My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the sixth book in the Logan Mckenna Series. I have enjoyed all the books in the series so far and this one is just as good. I love Logan’s character all she wants is a peaceful life but she kept finding herself in the middle of murder and mystery at every turn. These books keep you gripped and guessing at every turn.

Logan’s life is full of complications but when Logan and her half sister get caught up in a murder investigation they need to work together and sort through history to figure out who did it.

In the past there was a horrible murder that leaves two families to go different ways. When one member of the family turns up dead and murder is suspected the number 1 suspect is her fiance who is a member of the other family. Has conflicts in the past caused him to commit murder or was it just a tragic accident.

Logan needs to work through the ties in the past and present to get to the bottom of this mystery.

Another great story for this series! Logan is remodeling the fixer upper she and Ben have bought and she is set to meet her half sister! Then they of course get pulled into a murder case and it all takes off from there. As always these stories keep me glued to the pages to see where its going to go and I’m usually wrong! Great series and of course look forward to more from this author.

The Farmer’s Slaughter by Liliana Hart & Scott Silver II – Review by Colleen Noyes

The Farmer's Slaughter (Harley and Davidson #1)The Farmer’s Slaughter by Liliana Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found Liliana Hart by accident about 8 or 9 years ago when I saw the cover to her first JJ Graves book and that book blew me away. I’m a bit behind on the series, but every book I have read has been loved. So, when I was looking for a quick cozy mystery book I came across this one and let me tell thank goodness i did! The setting is perfect, I love that it’s light but has mystery and I love the connection between Agatha and Hank. I would have liked to see a little more build up and suspense in the book like she writes in the JJ Graves series, but I’m hoping that will happy as the series progresses. If you are looking for a light cozy mystery that is a quick read then grab this book!

I loved that this book had us traveling back and forth in time. From the times of Prohibition to 2020, we’re thrown into a murder mystery that’s unlike any other. I love that the author’s personal settings happen to be thrown into these stories as well. Logan is also balancing a private life with her professional life which we know can be tough for her. This book is multilayered in numerous ways but the author definitely gets the reader to think about a lot while indulging in a murder mystery. These kinds of stories do wonders for my memory and for a new way of thinking.

Love Heels!: The TV news business can be murder is the third book in the PJ Santini series by Lynne Russell. Being a huge fan of Janet Evanovich, this book was right up my alley. I loved the wittiness of PJ Santini. Another great aspect of this book was PJ’s interaction with her family. I wanted to be a part of this family and all of their craziness. The murder mystery kept me on my toes the whole time. This was my first time reading a book in this series or by this author, but I look forward to reading more.

Love Heels!: The TV news business can be murder by Lynne Russell is the third book in the PJ Santini Series. So glad to get another PJ Santini book. This series is full of laughs, groans, and twists and turns. PJ is a sassy and smart woman with a great cast of supporting characters. This series is always a quick read for me because I am caught up in the story and this was no exception. PJ is one the case again and always gives it her all, but sometimes and often things do not go as planned. I love how she means well and enjoy where her mind wanders as she thinks through everything going on. This is a fun getaway to what has been 2020 and I’m glad this is one of the books I’m finishing the year out with. If you are looking for fun, read with great characters you have to pick up this book and series. I look forward to reading more from Lynne Russell in the future and hopefully reading more PJ Santini books.

I have read a few books from this author and she always exceeds my expectations. This is the second book for the addictive series The Chicago Vigilantes. You can read this story as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was hooked on the first page. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.

Sloane Friday is one of the selected few to be part of this vigilante group. She was a cop before this so she knows danger. Sloane is told to go undercover to get a professor’s help. He is the key to stopping this dangerous drug that is killing a lot of people in her city. Sloane was thinking that this professor was going to be old but he is drop dead gorgeous. She can’t get him out of her mind for some reason. When they are joined together sparks start to fly but they have a job to do first. Will Sloane find love that she has been waiting for or will the darkness take that away from her as well?

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel #2)Urban Justice by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When you are fighting a invisible force, then you find yourself attracted to someone but has Sloane time to find out if it could be more.

Sloane has put her career behind her and she is now a part of the Guardians Angels as the vigilante, can she carry on and try and stop the evil force which is still in the city.

Luke has had his fair share of violence being within the military but when he sees Sloane and feels the attraction can he be drawn back into the world and still be able to open up to Sloane and with the chemistry sparking can they start a relationship in the middle of chaos.

I love this story, as the second installment it is full of action like the first story and with Sloane’s character it drives through the chapters and has you drawn in from the beginning. As the book goes through you wonder if they can ever be together with Sloane’s secret will she let Luke into her world. The chemistry between the two characters jump off the page and I love the way the story weaves in and out of the city which builds the suspense of the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy novel with an added crime mystery element which had me hooked from start to finish. It is book three in a series and personally I would recommend reading the previous books first, to be introduced to PJ and find out her backstory. I love the main character, private investigator and television news reporter, PJ Santini who the author really makes come alive and who brings the story together. When a divorce case turns into a homicide investigation it puts PJ at risk but it doesn’t stop her from investigating. Louboutin wearing PJ is a brilliant lead character as she is independent, feisty, sassy and not afraid to speak her mind and I fell in love with her whilst reading this novel. PJ’s crazy family all bring a different element to the story and the witty banter between the family members had me laughing out loud at times. The crime mystery element had me gripped and kept me guessing. The narrative flows well making this an easy read and the plot is action packed and kept me happily turning the pages. I found ‘Love Heels’ to be an engaging and enjoyable read and you can tell that the author really knows about the world in which she writes about as the, “first woman to anchor a regular network nightly newscast”. I look forward to reading future books in this series.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel #2)Urban Justice by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Urban Justice is the fantastic 2nd book in the Chicago Vigilantes series by India Kells. I have been a fan of India Kells writing for a couple of years now and was looking forward to the 2nd instalment in this series as I had thoroughly enjoyed the first book. It was no surprise that I adored this book too as I’ve never read anything by India Kells that I did not absolutely love.
India Kells has an amazing knack for writing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. This was also the case for Sloane and Luke. Sloane is a totally badass ex cop, now vigilante and Luke is the ex marine, professor who just exudes sex appeal. A match made in heaven or hell? Let’s just say that their road to romance is far from a straight, smooth path.
As with other India Kells’ books this had a storyline that grabbed me immediately and had me hooked throughout. It was full of emotion, danger, violence and suspense. I love India Kells’ style of writing and the way that the stories flow so well, taking you on an amazing journey, that as much as you want to know what happens, you just don’t want to get off and Urban Justice is a prime example of that. It really is a great story with amazing characters and I can’t wait to read more of this series to see which vigilante we get to learn more about next.

Love Heels is the third book in the PJ Santini series by Lynne Russell. Unfortunately I haven’t read the other books in the series yet and I definitely think I would have enjoyed it more if I had, it took me a little while to get into the story.

PJ Santini is both a news reporter on TV and a private investigator, and this series follows her as she searches for the truth and reports it. The author manages to make the story serious and funny, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.
I really loved the characters, the main character is fab, but her friends and family really make the story come to life. I just need to go back and read the rest now!

Love Heels by Lynne Russell is a laid back easy on the brain kind of mystery. The story moves along at a nice little pace. I love the main character P.J. Santini. She is just so real. She knows who she is, and she is happy with it. I love the everyday way that Russell writes. P.J.’s family is what most families are like, but they don’t want anyone to know. I love P.J.s family and friends and the neighborhood she grew up in. The dialogue kept me smiling all through the book. Yes there is mystery, yes there is I intrigue and danger but Russell manages to make it seem like just another day. I can’t help it after reading this book I just felt good all over, you will too.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 2) by India Kells is a romance story. The story is full of suspense and darkness. It is fast paced and just as enjoyable as the first book in the series. India’s writing style makes it easy to get lost in the pages. India is one of my favourite authors and I love the palpable grit she infuses within the story. It is also full of intrigue and danger as Sloane and her masked vigilante team try to keep the city safe from a new drug that keeps on spreading. The action continues in this vigilante series. Noctem Consulting is still chasing the tail of Mr. White. The need to take the drug Phantom off the streets of Chicago still burns within them. None more so than Sloane, especially with her past. They realize that the criminals are entering the drugs through the underground tunnels. Deciding to consult an expert, Sloane approached Luke Radcliffe. He’s an ex-marine turned university professor but is also passionate about urban exploration. He knows the tunnels better than anyone. Love blossoms in unexpected places and Sloane never experienced anything like it before. Working toy towards a common goal, they grew closer than ever.

When your life is finally falling into place, is it too good to be true.

Logan is finally getting her life in order, first Ben then they decide to buy a house and looking into fixing it up but when another murder happens guess whos in the middle to try and solve it. Yes Logan.

With her discovering in the last book of her half sister Olivia and worrying about meeting her, they uncover a murder. The Collins and Ellis have had a family feud dating back years but when Charlie is killed and Wade Ellis is the prime suspect things is going to get busy and bring in the family feud of old.

I love this series, from the first book til now you have seen how Logan has grown and overcome her family secrets and find love. This story has the same murder, twists and turns with the added intrigue within the story and as always the book is well written and will have you at the edge of your seat. Logan is a independant, Sassy woman and with the help of the secondary character make this series a great one to read.

This is the second in the series and it stands up to the same standard as the first. It’s fast paced, filled with characters that make me want to know them better and is quite the page turner.

To say I loved it is an understatement. The story moves along. It is filled with action and suspense. I have all the characters in Noctem in a list. Each one has different qualifications and skills. I can’t wait to learn about them all. This one is Sloane. She is an ex cop and runs as the vigilante. She has had some difficult past and it’s nerve wracking watching her trying to change. She goes through some ups an downs in dealing with the past and self doubt.

Overall I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first. It isn’t necessary to read book 1 before reading this. It might enrich your enjoyment but not necessary.

This story had me hooked. India Kellé definitely knew what she was doing in this second book. The characters had chemistry out of this world. The first few pages you have to push through because Luke makes you want to slap him. With how much of a douche he is. Sloan was a very interesting character as she was the one out fighting for justice. Getting to the dirty truth. You always think of Batman when you think vigilante. But here we have a woman who past is anything but indulgent. Fighting for a city that will never thank her. I really liked how the author wrote Luke and Sloan coming together. The author made it all seem effortless. I would’ve like to explore those tunnels too. The thought of discovering something unknown to the world. To be apart of history in a permanent way. Definitely get this book so you can dive into the mystery.
