt them all with deadly consequences? This is a triller with a paranormal twist which keeps you guessing all the way through, as you try to figure it all out as you go along the journey with them.

This was one “wicked” read! I wish I had found Glede Browne Kabongo sooner! I loved the mental roller coaster this book took me on as I read and could not put this down! I was instantly sucked into this perfect idyllic life of wealth and the lushness that comes with it. Everyone wonders how it must be to never worry right? Well nothing is ever as it seems and this book really examines that exact point perfectly. It takes one family and spins their lives completely three-sixty. I was constantly second guessing my conclusions and was still wrong throughout, which really is the best when it comes to reading a thriller novel. This was one of those books I couldn’t wait to finish because I had to know how it ended, but I was also devastated because I wanted to keep reading. Like a ride that you didn’t want to get off of. I will definitely be checking out Glede Browne Kabongo’s other works as soon as possible and will probably be re-reading this one soon! I am sure I missed some goodies along the way with all the twists and turns!
Our Wicked Lies is an action-packed and suspenseful novel that takes us through one woman’s journey to discover the truth about her husband’s secrets. Alicia, a mother of two and wife to Eliot, begins to suspect that her dearest husband is cheating, and as the plot unfolds, we discover with her that there is much more to Eliot than meets the eye. The suspense is layered well, keeping the reader engaged throughout the twists and turns of the story. Alicia is a very likeable heroine; she is caring and compassionate, a good friend, and an intelligent woman. Overall, I found this story very engaging and with a few more surprises than I expected. Give it a shot!
I swear all the best books have an author as the main character, maybe it’s because authors are so good at writing them having some serious first-hand experience of that stuff. Either way, I loved this read and I loved the main character. Once again Aiken-Hall writes brilliantly, keeping you gripping the edge of your seat all the way through. And can I just say that I adore the paranormal mystery genre, not enough books in it me thinks – or maybe there are, and I am just blind. But I’ve got to say I love it; it marries two of my favourite things and it’s just amazing. As previously stated, Randy Fletcher (got to love that name) is a writer and is looking to take his relationship with his boyfriend Ben to the next level. What better place to do this than a quiet lake called Honeybee, where he feels at peace? But a massive spanner gets thrown in the works in the form of a body being discovered and things that Randy thought were safely in his past, rear their ugly little heads and threatens to derail the quiet peace and happiness that he has found. Mandy, his sister, drops everything to help her brother, but even her loyalties are put to the ultimate test when the evidence severely implicates him. Get ready for some major twists and turns that will keep you guessing. Obviously, this has crossover from the previous books in the series with favourite characters making their appearance, but I don’t think you have to have read them to enjoy this, because this makes a super standalone that anyone who loves the paranormal and enjoys a good mystery should sink their teeth into. Also got to adore a good twist and this book does it nicely. Give it a go, you will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this paranormal crime story. It is book 2 in the Shadow of A Doubt series. It can be read alone but if you read the first book you will already know the main characters.
In this story we follow Randy and Ben. After getting together they start to settle into their new life on Honeybee Lake. Things are good until a dead body turns up underneath the Dock of their home. Who is it and what is it doing under there?
Once the body is identified Randy is the prime suspect and is arrested for murder. While he is in prison he suffers homaphobic abuse but with the help of his sister Mandy and his lawyer father can he get out of prison. While Randy is inside Ben leaves. Turns his back and runs? Is Ben guilty of committing the murder? With Mandy trying to solve the murder and clear her brothers name she turns to their friend Tessa for help. Tessa is able to speak and connect to spirits so can she connect with this person to find out the truth?
The Book is full of twists and turns that leep you guessing and all the way through it points to the murderer being either Ben or Randy but you never know who.

From the main character to the last page of this, I found it very enjoyable and easy to read. Such a classic way of not only writing it and reading it but by the way to weave an intriguing mystery. It’s almost like this author knows how to take their time to develop a gripping story you won’t soon forget. I won’t be giving away anymore than that I’m afraid so pick yours up and see for yourself why I can’t stop reading W.F. Ranew’s instant classics!

For a 300+ page book, this book was fast-paced and of course, you’re smack dab in the middle of the action and it’s suspenseful and full of impact. From the characters to the very end, you feel like a part of the squad. It’s so riveting to read you’re excited to see how and where it ends. The truth is that I loved it from start to finish. Every aspect of it was fun, action-filled and of course, after reading previous works from Mr. Mark Nolan I couldn’t have been more excited to get started on this one.

Naomi had just left a bad relationship and wanted a new start. When she meets Ryan, he is perfect in many ways, always hungry and never late, and Bryce is the handsome neighbor, with one cutie of a daughter. She is torn who she wants to spend time with. Well that is all you get for now.
Mya O’Malley wrote this suspenseful paranormal. It is well written and fun to read. If you like ghosts and solving crimes. I read this story years ago, I loved it then. I love it even more as an Audiobook. The characters are well explained and true to their descriptions. The story is fast paced and will keep you reading until the end. I absolutely recommend this book in Audio for the bone chilling intense storyline. Well Done Mya O’Malley! Well Done!

Aiken-Hall truly is a master at crafting a suspense filled page turner. This book stayed true to what I’ve come to expect – great character development, excellent plot pacing, and riveting suspense. I was kept guessing until the end. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed listening to this story. The narration was good and definitely brought the story to life. I really enjoyed the story; it was engaging and the characters’ story was great to listen to. I was really impressed with the authors attention to detail and because of the narration I really did feel like I was right there with the characters, I could imagine everything I was listening to. I haven’t read or listened to any of the other stories in this series but I definitely will be seeking them out now. I loved trying to solve the crimes and guess what was going to happen. A highly recommended audio book!

This was such a an awesome follow up to a Rebecca Remains. Even though you don’t have to read it first I definitely recommend it. This was a great read to follow Randy’s story. I couldn’t wait to find out what really happened at the lake! You definitely don’t see the twist coming in this interesting suspense read. I will definitely be reading more from Jessica Aiken-Hall!

Murder at Honeybee Lake is the 2nd book in the Shadow of Doubt series by Jessica Aiken-Hall. I liked the first book better, as it was more intense, but this book was very good too. They should be read in order, as there are a lot of overlapping characters, without much background given. This book focuses on Randy Fletcher, who came to the rescue in book one, taking care of Tessa. This book is full of suspense from the very beginning. Randy and his boyfriend Ben are swimming in the lake outside their house, when they find a dead body. Everything gets tangled up, and Randy is soon in quite a pickle. His life is thrown upside down, and soon it is difficult to determine what is good and what is bad. I was glad to have the book be a true mystery, with the truth not being revealed until the end. I love how all the characters are connected in a mysterious way that are slowly discovered. Highly recommend this series, and cant wait to read more by the author.

Another great read by Mr. Nolan. Everytime I pick up one of his books I’m captured. Each one gets better. I love every minute of it.

Jake Wolfe and his ex-war dog Cody are back in another of their thrilling adventures and this time, they are in Key West in Florida so that Jake can attend the wedding of a friend, it is a barefoot beach wedding at one of the resorts on the Marina and while Jake is mingling with the other guests and catching up with people, he has a feeling that all is not well, his neck is tingling and the feeling of a premonition of danger, despite the fact that most of the guests are veterans and it is probably one of the safest places in the Keys, but this feeling only intensifies when a drone passes by and looks directly at him, even though this particular hotel has a no fly policy. After the ceremony finishes and the reception is over, Jake and Cody sail the newlyweds to their cruising sloop, however, as they approach it, Cody alerts Jake that he can smell something on the boat, the newlyweds stubbornly don’t allow Jake and Cody to investigate, preferring to set off on their honeymoon instead. Unfortunately, minutes after they set off there is an explosion followed by a ball of flame as the boat blows up in front of Jake. As the authorities arrive and take control of the situation, Jake is struggling with feelings of guilt and remorse and he is blaming himself for not insisting harder on carrying out the check until he sees the same, or very similar drone flying around and this throws him into a rage where he threatens the person behind it and swears revenge.
The next day, all the local news networks are talking about the devastating event and the person who has claimed responsibility for it by sending them the drone footage, as well as their ransom demand for $30 million from Monroe County. Meanwhile, the criminal being discussed is planning their next targets, the timings of them, planning the method of placement and finding out as much as they can about the man who threatened them. Jake is having breakfast with friends and trying to make sense of what happened when Jake receives confirmation that his request to take Cody to check some of the other marinas in the area has been approved and so the pursuit of the bomber commences in earnest. When the group leave, Cody turns up outside the restaurant and so Jake splits off from the others to take him for a walk back to the marina, but just as they are passing the county courthouse, Cody signals that he senses something followed by Jake seeing an individual jumping out of a car and heading away on a bicycle. Jake realises what is about to happen and shouts a warning before firing a gun shot in the air to encourage people to listen and just as the two clear the area and take cover, there is a blast from the abandoned vehicle. Jake goes into marine mode and starts to fight the fires in the immediate area while making sure that people are ok while demanding that someone calls the authorities. When they arrive at the area, he again has to make a statement and he is again annoyed that he wasn’t able to stop it, or protect the people around him, but as he talks it over with people later on, he is even more resolved to help solve the mystery of what is happening.
As the days follow on and more attacks are planned and carried out, the locals and tourists are becoming increasingly worried by the situation, as are the local government, but they are worried about the economic impact it could have on this area which revolves around tourism. Will Jake and Cody be able to figure out who is behind the attacks and why before more innocent lives are lost, or will they be the next victims before they get the chance? This is another thrilling race against time where an ex-marine and ex-war dog take on another criminal with malicious intentions.

Together they must now get Lady Annabelle out of that world. But it isn’t as easy as they thought it would. Is she there willingly or is she forced to be there against her will. And can Mathilda and Abdul relationship survive or will one of them cross the line from work partners to sexual partners. Its an exciting adventure where fantasy becomes reality.

Logan McKenna is VERY curious! Her curiosity gives her a need to constantly solve things which sometimes lead her to dangerous situations. This is obviously what makes the story more exciting for the reader. The intensity and excitement in this book keeps you wanting more the more you read it, you HAVE to know how it ends or you wont sleep well at night. The not knowing what was going to happen next kept me hooked from the beginning. Listening to this book made me get into the story even more, I felt like I was part of what was happening. My reading experience was definitely amplified by listening to this book as opposed to reading it, the narrator did a great job!

Safe Harbour Audio Book by Valerie Davisson is the fifth book in the Logan McKenna series. As a book I had already read I was looking forward to listening to the audio version and I can definitely say I enjoyed it. I did notice a little more with the audio book that, without having read or listened to the previous books in the series, you could miss a few details. It can be a stand-alone but I would highly recommend starting at the beginning to really get all the extra details.
I still love the book – the intricate story and the brilliant characters. I don’t think for me that the story hit home quite as well with it being narrated, it felt like some of the intensity and mystery was lost. However it was easy to picture the events taking place and feel like I engaged with them. This is such a brilliant series and this won’t be the last audio version that I listen to!

Murder at Honeybee Lake is an enticing crime novel with paranormal elements. It’s the second in Jessica Aiken-Hall’s Shadow of a Doubt series and can be read as a standalone or enjoyed alongside the first book. Randy and Ben’s world is turned upside down when they find a body underneath the dock at their lakeside property. At first it seems like homophobic cops are their biggest problem, until the evidence starts pointing to Randy as the culprit. Their found family is convinced of Randy’s innocence but will have to fight to prove it, and to look after Randy and Ben. This is a real page-turner. I couldn’t put it down until I knew what had really happened, and why. There are plenty of developments along the way that kept me on the edge of my seat. There are some great side characters in this book as well. I particularly liked Dora, the nurse who befriends Randy. She’s such a warm, caring character and was a point of light in an otherwise dark book. I’d recommend this to fans of paranormal mysteries. If you want a story where the ghost gets involved in solving their own murder, this is the book for you! It gets five stars from me.

Our Wicked Lies by Gledé Browne Kabongo 5 of 5 Stars I was gripped by this domestic crime thriller by Gledé Browne Kabongo and could not put this book down. The setting is a beautiful town in one of the country’s wealthiest zip codes full of wealth and privilege, but you soon discover that nothing is as it seems and all the characters are hiding something. The main character is Alicia Gray who is married to Eliot a successful man who takes her on romantic trips away. The couple have two daughters and live in a beautiful house, basically Alicia has an enviable marriage and life. However having witnessed a suspicious moment between her husband and her best friend Kat, Alicia then finds dozens of unsent emails from Eliot to a Faith. The deeper Alicia digs to find out her identity the more lies and secret she uncovers and then a shocking death which could have been either a tragic accident or cold blooded murder complicates things further for Alicia. The storyline flows well and the descriptive narrative brings both the setting and the characters to life which made me feel immersed in the story. The characters were all very realistic and Alicia was a very likeable main character who I felt engaged with. The dramatic plot twists kept me hooked and guessing until the very shocking ending, which left me thinking about this book long after I had finished reading it.

O’Malley is a master storyteller and hearing this book come to life – simply amazing. I was transfixed. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job breathing life into the pages. Much like the book, I couldn’t stop listening to this work without finishing it. I cannot wait to give it another listen. Loved it.

What happens when you find a body under your property but in the end all the leads come straight back to you for the murder.
Randy is living his dream life with Ben now, but after his horrendous past can he finally put the past behind him and move on to the next step with Ben. It is coming up to the couples first anniversary and Randy is ready to take that commitment but will one night change that forever.
This is the second book in this series and follows the relationship and life of Randy, we get to see a glance into their world in the first book but this book explores more of their relationship and the way the story twists whether Randy can convince people he is not mad and did not do anything. When Randy finds the body to the investigation you feel for him as in the end, he feels no-one believes that he was not involved in anything.
With hints of the paranormal and the secondary characters with the story this makes for a compelling read. The story is well written and draws you further into the story as it goes on, can they discover the reason why this is happening and can their love for each other help them through to uncover the secrets which lie within the story.
This is a great mystery story and I believe you will be just as hooked as I was.

This is the fifth book in this series which I enjoyed listening to. This is an easy, engaging story to listen to. The narrator’s voice made the story fun and entertaining. It was easy to listen to and understand. It has twists and turns that keep you wanting to know what will happen next. Logan makes a great character and always finds herself in the middle of something. In this story she finds herself in the middle of two murders. Things turn and safe harbor is needed but will they all find it? Will someone be left out? I really enjoyed listening to this story. I highly recommend this audio.

I enjoyed this mystery. This is the fourth book in this series by this author which I enjoyed just as much as the previous books. This is a well developed story that brings action and mystery. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life on each page. Their twists and turns left me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I was pulled into the story by them and they kept the story engaging. PI Red Farlow is back in another mystery. What happens when he goes to a meeting only to find the chairman with a knife in the back? His investigation reveals more murders and a real estate scheme. Will he solve this mystery before it is too late? I enjoy PI Red’s character. He just adds to the enjoyment of the story. He made me feel as if I was right there in the story with him. I highly recommend this book.
So, after reading the first book in this series I had to pick up this one to continue. And it didn’t disappoint. I will say I do highly recommend you reading the first one before this if you haven’t. Just as with the first book, the author continued to have me reading as fast as I could to see what happened next. She has a way with words that keeps you enthralled in the story. Not only is this a paranormal mystery, but there is a love story intwined that will keep you on the edge of your seat and tear at your emotional heartstrings. Personally, these characters made the entire story come to life. And as with any good mystery you will find yourself pointing fingers at certain individuals but watch out who you blame because people may be destroyed in the process. Read it to find out if your suspicions are correct.

Our Wicked Lies by Gledè Browne Kabongoa suspenseful story that had me flipping the pages to discover how it all played out. I would class it as a bit of a psychological thriller- there’s also plenty of emotion, secrets, mystery, deception, intrigue, lies, betrayal, discovery, and tension. Although the story was a little slow in the beginning, it didn’t take too long before it had me devouring the pages and following along intently as everything unfolded.
